APPEARANCE

Description: Arietta cares a lot about the way she looks. She's a little fashionista and always likes to be wearing the latest trends. She tends to try to emulate a cute look about herself, enjoying youthful and feminine styles. She has an special fondness for skirts in all shapes in sizes, from long flowy skirts to cute and flirty mini's. She usually has her hair tied up in a sort of cutesy pigtail fashion, it sort of being her classic hairdo and she feels it's one of the most charming things about her. She has a fancy for other particular items, but in general tends to like cute but relaxed type wear. Still, when she is feeling particularly dressie sometimes even some lolita fashion can get in the mix. She's really into a lot of things.

Face wise she has large hazel colored eyes which are often extremely expressive. She actually has managed to keep her skin with a somewhat healthy tone to it.. not enjoying getting herself dirty all that often but caring enough to make sure her skin get's the sun it needs. She's the kind of girl who works hard to keep her body free of fat's other then the spots she wants a little in, although she hasn't exactly managed that and has a somewhat scrawny vibe to her despite her best intentions.

PERSONALITY

Personality:
Arietta is a dramatic girl who never does anything without putting her whole self in it. This isn't to say she is always honest about her feelings, but that she just doesn't know how to not make a big deal about everything. Even the small things she seems to do with a level of passion that may not be necessary. She's very sure of herself and not afraid to both express who she is and the things she wants. When it comes to those things she wants too, she's not afraid to have to step on someone to get it. Even break any rules if she feels she has to.

Arietta doesn't delight or enjoy stepping on others though. She can at times seem almost sadistic but most of that is a front to hide her own vulnerability. She actually does what she can to avoid being unnecessarily cruel as long as doing so doesn't conflict with something she feels she has to do for herself. Basically other people's needs matter.. just not as much as own needs matter to her.

She also doesn't take criticism well and tends to get really defensive when she believes people are judging her. You might think this would mean she wouldn't be the type to judge others.. but unfortunately it's the opposite. She judges people immediately and doesn't seem to be aware of the hypocritical nature of it.. perhaps truly believing in her heart that she is above it while others are not. She at least seems to value when someone is also going about their life and goals with the same level of determination and ambition that she has.. and these are the people she feels she has the most in common with. Otherwise she can be harsh but at least tries to mean well, often trying to push others to not be indecisive or waste time.

She has a lot of trust issues and is afraid to get close to anyone. She has a sort of fondness for making people feel awkward or weird though, or in general she likes to feel like she has an effect on others. Whether she is making someone smile, making them uncomfortable or making them angry..  feeling like she is seeing true emotions from someone and like she is having an effect on them are when she feels happiest around others. Because of this if she stumbles on something that gets a reaction from them, she can stick to it and never let it go. Other then that she can at times appear aloof or uncaring simply because she doesn't want to let herself get close to anyone.

Arietta is also a vain girl, who expects a level of 'beauty and charm' from herself and from those around her, along with the Pokemon she raises. She's the type of girl who honestly thinks of herself kinda like a princess, in a way.. and is probably not as ashamed of this as she should probably be. If something can be nicer, then it should be. If something could be more beautiful, then that's the way it should be. This however doesn't mean that all beautiful things create pleasant feelings within her, they can often birth more petty and jealous feelings if she feels they are directly trying to outshine what she has. She is really jealous of girls with blonde hair for instance, always wanting the shade but being born with a different shade and being not willing to damage her hair for her love of the blonde. Pretty girls often seen as immediate competition for her, and she isn't often subtle about it.

She raises Pokemon in a somewhat peculiar fashion. She doesn't quite see her Pokemon as separate entities, but rather she seems them more like extensions of herself. She puts so much trust in them and expects the same and truly with all her heart believes they share the same feelings. That over time they've become pretty much they have become one person. Although she does still tend to call Pokemon just by their Pokedex name, in her heart they really are as much Arietta as she is.

This isn't to say she is ignorant of the fact that they were born separate beings and even had different personalities in some level, but she believes their very souls are bonded and they share a pact that will last a lifetime. What Pokemon she uses are often more based on her moods and feelings and she lets part of them become part of who she is too. Mawile brings out resilient and distant feelings in her when it's around, Misdreavus an almost mischievous playful attitude.

Ambitions:
Her dreams are pretty big for herself. She sees herself capable of anything she sets her mind on, and unwilling to change that. This is fueled by a desire for mass recognition, to not only accomplish things but to have the world's eye on her.. knowing that she accomplished it. To that ends she believes she first and foremost.. she is the one who deserves to be thought of as the best Pokemon trainer. She somewhat believes this is the case in her own mind, she feels she has reached a level of connection with her Pokemon that almost no one else has and wants to unlock the true potential of them all. This isn't to say that it's her only goal though.. and honestly she strives somewhat to be the best at whatever seems interesting enough to try or would give her that recognition she craves. This includes contests and other ways of proving her bond with her Pokemon.

She also tends to get flustered and angry at some antics in the world, and she has an ambition for stopping all the "foolishness" that some people do. Anything she feels is needlessly damaging a beautiful world that the world could be... and.. deep down getting rid of everything that is trying to make it a world of darkness and stupidity.. of ugliness.. sounds very appealing to her.

HISTORY

History:
The history of Arietta mostly starts with her own birth. This wasn't to say her parents life and the things that brought her into the world ultimately didn't have any effect on her, in fact it was her parents that in some ways really started it all. She wanted their love and acceptance the same way she wants the world to see her. In Arietta's mind her parents were always either busy off making a living, or at home giving all their attention and affection to her older sister.

Her older sister was a sweet young lady who was very talented and accomplished for her age which was evident from Arietta immediately. As they grew older it only got worse.. her sister was already setting unreasonable expectations for her. She could never do the things she did anywhere near as well. She was just so.. perfect from her eyes too. From volunteering to pushing herself to ace every thing that was thrown her way, Arietta was always proud, jealous, and envious of her sister. This wasn't say their relationship was bad.. Arietta's older sister was as kind and sweet to Arietta as she was to everyone. She wasn't aware at the lengths that her sister put in to achieve this or that her sister hid a lot of her imperfections so the world couldn't see.. Arietta only had that go by. Despite not the largest age gap, they never spent much time together.

Other children her age didn't prove that helpful for Arietta's self-esteem either though. She was seen as a bratty kid who wanted her way in everything. Always wanting to be do better then the other kids in her class, always wanted to be the cutest one and get all the attention, always wanting all the toys. She even often resulted to bullying other children that she felt were harsh to her or in general aimed some level of resentment at her. She had a tendency to not notice when the feeling of defending herself turned into bullying and had many of these incidents to bring home to her parents. These stories were not the easiest to bring home when her sister was bringing home such wonderful news of all the great things she was up to. In fact it was clear, Arietta was a terror as a little girl and quite the little opposite of her sister. It made her feel lonely in the world though like no one really understood her, because as she continued to grow up she knew what she was doing was wrong but she never made the change she needed. She kept feeling that people should just.. understand.

Arietta grew up with a very romantic and passionate view of Pokemon however, and loved the very feeling of working together.. in unison to accomplish a goal. Pokemon seemed to seek humans out and actively want that kind of partnership, while the humans around her seemed to push her away.. so she quickly found herself seeking Pokemon companions. These were beings that where sometimes so very beautiful that she was even envious.. and they might want to be with her as much as she wanted to be with them? She could be apart of something nice like that? She begged and pleaded until she got her two favorites, and then spent every moment she could with them. When she was able to, she saw the world with them. The moments spent along with her Pokemon, feeling as one, were truly beautiful to Arietta.. but they didn't change the feeling in her heart that something was missing. She was lonely and honestly desired attention still from another person. To feel like someone though she was worth something.
