breed them all
863
Now that he had gotten word that the person who was requesting the breeding attempts was coming over, he decided to prepare everything—by neatly packing away all of the eggs that had come from the breeding; along with the parent Pokémon that was lent to him in order to be able to fulfill the request, he knew that she was there and therefore shuffled out to the counter, first dropping off the Slowbro and then the incubators one by one. The two Magmar eggs went first, and he had to make quite a trip in order to retrieve the other two eggs that came from the Turtwig / Slowbro union, wondering why she was grabbing only two eggs—he then found out that the third one was reserved for someone else who would be eventually coming by; and therefore he knew he had to update the selling lists he had posted online. “Here you go, and yes, that’s the correct amount,” he said with a sheepish grin on his face, quickly accepting the cash and then adding it to his own safety lock box.
It was another fine day, and now he had even more special requests incoming—it would seem that the same person who had lent him the Slowbro last week was now sending over two of her other Pokémon for him to use—on the condition that any extra spawn would go back to them. Wonder what’s up with that… he thought as he heard the Transporter going off, and with another loud clunk, he heard two Pokeballs drop into it. he then scooped them up and out, tapping them quite reverently; before punching in some advanced commands—although he was a bit hesitant if his benefactor was using both of the ones he needed to borrow… and imagine the surprised look on his face when he saw a particularly-marked Net Ball that had the sticker of what appeared to be a koi fish on it; as well as a battered Safari Ball that had some weird name stenciled onto its surface. “Huh. Seriously?” he muttered to himself, wondering why she wasn’t travelling with neither of the two that he’d borrowed. Well, whatever’s in here is sure to be a big gun, since apparently they’re lending me a Charizard and a Lucario… he thought as he then proceeded to the back and then sent out the first pair; watching as a Lucario with a rather different coloration appeared alongside a familiar-looking Typhlosion.
As luck would have had it, the Typhlosin that his benefactor had named Kaji had recovered in time for this rather unusual request. “Hello Kaji, nice to see you again… hope you’ve well rested,” he said towards the Typhlosion that then proceeded to tackle him; because at this point the two were already familiar with each other. Towards the Lucario, he could only stare at first; because he’d read about their kind—they could read auras, and this Lucario was looking quite oddly at Kouji; it was probably because it could pick up on the Breeder’s latent Psychic powers that he was… still trying to rein under control. “Hello there, Kato,” he began in a level-sounding voice, before quickly tapping his hands together and bowing in the Lucario’s direction—so that was where the prickly feeling was coming from… he thought to himself as he let the jackal-like Pokémon stare at him for a few moments before he approached it. “I… I know you can pick up on my power, but we can discuss that another time,” he continued, before nudging the Typhlosion towards said Lucario.
“So, I was allowed to borrow you and… Enzo, was it, because your red-headed mistress wanted to get her hands on some extra eggs. Well, I’m not going to question further, but you two, be nice to each other, okay?” he said in particular towards the Typhlosion, because he knew how much of a “wild child” Kaji was. He then left the two to their own devices and walked down much further into the Ranch, before deciding to send out the Charizard, and the moment it did make its appearance, he ducked for cover as it then released a blast of fire—thankfully aimed at the sky. “Whoa, there!” he shouted, quickly standing up straight and waving in his face. “Enzo, was it? Uhh, your mistress lent me to you along with Kato over there in order to be able to get some… future investments going. So, I know you’re part of the Dragon egg group so I decided to have her as your partner,” he trailed off at this point, sending out the Milotic that was apparently languishing in his benefactor’s PC for so long. “Whoo boy,” he muttered, realizing how much of a drama queen Milotic could be.”
“Mariko, meet Enzo. Enzo, this is Mariko, and… please try not to have too much trouble and burn the Ranch down…” he trailed off, seeing the scar on the Charizard’s neck, and wondering what could have caused it. Well, I’ll find out eventually… he thought to himself as he then left the two pairings to their devices, hoping for the best!

Kouji had just settled down with another pot of tea and a newspaper that he was going to read when he thought he heard a din coming from outside. Nah, couldn’t be… he thought to himself; taking a sip of the tea he’d brewed. After a few moments, however, it became obvious where the source of the din was coming from—it was indeed coming from outside! Oh, shoot. You have to be kidding me… he thought as he then sighed, before placing the newspaper down and then taking another hasty sip—and then the loudest roar shook the place, causing him to very nearly pour the cup of scalding-hot refreshment down his jeans! “Crap. Alright, I’m coming out,” he sighed again, taking off his reading glasses and wondering what could be the problem. As he exited the living quarters of the Ranch, it became obvious—the Charizard was shooting fire high into the air, while the Typhlosion was also letting loose—and beside each of them, were either remorseful or extremely guilty-looking partners. “Oh, dear. Not another dud week for me,” he muttered, secretly thankful he’d bought some more of the “magical items” just in case something like this did happen.
He then first approached Kaji and Kato, the Lucario and the Typhlosion—and Kaji was in a rage. A definite rage, considering how much firepower she was spewing. He then looked sheepishly towards the Lucario, and sighed, before saying, “Wait there, I’ll be right back,” and then quickly rushed to his storehouse and extracted not just one, but two of the funny-smelling mushrooms. He then pocketed one and was holding the other as he returned to the Lucario and the Typhlosion, before handing it to the Lucario, who took it and downed the funky thing without another word. “Try to… rein her in for me, will you?” he said, leaving the two to their own devices… and then approaching the more dangerous of the pair. The Charizard then blasted another jet of fire; which he thankfully dodged by dropping and rolling off to one side in the grass, and then caught sight of the haughty-looking Milotic, and then rubbed his forehead. Looks like this is going to be hell… he thought as he then approached the Charizard; but very nearly ended up almost getting all his hair burned off. “Whoa,” he hissed as he then approached the Milotic, and then after some negotiation, he then tried to approach said Charizard again.
“Whoa, Enzo! Calm down! It’s not her fault. You… you just need a nudge in the right direction,” he muttered, quickly slipping the raging Charizard the mushroom through its open maw—it didn’t even notice the thing that had plopped into its jaws, because it caught scent of something funky and decided to chow down on it all the same. “Come on now, Enzo. If your mistress was here, she’d be laughing at you. Or worse. I don’t know, but she would be disappointed… same goes for you, Kato,” he called out to the “reconciling” pair that was not too far away. Time to let the mushrooms do their magic… he thought as he made a hasty getaway back to the living quarters!

Izumi had just gotten back from a short meeting with her master, and was now looking at the oddly-colored marble she’d traded off the other one for—she already had one for Momo, so getting this one seemed like a good deal—especially since her sponsor had informed her that there were a few extra eggs lying around from a previous breeding that he’d done. She also had a slight suspicion about things—because one of the two eggs that was ready was a Charmander egg; and knew right away that Yuya still had some trauma issues with the particular line; and therefore she needed to train that out of his system. She decided to pay him a direct visit this time, because the shipping fee for the Noibat that she’d asked him to send to her in Kalos did a number on her wallet! She also had two Incubators with her; the very same ones she’d brought along when she picked up the Heracross and the Eevee that she was now planning to raise herself in the future. Going Eevee-specialist now are we? She thought with a smirk as she then entered the “front office” of her sponsor’s Ranch, and saw that the front desk was deserted—save for something that looked like a Gardevoir, but apparently was a Gallade, manning the front desk.
“Oh. Oh my, looks like he’s been busy,” she remarked with a grin on her face, setting down the two Incubators on the counter. “Uhhh… how am I going to do this…” she trailed off, before quickly deciding to send out Momo, her Gardevoir—the Gallade’s mother, to be exact—and then watched as the flash of red light then turned into the shiny embrace ‘mon. “Uhhh… Momo? Can you… can you talk with that Gallade for a bit, and then get the eggs? I’m pretty sure that Gallade’s psychic powers aren’t as strong as yours anymore. Be careful not to drop them, okay?” she continued, watching as the Gardevoir then went around the counter and then came face-to-face with the Gallade—and the two, after what appeared to be a confused kind of silence, then left for the back area. That is so strange… she thought as she then watched the counter and waited. After around fifteen minutes, Momo came back out with the Gallade, and she was levitating two eggs; and she then knew which these ones were. “I know. Set them down gently in here, please?” she asked her companion, and the Gardevoir then slowly levitated the two eggs into their own respective containers, before she sealed them shut.
“Come on, let’s get out of here,” she continued, hefting up the two incubators and making for the doorway—what she didn’t know was that the Gardevoir and the Gallade had had a long “talk” (if one could call it that) and the two had come to terms with each other—mother and son finally being on equal footing, in a way.

Kouji had actually made Rymista, his Gallade, out in the “office” to attend to business, because he was out in the back, busy taking inventory of what needed to be ordered and what needed to be replaced. He sighed, because he knew that he was running low on hay yet again, and decided to scribble a note for another batch to be ordered when he felt something buzzing in his pocket—thankfully he had the sense to bring his mobile phone with him wherever he went. After fishing it out of his pocket, he then swiped at the screen, and checked what was causing said commotion. He then saw that there was a breeding request from a friend of his benefactors’s, and they wanted a Charmander that knew Dragon Dance. “Oh, it’s just so perfect…” he muttered with a grin on his face as he then went over to the Transporter and punched in some commands, before a weird-looking ball appeared; the design on it looked vaguely familiar as he then scooped it up; and saw that there was a leering Gyarados inside. “Yep, just perfect,” he added with a grin as he waited for the transporter go off, before a whirring noise, followed by a clunk, signaled the appearance of a Safari Ball.
“And here she is,” he said to himself, scooping up the Safari ball that contained the Charmander that was being lent to him, before noticing that the nursery was missing two eggs—he then looked at his Gallade, before noticing that there was a note that was left behind—signed by the Fire Lady herself. “Heh, so she came and got her share. Alright then, Rymi. Guard the other eggs for me, will you?” he asked the Blade Pokémon, to which it nodded; before setting out to the Ranch proper located out back. He then quickly decided to send out the Gyarados first, because he needed to gauge if he was…ready for this sort of thing. As the flash of red light transformed into the titanic-sized atrocious ‘mon, he then clapped his hands to his ears—because he heard a roar coming from its direction—before realizing that the Gyarados was staring at him. “Well, hi there, Ryuen,” he began, looking up at the very tall Water/Flying type. “Don’t scare your…partner, okay?” he continued, quickly sending out the other one he had with him—and he then saw right away that it was a Charmander!
This Charmander then proceeded to approach him before pulling on his jeans, and he then stooped down and said, “Don’t be scared of the big guy, okay?” before giving it an affectionate head-pat, and quickly leaving the two to their own devices.

Kouji was now busy hauling in the recent orders of hay and other important Ranch supplies when he felt his pocket vibrating once more. Wondering what was up, he then finished hefting up the load of hay he had with him, before turning away to pat down his clothes—and then picked up the vibrating object that was in his pocket. He then smirked, knowing that his services were needed once more—his benefactor wanted to gift a friend a particular Fire-type he was searching for, but what she didn’t tell this friend was the little bonus it would be receiving—he knew that she had a Houndour and an Electrike lying around somewhere; and then headed on over to the transporter, punching in some advanced commands. After a few moments, the machine went off—and he watched as two balls dropped into the receiving tray. The first one was apparently a Quick Ball with a flame sticker plastered quite hurriedly atop it; while the other one appeared to be a Nest Ball—these were quite unusual things he was seeing lately, but he didn’t let that bother him.
Scooping the two up into his hands, he then walked out to the back and then quickly sent out their occupants—watching as the one housed in the Quick Ball popped out; and it was a black, white-and strangely reddish-colored canine that emerged, which then barked in his direction; and the Nest Ball produced another canine—only this one was green all over, with a yellow accented stripe. “Well, hello there. Your mistress lent me to you… and she’s asking to get a few Houdour that know Thunder Fang. Luckily… Raikiri, right?” he began towards the Electrike, to which he yipped a few moments, “…you know that move. Your partner for today is Makara, this little one over here,” he continued, pointing towards the Houndour, that was now scratching its ears; and finally letting out another series of yips and barks. Wow, these two must be pretty pent-up for being kept in the PC for so long… he thought as he then fed the two with some PokeTreats before backing away and leaving the two to do their own thing.

Yumi never had a good feeling when she had to pick up pokemon from a ranch other than miss Pafe's. It felt like she was invading someone's personal space, like just stepping into their home unnanounced. With incubators in her hands for the eggs, she walked straight up to the ranch, smiling the moment she spotted enzo and Kato, the Lucario simply giving her a look as if to say "Ah, good to see you", while Enzo, rushed over, picking the red head up in a hug.
"AGH! Okay you missed me! Don't break me!~" She chuckled as she was let go, bopping the dragon on the nose before moving over to pick up the spare eggs. "I hope these guys weren't too much trouble for you."

"Oh hey Zuzie!" Josh let out with a smile as he recognized the voice on the other end of the phone. Josh had grown quite fond of Izumi, to the point he'd made nicknames for the girl. They'd gotten along quite swimmingly after their mission together near Lavaridge, and their time spent conversing and trading stories in the hot springs only served to strengthen that. He hadn't seen her in quite some time though...
"I've quite missed your beautiful face too, Izumi" he cracked with a cheeky grin. He could almost sense the likely burning of Izumi's cheeks the moment he spoke, but... Well, he couldn't see her right now. Perhaps another time, eh? Regardless, the back and fourth flirting seemed to be a common practice between the two now. Mostly Josh's fault for it starting to begin with, but... What can ya do, right? "Anyway, sweetheart, is there anything you needed? You usually don't call unless you want something, despite me enjoying our infrequent conversations. You need to text me a little more often" he teased with a laugh.
"Hm?" he asked as he heard her speak. "An egg? At the ranch? Huh, I suppose I could pick it up" he said with a smirk. "Not going to tell me what is it? Shame, guess I'll find out when it hatches. Alright, sweetcheeks, give me awhile, and I'll come grab it. Thanks for the egg, hun. I'll see you when I get there" he said. "Later" he added before hanging up.
"Change of plans, Lightning" he said as he looked at the Pikachu on his shoulder. "We're going to pay Zuzu a visit, and gain a new friend in the process!" he exclaimed. "Pi-Pi-kachu!" Lightning exclaimed in response as they changed course to head to the ranch... Later coming and getting the egg.

Thomas walked up to the Ranch. Today, he was in an olive buttoned-down shirt, a white undershirt exposed from the opening, blue jeans, and boots. For some strange reason, the beach goers and locals were giving him strange looks. Not like he cared though. He was here for business, something that was long overdue.
Izumi informed him that she got him hooked up with an Egg. The same Charmander he captured in the Safari Zone was loaned to her by the girl who ordered her, and she bred it with her Gyarados. Thomas was thankful for this alone, feeling that Izumi had done so much for him recently. First the Skitty, and now this? Once he had time, he'd be sure to repay her.
In any case, the trainer walked into the ranch, making a b-line towards the counter. He saw a man there, presumably this Kouji fellow Izumi told him about.
"I apologize for how close I'm cutting it, but I'm here for the Charmander and Gyarados egg. From what Izumi has told me, you'll need 70 dots, correct?", questioned Thomas politely, yet awkwardly.

The old man chuckled maniacally to himself as he waltzed up to the counter of this breeding place. While not his usual haunt, it allowed him to throw off those government dogs from arresting him again. Hey, it wasn't his fault that those people were so jumpy that they ordered a restraining order on him and refused to acknowledge him for a month!
Sigh. Such drama queens. Why his little Dimushka puts up with such whiny drama queen theatrics he would never know. However, now he had to deal with the consequences and hit up another ranch for now to throw them off his scent, so to speak.
Well, at least his Dimushka would be glad that he bought him this egg. Yes sir! He was well on his way to becoming the best gift-giver ever! He would prove his wife wrong yet, no matter what it takes!
WAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
But first, he had to give the 20 dots to the thoroughly creeped-out guy first. Weirdo. Hadn't he seen a good evil cackle before? The shame.

Kouji was only expecting one egg to come out of the Hounour / Electrike attempt; so imagine his shock when he saw that they had managed to get three eggs out of the entire thing! He also had one more extra Charmander with Dragon Dance remaining; because one of them was reserved; and he was keeping the other one for his own personal use (he really seriously needed to get more variety in his Ranch anyways) but that was neither here nor there. He was quite surprised to see that there were a lot of people visiting his humble abode; was it because of the eggs? He then began getting busy; and then had to hide a chuckle as a familiar red-head appeared, who had come for Enzo and Kato! He could only chuckle as the Charizard then picked up the red-headed girl and then carrying her off, before setting her back down on the floor. “Well, here you go,” he said, ducking down and then hefting out the four eggs; before placing them into their Incubators and then tapping them with an affectionate look and then bowing again in the Lucario’s direction.
After that, the day was a blur—the second customer (Josh) was apparently talking with his benefactor on the phone as they came up to the counter! Once he was done, he then ducked down and then hefted an Incubator containing a Houndour egg, before giving it a good pat. “So I heard your conversation with the Fire Lady—this one’s on the house, since it was her request anyway,” he began with a grin. He then turned to the next one (Thomas) before grinning back, “Oh, no rush. But here you go, one Charmander for you,” he continued, hefting the Incubator with the Charmander egg that was radiating heat even as he hefted it up on the counter, before adding in a little side note; “Apparently there’s some kind of ‘population control’ thing, and I have to respect it. Keep the Dragon Dancing to yourself, okay?” before the sound of what was a crazed individual echoed throughout the area!
Oh boy, it’s him again… he thought, seeing the rather sprightly elderly man who had already came by before for some Elgyem eggs; and he was here for… “Oh, right, here you go. Last Houndour egg,” he said, quickly snapping up the proffered cash and then placing it right in the safety deposit box. Now that all of the business had been taken care of, he then decided to get down with a breeding…
Walking over to where the Transporter lay, he then saw that it was going off on its own, before a Pokeball then made its appearance—and he saw that there was a Treecko leering from its depths. He knew that he had his own Treecko, but this one was special—because it was a female; and apparently his benefactor wanted a Treecko with some moves that his Tropius had. “Alright, time to get to work,” he muttered, quickly scooping up the ‘ball and then heading out back. Once he had gotten outside, he then scoured the grounds, trying to look for the “palm tree” that was apparently enjoying flying through the heavens—and after seeing a shadow pass by him, he then looked up and then saw Palm was flying quite close to where he was, and with a chuckle, waved him down and then said Tropius then began nuzzling him! “Whoa there, Palm. I know you like flying. I… I have something to ask from you,” he began, quickly sending out the female Treecko that had been lent to him.
“Hello there,” he said, as the flash of red light then transformed into a Treecko that was very much like Yamori, but without a bent tail, “Persephone, correct? This is Palm, and he’ll be your companion today. Uh… Palm, do whatever you need to make her feel comfortable. Offer her fruit if you want to,” he trailed off, quickly seeing that said Tropius was already offering him some of the delicious treats that were growing from his neck. “I’ll be right back…” he continued, quickly munching on the sweet fruit while heading back to the living quarters to make himself a pot of tea…
