“Hup, hup, hup...”
Muttering to herself, really more of a breathless huff than an actual word, Vesta Dressler jogged in circles around a Pokémon Center in Luminose. It was very early morning, not even 9 AM yet, but this was all too normal for someone like her. Oscar, her trusty Mightyena, jogged with her, taking it in a bit more casual stride than Vesta, though his countenance was still serious, like hers, just slightly less so. It was her early morning jog, much less rigorous than what she can do, but any exercise was to be taken seriously.
At least the area around her was a bit less crowded than it could me; most people were already moving on after their night’s rest.

Early mornings weren't exactly her thing but after the fitful sleep she had it was obvious that she wasn't going to get any better. In lieu of just staying in the center she managed to get up and dressed making her way out the automatic doors only to have the red flag cross in front of her bleak vision making her pause. ..... What? Her head snapped to the side and caught the ponytail rounding the corner. Red was... Ronnie paused tucking her lips into a flat line in thought trying to kick start her brain her feet following after the red head before stopping and looking around the corner finding her gone. This was bullshit, not only did the crimson tide ruin her weekend at least once a month it had now become a physical embodiment that haunted her mind. Was she a masochist? She didn't think she was...
The patting of feet coming from behind her caused her to look back over her shoulder to see El Camino (oscar) round the corner and the No no Zone was in tow. Amber eyes swept down from the flushed face to the T-shirt and legs before jerking back up as she neared and almost passed her. Ronnie panicked there was nothing she could do, she needed to stop her and at that moment it just sort of spilled out. "What the hell Red! You still have energy to run around?!" she got in front of her to stop the morning session in it's tracks. The look she received was not a comforting one but more of annoyance with a brow raised in question at her.
"Don't your legs hurt from running through my dreams all night?" the pick up line delivered smooth as ever. Though knowing the tin pie pan ego she was dealing with she doubted it sank in. Luckily when she tried to pass her the sassy coordinator cut her off rising up on her toes into her face. "Hey, ...after this wanna go out for breakfast together? We can play corporate big wigs. I'll play Burger King you can be DQ. I'll do it your way if you treat me right." She grinned big at the Habanero headed ginger looking hopeful.

This was it. Amber gulped as she stared at her Salamence. The large Dragon type gave her a confident nod as he lowered himself to the ground to allow Amber onto his back. There was a bit of sweat on her forward as she climbed upon the Salamence. However, it wasn't for the reasons one would think. No. She was completely over her fear of flying. And it was all thanks to one special girl she had met. As the Salamence took to the air, Amber's jacket would flop in the wind. She looked up above to see where Ronnie was. A basket of cookies was tightly tucked under her arms as the Salamence would catch up to the Dragonite in the sky.
As she approached, Amber cleared her throat and just went for it. #Yolo.
"Ronnie!" She called out, a brush of blush covered her face. Her voice got caught in her throat though and she avoided eye contact with the other eye. Amber wasn't sure if this was the right time or place, or even if she should. But she had to do something. "I uh, I was just wondering if you wanted to finish all these cookies with me. I kinda made too many..." She said, her face turning completely red as she held out the basket of cookies. "Can we consider it a date..?" Amber asked again, scratching the back of her head in embarrassment.
Amber is sitting at a booth in a Pokemon Center in Lilycove City, looking over a few notebooks filled with her Pokemon's names and move sets. It's mid-afternoon and there's only a coke at her side.

You can do this, Lorraine, you practiced three times in front of the mirror! Just say it, just tell her!
The dragon-professor-to-be assured herself once more about her decision as she walked quickly across the Pokemon Center. Had her nerves not been so rattled, the walk would certainly be smoother and more elegant like usual, but she walked swiftly with clear panic. Her destination? The beautiful raven haired girl just casually looking over her notes for her team whilst adorably holding her chin. She was clearly deep in thought and for a moment, Rain wondered if this was a bad time to interrupt her. No! No, she couldn’t back down now! After all this time together, after Amber helping her to learn so much about dragons so quickly, she couldn’t let this go on in silence any longer.
Marching right up to the booth and nearly slamming into the table before she jerked to a stop, her hands quickly slapped down on the table top to steady herself. Dazzling red eyes turned up to her own blue gaze and suddenly a skitty grabbed Rain’s tongue, in a metaphorical sense. She stared at Amber, face immediately turning a bright shade of red as Amber would question if everything was alright. “Ye- No, uh…” Rain scrambled for words before she quickly shook her head and stood up right.
“No, no everything is not alright, I have something to say!” she managed before falling silent. There was an awkward tense moment as Rain scrambled for the words inside of her head that she had rehearsed three Arceus damn times in front of that stupid mirror! Right, right! “I-I’m—“ a pause to clear her throat and try again. “I-I lo—like you… In a uh more than… Friend kind of way. Ye-Yeah! I really like you i-in the I want to da… Date you, Amber! I just um… Would you, at least consider, maybe possibly, um…” Another pause before she rattled out “Will you go out with me?”
Another day, another meticulous study session. Lorraine was quite focused on her work, aiming to research the day away in the quiet internet café. Notes and notes of dragon research piled up on her desk as she flicked through the pages and hummed to the pleasant tune coming from her headphones.

The red headed Professor had been walking around the city for fun, needing a break from the countless hours in the lab. However, as was the status quo for the ginger, he tended to burn out in the sun after twenty minutes. Going towards the nearest building, an internet cafe, Bailey made his way inside and out of the death rays that was sunlight. Inside he heard the familiar hum of computers, laptops, and tablets. Ah, the sweet sweet sound of computers at work and keys being tapped. His vision was filled with miniature dots of blue every time someone struck a key, and a silver hue wavered in and out of his vision to match the hum of the machinery. Smiling, he went to order some coffee, a caramel mocha to be exact.
As he waited, leaning on his elbows on the counter, his eyes scanned the room. The usual people, studying, researching, an- Whoah. His eyes fell on a beauty; A dark haired girl typing up at a computer with a stack of papers next to her. "Yo, here's your mocha, bruh." The kid behind the counter said, snapping him out of the spell this girl's beauty had laid on him. Bailey quickly paid the kid, muttering, "Thank ye'.", before he walked over towards the girl's table. Well, at least he got close. He was a few feet behind her when he realized he didn't know what to do. Maybe she was busy? Or too important. Or not into red heads.. He wouldn't get the chance to decide on his own. The girl must have seen his bright red hair in the reflection of her computer screen, because she turned around and asked what he was doing. Turning a shade of red that matched his hair, Bailey said, "Errr.. I was.. Ah.."
He quickly walked over towards her stacks of paper, glancing over the papers and seeing the topic, "I was ah interested in yer studies. Ye' seemed pretty inta' it and focused. Yea.. I've always 'een interested in Dragons.." He was lying through his teeth, and Bailey have never been an actor. The girl could probably tell, leaving an awkward silence between the two. Gulping down the lump that had been in forming in the back of his throat, Bailey said, "And per'aps if ye' wanted, 'dunno, research together.. In a study date 'er sometin'.." He knew by now his face was probably blazing red and it probably didn't help his attempt to ask the girl on a date.
Running in and out of his lab just outside of Coumarine City, carrying boxes way to big for a guy of his stature. A light drizzle has started coming down on the city and it looks like Bailey is in a hurry to get the boxes inside and dry.

Arriving in Coumarine City, the weather turned for the worse—and after getting hurried directions to the Professor’s lab, saw that he was still moving some stuff around and that it was in cardboard boxes. Quickly flexing her muscles, she then took a tumbling box and caught it before it hit the wet pavement, before mumbling, “Bailey, you—you really must be careful with these things. What if they get destroyed?” she said, hefting the box into her hands, not minding the fact that the soggy wet carton was starting to bother her. And for a moment, she slipped. “Uhhh, Bunji… erk, sorry, I mean Bailey… would you want to… to get warm later? I saw this café not too far from the city limits and… and yeah, want to get some drinks?” she stammered, feeling her cheeks go from pink to all-out red. Hell, even if they shared the same face she still called Bailey, or rather the Professor, a different name at times!
Ever since Izumi had arrived in Kalos (and had that fateful encounter, so to speak) she had now started working ‘alongside’ a certain redhead (who reminded her of another one, but just not so much yet) and was out in the field, looking for something at his request. Wondering why he wanted Kalos-specific species at first was a bit odd, considering that he was a native of the region, but who was she to judge—she had just caught sight of something that looked like a winged “wrestler” (or so that’s what they called it on television anyway) oh crap. No Pokeballs! Take a picture instead! she thought, taking a leaf out of a certain individual’s book and taking out a digital camera—there was just no time to get the actual camera that this Unovan native wielded without having such a terrifying flash feature. “Okay, don’t move now…” she mumbled to herself as she inched closer—and it had leapt up into the air, but not before she had pressed down on the shutter button. “Ahh, perfect!” she said, smirking at the captured image of what she assumed was a Kalos-native, because for one thing she had not seen anything of this type.

Gold eyes stared blankly at the back of Izumi’s head. They had been like that for around five minutes now, watching unblinkingly as she went about chasing after that strange luchadore bird with a camera. The entire time, there was a small, whimsical smile on his lips that wouldn’t stay down no matter how hard he tried.
Like some other wretched feelings he could name, it seems. Feelings that had been bothering him for some time now.
Was it morally wrong? Not at all.
Was it lawfully wrong? Nope. He checked.
Was it ethically wrong?
The smile turned rueful. It broke every ethical rule in the book.
He supposed it was somewhat ironically appropriate that even this part of his life would have a tint of impropriety in it. Of course, he didn’t actually care.
His eyes fell on the bouquet of white violets he bought with him and involuntarily smirked. It was too late for him to back out now anyway. It was now or never. If he didn’t do it now, then he would back out like Torchic shit for a long time.
With a deep breath, he stepped out of the rock he had been covertly observing her from and put the white violets behind his back. Then he slowly but surely walked over to her with a small grin.
”Got what you wanted, Izumi~?” Zernebog remarked idly as he put a hand on her shoulder, doing his best to keep it from shaking. ”If you’re done here, how about we go back to town and grab some grub at a restaurant there? My treat.”
He then pulled the flowers from behind his back and waited anxiously for her to turn around….
Zernebog stared at the strange bracelet with an appraising eye. This had been one of the more interesting trinkets that he had dug up from the badlands and this one just grabbed his attention. He had no idea why, but there was something about the slot in the bracelet that seemed both suspicious and familiar.
Behind him, some of the patrons were staring at him with puzzled faces as they wondered what some large, burly, and dusty guy was doing in a bar looking at some old jewelry while drinking vodka. There was something that just didn’t add up in this scene, and they didn’t know where to start.
What shot number was she on again? She looked beside her to find that the bartender had already scooped away the mini-pyramid of shot glasses she had been working on. Damn, so much for keeping track. What had she come in here for anyways? Was it work and she got distracted, another day of losing faith in humanity that needed to be erased from her mind through alcohol, or just a simple desire to get wasted? Rattling her mind, her eyes trailing the bar, she would pause at the peculiar sight of a young man with white hair, and then it would click. Oh right…
It was his stupid fault.
Bastard.
Always looking so cool with his smart ass wit and his awesome build and that stupid great accent… All your fault, Ziggy. She just stared with her mind loss in the clouds for a long time, not taking much notice of what he was doing or any of the other patrons before her train of thought finally reached some sort of bizarre conclusion. She had to put him in his place once and for all, and what a better time to do it after her umpteenth shot of liquid courage?
Her sober self was cringing, but her drunken self was already on its way out of the chair while sloppily slapping down the owed money on the counter. Making her way over to Zernebog, she drop unceremoniously into the seat next to him and without a warning started up. “Y’know, I bet you think you’re some kind of bad ass, huh?” The slur was noticeable as she pouted up at him. “But I bet I could kick your fine ass any day of the week, Mister Romano” she stated matter-of-factly before noticing the peculiar item he had in his hands. Leaning over until she was slouching against him, she eye the bracelet with an easily distracted curiosity before craning her head back to look up at Zernebog. There was a pause before she laughed and sat up. “Hey, y’know I’m kind of like a diamond in the rough myself, Ziggy” she chimed, resting her elbow on his shoulder and leaning over as if to whisper a secret. “You just gotta rub me the right wa—No wait, that’s the Genie line…” she abruptly corrected before looking at the bracelet and then back up at Zernebog who was probably either highly amused, deadpanning, or very confused. “… Can I go back to your place tonight?”
Welp, that was blunt.
After a hour of packing everything back up, double checking and then rechecking her supplies, Ricki was getting ready to make the hike out of the city to move along to her next destination and her next job. Midday with the perfect weather, it was just the right temperature for her next adventure. With the distance she planned to travel, today she decided to spare her Pokemon from the exhausting run by opting for one of the buses that traveled along the routes. Sitting patiently on a bench at the bus station, she busied herself by playing with her PokeGear to pass the time.

Rolling his shoulders, Jason finally left the gym. He had put in some good time and he was more than ready for a nice two or three hour nap before his night time jog. It was hard work keeping up a body like his, but it was always worth it. Peeling of the sweat soaked shirt, he tossed it in the gym bag he had with him and made his way towards the bus stop. He usually just walked everywhere, but Arceus knows his legs were on fire and he would be doing more later in the day, so he decided to take the bus for once. It was then that he caught sight of a familiar head of green hair.
"YO, RICKI!" The buff blond shouted, getting a few glances from some people walking down the sidewalk. He didn't care what those random ugly people thought, he had a mission, a goal, and today was the day he would succeeded at it. Jogging towards the bus stop, Jason broke out into a smile when he saw the green haired girl, and she returned his smile with her usual roll of the eyes. A chuckle escaped his lips at her response, her attitude the same as always. Sitting down next to her and dropping his bag onto the floor, he said, with the usual dazzling smile plastered onto his face, "Nice to see you too, Greenbean. What's up? I didn't really take you for the kind of person to a ride a bus." A scoff, a short explanation later of what she had been up to, followed by "what did he mean kind of person?" was Ricki's response, filled with the sass he had grown to appreciate. Jason really did like her attitude, it was so refreshing compared to what he usually dealt with. An unnatural friendliness from a certain someone or girls and guys alike falling for his usual antics. Ricki was a challenge he would soon conquer.
"Psssssh, you know what I mean." Jason said, pulling a water bottle out from his gym bag and taking a long drink. This was his chance. She was interested and not hiding behind her wall of sass. Setting the bottle down, the shirtless hunk put his arm on the back of the bench and turned towards her, a genuine, and still stunning, smile on his face, and said, "The kind of person who is too pretty and good to ride a bus." Ricki looked like she had just been punched in the face, or something just as shocking. What? He couldn't be cutesy and sweet? Or at least attempt to be. Scooting closer to Ricki, accidentally putting his arm around her, he asked, "Why don't you go on a walk with me? We could stop by a restaurant or something if you want as well." Jason was smiling at her like she was the only girl in the world, and he hoped she really did feel like it.
Walking around a lake enjoying the beauty that is Hoenn, Jason is happy to have some time to himself. He had been trying to spend as much time as possible with his pokemon, but it was crazy trying to fit all in to such a short time. He had to admit to himself that he was feeling lonely though. He loved his pokemon, but some Human interaction would be nice.

Taking a deep breath as she wandered towards the lake, Ricki paced herself as she made her way down the path. Hair brushed and pulled back in a messy bun, clothes a bit more stylish than usual and effort clearly having been put into her appearance today. Pulling gently at the light fabric of her t-shirt, she made sure it really did fit as right as Ronnie had assured her before she nervously looked up and around. It might have been a shocking sight to see her looking so timid, but even the rough and tough Richelle Jace was afraid of rejection.
Scanning the lake for the person she was looking for, the moment she noticed where he was, her head ducked back down and she took a deep breath. Okay, this was it, there was no going back now. Surely he noticed her feelings by now, anyways. She was never very good at hiding it after all, but that did make her wander… No, she had to focus. She already made the choice and there was no going back now. Marching towards the figure in the distance, she called out “Jason!” The heel of her shoe, that was much taller than she was used to, suddenly got caught in the ground and forced her to whip around to avoid falling over. Her head jerked up, back now to Jason and for a brief moment, she found it easier to talk like this. Maybe heels weren’t that bad after all.
She heard him turn around, but before he could say a word, Ricki started “I-I have something to say that’s been on my mind for a while now!” Okay, stop yelling. “Almost since the day we’ve met, really, you’ve completely enchanted me, Jason. Your kindness, your patience, your genius, everything it just… I don’t want to sound too corny and I know I’m hardly the type of girl guys really want to date. I mean, let’s be honest, I can be a major bitch when I want to be, I’m foul tempered and a mess most of the time but I thought that maybe…” she trailed off with a deep breath as she reached down to take off her heels and jerked around. “Jason, I love you and was hoping we cou—” she cut herself off and her face turned a whole other kind of shade of red as she realized…
This was not the Jason she was looking for.
(I'm sorry it was there)

JUST SAY THAT YOU LOVE ME
CONFESSI♥N IN SESSI♥N
(Pair & Despair!)
There was still time to turn back. Really, all he had to do was just not say anything. Let this moment go on as it usually would, not try to shake things up at all, keep things as they had always been. And then all he would have to face was telling Jerry that he couldn't go through with it after all. Pathetic, sure, but honestly? There had definitely been moments when that prospect seemed a whole lot easier to face up to.
. . . But no, he had to at least try. It was pretty clear that he was as ready as he was ever going to be, present nervous-wreck state aside. If he didn't say anything now, it would be just like fate to have his chance lost for good. She would find someone else, probably someone a lot more confident, or go somewhere else and decide she wanted to stay, and she would be out of reach entirely. And it would pale in comparison to how beyond him she seemed now.
She was supposed to be heading out today on another job. He had decided to walk to where Ricki was staying, just to give himself more time to really prepare for this - only to come across her at the bus stop, and he inwardly cringed at discovering he had almost been too late anyway. He managed to greet her normally enough, coming to a stop by the bench and finally sitting down when invited to. A little time would pass with casual pleasantries before they fell into a (mostly) comfortable silence, Lucas' mind still battling back and forth with nerves as she continued playing with her PokeGear.
He just had to say something. Start somehow. Before a bus pulled up or something and then she would be gone.
"Uh, Ricki?"
And there he went. What was he even doing? He really couldn't back out now. Stop feeling like you just shot yourself in the foot, nothing has even happened yet. She looked over at him and asked what was up, and he fought back the urge to duck his head, just reaching his arm across his chest to fiddle absently with his shirtsleeve instead. Alright. Words.
". . . I . . . when you get back, I mean." A pause, his gaze briefly shooting upwards at the clear sky in quiet exasperation with himself. This shouldn't have been so difficult. This was Ricki - he had always been able to talk to her. . . . Yes, it was Ricki. She had always been pretty patient with him, understanding, since they had met. Even if he screwed this up entirely, could it really end up that bad? He swallowed, peering back over at her and managing a slight smile. ". . . Did you want to go- . . . out for lunch . . . or something?" It had been a perfect day. Halfway through December and the weather reports hadn't been kidding about the snow; a veritable blizzard swept through overnight leaving the town blanketed in white. Of course, a day filled with snowball fights, snowmen, and copious hot chocolate breaks had ensued, and now night had fallen, the clear skies creating even chillier temperatures and a crispness to the air, but allowing for the sight of thousands of beautiful stars.

JUST SAY THAT YOU LOVE ME
CONFESSI♥N IN SESSI♥N
(Pair & Despair!)
After everything he’d been through, after all the hardships, the struggles and things that might have left another person broken and long gone by now, there Jerry was today smiling and laughing. The very thought of just how he managed to make it so far without giving up under the pressure of everything was mind boggling. He knew that many times, again and again, he had gotten drastically close to that edge where he just couldn’t take it anymore but of course something had held him back. Something had stopped him from giving up, or more accurately, someone had stopped him from doing that. With another witty remark, the voice of his savior would laugh with a soothing melodic glee. Jerry would grin successfully and turn his emerald gaze to the young man beside him.
The Prince of Saffron, his angel in disguise and probably the most beautiful person Jerry had ever met, Lucas Courtwater graced him with his presence once more today. All day spent out in the snow, hitting the shops and checking out the holiday markets while belting out Christmas carols with him. It was their favorite time of the year and it wasn’t hard to see that they were all ecstatic about the holiday season. Of course with the winter season however, came the fact that the days were shorter and the nights were longer. With the sun having long since set, the two had taken to strolling down the snowy streets to inspect the light up decorations of the streets as they made the long walk home. Excitedly chattering back and forth, pointing out the lights and playfully bumping into each other, they were almost like a couple of kids. Although, the weight of the day would begin to take its toll, they began to settle down and fall into a comfortable silence with each other.
Lucas’s eyes continued to watch the shop windows with a silent awe, but Jerry’s gaze had left the Christmas decorations to watch the lights reflect in his friend’s breath taking sapphire eyes. As Lucas would look over at him, he’d ask about one of the decorations and Jerry casually tilted his head up to study it before laughing softly at the simple little Christmas tree before noticing something else in the shop window. There was a pause in his step, subtle but just enough for Lucas to ask if something was wrong. Jerry’s head jerked around to look at Lucas and there was a moment in which he just stared at his friend before he grinned and shook his head. “No, no… I just noticed something else, though. Stay right there, alright babe?” he instructed. With a nod or a sign that Lucas understood, Jerry raced into the store and snatched something from one of the shelves. He was careful to angle himself so Lucas couldn’t see what it was he had grabbed and as he would hurry to buy it and rush back outside.
Shoving the purchased item in his pocket, Jerry grabbed Lucas’s hand and quickly took the lead with little warning. Despite his friend asking where they were going, Jerry would just excitedly turn to him to tell him to just trust him. The words were the magic ticket to get Lucas to follow his flow without question which made this even more perfect. Breaking away from the path home, Jerry would hurriedly guide his friend to the nearest park the city had to offer and come to a stop under one of the lights that illuminated the path. They were completely alone now, not a shop tender or passerby to see the couple of boys out and about at the early hours of the night. Lucas looked around curiously, before looking back up at Jerry curiously.
Suddenly all the nerves would catch up with him at this point as he saw that look. Right, they had been friends this whole time, ever since they were five, so this might be mind blowing. The death of their friendship—No, Lucas would never push him away over something like this. After everything they’d been through, even after he said this, Jerry was… Mostly sure he’d still have Lucas there. Yes, even if he didn’t feel the same about him, it’d just be a brief bump in this epic bromance.
He let go of Lucas’s hand and adjusted the scarf he wore before noticing Lucas shiver ever so slightly when the winter breeze flew by. There was a pause between them for a moment, before smiling warmly at the blond and Jerry began to pull off his scarf. He moved to stand in front of Lucas and got to work on wrapping the scarf around his neck, taking his time to delicately wrap it into place and being careful not to make it too tight. A tad bit flustered, he could feel his heart racing as he considered what he wanted to say. It was hard to really think when he could feel those magnificent blue eyes watching him still. As he got to finishing up the proper tucking of the scarf into Lucas’s coat, he would open his mouth, but rather than say his words, a song would escape from Jerry’s lips.
“Close your eyes” he softly began, smiling gently as he finally found the notes and words for his precious friend. “Let me tell you all the reasons why – think you're one of a kind.” The scarf in place, he slowly withdrew his hands but moved them down to take hold of Lucas’s hands instead. “Here's to you, the one that always pulls us through” he continued, though his head stayed bowed as he sang. “Always do what you gotta do. You're one of a kind…” he sighed and chuckled lightly as he brought his head up to smile nervously at Lucas. “Thank God you're mine.”
There was a slight pause to gauge Lucas’s expression before he would continue with more confidence. “You're an angel dressed in armor. You're the fear in every fight. You're my life and my safe harbor, where the sun sets every night” he continued, gently squeezing Lucas’s hands as he wandered if even this song was right to properly convey his feelings for this amazing person before him. “And if my love is blind, I don't want to see the light.”
With a slow deep breath, he began to gently slide his thumb over Lucas’s cold hands. “It's your beauty that betrays you, your smile gives you away” he began, tilting his head down to inspect their hands to avoid locking his gaze with Lucas’s as he carried on with his song. “Cause you're made of strength and mercy, and my soul is yours to save.” He could almost feel emotions boiling inside him at this point, but he fought to keep his voice level. “I know this much is true. When my world was dark and blue…” He looked up, his emerald eye full of the passion and love he was building up inside. “I know the only one who rescued me was you.”
“Close your eyes. Let me tell you all the reasons why you're never gonna to have to cry, because you're one of a kind” he began to gently sway to his song, swinging their hands carefully and he couldn’t help but grin as he saw Lucas start to sway with him as well. “Yeah, here's to you, the one that always pulls us through. You always do what you gotta do baby, because you're one of a kind” he assured, before moving forward to rest his forehead against Lucas’s. He grinned happily at the other, his nerves seeming to melt away at this point.
“When your love pours down on me, I know I'm finally free. So I tell you gratefully…” He leaned back to bring Lucas’s hands up and gently held them to his chest, just over his heart. “Every single beat in my heart is yours to keep.” Keeping his hands over Lucas’s and held to his chest, he hoped the other’s cold hands would actually warm up being held like this as he would continue.
“So close your eyes. Let me tell you all the reasons why babe… You're never going to have to cry baby because you're one of a kind” he carried on, head held high as he started to sing a bit louder as if wanting a crowd that wasn’t there to hear him sing this now. “Yeah, here's to you. You're the one that always pulls us through. You always do what you got to do babe, 'cause you're one of a kind…” he gently trailed off and his shoulders slowly fell as he realized he was reaching the end of this tune. He glanced briefly off to the side, his nerves starting to come back and once more he fought to keep them at bay.
“You're the reason why I'm breathing…” Softly carrying on, he sighed and let his gaze turn back to Lucas. His hands holding the prince’s hands would slightly squeeze. “With a little look my way” tacking on that, he closed his own eye to keep up the courage as he managed the last two lines. “You're the reason that I'm feeling… It's finally safe to stay…” Letting the last words trail off, he fell silent for a long moment before he opened his eyes to meet Lucas’s gaze. The silence lingered for a bit longer before Jerry smiled and carefully brought Lucas’s hands up to his mouth. Breathing out gently to let his warm breath warm his hands up for a moment, he brought the hands back to his chest before he smiled warmly at Lucas.
“I love you, Lucas…” he reminded, but paused with a clear desire to go on. “I mean like… I really love you, Lucas” he softly emphasized before swallowing back some nerves. “Like I’m in love with you, in the way I just… I want to be with you. I know, Jerry-the-skirt-chasing-idiot is confessing he’s fallen for a guy but I can’t explain it. The most beautiful girl in the world could try to sweep me off my feet but if that meant having to go on without you by my side like you are now, I couldn’t do it” he rambled before feeling his face turning red. He bowed his head and chuckled nervously. “Damn, I was gonna try and pull out a mistletoe I just bought to lighten this up and make it funny but I don’t want to let go of your hands” he admitted, inwardly cringing at just how weird that sounded. He tightened his grip on Lucas’s hands and took a deep breath, looking up at Lucas. “… Be honest with me, Lucas. Your happiness and comfort means more to me than anything, so if you don’t feel the same, I understand. Babe, I love you and if there’s maybe a chance we could… Try being anything more than what we are right now… I-I at least give it a shot. So… What do ya say?”
He gave a timid little smile and after a brief pause, he leaned forward to kiss Lucas’s forehead and then jerked back and bowed his head. Face bright red, he just waited anxiously to hear the other’s reply.
On a bridge over a calm little river, Jerry leaned against the wall, resting his elbows on top of it to hunch over slightly. His eye trailed over the beautiful night sky, studying the stars in the sky and humming a soft tune. He could identify the planets and constellations and briefly closed his eye as he spotted a falling star. His eye slid back open and he resumed his humming as before, just calmly watching the sky. It seemed like he was waiting for someone...

JUST SAY THAT YOU LOVE ME
CONFESSI♥N IN SESSI♥N
(Pair & Despair!)
She didn't expect him to really listen to her request, for him to be waiting where she said to meet. She didn't even really give him a specific time to show up. How long had he been waiting? It made her regret the way she had asked him to be there, he'd be leaving soon and she was still trying to wrap up the Dawn's mess on her end. It was now or never though and she already had regret of not saying anything before to someone. She didn't want to repeat the same mistake twice she'd have to take a chance, the shot in the dark even if in the end he'd still leave on the boat going back to where he came from.
It was between her nightly rounds of checking all the children's places. She was dressed for battle to say the least, and would've given anything to be in a dress and pair of heels just then, to show him that bikini bottoms weren't part of her daily attire and that this really wasn't the only outfit she owned. Wryneck glided to a silent perch atop one of the streetlights that lined the bridge. Fier having already run ahead an hour ago to get a start in case something happened.
The heels of her boots clicked in the dim light as she made her way over and stopped near him looking out over the view. Her elbows coming to rest on the stone rails edge as she felt the wind push her hair back on her her bare shoulders. "I admit I didn't expect to still see you waiting." she held off calling him by name, for some reason whenever she said it he seemed to get distracted by it and part of her was unsure if it was novelty or if he was truly smitten by it. She loved the face he made whenever he did hear it though, which was another reason why she didn't say it. She'd get distracted and then his entire wait would be pointless.
His reply and inquiry of what she wanted or needed fell on deaf ears, instead she changed subject. "The lights are pretty tonight." she motioned out, her own eyes looking over the elegant homes and shops that lined the edges prompting him to return his gaze to the city. They stood there in silence listening to the sounds of distant traffic, crowd chatter both native and tourist tongue mulled in the air, the soft strings of a violin being played from a waterfront restaurant echoing across the dark brine. "Do you know why Luminose is called the city of lights?" the question coming out after several empty seconds as she side glanced at him. "There's an old saying for Luminose, 'Chaque fois que Dieu met une jolie femme dans la rue, le diable, en réponse met immédiatement un fou pour la garder.'" she spoke to him in her regions tongue before translating it for him. "Whenever God puts a pretty woman on the street, the Devil, in reply immediately puts a fool to keep her." Her head tipped to the side with a grin, the soft snort of the idea as her finger nails tickled the inside of her palm in nervous fidgeting. "That's how the city became known as Luminose, because love is like a book of matches here," she said nodding her head towards the lights that glittered the city. "Burning everywhere, around every corner there's someone just waiting for a fool to strike their fire."
The stories words hung in the air and she made no move to look at him, instead her eyes focused down towards the local marina at the far end of the river. ". . . . You've struck me." she finally said, her lips folding into a flat line at the confession as she looked down to the soft gold glow on the black waters then to her wringing hands. "And I wanted you to know that, if you'll hold onto me, I'll never burn your fingers...."
She had no idea if he even liked her in that manner, if she was his type, but the pirate had most definitely plundered part of her heart in his stay there. She'd miss that cocky smile of his, the way his red stood out and towered over most there. He was her poisson rouge (red fish) always swimming about the crowd going wherever he wanted without a care in the world. The way that one Peridot eye of his could hold all the expression without him every saying anything. She only hoped hers were able to do the same right now as she turned her head to look at him. "Je t'aime Jeri." she said quietly, as if they were in some private room and not standing in the middle of a bridge in the dark. "Je t'aime." She could only pray that within his time there he had picked up on some of the language. Middle of an argument with you over something stupid!

JUST SAY THAT YOU LOVE ME
CONFESSI♥N IN SESSI♥N
(Pair & Despair!)
Tense stares clashed as hands were thrown at the table, emphasizing each point until the other dismissed it with a wave of the hand. A thick, emotional current persistently egged Danny on, and his pride as a human being simply could not accept this situation. He originally had no idea who he was dealing with; pretty face, cute accent, and there was something edgy about her posture that he immediately liked. That confident, 'I-know-what-I'm-doing' stance nearly deterred him from confronting her altogether, but he was all for meeting new kinds of people, regardless of his initial impression. In a matter of minutes, he was riled up over this girl's tone. Where did she get off being so condescending? "You know, any other day, I would've been able to open it. It's not as if I'm the first guy in the world that struggled with this." He huffed, attempting to meet her in the eye, only to get overwhelmed by her implied accusation.
Perhaps if his approach had been better, this problem could've been avoided in the first place. It started off the same as it always had; drop a line, bat some eyelashes, get rejected, then laugh it off. It was an accepted routine that rarely presented problems, but a few off-handed comments were enough to give him a mental wedgie, and he was dying to save face. Normally it wouldn't have mattered. Normally he could've laughed this off. Normally, people didn't get at him like pins pricking underneath his fingernails, yet the glorious exception was standing before him today, snorting as she guarded an open jar of pickles. "I'm sorry, I mean--no. I'm not. No normal human can open that. In fact, I bet you did something to it to make it open easier for you." His eyebrows furrowed as he began to pace in front of the wooden picnic table, but this girl wasn't budging. In fact, if he hadn't known any better, it almost seemed as if she was having fun making all of these jests and jabs at his poor, beloved ego.
There. He could've sworn he saw an amused smirk just now, but the myth was gone before his mind could fully register the act. She was having fun with his over-the-top reactions, wasn't she? No? "Excuse me, but are you teasing me right now?" Pausing to judge her expression, his face was quick to flush at the lack of denial. She didn't have to confirm it to have him flustered, seeing how the possibility already made him wish he had a censor bar over his mouth. "You are. You really are, you--no. No-no, honey. That's what I'm supposed to do. I'm the heartbreaker. Me. You're just stealing my street cred, right here. And how am I supposed to react to the sudden competition? I...stop looking at me like that! I know I'm at least average looking, I could pull it off." All he could do was whine and whine, and he could never escape the feeling that he was being toyed with.
There was no doubt that this girl was smart, at least in his mind, and maybe she was a little justified in having that attitude of hers. He was no wise guy, but being reminded of that fact kind of sucked, and right now she was making his game tremble with fear. Frustrated but not willing to back down, he decided to prove himself in the one way he knew how; steal someone's pick up lines from the interwebs. It was a difficult trade, but he liked to think himself fluent in the art form. "Hey." Leaning in a little closer, it took the effort of 10 Rapidash to resist smiling at her confusion. "Listen, if you're not gonna give me my pickle jar back, can you do one thing for me?" Throwing in the usual puppy dog look would've been great, but he wanted to surprise her with a decent line. "Say 'Danny' out loud. Please?" It was an odd enough request, and anyone would've been suspicious about the vagueness of it. It seemed relatively harmless enough, so after a long, questioning stare, miss silver tongue was kind enough to oblige.
"Heh...I knew you'd sound cute saying it. Definitely. That's the cutest version of my name yet. I might've had my heart skip a beat at that, you know?" How he managed to get all of that out when he was sweating like a teenager excited for prom, he wasn't sure. Miracles or aliens, most likely. All he could do was laugh and bashfully turn to the side, wondering if he was coming on too strong to a girl who could probably kick his ass into the next region. "You come by often around here, right? Maybe...maybe we'll bump into each other again. If I'm lucky, ha." Kicking himself for not sounding more confident, his body was quick to retaliate with an army of butterflies attacking his major arteries. Right now, he was praying he wouldn't get sick from nerves. Twitching with anticipation, he couldn't even bother to hear her response. The awkward police was here, and Danny was under arrest. "Y-You know, you don't have to answer that. I don't need to know. I'm good." Resisting a shame-filled tear as he turned around, he instinctively bolted as far away as he could from whatever answer she might've had for him. Later, loser.
Casually enjoying the 'free' wifi at Phenac City's local ChAAArboks, the lazy drawl of smooth jazz leaves Danny lifeless in his chair, occasionally zoning off from the joys of the internet to stare out the nearest window. Time moves slowly as the Winter afternoon stubbornly chains itself to Orre, yet his sweetened cup of joe had already grown cold due to neglect.
