APPEARANCE
His clothing varies on the environment. His urban outfit is a simple one. A pair of blue jeans with a t-shirt varying in color depending on what strikes his mood that day. A hooded sweater is worn over the shirt during cooler days. When it gets around winter time, he’ll wear a gray duster over his outfit, one being kept in good condition. Complimenting this is a pair of matching gloves, used to insulate and protect his hands in such a climate. Finally, he will wear a dark-gray scarf. In forest settings, he will take on a forest camouflage scheme for his outfit. A button-up jacket with a white undershirt cover his upper body. A pair of pants matching his jacket are worn over his legs. A pair of gloves are worn over his hands for safety. During desert expeditions, he will wear light colors on clothes that cover his body. A long-sleeved shirt, paired with slacks and his duster are worn through the desert. For all of these outfits, he will wear a pair of hiking boots that normally match the outfit in question, his favorite pair coming in a forest camouflage color scheme.
During dealings with clients in Castelia City, Thomas will take on a more formal look. This is normally when he has washed his hair. The blazer and slacks are black, while he wears a white button up shirt along with a red tie. Black dress shoes are worn on his feet in order to complete the look.[/ul]
PERSONALITY
Unfortunately, Thomas isn’t without his flaws. During interactions with other trainers, and even important figures from time to time, Thomas is a very rude individual. His dialog and comments tend not only to be extremely blunt, insultingly so most of the time, but many of his remarks are laced with sarcasm. Thomas has some anger issues, which manifest into shouting at best, and physical violence directed at either inanimate objects, or possibly people at worst. But for him to attack a human being, they would either have to really get him pissed, or do something he finds disgusting. Thomas has a nasty habit of forming and clinging onto grudges. His family is one such subject to this, voluntarily isolating himself from anything to do with his parents or siblings for the years of neglect, and for seemingly disposing of him when they had the chance.
Thomas’ interactions mostly depend on who he’s talking to. Usually, as mentioned before, he will be very rude and hostile to strangers and those he ends up disliking. However, when he’s interacting with someone who he deems important, or can give him the help he needs, he tends to act ‘neutral’ towards them. He will mostly refrain from showing any hostility towards those people when he needs to talk to them, his dialog still being to the point, but much less insulting unless the person he talks to does something he hates right in front of him. This is mostly found when dealing with clients. Towards friends he had met during past journeys, or people who have sufficiently won him over, he will be much friendlier. Though still being very sarcastic, his sarcasm is mostly in jest rather than being malicious in nature. He is very loyal to the friends he has, and will defend them to the death.
The friends Thomas has made over the past seven years were either native to Hoenn, Unova, Kanto or trainers traveling through those regions while he was traveling through them. This was all before he took on a mean streak in Johto. Other than that, the friends he made have either impressed him in some way, through their strength or personality, and have managed to look past Thomas’ nasty ways. Though he mostly pushes people away, those who get past his shield will find a reliable friend in Thomas.
Thomas enjoys traveling through various areas, meeting new Pokemon, and battling new trainers. The consistent focus of his various journeys through the four regions was to see what Pokemon he could meet. Aside from battling and meeting new Pokemon, Thomas also enjoys simply exploring the regions, from the urban areas to the wilderness. But most of all, Thomas is a sucker for action, wherever it may manifest itself. From simply battling strong trainers or Pokemon, to helping taking down villains whenever he is able to, perhaps a trait that rubbed off onto him from his father, as much as he resents to admit it.
As mentioned before, Thomas seemingly wants absolutely nothing to do with his family. Due to his track record with his family, along with the belief that his family is happy to be rid of him, the meaning of family values is nothing more than a cruel joke to him. It seems like he is happy to be away from his family, relying on himself, and not being let down with false promises from a parents that seemingly didn’t care about him at all. But in reality, deep down inside, he wants the love and approval of his parents, but it seems like they've just forgotten about him completely, and has lost hope in such a thing.
Thomas absolutely hates the idea of abusing Pokemon, and treating them as nothing more than tools. These two actions are a quick way for Thomas to get physically violent with someone. As someone who lives for action and adventure, days without any action in site are Thomas’ version of Mondays for a salary man.
Ambitions: Thomas’ one goal is to find out those who were responsible for the experiments that claimed the lives of two of his Pokemon. After that, he plans on killing the person who headed the operation. Beyond that, he does not know what to do with his life.

HISTORY
Thomas, however, was practically a ghost to them. The timid lad seemed to be hardly noticed by the family, having been so absorbed in each other. Thomas didn’t have the courage to take risks or cause trouble. So for the first ten years of his life, he lived in the shadow of his two sisters. The only member of the family that would really show him any affection was the family Delcatty, one that belonged to his father during his youth. Other than the Delcatty and the few friends he made in school, he was mostly picked on due to his timid nature and his inability and unwillingness to fight back.
At the age of eight, a man gave Thomas his first Pokemon, a Poochyena that would accompany him for many years to come.
On his tenth birthday, Thomas set out on his journey, taking the ferry to Slateport City, where he was taken to Petalburgh by a smaller ship. On that ship, he met a good friend, a boy from Dewford Town named Markus. Markus was the opposite of Thomas in many ways. While Thomas was a more intelligent, quiet, sensitive, and timid fellow, Markus was stupid, loud, insensitive, but much more outgoing. Between them, Thomas was the brains, while Markus was the brawn of the duo.
While Markus took on the Gyms of Hoenn, Thomas was content with meeting the Pokemon around Hoenn, befriending and capturing them. Overtime, as his knowledge of battling increased, he became a sort of adviser to Markus, helping him come up with strategies in order to take out the later Gyms. As always, while Thomas was the one to come up with strategies, he was too weak to carry them out on his own, which is where Markus’ strength came in.
When they reached Lilycove City, Thomas planned on showing his family what he had accomplished on his journey, hoping that they’d finally notice him. But instead, all he got was the usual lack of reception, being shrugged off. It was at that point in which he gave up on trying to earn the love of his parents. No matter what he did, no matter how hard he tried, he’d always be a ghost to them. So he left Lilycove in tears, disappointed.
Eventually, it culminated into Thomas wanting to just leave Hoenn behind. After his friend had defeated Juan and would make his way towards Evergrande City, Thomas would head back to Lilycove one last time, this time to take a ferry out of the region.
And Thomas would end up in the Unova Region around his 11th birthday.
His adventures in the Unova Region were uneventful for the most part. He basically did what he had done in the Hoenn Region, befriending Pokemon and battling. However, without Markus, Thomas had to become stronger. It was in the Unova Region where Thomas was able to somewhat hone his skills as a trainer, mostly in the raw strength department. However, he was unable to match the strength and spirit of his old friend. But in the end, his adventures in Unova left him a better battler, and while he was still timid, he had gradually become less of a crybaby over time.
At the age of twelve, he went to Kanto, hoping to do the same thing as he had done in Hoenn and Unova. However, a fateful day in the Viridian Forest would change all of that. He was escorting what seemed to be a lost traveler through the forest. Unfortunately, this man turned out to be working for a group of poachers, and while Thomas was distracted, he was quickly bludgeoned into unconsciousness. The group took all of his Pokemon and left him for dead. But by some stroke of luck, nothing had attacked the unconscious boy, and when he woke up, he was able to escape the forest mostly unharmed.
Thomas would spend the next three years searching for the three Pokemon stolen from him. One of them would be found two years later, under an abusive trainer who turned the first one, a Breloom, into a war machine. Thomas barely won the battle against the man. However, the man attempted to kill Thomas in retaliation by strangling him, only to be stopped by a Ranger.
But despite the hell the Breloom went through for two years, the other two met a grislier fate.
One year later, Thomas would finally track down the other two to a building on the outskirts of Cinnabar Island. Unfortunately, what he’d find there was an abandoned lab, with several dead Pokemon. Among those were his two Pokemon, a Rattata and his old Poochyena. All of the Pokemon had been injected with a mysterious drug, which only served to disfigure and slowly kill the Pokemon rather than whatever it was they aimed to do to them. In any case, it seemed like the project was abandoned.
However, the Poochyena was alive, but just barely. It was thanks to the strength that he built up over the two years with Thomas that allowed him to survive, compared to the other test subjects. At first, the trainer was happy to have his oldest friend still be living, still seemingly being able to recover. But even if he managed to seemingly survive the introduction of the drug, it had already ravaged his body, and was slowly killing him anyway, despite any strength he had. This had become clear to the trainer quickly, and there was only one merciful thing to do.
After saying his goodbyes to his very first Pokemon, he tearfully snapped the Hoenn-native Pokemon's neck, putting it out of its misery before the drug could slowly finish him off.
Seeing the fate of the two Pokemon, including his first, horrified Thomas to no end. The boy fled the lab, and after learning what he could about the deaths of his Pokemon, the Kanto region all together. His next stop would be the Johto region. For a month, Thomas was in a despondent state, unable to bring himself to interact with people or Pokemon.
In Azalea Town, that all changed for the worse.
A group of punks were starting to harass Thomas. At first, Thomas didn’t respond to their abuse. But once one of them pushed the wrong buttons, Thomas immediately snapped. He attacked the leader of the group, shoving him forcefully in a sudden burst of fury. This push caused the leader to end up stumbling down the Slowpoke Well. Thankfully, the punk survived the fall, but was injured from the fall, breaking his leg in the process.
Thomas fled the town, horrified with what he had just done. But over the course of his journey in Johto, the incidents started to happen, Thomas started to become more and more aggressive. He started to get into fights with other people. At first, Thomas tried to stop himself, only to fail. But over time, he started to embrace his new, violent side.
After a year in Johto, on his sixteenth birthday, Thomas moved back to the Unova Region. He decided to start a business as a sort of “middleman” for those who couldn’t capture Pokemon on their own. Most of his Pokemon had been given away to friends, while his Breloom is still recovering from the treatment it received at the hands of the man who had bought it from the poachers years ago.
To this day, Thomas hasn’t found out much about the group who performed the experiments on Cinnabar Island, except that from an autopsy report, it was some failed super serum. Thomas has vowed to find the group responsible for this, and to kill their leader.

Role play Sample: The wind swept through the area surrounding Torrenta’s Pokemon Lab. Leaves scattered frantically, blowing across the path leading towards the frequently frequented building. The sun gradually set on the horizon, the light blue, cloudy sky changed into a pale orange color that would reflect off the clouds. The chill in the air would increase as the sun would set on the area.
It had been seven years since Thomas Thaddeus had actually been to a Pokemon Lab in order to claim a starter Pokemon. For the past seven years, he had stuck to his very first Pokemon, his faithful Swampert. However, with Torrenta’s regulations against importing foreign Pokemon, Thomas had no choice but to seek out a new starter. So after getting off the boat that had left from Slateport only an hour ago, Thomas was making his way over to the labs.
The breeze swept through the trainer’s thick head of brown hair, tossing it and blowing it backward. The trainer huddled himself closely into his tan duster, sheltering himself from the chill in the air. Thankfully, the lab wasn’t too far away from the lab at that point. Within a few minutes, the trainer staring anew approached the automatic doors of the lab, which thankfully opened for him, indicating the building was still open for trainers to grab their starters.
The trainer glanced around the building quietly, taking note to the equipment. It reminded him of the day he met his Swampert as a small Mudkip back in Littleroot Town. Equipment up to the current standard was operating, the area was well organized. The trainer didn’t see anyone around immediately.
“Hello?”, called out the trainer, announcing his presence to anyone who was in the lab.
