bird calls

Kouji had just settled down to another pot of tea and the Unova Daily when he heard Neili, his Chansey, trying to get his attention. “Hm?” he began, looking up and seeing that she was trying her best to hold something that was vibrating—his phone! He then very nearly upset the table as he made a dive for it—because she’d lost her balance, and the phone was now soaring through the air! “Yikes!” he almost shrieked, barely managing to catch the trembling phone—it was on vibrate, plus there was a message flashing on its screen. “Oh, right, have to return the ones I borrowed and… oops, she wants me to do what now?” he muttered, checking the phone screen to see if he was looking at things right. “Ah, alright. Guess it helps keep me busy…” he trailed off as he then went back to the front; and saw that there was some cash that had been left behind—apparently, one of the new guys he’d hired for day work at the ranch had dropped by and was starting today; so there was the little surprise of 15 extra on the counter.
“Guess the guy’s been here,” he said, going out back and quickly recalling both Onix and Snorunt, before sending them back to where they had come from; and this time inputting another set of commands and watching two new Pokeballs make their appearance. “Aha. Wait, what?” he muttered once more, grabbing the phone he’d left atop the counter—he was going to get to keep the Swablu he was getting from her storage? “Talk about weird, but a gift’s a gift…” he said with a whistle as the Chansey then proceeded to follow him as he went out back again and then this time sent out both avians; one he knew that was just literally a flying mass of clouds that he was now free to rename, now that it had been officially given to him; as well as a very unusual-looking bird… one that looked like flying fire. He didn’t know what the other one was called; but apparently she had sent him a request in order to be able to get something out of ‘em. “Alright, you two… be nice to each other, okay? Call Neili—that’s the Chansey there right behind me—if you need anything…”
He then left the two birds to their own devices; deciding to return to his pot of tea and the newspaper that he was supposed to have read by now.

The pot of tea was half-gone when Kouji thought he heard a squawking noise; but dismissed it at first. It wasn’t until the pot was completely empty that he caught sight of the Chansey, all flustered and panting as if she’d ran a marathon, that he knew that something wrong had happened—from the worried look on her face, he could tell that it… didn’t go down too well.“Oh, crap,” was all he had time for as he followed the Chansey back down the stairs, before stopping at the stock room and going inside, to retrieve a particular something in order to be able to make sure that this would end up being a success in the near future. “Alright, Neili, take me to them…” he continued as he emerged from the stock room some five minutes later, holding a peculiar-smelling mushroom. The Egg ‘mon then proceeded to march outside and then pointed at the spot where the two avians were showing each other their tail feathers, and he could only slap his free hand to his forehead as he approached the two.
“Alright, alright, what happened,” he began, and the Fletchling quickly hopped onto his outstretched hand and began chirping agitatedly. In its defense, the Swablu continued to shuffle around and show the two its… fluffy, cloudy tail; clearly something had happened and the Fletchling wasn’t going to stand for it! “Well… can you calm down and…” he trailed off, at a loss for words; before watching the Fletchling sniff at the mushroom that he was holding. Noticing that he was now somewhat calming down, he then set said funky mushroom down between the two, and continued watching as the ash-colored Fletchling hopped off his hand and then began rolling the weird, multi-colored thing towards the Swablu who was still showing its tail in its face…and at that point he decided to leave the two alone, just to see if the “reconciliation” would work!

She was in the area after all, so why not pay the place a visit? She wasn’t expecting to actually run into the hired help that her sponsor had employed at the Ranch though, and was a bit shocked to see an actual person behind the counter, instead of the Gallade nor the Chansey! “Well, well, doesn’t this make things interesting…” she muttered to herself as she then set down her own personal incubator on the counter. “I’m here for one of the Swablu eggs…” she began, before taking a seat and then watching the assistant stare at her; before he got moving, quite surprised to see the benefactor of the Ranch paying a visit in the flesh, right here and now! “A’ight, Miss, give me a momen’, an’ I’ll get it for ya,” he began, sounding off in a drawl that was quite like the Professor’s that she was sidelining for. Heh, at least you’re not a red-head and all that… she thought to herself as she then lounged around on the sofa, hearing the ticking of a clock somewhere in the room.
It had taken all but the better part of five minutes, and the guy was back, holding the Incubator—and there was a weird egg that had markings that looked very much like a cloud’s, along with a particular Friend Ball; this one contained the now-slumbering Fletchling within it. “Ah, thanks much,” she said, standing up and retrieving the precious cargo, before chuckling as she then carted the thing under her arm and dropped the Fletchling’s containment unit down the jacket of her pocket. “Thanks, I’ll be back again with a few more requests and stuff…” she continued, waving a hand in farewell as she then exited the premises of the Ranch, before making a mental note to remind him about the little “thing” that she’d requested sometime ago—she knew that Josh was looking for one of those particular ones, and she would have to see about getting it done before the week was over!

scheduled breeding

Kouji’s phone had gone off again, and he then remembered that there were a few things he had to get to—the first one was the agreed breeding that he’d scheduled for the week; while the other one, he’d get to deal with in a few days. He then whistled as he picked up his mug of tea and then walked outside into the ranch grounds, looking for the aggressive little Froakie—and finding her right by the tree where his Treecko always lounged in, lopsided tail hanging off to one side and chewing on a branch. He could tell that they’d just finished their little “sparring session” because she looked all beaten up and scruffy; whereas the Treecko still looked fresh as a daisy! “Oy, you two have been fighting again? Ya’ri, what the hell have you been doing to her? She looks like she’s been through the mill!” he said, looking up at the tree—and the Treecko there let out an innocent-sounding whistle, which Kouji took as a cheeky remark. “Heh, you could try to take it easy on her in the future you know,” he remarked a few moments later as he scooped up the agitated Froakie and then walked towards the shoreline, where he knew the more “aquatic” Pokémon lounged.
“Hey, Kai! Where are you?” he shouted at first, seeing more of the lazier Water-types ambling by, floating in the shallows—hell, he saw C’thulhu sunbathing on the surface of the waves; while Alistar, as always, was fishing off the makeshift pier. He had recently been allowed to expand his “beachfront” section of the ranch, so it took a lot more walking before he found Kai(dra) flopping near one of the newly-extended shorelines, trying to get back into the water. He was stuck in a puddle, and was trying to jump so desperately back into the ocean, all to no avail! “Oy, what are you doing here, Kai…” he trailed off, quickly letting the Froakie hop off his arms and then waded into the surf. Kouji, on the other hand, picked up the flopping Skrelp and then dropped him off in the bubbling froth, to which he splashed water his way; as a way of saying “Thank you”.
“Hey, no wetting the hand that feeds you,” he shot back with a chuckle, before leaving the two to do their own thing…

Josh laughed a bit as he casually teased Izumi about her habit of constantly consuming spicy foods in Lavaridge on the phone as he walked into the ranch. She'd called him to tell him about another egg that her affiliate had brought around, and due to his good mood was giving them up. Always ecstatic to add a Pokemon to his group, Josh would accept the offer to take one and would be on his merry way.
"Hmm, what's that Pokemon?" he asked himself as he looked through the ranch, noticing a Skrelp and a frog-like Pokemon walking through the ranch together. Of course, Josh had never seen a Froakie before, only Yumi's Greninja. He would, of course, be in for quite the surprise down the road....
Back to the present though, Josh shot the friendly assistant a smile as he was directed to a blue and white egg. He hadn't seen this one before....

He knew that his “lackey” was now reporting to work on a regular basis; and he’d gotten to know hi so far—for some reason, he tended to treat Kouji like an older brother—it was only then he realized that his young helper had just hit twenty a few days ago! Heh, no wonder he’s extremely enthusiastic… he thought to himself as he then got word via the intercom he’d installed that one of the Froakie eggs had been picked up by their designated recipient, and that there were two balls waiting in the Transporter! “Eh, but what the…” he trailed off, standing up from the floor of the stock room, before heading out and then getting his phone tossed at him. “So, yea’, someone wants these two bred. I don’t know who sent the order, bu’ they claim to know ya,” his companion said in that weird drawl that he was still getting used to. “Alright, thanks for letting me know,” he began, before heading over and scooping up the two—and then realizing just who wanted the order done.
Hah, seriously? He thought with a grin on his face as he tapped the Pangoro’s and the now-Electivire’s Pokeballs, before heading out back. His companion at the Ranch was quick to learn—because the Fletching was no longer there, and that it had already been returned. “Alright, you two, come on out,” he said, releasing the two from their containers, and watched as the now-Electivire appeared and began letting loose a few sparks of electricity; while the other one turned into something that resembled a certain film icon he’d just seen on home video lately! “Now I get it. Ful, you already know the drill,” he said, cracking a smirk in the Electivire’s direction, to which she responded with a few crackling zaps; before turning to the unfamiliar-looking, bipedal panda. “Tai-Po, right? Heh, I knew Miss Yumi would name you after that legendary icon… so… yeah, if you two need to wrestle, do it; if you need anything… just let the Chansey know. She knows where to find me,” he added with a chuckle, giving a respectful bow in the Pangoro’s direction, before leaving the two to have a wrestling match before actually getting to it.

She then decided to drop by her sponsor’s Ranch while she was at it, and then called up Tom’s number, before leaving a message for him—because she’d received a message that there were two eggs from the Pangoro attempt; and they’d decided to split them down the middle—meaning, they would each have one of their own. At least I better get moving and grab mine before something else happens, she thought to herself, before quickly shooting a message to Josh’s mobile as well, informing him that there was still another Swablu available over at her sponsor’s place, before setting foot on the premises. “Ahh, so peaceful…” she said to herself, taking in a few deep breaths before actually heading into the “front office” and seeing that his purple-haired assistant was busy reading something and was apparently trying to cobble something together from the parts she noticed that were scattered across the counter. “Heh. I’m here for the Pancham egg and my Electivire,” she said in a quiet voice, before chuckling and settling down on the sofa that was near the entrance!
With a surprised yelp coming from his direction, she watched with an amused grin on her face as the panicked assistant then looked up and saw that there was someone sitting on the sofa—and almost flipped the counter over, if given the chance! “A’ight, wait a momen’ for the egg an’ yer Pokémon, miss,” he said in his drawl—although he did sound more shaken-up than usual. She then grinned and then began flipping through her mobile phone—until she looked up and saw that he was there, holding another Incubator along with her Electivire’s Pokeball balanced atop it. “Here ye’ go,” he muttered, looking extremely sheepish as she then took the items off his hands and then smirked in his direction as the assistant went back to his position behind the counter… and then resumed tinkering around with the stuff on the table.

Post by Thomas Thaddeus on Sept 6, 2014 8:38:11 GMT -5
Once again, Izumi managed to hook Thomas up with yet another Pokemon Egg. This time, it was that of a Pancham, a Pokemon that Thomas had encountered in the Sanlatune Forest the day he rescued that Pichu, and evolved Scorpio and Ripper. At the time, the cute panda, which Izumi showed him in picture form in the message, walked off disappointed for some strange reason. But rather than investigate, Thomas had to run to Sanlatune City at that moment to get Ripper checked out.
But in any case, his friend gave him that second chance at getting a Pancham, and he was thankful for it. Perhaps he'd have to hook her up with something good in the future.
In any case, Thomas walked into the ranch, and approached the desk. He had the dots necessary to pick up the egg laid out on the desk already.
"Hey, I'm here to pick up one of the two Pancham eggs.", explained Thomas.

"Swablu, huh? Zuzu, you are a fucking lifesaver" the blonde joked to Izumi as they walked through the ranch. Another phone call, another egg buy. This time, apparently these particular ones even knew Agility! It was certainly an interesting thing indeed, and Josh was excited to see it hatch.
Josh smiled as he was led to the egg. He picked it up, looking over the blue and white egg. "It's amazing" he said quietly as Lightning stood on Josh's shoulder, staring down at it. "Pika Pika..." he let out as he marveled at the egg. One day, it would become a new teammate and a new friend! Lightning couldn't wait! And he knew that Josh couldn't wait either.
Of course, then came price. Josh smiled at Izumi and handed her the money that he had offered in return. As Izumi took the money, Josh would bid his friend farewell, and head out to raise a new friend when the time was right.

This time, Kouji was away; leaving the assistant to “man the fort”. Wondering why he was suddenly put in charge, he could only scratch his head as he was handed a mobile phone and then received instructions to “always be on the lookout for messages. If it’s a breeding request, get to it right away,” and then the owner had left him right here! “Arr, why’d he hafta go on a vacation now, o’ all times…” he groaned, rubbing his head—he was still working on a potential “project” that he had to showcase over in Castelia in a few weeks, and now the Ranch was left in his own hands! Never mind the fact that there was a sudden…influx of Pokémon that were running around the Ranch’s domain, it was just that he wasn’t used to being in charge of anything! “Ugh, why me…” he muttered, quickly tossing the phone down on the counter and getting back to the hodge-podge that he was trying to cobble together—an alarm clock that ran purely on water.
A few moments later he heard the mobile phone go off; and then knew that he had to get busy—before scooping up the vibrating piece of technology and navigating through it; finally seeing a message coming from his “boss”, and then seeing that they had an order to get to. “A’ight, a’ight, I’ll get to it, don’t get yer underwear all twisted,” he muttered, sending a quick reply to his boss, acknowledging the message in order for him to actually get to work! “An Elgyem an’ a Kadabra… huh, looks like he’d a’ready done this before…” he muttered, scratching his violet mop of hair before heading out back and then looking at… the… zoo of Pokémon that were just horsing around the area. “Oyyy, he needs more space…” he groaned, looking around, trying to find the two ‘mons requested. The Elgyem was easy to spot; it was always hanging out with its “twin”; but the Kadabra was harder—he finally found it under one of the trees, apparently meditating while holding a spoon.
“Hey. Hey,” he said in the Kadabra’s direction, raising his voice—and then hearing another voice speak inside his mind. “Yes? Oh, you’re his new assistant? What seems to be the problem? Speak in your mind—I can understand you better that way.”
He gave a yelp of shock and then looked at the Kadabra…who was now smirking at him. “Strange little…” he trailed off, before screwing up his thoughts and then speaking back in his head, “Well, the boss asked me fo’ a breedin’. It seems you’ve been wi’ this Elgyem already?”
“Ah, yes. Don’t worry, you can leave Roswell here—the Elgyem. I’ll get to what you need done.”
“Err… are you sure? Okay,” he finished, feeling his head beginning to spin—as he then left the Elgyem beside the Kadabra so that the “magic” could happen!
