elcome Adventurer to EPOCH! A Pokemon Sandbox Rp set in the original region of Nue. Everything you need to know will be in the Guidebook and PokeDex 101!
EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.

Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

Alexander
Gripper Pokemon Male Pressure
Kouji's first-ever companion, he has the strongest kinship with his master; because simply put, he's seen it all. He's been with Kouji ever since he began his journey, and likes to think of himself as the "overprotective" kind of guardian--after all, he was born from a union between Kouji's own parents' Ghost-types, so he feels the same like any other wandering individual should when not with his family--the need to stand guard no matter what happens.
While on his journey across the Unova region, it was no surprise for Kouji to come across the other Ghost-type while on his journey. He was just about to be attacked by another wild 'mon when this one stepped in and intervened--therefore saving him from what would have been an extremely uncomfortable encounter. Now that Beth and Alex are travelling together along with their master, she serves as the "conscience" of the group, and is there to being some sense of comfort to Kouji--something that Alex, apparently, cannot do.

Myrsky
Fossil Pokemon Male Pressure
Obtained as payment from one of the Ranch's preferred clients; Myrsky here has this weird habit of always dive-bombing anything smaller than himself. Due to his predatorial instincts, he can't stop attacking anything smaller than him that moves (or runs away from) in his line of vision. He's flying "buddies" with Palm, and has already gotten into a rivalry of sorts with Aine, his benefactor's Skarmory, due to their impressive displays of power.

A purchase he made from an anonymous individual, he was quite surprised to be able to find this Slugma (along with some notes) and a Lileep at the "sale" that was going on at the time. Kouji is absolutely sure that this is money well-invested; and will do his best to raise up the Slugma now under his care.

Much like his 'father', Hiekka is one lazy individual. He loves sunbathing all the time, so much to the point that Kouji can get exasperated whenever he wants him to do something, he'll just stare back at his master before flopping over back on the sand. Don't get him wrong though, because his seemingly slack and lazy demeanor hides a very aggressive side to himself; now that he's proven himself and has attained his final form, Hiekka will stand guard and protect Kouji no matter what happens.

Rymista
Blade Pokemon Male Steadfast
The result of borrowing a certain "Fire Lady's" Gardevoir and his own Alexander, Rymi here is... quite the ornery Ralts. Kouji knows that he is severely lacking in the "damage-dealing department", and is glad that the Ralts he has in his hands is male. Although, he isn't sure how to handle the "identity crisis" that would eventually happen once Rymi here evolves into a Gallade... which is speaking for itself! Rymi had finally evolved into a Kirlia after some escapades on the Sevii Islands, which involved the eventual capture of Nuijappa and C'thulhu... and a whole load of other 'mons besides. Now that he's a Gallade, his personality veered off into the "extremely serious" side of things, and he is adamant on proving that he can protect his master no matter what happens.

Haniel
Fish Pokemon Female Swift Swim
The apparent "ugly duckling" of the group, she was initially in Izumi's care until Kouji came into the picture. She knows that she's ugly, but that didn't stop her from looking up to both previous and current master as "someone who would love them no matter what they looked like", and is patiently biding their time, for that one moment where they can finally drop the ugly "face" of an appearance and transform into something beautiful. Will be vain once she evolves.
Usually, one would think that Magikarp are normally the "scourge" of the world, but Izumi (and subsequently Kouji) beg to differ. Knowing that Magikarp can turn nasty if raised in the wrong way, it's no mean feat for a Trainer (or a Breeder) to bond with their kind, but Levi here has felt a connection--no matter what appearance is, he will try his best to protect his master from harm. Will be very fierce once he evolves.
Bull-headed as they come, Rocky is no exception to this. Before she was separated from the family, she has always harbored this sense of regret, and ultimately rage, for Izumi initially breaking her apart from her "family". Now that she's in Kouji's hands, she's still proving to be difficult, but he's working to change that. Will be very determined and also overprotective once evolved, due to Kouji's "loving touch".

Raga
Spirit Pokemon Female Mummy
With several other Ghost-types running around the Ranch (Misdreavus and Duskull) Raga doesn't feel out of place. In fact she feels right at home, and can always be seen trying to have "scaring games" with the other two aforementioned Ghost-types, since they do share this "kinship" that exists within spirits. Little is known about the "face" that Raga has as part of its body, but as all Yamask are rumored to be, they're the spirit of someone who've already passed on... so who would she be? Will be very laid-back, if somewhat carefree, upon evolution..
With the Pineco line, it is ultimately, and impossibly, difficult to tell if one is female or male--except when they start crying out their name. Pico is somewhere in "between", and could technically be called an "androgynous" kind, since they all look the same. Having the luck of being hatched with an Egg move, Pico is basically one to look, but to never get involved. She has some abandonment issues, but in time, will forget all about it once things get going. Will be the "silent watcher" once evolution is attained.
Always the leech, Lei will not stop eating until it's full (it has this identity crisis, where she thinks she's a Munchlax). If anyone but her master (or in previous case, mistress) would approach her, it would be best to come in peace, because once she senses any kind of aggression headed her way, she'll literally shock the living daylights out of anyone who dares come too close! After getting themselves entangled in a herd of Gyaradii over at the Sevii Islands, Lei (along with three of her companions) finally evolved after fighting for their lives.
Loves listening to song, and music in general, Izumi's initial whistling tune was what made her go along with her first mistress in the first place. But now that she has been moved over to Kouji's care, there is no shortage of what music he can produce, because as much as Kouji doesn't like admitting it, he's a pretty good singer--and will often sing to this little one before going in for the night. Normally, Cleffa love dancing, but Hoshi is a different case--she likes singing, and oftentimes forgets that she's not of the "rival" genus, Igglybuff--because as everyone knows, the Igglybuff line loves singing. Will be extremely vain once evolution kicks in.

Alistair
Dopey Pokemon Male Own Tempo
Just like all Slowpoke, Alistair is no exception--he's as dope, and slow as they are. Often found lounging on the Ranch's beaches, he is still trying to fish crap out of the water--and whenever they're in the mood, both Levi and Haniel love to play tricks on him, by biting on his tail to make him falsely think that he's actually caught something! Nonetheless, this 'mon (which came from a much further away region than Unova) hides a secret-- he's been in the possession of a former Gym Leader who just suddenly up and quit. Will be a ferocious fighter once he evolves... if he does, that is..
Is actually Ixion's twin; as they were both from the same mother Rapidash. Originally, he was supposed to protect his twin sister--but they were separated at birth, as he ended up with someone else. For a brief time (before eventually ending up in Kouji's hands) he was reunited with his sister, and man did the two have a moment. It was actually heartbreaking for Izumi had she decided to keep him, but then she had this resolve to always give all the 'mons she came across with a better home, so with the reassurance that he could see his twin sister, he agreed to be sent off to Kouji's care--always running around the Ranch and bouncing as high into the air as he can possibly go. Will be one hell of a daredevil once he evolves.
The first-ever 'mon that actually ended up in Kouji's possession, he has a love-hate relationship with this little one. Who knew that such small creatures could summon such torrential rain?! He is priimarily the reason why Kouji has now invested in all sorts of rain boots--if in case he goes out again and has the luck of running into something that summons rain just to play tricks on him. Doesn't have an actual personality for now, but seems to enjoy tormenting Alistair as much as Levi and Haniel do--only this time, he loves splattering mud on the Slowpoke every single chance he gets! Will be quite the surprising powerhouse once evolved.

Ivan
Darkness Pokemon Male Prankster
Separated from his flock when Kouji caught him in Violet City, you could say that Ivan has 'separation issues'. He feels very anxious, since he's like a lost individual without anyone to guide him. Thanks to Kouji (and some help from his derpy Vullaby, Irina) he's getting along with the fellow Flying-type just fine; and the two are often seen flying around the area of his Ranch. As of now he's still unsure of how to warm up to his new master, but with time, he'll become one of his most valued companions... if Ivan doesn't stop eating first. Will be one obsessively overprotective avian once he evolves.

Jackie
Scuffle Pokemon Male Steadfast
The offspring of a certain Hitmonlee and a Makuhita, Jackie wants to be the best. However, since he's still a youngster, he's not going anywhere. Gets along very well with Orloff, the Sawk. The two are often seen trying to break the huge rock somewhere out on the Ranch in order to get their strength up. Since Kouji had already chosen his name, he's very much aware of what he wants Jackie to be (a Hitmonchan). Will get into a hell lot of trouble when he finally evolves.

Peikko
Gas Pokemon Male Levitate
Another Ghost-type addition to Kouji's 'horde', he knew that Peikko would give him trouble; but how much trouble remains to be seen! He gets along very well with all the other Ghost-type 'mons that he has, and is particularly best friends with Alexander, his Duskull. The two have developed a kinship--one that mostly involves chasing each other throughout the ranch and scaring the hell out of all the other occupants whenever they can! If ever Peikko gets around to evolving, he'll be one merciless Gengar.

Lauma
Fixation Pokemon Male Competitive
His coming into the world of Kouji's family is a very unusual one; as he'd been literally beaten into submission by Alexander and, quite surprisingly, Irina. Now that he'd gotten over being plucked and snatched out of the wild, he now spends his time at the ranch, dawdling around and just basically relaxing. He may look lazy, but it's often the laziest ones that possess the most power...
Since Miekka is a female, she's often looked down on by Jackie and Orloff; and now she is desperate to prove herself by any way or means so that they would stop looking down on her, filthy males that they are. Kouji himself has noticed her 'aggression' and wonders what had set her off in the first place; since he normally sees the Pawniard near the huge rock, chipping away and hacking and slashing at it relentlessly. Once she has proven her mettle; her evolution will be all but certain.
Yet another "ghostly" addition to the occupants of the Ranch, Kyntilla (otherwise known as Kynie) can be seen lounging around with most of, if not all, of the other Ghost-types that lounge around the ranch. Kouji is quite surprised to see that he is starting to be infested with a lot of Ghost-types, but he doesn't mind having them around at all; in fact he hangs out with them quite a lot, usually calling them all over and telling the best "ghost stories" he can remember--and most of them involve Kanto Radio Tower! Kynie is fine with just being a "light" for now, but once she becomes a Chandelure...
Kouji had chanced upon Yamori while on his very first excursion to the Safari Zone; and had saved his life. There would be faint traces of its old wounds on its red belly, but otherwise, this daredevil Pokemon can be found lounging up in the trees around the Ranch, or eating the Berries that grow on the bushes underneath. Interestingly, his tail is now bent at an unusual angle, the result of his own tail getting broken due to unknown reasons. Even if he'd already injured himself going up trees, Kouji would find him sauntering up and around the trees that litter his Ranch, and he'd always try to make him come down, for fear of him getting injured again.
After a trip to the Sevii Islands, Yamori (along with three of his companions) had evolved, a bid to protect Kouji from a rampaging herd of nine Gyarados. Now that he's attained his final form, the distinct bend of his tail can only be seen upon closer examination; but otherwise he's still the same. Has found a 'kinship' with Voima, his fighting partner (Kouji calls them the Dynamic Duo).

Marvin
Cerebral Pokemon Male Telepathy
His own "specimen" to study from the infamous Beheeyem / Elgyem horde that had threatened the explorers of the Desert Resort, Marvin is one finicky individual. What he doesn't realize that his own natural "cries" are setting off Kouji's latent Psychic powers more and more often! He wants to understand why his new "master" is always flinching in pain if he stares at him for way too long, but doesn't realize that he's the source of the problem itself...
Partnered to Marvin, Roswell was secretly glad to not be separated from its partner; but she knows that the longer they hang around Kouji, the worse their combined "psychic waves" would eventually drive him crazy (plot-related to their owner's power development). Although, without the Beheeyem to command them around, she feels lonely; and secretly wishes that she was one of the ones that had been dispersed amongst several buyers who came and picked up her "brothers and sisters" in arms.

Orloff
Karate Pokemon Male Sturdy
The newest addition to Kouji's main team, Orloff here can be bit of a reckless fool at times. Underneath the seemingly rough-and-tumble exterior is a very overprotective soul--he will do literally anything to protect his master. Always seen training out at the Ranch, he's currently working on reducing several rock crags (imported by Kouji for his personal use) to powder--but so far, nothing much has come of it. Yet he works hard everyday in order to prove himself worthy of his master's affections...

Voima is one of the sweeter things that makes Kouji's ranch a "home". Always found grazing out on the fields, the very last thing one would suspect of him is that he's a powerhouse that can, quite literally, pack a punch or two. After a trip to the Sevii Islands, voima had evolved (along with three others), in a bid to protect their master from certain death by Gyarados mauling. Has found a kindred spirit with Yamori, the Sceptile (the two are 'flashing partners-in-crime' due to the fact that their Discharge / Solarbeam combo can literally cause a whiteout) after forging links while battling various hordes together.

Fruit Pokemon Male Chlorophyll
Caught from his benefactor's home region when a swarm of them was passing through, Palm can be described as a "gentle giant". Since he's the only member of Kouji's legions who can fly (and carry him astride without having too many problems), he's learned to make great use of that--always flying through the sky; or otherwise sharing the fruit that blooms on his neck to the other occupants of the Ranch.

Char
Lizard Pokemon Male Blaze
Char is one of the three eggs that he had decided to keep from a previous breeding request; so that he could try his hand at raising another versatile Fire-type to add to his team. The lucky bonus here is that this Charmander knows Dragon Dance, something that was apparently heavily sought-after from their species, so he's unsure on how to feel about it! Personality-wise, Char is just the cutest, most adorable little thing that had come to his Ranch; he's actually having fun with Kynie (the Litwick) whenever they have their escapades--much to Kouji's behest, because he can't exactly control two Fire-types from going wild whenever they start breathing fire...

Neili
Egg Pokemon Female Serene Grace
A pacifist by nature, Neili was the Chansey that Kouji chose to keep; because he'd learned about the importance that a Chansey could bring to a Ranch: for starters, Neili would always be there to tend to all the eggs that would result from breedings, and he's now in the middle of training her to be the "in-house medic" as well as one of his assistants when it comes to going about breedings while out on the grounds.
Obtained in a trade with his benefactor for his Horsea along with one of the marbles, Kaira is quite a temperamental Horsea. Unlike Karitt, her male counterpart, Kaira is more on the aggressive side, and won't hesitate to attack anything hostile that comes into her territory.
Obtained in a trade for his shining marble along with another one of his 'mons, Casey displays the personality of most Abra: always sleeping while floating in mid-air. Most of the time, he can be found hovering near a quiet area, snoozing most of the day away...
Obtained in a trade for his shining marble along with another one of his 'mons, Kieli is one hyperactive frog--and already has a rivalry with Yamori, his Treecko. More often than not, she would attempt to challenge the laid-back Treecko... but always end up losing! This doesn't deter her, however--it is a way t make herself stronger through hardships that come her way.
Obtained in a trade for his shining marble along with another one of his 'mons, Nurmi and Palm are kindred spirits--they're both laid back and carefree. The Mount 'mon is also quite affectionate, always slamming into Kouji's legs (or stomach, whichever is closer) whenever he goes out back to feed them all! She can be found grazing along with the others on the grassy fields of the Ranch... or racing with Palm around the area.
There is always a state of general confusion whenever Kouji calls on either Kaira or Kaidra (what with just one letter being different in their names); so whenever he needs the Mock Kelp 'mon, he calls him by "Kai"; because the female Horsea's nickname had sort of defaulted to "Ira" so that he doesn't get the two mixed up. Due to this little naming snafu, Kai already has a sort-of rivalry with Ira, even if they're similar yet dissimilar at the same time.
A secret gift snuck to Kouji on the sly in exchange for a breeding request, the Swablu that was once with Izumi is now in his hands; and as norm for her species, she loves fluttering around and always perching on his head, very much like a fluffy hat. He can only guess as to why the Swablu line love doing that particular act, but he doesn't mind at all...
Quite aggressive for the Pidove line, this little one just happened to get on Rymista's wrong side and subsequently fell underneath a show of blades and Thunder Punches. Now that he's getting used to life away from his flock, he finds that hanging out with Ivan, the Murkrow, eases his feeling of separation; and looks up to the black bird like a "father figure".
Named after one of the Kanto Elite Four (simply because he just likes the way his Seel's namesake has mastery over the Seel / Dewgong evolutionary line), this Lorelei is a very gentle soul; and is more playful than serious. She already has friends within the extremely... huge circle of family and friends that make up the denizens of Kouji's ranch. More often than not she can be found horsing around in the waves; or just otherwise rolling around on the beach and sunbathing to her heart's content (if a seal could actually do that).

Irina
Diapered Pokemon Female Overcoat
The only ridiculous thing about Irina is the fact that this Pokemon is wearing something that looks like a diaper...and that's what always makes Kouji snicker every time she makes an appearance. On the outside, she may not look like much--however on the inside, she's one fierce fighter, and will join Alexander whenever front-line duty is needed to protect their master. Will be quite the finicky girl once she evolves.
*gifted by Zernebog Romanov* Ema is the self-proclaimed "mother superior" of the Ranch, working alongside Kouji's Chansey when it comes to taking care of the younger ones. Her attitude is mostly that of a mother's, only instead of slapping, Ema can literally punch the hell out of any misbehaving little ones, so it's best not to cross her.
