waiting for Yumi
304
Today was going to be a very interesting day—because Kouji had decided to go on a Safari Hunt; the first time in a long time… and he wasn’t going alone, he was going with a companion! In fact, he was meeting up with one of the people who let him dip into her own stocks in order to be able to breed some other ‘mons that his own benefactor didn’t have—or wanted to acquire; but under special conditions. He then flipped through his phone in the meantime as he waited outside for Yumi, the redhead that was going to meet up with him for the Hunt he was going on. The Zone that they were going to be going to today was also one that she needed to visit, because his companion was apparently on the hunt for something that had been eluding her for some time—and he knew that his benefactor had one, but the ‘mon in question was unable to breed.
“Wonder where she is…” he muttered to himself—he had already pocketed the Safari Ball, and was waiting just inside the checkpoint, before the gate that led out into the huge and vast Safari Zone that lay beyond the gate’s boundaries. Who knows, I might get lucky and manage to find something that my benefactor would like… but then again… I might end up liking the damned thing as well… he thought to himself, flexing his fingers into a fist while waiting for her to arrive. He didn’t know (rather, he was completely unaware) that she was actually hosting a tournament in his benefactor’s home region, and that she was also a very busy individual as well—considering the fact that he’d seen the contents of his companion’s PC and had a collection that could rival his benefactor’s!

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Aw god we're late!"
Rushing through route towards the local Safari zone, Yumi was trying her best to make her meeting on time. She was supposed to be having a run at the safari with someone as a little "get to know you" sort of deal. They'd had passing chats before, but only through email, and it was mainly involving the actual business of lending her pokemon to them, With her Charizard running up behind her, using his wings to make himself lighter and give his run a little bit more speed, she rushed inside of the Safari zone reception, gasping a little and slamming down one of her Safari tags for the month down on the table.
"N-need...zone...." She gasped for a second to take a breath, not realizing just how long she'd been running for until now. In hindsight, it would probably have been better to ride Charizard the whole way here. "Zone 5..." "Er...of course ma'am." Stamping her tag and wrapping it around her wrist like a litle signal of her being allowed to be there, the receptionist sent Yumi on her way to zone 5, quickly spotting someone waiting for her at the checkpoint, and runing over with Enzo following behind, standing tall and crossing his arms over his chest, giving a huge grin to the trainer he'd met a while ago, having fond memories of the milotic.
"Hey, you're Kouji right? It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person."

Kouji had continued to idle around the area; but his attention was suddenly diverted by the sudden uproar that had shattered the silence of the waiting area in the Safari Zone—and he had to hold back a chuckle as he saw a redhead making a mad dash towards where he was waiting, fresh as a daisy—and there was a familiar-looking face with her. “Yep, that’s me,” he began with a sheepish grin on his face, before smirking in the Charizard’s direction. “Hello Enzo, nice to meet you again. Let me just say it was not my fault entirely, the Milotic’s to blame,” he added with an embarrassed grin on his face as he then opened the gate, letting his companion go through first so that they could get searching in Zone Number Five. This zone was one he never really noticed until now; because most of his sauntering tips were to the more “natural” areas, like the Watering Hole; or in some cases the Grasslands.
“So what is it you’re looking for in this area?” he asked presently, walking out into the sunshine and then making headway into Zone Five; a place where more unusual ‘mons made it their home. “I’m just here to examine the wildlife…” he continued, reaching down for a camera bag he’d somehow managed to keep hidden until now, before quickly assembling his rig while they were on the move. He then remembered to install the particular piece that had the “No Flash” function—because he’d seen and knew that the sudden flashing, popping noise tended to scare off most Pokémon that approached him out of curiosity whenever he started snapping photos in the wild. Once his camera was assembled, he then hung the strap around his neck, before tucking the bag behind his back so that it wasn’t in the way.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi had nearly forgotten for a moment that Enzo would have actually met the breeder she'd lent him to. It sounded stupid now that she thought about it, sure, but more often than not her pokemon never met her usual breeder, miss Pafe. The blue haired part time breeder never did any of the work herself, so typically the pokemon she sent to the ranch dealth with a sableye wearing a monocle. "Do I even wanna know what happened with that Milotic?" Enzo let out a puff of fire from his nostrils, his own little way of giving a chuckle, shortly followed by a slow shake of his head, following behind Yumi as they walked behind Kouji, moving deeper into the zone in search of the pokemon they were each looking for.
"What am I looking for? Oh er...I don't think anything specific comes to mind really." Truth was Yumi tended to wing her safari trips. Anything specific she wanted she used to request from that same blue haired breeder as part of their arrangement. Whenever she hit the safari she tended to bring something to train as her focus, and just caught whatever came her way. "I think drillbur can be found here though...I'm not too sure. I just know that there is this one gym leader in Orre who has the most annoying excadrill, and of course that means I have to train one too.~" She gave a little giggle, finding herself a little amusing. It surprised her sometimes that most of her choices to train pokemon came from the times that same pokemon had wrecked her in a battle. Following behind Kouji still, she looked curiously over his shoulder, watching as he assembled the camera.
"Hey, ya know, you might wanna get a pokemon out before you focus on your camera there. I mean thats why I got Enzo out, you can never be too prepared...in fact." Yumi slowed just a little to focus on her belt of pokeballs, her hands running along the small spheres until she found the one she was looking for, picking up the pace and catching up with Kouji as a abra emerged from the pokeball she had chosen. "Might as well get Tranz out too, kinda looking to train the little guy while I'm here."
Enzo let out a sigh as he followed behind. He had kinda been hoping to battle something himself today, but hey, at least he was there if anything too big came their way.

rotom is feisty...

He’d heard her words and was about to get one of his team mates out—when he thought he heard a buzzing noise. “Shoot, already?” he said, his demeanor quickly changing, hands closing around a particular containment capsule and sending out its occupant—and the flash of red light revealed his Slugma, Liekki, who then began steaming; because for some reason she was pretty agitated. “Meet my Slugma…” he trailed off, about to introduce her; and the buzzing noise picked up in intensity! “Shoot—what the hell…” he trailed off, letting his bulky rig drop down and rest against his body, before starting to feel the hairs on his nape stand up on end. Ah crap, not the… wait, it’s not that same feeling, but my… he thought to himself, before raising his hands and then feeling that his normally mussed-up hair was starting to stand on end! “Great, someone’s generating static electricity…” he said, quickly looking around, trying to pinpoint the source of the disturbance; before seeing something zipping past him!
“We’re definitely not alone,” he muttered, grabbing another Pokeball—before sending out his Dusknoir for additional back-up! As he watched Alex materialize from his own containment unit, he then started muttering to the Ghost-type, “Stay alert—it’s got to be around here… somewhere,” he said, grabbing his camera and then raising it—but apparently, the Rotom had other plans, and had apparently taken possession of his camera without his realizing it… until his Dusknoir began prodding his camera… quite aggressively. “Hey. HEY, Alex, can it, what’s the matter with you…” he trailed off, quite annoyed at how… peckish his Dusknoir was acting, but the spectral ‘mon refused to stop messing around with his camera; because what his mundane eyes had missed, the spectral was quick to follow! The two then began to get into a wrestling match for the camera hanging around his neck; but it wasn’t until a few moments later that the Ghost-type had stuck its own hand into the internal workings and then managing to “flick” its fingers within; and he felt a cold sensation brush against his skin—and the staticky feeling was back!
“Rotom! Rotom, rotooooo,” he heard the camera squeal for a few moments, before something that looked like it belonged elsewhere made its appearance, waving its ghostly, electric-like appendages! “Crap. What the hell?” he hissed, taking a few steps backward, his Dusknoir circling the area—before the Slugma looked up and then caught sight of the half-ghost, half-plasma Pokémon that was buzzing around them! “Alex, keep guard around the perimeter… and… wait a second, what the hell…?” he trailed off, watching the Slugma quickly slither forward and then began charging up an Ancient Power attack without him telling her to do anything. “Whoa… well, whatever floats your boat, girl. Just try to get rid of it… or at least prevent that thing from slipping inside my camera!” he trailed off, hugging his bulky rig and watching as the Rotom continued to buzz around, trying to aim a Shock Wave at the Slugma that had sent the prehistoric power flying right at it! The Shock Wave had the “no-miss” clause on it, but Kouji didn’t know about that, and was surprised to see the Slugma get hit by the electricity it had released!
“Snap, it can fight!” he said, backing away some more—in order to give the Slugma enough room. “Go, do what you must!” he continued, and the Slugma was now given “free rein” to take care of the ‘problem in front of them; mainly by concentrating and then summoning up a Lava Plume—which began as a rumbling underneath his feet. “Agh!” he shouted, jumping out of the way of the pillar of super-hot fire aimed at the Rotom.
As agreed with Yumi over Skype, this is now a solo thread.

Was it his imagination—or did he hear his companion shouting at him about an emergency that had come up in her apartment or something along those lines—and when he turned around to see where Yumi was, she was gone. Most likely she’d ridden out of the area on Enzo, which was a definite possibility. Now that he was alone again, he then looked around—and thought he saw a flash of something pink dart away. What was it? “Liekki, forward and be careful you don’t get caught, okay…” he hissed in the Slugma’s direction, quickly hefting up his camera and jiggling it abruptly, just to make sure the Rotom he’d met earlier was no longer inside. The Slugma had decided to carry on forward and was now poking around the bushes—when he saw that it was now backing towards him in alarm; looking extremely shocked. “Eh? What’s the matter with you?” he asked with a hint of confusion in his voice—when the Dusknoir had decided to go and scout ahead and then came back with this weirded-out look on its face.
“Eh?!” was all he could exclaim as he blinked and looked down—and the Dusknoir quickly decided to “hide” for a while; because there were now two Slugma headed his way; not just one. They looked similar, and he had to blink a few times—had he wandered into the correct Zone, or was there something playing a trick on him? He then looked up again and saw that his Slugma was now circling around the… look-alike, and then began to summon up a pillar of fire; since Liekki was pretty much independent and could do things on her own without him telling her what to do. He then scrambled backwards as the Lava Plume that had split the earth open between the two Slugma erupted, quickly dousing the other “Fire-type” with its rage; and he could only watch—what was going on? Apparently his Dusknoir had an idea of what was going on, because no matter where Kouji looked, he couldn’t find his number one companion anywhere—even if he was just there, literally floating “out of sight” at the moment.
The other “Slugma” could only look in surprise as the pillar of fire came crashing down around it, and it let out a strangled cry of surprise—something that didn’t sound like the way a Slugma would normally cry out if it was caught by surprise. He barely had time to blink as he saw that his Slugma had continued attacking—this time it had unleashed an Ancient Power attack and the blast of apparent “prehistoric” power was now screeching through the air towards the second “Slugma”, which was now just trying to evade as much as it could. What was the matter with the other—when Kouji suddenly realized what it was. “Heh,” was all he had time to say as he plucked out another PokeBall and then out in the flash of red light revealed his Krookodile, who was happy to be out. “Hie, go and use Dig on the other Slugma. Not Liekki, okay?” he said, and watched as the Desert Croc took a running start before diving into the ground; while the real Slugma had resorted to raining down pillar after pillar of fire from the Lava Plume.
The other “Slugma” could only dodge—and once the Krookodile appeared and knocked it sky-high thanks to hitting it with Dig, he saw the visage of the other “Slugma” fall away—being replaced with a pink, shapeless mass… “Oh, shit, I knew it…” he said, watching as the Ditto landed on the ground—and was now very much confused; which form was it going to take? It ended up trying to turn into a Krookodile that looked like it had burns all over its skin—and with a combined Lava Plume and Earthquake surge from the Slugma and the Krookodile, the Ditto was tossed sky-high once again—where yet another barrage of Lava Plumes caught it, incinerating it as it came crashing to the ground… and was hit with a Foul Play attack right upon landing. “Alright, you two, quit the carnage,” he said with a sheepish look on his face as he took aim and chucked the Safari Ball at the weird, pink, shapeless mass…

Three—no, make that four—pairs of eyes watched as the Safari Ball that was now struggling to contain the pink, blobby shape shifter twitch once, then twice. On the third attempt, it finally rocked to a stop and the Safari Ball itself went off with a ding—signifying that its occupant had calmed down! He then breathed a sigh of relief—and watched as his Dusknoir suddenly “phased” itself into visible existence once more; gloating to himself—before Kouji took an aim at him and then lightly poked him. “Heh. I was wondering where you went off to,” he said with a chuckle; watching as the Slugma and the Krookodile then ambled over, looking very proud of themselves for another job well done. “Alright, this little shape shifter is going to someone who wanted to get ‘im—I know, I’m too nice,” he began as the three ‘mons then began looking at him with something that resembled disapproval—before waving them off.
“You guys forgot, we already have a Ditto at our disposal. If we had one of our own, then it would be pretty much harder to tell them apart since they look the same… and that’s saying something, because I know they’re bloody genderless…” he said, more to himself as he muttered and picked up the now occupied Safari Ball and looked at the Ditto that was now attempting to transform into whatever it could see. “Just hang in there, okay? You’ll be home with your new master soon…” he added with a whistle as he began chucking the Safari Ball up and down; before quickly recalling the three ‘mons who were out with his free hand. Once everything was said and done, he then cracked another grin as he turned tail and beat it out of the Safari Zone, off to drop off “the D” to the purchaser.
