Welcome everyone to EPOCHS Halloween TRICK OR TREATS. Each of your characters may approach the Cauldron and call out "Trick or Treat" before delving their hand into the witches brew.
The Cauldron. The setting had just the right amount of light to create the atmosphere of Halloween, and the soft glow of light provided by fire. Such a sight was a little intimidating to a person the age of ten. Oh of course, she knew it was simply.. a game right? Still.. something about it was intimidating. It reminded her of being in the dark, surrounded by danger.. as she had been before. Surrounded by very real danger, it was almost silly that such a thing was intimidating her. Still, perhaps it was simply that the girl chose so often to lose herself in saccharine fantasies.. softness, pink, sweetness, and good manners. It was perfect then that in this time of spooky fright, she was clinging to the puffy pink princess dresses that many of her peers had adamantly avoided this year. Too childish and cutesy for them.
Perhaps it was this frame of mind about Halloween and life that made her sure of something strange.. in the fumes she could swear she smelled a delightfully sweet scent. Perhaps it truly did smell that way, or perhaps she was so blinded by the way she saw the world around her. Or perhaps the Cauldron was tricking her, knowing how to get her to approach. How to slowly lower her guard.. or maybe she was simply wearing the sweet scented body spray she had worn and all the candy in her trick or treat bag. Still.. her heart was still beating though. Beating so fast. She couldn't stop it.. she stuck her hand in with both eyes firmly closed.
There was no doubt what the girl was after, what Halloween meant to Angel. "Trick or Treat.. I mean.. Treat! I want a treat." and off she went, scrambling for her treat.. which was surely awaiting for her in the Cauldron, her imagination running wild with what might be inside. If.. if she felt what felt like.. brains she knew it was just spaghetti.. right? Not that she had felt anything like that yet. No. Not one was behind her about to creep up and spook her.. nothing bad was going to happen at all. Halloween was just a fun party.. right?
Flashbacks to the last Halloween went through her mind as the redhead stared into the bubbling cauldron. The first thing that came to mind was the weird Pokémon amalgamations she ran into on Twist Mountain, then there was the Halloween party she went to in Nimbasa, where she found out who her leader at the time was….
And then there were the memories of this very cauldron, or one very similar to this one, which she couldn’t recall as well. She wasn’t even sure if she actually did; it felt familiar but the memory wouldn’t come back. She couldn’t even remember why she would dip her hand into such a mess… but the promise of prizes was likely the culprit. Considering she could barely remember anything about this cauldron, if she DID dip her hand, she probably didn’t get much.
She still didn’t like the idea of dipping her hands in this mess, but still, she dipped her hand into the warm liquid.

Free candy. Unnur's eyes widened, her cheeks experienced an explosion of rose, her irises sparkled with glee, and she found she could think of nothing else but the free candy. Free food. Free everything. The young girl would give her surroundings a quick, furtive glance. Was there really nobody else but her in line? Didn't that... Did that mean she could maybe steal more than one? It most definitely did, didn't it? Jackpot. Unnur had hit the jackpot, and she was not letting go of this opportunity to snatch it for herself.
Before that, though, Unnur had to turn to look at her right shoulder, where a tiny little robin was peacefully perched up, for confirmation that it was indeed safe to approach that cauldron. Warner was tempted to shake his head no, but that would have made no difference in the end, for the blue-haired girl had already turned back to stare at the object she was fixated on since she first cast her gaze on it. "Trick or treat!" she exclaimed, blithely, as she introduced her tiny, slender hands into the big cauldron of magic and wonder and food. "Preferably a trick that gives me many treats."

Tommy wasn't the best person with Halloween. But, a holiday for free candy? Count him in. It was weird to see him dressed up. His usual green and black clothing could probably pass for a military outfit. But he did that yester-year. It was time for something new. And what did Olivia have in her "box of goodies," as she dubbed it? Not a single thing that he would want. But as he was going through it, he had the craziest idea. So what was his costume? His Aqua uniform. HAHAHA! PERFECT!
No one would suspect him of being a real Team Aqua member. He would just say he got the uniform thinking it was for sailors. He flashed a grin as he approached what looked like a cauldron. Clearly a decoration, but why in the middle of the road? He tilted his head as a light breeze flowed past his ear. With it came a whisper.
Trick or Treat?
He swung his hand behind his back, thinking someone was there. But nothin. As the steam rose from bubbling pot, the whisper came again. The same thing. "Trick," Tommy answered. He then put his hand into the pot. It was warmer than he expected. He expected it to be so hot, his skin would melt off. He did wonder what would be in there though.

they said it changes when the sun goes down
Evangeline was delightfully surprised when she found a big, steaming, and very much imposing, and rightfully capitalised Cauldron where yesterday there had been nothing but asphalt and dust. Different shades of unnatural greens and purples wafted out from inside, giving it the same enigmatic aura that the girl remembered from the last year, the year before, and many, many years before that. Evangeline approached it at a slow, overly careful pace. Despite the image of this large metal pot bringing a smile to her face every year, Evangeline could never quite recall why, or what happened after she immersed her gloved hands inside the viscous mix. It couldn't possible be a bad thing, if it got such elation from her, but the very fact that Evangeline could never remember her previous trick-or-treats was already worrisome.
Well, no matter. The lavender-haired woman was not particularly known for her caution, and this occasion would not be the exception. "Here goes..." she said. Anticipation was consuming her soul. The Cauldron was now within arm's length, and she would not think twice about dipping her sky blue gloves inside.
Odd, unexpected incidents tend to find ways to creep into people's lives during Halloween but, until now, Erin had found herself partial to them, at most. Simple, old visual tricks were of no interest to her, for they were all too easy to figure out after having been exposed to them throughout good part of her childhood. Well, that should better remain one small detail that nobody but her family library's walls, books, and the bookshelves containing them, should know about. It bore no relevance to the subject at hand, anyhow. Which subject at hand, you ask? Why, the gigantic cauldron that had materialised out of thin air and in the middle of the street, of course.
She stared from afar, unsure of what to make of the dark-coloured bowl. While magic tricks were nothing of novelty for Erin Caulfield, humans' irrational actions were one matter she'd never understood, or been able to understand, in its entirety. Who would position this highly obtrusive object in the middle of the street? Only a madman. It was only once she'd noticed that many a man would approach it, dip their hands inside, and leave with a cry or a laugh. Odd, indeed. Reactions would alternate from person to person, which succeeded in piquing Erin's interest. What were they immersing their hands and even whole arms in for?
Okay, she would have to try this, too.
Erin waited until most of the busy bodies buzzing around the had left, and walked steadily forward. Once she was right in front of the cauldron, she extended her right arm, the strong one, and reached inside. "Trick or treat," she whispered, eyes darting back and forth in gleeful expectation.
"*As part of our agreement to me being your butler, I am allowed one day off every month, with which I can drag you along with me to perform any entertaining task I desire.*" The tiny sableye with trainer in towe finally arrived at the cauldron that had seemed to have appeared in a puff of smoke the moment the hallowen night had settled in. The small sableye pointed towards the cauldron, which seemed dark and dim on the inside, almost as though it was bottomless. "*With said day off, I ask you place your hand into this cauldron, performing the halloween right!~*"
Kuto could only stare at her butler in disbelief. She had never seen him as one to actually give in to holiday activities, but then again, he was a ghost type, halloween probably resonated with him somehow. WIth a sigh, she stepped closer to the cauldron, dipping her hand in and rooting around for something. "Trick or treat I suppose..."
Emeline had heard rumors about this special cauldron that would grant you a prize if you delved your hand into the witch's brew, and this piqued her curiosity. As the dark haired female reached the place where the event took place, she saw several people bury their hands or even their entire arm into the cauldron, biting her lip nervously as she waited in line. Her heart raced against her chest in anticipation as Emeline removed her glove from her right hand, the line moving rather quickly than she had expected. The girl was four people away from figuring out whether she wanted a "Trick" or a "Treat", and she already had an answer formed in her mind. Soon, she was one more person away from finding out what she would get, swallowing hard with a nervous smile.
The colors green and purple were very evident in the cloud of smoke coming from the brew, her nose scrunching before she took a deep breath and released it slowly. "Trick or Treat." She whispered to herself, hoping with all her heart that she was doing this right before delving her hand into the brew.

Trick or Treat? Odd, that a cauldron had just appeared like that... The blonde would pull up on a motorcycle before climbing off, his partner, a Pikachu named Lightning with a little blue bandannaon, climbed out with him, with the cutest little motorcycle on that you'd ever see. He approached the cauldron carefully, cautiously... He gazed around, looking to see if anyone was going to pop out and try to scare them. Of course, this was Lightning's first halloween, Josh knew that if someone popped out, they'd be the ones getting "Tricked". Guaran-damn-tee it.
"Alright, Lightning... You ready for this?" he asked. "Pikachu!" Lightning chirped in response, nodding in affirmative. He was just as ready as his Trainer. "Alright... Here goes" Josh said, taking a deep breath. "Treat!" he called out, as the instructions on the sign said. "Treat, please. Uh..." he trailed off nervously before sticking his hand in the cauldron, obviously a bit jittery about all this.
Stuck behind a bunch of sugar-doped tweens was the worst part of the night. It took everything in his power not to sneer at their pitiful costumes and their ridiculous discussion - really, who had ever heard of some sort of skeleton war? They were even taking and using up words such as "skeletariat and bonegeoisie" and it was quite ridiculous. He was half tempted to shove them to the side and bypass them when a small tugging hit his sleeve. He looked down.
What in the fuck was that. It was pink, fuzzy, and... oh. It was a child in some kind of costume. Vasily raised his sleeve to pry off the small monster snack when it refused to let go. "I insist that you detach yourself." "HEYA MISTER LESSA GO GET CANDY PLEEEEASE THEY SAID I NEEDA ADULT" and since no one was looking and it would shut up the sound trap, he let the munchkin lead him over. Had anyone saw them, he would simply make a phone call to make them unsee everything in their life.
And finally the kid had him next to some kind of pot. Weird. "MISTER YA GOTTA STICK YER HAND IN FOR TRICKS AND TREATS!"
What. This was even dumber, he couldn't believe the kid expected him to do that. It was ridiculous oh wait what is going on with this kid he is freaking out, alright already. He went ahead and plunged his hand in, grimacing the whole way.

When Thomas heard about the rumors of the cauldron, Thomas scoffed at them at first. But with some encouragement from Bubbles, Thomas decided to humor the Pokemon. Besides, the trainer really had nothing better to do on his birthday either way. Not that he really cared at this point, given the fact that he never really celebrated it, it was nothing more than a day where he got older, and where people dressed up for some stupid reason.
The bubbly Azumarill walked up eagerly to the mysterious cauldron, Thomas trailing right behind her. When they finally reached it, Bubbles looked to her master, a smile on her face, anticipating the hopefully good results of their latest venture.
"Nothing to lose, I suppose...", Thomas muttered. In response, the Azumarill glared at him for his tone, a cry of protest emitting from her.
"Trick or Treat!", called out Thomas, somewhat hesitantly. This caused the Azumarill to snap back to a more cheerful mood, knowing her trainer was finally going to have some fun that wasn't being cooped up in their hotel room or apartment.
Memories of being tricked back in Lilycove plagued the trainer's mind as he reluctantly dunked his hands into the cauldron, expecting yet another trick.

Arietta smiled at her Pokemon hovering around her. She knew and had known since was a child that this time of year was Misdreavus' favorite. For such a spirit of mischief like her, such a day felt like a celebration of everything she held dear.
Arietta had told herself this was why she had taken part. Her own memories of Halloween had involved lots of children who didn't understand her, lots of people she wanted to forget. She hated those children, they had.. taken a lot of joy away from her. Still, as time had gone on.. she well basically had gotten into it. Picking a costume, picking costumes for her Pokemon, and eventually had had found activties in the area that were worthwhile.
A lot of laughter and.. a surprising amount of fights due to some creative use of Ghost Pokemon, and a dressed up Arietta, in the fashioned like a old fashioned lady.. with a very long veil. She thought she looked like such a doll, and her goulish but stylish makeup were simply perfect.
Losing sight of Misdreavus, she turned to look for her.. "You won't scare me Misdreavus.." she said, but the assumption was quickly proven wrong.. her Misdreavus was staring at a tent. "What's so interesting in here?" Arietta spoke, lifting the side to reveal.. a strange cauldron. It seemed to have been recently attended, there was a strange.. fume coming out of it. It seemed the case to her anyway. There was a sign above it that told her what she should do... but she was nervous. Who just stuck their hand in a strange cauldron just because someone told her too?
Misdreavus nudged her though, her eyes wide.. had she wanted to see it too? Fine.. fine. She pouted as she hustled over to it.. taking delicate steps. She closed her eyes.. telling herself she wasn't afraid as she.. stuck her hand in. "Trick or Treat.. perferrably a treat."
You don't know them like I do
A treat for such a treat, of course. Also yes, Arietta and Angel meet for this silly event. Took me a while to condense the overly long post to this size.

Since it was Halloween after all, Kouji here decided to just dive into the spirit of things—apparently, there was a cauldron set up somewhere; and anyone was free to stick their hands into it for a treat—or something along those lines. Since he didn’t know what to expect, he then headed over to where the cauldron had supposedly appeared overnight—still wearing the same “costume” that he’d worn to the Haunted Wood walk with Angel. He then noticed that most of the people running up to the cauldron were kids—but there were a few who were around his age; if not just a few years younger than him—had made their way to the cauldron and were trying their luck at whatever…horror it would spit out.
After watching a few more young individuals take their turn at the cauldron, it was now free for him to step up to the plate… and then try his luck. He then saw a sign near the cauldron that said something along the lines of calling out the classic words “Trick or Treat” before sticking his own hand into the bubbling goo. Well, I have nothing to lose… he thought as he then straightened up before eventually hollering out, “Trick or Treat!” before plunging his right hand into the gooey mass that was bubbling—he already had a lot of mental images about his hand being cooked; but strangely the liquid wasn’t that bad. Or was it?Well, I hope I get a treat and not a trick… he thought as he then waited for something else to happen…

some coincidences are deliberate
not really / here's to wishing for a treat! / 246
After hearing from her younger brother about the funny-looking cauldron that had appeared seemingly overnight (and that he’d actually tried his luck within it for once) she then decided to check it out for herself. Normally, she knew that he wasn’t one to take part in such frivolity—what had pushed him to do so? She then scratched her head before chuckling to herself as she then followed the directions that he’d given her—in order to be able to find the “cauldron” that was simmering. Wondering if whatever inside it would be a treat… or worse, a trick, she then waited for this really tall, ash-haired guy to step aside in order to be able to walk up to the bubbling pot itself, before looking around and seeing a sign that detailed on what they had to do.
Well, I don’t know about it, but my luck’s been pretty horrible lately. I wonder, indeed… she thought as she then approached the cauldron, before calling out to whatever spirits were running the show, “Trick or Treat!” before adding to herself, Well, I do hope I get a treat… things have been pretty shitty for me lately. At least me and Tom are getting to know each other more, as siblings of course, she thought as she then plunged her hand into the bubbling mass that the cauldron was apparently boiling; wondering if she’d be able to pull something that would spell either victory or utter defeat!
