So I decided to make another thread for the Superpower highschool AU we play around with in the IC. Since the other is old and most of the characters have different or new powers, that way we can look back or look at a character for lawls and funsies. Feel free to post your characters here. Feel free to take the template too to use for your own character.
Ace's ability is called Sonic. In short, not too complicated, words, when Ace snaps he creates a sound bubble around him. Within the bubble, Ace can 'see' sound and travel through the sound waves, literally moving at the speed of sound. Only Ace can see the bubble that he created. Ace can also create sonic powered punches and kicks within the bubble. He is also immune to air friction and the strain it puts on his body while inside the bubble. To the naked eye, it would appear as though Ace simply vanished and reappeared at his chosen location. However, the bubble is only as large as far as the snap can be heard, which is around 5 meters. Theoretically, if Ace snapped and it echoed he could travel larger distances. However, he has not tested this. A added bonus to this power is Ace has pretty good hearing, above average of the normal human being.
The weakness to his power, as stated above, is it's somewhat short range. If he uses it in succession, Ace becomes extremely exhausted and can't use his sonic ability for a certain period of time. He can take one to two people through the bubble with him, but this puts a lot of strain on his body and he only drags someone through with him if it was an emergency. The person inside the bubble would only see a blur of their surroundings, as Ace is the only one who can visibly see the bubble.
Ace was born to two normal parents. At first, they thought Ace was simply a very energetic child. By the age of one, Ace was already up and walking. However, he was still wobbly at this point. Once he was up and walking completely, his parents got quite the work out trying to catch him for bed time or bath time. He was quicker than them, and often they could have swore he teleported from one place to another.
When Ace turned five, this was when he finally learned of his ability, and gave a explanation to his parents why they could never catch him easily. He was playing in the hallway, trying to catch their family cat (who hated Ace's guts for throwing a rattle at him when Ace was a baby). He thought that maybe snapping would get the cat's attention. However, when he did, something else happened. Time seemed to freeze around him. He could see something that others couldn't. Considering it for a split second, Ace rushed through the bubble and appeared right before their cat before engulfing it in a hug. This resulted in Ace's first facial scar. The one that runs across the bridge of his nose.
After finding out that Ace had powers, his parents were unsure what to do with him. While they were freaking out about their son, Ace was exploring his abilities further. They had lived in a pretty normal neighbor hood near the academy that Ace now calls home. He would go out in the backyard every now and then to practice his ability, which he called super face speed at this point. After two years of keeping their son's power a secret, they had finally came across the academy. Ace absolutely loved the idea of going to a school filled with super power kids. His life was pretty boring up until now. His parents basically hid his existence from the rest of the world until they had learned about the academy.
He entered the academy in the first grade, and that was one hell of a ride. Ace got to learn about the 'magical' world and all the superpowers that existed. He learned how to control his power more, rather than just running through it blindly. Over the course of his elementary years, Ace had full control over his powers and was simply getting stronger through the years. However, once he entered middle school, that's when he suffered another battle scar.
The family cat, which Ace had nicknamed Hellbringer, ended up scratching him again on his right cheek. This time it was because it was bathtime for Hellbringer (who's real name was Sam). The orange tabby refused and released himself from Ace's grip with another scratch.
Through his middle school years, Ace had become known as a genius. He flew through almost all of his classes with straight A's, aside from classes like Combat and Home Ec. The mandatory classes, such as history classes, English and math were what his brain was apparently wired for. During the first year of middle school, he also picked up an interest in playing the piano and piano music. By the time high school came around, Ace was known as a genius for more than just his school grades. His talent for playing the piano was catching everyone's eye.
Finally, he was allowed to live on the school's campus. Saying bye to his parents, he decided to give Sam a last chance before leaving. Needless to say, it ended up with his third scar and his hatred for felines since.
Ace has loved the academy since he was enrolled in first grade. Not only did his life become much more interesting, but he had made many friends throughout the years. His best buddy, Engel Werner, has been his best bud since... well, forever. He met the big guy in freshmen year and has been close to him since. Engel's sister, Sera, also gained his attention since Junior year. Even though Ace would never admit it out loud, he is in love with her.
In his Senior year, Ace has considered what he wanted to do after school. However, right now, he's focusing on actually finishing school and tutoring Sera, while also trying to rack up the courage to confess now that he knows Engel would approve. However, it might be too late at this point as Sera has shown extreme interest in other boys.
RELATIONSHIPS
In progress. Will update accordingly.
Sera Werner: His best friend's sister who he is in love with. He didn't act on his feelings because he feared that Engel didn't approve. However, once that was cleared up, he was too late. She seems to be infatuated with another boy, or two. While he's still pretty good friends with her, Ace always mentally gets jealous when Sera's attention shifts to another 'pretty' boy that passes by. He's currently tutoring her in most of her classes. He knows exactly how to make her smile, but despite his attempts at telling her how he feels, Sera tends to take it the wrong way, leaving Ace feeling as though he was shot down.
Engel Werner: Ace's best buddy who he met during his high school years. Since their meetings, Ace has been Engel's best bro. He often drags Engel into trouble, which is unintentional. If anything, Engel is there to make sure Ace doesn't sonic himself into a wall by mistake. (Which has happened when he was younger) Despite Engel's constant poking at him, the two have a pretty close relationship. Ace supports his best buddy through anything and is always there for him.
Crispin Mercer: Engel's friend, and also Engel's love interest. While Ace doesn't hate the Whale (his nickname that he mentally calls Crispin), he always gets jealous whenever he sees Sera completely swooning over him. He considers himself an acquaintance of Crispin, but doesn't know him that well to consider him a friend. Ace is stuck between a weirdly shaped love square. Ace is in love with Sera, who's in love with Cris, but Engel likes Crispin while Sera doesn't know it. He's not too sure what to do with this information and just helps Engel with his delimia while keeping quiet around Sera. If she's more happy with Crispin, then Ace will be okay after some alone time playing video games. It would be a hard heartbreak if she ever got with Crispin, but he would get over it in time. A long, long time.
Jeremiah Burton: Jerry is someone Ace met during free periods. He loves Jerry's powers and can be easily distracted by it, however, he doesn't fully understand Jerry's power. There's just something about him that's crazy and fun. Ace considers him a friend. If anything, Jerry would be that buddy of his that he invites over for video games and runs out of the room in terror when Jerry makes one of the weapons from the game come to life.
Lucas Courtwater: Jerry's best friend (Ace gets the feeling that it's more than that though, but he's Ace so don't mind him). While he hasn't really talked to the guy much, Ace has seen him during a free period or two. He really enjoys Lucas' artist power and musical abilities. He's in the same music club as Lucas.
Vesta Dressler: A girl who is in the same Home Ec class as him and Sera. She is quite the fighter, as she is top of the class in Combat. She also appears to have a good friendship with Sera. Even though Ace hasn't really talked to her much, he considers her a friend and would gladly help her with anything she needed. Except being a dummy to train against, that is one thing he won't do for anyone.
Jason Royde: A magic user who had asked Sera out, gaining a yes from her. This pretty much shattered, crushed and destroeyd Ace's world inside his head, but kept himself together in reality. Despite Sera agreeing to go on a date with him, she has yet to actually do it because of Jason's roommate. He doesn't dislike or really like Jason. It's a neutral feeling towards him. He refers to Jason as Magic Marker due to his magical abilities.
Magic! Jason is a magic user, well more specifically, an aura manipulator. He is capable of manipulating his own aura and the aura of the things around him. Everything and everyone has an aura, which is how his magic works. He uses spells, his wand, or in desperate times, his will to focus his aura to interact with the world how he needs it to. Given that he isn't the most experienced mage, wizard, magician; whatever you want to call him, is essential for him to have some sort of focus for his aura. If he doesn't have it, his aura will be used with such strength and intensity that it'll burn out in no time at all, leaving him physically exhausted and possibly unconscious, and if it continues; dead.
Jason isn't all powerful or anything like that, he is only as powerful as the spells he knows or what he's learned, but that doesn't mean he can't improvise when the occasion calls. His aura is a brilliant silver that shines bright like a diamond. haha see what I did there
Born to two foreign parents, both magic users, they weren't surprised at all when their little Jason turned out to be one himself. However, when the boy turned eleven, the age his parents received their invitation to a magic school, everyone was surprised when he didn't. After a lengthy argument with the headmaster of the school, Jason's mother was the bearer of bad news: Jason wouldn't be going to the school of his parents, they weren't in the district for it. Something about being a continent away. Anyhow, his parents knew they needed to get the boy some teaching.
After some extensive searching, the two discovered a school for children with... gifts. While at first the school was reluctant to allow Jason in, considering his power was not really something the school was ready for; however, after a large donation to the school, Jason was allowed entry. He continued going to the school, excelling in the usual courses: Math, Science, History, and English, but found himself bored in the classes specified for powers. Considering his wasn't one that just showed itself naturally, he was often in the back of the line at combat classes or anything that requires powers to be used. To make up for his lack of understanding of his powers, Jason flirts. And flirts. And flirts.
It wasn't until recently, the second semester of his Junior year, did Jason finally receive some proper education. His parents had found a tutor nearby who began teaching the young man, but even now, Jason is completely behind compared to his peers.
RELATIONSHIPS
Will be updating as relationships form.
Sera: A girl who, not surprisingly, caught Jason's eye. It wasn't her beauty, not that she isn't beautiful, but it was just how she carried herself. Jason is attracted to her and, after some work, finally got a yes to a date, but due to issues (that almost always appear to be his roommate's fault), they haven't actually had this date.
Angel Dalton's power is Precognition. When she first arrived at the school her skill in this was fuzzy at best. She would often get pictures, or sounds.. and have to make sense of it. Who the vision was about, what the vision was trying to tell her.. all of this was left to her own interpretation.
As time has gone in the school though she's been "gently pushed" in the direction of gaining further skill at her talents. Now a days visions are more clear and come in the forms of words and visuals. She goes into a bit of a trance like state when she's receiving the vision. Although occasionally she still gets visions in the previous manner. She can't control her power in any capacity, the visions come when they please.
Not too much different from her background now. Born to a mother and father whose differences in parenting gave birth to a kid who was sheltered and at the same time encouraged to follow her hearts every whim. Homeschooled and treated well, the only drama in Angel's life was the bit of lonliness she felt. She wanted a place she could really feel like she belonged. Friends that she didn't have to move away from as soon as she made them because their father's business kept them moving.
She discovered her power pretty simply, just uprising her parents with knowing what they were planning for dinner a few nights was enough to notice it. They trusted their kid and wanted her to be happy as they always did. Going to the school was her idea and this is her first year at the academy. Her goal is to become a super hero.. although she is too embarrassed to admit it.
RELATIONSHIPS
Yoshino A shy girl she met and then saw a vision of confessing her love to another girl! Angel really likes her and hopes they can be close friends, but feels like she needs a little bit more confidence in herself. .
Arietta's power is most akin to subliminal messaging or pushing. With her voice, she is able to implant thoughts, feelings, emotions, and other forms of states of mind altering. However the power is only extremely suggestive. The power can be fought with those would desire the opposite of what she is implanting. The more they are against what she is suggesting, the easier it is to fight. However, if there is a bit of them that would be fine with the suggestion they do undergo it's effects based on how fine they would be.
Repeated commands tire her out and cause her to under go perspiration. Although her suggestions do weaken over time, it's been incorrectly thought that her power causes characters to go in a trance like state and they slowly "slip out of it" to the person the power is being used on.. there is no trance like state. The emotions, thoughts, and feelings feel natural and the only indication of them not being so would be if they are against what they would usually think or feel in a situation. The way a character would remember the thoughts would just be a sort of a "what was I thinking? Gawsh" sort of thing, rather then a "whoa I was just being controlled" type situation.
Arietta tells people her power is far weaker and more innocent kind of emotion manipulation, the power to make people feel calm and happy.
Arietta just wanted kids to be nice. That was when she first encountered her power. Most of the kids didn't understand her.. they didn't want to understand her. She was a bully.. but that just made it worse. They didn't ever try to think of why she was doing what she was doing. No.. they thought she was a monster but she wasn't. What was so wrong with being nice?
That's.. how she discovered it. She started to discover that she could actually make people to be nice. It was easy to rationalize it as she continued to get older. It would only work if a bit of them actually wanted to be nice, so she was just making people act the way they SHOULD. Why shouldn't they be kind and understanding? She was just correcting people's foul behavior.
As she continued to grow older her suggestions became how she dealt with people. Always gently nudging them to be kind and compassion and well.. getting people to be generous and adore her a little was just a extra thing on the side sometimes, you know? There was a bit of them that wanted to, obviously. What was the harm?
Although she was nervous about joining a school where having a strange power was common place, Arietta couldn't help but want to be apart of things. She had a cover story, and it wouldn't be hard to get the teachers to see it her way. I mean.. she always got people to see things her way before after all~
RELATIONSHIPS
None as of now. She is interested in Ricki due to her knowing about her power but still being nice, but that's the closest she's gotten to a closer sort of friendship or relationship at all in the IC so far.
Hell Fire Manipulation; It's rumored that Engel once used Holy Fire instead but that is clearly no longer the case. When using his power, he changes in both physical and mental means, his mannerisms taking on a whole different display. The white of his eyes become pitch black, the red veins seeming to shine along with his red iris. Black patches crawl across his skin and he gives off a light smoke as if his body were on fire, occasionally leaking out of his mouth as well, though you can't see the flames the smoke is probably coming from. His body moves in stiff jerks, as if he's hesitant to move any which way. His voice goes from smooth and gentle, to a gravelly darker and deeper tone, often struggling to get out proper words the more he lets his power go. His teeth grow sharper, like vampiric canines and the longer he uses his power the more inhuman his appearance can get, such as forming claws on his fingers, or even losing the red of his iris to the blackness.
Due to the fact Engel is a hell fire manipulator, he is unable to manipulate the normal fires on Earth. The only fires he can control are the black flames he creates, and only he is able to put them out unless a holy force is countering him. These flames behave very similarly to normal fire, but they burn things much quicker and do not give off any sort of light. Not that that's detrimental for Engel as his eyes allow him to see even in a pitch black room. His eyes also allow him to see spirits and the undead, along with the most recent trails they've left behind. It's almost as if he was made for hunting down the lost spirits on Earth as it's relatively unknown that Engel is actually capable of consuming these souls to give himself boosts to his powers. His fires are able to burn and trap spirits, and it's been theorized that if he burned someone to death, than their soul would perish as well. However, Engel hasn't had any sort of desire to test that theory out.
Quick Notes / WIP - Born to Micheal & Angelica Werner - Engel's powers awaken early; Holy Fire Manipulation Prodigy - Angelica gave birth to Sera & Fina - Angelica diagnosed with Post-Partum Depression Psychosis - Micheal died - Angelica attempts to exchange Sera & Fina's souls with a devil for Micheal - Engel arrives almost too late to save Fina; Offers his soul in their place - Demon attempts to possess Engel, but he over powers it - Demon remains inside of Engel and corrupts his fire - Engel becomes a Hell Fire Manipulator - Seeks aid from the Church; they cover Fina's care in Rome - Handles caring for Sera, soon after enrolling in the Academy
Cartoon Physics; Like a living cartoon, Jerry's power is certainly something you need to see to really believe. Pulling things from the infinite space in his pockets, fitting through spaces that would be physical impossible if his body didn't seem to be able to bounce right back up without injury after falling several stories, shape shifting, manipulating the scene around him to Disney-esque musical levels, Jerry is pretty much a living cartoon. His power is a delight to observe, not so much intimidating as just hilarious to see. He loves putting on a show for his "audience" and seems to have an infinite amount of tricks up his sleeves...
So long as he has enough color for it. Jerry is, if you wish to get really blunt, a living painting. He is made of paint, and as such, rather than running out of energy, Jerry has a tendency to run out of paint. The only paint it seems he is able to consume without wanting to gag is the paint that comes from the many beautiful pieces of artwork that were created by a Mr. Lucas Courtwater. While Jerry seems to have no limit to his ability, Lucas is able to hit the 'off' switch with just a simple thought. No matter how grand and impressive Jerry's cartoony constructions may be, they will poof the moment Lucas demands it. Many believe this is because of Lucas's ability to bring his art to life and manipulate it, but very few are aware of the fact that Jerry is technically one of Lucas's living paintings. However, Jerry is a living painting with a soul, and not just a means of Lucas's imagination.
Quick Notes / WIP - Son of Jack Burton and Lilian Willows - Left in care of Grandfather Jeremiah - Signs of Power start here from Cartoon marathons - Put in care of Uncle Jared Burton after Grandfather grows frail - Jared unable to use powers uses Jerry to try and figure out how to get them - Meet Lucas Courtwater - Grandfather dies; Jared lashes out on Jerry, taking his eye - Jerry taken from Jared by Social Services - Jerry adopted by Lucas's family - Jerry diagnosed with terminal ailment - Lucas paints a life size image of Jerry; Finished just before Jerry dies - Jerry dies but shortly comes back through Lucas's painting - Jerry is now a "living painting" and fully in tune with his powers
Yoshino's power is to create and manipulate barriers. Initially, it seemed like a very simple and purely-defensive power, but, as Yoshino has recently discovered, it has a surprising number of offensive uses, all of which are just as surprisingly powerful. Her barriers come in three forms;
Repel: The most basic form and, until recently, the only one she knew how to use. It's pretty much what it sounds like; she uses it to block and repel any sort of attack or random flying object. However, she's also recently discovered that it can be used to smash and crush objects by more or less throwing the barrier itself at something. This "shield bash" is extremely powerful, but, unfortunately, she has trouble controlling how strong it is. More often than not, the damage it causes is far greater than she expects/intends. Also, it can be used as a makeshift platform, though she needs to be able to concentrate in order to support her and/or anyone else's weight. These barriers are visible, but transparent. They invariably have a bluish tint to them.
Counter: A seemingly identical variation of "Repel". The only difference is that it's been altered so that, once it's hit by a physical force, it will violently shatter. Should it be triggered by someone attacking at a close range, the attacker will be pummeled by a blast of "shrapnel". Though it's barely noticeable to anyone but the most observant, the tint of this type of barrier is just a shade darker than a "Repel" type.
Absorb: One of Yoshino's most recent discoveries, and potentially her most powerful. Rather than deflecting attacks, they are instead absorbed into the barrier itself. Then, she is able to discharge all of the absorbed energy at once in the form of a powerful blast. This is not without limitations, though. The easiest things to absorb are elemental powers, such fire, ice, water and electricity. Wind is a little tricky, but still possible. Additionally, any form of energy can also be absorbed. However, it's not without its limitations. Solid objects such cannot be absorbed in this manner (ice being the only exception), essentially making it impossible for her to absorb any earth-based attacks. Additionally, anything intangible (such as temperature, sunlight, sound, psychic waves, light or darkness) cannot be absorbed unless it is focused into an energy attack of some sort. Lastly, unlike the other barrier types, this one is clear and completely transparent. For all intents and purposes, it looks like a large and thick piece of floating glass. However, when it absorbs energy, it will take on a color that matches that of the energy absorbed. Should more than one type of energy be absorbed at once, the colors will blend together.
Either way, aside from the limited listed for the "Absorb", all three of her barriers share the same weaknesses and limitations. Keeping a barrier up for an extended period of time is both physically and mentally taxing for Yoshino, meaning she can't keep a barrier up indefinitely. Additionally, while they can take a ridiculous amount of punishment, even they have their limits. If hit hard/long enough, they will eventually break. Lastly, they are, for obvious reasons, useless against any sort of power or weapon designed to disrupt, pierce, or otherwise nullify shields and barriers. Should an "Absorb" type barrier be destroyed while it's absorbed some energy, the stored energy will be instantly unleashed in a powerful burst, potentially harming Yoshino in the process.
Yoshino's life has, up until now, not been a very happy one. Her older brother constantly abused her, hating her because their mother died giving birth to her. As a result, she not only has multiple scars on her body (which she is extremely self-conscious about), but she she is also afraid of men. While she can handle being around them, she will panic of they approach her suddenly or try to touch her in any way, even it's something as innocent as tapping her shoulder.
Either way, there was an incident where, while he was beating her, she accidentally (and for the first time) activated her barrier powers, which hit him like a ton of bricks and sent him crashing through a window. Though he was seriously injured would survive. Fearing what he would do in retaliation, Yoshino decided to run away while he was still in the hospital. Unfortunately, she had nowhere to go.
Eventually, she she discovered that there was a school for kids who have unexplained powers like hers, that gives them a controlled environment to help them learn about and control them. Although she had to lie about her family life, she was accepted into the school. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to get into the dorms, since those require a parent's signature to grant them permission. Instead, she has been living in a homeless shelter, and does her best to keep the fact that she is homeless a secret
RELATIONSHIPS
(will add more as I think of them)
Sera Werner: One of the first people Yoshino has interacted with since coming to the academy. Though they're not particularly close, Yoshino enjoys spending time with her, and wouldn't mind getting to know her better.
Engel Werner: Apparently, Sera's older brother. He seems pretty nice, and Yoshino has come to like him. She likes how he appears to care deeply for his sister, and deep down, Yoshino wishes she could have had an older brother like him, as opposed to the one who constantly abused her.
Ace Venturro: He also seems pretty nice. Yoshino is fairly certain he's got a crush on Sera, and she can't help but root for the poor guy, especially since he has a lot of competition.
Vesta Dressler: Yoshino is now living with Vesta, who didn't even hesitate to offer her a place to stay upon learning that Yoshino was homeless. Overwhelmed by gratitude, Yoshino has officially gone from having a huge crush on her to genuinely falling in love with her. As a result, it's becoming increasingly difficult to hide her feelings...though, to be fair, they were never very subtle to begin with.
Ricki Jace: They haven't talked much, but she seems really cool. Also wouldn't mind getting to know her a little better.
Valda: A cute but very clumsy girl. She seems nice, though. However, she does not envy her powers one bit.
Shiori: A girl who lured Yoshino into her "Cool Losers Club" with the promise of infinite ham. Admittedly, she finds her to be attractive and has a mild crush on her. The fact that she was the first to refer to Yoshino as a friend is a large part of that. The infinite ham doesn't hurt either.
Danny Kazuki: He's...interesting...
Madeline Flanoir: Really pretty. She and Yoshino haven't spoken, but she seems really nice.
Crispin Mercer: Another one that Yoshino hasn't spoken to, but he seems like a decent guy. Apparently, Sera has a huge crush on him. Apparently, he and Engel are close friends.
Arietta Connally: Due to her being somewhat desperate to make friends and the simple fact that she's kinda gay, Yoshino is especially vulnerable to Arietta's power. As such, while she doesn't dislike or hold a grudge for the time she used it on her, Yoshino is understandably awkward around her.
Sera's ability is Holyfire also called Freshfire however due to an accident in her childhood she hasn't been able to use it since. It still exists within her and because of the ability she has to take
Daughter of Michael and Angelica Werner, little sister to Engel and older sister to her twin Fina who is in a coma.
The girls being abandoned by their mother shortly after their births while still accepting and favoring her son Engel and her husband. The girls raised by their father in the mean time only to have their mothers rejection reach it's limits at their father Michael's untimely death. Driven to the edge Angelica couldn't stand the thought of losing Michael and in a disillusioned state made a deal with the devil, literally. She'd sacrifice the two girls for her husband back.
Had it not been for Engel's interference neither of the girls may have lived. Sera doesn't remember much of that day. Only that she and Fina were put in their room that now had weird writings on the floor and walls as they were left to play. Then something happened, Sera and Fina started to fight while they were playing with their powers and when Sera hit Fina with her fire. Fina fell down and stopped moving. She wouldn't wake up and then Engi burst in. She had little idea that what happened wasn't her fault and still blames herself to this day for it.
After the accident support started to drop. Engel and Sera panicking of what to do when the Church came to their aid. But it wasn't just any church, it was the Vatican itself.
Engel and Sera have been on their own ever since living off of charity and the family insurance until funds ran low. Engel having to get a while child services breathed down his neck to take them both away and place them into good homes, but he wouldn't have it. He didn't wan to be separated from Sera, she was all he had left.
Instead Engel would hide Sera in a church while he went to work so the social worker wouldn't find her and take her. It was by miracle chance that one of those hiding days a Cardinal from the Vatican was there visiting and saw the small girl sitting in the church pew alone. Curious he asked the priest, Father Ainsley who she was and he informed the Cardinal of the situation. The Cardinal then then sank down in front of Sera and asked her what sort powers she had. She shook her head telling him she was bad and can't use fire anymore. It was small, child like, chit chat before the Cardinal pat her head and gave her a blessing leaving the small girl to turn her head letting her eyes follow him to the door.
Engel was at work when the Cardinal came to see him. He was dressed in normal but well tailored clothes, his priest collar on as he came into the convenience store picking up a water and then a pack of gum setting them on the counter. Engel rang him up and the Cardinal asks him about his sister. Engel immediately on edge about it when the Cardinal told him he had met her as he was talking with Father Ainsley. Engel told the Cardinal everything, there was a long pause and even Sera remembers the look on Engel's face when he came to get her that night and told her the story. About how the Cardinal looks up at him and asked "What if the church took on your burden?"
Fina was moved to a new hospital in Rome, where the Cardinal Mathias Anscom Beneditc promised she'd be taken care of. A it was a miracle for the two siblings as they were told all expenses for Fina would be taken care of by the Vatican. Because of this huge favor Engel promises to work to take care of himself and Sera. The Vatican agrees to this under the conditions that Engel and Sera attend the Academy because it's the 'safest place' for them.
Engel continues to work to meet their daily living expenses and he still worries about Fina, sending what money he can to the church as thanks. He and Sera live in a set of cheap place that allows super powers because of the insurance coverage. The two attend school normally but because they have no guardians are under the responsibility of the Vatican. They're good kids. Not religious or church bound by any means it's just the church helped them when no one else would or could anymore.
On Sera and Engel's student files and under Benefactor it said His Excellency Pope Saint Benedict Cleon Leith the XII.
RELATIONSHIPS
Sera's relationships are best described in the above image. Her social life at the school following that of a shoujo love protagonist in a dating sim game. She has many encounters and meetings with affections for each of them.
Currently Infatuated with Crispin Mercer whom she mentally refers to as her pretty little fish, or Shamu. Ace mentally refers to him as Whale. She doesn't say much of anything to him, still too painfully shy and taken back by how pretty he is to form words. Instead silently admires him through the pool room door windows during lunchtime or free period watching him swim and giving herself heart palpitations. Cris's theme
Other Affections she's encountered and burns a candle for.
Edric von Grier? (unsure of last name spelling) also known as GG. (his ability used to be perception when they started and he played video games a lot and has a fangirl following. GG stood for Good Game. Now his ability is geostones I think?) A pretty rich blond with his fathers gaming company who blew Sera's mind with how well mannered he was and acted towards Lucas Courtwater, she'd never seen such high class people interact with one another. He also has a sweet tooth and asked her to make him cake. They haven't interacted a whole lot but she did invite him to come with her to the Home Ec fake wedding since he was so nice to her. Ace refers to Edric as Pebble.
Lucas Courtwater - The Prince and teachers assistant and they sit beside one another in Art class. She watches him doodle and along with every other girl wants to be his muse because Lucas can make anything look good. With his artistic ability to bring pictures to life he has enamored her. He too doesn't hear her say much and she tends to bow to him from time to time since hearing he had some real royalty in his blood. Another beautiful rich blond in her life.(Sera also thinks Vesta wants to Date Lucas.)
Jerry Burton - Lucas Courtwater's best friend and class clown. Jerry makes her laugh even in her most loathed class and helps her over come her struggles with being embarrassed by doing something hilarious to take the pressure or attention off of her. He's always popping up at the most random of times teasing her, or offering to help and giving her a smile if she doesn't have one on her face. Despite his joker title she finds him quite the pirate of the heart. (Sera thinks Vesta may also like Jerry and wants to Date him too.)
Jason Royd - A magic user who has managed to snag an okay from her for a date but has stood her up countless of times and never made good on any of his promises. He's known as a player through school rumors and not very well liked but Sera wondered if maybe some of his words were true and he wasn't all just flirt. It also doesn't help that he and Engi seem to but-heads whenever they encounter one another. Curious of the blond she tries to talk to him when she can but he's very hard to understand with the emotions he goes through when he's around her making her wonder if maybe she's a problem for him. Ace refers to him as Magic Marker
Ace Venchurro - Her brothers best friend and now her personal tutor. Unaware of just how deep his affections are for her she treats him well because of how much he means to Engi. Not realizing how he interprets her words and kindness as returning affections and subtle flirting she asks a lot of favors from him and gives him many secrets to keep from Engi so he doesn't worry. She's able to talk to Ace easily and he makes her smile. Ace is practically family to her so she always has a soft spot for him if he ever needs anything.
Engel Werner - Her brother, the only person she has left out of the Werner family apart from her comatose twin sister Fina. He's raised her alone since she was nine and she's developed a flickering brother complex for him. Her perfect domestic side of sweet, caring, good cooking and cleaning skills is thanks to Engel's countless hours of reading girly fashion and women's magazines and sifting through the information teaching it all to Sera. He's unknowingly raised and turned his little sister Sera into what he would want to see or have in a girlfriend not realizing that his preference would make her the bane and blessing of the female/male school populous. It was too late to reverse what he had done and while Sera displays all the characteristics a man would want in a girlfriend or a wife Sera uses them all on Engi daily. Making him cute bento's and taking care of the house and him her way of seeing him smile and be happy in their worrisome existence.
He's fiercely protective of his little creation and won't give his Baybeh to just anyone.
Girl Friends
Sera isn't well liked in school amongst most of the female populous but she tries and has managed to befriend a few of them who she is immensely indebted to.
Vesta Dressler - Combat Class queen. Rumors, attitude and lack of her own skill kept Sera from associating with someone so respected and great but through a fluke of small talks and the Home Ec class's fake wedding assignment the two have become inseparable. Vesta has offered to train Sera in combat to help raise her grade up and Sera manages to continuously pair her up with any pretty face she talks about.
Ricki Jace - Dorm mother, Vesta's volatile frenemy, potential wedding crasher, and math genius. Ricki's lust for sweets and Sera's ability to cook have managed to unite in a goods trading friendship. After the 2nd floor haunting however guilt mostly eats at Ricki for unknowingly getting Sera involved in the fright fest.
Eileen - Engel's female friend whom he seems to be able to comfortably talk to without much worry. She's also part of the Gossip Club that is run by Shiori and is the first girl Sera ever really got to talk to. She always takes picture's of Sera's bento's and has the ability to talk to things and give them names and tells stories of what's going on or happened in their life. Most of them funny but Sera still isn't quite sure how to take her.
Madeline - A beautiful flaxen haired transfer student with an ice affinity. She too was someone Sera would've never really spoken too had it not been for the Home Ec fake wedding allowing her to finally meet the lovely girl. They don't talk very often, but Madeline seems to get along rather well with her brother. The two have also gone on a shopping trip together with Vesta. Sera's first girls night out to pick out a dress and one that left her in shock of how expensive formal wear could be and walking out of the dress store feeling like a million dollars.
Met but no heavy interactions
Professor Arthur - Attractive teacher who healed her fingers when they were crushed by a school wheely chair and nearly gave her and her brother detention when they stayed after school to research the ghostly rumor about the second floor being haunted.
Yoshino - A very quiet girl who gets straight A's and has caught Sera and Ace being quite secretive and affectionate to one another.
Yumi - The one who ran over her fingers with the wheely chair
Shiori - President and creator of the school Gossip Club and bestow-er of information unto the masses.
William - Vesta's male friend, very huge and talks funny giving off a blessed presence that feels smothering to her and makes Sera uncomfortable. She's unsure of why.
Amber is a Summoner, who relies on familiars to do her bidding. She has a wide variety of familiars she can summon. However, the drawback is she can only have up to two at a time, depending on the species she summoned. She also relies heavily on paper and ink to summon anything. Amber is also vulnerable herself when in battle and can't stray too far from her familiars. She keeps spare paper and ink in her bag at all times, in case of an emergency.
She can keep the familiar out with her as long as she wants, but once they are defeated in battle they are returned to their world where they came from. It doesn't take much toll on Amber to keep them summoned, but stronger and larger familiars take more mental effort.
Being a summoner is hard, as you must show no fear of the creature that you summoned. While Amber doesn't fear most of her creatures, she's had experiences where the creature she summoned was too much to handle.
List of familiars / creatures she can summon
Chaoshound: There's one Chaoshound in particular that is always summoned. How Amber can tell it's the same one is beyond anyone. She states that it's because of its eyes. She nicknamed him Fang and it seems to have a affection for the girl. These hounds differ from Hellhounds, as they specialize in chaos magic instead.
Powers: Dark magic, capable of creating dark spheres of energy. Super strength. Strong jaws. A rather tanky familiar. Their weaknesses are that they aren't too agile.
Banshee Dragon: This species of dragons are capable of deafening screams. However, due to their size, they are extremely fragile and must remain at a distance. They can create sonic voices that have the power to push an elephant off of its feet.
Powers: Stunning screams. Deafening screams. Sonic powered screams.
WIP > Born to two summoners > Father left her mother, resulting in her mother's deep depression > Resulted in mother being extremely strict with Amber > Moved closer to the school at a young age > Entered the academy in first grade, almost destroyed half a classroom with summoned familiar > Mother got remarried > Got Danny as a step-brother > Maintains a average in most of her classes > Well known for her Chaoshound, which she has nicknamed Fang
Lucas possesses Art Manipulation. Probably at the forefront of this ability is that he can bring paintings and drawings to life, and into the real world, with some limitations. The amount of time spent on the work of art, and whether or not the piece was of his own creation, affect how realistic the result is and how long it lasts, and it's a general rule that anything considered at one point living - plants, animals, people - will not pass for "real" under close scrutiny. Sentient things like animals and people also possess more of an artificial intelligence than anything else, effectively just being extensions of Lucas and drawing off his own soul for their existence, which is why he can't keep these up for very long.
Besides that, Lucas also has a keen mastery of art, beyond what he might have had without the power, and can speed along completing pieces by directing manipulating the materials he is using, though the result isn't of the same quality as if he had completed the piece in a more traditional manner. He can also easily complete some practical tasks like restoring damaged artwork.
He also brought someone back from the dead once, but that was something of a special occasion.
Lucas is the only child of Oliver and Regina Courtwater, and an heir twice over. The Courwater side is steeped in British and French nobility, with business interests throughout Europe. The Saughtterly's are best known for Saughtterly Enterprises - Lucas' maternal grandfather is the owner, and one of the world's wealthiest men. Despite the opportunity to be a rather high-profile family, Lucas' childhood was private and relatively normal. Though society and formal business gatherings were part of life, much of his time was simply spent at home in the company of his family. His powers began to show themselves early, but always a quiet child, he kept them entirely to himself until meeting his best friend, Jeremiah Burton. Even now, outside the academy, his parents are the only other people who are fully aware. The superhuman aspects of his artistic talents easily concealed, he did participate in school art shows and performing arts activities regularly.
He grew up rather idyllically with Jerry and attended a regular private high school until Jerry's illness was diagnosed and began taking its toll. His attention then switched to taking care of Jerry and spending as much time with him as possible. At Jerry's suggestion, he began to put a lot more energy into composing music and painting as a means to deal with the emotional hit of Jerry's impending death. The effort did little to truly help, however, until finally he threw his heart and soul into painting a final portrait of his friend, as he was when was still healthy and full of life. This painting, completed less than a day before Jerry's death, would be the one that his dearest friend and soul mate would come back to life through.
With Jerry back to life and with abilities much more conspicuous than before, it was decided that the pair would transfer across the country to the academy for superpowered students. Far away from the watchful eyes of his extended family and the whirlwind of familial obligations that had been something of a bombardment in recent years, adjusting to the new environment has gone pretty well and Lucas has found himself able to begin simply enjoying his final year of high school and the company of his friend. With most of his core classes out of the way, his course load consists mainly of art classes and teaching or office assistant positions, though he still takes a couple of academic courses of interest. He actually hasn't taken any classes remotely power-related or unique to the academy.
With the exception of a couple of school administrators, no one yet is aware of Jerry's "living painting" status or the fact that Lucas managed to unexpectedly bring him back to life. Most seem to have not thought much about it or believe how their powers coincide is a mere coincidence.
RELATIONSHIPS
Will be updated as needed.
Jeremiah Burton - Roommate. Best friend. Brother. Soul mate. Bromate, but that's just Jerry's word for it. They're basically inseparable so it's rare to see one without the other nearby. They're deeply bonded, even sharing a mental link.
Linette Amauri - Friend. Frequent musical partner and usually the only person standing in the way of her murdering Jerry slowly.
Vesta Dressler - Friend. They seem to share a mutual indifference and/or confusion regarding a variety of topics.
Sera Werner - Friend. They have art class together, and are working together on wedding preparations. If he could get her to stop bowing to him, that would be nice.
Ace Venchurro - Acquaintance. Fellow music club member. Most notable for the fact that Lucas and Jerry ship him with Sera.
Crispin Mercer - Acquaintance. They have Chemistry together; Jerry wants to throw glitter on him. Lucas is conflicted over whether or not to intervene.
If you consider the power of friendship being a superpower, then that's the shortest summary of Danny's abilities. That's probably an answer that could satisfy a person too, if it explained why Danny's clothes were so loose and bulky. Sometimes sitting next to him in class can be a curious distraction, because you're haunted by this soft hum that follows him wherever he goes. Or maybe you saw him in his ridiculous hamster tunnel jacket, where all of these flexible, plastic tubes bend around his arms and chest, and there certainly weren't any hamsters crawling inside of them.
Danny's power is "Samantha", an entity that consists of 500 bees that treat his entire body as a living hive. It's not as if these honey bees are crawling in his mouth and out of his ears, but Samantha keeps herself and Danny warm by snuggling up in his clothes, sometimes building parts of her hive on the fabric, making it difficult for Danny to strip for hygienic reasons, often causing arguments between the two. While Samantha doesn't communicate with words, Danny has been able to sense her emotions and desires for as long as he could remember, even going so far as to say that they share a similar mind. He calls it the 'Hive Mind', due to Samantha being not just a single bee. While the queen bee is definitely important, there have been times where the queen bee has passed on, but replacement queens have always been available, keeping the hive going strong.
One of the easiest ways Samantha communicates is by doing the bee dance, where a butt wiggle means go far, and each twirl and whirl points out the direction she wants to go. Sometimes Danny mimics this dance when he wants to send Samantha places, and you'll know if it works if you see a thick cloud of bees zooming through the hallways. It also took some training from Danny, but he was able to teach Samantha how to form shapes in mid-air, often expressing herself through question marks, exclamation points, and smiley faces, which he hopes makes her a little less intimidating.
While it's not recommended, Samantha can sting threats, but that doesn't do her much good against any of the students with elemental powers. The main drawback is the whole 'I can't sting anything if it has thick skin without dying' issue, but this can be prevented by biting instead.
If a scout dies while out on the field, Danny has no idea what that scout has experienced, but he has a sense of loss when he doesn't feel as if he has the right number on him by the end of the day. If a scout comes back to him with success, Samantha is able to communicate anything strange she witnessed or anything odd that she heard, but it won't be word for word.
Danny's power doesn't go away if all of Samantha dies, and if he's up to it, he can start up another hive if he befriends a hiveless queen.
Danny's situation hasn't changed too much from his Epoch AU, but there was a ton of family conflict because of his father's inability to accept Samantha. You have your strict, overbearing father who wants Danny to pursue his education, and then you have the carefree birth mother that's always trying to get him to skip and play hooky. While Danny grew up thinking he could be buddy buddy with his mom, things didn't work out like that. She always brushed him off, never kept her promises, and unlike his father, never got involved with his life. Even if his father doesn't really 'get' him, he still prefers his father over her.
While his father lacked any sort of talent or power, his mother abused hers all the time, often making Danny jealous because he didn't have a cool trick of his own. His parents assumed that he simply took after his father, which made sense, because as a kid, he had all of his mothers looks. Had to have something from his father's side, at least.
It wasn't until he was 6 years old, and he excitedly ran into the house, announcing that he made so many friends at school that day. Now this was in the middle of the school year, so his parents were perplexed until they saw their precious son covered in bees. His mom wasn't one to scare easily, but all she could do was stare in horror while his dad screamed and blasted the bees off of him with a fire extinguisher, eventually killing all of them as they rushed him to the hospital for stings or bites. To everyone's surprise, the sobbing, blubbering kid didn't have a single injury on him. Nothing at all. It was tentatively brought up that Danny could've had some sort of power that prevented it, but the suggestion was ignored.
At age 12, his parents officially divorced, leaving his father with full custody as he whisked Danny away to a city that offered better schools, and therefore a better quality of life. And that was when Danny met Samantha, a young virgin queen that was attempting to start a hive of her own. Danny still remembered the disaster that happened to him in elementary school, but Samantha gave him a chance to really explore and understand the strange gift he had with bees. It extended to wasps, but wasps were jerks, and he only had bad experiences with them. Bees were different though, and Samantha stood out to him. She made him laugh, and he was lonely at home, so he took her in without his father's knowledge.
It was easy keeping Samantha a secret when the hive was still small, but when his father remarried, adding a step-mother and a step-sister into the house, things became complicated. It wasn't long after Amber discovered Danny's secret, and at her insistence, revealed Samantha's existence to his parents when the hive started to get a little too big. While his father wasn't thrilled about the secret keeping, he accepted Danny's power for what it was, especially when his wife and step-child had powers of their own.
The only other thing that matters is that he was held back a year in the academy for using Samantha to cheat on his exams, so he's older than some of the students in his grade. He often has bad relationships with his professors, save for the few that let him goof off in class.
RELATIONSHIPS
Amber Kazuki: The step-sister that Danny claims would make a great Disney villain, but Danny and Samantha both make a point to look out for her. Samantha knew Amber since she was just a tiny little hive, so they go way back. Their relationship is proof that sometimes Samantha can just outright ignore Danny if she likes someone better, and usually Amber is right and Danny is wrong anyways, so she tends to listen to Amber over Danny.
Jeremiah Burton: Fellow trouble maker. Knocked Danny unconscious once with slick dance moves and a talent for singing.
Jason Royde: He does the THING.
Royale: Cute girl with flower powers that shares an English class with Danny, and while they aren't close, Samantha has taken a strong shine to her. Never forget the Venus Flytrap incident.
Temperature Control; Vesta can manipulate, create, and influence thermal energy on both sides of the spectrum; that is, both heat and cold; because of this, her abilities are very versatile. The most basic and common demonstration of her ability (due to her temper) is the ability to heat or cool the air around her to temperatures from “hot day in the desert” to “cold night in the tundra”, often in mere seconds. With this she has a range that can cover a significant portion of a battlefield. She can go further, though; due to her training in Combat Class, she has honed her non-conductive control to be able to throw ‘waves’ or even ‘bullets’ of temperature, focusing her effects into invisible fields and sending them as projects, melting or freezing things from a distance. This is more useful in combat scenarios, as otherwise she merely needs to focus and some seconds to heat or cool things.
However, direct hand-to-hand combat is where she is most dangerous. Temperature is easily to transfer through touch, and with her adrenaline pumping in combat, she can freeze or melt objects within just a few seconds as well as make her virtually unable to be touched by heating the air just around her, among other things. Because of this, ideally, Vesta prefers to influence temperature through direct touch though she’s more than capable of otherwise simply because it requires slightly less focus, especially if she needs to create a detailed effect.
Despite having extremely powerful and versatile combat applications, her experience is most visible in fine control from utilizing her power on an almost daily basis for day-to-day needs. She can heat or cool objects or the air and influence the temperature to such a degree that people near the event won’t feel a thing if she focuses enough. Her powers does this instinctively for herself; she could swim in lava or walk through the Arctic nude without having to worry about damage or death from the extreme heat or cold. This is why fire and ice users have trouble against her; she is not only immune to fire but can control it to a degree by manipulate its heat, the same for ice. Additionally, she has the ability to since the temperature of people and objects in her surroundings, akin to thermal vision, although she feels it rather than sees it.
Although she's been told she has incredible potential, Vesta’s powers currently have a few limits. The range of her influence, although fairly wide, does stop eventually, only able to influence an area about the size of a soccer or football field. As mentioned before, dynamic and detailed effects can take some concentration, and going to extreme temperatures outside of combat can take a few moments.
Arguably Vesta’s first friend since she discovered her power, the two have been friends for a couple of years now. In lieu of sleepovers and hanging out after school, they usually tend to just throw light-hearted jabs at each other and have back-and-forth sessions. Most of their time together is usually when they run into each other between classes or when Ricki is walking Vesta through the vicious hellspawn that is math. Not exactly the most traditional of friendships, especially since they as of yet know details of each others’ personal lives, but Vesta cares for her none the less, and is one of the first people she thinks of when Vesta needs someone to talk to.
William Rosenbach – Acquaintance
A friendship that is more one-sided than some others, William Rosenbach cares deeply for Vesta while Vesta views him more like ‘that guy that works in the church I know about’. While she thinks of his caring nature as uncomfortably overbearing at some points and his manner of speech outdated and occasionally annoying, despite this and the fact that they don’t see each other very often, Vesta does recognize that he is a good and kind man.
Sera Werner – Friend
Forced together by a faux wedding project, things started off rocky but a quick friendship was formed. Through unintentional charming and some awkwardness, Sera managed to make Vesta fairly attached to her. She now considers Sera a friend and quite enjoys spending time with her, although their interests don’t always coincide, especially where the wedding is concerned. Vesta almost thinks of her like a sister, even; for reasons Vesta is completely clueless about, she feels a protective urge over Sera whenever she is in a situation Vesta doesn’t like.
Lucas Courtwater/Jeremiah Burton – Friend
A relationship a little less clear than normal, since Vesta doesn’t talk with Lucas a whole lot, but she likes his company, but they tend to bond over indifference and/or confusion of quite a few topics. The same can be said for Jerry; they don’t talk often, but his antics tend to amuse her. At least, his Combat Class antics do; his more troublesome antics don’t amuse her that much.
Anything and just about everything to deal with plants is in her realm however there are a few kinks. She cannot create a new species of plant without combining those that already exist. She can control how potent a plant is so her Venus fly trap allure can be more powerful to draw in more bugs and keep her room pest free. She can only create plants of which she has touched or come in contact with. Which means field trips, lots and lots of field trips to nurseries and botanical gardens. She's touched several plants from all over the world because of these trips to green houses and in turn has a vast array of flora at her disposal.

Danny - aka Machete. They started out on the wrong foot literally. She had just moved into the dorms and was setting up her room when Danny kicked her door like a serial killer swinging over a misunderstood homicide of 10 bees/Samanthas. Though it was an accident they've been on a strained relationship ever since. Despite her still keeping the small jar of truce honey in her night stand.
Samantha - The victim and savior who frequents Royale's room whenever Danny and she have a fight. Half girlfriend, half a thousand drama queens.
Amber - Acquaintance. They bond over how asinine Danny can be and the gossip Samantha shares.
To put things simply, she's an unusual individual who can manipulate lightning and its various sub-forms. Although, EMPs are a bit in the "gray area" for her because every single time she touches a computer--or anything that requires technological interference to operate, they seem to either get fried, or explode after a few seconds. Apparently, it's her inability to control the EMP aspect that's causing all sorts of technological damage to happen whenever she's around...
In order to be able to "hide in plain sight" while on the school grounds, she masquerades as a "wall crawler", using static electricity in order to be able to climb any and all manner of surfaces. It's due to her trashing the systems so many times (even if she swears it was a complete and total accident) she keeps getting sent back to junior year; that along with one vindictive admin of the school that is trying to chase her down in order to make her pay for all the damage she's caused technologically is what's keeping her stranded in her current grade.
Power-wise, static electricity is one thing that comes naturally for her; she's also been jokingly called the school's "lightning rod" because even after getting struck by lightning in torrential rainstorms, it doesn't affect her too much. This leads to her abject fear of water; smack her with it and she'll short out, much like any electrical appliance. She's also discovered that her own emotions are apparently the trigger to either keeping or losing complete control of the lightning that she generates.
When her own power shorts out and backfires against her own will does she experience the side-effects of electrical burns; hell it's even knocked her out cold a few times in the past, due to too much electricity overloading her system. Too much anger can also lead her to temporarily fizzling out (read: knocking herself into a temporary coma of at least a week, two weeks tops due to all the lightning she generates); too much happiness, on the other hand, can lead to some pretty disastrous consequences... for any piece of tech near her!
Much of her early life is something that she'd rather not discuss at all--asides from the fact that she was born to two individuals who didn't want to take care of her because of all the "explosions" and "accidents" that happened whenever she got too excited or too exasperated. Abandoned at the age of seven by her biological family, she was forced to live out on the streets; toughing it out with other kids who dared pick on her. Once pushed too far, she'd zap whoever had dared cross her, causing them all to run away in fright, due to the unusual "properties" she exhibited.
In the end, nobody wanted to take her in... that is, until one of the local orphanages decided to scoop her up and out of the "thug life" she was exposed to. The story from there gets even longer; because after that first orphanage took her in, she was driven out not too long after, because of all the "accidents" that happen whenever she's around anything that's volatile or has the tendency to either short, fizzle, or just simply break down; earning the ire of one certain person who had attempted to adopt her, but had driven her away after sometime--all because her emotions would go haywire and cause his technological inventions, and marvels to just suddenly go up in smoke and make him start over from scratch. Hell, during the time she'd decided to run away from him (and ended up fighting him in the process), she'd caused a blackout in the entire city where they'd lived that lasted for a week.
People around her had thought of her as a "freak", until a certain halfway house that keeps track of individuals with "special abilities" had found her and taken her in; and here was where she was able to finally... "be herself" without causing too much damage. Of course, even a halfway house can only take so much chaos; so in order for her to be able to control her "wild" tendencies, she was sent to the Academy where other individuals with special abilities like herself attended; at a chance in order to gain some sense of "normalcy". Even then, who knew that someone with such abilities like herself would cause all sorts of mischief once again...
In order to get around, she masquerades as a "wall crawler"; therefore she is mistakenly listed in the school records as someone who can utilize static electricity to mount and climb across any known existing surface (but that just happens to be only one aspect of her power). Of course, she sometimes makes mistakes and lets her "real" powers reveal itself... only to fry the entire Academy's database due to over-excitement or overexertion. This has already happened several times, and with each time it occurs she gets sent back one grade into a lot of trouble with the school's administration. Right now, she's repeating her Junior year again (due to two system crashes that she'd inadvertently caused at the end of her previous Senior year attempt); because the deal she's struck up with the admins of the school was that if she can survive an entire year without any technological-related accident happening caused by her power, she can move on to the next tier of education.
However, this is proving very difficult, because the person who'd sought out to adopt her when she was younger was made an admin of the Academy; holding the position of Lead Technomancer.
RELATIONSHIPS
Not much yet, but she's encountered one guy:
Zernebog Romanov (although she doesn't know his name yet): met while she was apparently hiding in one of her "safe havens", where there are less "hidden cameras" to keep track of all the crazy superpowers going out of control. He's a bit dry (at least that's what she's noticed from their conversations) but he's quite sharp himself, having picked up on her own presence even if she was "hiding in plain sight" in the gymnasium.
Ergokinesis, or in layman’s terms Energy Manipulation. Most people would think that he was hiding what kind of energy he was really manipulating the few times he actually says what his powers are, and ask him to clarify what kind of energy he manipulates.
The answer? All of them.
So what exactly does ergokinesis entail? It allows Zernebog to create, shape and manipulate any kind of energy. He has trained himself to the point where he can freely convert one form to another with a high amount of efficiency though he still hasn’t figured out how to deal with the energy lost because of the transition.
He can even absorb them, some of which he can do automatically and others of which he actually has to focus on to absorb. In fact, Zernebog can sustain himself indefinitely as long as he has a source of energy to draw from. He likes food too much though so he often doesn’t go down that road unless absolutely necessary or if he needs to train extensively.
More experienced users of a certain energy form can out-maneuver or overpower his control over one that particular energy, though the struggle in pulling away control from him would depend on the difference between experience and power in manipulating that type of energy. For example, it’s actually only a bit difficult to wrest away kinetic or thermal energy control from him, but electromagnetic energy is extremely difficult –almost impossible in fact- due to how experienced with it he is.
Another factor to his control is his need to ‘visualize’or conceptualize the energy in his mind through some way, which determines how well he can control it and how fast he can react to it. He primarily relies on sight, touch and hearing for it, though he has been branching out on energy-sensing recently. However, he has been forced to focus on more combat-oriented aspects of his power for years, so that is slow-going.
However, while he doesn’t have a limit on how much he can manipulate and his manipulation doesn’t actually need any form of energy as long as he doesn’t convert it to something else, he does have a limit on how much he can produce. His personal reserves are fairly large, but they aren’t infinite and he has to be very careful to maintain them at safe levels at all times. He would need to recharge somehow if he runs low, and losing all of his personal reserves would actually drive him into a desperate, mindless frenzy for more energy until his reserves return back to normal. On the flip-side of the spectrum, if he absorbs too much energy he also goes temporarily insane because his powers go out of control and overwhelm his mind. However, he is much more violent and homicidal when crazed by overload than by depletion.
The school administration had asked Zernebog to stay discreet about his powers during his stay at the school and make sure only the staff knew about it as much as possible. As such, he masquerades as an electrokinetic, restricting himself to using and manipulating one form of energy while in public as much as he possibly can, though he has slipped up from time to time because of various reasons.

Ricki: She’s pretty much his best friend and the person closest to him in the school. They’ve been through a lot since he was enrolled in the school a few years ago and they became near-instant friends. After a near-falling out that resulted from his shaky control over his powers, he finally came out and admitted to her that he had been lying to her about his power since the beginning.
Vesta: She’s a friend/acquaintance who’s in a couple of his classes, who he nicknamed Red. They usually get along, but they do clash from time to time because of his mouth and her temper. She suspects that he isn’t just an electrokinetic like he claims to be after he messed around with her powers’ domain, but Zernebog was saved from confirmation by some of the teaching staff, leaving her suspicions as just that.
