RICKI & RONNIE
THE LAMIA
coded by Sylvie
[attr="class","scrollergrey"]So Ronnie & Ricki are Lamia's
The legend is that Lamia's are child-eating demons. This is because a god got jealous of her husbands affair and as punishment forced the woman to devour her own children she sired with the husband. The mistress lost her mind to grief and despair and ended up stealing and devours other people's children out of envy. This action is what turned her into a Lamia.
Lamia are girls only. Boys are born from Lamia but they will carry the father's bloodline. There are no half Lamia, Girls will inherit certain small characteristics from the father that will show in either scale coloring, venom, or appearance. Boys will inherit their fathers "magic" / abilities while retaining pieces of his mothers looks or personality.
Ricki and Ronnie's family are a distant 'relation' to vampire and succubi in general as they feed on blood. That is where the connection lies. BUT this half of the family tree, when you hear about Lamia/naga etc isn't familiar when you speak with a vampire or succubi. It's one of those, things they find out much later on down the line in life or sometimes not even at all.
An Oh hey you're /kinda/ like me. But you'd never realize or pick up on it at first glance.
Velvet is what vampires call the Lamia since the Lamia are "warmth (blood) drinkers"
Lamia do not need blood to eat or drink to survive it's more or less tied in with the curse which places them in that category.
Lamia in essence are a bit of a "gray sheep" as opposed to black when you see them being discussed by vampires/succubi. They're not very popular or well known.
(Black sheep - term used to describe someone who feels left out in a family. Basically, the outcast of the family because they choose to do other things than live up to their parents' standards.)
Lamia have fangs that secrete a powerful poison. This is used as both a deadly toxin, medicinal extract and as a vinegar season for chips and fries.
Lamia -blood- to vampires and a few other raw meat eaters is poisonous. Dizziness Drowsiness Fatigue Headache Loss of appetite Minor skin or eye irritation Nausea or upset stomach ------Major signs------ Blurred vision Confusion and disorientation Difficulty breathing Drooling Excessive tearing Fever Rapid heart rate Seizures Sweating Thirst Trembling Weakness
Cure is to either let it run it's course through the body this could take days before it's burnt out or a specific type of Anti-venom formed from the Lamia the poison came from, in mass quantities.
It IS true that the Lamia devour their own children, their first born. This is due to the curse placed on the original Lamia. Ricki is not the first child to her mother, Ronnie is not the first child either. It's a secret that the family hides out of grief, guilt and shame. Ricki and Ronnie both had two older sisters, Elsya and Evie. They do not know about these sisters that were devoured after birth. Their mothers turning into the serpentine appearance and being forced to consume their children out of instinct. This happened at different times, Elsya was 5 when she was eaten. Evie made it to 2.
It is only the first child that is sacrificed. The second child and those that follow are safe from harm. This is never spoken about until the child is old enough to know and due to the nature of it, when they find out they ever say anything to the young ones leaving them oblivious to find out on their own.
Ronnie however, being the nosy thing that she is, read the old scrolls that are typically ignored. She knows what happens but doesn't say anything.
There is ONE rumored hint to lifting the curse and that is for the mother to consume a stone the same weight as her child to spare it. This was quickly abandoned by the family as the mothers cannot digest stone and in essence kill themselves.
This way to lift the curse not only effects the child but the father as well. The father, if he truly cares is said to stare on in grief at the loss of his wife as he witnesses to her true form. Her death leaving him with child before his vision blurs as he goes blind and bares with it the gift of prophecy.
Ricki & Ronnie's grandpa is very old and blind, kind of cranky at times but fun/funny with the two girls. They love their grandpa. He is a prophet, his wife died eating two stones to save Jane & Janelle.
Sometimes the father will carry on raise the child, other times the father will kill the child and himself. Hence why Lamia are not discussed very often or well known.
Crude words to be called are Sweepers, Baby-hugger, Second-born
All referring to the way the Lamia are cursed to consume and kill children.
But Lamis are also seen as "Fairy-tale figures, used by mothers and nannies to induce good behavior among children."
Despite all this negativity they are very striking creatures. Seductive, enchanting, they are very much a soft beauty on par with the ethereal eternity that is the succubus and vampire.
Sometimes their beast slips, the rage or 'hood" that is kept in check by the serpent band. A snake arm cuff that is placed on the bicep to keep the viper in check. This keeps the primal side at bay but does not fully hinder them from protecting themselves. Allowing fangs to extend and the eyes to change to seek out the heat or chill of another to strike and battle. Their speed and movements fluid however they are not rapid punch fighters. They are ones for surprise standing there stalk still waiting for the moment to strike. The spit of poison to the eyes blinding the enemy before biting the throat or back of neck to kill or paralyze them. They also have superior arm and leg strength when threatened. The ability to snuff out a life in a single strangle hold.
The most potent of poison comes from the first fangs. The poison is strong enough to kill the child itself if not taken care of properly which is why milking the venom out through a bubby is essential and extremely important.
The Lamia's skin and scales are also coveted treasures because of their exotic gilded gemstone coloring and designs. Used as good luck charms, ingredients for powerful medicinal purposes and spells, and sometimes even fashion items such as gloves, purses, belts, and boots.
And for those with a taste of the highest caliber, Lamia meat is considered a top-tier delicacy.
Warlocks are said to be wizards gone awry. Their kind, Wizards this is, had always tapped into the magical energy crisscrossing the world, using it as they pleased. Creating storms, healing children, raising the dead; No task was too great for one trained in the arcane arts. There was, however, one rule all Wizards upheld: "Ye shall not share thy gift with the mundane." For eons, the rule was held to the highest standard, never broken. That is, until the Wizard known as "Merlin" conceived a child with a mortal woman, thus ushering in the first Warlock. The child was born with an unnatural knack for causing chaos, his magic far more powerful than his father's, but much harder to control. In fact, to this day, most Warlocks are incapable of completely controlling their magic; needing to release the chaotic energy somewhere.
For this reason, Warlocks are unable to restrain from using their magic for more than a week after it starts appearing, usually around puberty. Should they attempt to do so, the magic will being to manifest itself as a physical malady, causing migraines, nausea, diarrhea, and in the worst cases, death. The body of one found dead from this sickness, named Arcanea, is said to have swelling around the fingertips and forehead, singed fingertips, and bloodied ears.
Derogatory Terms Mudblood - Reference to having mundane blood in their veins. Blackcat - Bad luck is often referred to as chaos. Witchbitch - Fairly obvious. Oathbreaker - From Wizards.
Many Warlocks are known to other magical users as powerful, but deceptive, and should never be trusted. Wizards inherently detest Warlocks and are known for murdering them, all in the name of "Justice". Either way, Warlocks are seen as evil and conniving in the general public's eye. They use people for what they want, not caring who they hurt.
What you must ask yourself is this; Is the Warlock sitting next to you a friend or foe?
A magical prodigy, straight A student, class clown, StuCo Historian, and head of the Junior Mage's Guild; Jason is a fairly popular figure at the school. Due to his magical prowess and skill with enchanting others, Jason entered the renowned private school with a completely paid for scholarship, not that he needed it. His family, the Royde's, are known globally for their interest in the metaphysical and are large contributors to that particular field of science in the mortal realm. However, to the mystical side of the population, they are known as a cruel and influential family of Warlocks.
The Royde family are direct descendants of the original Warlock, Godric, and are often considered the oldest living magical family. Because of this, the family is known for considering themselves above other magic users, especially Wizards, and usually don't consider the more animalistic creatures as people. In the eyes of a Royde, if you don't look like a person, you don't deserve to be treated like one. Just because they consider themselves the best and most powerful doesn't mean they are, in fact, they're anything but! The last known Royde for their magical power was nearly half a millennium ago, a woman known as Abigail Williams, who was an incredibly capable seductress. Up until seventeen years ago, the family was nothing more than an average, if not below average, family of magic users. However, with the birth of Jason, the family was ushered into a new era of magical power.
Jason was born on a full moon, on the seventh day of the seventh month, as the seventh son of a seventh son, on the seventh hour from a magically induced labor. None of this was a surprise for his parents, for each specialized in different branches of magic themselves, striving to bear a gifted child. Being the seventh child, Jason should have been surrounded by six other siblings; yet, he found he was alone. Jason's father, a frequent visitor to the underworld and hellish realms, sacrificed the sixth other infants in order for Jason's birth to be at the ripest moment for magical empowerment. His mother was no innocent witch either, concocting potions and elixirs to assist with the pregnancy. And so, the magical genius was born. His parents, delighted to have such great potential at their hands, immediately set to developing their "experiment".
Since the age that he was able to speak, Jason was surrounded by magic. Thousands of grimoires, potion books, and family cookbooks were what lined the walls of the magical prodigy's room. A child at the age of three, barely able to talk, much less read, was forced into a vigorous study life. Alongside the book work, his father forced him to practice his hand work at a young age, the muscles in his hands eventually growing used to the continuous use. The boy's mother, however, was not any less guilty. Day after day, the horrid witch bore countless spells, recipes, and more importantly, language into his head. By the age of seven, Jason was capable of speaking at least three languages and was a more adept magic user than most of the children twice his age. It was on his seventh birthday that his powers truly took a turn... For the better or worse? No one was totally sure.
Both his parents were expecting something to happen with their little experiment on its seventh year of life, but what they got was, well, not quite what they expected. At the exact moment of his birth, Jason's magical power increased dramatically, taking on such an intense spike in power that he literally blew them away. And the dog. And the cat. And the rest of the house. It took officials hours to find his parents, thankfully alive, and even longer for his parents to figure out what exactly had happened. With their home destroyed, on child to blame, they did what any scientist would do. Get rid of the failed experiment. Dumping the chaotic child on the steps of a local coven, accompanied with a substantial sum of money and contact info, his parents bail town.
Jason then found himself traded and passed between covens nationally and internationally, never staying for more than a few months. His surname promised him respect, safety, and power; while his actual power earned him fear, admiration, and most importantly, attention. This attention, and substantial amount of request from various covens to take him off their hands, gained Jason a spot at his current high school.

LINETTE
THE SKELETON
coded by Sylvie
[attr="class","scrollergrey"]Skeleton Linette
Great musician, head of the school marching band, total bitch to 95% of campus, absolutely whipped around Lucas Courtwater.
Skeletons are created from the dead given life to rise up as an expendable army for battles.
Skeletons are considered to be so low on the Demon scale that they're acknowledged only as canon fodder and completely expendable/useless.
They are considered Deaths Minions and bring with them the maker himself. Linette
Doesn't have any organs, Considers herself soulless Uses her bones to find perfect pitch and feel sound which allows her to play so well. Hates closets but hides in them or small dark places constantly to escape embarrassment. Is commonly known as a Liar. Is the butt of all jokes regarding "Skeleton in the closet" Does not remember her former life as a human at all
Can play the violin and several other instruments including the piano but no one knows of these other talents.
Before she met Lucas and Jerry Linette was with Noelle who was killed. Linette used to sketch and paint with Noelle, several of their art works are actually displayed around the school but no one pays them any mind. She's impervious to just about everything but: Blunt force trauma, incinerating heat, and beyond the coldness of space freezing.
Has to worry about: Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Broken bones, Bone spurs. Bone Rot is her worst sickness and worry followed by Bone Eaters.
Bone Rot- Takes years to develop like cancer. It is where the bones become speckled with black spots that slowly eat and grow over time like lighting the corner of a piece of paper on fire leaving black extremely brittle bone in its wake that flakes. It's painful and will literally turn the skeleton to ashes once it's finished leaving behind nothing but black dust.
Bone Eaters - Small shiny armor backed beetles of black coloring with the iridescent rainbow of coloring over the shell of it. Quick and curious they seek out bones like ants to sugar swarming over and consuming the bone like a rabbit eating a carrot Leaving next to nothing but crumbs in its wake. Linette is a strong cookie:
You can throw her in a lake to drown and she'll sink like a stone and walk across the bottom without batting a lash. Freezing? You can freeze her till her bones become brittle and only a touch would shatter them.
Linette has Bone Rot, she hides it by painting her bones with white shoe polish and has grown accustomed to the pain that ebbs in and out when it grows. Mostly in the evenings after school.
She currently lives off campus in an over grown private cemetery/garden over run by wild strawberries. Her home is a mausoleum with her name engraved in stone above the door.
Secrets of the Bones: A secret is that you can disable a skeleton by taking just one of it's bones. The Rib of Adam. If you take it she is bound to listen to whoever holds it or if you destroy it you can destroy the skeleton.
The Rib of Adam if it is no longer on the Skeleton renders it immortal capable of resurrecting and healing itself over and over again until the jobs done. Unless the Skeleton has Bone Rot, or a Bone Eater gets it. Rib or not the Skeleton will be destroyed.
Linette's 2 Brothers & Red Skeletons: She believes them to be elder brothers and they act as such in an off key way, but they're not. They're completely unrelated to her. The Brother's both have had Linette's blood on/in them thus giving them the pink hair coloring making you think they're related.
They too are skeletons, but they're Vampire created Skeletons, they're minions. The first brother is actually a minion from Death's army itself.
The second was a victim turned vampire minion whom tried to take more power and bit Linette turning him into a Red Skeleton.
Red Skeleton's are a new sense of immortal, meaning you can strike them down but they'll keep reanimating unless a certain spell or weapon is used on them. Which is not likely given their rarity. Their Adams Rib doesn't count for a Red Skeleton.
Red Skeleton destructive weapons: All of which need to be enchanted are: Daybreakers (spiked end maces), war hammers, and chain flails. Spells are only known/Found in the rarest of rare books and those are typically kept under Lock & Key or hidden away. Connection to Wendigo Lucas Courtwater: Her brothers want to gain/harness/control the power of the wendigo for themselves. Rising up out of the diminutive ranks of minion and superseded death itself.
Their plain for Lucas's wendigo: Linette & Lucas came from the same town and just didn't know it. Her bones, and why she's so attached to him is her former self remembering the past. They say a Wendigo's consumption grows in excess to what it consumes thus its eternally searching for new victims. What if the Wendigo never got to finish it's meal? What if it was forced or stop or flee half way through? You're left with a bunch of corpse, a mass of dead....an army of dead. Raise the dead, you have skeletons. A vampire, following a Wendigo like a hyena and taking its scraps and turning it into a undead legion.
Despite Linette being considered a strong authoritative figure, she's actually very delicate like a china plate. But you'd never guess that because of the vapid front she places up for people.

FALINE
THE UNICORN
coded by Sylvie
[attr="class","scrollergrey"]Unicorn Faline
Back home the Royals have laid claim to the last of the unicorns. They're kept within the house that is surrounded by a yellow wood/golden looking fence. This keeps the Unicorns in and from going anywhere. The unicorns are under magic to look human. It's why they have the scar on their head where the horn is and if you look into their eyes you won't see your reflection, you'll see the forest of Antiquity, their home where they've come from. This shows the unicorn has not given up that they still retain their true self, that the wild is still within them. Those that see a Unicorn in it's true form, the horse, must believe in them to see it. If they don't believe it they'll only see a white mare. The drawback to the human form is that if they cry, if a unicorn can cry true tears of regret they begin to lose the ability to turn back into their original forms. Because of this the Royals have gotten a bit lax in their ways granting just a sliver more freedom. Which is why Fal was able to say she didn't want to be in the hunt. They granted her the wish to go elsewhere while it was happening.
All of this is under the guise or reason of the royals "protecting" them from the outside world. When in reality they're just a coveted prize so great that the lineage have laid claim to them so they don't escape.
It's gotten a little lax as the unicorns have been trapped and kept so long by them they've just accepted it as how it is. The Hunt occurs on special occassions, such as a dead bed or coroinations, possibly even birthdays. But it's only for specific blood, directly related to the kings of old themselves.
The Hunt is where one of the unicorns are chosen to be let out into their forest, the one of Antiquity. This forest is vast and huge but it too has been "fenced in" so it's a hunting ground with no way of truly escaping. The unicorn is set free the day before and is to go and hide for as long as it can to escape the hunters. It's a chase like when they go searching for Red Fox and send out the hounds and are on horse back. This is a very large spectator riddled event.
The hunters can do it by sport or by the old ways which is to seduce them out into the open. This is the most common for large crowds as the spot will be where the crowds can see the unicorn come out, fall asleep and then be killed.
Its more of a tradition than a physical hunt. However, there are those who Do want a unicorn. If they find one has "gone out" of the royals protective hold they can be hunted down without realizing it.
Fal doesn't 100% realize this. She thinks she's still protected so she has no clue if a schoolmate or someone else could show up to figure out and find which one of them is the unicorn and hunt her down. She told Felix because he didn't seem the type of "hunter" you'd expect. Fal being clueless and putting the typical bad guy motif to what she has to watch out for.
It's also able for the Unicorn to fall in love. If a Unicorn falls in love with a human they can lose the ability to change back. However, if a Unicorn cares enough for the one, they can and will sacrifice themselves willingly to the hunt.
Fal is afraid of virgin girls and hunts/hunters
She's an adorable ditz misunderstanding common things as she's been sheltered by the royals and home tutored away from the public
When you look into her eyes you will not see yourself in the reflection of them. You will see her forest where she's from. If you do see yourself in them it means she's losing herself to the human side.
If a unicorn can cry true tears of regret or love they will be unable to change back into their original form.
There has never been a time without unicorns. We live forever! We are as old as the sky, old as the moon! We can be hunted, trapped; we can even be killed if we leave our forests, but we do not vanish. Am I truly the last?

Vesta’s History
During Vesta’s early life, she and her family lived an almost storybook life. On the outskirts of the town the AU the area is set in, Vesta lived in a small cabin in the wilderness with her loving parents. Her father was a skilled but kind hunter, never hunting too much and using everything he could of his and properly disposed of what remained. Her mother, meanwhile, brought in what money the family needed through internet work, using the money to pay the bills (including TV and internet; they were modern, after all) while the husband did most of the cooking. They were a sweet family with Vesta having a normal upbringing, all three loving each other to the point where they could give someone diabetes.
...Until Vesta was 14.
The day where Vesta’s life changed started off normally; her father left early in the morning for one of his hunts, bundled up for the winter air, giving his female companions a kiss each, while her mother sat at the kitchen at the computer. Vesta herself stared at the TV, snacking like a good little girl. When night came, her father came back in, carrying a deer on his shoulders with a smile. His wife and daughter welcomed him home with open arms and big smiles, but in just a second, the sweet moment turned into horror.
Vesta’s father was tackled to the ground, powerful claws ripping into his back and fangs ripping into his neck. Vesta immediately backed away, screaming her head off, unable to move her eyes from the bloody, gory show, clinging to the wall. The tall, hairy werewolf with red snow in its fur made quick work of her father, devouring bits of him. Its gold eyes locked into Vesta’s green as its next target was acquired.
Pinned to the wall, Vesta could do nothing but suffer as her flesh was ripped from her bones mercilessly and devoured. The agony felt eternal, but the attack itself lasted only seconds, as Vesta’s mother managed to impale the creature’s back with a decorative silver sword that she had bought online some time ago. The sword was lethal, though the beast threw its arm back, slamming into Vesta’s mother’s side and throwing her against the wall, killing her on impact before it fell to the ground dead.
Vesta, eyes dulling as the life tried to leave her body, stared at her father as he weakly looked up at her, bleeding from his mouth and several pieces of his body missing, before he went completely limp. Vesta’s world went black.
Two weeks later, Vesta woke up in what she later found out to be a school infirmary with no injuries whatsoever. There she was told of what happened by an official of an organization that handled situations caused by mythical creatures gone awry while a nurse and the school’s principal listened in. They allowed her to process this information as the memories started coming back to her (which went as well as you might imagine). It wasn’t until she saw herself in the mirror, seeing the new gold color of her eyes, that she began to act colder.
The next week was telling Vesta about her new world as a mythical beast, giving her a place in the school... and preparing her for the full moon that was quickly approaching. After her first night as a werewolf, Vesta began to look for a new home, however, a short old woman by the name of Miss Wu approached her instead, expressing sympathies to her situation and giving her – rather than offer, as the woman wouldn’t let Vesta say no – a place to stay.
Vesta, though she was becoming more and more cold and calloused, was genuinely thankful for the help and support she was getting, and quickly developed a habit of addressing people as “sir” or “ma’am”, as well as referring to them by their last names with “Mr.” or “Miss” out of respect.
Her Lycanthropy
There are many different species of werewolves, though Vesta’s particular species is a bit rarer. Despite being comparatively rare, however, it is still a well-researched variation. Like all forms of lycanthropy, there is no known cure or treatment, though there are many old wives tales and home remedies that claim to have positive effects. The only known sure way to way to remove lycanthropy is death.
Though there is a rumor otherwise, the transition from human (or whatever species susceptible to lycanthropy) to werewolf is actually not painful, the injuries from the initial attack notwithstanding. In fact, lycanthropes, as they recover, tend to express extremely rapid healing that that don’t express anywhere else in their lifetimes. Depending on variables such as the severity of the attack, the health of the victim, as well as age and body type, recovering from an attack can go from anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. This is believed to occur to prevent the victim from dying and allowing the curse to take place, as in all cases, a bite occurs, which is the werewolf’s only means of propagation aside from more conventional reproduction.
The effects on the victim are wide and varied, as this particular species of werewolf almost completely reconstitutes the victim’s genetic makeup. For Vesta, this means some more basic things, such as enhanced strength, speed, agility, and durability, rivaling top athletes, despite the fact that the werewolf blood is at its weakest. More animalistic traits come into play as well, such as enhanced senses and the ability to digest raw meat. However, another effect is... rather comedic; during a female’s time of the month, they release pheromones in attempts to attract males to mate, making the description “a bitch in heat” quite accurate for Vesta during her “shark week”. Quite understandably, werewolves of this variation do not tend to get male dogs as pets. Additionally, a werewolf’s strong senses can prove to be a double-edged sword; with her training, Vesta can pick through large amounts of scents and sounds to pay attention to the ones she wants to, her senses also items like stink bombs and even dog whistles especially bothersome.
Vesta’s species of werewolf have the strange ability to half-transform at will, though this ability does not manifest until 2-4 years after they turn into werewolves. Typically this form provides increases physical capabilities to the point where Vesta can body slam an average tree to the ground with some effort or scale walls by using her claws, as well as similar physical feats. However, a downside is that Vesta loses the ability to digest most foods, in this form limited mostly to meat and small amounts of fruits, vegetables, dairy, or similarly natural products. While Vesta is able to go into this form at will, she may also go into it unintentionally due to hormonal imbalances, usually from sexual arousal or extreme anger, and usually cannot change back until those feelings pass in whatever way.
Vesta is at her strongest during the full moon when she is fully transformed. However, this is where she is at her most bestial as well; no trace of the girl called Vesta exists in the mind of the wolf during the full moon, leaving only a feral monster with little desire beyond hunting and feeding, capable of bending and ripping steel with little effort, chasing down cars at highway speeds and jumping over several-story-high buildings. The process of during into a wolf is extremely painful as her entire bodily structure changes, and changing back is just as painful.
Like most werewolves, Vesta is very, very weak to silver; however, it is only lethal if it enters her body. If she merely touches silver, her strength is sapped extremely quickly, with long enough exposure eventually rendering her comatose. If the silver gets into her body, even in the form of a blade or bullet, it acts like a poison in addition to the damage the silver weapon did until said weapon is removed, though at the same time the silver does weaken a werewolf’s somewhat higher healing abilities. The effects of silver need only a few seconds to begin, however, if Vesta touches silver for a second or less, no ill effects occur. Interesting enough, Vesta’s species of werewolf seems to have developed an evolutionary counter towards its weakness to silver by gaining the ability to sense the presence of it. However, this only works within a foot of her person, leaving it a small help at best.
Other
Derogatory terms towards werewolves tend to be simple, due to the nature of their curse. Words commonly used include “beast,” “animal” and “monster,” however, there are some more meaningful names, including “Moonie,” referencing a werewolf’s subservience to the moon, “Grayskin,” which actually originally referred to the species of werewolf that transformed by shedding its human skin and transformed back by putting it on again and the fact that most werewolves have gray fur, but has since become an insult to all sorts of werewolves, and “Yiffer”, an insult to Vesta’s specific species of werewolf, who tend to be forced to mate half-transformed, as mentioned above.

WENDIGO
Lucas Courtwater - known musician, expert first period office assistant, straight-A student and a frequent feature in the school drama productions, despite a very reserved, unobtrusive nature. He entered the academy alongside best friend and roommate Jeremiah Burton early freshman year. Having opted to take running start courses at the local community college, he is usually on campus only half the day, and mostly for musical and other non-core classes. He is generally aware of a lot of behind-the-scenes goings-on at the school due to his position in the office and a close working relationship with a few administrators. When not in class the most likely places to find him are the office, music room, or strolling around the vast campus' more isolated and scenic areas. Lucas and Jeremiah live in a reasonably sized manor house off-campus.
He is always cold, wearing coats and jackets even as summer approaches, and is rarely seen eating. He's very gaunt and pale, often appearing as though ill. There is a constant chill surrounding him. Periodically throughout the school year he's been known to be absent for days on end without warning.
EARLY HISTORY
Lucas is the only child of business moguls Oliver and Regina Courtwater, but was raised in the rather simple environs of the lakeside town of Northshore, located a few hours away from the town in which the AU takes place. He was born human, with no particular awareness of supernatural phenomena until a chance meeting with Jeremiah, an apparent orphan and shapeshifter, during a stay in the Courtwaters' city home while accompanying Regina there on business. Regina, aware of the existence of such creatures, would be revealed to have no issue with essentially adopting Jeremiah, and the pair were raised as brothers.
THE NORTHSHORE MASSACRE
It was the top breaking new story throughout the country three years ago. The small, affluent waterfront community ravaged during the night and left in near-ruins, with over forty confirmed dead, and a dozen more missing, presumed to be deceased.
It was the act of the wendigo, just out of hibernation and manipulated by two skeleton minions to completely possess one of the town residents and go on a killing spree so the pair could use the victims to bolster their growing army of undead. The beast soon found its way to a trio of teenagers, thrown together in their race to escape, as they ran through the woods toward safety: Lucas, Jeremiah, and Linette, a girl from town the pair had not met previously. The events that then occurred left Linette dead, Jeremiah wounded, and Lucas killed and subsequently transformed into the very monster that slaughtered his friends and neighbors.
However, none of this, or even that they are from Northshore, is known to anyone at the school, amnesiac Linette included, except for a few high-ranking administrators.
THE WENDIGO
These creatures are extremely rare and don't venture far out of colder climates, and thankfully so due to their destructive power. They are beasts with origins not of the natural world, strongly associated with winter, greed, gluttony, famine, starvation, cannibalism, and death. Both spectral and corporeal and possessing great spiritual power, they are believed by some to be completely indestructible. Notably, there are two varieties of wendigo: those that were once human but were turned, either by a curse or by being bitten and surviving an attack; and those that were never human, or were human but were possessed by a true wendigo, basically becoming a replacement body for the ancient beast. The latter are much more powerful, and there is in fact only one of them, though previously-human wendigo of great age are also very strong.
♦ A wendigo's hunger grows in proportion to what it eats; it is literally always starving, never full. The only thing it desires is human flesh. ♦ Due to the nature of how one becomes a wendigo (partaking in cannibalism, being cursed and having one's soul corrupted or destroyed, offering oneself to the beast, or possession) it's nearly unprecedented to encounter one that is not malevolent. ♦ They possess supernatural strength, speed, agility, and senses, and are keen hunters and trackers, sadistic in the way they play with their prey before attacking. In their spectral form their speed is so great it is akin to teleportation. They can stalk a victim across continents with ease, and once a person is targeted, nothing will stop a wendigo from pursuing them to their death. ♦ Other notable abilities include near-invulnerability, shapeshifting and mimicry, a deafening voice, the power to induce fear and paranoia, and a control over ice and snow. ♦ Their primary weakness is a weapon composed of silver; the substance itself will do nothing unless introduced into the body. The process believed to be necessary to permanently kill a wendigo involves much more complicated means, however. ♦ While Lucas has a completely human, if sickly, appearance most of the time, on rare and usually scarcely-witnessed occasions the illusion may slip. It's seen only briefly, maybe between the flickering of lights or for a split second when viewed in one's peripheral vision. The side of his face along the jaw suddenly evaporating away like smoke being blown off, the mirage lifting just long enough to expose an inhuman row of long thin fangs splitting out of his mouth. Reference. ♦ The true appearance of a wendigo is abhorrent, corpse-like, with frost-bitten blue skin, black eyes, an emaciated but muscled figure, rows of needle-shape teeth, and fingers that end in jutting-out bones sharpened into talons.
Vampires are one of the oldest fairy tales in the book. They're described as human like monsters with pale skin, fangs, and a craving for blood. Able to turn into a bat at any given time. However, as the centuries passed, the vampires have grown and adapted to world as it grew. In this modern day, the vampires have changed and evolved to fit in with the well... the best they can, anyway.
Zane Skyes, a junior at the AU Highschool, is a half vampire. There's a few things that separate him from full blooded vampires.
For one, his appearance is the same as it would have been if he wasn't a vampire. His skin isn't pale and is normal colored. His eyes are the normal dark brown, for the most part. If his eyes turn red then there's two things you should note. 1. He's pissed. 2. He's not himself. If his eyes ever turn red then one should run, fast. If you actually manage to piss off Zane then you better be prepared to run. However, if it's case 2 then you should run even faster. The other reason his eyes would turn red is because he has not had human blood in about two weeks. He hates to admit it, but if he doesn't have one cup of human blood in 2 weeks he could easily go on a rampage until he's satisfied. However, he's managed to control himself for longer. But 3 weeks is his max, otherwise he will start to act odd. He'll be jumpy, nervous and extremely hyper until he can't control his lust anymore. This has not happened in the school before, because they supply human blood for the vampires. But every now and then one vampire loses control.
Another thing that should be noted is his fangs are somewhat noticeable. And they are actually retractable. However, Zane prefers to keep them shown. They barely show when his mouth is closed, you can only see probably about an inch of them. His fangs are almost full grown, coming in at three inches long. They usually appear on a vampire somewhere around age 10 to 13. And they are quite painful when they come in. The change happens within a span of 1 hour. They come in rapidly and quite painful. When Zane experienced it he locked himself in his room and endured the pain until it was over. For others, it can drive a vampire into a blood lust rampage. When they first come in is when the hunger for blood is the strongest. Thankfully when Zane had them come in his parents were ready with a cup of blood for him.
As for a vampire's weaknesses, Zane only has a few. Since he is half vampire, some things don't effect him. Take a stake for example. If someone ran at him with a stake he would most likely laugh at them and then set it on fire with a lighter. The sunlight is not fatal, but Zane is weaker than he usually is during the day. He wouldn't be up to his full strength and if left in the sunlight for too long he could possibly collapse. This hasn't happened recently, although if it does start to happen Zane will usually endure it until he can head back to his room. Some people believe that fire will kill a vampire, as for Zane it won't. However, he would greatly prefer it if you didn't try to set him on fire. He would gag at the smell or taste of unions, but it is not deadly to him. Just make sure he doesn't eat it, that would cause him to become greatly ill and quite possibly fatal. Holy symbols don't do anything to him, and silver stings him and could leave a mark. Running water makes Zane laugh. Don't do it, it isn't funny anymore.
Zane is not able to turn into a bat, and quite frankly he's happy about that. He is at his full power at night though. His senses are enhanced and so is his movement. He could smell blood from about 10 miles away and have increased running speed. He can also be sneaky and able to make his way around without anyone noticing him.
The vampires that are at the school live off of animal blood for the most part. If they go without human blood though it could end badly for everyone in the school. As for Zane, he prefers the animal blood and dislikes the bitter taste of certain human blood. However, if he doesn't drink it at least once per 3 weeks then hell could break lose. And Zane isn't sure if he would be able to actually stop himself if it happened.

THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED ME ANYWAY
LET IT GO LET IT GO
CAN'T HOLD IT BACK ANYMORE
Dragon's are one of the world's most powerful creatures. There's dragons of many kinds, most of them yield a elemental power. Fire. Water. Earth. Air. Electric. Ice. Light. Dark. There could be more, possibly more species that are unknown. However, these eight are the most common of dragons. However, the Light and Dark species seem to be dying out. They are the ying and yang, keeping the order of justice and chaos throughout the world. The main four, Fire, Water, Earth and Air, keep the world going around. They retain the four main elements and keep them in control. The Electric and Ice species are relatively newly discovered species, being brought into the light around the 1900s. For centuries, the world thought there were only six species. However, a surge of thunderstorm occurrences and snowstorms made the dragons begin searching for the source. That is when they discovered the Electric and Ice species. They manage to keep these species in check, as they are the most reckless.
Amber's species, the Ice Dragons, are one of the most interesting species of dragons. They are reckless and out going. Being used to their open home of the polar ice caps, they aren't used to having to be restricted. They're mischievous and playful dragons, and quite curious. They are also one of the oldest species in existence, making them one of the wisest as well. Though, sometimes they just don't show it.
Every dragon has now learned how to shift between human and dragon forms, sometimes they can even keep some dragonic traits while in human form. The traits can range from eye color to fangs to wings. It all depends on how far the dragon has come with it's magic. However, their powers are weakened to an extent when in human form. They are still strong, there's no mistake about that. But don't anger a dragon enough to where they swap forms. Dragons are at the top of the food chain and there are few who can stand up alone to one. The only way they could defeat one is if they forced it to stay in their human form.
When the dragons change forms, they can only change into one human. They can't change their appearance once they learned how to switch. They can keep their eye or scale color, which would turn to hair, but most prefer to blend in with their surroundings and fellow students. There aren't many dragons, let alone elemental ones, in the school. It can be difficult to tell if someone is a dragon or not because they generally keep themselves well hidden. However, some may choose to show off their power, putting them at risk of being attacked or challenged. And dragons never back down from their challenges.
Each elemental dragon has control over their natural element. Some others are users of magic as well. It's extremely rare, even with cross reproduction, that a dragon can control two elements rather than one. However, if there was such a dragon, they would have an extremely hard time controlling their elements. It could possibly take them 1,000 years to 1,500 years to master both elements. Compared to the normal 500 years to 1,000.
The reproduction of elemental dragons are simple. It differs from species to species. For the Ice species, they mate in their dragon form. Once the eggs are laid they must be kept at -40 degrees or lower at all times. If it becomes too warm for the egg, the hatchling inside will die early. The reproduction of Light and Dark dragons are unknown. The light dragon's live above the clouds with the Air dragons. However, even the Air dragons don't know much about their neighbors. The Dark dragons are even more secretive. No one is quite sure where these dragons live.
The weaknesses of each dragon is different and can depend on the individual itself. However, there are basic weaknesses for each species.
Fire: Weak to the Water and Air dragons. Neutral with the Earth and Electric. Strong against the Ice dragons. Water: Weak to the Electric and Ice dragons. Neutral with the Air dragons. Strong against the Fire and Earth dragons. Earth: Weak to Water and Ice dragons. Neutral with Fire. Strong against Electric and Air dragons. Air: Weak to Ice and Earth dragons. Neutral with Water, Ice and Electric dragons. Strong against Fire dragons. Electric: Weak to Earth dragons. Neutral with Fire, Air and Ice dragons. Strong against Earth and Electric dragons. Ice: Weak to Fire dragons. Neutral with Earth, Air and Electric. Strong against Earth and Water. Light: Unknown. Dark: Unknown.
No one is sure what the weaknesses of Light and Dark dragons are. They are too secretive about their life style for anyone to gather data.

BRANDY "PEACHES"
THE HARPY
coded by Sylvie
[attr="class","scrollergrey"]Brandy Peaches the Harpy
Harpy's are female monsters with the bodies of a bird and the face of a human. They share the familial existence with Sirens, Sphinx and Centaurs.
Their appearance varies as a contradiction of rumors ranging from "lovely-haired" creatures, beautiful women with wings or ugly winged bird-women. The details getting more gruesome and grotesque depending on who you speak with. This is because they share the same family line with Sirens, beautiful creatures who's existence is to ensnare men and beast alike and lure them to their deaths. Harpy's have two sides the beautiful one, which captures the eyes and ears and thoughts of men and the monster which exists for torment, punish, capture and steal the souls.
Their name means "snatchers"
Harpy's have bit of a bad ass reputation because they are mostly used for punishment purposes by gods, kings, Hero's and warriors.
They steal food from their victims while they are eating giving them hope before snatching it away and are strong enough to carry evildoers (especially those who have killed their family) to the Erinyes (Furies).
Sometimes they are used as guardians. They seem originally to have been wind spirits but their mischievous natures have since been warped by their duties into vicious man-eaters in peacock clothing.
Likes to perch up on things for the view and to watch people.
Has an aloof nature that seems segregated from the rest of the student body. Her own clique of trouble makers that troll and torment. the rest of the populous.
Has a Nail polish fetish.
Unrequited love is common, love em and leave em is the theme. The Harpy sometimes taking what she wants from the male or female without consent or taking advantage of drunkenness .
Loves eating raw peaches
Is part of a Coven Flock of Mothers, grandmothers, Aunts and Sisters but because of her father she's been ostracized from them.
Has an adoptive little sister Woo Woo who's a white Naga she takes care of.
Siren traits Alluring looks in human form but no where near as enrapturing as their distant cousins who lure and pull sailors to their deaths.
Their voices are fickle things, ranging from nails on chalkboard screeching to seductive allure. A gentle beckoning closer into the dark before their claws sink in and tear you apart. Or in Peaches case, if she's in her true form, your soul.
Each Harpy Coven has their own 'Song' or sometimes none at all. The song is representative of their jobs or Masters position. Peaches is of the Dozakh ? Coven. Dozakh - A place of torment one believes they are in when separated from their lover;hell.
While they may not be as bluntly attractive as their Siren counterpart they do have a trade of hypnotic entertaining skills to lure with. Though it doesn't work on everyone it does prove to be a great distraction tactic.
Sphinx traits The body of the Sphinx and that of the Harpy are similar as they are the winged beasts and they share their treacherous and merciless fighting skills with claws. Though Harpy's have the advantage of flight.
Wit plays a hidden role with the Harpy but is shared with the Sphinx and used to the torment of others. Those who cannot answer the riddles of the Sphinx suffer a fate of either being killed and eaten. The Harpy tends to waver on the outcome of death. Sometimes the threat of life's end is just enough to get the point across and the Curse of the Harpy's Riddle is like a school joke gone horribly wrong and deadly.
If Peaches ever tells you a Riddle be warned. She has not taken kindly to you and revenge is near.
Centaur traits
The Harpy's untamed Nature and Battle prowess to learn and change tactics comes from the Centaurs. They are also second to the Centaur's when it comes to teaching.
While Peaches seems the type to be the stupid girl with a bad attitude and a smart mouth she's actually quiet smart and does well in her classes at least ranking within the top 10.
HARPY
Claws are capable of stealing the soul away.
Voice can leave an echo ringing in your ears or head.
Bite can tear through flesh and bone.
Can carry the weight of a human in flight with ease.
Preens feathers that hold an iridescent shimmer to them.
[attr="class","scrollergrey"]Fenella Oceanus is one of 50 daughters born into the Oceanus family. She and her sisters making up the 3200th generation.
Nereids are Sea Nymphs or female spirits of sea water who are friendly and helpful to sailors trying to navigate storms.
She is a bit opinionated, but her words aren't intended to be mean. She's just using her sheltered upbringing that doesn't exactly apply to the School or modern world.
She has a very sweet voice on her but nowhere near as pretty as some of her other sisters. She is not a Siren.
Has an extreme dislike for Sea witches, shady shops and contracts. She knows all about the Little Mermaids mistakes.
She goes back home to the sea every other weekend depending on if parents or sisters call.
Fenella is also trying to experience human food and all it's grandeur since she was raised on mostly raw seafood and plant matter. She has an absolute passion for corn flaky cereals.
Family
She comes from a very huge family where she is just one of the 50 siblings.
She has a total of 7 mothers, 1 birth mother 1 true Father
The family is enormous, especially if you include the extended family.
Their jobs and line of work are mostly based in the Search and Rescue/Coastguard on the open seas. Dealing with storms, shipwrecks, lost lost at sea.
There's a few who part take in Medical training, mostly night shift nurses or doctors,
Her 22nd Aunt and her husband are in the pearl cultivation and jewelry business.
There's a grandfather who sells yachts. A few marine biologists. And her 3rd sister is trying to take over her Great Aunts cruise ship line legacy.
There's a few chefs, painters, musicians, and song artists sprinkled about too but most of them take on jobs that keep them near the sea or close to it.
The family is disgustingly wealthy and if you pair that with their siren like looks they all are beautiful and fit creatures who have storm stories and rescues to tell of during dinner or at parties making them interesting.
It pains them if they fail and the losses weigh heavily on the person and family.
Traditions & Legal Documents
After the Titanic disaster that devastated so many lives the Oceanus family created the O.C.A. Oceanus Compensation Act . A legal documentation that extends out to anyone who experiences loss on the sea's. Though money cannot bring back a loved one they do their best to make sure the survivors will be all right. This includes even offering the ability to marry into the family.
This is both good and bad because there are some who can't seem to get over the loss and prefer the eye for an eye approach.
A large pink pearl hairpin is given when the family feels the daughter is old enough and responsible to experience the world more. The hairpin allowing her a little more freedom to do as she pleases within family rules/law. She receives this on the first and only birthday party she will ever have. A daughters coming of age is a very important and auspicious occasion.
The family is very strict on the laws of the Sea and family. Those that disobey are cast out or punished for it.
Faults (this part may be edited)
The Sun can kill her if she is directly in it, or in it for too long.
The death of a Nereid results in them becoming sea foam on the waves.
Because of this set back she begrudgingly attends evening, and cloudy, rainy day classes. She loves sunny days though, only when she's under the water.Sometimes she has to attend class on sunny days. When that happens she's covered up and carries an umbrella open over her head.
Relationships?
Possibly have her engaged to a water myth or fish called Macklemore and he's a Popstar and she's just....totally turned off by him or maybe she just isn't giving him the chance to show her how he really is. Another is to be secretly seeing someone who has a Fire affinity or something. Their love is secret/forbidden, a true Romeo and Juliette Sea Prince & the Fire Child (but reversed) with their parents having set the rules and not allowing it. They manage to sneak fluff moments while at school.

Cinnamon Birds
Cinnamon Birds are a old, and now rare, species of birds. They originated from Arabia but have been seen in other parts of the world in the past 100 years. The old myth was that the Cinnamon Birds built their nest out of cinnamon. They gathered up cinnamon sticks from an unknown place and built their nests. However, the myth has now evolved into a more accurate representation of the birds. While they still do build their nests out of cinnamon sticks, they've evolved over the past few 100 years or so to where their feathers actually create cinnamon. Because of this, Cinnamon Birds have been hunted and sought out for over the years. The Cinnamon Bird's cinnamon is considered the best in the world. They are mostly hunted down and captured to be sold or used for their captor's personal use.
Because there's only so many left in the world, the remaining few have taken on human personas. They don't really have a choice in what their human forms look like. Most of the time, their human forms have some characteristic that are similar to their true bird forms. For an example, Ace's hair resemble his bird form's feather color. Their true, natural bird forms tend to be small birds. The feathers around their faces tend to be slightly darker or lighter than the rest of their feathers. Their wing feathers are a light brown color as well. Most Cinnamon Birds are small and harmless, for the most part. They can control the cinnamon within their feathers. In their human form, it's less noticeable but it's still there within their hair. They also tend to have a subtle smell of cinnamon while they're in human form.
There are rare, close to extinct, cinnamon birds that have a much larger form. They have a look similar to a phoenix and have rather long tail feathers. These Cinnamon Birds are extremely rare and are barely found in the wild. They are usually always in their human form and live within society. They hide behind perfume or cologne to hide their cinnamon scent from others, as their cinnamon has a stronger smell than regular cinnamon birds.
Ace's History
WIP
> Born to two Cinnamon Bird parents > They were strict with him and kept him under a tight leash to avoid him being captured or hunted down > He almost got caught when he was about 5 years old by a child > Has almost gotten eaten by a cat 3 times in his life > Moved closer to the school during middle school > Has been under the protection of the school since > Parents live as humans in the town near the school > Prefers to be a human, it's more fun and free than being a bird > Tries to avoid switching to bird form outside of the school grounds but slips every now and then
What I have set up (and probably all that's gonna be known) about Daxton's Black Dragon species
Daxton is a violent, yet somehow passive-aggressive dragon/person. He doesn't seem to have taken a liking to anyone except Vesta, Ace, Sera and Prisca
He's also known to occasionally crush on Prisca. He's a man who loves all things scaly. He asked Prisca out and was shot down. No more of that.
Backstory: Daxton doesn't even remember that much about his own childhood, the only thing he remembers is some pretty negative stuff. Depression warning! Daxton's father that he grew up knowing wasn't his real father, not even his mother remembers who his dad was. He even has reason to believe that his mother isn't even his real mother. But when he was three, he suddenly sprouted wings, breaking through the walls of the family home and scaring both of his parents senseless. They immediately chased him out of the house, trying to catch him, only for him to sneeze on the neighbor's home and burn it down. After catching him, they took him to a priest, who wasted no time in sealing his powers away. It wasn't until he was 8 or 11, he met a butcher, who with no warning it seemed like, turned him around and broke the seal. Invoked with rage, he turned his "hometown" to ashes and molten buildings. Fleeing with the butcher, it wasn't even 2 years later that the police killed the butcher and Daxton went on another rampage, therefore getting him sent to the supernatural high school
"Thur 're plenty o fish in the sea but thur kin cnlay be one fer meh." -Eden
Very little is known about the Undine/Ondine. They have minute powers and are the more basic of water spirits. They live a simple life who's existence are few and far between but are closely related to the Nereids, Sylphs and remind you of the Selkies.
They are the embodiment of Love and Romance with a lore that goes much like the tale of the Little mermaid.
Ondine's Lore The Ondine are a water nymph who becomes human when she falls in love with a man but are doomed to die if he is unfaithful to her.
This becomes a bit of a bitch when her soul survival is dependent upon whom she falls in love with. Not who falls in love with her. Trial and Error are not something to be taken lightly with the Undine.
Don't ever tell Eden to let her heart decide because for her that's a sure fire way to end up dead. Foolish hearts don't get second chances with the Ondine.
Ondine women out of the water can live for 7 years without love. All Ondine women have a father/husband of the water and he is able to come and take her back with him.Inspiration trailer
Ondine's Curse The short story There actually is a medical disorder, a genetic form of sleep apnea, that is named 'The Curse of Ondine' or simply 'Ondine's Curse. It is a devastating illness that, untreated, can cause rapid aging. Fortunately,it is very rare.
Currently Eden Many have seen our southern belle in action. Utterly devoted to the sunshine of a blond called Kenta and doing all she can to answer to his beck and call. (Despite him not wanting it at all) Even he can tell you that Eden isn't bad. She's just...overwhelming.
One may think that these two are destined but it's a completely one sided love where Kenta wants nothing to do with her no matter what she does.
Obviously this spells doom for our sweet southern comfort, for as much devotion she pours on him you'd think he was her true love and it was only a matter of time before her end was near. Not true.
Eden only pretends to love. She goes through the motions of it in her most sincere ways but she's made a promise to herself to lock her heart up and throw away the key.
They say a life without love is not worth living or not a life at all. Eden says life's a liar.
Let me love you.....Let me love you....Free of all rituals nothing habitual ...something you can sink your teeth into....My love for you.
Eden's Past Eden takes little pride in her Undine powers and sees it more as a curse on the family.
What was thought to be a destined place amongst the Cherubs and working along side Cupid quickly turned south when her ancestors simply weren't able to make the ultimate pairing thus dooming them for the water skipper lifestyle. A fine kettle of fish fer that one and despite it happening 400 years ago Eden still carries a grudge about it. She coulda had wings 'n a bow n lil heart shaped arrows! But nooo can't have that.
Nanook Temnota Sex: Male Sexual Orientation: Female. He like the ladies. Age: 20 Weight: 200 lbs Height: 7’4 Ability: Werebear Werebear Description: About 20 feet and heavily built. He has a oddly thick jaw and a scar on his left shoulder, his fur his heavy and brown, with flecks of white in his face and a white chest. Disposition: Laid-back, cheerful, easily put down but quick to anger. Nanook is easily calmed but also easily angered by some things that just set him off. His pet peeves are contrived of hypocrites and people playing the name game. He likes to relax but is very involved in music and basketball. He loves to paint as well, and always draws in his sketchbook. It’s not too hard for him to make friends, and it isn’t too hard to hurt his feelings either. He’s prone to shocked expressions and occasional crying because someone was being mean to him. Nickname: None yet. Faceclaim: Bertholdt Hoover (Attack on Titan)
History Nanook came from Alaska where he spent a lot of time with his favorite Polar Bear cub, Katchuka. He was the only child and loved to be surrounded by bears. Of course, his father always kept a watchful eye on him, even though his mother herself was a gorgeous, white werebear. He came to the school though when he and his parents decided that it would be best for the little werebear to learn how to control his abilities better. Following the spiritual path laid out in front of him by his bear guide (Who is believed to be Katchuka) he went to the school and has been there since he was 12.
