The Partners-in-Crime
Momiji
Gardevoir ♀
Synchronize
One of Izumi's very first Pokemon, Momiji (also known as Momo) is actually the "love child" (as she jokingly calls it) between herself and a certain red-headed individual; who had originally caught her and presented the Ralts to her as a "journeying gift".
Her "parents" were supposed to go on a journey together, but this didn't go out as originally planned. She evolved into a Kirlia while her "mistress" was on a Safari Zone hunt; and finally into a Gardevoir after fending off some insane ghost-types at the Lavender Radio Tower.
As a Gardevoir, she is very perceptive, and thanks to the "empathy" that her evolutionary line naturally possesses, she can tell whether or not her mistress (or any of her team mates for that matter) is feeling up or down. She's considered as the "mother" of the entire army that her mistress owns.
Caught while journeying through the mountainous regions of Unova, Sora was a very fierce little Rufflet when he was plucked from the wild. Initially, he didn't want to listen to anything that Izumi would tell him to do; but over time, the two formed a close bond that was strengthened even further when he evolved into a Braviary.
Sora normally serves as Izumi's mode of "air transportation", and he doesn't mind flying all over the skies of the known world with his mistress astride him. He is a fierce fighter, and will protect not just his owner, but his team mates as well. Unofficially, he's known as the "big daddy" of the entire army; though his partner-in-crime claims to hold that spot. His partner-in-crime is Riku, a Hydreigon he'd helped beat into submission on Izumi's very first trek in the Safari Zone. His name means "sky" in Izumi's second language.

Arashi
Typhlosion ♂
Blaze
Son of Kaji, and Inferno's older brother, Arashi was also gifted to Izumi by that certain red-head when she made an off-hand remark about a "Christmas present" that he owed her for some time now. Acquired as a Cyndaquil, he evolved into a Quilava after burning up some Steel-types that had jumped him, and after going through a training gauntlet in Kalos, earned his "wings" as a Typhlosion (which were long overdue, as he was the last of the "core" group to evolve).
He's a very affectionate creature, always either nuzzling his mistress' boots, or tackling her legs whenever he gets the chance to be out of his PokeBall. Whenever he charges into battle, it's always to impress his "mumsie" or to show that he can hold his own; because while he was growing up, he's had some insecurities about himself.
He's also quite the embarrassed one whenever he’s with his mother, and the two always end up having sparring contests, to see who’s better—and Arashi just can’t seem to win against his own mother! He’s unofficially considered as the “big brother” of the army.
Loki here has a very interesting story—because for starters, he used to belong to Bunji, and he is the reason why Izumi’s own Ralts—now a Gardevoir—is now housed within a Love Ball. Originally, he was eager to prove himself worthy of his first master’s affections; but after being turned out into the wild not too long after he had captured Momo for her, he began to be filled with resentment.
This resentment continued to fester away at his emotional state; and after wandering around the wilds of Hoenn for so long, he had forgotten the rest of the moves that his red-headed master had taught him. Most of the moves were of a physical-nature; because from the looks of things, he was planning to raise Loki here into the male counterpart of her Gardevoir—a Gallade.
After a chance encounter with the same Gardevoir that he’d encountered a long time ago, he decided to follow her mistress—in the hopes of becoming a Gallade one day; the same dream that he had been wanting to reach for the longest time but was unable to because of the way he’d just been set loose in the wild that day, some years ago…

The Hustlers
Ivan
Tyranitar ♂
Sand Stream
Bought as a Larvitar long ago, Izumi didn’t put too much thought into training Ivan… until recent events made her think twice about suddenly picking up steam and trying out a strategy that had annoyed her so much during the last time she’d attempted while challenging a Gym Leader.
Built to last, Ivan is the classic example of a tank build for his species—strong, versatile—and while slow, can set up with powerful moves that can spell doom for whoever comes across his path. The time spent as a Larvitar had him chewing away at rocks in order to satiate his bottomless appetite; and while he was a Pupitar… let’s just say he rolled around a lot to get around.
He lost his immunity to Electric-types upon finally attaining Tyranitar form, but his sheer bulk is more than enough to make up for this little oversight. A fun fact about him is that underneath the rough-and-tough exterior he shows, he’s actually quite a softie, rivaling Sora in terms of overprotectiveness if any of his team mates are hurt or injured.

Kei
Swampert ♀
Torrent
Originally a male, Izumi had obtained Kei from one of the Professors in the Unova region; in exchange for a few of the other Water-types she’d amassed (at the time). To begin with, Kei’s first name was Yuya, and this Mudkip was just as kosher as any of his species would be—extremely playful and hyperactive.
A trip to the Safari Zone would change that all, however, as the Mudkip had gotten into an awful tussle with a Charmander while Izumi was hunting for a Larvitar in the Safari Zone, leaving three deep scratch marks running across its face; a feature that would carry over through his evolution stages. His… rather, her partner-in-crime is Draken, the Garchomp; as the two have a cohesive dynamic that allows them to work together without too much interference.
It should be noted that Kei has an irrational fear of the Charmander evolutionary line as well due to the traumatizing events that had happened in the Safari Zone; something that doesn’t bode too well with the arrival of Ravana, the Charmander. Never mind that she’s bigger than the small Fire-type, it just really stems back to that moment of weakness.

Luvart
Sandshrew ♀
Sand Veil
Luvart was one of the other ‘mons that had been caught at approximately the same time that Izumi had acquired Mausika the Trapinch—however, unlike her “compatriot” who was eventually trained and finally evolved into a Flygon, Luvie here hasn’t been called out into service yet—even if she does possess a killer move set as of now.
Just like all of her species, she loves digging—and if one would ask who’s better at digging between Draken and Luvart, the Sandshrew would insist that she’s the faster one—size and speed notwithstanding.
She thinks of the Land Shark Pokémon as her “rival” when it comes to matters of making tunnels and digging up holes—but of course, the Garchomp doesn’t know why every single time he lays eyes on the little mouse, he’s met with this look of blazing hatred!
Hydra was one of the Pokemon that Izumi had caught and had originally donated to the Steinhart bank while the team was still in operation; however upon dissolution of the Team, she had decided to take back as many of her original team members as she could—and had also chosen to pick up some of the ones she’d caught herself.
In a way, you could say Hydra, along with Shu and some of the others she’d taken back are “returning members” of her little horde; and since Hydra here is one of the biggest members, taking care of her had definitely posed a problem—until her sponsor’s Ranch had just recently expanded its land area once again!
Now that the “Grappling Rock” had been moved to the newer spaces that he had claimed, there is also a certain part of the entire Ranch that had been transformed into a desert; and this is where Hydra makes her home; and she is currently training under Ivan and Draken in order to get stronger.
A purchase made from a certain Breeder she’d been frequenting until the opening of her sponsor’s Ranch; just like Ivan, Izumi hadn’t put much thought into raising the then-Drilbur. So you can just imagine his surprise upon suddenly being called out to fight—and he was part of the “team” that had managed to stamp down the horde of Onix / Steelix into the dirt. In terms of “partners”, Carrie’s partner is Ivan—since the two discovered that they worked well together; and there’s a little quirk to his nickname as well: she had given him a female-sounding nickname just to throw off anyone who happened to hear her!
Out of the bunch, his personality developed into something extremely deadpan; because back when he was a Drilbur, he was just happy-go-lucky and carefree. Upon evolving into Excadrill, though, he gained all the wisdom and knowledge that his species could garner; therefore changing his personality into something a lot more serious and blunt. If need be, he’d wallop any misbehaving team mates with his appendages—since they’re not just for digging, they’re also for drilling; as he discovered quite recently—he could break through an entire rock with just one swing!
Another quirk about Carrie is the fact that his “pot belly” isn’t as pronounced as it is with other Excadrill.

Arion
Lairon ♂
Rock Head
Arion was caught as an Aron while Izumi was crashing around the dark Dewford Cave system; since she’d forgotten to bring along a light source—therefore ending up being chased around by bands of Sableye that normally called the place “home”. How she came across Arion is a very peculiar matter—she’d been chased out of the main cave proper and was nearing one of the many exits that opened out into the world when se chanced upon him, quivering in fright. It was mostly due to the Sableye band; as they were normally dubbed “the Dewford Bullies” ad they picked on anyone who didn’t share their obsession with shinies with them.
He had just happened to be at the right place, and the right time when she came stumbling across him; saving him from another storm of gems that they were chucking his way. After managing to drive off the Sableye, he had seen what the human girl was capable of, and decided to join her—because with a companion, he was stronger; with a human companion, he could become the “best”. He also has a secret goal—and that is to drive away “the Dewford Bullies” out of the Granite Cave; so that all the other Pokémon that had been bothered can return and live in peace!
A weird quirk for his species is that he’s quite heavy—heavier than most Lairon; whenever Izumi (or any other of his companions) tries to carry him, they end up dropping him back on the ground mere seconds after the attempt.

Muromachi
Doublade ♂
No Guard
Bred from her mentor’s Honedge (who is also a Doublade as of this writing), Machi—as Izumi calls him—is a force that shouldn’t be taken lightly. She had discovered that after some time training the sentient sword alongside her Skrelp, Myrkky that Machi wasn’t exactly one of the more “sociable” ones; preferring to stand off and work alone. The Doublade line are notoriously known for sucking the energy right out of whoever holds that cloth—something that she’d already experienced first-hand recently, and would never want to do so again.
The two blades that make up his being work in perfect synchronicity, always launching their attacks at the same time; so it is sometimes difficult to determine from which side the attack/s are coming from. As of the moment, Machi knows that he has spawn running around somewhere—twins who are with two different people; one of them is Kali, a certain Breeder’s Honedge while the other one is with another Trainer, though he doesn’t know the exact details just yet.
All that he is aware of is that he has twins, and secretly, he has a crush on Yukiya, the Froslass—though he is rather hesitant to just “go ahead and confess” because he may not be taken seriously. Right now, he is working towards evolving into his final form; and once he does… then maybe, just maybe, he can prove his worth to not just his mistress, but to everyone else around him.

Rhydon ♂
Lightning Rod
Purchased from a shady-looking individual back when she was just starting out Izumi had decided to keep Winston’s name instead of renaming the poor thing. As of the moment, she’s still unsure as to what direction she would take in order to raise him and finally make him into a Rhyperior; although he knows that he has some kids running around—and that they’re with a friend of his mistress’.
Just like Machi, Winston has a crush on another one of Izumi’s Pokémon; specifically, Myrina, her Walrein—but Myrina is scared—more like scarred—because of the initial rampage that he’d accidentally caused when they’d first met.
Like all Rhydon, he’s as bull-headed as they come; and even with his own intelligence (and the ability to stand up on two feet) he’s still as clumsy as they come whenever he deals with other individuals—be they Pokémon or human. Whenever he’s out and about, lounging with all of her other ‘mons over at Kouji’s Ranch, he is still thinking of ways on how to be able to apologize to the Walrein—to show that he really didn’t mean to scare and set her off like the way he did.

Rex is a Tyrunt Izumi had picked up from Bailey—err, Professor Finnigan’s lab recently; and regal as he is, he knows that his new “caretaker” would eventually have him go out in battle… and go on a rampage. Just like all the existing Tyrunt, he is as princely as they come, and has a very high sense of self-esteem; border lining on conceit and arrogance.
He has the desire to prove himself—even if it would eventually get him into trouble (and consequently, on the receiving end of a lot of scolding). But of course, he thinks he’s “above them all”, and treats everyone that crosses his path as either one of the following things: “food”, “subservient slaves”, or “you must die, you’re irritating”.

The Bustlers
Jack
Snover ♂
Snow Warning
Caught while their kind was swarming over in the Sinnoh region (and Izumi was just barely recovering from an event that had changed her forever) Jack here is just like any other Snover—peaceful, amicable… but prone to whipping up a blizzard if provoked! The blizzards are because of his Snow Warning ability; and Izumi was under the mistaken assumption that he could summon ice and snow at will.
Apparently… she was not mistaken on that count.
Right now, he’s just lounging peacefully with her sponsor’s Snover over in his Ranch, having successfully turned one of the Ranch areas into a perpetual “winter wonderland” even if Humilau is known for its tropical weather, which is saying something in itself because the tropical heat of Unova’s northern beach city reduces any attempts of snow to nearly zero.
Caramel is a Vanillite acquired from a breeding done by Kouji; because an individual was looking for a Snorunt with Spikes—and there just happened to be two eggs and he’s the other one. Technically, his father is Hyouga, but he prefers to act on his own. Unlike his coward of a father (since he is still a Snorunt as of this writing), he is quite courageous—despite his diminutive size.
Even if people make fun of the Vanillite line because they’re considered as “sentient living ice cream cones”, Izumi has made it clear that Caramel is a unique individual with quirks and a personality he can call his own. As of the moment, he also runs loose along with all the other Ice-types at the “winter wonderland” over in Kouji’s ranch in the Unova region.
Sammy had been given to her (along with Raikiri) by a self-made scientist named Vincent Pendragon, and to be honest, Izumi hadn’t had the slightest idea on how to raise her.
She’s yet to actually officially interact with the female Sneasel outside of the initial purchase; but then realized that her dual-typing would be potentially useful for a Blizzard-centered team, with Jack taking the lead. As of now, Sammy is running free over at her sponsor’s Ranch, having fun in the “winter wonderland” that the two Snover had constructed due to always bringing down a blizzard that even Humilau’s tropical weather couldn’t make a dent in.
Once she does get the courage to start raising Sammy, she’ll be eventually called into service; but for now she’s on “vacation” mode, making all sorts of ice sculptures and having fun with Jack as well as Hyouga and all the other part-Ice types that call the “tundra” part of a Taste of Home’s Ranch their own little paradise.
Yukiya was found swarming as a Snorunt over in Sunyshore City during the holiday season, not too long after she'd begun her journey. It had taken a lot of antics coming from Asuka, her Mienfoo (and an overzealously-aimed Aura Sphere) in order for the little quivering, Snow Hat 'mon to come join them. After that, it took to hiding so much in her Friend Ball for her to even come out... because she was just really too scared to face the world!
It didn't take too long for her to finally evolve into a Froslass—and once she did, all form of shyness fell away; because the sudden evolution gave her a boost in terms of self-confidence, as well as her vanity (since the Froslass line are supposed to be naturally beautiful, anyways).
Her greatest battle to date is against Roxanne’s Nosepass; where she had managed to knock it down; but also knocking herself out cold in the process due to her type disadvantage—that along with the crazy Sandstorm condition that was ripping through the field at the time. For now, she is recuperating within her “residence”; just waiting for the time that Izumi would call her out into service once again for some training…

Hyouga
Snorunt ♂
Ice Body
Hyouga had been obtained in a trade with Aeon Pendragon; in exchange for one of Makara’s siblings. The Breeder had even left the Snow Hat Pokémon with her with a message to take care of him; since apparently, he was very proud of winning a contest with the Snorunt in question. As of present moment, Hyou along with the other Ice-types that Izumi owns, are currently having the time of their lives in the Ranch’s “winter wonderland” area, because snow always falls from the sky; even if the “world” outside the everlasting winter is that of an extremely hot summer day.
Izumi knows that he’ll make a fine Glalie; the problem is actually finding a decent place to let Ice-types train in relative peace without getting smashed and pushed over too much, because of the unique quirks that their typing possesses.
A fun fact about Hyouga here is that he looks up to Yukiya like a big sister—and little does he realize that he also has quite a number of rivals for the Froslass’ attention! Much like his species, he’s shy around other Pokémon… unless they’re also of the Ice-type; which explains his hanging out a lot with Sammy and Jack.
Myrina had come into Izumi’s possession in a very unusual manner—she had found the then-Spheal in a swarm which was ironically, very far away from the home region where they were first discovered (Hoenn). After being enticed by Momo’s antics, she had decided to go along with them; and then began her training under her new mistress. She evolved into a Sealeo after taking down some pesky Rock-types with a lot of concentrated water power; and finally earned her wings as a Walrein by single-handedly facing off against Draken, and successfully taming the savage Dragon-type that was a bit too trigger-happy and aggressive that time.
A fun fact about her is that Winston (the Rhydon) apparently has a crush on her, but due to her Hidden Ability (which just happens to be Oblivious) she just… doesn’t care about anything at present. Since she’s like a walrus, she’s often found swimming deep underwater; as opposed to all the other Ice-types hanging out in the “winter wonderland” that they’d created over at the Ranch where they roam free, waiting to be called into service. She’s also considered as the “big mother” of the Ice-types, since she gives them a stern lesson courtesy of Body Slam if they disobey her orders!

Koutei
Amaura ♂
Refrigerate
Koutei was a very lucky find of Izumi’s when the Safari Zone had been buzzing with rumors that there were new breeds appearing throughout the area; and even if the Amaura here is a male, she secretly wishes to make him a female (just to make her the polar opposite of Rex, the Tyrunt).
As with all Amaura that are known to exist, they were (or are?) the natural prey of the Tyrunt line, so she has taken a note not to have Koutei and Rex out together in a single area—because if that were to happen, chaos and one hell of a rampaging mess would emerge from the point of impact!
Koutei here is quite timid for his species, preferring to hide in the “winter wonderland” that the other Ice-types have created on the Ranch they call their grazing grounds—and only coming out whenever Myrina threatens to toss her entire weight against the little Tundra Pokémon!

Kuma
Cubchoo ♂
Snow Cloak
Kuma was originally Izumi’s second “starter”; and was given to her by an old friend in Lavaridge in order to be able to at least get started on her journey—but then things decided to take a turn for the extremely interesting; and the Cubchoo was then relegated to what was at first, “cold storage”.
Then, upon realizing that there was an actual place where he could roam free, without worrying about his snot drying up and weakening the effectivity of his Ice-type moves—she decided to send all of her other “army” members who were sleeping in cold storage to her sponsor’s Ranch, where they now roam free (and give the poor Breeder a run for his money—thankfully she provides the cash needed in order to buy the huge amount of feed that’s needed to go around for everyone else), running… “wild” and just basically having the time of their lives.
Interestingly, Kuma had somehow “adapted” to the constant heat of Lavaridge, so his own “snot power” doesn’t dry up as fast as all other normal Cubchoo would. This also gave him quite an advantage—most others would see him as “weak” due to the sudden weather changes, but they’re in for a surprise when they see him wielding his Ice-type techniques without too much difficulty, despite the drastically different temperature of his surroundings…
Terrence was named after a certain character in a certain game that Izumi had gotten hooked on at the time when she’d acquired him, she came to realize that the little “pig” wasn’t as foul-tempered (nor as sadistic or masochistic) as his “name-sake”. Surprisingly, the Swinub is down-to-earth and quite affectionate; although as of the moment, Terry here (as she loves giving nicknames atop their own given ‘names’) is just fine, chilling with all the other part-ice types over at a certain individual’s Ranch.
He’s the one responsible for causing quite a bit of havoc whenever “snowball fights” start happening in the “winter wonderland”. He knows that he’s just chill, taking his time, waiting for the moment that she would call him into service—and once he does evolve, he would be basically the epitome of the “big friendly giant”.
Flip, otherwise known as Flipper, was a very precocious, if somewhat extremely overfriendly Seel that Izumi had acquired from Kouji. Seeing as the little one was just way too friendly, she let the sea lion “have it her way” by always climbing into her arms and licking her face until it got drenched with slobber. It’s just that Seels are naturally friendly creatures, and they rub off on their owners.
She’d decided to take Flip along on a jaunt to the Safari Zone; and after crossing two Drilburs, an Axew and yet another Deino, she was surprised to watch as the playful little Seel had finally evolved into a Dewgong, graceful but still playful. Right now, Izumi is on a training spree; and wants to raise as many ‘mons as possible; because she just wants to be on the safe side and to be “always prepared” no matter what.
Now that Flip is a Dewgong, some of the extreme playfulness had mellowed down somewhat; as she sees herself now as a dignified sea creature. But there are still moments when she reverts back to her pre-evolution mindset, and will always catch anyone by surprise by landing a big, wet, slopping kiss all over them!

The Reality-Benders
Rachen
Gastly ♀
Levitate
Rachen was one of the first few Pokémon that Izumi had caught on her trip to Kanto—she was looking for an Abra, yet ended up crossing this ghostly one’s path. She knew that having a Gengar on a team was always a good idea—she knew lots of people that she’d met on her journey had used some kind of evolution from this particular line in one way or another. She wasn’t exactly expecting to catch another Gastly while she was looking over in another region, so she now has two of the same Pokémon with her.
Of the two Gastly, she’s the more “laid back” one, and loves to play pranks on every single one of Izumi’s other ‘mons who now run free at the Ranch they call “their second home”. She just happens to be good friends with her sponsor’s Dusknoir and Mismagius, and looks up to them like parents. In fact, the two had taken it upon themselves to teach all of the other ghost-types now haunting the Ranch on what they know of their trade…
Lumiere was acquired as a Litwick while Izumi was searching through the region of Unova for another Pokémon she wanted at the time. Initially, as a Litwich she didn’t know that his “helpful” light would actually be the gateway to something beyond her craziest imagination—as she’d read only sometime later that Litwick (and its evolutionary line) had the tendency to suck out souls with the “cold fire” that burned within them.
That made her slightly afraid, and now that he’s a Lampent, things only seem to be getting worse: after communicating with Bel (her Kadabra) about the “other spirits” that were hanging around the Lampent, she got the shock of her life: spirits of the recently dead tended to flock around a Lampent, as well as the next of its kin, the Chandelure.
This mystery is now what gives her the “drive” to raise several Ghost-types; because she wants to actually confirm if there is something about the “afterlife” that the ghost-types can pick up on. Even if Lumie here is just hanging around the Ranch as of the moment, there are weird rumors surrounding the place, wherein there are dead spirits wandering through its vast fields late in the dead of night, apparently drawn to the several Ghost-types that make the Ranch their (first and second) home.

Belphegor
Kadabra ♂
Inner Focus
Like all of his species, Bel (as his previous evolutionary form) was one very lazy Abra; preferring to sleep rather than to hang around anyone in general. Initially, some of her ‘mons had tried the “diplomacy” card in order to try and tempt the Abra to come along with them; but seeing as that failed, they ended up chasing down the crafty, sneaky little Psi ‘mon until he’d gotten so tired to Teleport, he let himself get sucked into the Fast Ball that she’d chucked at him.
He did put up a fight; and after wrestling him down, only then did he accept the fact that he was going to be travelling with this bunch of weirdos. He had evolved during a few more battles; and now that he’s a Kadabra, he’s much smarter than he is—and imagine the shock on both Izumi and Kouji’s faces when he started talking!
Well, it wasn’t talking out loud per se, he was projecting his voice into their heads and communicated to them via that method. He enjoys having these kinds of conversations with the Breeder that his mistress is acquainted with, and knows the feeling that the ash-haired caretaker is going through (which is having psychic powers, but not as strong as Bel’s)—he’s often found meditating underneath a tree, or if kouji’s home, the two can be found in some quiet corner of the Ranch, talking to each other; yet not saying a single word at the same time.
Originally, Izumi had donated Rachen to the then-Team she was affiliated with in order to be able to give the team a boost with other types of Pokémon; which led her to look for another Gastly in order to be able to fill the void that the first one had left behind. This led to her acquiring Drachne, another Gastly she’d found while searching for even more ‘mons for the team she was working with.
Upon finding out that the team she’d joined had dissolved (and thus allowing her to get back a lot of the other ‘mons that were stored in there) she then realized she now had two of the same type with her! Of the two, Drachne is the more serious, quiet—mature if you would—and has a poker face so impassive, nobody can ever tell what she’s thinking.
Izumi knows that she can rely on Drachne whenever she gets herself in a bind; and this particular Ghost-type had decided to take up the mantle of seriousness to the nth degree. She doesn’t exactly like hanging around her more boisterous look-alike, Rachen, but if needed, she can tolerate short periods of being with their fellow Ranch-dwellers from time to time.
He is the older of twins that Izumi had purchased from her sponsor; in fact the two are the kids of Kouji’s own Ghost-types! Unlike their parents, however, they have completely different personalities. Satoru here is the “voice of reason” between the two; since after all, he assumes the role of older sibling. He’s completely and totally overprotective of Chie, his twin sister (who’s younger by a few minutes) and would freak the hell out if something bad would happen to her while on his watch.
What he doesn’t realize though, that the way he’s acting around her is driving her crazy; but he is completely and totally oblivious to the fact that his overprotective, almost obsessive intent to protect her is driving her through the wall, and that’s saying something.
He’s also a sucker for rules, so if his ‘boss’ says “don’t do it” or “stay right there”, nothing will sway his hand to follow her orders to a tee. Because of this notion, he’s perceived as a completely stuck-up, stickler-for-the-rules kind of Duskull, something which ghost-types normally don’t confine to; because Ghost-types in general are wild, free and ultimately rebellious from their Trainers—unless they prove their worth to handle their own kind!
She is the younger of twins that Izumi had purchased from her sponsor; and just like Satoru, Chie knows that her parents are the Ghost-types under his care. If her older brother is the spitting image of their father, she’s like a mirror to her mother; however her personality is a lot more… rebellious than her twin brother’s. She is not one for rules, and whenever she gets a chance to defy or break them, she will get out there and do every single way to break them into a million pieces along the way.
There’s also something that is driving her absolutely crazy and up the wall; and that’s her twin brother’s obsessive drive to protect her from any sort of harm or danger. While she does appreciate the sentiment in the actions that Satoru is doing; the way he goes about to doing it is just one that’s already driven her a little crazy on more than one occasion.
Unlike her calmer twin, Chie has a hidden sadistic side; most likely born because of her brother’s extreme obsession with watching her every step. She can’t wait for the time she finally evolves and can show him that she never really did need his “guidance” in the first place.
Hana was one of the adopted from the Steinhart bank; and seeing as she’s a Kalos-native, Izumi wants to get to know more about her. She finds the description of Inkay being the “Revolving” Pokémon (or was it rotating, she forgot which one) kind of confusing—how does it tie in with an Inkay, per se?
Her owner really wanted to name her after a certain Lovecraftian Eldritch horror, but seeing as her sponsor had beaten her to the chase with the name (plus his was more appropriate, since the name is apparently tied to a Tentacool he owns) she’s not going to argue about it.
Right now, Hana can be found lounging with all the other saltwater Pokémon who are just lazing and lounging in the Humilau surf at the Ranch.
Macha here has a very interesting story: for starters, he had a different nickname but lost that when Izumi decided to donate him, along with a few others, into the Steinhart bank. Upon the team’s dissolution, however, she then seized the chance to get back as many of her original ‘mons (plus some others) as possible; and the Duosion that had a nickname which she’d forgotten returned; and was subsequently renamed into his present “incarnation” today.
As a Psychic-type, he has some control over the power leaking out from his form; but knows that in order to become strong enough, he would have to get his hands dirty—and that’s saying something, because he isn’t one who likes fights in order to be able to get stronger; as he prefers to meditate on things in peace and quiet. He can be found hanging around Bel, the Kadabra, over at the Ranch—watching the far more experienced Psi ‘mon demonstrate the capabilities of its own Psychic power.
Shu is one of the babies she’d picked up from the Steinhart bank; why she chose him she’ll never know. All she’s aware of is that his evolutionary form is capable of producing some of the strongest barriers that can be used to protect her team mates! The little snag here is that the Mime Jr. is being a bit too playful and immature to actually try to grow up and become stronger (because of course, the power that a Pokémon generates is directly proportional to their evolutionary level).
She is still trying to figure out how to raise and take care of him, so as of the moment he can be found playing with all the other younger Pokémon over in the Ranch—or if he’s feeling a bit playful, conjuring up invisible “barriers” that several other occupants at the Ranch accidentally walk into!

The High Rollers
Draken
Garchomp ♂
Sand Veil
Partnered to Kei whenever they go digging for Badlands treasure hunts, Draken here is a natural-born digger. As for his species, the Gible line love tunneling; but for Draken, it’s quite… an obsession. The reason why the two were paired up was because, first off, their team dynamic helped subdue a certain Larvitar that had crossed their path; almost risking his life by using Dig in order to be able to deliver up close and personal hits against the Larvitar tha's now in her mentor's possession.
Izumi then realized that the two worked well together, and often left them to their own devices. He’d evolved ahead of Kei, therefore leaving the then-Marshtomp quite surprised because they’d made a pact that they would evolve together no matter what happened.
He was also quite shell-shocked to discover that his male partner had suddenly turned female without him knowing it—but in the process, he’d started developing feelings for hi—her; though the Swampert is oblivious to that as of the moment! He watches out for the other members of whatever team he ends up in like a big brother. He prefers to fight unaided; letting Izumi steer his actions in the right direction if something goes wrong—or things get really hairy, as he still tends to lose his head from time to time.

Mausika
Flygon ♂
Levitate
Mau, otherwise known as Mausika, was a very timid Trapinch when Izumi first got him, while wading through the knee-high sand in the Hoenn Desert. Always having the tendency to flop over whenever he pitched too far forward (because of the size of his head), therefore giving him self-confidence issues.
All of his old personality issues was lost when he evolved in a fight that very nearly cost them their lives—an entire horde of nine Onix and Steelix. It had taken them a long time, but with a combined effort, they had managed to bring down the whole horde—and he was one of the five that evolved in the process!
Suddenly gaining the power of flight, it helped him gain more confidence. He finally reached his Flygon form after helping fend off some rampaging Spinda that were threatening to swamp Fallarbor Town and send it into chaos while the residents were cleaning up the residual ash fall.
Since then, Mau has been the ever-helpful little Dragon-type, helping clear out Snowbelle’s abnormally large fallout of snow that threatened to swallow up the entire town and turn it into a living popsicle! Notably, Mau’s attitude as a Flygon seems to have become one more silent, yet helpful.
Caught as a Deino on Izumi's very first Safari Zone trip, Riku was never one who would easily "bow down" to a greater authority. Being blind, she then decided to turn his weakness into strength, training Riku by “sound”; and not by “sight” as people normally would have their Pokémon do so—since the Deino line is blind, but suddenly gains the power of “sight” upon reaching the Hydreigon level. Riku evolved into a Zweilous after fending off some crazy ‘mons that were coming after them—and this was where she discovered that the Deino line are extremely hard to train!
After several more fierce battles, the Zweilous attained his final form; and Izumi sighed in relief; moreso because feeding two dragon heads was doing a number on her bank balance, plus having two heads always arguing kind of got on her nerves! Normally, Hydreigon are suddenly blessed with the gift of "sight", but Izumi's Hydreigon chose not to open his eyes until the worst possible time—after finding out that he was trapped in a huge chunk of ice! This then drove Riku nuts, and as of now, she is having a hard time controlling him, due to the sudden sensation of "sight" assaulting his field of sudden vision.

Gabriel
Salamence ♂
Intimidate
Gabriel was a Bagon that Izumi had stumbled upon while going on a search in the Safari Zone. This particular Pokémon just happened to be one of the few she’d encountered while she was trying to search for a Larvitar (when her shisho gave her a mission to look for this particular creature) and even if she wanted to catch it right then and there, she couldn’t—because there were two other ‘mons with her who were watching the proceedings unfold—with very interesting results.
After that particular jaunt in the Safari Zone, she had finally managed to go on a more “personal” trip and then stumbled across the Bagon that had eluded her the last time—and after sending out Machi, her Honedge to subdue it, she had finally acquired the Dragon-type that had eluded her for the longest time.
Weathering through several training gauntlets, he’d managed to evolve into a Shelgon—and after another trip to the Safari Zone (and whacking a Rotom into submission along with the help of a Totodile that his mistress is raising for a client) he has finally realized his dream—Gabriel now has wings, and is finally a Salamence. The first order of business: teaching him how to fly with Izumi astride on his back. It’s slow going, but they’re getting there…

Kairi
Dragonair ♀
Shed Skin
Kairi was obtained as the result of borrowing a fellow Breeder’s Dratini and getting just one roll from the breeding attempt—in fact, she was a present from Jovia, a Breeder that her mistress was on friendly terms with before said Breeder mysteriously up and left the area. As a Dratini, she is a very gentle creature; disliking the notion of getting into fights.
If she would get tangled in a fight, she would only do so out of self-defense; because she believes in the tactics of diplomacy and “talking things out” before raising a finger—or a tail—to defend her own skin. As of now, she runs—rather, swims free in the freshwater “lake” that was recently added to the Ranch grounds; along with the other Water-types and aquatic-inclined Pokémon that don’t like swimming through the saltwater waves and surf.
For some strange reason though, the little pacifist Dratini had suddenly evolved (without Izumi knowing) and is now displaying a wildly different personality.
Before the rumored “sixth generation” of Pokémon started appearing, Izumi was pretty close to completing the entire collection of Dragon-types she had at that time… and Axew was one of the missing dragons that she hadn’t acquired yet. She had been putting off on going to the Safari Zone and just catching one for herself; but due to so many things happening at the same time, she never got the chance to actually do so.
Instead, she ended up buying an Axew egg, which eventually hatched into Kiba, who just loves sharpening his oddly strange protrusions on anything… and everything that moves. Since he’s just a baby, he’s more on the extremely rough-and-tumble side, still trying to make sense of the world as he knows it. More often than not he can be found lounging near the “Grappling Rock” trying to sharpen the tusks that are growing sideways out of his mouth.
Draconia is another one of the babies Izumi had adopted from the dissolution of Team Steinhart. Since she’d been practically “plagued” with her species whenever she used to go on hunts in the older “version” of the Safari Zone, she hopes that the taking in of Draconia under her wing would actually put a stop to the “plague” that had been bothering her for a long time.
Since Draconia here is the classic example of what a dragon is—from the wings and spikes down to the face and its coloration, she didn’t know that she would have a very hard time raising someone as bad-tempered, foul-mouthed and had a generally horrible disposition against her!
It is expected, after all, from the Druddigon line that they’re as stubborn as a herd of rampaging Tauros—and even more harder to tame than the normal “savage beast”. She’s been rumored to have bitten several other Pokémon while on the Ranch grounds; and is proving very difficult to calm down.
Myrkky was bred, just like Machi, from one of her shisho’s Pokémon. One could say that the two are “siblings”, since they were picked up and raised by Izumi at the same time. However, there’s one slight quirk about the Skrelp in her care: he’s not a very sociable creature; preferring to be by his lonesome whenever he’s with her.
She had discovered this while trying to train the two together—while the sentient sword was showing complete willingness to cooperate with the weird poisonous sea horse, the opposite just happened to be true. Call him bull-headed if you may, but Myrkky has this mentality of “if you’re not going to cooperate, you’re just going to drag me down” and will not follow his mistress’ orders of working with another—at least, not until they’ve proven their strength to him.
Of course, she has no idea about her Skrelp’s present “mentality” state; and is trying to exercise his being incredibly stubborn by trying to pair him up with other Pokémon that she owns… with little to no success on her part.
Ishi here, otherwise known as Ishtar, was the result of her sponsor’s frustration. It had taken him several tries before he finally managed to score a single egg from the failed attempts in order to be able to fulfill his benefactor’s request! Ishi’s father is the “almighty” Sora, a very close friend and protector of her mistress’. Much like her dad, she’s precocious, curious, and will rush head-long into anything that screams “danger, come and get me”!
Her current move build is more on support though; a role she doesn’t mind filling in. She likes being able to help, even from the sidelines—a key difference that sets her apart from her Braviary father; who’s always rushing headlong into things and always ends up getting beaten so bad; all to protect everyone under his watch. She got her reckless streak from him; a trait that will carry on and persist even as she becomes a Noivern.
For now though, she’s just the cutest little thing one can ever see—always hanging around Izumi whenever she gets the chance to be out and about.

Flowing Motions
Ryuen
Gyarados ♂
Intimidate
Ryuen here formerly belonged to an Orre Gym Leader—one who was called Alister Kingsley. When Izumi acquired him due to the fact that the guy who used to be heading the Water-type gym in that region suddenly decided to go on an exodus and “see the world”, she didn’t realize that this Gyarados actually had a trauma—a trauma unknowingly caused by two individuals she’s pretty much acquainted with.
Of course, since nobody can understand what Pokémon are saying, she can only guess what makes him…roar in rage whenever he makes his appearance. As expected of all Gyarados, he is fierce, proud, and absolutely violent—if you’re on the receiving end of his attack, that is. He is very protective, rivaling Sora and Ivan in terms of ferocity whenever someone he’s grown quite close to is harmed.
As of the moment, Izumi is still practicing with Ryuen—in terms of being able to ferry people across long stretches of water. He’s not very accommodating with having people on his back, and is proving quite a kindred spirit to tame and warm up to.

Mariko
Milotic ♀
Marvel Scale
Mariko was originally caught as a Feebas by Izumi—however; she had already acquired one of her own by that time, so she ended up going with a certain red-head. Little did the Tender Pokémon know that she would be “going home” to her original owner; not too long before the red-head had been killed. Thankfully, with the short time that she had spent with Bunji, she was raised into one that could hold her own—and at the same time support her team mates when necessary.
Now that she has been returned to her “original” mistress, Mariko spends her days lounging in the surf over at her sponsor’s Ranch—and treats everyone who isn’t as pretty as her like dirt. Ironically, her own personal vanity had rubbed off on one of her children—Ravana, the Charmander that is also under her mistress’ care. Even if she’d haughtily glared down at Enzo the first time they’d met while in the Ranch, she couldn’t help but wonder; what had caused the scars on the bipedal fire-breathing pseudo-dragon’s neck?
As of now, Izumi is contemplating on having her as the lead of a Rain Dance-oriented team; but still needs to work on fine-tuning a cohesive strategy, among other things.

Shuyin
Mudkip ♂
Torrent
Shuyin is the result of a breeding request that her shisho had requested—and ironically, his mother is Kei, her first Mudkip-now-Swampert. Just as expected of all Mudkip babies, he’s a very rambunctious little thing, chipper and kosher as they come. If not together with his mother, he can be often spotted playing with Sakura the Froakie, as well as Rakka and Karitt; along with Kouji’s own Water-types running loose around the Ranch.
Evolving and getting strong is the least of his worries now; he just wants to enjoy being wild, young and free. He doesn’t like being tied down to one thing, and is always a rolling bundle of energy, always rolling around and proving difficult to keep up with. His carefree ways were definitely inherited from his mother; because even when Kei was still a young Mudkip named Yuya (and was still a male before eventually becoming a full-fledged female) she proved a lot of trouble keeping still in just one place!
Nixe is an Empoleon who has a huge "pride issue", which is common to her species. It took Izumi quite some time to bond with her, because by nature, Piplup believe that they are “above the world” and that they can survive alone. Apparently, as it turned out, Nixe could not survive alone, so after many arguments, she finally began to listen, rather begrudgingly, to her. It had taken so many battles for her to evolve from a Piplup to a Prinplup, and that’s when the two began to associate more with each other; not just by following the “Trainer – Pokemon” dynamic.
It had also taken quite a few battles for her to finally grow into an Empoleon, and now that she has reached her final form, she’s quite like Sora—only a bit tamer, since whenever Sora sees his team mates suffering, he’ll go berserk and fight to the finish, even if it means he’d lose.
Nixe knows how to hold back, but whenever desperate times call for desperate measures, she’ll break out the “big guns”, so to speak. She’s also considered as the “older sister” of most of, if not all, the Water-types in Izumi’s rather large family.
Rakka the Oshawott was an unexpected find during one of Izumi’s earliest trips to the Safari Zone; and boy was she an incredibly feisty one to take down. Proving quite elusive to capture, it had taken Izumi some time in order to wear down the little one, before finally managing to corner it and defeat it in a fierce battle.
Now that she gets to run free at the Ranch in the Unova region, Rakka is now proving quite troublesome, always behind any kind of prank—or weird happening—whenever there are Water-types involved! She gets along quite well with Shuyin and Sakura; always engaging in friendly sparring matches with her fellow Water-types.
A fun fact to note is that whenever someone tries to grab the scalchop that Rakka loves tossing around, she’ll go into a full rage and chase them down—and eventually end up smacking them upside the head once she retrieves said scalchop! Apparently, the shell is a part of her body, and she’s very protective (more like obsessive) about it.
Sakura was one of Izumi’s ventures into planned breedings—for educational purposes. The reason why she came to exist is because her mistress wants to know more about “entry hazards” and how they could affect the battlefield.
Curiously, though, her move set is built more on what her final evolution—a Greninja—would be like; and her name was taken from the female lead of a certain series that Izumi is following up to the present day.
Just like what her species is like, she may be carefree and not give a flying fart to anything around her, but underneath that seemingly oblivious stare is a personality so serious, it’s borderline blunt, if somewhat crass and brash.
If Sakura could talk she’d always have something snarky to say—whether it’s to Izumi or to the other Water-types she hangs out with. She also loves hopping around the ranch, propelling herself through the air via her Bounce attack—the only offensive move she has at the present time.
Karitt was obtained in a trade with Kouji; in exchange for her own Horsea that she’d bought from one Danny Kazuki. She knew that the Breeder was looking for more females; while the Horsea in his possession had two interesting egg moves that he felt would prove to flourish better under his benefactor’s care.
Instead of changing his nickname, Izumi decided to keep it instead—in his honor. Unlike the female counterpart that is now in Kouji’s possession, Karitt is an extremely calm, collected individual. He’s a very peaceful Horsea; but don’t push him to the brink—nobody wants to see a mad, rampaging sea horse. As they say, “silent water runs deep”, and he is very much the embodiment of this adage.
After a training trip together with Oceanus, Karitt has at last evolved into a Seadra, where his calm, collected persona suddenly took a turn for the...wild, so to speak.
Oceanus is a very naughty, courageous little Squirtle that Izumi had stumbled on while looking through the Safari Zone. She had been hunting for one for the longest time; and now that she had finally caught sight of one, wanted to take him along. However… Oceanus here proved to be a very tough customer, refusing to bow down to both Fulmine and Erya when he crossed their path!
It is because of him that Fulmine, now an Electivire, has some moon-shaped scar marks on her arm (it was due to him biting down so hard on the then-Electabuzz’s hand and refusing to let go) after finally subduing the very tenacious Squirtle. He’s one who never gives up; if there was a saying that would fit him, it would be “no defeat, no surrender” or “fight until the very last”. Although, it is thanks to his eventual defeat back in the Safari Zone that the Electabuzz and Flaaffy in her possession finally evolved and became an Electivire and an Ampharos respectively.
As of late, Oceanus had evolved alongside Karitt, and is now a Wartortle who means 'serious business'.
Maui was one of the many Carvanha that Kouji had caught while on a short vacation trip to the Sevii Islands; and was also one of the reasons why his Kirlia had evolved into a Gallade. The way he came into the Breeder’s possession was unusual: instead of hooking just one, he had received the nastiest shock of his life when he’d encountered an entire pack of the Savage Pokémon; along with its evolved form!
Thankfully, with a lot of quick thinking, he was able to catch most of the horde (save one) and Maui here was one of the Carvanha he gave away to his benefactor; a “thank you” present for helping him out since the very beginning.
Right now, Maui here is extremely pleased—because he has found one of his siblings over at the Ranch, and the two are catching up on “the old times” (which mostly involved their epic battle against the Dusclops and the Gallade duo that brought them down; their life before they were fished out of the water, among other things).

Harbingers of Lightning
Fulmine
Electivire ♀
Motor Drive
Fulmine is an Electivire with a feisty, no-holds-barred attitude that will certainly shock the pants off anyone who manages to earn her ire. Ever since Izumi had taken care of her in her Elekid days, she’s proven quite the tough customer to deal with, always running away and managing to short out any nearby machinery with the sudden bursts of electricity that her Elekid form had generated without meaning to.
After evolving into an Electabuzz over the course of several training trips, her crazy streak had mellowed down somewhat—but it had taken one extremely tenacious Squirtle (Oceanus) in order for her to reach her final form.
As a result of that particular encounter, she has several moon-shaped scar marks on her arms; the result of the Squirtle’s “never say die” attitude when she and Erya went and beat the living daylights out of the cheeky Squirtle that they’d encountered in the Safari Zone!
An unusual quirk about Fulmine is that her lightning, when she’d evolved into her current and final form, is the fact that the electricity she generates is a surprising shade of black; instead of the normal shade of yellow. She has no idea why her Electivire’s lightning had turned that color upon evolution.
Tyrfin was a very (more like extremely) meek Tynamo when Izumi had found him in the Chargestone Cave in the Unova region. It had taken her several days of running around the magnetically-charged atmosphere before she had finally managed to find one of his kind—who knew that there was a shortage of Tynamo in the area—and after finally acquiring him, the resulting hair “nightmare” wasn’t one that was too pretty to see.
After she had eventually tamed her extremely “wild” hair, she then got to raising Tyrfin. It had taken a very long time before he had evolved into his current form, and now she’s stuck with another quandary—what moves is she going to give Tyr over here before letting him attain his final form?
As of the moment, the Elefish ‘mon is hanging out at the Ranch in Unova; trading sparks and “shock contests” with the other Electric-types that are under her command, waiting for the time that he would be called into the rotation once again…
Raikiri had been given to her (along with Sammy) by a self-made scientist named Vincent Pendragon, and to be honest, Izumi hadn’t had the slightest idea on how to raise her as well. As it turns out, Raikiri over here has a rivalry with another canine Pokémon that she owns, namely, Makara the Houndour.
The two, more often than not, are often seen sparring over at the Ranch that her sponsor owns; and the two are racing in order to see who would get stronger—would it be him, or his rival?
A distinguishing feature of the Electrike is that he has a lot of scuff marks and old bite marks doting his interestingly-shaped head—and most of, if not all, of those faded bite marks were caused by many a sparring session with the Houndour gone wrong.
Between all of the Pokémon that know about their rivalry, there’s a running gag that whoever would be the first to reach a hundred wins would have to make the other their slave; but that’s unconfirmed—since nobody but Pokémon themselves can understand their own language.
Raimei was purchased from Thomas Thaddeus—otherwise known as Tom—because Izumi wasn’t having much luck in looking for a Shinx; however he had managed to find one while he was looking around himself. She’s a very affectionate…feline, if one could call her that; because in all honesty she doesn’t know if Rai is a dog-like or a cat-like Pokémon!
As of the moment, Rai can be found at the Ranch in Unova, playing with the other Electric-types. She’s also very good friends with Raikiri, the Electrike—because the first part of their names sound alike, therefore causing a lot of confusion whenever their mistress comes and wants to see any one of them for a good pet and ear scratch!
Evolution is the least of her problems at the moment; because like all baby Pokémon, she just wants to enjoy being wild and crazy, and causing a lot of trouble whenever she’s pulling pranks with ‘Kiri.
Magnuto was caught along with one of its kind while Izumi was looking for more Pokémon to fill out the Steinhart bank. Unlike his “twin” (if there could be any considered in the Magnemite species), Magnuto here is… a technology-wrecker.She had made the mistake of letting it loose in a Pokémon Center and accidentally shorting out the circuit breaker!
As of now, the weird little “genderless” magnet (even if Izumi considers calling Maggy here a “he”) is currently running free at the Ranch in Unova—but be warned: never approach any member of the Magnemite family, unless you want to bash your head in because of a broken piece of technology.
Yes, Magnuto had already caused several sudden “power outages” over at her sponsor’s place, and he isn’t too happy about the little fridge magnet wreaking havoc…
Kirameki was caught along with his twin sister, Hibana in a swarm of Pichu that was threatening to overrun Viridian Forest. They were the cause of Vincent and Ishtar evolving—even if they didn’t want to fight (as they were egged on by their “leader Pichu” to do so) and just wanted to play with the Noibat and Riolu that had charged onto their territory unannounced.
Of the two, Kirameki here is the fighter—always protecting his sister in one way or another. Their dynamic is like that of Chie and Satoru’s—however, unlike the twin Ghost-types, the two Pichu are more on the playful, rambunctious—and somewhat destructive side. Unlike his twin sister, Kira here prefers green apples; however since there are no green apple trees on the Ranch, he’s stuck with mooching off of his twin sister’s “apple horde”.
He wants to prove himself in battle; and will not hesitate to charge head-on into battle; even if he knows that it would end up getting him injured in the process.
Hibana was caught along with her twin brother, Kirameki in a swarm of Pichu that was threatening to overrun Viridian Forest. They were the cause of Vincent and Ishtar evolving—even if they didn’t want to fight (as they were egged on by their “leader Pichu” to do so) and just wanted to play with the Noibat and Riolu that had charged onto their territory unannounced.
Of the two, Hibana here is the gentler one; preferring to be babied around instead of fighting in order to survive and get on with the world. As with all Pichu, she’s very inexperienced with controlling her electricity—and is the cause, more often than not, of crazy “hair days” whenever anyone (be it Izumi, or Kouji) would try to pick her up and cuddle her.
She’s also got a bottomless pit of a stomach, and is always found hanging around one of the apple trees in the Ranch located out at the Unova region, snacking on the fallen apples to her hearts' content. Unlike her twin brother, she doesn’t want to evolve; preferring to stay small, cute and cuddly.

Fires of Courage
Agni
Magmar ♂
Flame Body
Agni, meant to be the foil for the wild Fulmine, was a very hyper-energetic Magby when Izumi had first caught him—and almost singed off all of her hair in the process. That’s what happens when a small, fire-breathing fire-type suddenly unleashes Fire Blasts one after another in a bid to protect itself from being captured; but in the end she succeeded and caught the little perky fire-breather.
She had originally meant to raise the two at the same time; however there were difficulties looking for suitable targets for them to cover—Agni is meant to cover Fulmine’s weakness, and the reverse is also true. As of now though, Ful is an Electivire and he’s still a Magmar; but he’s working on changing that so that they can be on even footing once again.
Izumi is wondering if the same thing that had happened to her Electivire would happen to her Magmar once he evolves into a Magmortar, and is now watching over Agni’s training with much interest.

Kaji
Typhlosion ♀
Blaze
Mama “Kaji” (as she was so nicknamed by Izumi) originally belonged to a now-deceased red-head, and she was one of the few ‘mons that she had luckily picked up and is now under her care. Alongside Jet and Bruce, she’s the only female of the bunch, and as such, has a tendency to act more like “one of the boys” whenever she’s around most of the Pokemon—or even Izumi herself.
She’s a very affectionate Typhlosion—it shows with her kids, namely Arashi and Inferno; even though Zira is being all shy (and refuses to show it) she’s also quite the tackler and loves nudging her own head under her now-mistress’ hands for a good petting session. Out of all the Fire-types that she owns, Kaji could be considered as the “big mother” of the bunch—even if Arashi can now hold his own against her.
An interesting thing to note here is that she is secretly mortified of a certain blue-and-black plumaged Blaziken that belongs to Izumi’s shisho; because who knew that the aforementioned Blaziken had a temper so terrible whenever he was forced to do something he didn’t like?
Ravana was a special request that Izumi had asked for—in return for catching Yumi a certain Pokémon, she was allowed access to two of the female redhead’s companions for a breeding request. Thankfully, after a false start it had gone off without a hitch, and Ravana, along with Vincent, were the results of the breeding request that Kouji had fulfilled.
As it is with all of her species, Ravana is a very playful little one; not truly knowing the real meaning of her name—which came from another foray into mythology on Izumi’s part; and actually means “destruction”. The little bipedal lizard is curious as to why there is a Swampert that always loses her shit whenever aforementioned Swampert sees her, and can only wonder as to why she’s blasted away—even if she just wants to get to know Kei.
She’s friends with Panji and Zira; and looks up to mama Kaji as a “role model” of strength. She wants to learn how to fly, just like Gabriel—but as of the moment, she’s just enjoying herself as a rambunctious young Charmander.
Panji was one of the other babies that Izumi had picked up from the Steinhart bank when the team had dissolved. Rather than just getting all of her own Pokémon that she’d originally donated and fleeing the scene, she decided to grab some of the other ‘mons as well—since some of them were ones she didn’t have access to in the past.
The little bipedal monkey is one that is always looking for a fight—and she always hangs around Zira, the weirdly-colored Combusken as a result of this. The two are “sparring partners”, always getting themselves tangled in any kind of scuffle—and both consider each other not just sparring partners, but also “rivals” as well.
Izumi is still unsure as to how she would get around to raising Panji; but in time she will discover just how the monkey would fit into her plans…

Gressil
Larvesta ♂
Flame Body
Gressil was another “impulse purchase” that Izumi had made while she was still in her “fledgling stages” of being a Trainer—and now that she’s grown quite a sense of raising everyone with care… she actually has no idea on how to raise the Bug-type, who was actually part-Fire on the side.
She’d heard rumors about a certain creature in the Unova region being hailed as some sort of “savior” in ancient times, so she’d gone to the region to check out the stories about it—and was surprised to find out that the “savior” was actually a Volcarona.
Aforementioned Volcarona was apparently the reason why she’d been hunting one of these rare, elusive Larvesta down, but as of the moment she still has no idea on how exactly to raise the very voracious, greedy little one—Kouji had noticed, and had reported to Izumi, that the Larvesta had an appetite that could rival that of a full-grown Snorlax.
This then led her to scratching her own head in wonder and staring at the thing—why was it so hungry? Was it just eating in order to prepare for evolution? Or is there another underlying motive for the Larvesta’s apparent hunger for any kind of food?
Ixion was part of a packaged deal after completing a mission in Viridian—she’d come with her twin brother, Lime, when Izumi had acquired her. It was originally meant to be a joke; since Bunji had decided to take care of the male Ponyta (who eventually ended up in Kouji’s possession and is now female as well) while she chose the (original) female.
One known quirk about the “Ponyta twins” is that Ixi here is taller than Lime, and always loves lording it over her younger twin whenever they get the chance to meet up. Other than that distinguishing factor, Izumi is still at a loss as to how to eventually raise up the Ponyta into a mighty Rapidash; ironic as it seems, even if Ixi is the older twin, she’s the more immature one. If there’s one thing she loves most of all, asides from her caretaker: it’s a race of speed.
She’s often sighted with her twin racing around the Ranch, just basically having one hell of a good time. Izumi still doesn’t know how to get her into a fight, but one thing’s for certain: she is determined on finding a way on getting Ixi to evolve.
Pele was acquired at approximately the same time as Fulmine; but instead of raising up the Slugma in order to be a competent Magcargo, the Lava Pokémon had decided to slack off and just enjoy sunbathing as much as possible. Out of Izumi’s Fire-types, Pele is the most “mysterious” to her, since asides from the heavily-offensive move set that she currently has, she still doesn’t know she thinks.
If and when Izumi decides to raise Pele, she’d give the Fire-type a complete and total move set overhaul, simply because she’s starting to learn that relying too much on offensive moves can definitely get one into trouble—most especially when the opponent is more defensive-oriented; or can think of a multitude of ways to smash open a Pokémon’s offensive power.
Kurama was acquired from Yumi; as the female redhead had stumbled across the Fire-type while in the middle of training her own vast army of Pokémon. Unlike her namesake; which Izumi had taken from a certain series that had just recently concluded—this incarnation of Kurama is as gentle as a summer breeze; and doesn’t exactly like fighting.
She prefers to be left alone to her own devices; but appreciates it whenever someone (be it Izumi, or anyone else her owner is friendly to) picks her up and gives her a friendly pat on the head. She dreams of growing up and proving herself to Izumi, but as of now, she’s content with watching mama Kaji teach all the other Fire-types how to fend for themselves and hold their own in battle.

Asaki
Numel ♂
Simple
Asaki, as a Numel was one of the few Hoenn-native Pokemon that Izumi had yet to actually encounter and have for herself—there was a rumor going around that the Numel population had drastically dwindled down, and they rarely made their appearances. His father is Vesuvius, William Rosenbach’s own Numel that Kouji had borrowed in order to be able to breed one for her.
It’s a known fact (at least to all of Izumi’s Pokemon who live at Kouji’s Ranch) that Asaki, Pele and Gressil are sunbathing mates—basically, just moving to every nice patch of sun they can find and spending their time there, basking in the warm rays.

Lucifer
Pawniard ♂
Inner Focus
Just like his namesake, Lucifer has a terrible temper—like all of his kind. Since they are accustomed to following a Bisharp leader’s orders, he’s still stuck with that “hive” mindset—yet at the same time he wants to become stronger and become a leader of his own “troupe”. However, he was quickly put in place by Ivan and the others, therefore making his own reckless streak burn all the more.
Stubborn as they come, he absolutely refuses to follow orders set down by Ivan and the rest, because he now has the mindset of “my way or the highway”; and will stick to his guns until the very last second. Izumi herself has a hard time controlling Lucy here, because of his bull-headed ways; and his bull-headedness is much worse than Winston’s—at least the Rhydon still listens to her somewhat.
Zira was another little “favor” that she had asked for from her shisho, since she was looking for a Torchic—and consequently complete her collection of the so-called “Hoenn starters”. Her father is Helios, a very peculiarly-colored Blaziken who was apparently cursed with a very unusual coloration—the same coloration, albeit of a different palette, had been passed on to his spawn; and Zira is one of the two known children by the aforementioned Blaziken.
Her coloration is similar to that of a storm cloud about to pour rain down on the earth; and her own flames are a very unusual shade of indigo—but the color is just a part of the “curse” that had been passed down to the spawn. Of course, even if she’s colored differently, her flames are just the same as any normal Torchic.
Out of her current Pokémon, Zira here is one of the more aggressive, bloodthirsty creatures that she possesses; and she will not hesitate to get herself into any fight in order to be able to get stronger—an unusual temperament that none of Izumi’s other Pokémon have at the present time.
