elcome Adventurer to EPOCH! A Pokemon Sandbox Rp set in the original region of Nue. Everything you need to know will be in the Guidebook and PokeDex 101!
EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.
Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. If you find yourself content with being an asshole EPOCH and its members will not tolerate you.
RULES
Understand We're All Human. Respect the staffers as well as your fellow members and guests. We all have flaws, tempers and quirks. Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

Description: Yumi commonly wears Baggy blue shorts that stop abover her knees, with black boots that stop before the knee, and navy blue socks filling the gap. Her top half is covered by a red hooded sports jacket and bright blue shirt, both short enough to hang abover her waist and hug her form nicely. Her hair is commonly done in a ponytail with a parting to the right with her fringer. She has two chopsticks through her ponytail. Her eyes are amber.
Her work attire is a black rocket outfit with a red "R" on the top. It consists of black fingerless gloves that reach above the elbow, a short sleeved , loose over shirt that hangs above her waist with a tight grey shirt underneath that ends just before her skirt. The skirt is cut on one side and reaches mid thigh. She has thigh high black socks and black heeled boots. Her work gear is finished with the "rocket" cap over her head and a pokemon belt that crosses her waist at an angle.

PERSONALITY
Personality: Yumi outside of work is a pretty normal person. She tends to enjoy relaxing and genuinely being a pleasure to be around. She is rather layed back and dosn't let much bother her, so long as her life continues, the world is sweet. Her battles seem to follow this pattern as she dosn't care much about winning or losing, so long as she and her pokemon have fun she's fine with the outcome. At home she tends to treat her pokemon like pets, feeding them well and caring for them, even finding it enjoyable to watch old movies with them.
She seems to have a rather drastic shift in her outlook, or at least her attitude when battling in her work attire. She is far more confident and determined to win, though still seems to have a definate sense of care for her partners and pokemon. She is far more outgoing and even uses her "feminine charm" to get a leg up on her fellow team members, or even uses them to get the info she needs out of some target for the team. Her mindset is far more sly in this regard, but hints of her out of work self often shine through, as she can show a layed back response to a serious situation.
Ambitions: Yumi once wanted to beat the elite four, and still sometimes thinks about picking up the challenge of the gym leaders again, however her rocket work does seem to take priority. She has an odd dream to be one of the top members, though even then she seems to aim low, putting herself at the bottom of the list of the high ranking members for her to have achieved her goal.
Though she has never told anyone, a final dream of hers is to create the most diverse "family" of pokemon. The reason she says family is because she wishes for them to all have seperate personalities, and not just be a pathetic tool that just follows orders.

History: Yumi was born in Hoenn, fortree city. Her parents didn't exactly plan for her, and to put it simply, she lived in foster care from the age of two. She had been told for as long as she can remember that her parents left for a pokemon adventure of their own, and though she soon realized this was likely a lie, it did spark her interest in becoming a trainer too. Growing up in foretree city, she seemed to have a nact for moving through the wild. Her foster parents were worried for her safety as she once came home with a bruise on her right arm from trying to catch an absol without any pokemon of her own.
Unable to cope with her adventurous attitude, she was sent to a school in unova to study as a pokemon trainer. The tall buildings and her love of the woods were not a good mix. The concrete jungle couldn't compare to a real one afterall. Cutting off from her social workers she tried to get a pokemon on her own again, losing herself in what little wilderness Unova had. She had many failed attempts at catching pokemon again, and was starting to run out of what little money she had to keep a shelter over her head. It was on a trip through castellia city that she found her first pokemon, a sawk she named Ko-Ken, who had protected her from some houndour in an alley way, and had stuck by her ever since.
Finding a way to keep themselves going, Yumi and Ko-ken found out about Team rocket, and it's main activities in Kanto. The two seemed to think that joining such a group, no matter how evil, would be a good way to stay safe, and so, after catching two more pokemon, they hitched a ride to Kanto, sneaking into the cargo hold of a ship for a free trip. Arriving in Kanto, they soon joined the gang "Team Rocket" and used whatever money they could get from their work to find a small apartment in Saffron city. At this point, Ko-Ken was, and is, still Yumi's self declared guardian, and will look after her no matter what, though his reasons seem unclear, yet Yumi can tell it's likely just the fact that the Sawk has a kind heart.

Role play Sample: (this is an example from another rp site)
As the crimson eyed PK walked towards the dark cave, a dagger, or rather, a whirlwind of a kunai flew past his head, impaling itself between the rocks in front of the cave. Should he take the time to examine it he would see a carving of an owl on the handle, a common sign of the weapons held by a very distinct, red headed, stab you in the back female.
"Never thought I'd see you so soon...hoped you'd crawled back into whatever hole the devil lets his beasties out of."
Behind Bunji stood Yumi, a Pk he had quested with twice before now. The second quest ended in the worst conditions, for both of them. Yumi couldn't speak for the flame haired guy before her, but she personally had a distinct desire to stab him in the back and rid the world of his disgusting little face. Walking closer her blade kunai regenerated in her pocket, quickly moving to her hand as she traced a hand up her thigh, flicking open her weapons pouch and pulling the weapon out in one fluid motion, readying herself for another throw.
"You know, I thought this would be a fun day. Get some col, loot, and all for walking into a cave and picking something up..."
She stopped before him. This close it was very easy to notice her new armor. Far better than the starter gear she had when they last met. He starter pants were replaced by some ruffle shorts with a spike belt. He leather boots had become tall knee high replacements, with blue flames burning up the sides. Her starter breastplate now a set of bandages wrapped tightly around her chest, and rather than simply walking around without a shirt, she now wore a jacket, torn and worn out, and barely even long enough to hang lower than he chest, but it worked. Her hands bore fingerless and knuckle-less gloves. Likely to help her fingers move with such delicate weaponry. Her ponytail seemed to have some more form to it as a skull pin and two chopsticks ran through her hair.
Her eyes remained locked on Bunji's, even at close range she felt like she had a chance against him, her free hand on her hip and her other ready to throw and run at any moment. He lips became a scowl and she remembered every spiteful image she had of the PK before her.
"Mind telling me why you're here? Or is that a question I'll have to ponder when you're bursting into blue pixels?"

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Yumi dosn't care much about how she looks, just what feels comfortable, and is practical. Sure she has a dress or two in her wardrobe that Ko-ken mad her get for an occasion, but typically, she'll be wearing baggy shorts, A hoodie with a midrift, long navy blue socks, and some knee high laced boots.
Yumi has a rather nice figure, standing about 5'10, and is clearly well toned. While she rides her pokemon a lot, its clear a lot of her adventuring is done herself, from climbing mountains to swimming. Despite this toned physique, she also has some "fat" in all the right places. Despite her adventuring, she has surprisingly smooth skin, and even the odd scrape or cut seems to fade away without much of a mark. She says this is because her body is used to the rough and tumble, but she really has no clue.
One of the key features of Yumi is her rather vibrant red hair. Standing out from other red heads on the site simple from how bold a shade it is in comparison, making it easy to pick her out in a crowd.

Bubbly - Yumi can be described as a cheery girl above much else. While she can become nervous or even angry, there is usually a certain spark in her smile that shows you just when she's having fun, which tends to be all the time.
Focused - When things matter, Yumi can put everything into a moment. Her pokemon tend to have the know how when it comes to a battle, but if it counts, the orders she gives can be outstanding, and she is more than capable of handling a tough situation.
Worriesome - When the situation dosn't call for it however, Yumi can still be quite a worry wart, trying to do her best to make sure everyone is happy, or ensuring her pokemon don't take too much damage in a battle situation, even if taking a hit could be worth the risk.
Friendly - There's no reason Yumi wouldn't be your friend. Heck you could be planning to destroy the world. If she dosn't know that, the odds are she'll possibly try and befriend you if you let her, just sometimes her past can get in the way of that.
Adventurous - Yumi will try anything once. She has held many jobs in the past, and now that she has money, she uses it to live her life. Flying over the wilds, jumping over skyscrapers with her Blaziken's help, exploring ruins. You name it, she wants to give it a shot, though she will always have a soft spot for flying with her Noivern.
Ambitions: After her time with the Rockets, a small part of Yumi wants to atone for the work she did, so she will sometimes focus her efforts on some of the darker sides of Epoch, but never exclusively. Her true ambition has and always will be the journey to make her pokemon family the greatest anyone will ever see.
FEATS
Since All my pokemon are found here, I'll be using this area to list some of Yumi's impressive feats, OOCly noted, ICly performed, or some things i just wanna remember.
Rocket Special Agent - Yeah, not something she's too proud to recall, but Yumi was skilled enough during her time with Team rocket to earn herself a place among their elite special agents, even playing a roll in the temporary plan to take over the Hoenn region. This achievement was performed ICly, and is not just part of her history.
All the pokemon! - More an OOC brag, but Yumi is known on site for having the largest collection of pokemon among the apped characters. She also has a rather extensive collection of fully trained pokemon, though I have yet to check if she is still the winner in her number of those.
Tourney semi finalist - During the site's first tournament since her creation, Yumi became a semi finalist of the official tournament for champion rank. Her mega evolutions mad quite the splash in the opening round, and brings me to my next point.
First Megas - Yumi, Along with Zernebog Romanov, was one of the first two people on site to achieve mega evolution through the old "tower power" mission, succesfully giving herself an edge against many opponents in future battles.

With her money coming in and settled with the easy jobs from the Rockets, a lot of Yumi's spare time was spent catching pokemon, challenging gyms, and other trainers. Really her place in the Rockets was primarily just her doing some check ups on other regions for possible hideouts, and giving her a brilliant excuse to travel. She had a brief fling with one of the old Rocket members, but he one day left without a word, and has long since left Yumi's memory.
One of her jobs did give her a sense of who she was working for. Like a slap in the face, Yum was told to kidnap a girl known as Richelle Jace. During the time she was "guarding" the girl, waiting for a change in shifts, the way she spoke hit Yumi even harder than the atrocious act she had committed, and these thoughts slowly ate away at Yumi during her later years working for them.
As Rockets started getting bigger, Yumi was still a minor player for a while, and during one of her trips to Kalos, she stumbled upon the gems that would allow her to perform Mega evolution, finding both a keystone, and a blazikenite fairly quickly. Upon teaming up with Zernebog Romanov, she conquered a challenge to learn more of these gems from the master of the mega technique in Kalos, and since then, Mega blaziken has been a staple of her team when going against harsh opponents.
Mega blaziken was first put to the test during a small break from the Rockets, entered into the regional tournament that would decide the champion for the next year. With no regrets, she finished off her first and second opponents using the power of mega blaziken, but sadly faltered against a woman she had met once before, Elinda Aspern. This master of steel types beat Yumi down and out of the tournament, but Yumi will always congratulate her for being the first person to make Ko-ken actually bow down in defeat.
When her allegiance to the Rockets was beginning to falter, Yumi was faced with a "New admin", a fellow she had known from previous encounters, but sadly never recognized with the mask. A loss was not felt this time, but the situation she was pushed into, to break the rules of battle, and for Ko-ken to attack a trainer directly. The pressure on her psyche forced her to stay with the rockets, and even became a more reliable agent for quite some time. She still has a breaking point, that once crossed, will put you in for a world of heart. Dammed be the rules.
During one of her more serious missions, she once again ran into Richelle during a staged bank robbery, where she was supposed to play the hero and "capture" the agents that had commited the crime, but the chaos caused from encountering an old face like that put it all into a state of chaos. Her allegiance was once again thrown into chaos, and soon, she left the rockets, taking with her as much information as she could to put to use in clearing her conscience for the past year.
Without work, and her savings dwindling, Yumi eventually had to find work, and now has a stable job with the pokemon trader Thomas, moving with him and his business to Nue, and now acting as one of his main catchers, allowing her to lead that much faster, more free lifestyle she always longed for...

•Tourney semi finalist - During the site's first tournament since her creation, Yumi became a semi finalist of the official tournament for champion rank. Her mega evolutions mad quite the splash in the opening round, and brings me to my next point.
•First Megas - Yumi, Along with Zernebog Romanov, was one of the first two people on site to achieve mega evolution through the old "tower power" mission, succesfully giving herself an edge against many opponents in future battles.
