Josh was having lunch with his team, deciding to have a little picnic. Beside him was Lightning, Inferno and Vulcan, who were eating the sandwiches he'd saved for lunch. Nearby was Fawkes, who was trying to help the two newcomers, Aero and Buddy, learn how to chomp down the sandwiches. Since they were both only a few days old, they would need all the help they could get!
Watching from the trees though, was a tiny creature. A Pachirisu, obviously hungry, watched from a branch as the group ate below. Obviously, he was thinking of a few ways to feed himself.
Checkmate.
The Pachirisu would scamper down, without anyone looking. Before anyone could realize, he would dash through the picnic and snatch the sandwich that Buddy was trying to take a bite out of. The baby Houndour stared at where his sandwich had been, in shock, in silence... And then he started whimpering and crying. Josh looked over and brought himself over to where the Houndour puppy was crying, taking him in his arms, sighing as he cuddled him. "There there.... What's wrong?" he asked, patting his head. Meanwhile, Fawkes had seen the Pachirisu steal the sandwich. Needless to say, the hotheaded Charmeleon was incredibly angry and had run off after the little mouse to get revenge.
Before the Pachirisu knew it, he'd been hit with an Ember attack by the Charmeleon that had been charging toward it full speed, and would crash into the tree, dropping the sandwich. Opening his little eyes, he would find an angry Charmeleon staring down at it.
"Pa-Pa-Pa!" he protested fearfully, only to be grabbed by the throat and pressed against the tree by the angry Charmeleon. "Char! Char, char char!" he roared angrily, pointing down at the sandwich before releasing him. The Pachirisu would nod before picking up the sandwich and following the Charmeleon back to the picnic blanket.
Josh eyed Fawkes and the Pachirisu and raised an eyebrow. Fawkes stared the Pachirisu down before the wild pokemon walked over and handed the sandwich back to Buddy with an apologetic look.
"... Is that what happened?" Josh asked Fawkes, who let go of Buddy to let him take the sandwich. The Houndour puppy would squeal in delight before chomping down on his regained dinner! Josh smiled a bit and nodded over at Fawkes. "Thank you" he said to the Charmeleon who nodded before sitting down to eat himself.
The Pachirisu looked down at his stomach, which grumbled. He whined as he started to walk off. Josh looked over and frowned, feeling bad. He'd just been trying to feed himself after all. "Hey" Josh said, giving the wild Pokemon a small smile. "You can come eat with us if you like. No need to steal, there's plenty for everyone!" he promised as he took a sandwich out of the basket and handed it to the Pachirisu. He squealed in delight as he took it and nommed on it.
"Yknow... How would you feel about coming with us after this is over?" he asked, smiling a bit. "Pa! Pa!" he responded happily with a nod. Josh chuckled a bit and placed a Pokeball beside him. "If you may?" he asked. The Pachirisu tilted his head and tapped the Pokeball, getting sucked into it...

Word on the street was that a swarm of Pachirisu had it out for the residents of Solaceon Town. It was a story Danny picked up on as he rested in one of the Pokemon Centers in Hoenn, and the only reason it caught his interest was because of how hilarious these land squirrels were. People posted pictures of them running across telephone poles as if it was a tight rope, while others reported Pachirisu getting stuck in chimneys. People complained as trash cans were knocked down and lawns were dug up, all problems that Danny was glad he didn't have to deal with, but there was a call for trainers to catch some of the Pachirisu to try and ease the problem.
Depending on how many you caught, you could get a free meal at one of the local restaurants. Not a bad deal, at least that was how Danny saw it. Looked like it was time to give Sinnoh a chance, figuring that getting a small taste of it wouldn't hurt after traveling Hoenn for so long.
Knowing how his team was filled with flying types, he decided to switch things around before stepping into Solaceon Town. Sure enough, there were Pachirisu all over the place, and people were chasing them off with brooms and sticks, only to get shocked for even trying to chase them off. "Geez...guess I can only put a dent in their problem." There was no way he could catch all of these roaming rodents, but he was here for the free food, so who cared how many he caught. As long as he got to eat, then who cared?
The locals looked frustrated, and he felt like their temporary savior as he blocked the path of a trio of mischevious Pachirisu. "So, you think you can get away with tormenting the town of Solaceon? Ha! I laugh. HA HA! I laughed twice." He switched two Pokeballs between his fingers on one hand while he enlarged a Pokeball in the other, holding it out like he was ready to fight. "Behold, my three Unovian wonders. They'll take you down, easy peasy." The Pachirisu stared at the Pokeballs in wonder as each burst open in a flash of light, revealing a Lillipup, a Deerling, and a Karrablast that looked ready to fight.
B A T T L E !
Actually, it was their first time fighting under Danny, and it was hard to deny that they didn't at least feel slightly nervous about it. "Leeroy, use Helping Hand on Prince and Luce. Get ready." While he was still inexperienced with Double Battles himself, Danny didn't feel like using Leeroy was a bad choice. The Lillipup jumped and wagged his tail, showering the Deerling and Karrablast with affection to prep them for battle. It made Prince a little uncomfortable, but Luce was lapping it up with a bashful laugh. Prince and Luce were perfectly set up for the first turn, but before they could attack, the Pachirisu trio butted in.
One of them blew a Sweet Kiss at Leeroy before he could do any damage, and as several plump hearts floated over to him, he sniffed them out of curiosity. The moment his nose made contact with the move, the heart popped, releasing a puff of pink smoke in its wake. One sniff was all the Pachirisu needed to confuse her foe, and it worked, because Leeroy was stumbling between the squirrels with a goofy grin on his face. "Confusion is gonna be the death of me, I swear. Prince, Luce, use Double Edge and Bug Buzz! Try to hit the same one if you can." Taking out each foe one by one didn't sound like a bad idea, but that was under the assumption that they could pull it off. Stronger than before from the Helping Hand, Prince sprung towards one of the Pachirisu with reckless speed, barrelling right into it as Luce came from behind with a painful screech, weakening the Pachirisu even more.
Technically, the combination should've knocked the Pachirisu right out, but despite all of the wounds on its fuzzy white body, it managed to hang in there with a tired sigh. "See? It gone and used Endure again." A lady tsked as she walked by, knowing just how stubborn these electric rats could be. Now that was a new attack to Danny's ears, and he was going to have to look into that later. "Nothing I can't handle." He grumbled, turning back to the battle to make sure he didn't miss anything important, but by the time he turned around, poor Prince and Luce were being Nuzzled down by two Pachirisu while another chomped into Leeroy with a Super Fang.
It didn't help that Leeroy immediately attacked himself in response, leaving two paralyzed Pokemon to handle the rest of the turn. Prince didn't look as if he could move, but Luce shook the sparks off for the time being. "Luce, finish off the weakened Pachirisu with a Fury Attack!" At the very least, they could have the numbers in their favor. Despite being able to move for the turn, the Karrablast struggled to charge at the Pachirisu on his stumpy legs. The electric type easily dodged the Fury Attack, chuckling as it playfully batted the Karrablast away with its poofy tail. Satisfied with the distance between them, the Pachirisu erupted in a stream of sparks, unleashing a painful Discharge on everyone in the area. While its friends danced in the sparks thanks to their Volt Absorb abilities, everyone on Danny's team suffered from the blow.
Of all the blasted things, this had to happen to him. "Shake it off, guys. I know you can pull through if you just--hey, where did you get those markers?" Gaping as his team was left paralyzed, confused, and unable to battle for yet another turn, the Pachirisu squad started doodling all over their attackers. Karrablast was left with smiley faces all over his shell, Sweet Prince was left with a ton of ink facial hair, and Leeroy was given swirls and scribbles all over his fur. "No! Bad squirrels! Drop the markers. Drop'em." Stomping over to the Pachirisu, he tried swiping the markers right out of their hands, but they jumped and crawled all over him with ease, even shocking him for good measure.
"I'm not done yet. I'm so not done yet. Right, team?" Getting back onto his feet, he turned to see if the status conditions managed to wear off for a single turn. Actually, they looked good to go for the most part. Luce's Shed Skin ability kicked in, clearing the Paralysis away completely, Leeroy snapped out of confusion, and Prince looked like he was able to move this turn. All of them looked motivated to kick some Pachi butt too. Perfect. "Helping Hand again, Leeroy. Then use Tackle on that Pachirisu!" He waited for Leeroy to cheer on Prince and Luce, and as the energetic Lillipup sped off, he focused on the other two. "Attack at will, guys. You got this." Until he could afford some TMs, he was rather limited on attacks for these guys. Until then, they were free to do whatever they pleased.
Leeroy managed to knock out the injured Pachirisu with a happy Tackle, pouncing on it with glee as the others took care of business. Prince had a hard time moving around as electricity crawled up his legs like baby snakes, but he could still kick a Pachirisu in the face with a Double Kick, leaving Luce to jump in and Slash the Pachirisu down with his mighty horn. Tired, but far from done, Prince rammed into the other Pachirisu with heartless abandon, striking it hard with a painful Double Edge. He cringed as the recoil nibbled at his health, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle.
The two remaining Pachirisu were starting to feel the heat, but they weren't willing to give up. They winked and twirled around one another, showing off their charm so the mean Deerling and Karrablast wouldn't hit so hard. Once they caught the look of sympathy in their eyes, they charged after them with a sneaky Super Fang, cutting their health in half yet again. It wasn't an easy battle, but it looked as if it was going to end soon, and Danny clapped and jumped in excitement. "Final stretch, fellas! Leeroy, get in there with Bite and Last Resort! Prince, use Double Kick! Luce, wrap it up with Bug Buzz!" Some of the atacks might've been weakened from the Charm, but with the damage the two Pachirisu took, it no longer mattered. Leeroy's fangs dug themselves deep into the Pachirisu's tail as his Last Resort attack kicked in. In a desperate attempt to end the battle, he ran and dragged the Pachirisu with him, tugging and tossing it everywhere as Prince backed him up with a Double Kick, taking it out with ease.
Karrablast was stuck Bug Buzzing away at the remaining Pachirisu, who was stuck Enduring the attacks for as long as possible. Using so many attacks was putting a toll on Luce's stamina, and eventually he had to stop with a painful wheeze, slumping to the ground in silence. Well, even if the Pachirisu didn't faint, if it was at the last bit of health, then a Pokeball should've worked. "Take a breather, Luce. It's my turn now." It was a good thing he had three empty Pokeballs prepared for this mission, otherwise this would've been embarrassing. It wasn't a bad first battle with his Unova Pokemon, handling the crowd's attention pretty well as the Pachirisu playfully chipped away at their egos. It wasn't easy being embarassed front of a crowd, but he was proud of them. Now all he had to do was hope he could catch some of these Pachirisu, as promised. Crossing his fingers and his toes, he tossed a Pokeball at each of the Pachirisu, eager to catch them for his collection.

What Josh hadn't been expecting, of course, was for the Pachirisu to suddenly escape from the Pokeball, steal a bunch of sandwiches and run off with them. Looks like this one had a mischievous side! Unfortunately for Pachirisu, that didn't seem to sit well with Fawkes. Scratch that, it DEFINITELY didn't sit well with Fawkes! How dare this little imp steal food from a baby, pretend to apologize, then go and steal more food and run! The Charmeleon immediately got up and ran after it.
"Hey! Fawkes!" Josh called after him. "It's okay! It's a little mischievous, that's fine! There's plenty of food left!" he reassured. Sadly, the Charmeleon had been set off and wasn't listening. He would immediately ram himself into the Pachirisu from behind as he caught up, sending it rolling across the ground and dropping the food it had bunched up in it's arms as it rolled, before crashing into a tree and dizzily getting up. After having used this tactic several times before though, Fawkes knew full well how to prevent the Pachirisu from escaping. Stopping in front of the Pachirisu, Fawkes would summon a giant purple face with Scary Face attack that would cause the Pachirisu to jump in fright, lowering it's speed enough that it wouldn't be running from Fawkes anytime soon. Frightened, the Pachirisu held up it's little arms, trying to reason with Fawkes. Apparently, he wasn't falling for it this time though, as he unleashed an Ember attack, the flaming particles hitting Parchirisu dead on over and over as it tried to back up. Sadly, the tree it had backed into kept it from going any further and it absorbed the ember attacks until Fawkes decided to stop. Before Fawkes could capitalize though, the Pachirisu would suddenly fight back, lunging toward the Charmeleon and nailing him with a Hyper Fang attack out of nowhere, sending Fawkes flying back.
"Fawkes!" Josh let out as he got up, starting to get concerned. This battle was starting to get out of hand... Fawkes wasn't giving up, and would get up before lunging at the Pachirisu, who had been slowed a bit too much by Scary Face to flee, with Fire Fang. His fangs would flash with blazing fire before they were slammed into the Pachirisu, who ate a taste of his own medicine and went flying back into another tree.
"Fawkes, that's enough!" Josh called out as he started walking toward the Charmeleon to stop this thing before anyone got seriously hurt. Fawkes was quicker on the draw though, and would summon a burst of energy that Josh knew all too well. The giant burning X soared toward the Pachirisu as Fawkes used Dragon Rage, slamming right into the obviously wounded Pachirisu just as it managed to get to it's feet, sending it right back down again.
Fawkes wasn't through though, and despite the wounded status of the Pachirisu, he figured it was probably faking again. So instead of showing mercy, Fawkes would unleash a jet of Ember onto it, nonstop with the flaming particles that pelted into the Pachirisu with a fury, despite the fact it was prone on the ground.
Finally, Josh grabbed Fawkes by the arm, stopping the Ember. "Stop, Fawkes" he scolded calmly. He sighed and leaned down to be face to face with his Charmeleon. "Look, I know you're just trying to be a protector, I know you're mad at that Pachirisu for stealing food from Buddy, and I know it was wrong of it to steal from us right after. But I think it's learned it's lesson" he said. He smiled and patted Fawkes's head. "I know your heart was in the right place, but you don't have to be so violent when you're angry" he said, sighing. He looked over at the prone Pachirisu and shook his head. "We best get this one to a Pokemon Center. I'm not comfortable with leaving it here to die after the beating it took" he said as he went and grabbed the Pokeball it had escaped from, tossing it at the unconscious Pachirisu as it got sucked into the ball again...
Josh sighed as he watched it go in, hoping this would be it this time. He looked over at the party. "Alright guys, start finishing up your food. We gotta hurry up and get this one to a Pokemon Center, so our picnic's going to have to wait" he said with a frown.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
In the forests of Sinnoh a rather appropriate swarm had appered. With the recent news that a trainer had managed to beat the league's doubles tournament with a pachirisu! A small fluffy electirc squirrel of all things. How he'd managed to do it, not many people knew, heck they'd seen the little electric type take a draco meteor and come out alive with naught more than a couple of scratches. Yumi had thought to take it on, get a nice little squirrel to add to her team. Downside was that she was still on the job hunt, so she wasn't exactly finding it easy to get any free time to herself.
Luckily, she had some little tykes who refused to stay still.
Watching from the bushes, three peering eyes gazed at the electric squirrels, spotting three of the tykes and keeping a careful eye on them. The small fluffy creatures just seemed to be going about their business. They had one clear leader, a talled squirrel who ha a much larger tail than the rest. Either that or it was a lot more fluffy and poofy. Whatever it was, the electric type was the one controlling the food, handing it out to the smaller examples of his species.
"*Lookie what we got here...three of those little demons that took down a salamance and a Tyranitar...I swear these little things are just waiting for us to drop our guard so they can get us. I bet they even know we're watching.*"
Back in the bushes, a Dusclops rose back and remained out of sight, but rested a hand on his head, groaning softly as he stared down at the Nidorino who seemed to have some sort of Vendetta against these creatures. "Are you still upset no Nidokings were used in the tournament?"
Target let out a low growl as he looked up at his partner Grim. Why Yumi always set them together he had no clue, they were constantly tried to get at eachother's throats, be it verbally, or literally as the case may be. "*These things are evil Grim! I'm tellin' ya! You can seance your shitty ghost pals all you want, but that fiery pit down there produced worse fuckers than the guys you play poker with, and they're right there eating pecha berries!*"
"*They are small, insignificant, HARMLESS rodents, who probably knew that it was pecha berry season, and wante in on some of the action.*" Raising his hands up and pinching his fingers together, Grim tried to stress with all his years wisdom his next few words. "*Just because a very exceptional one could tank a draco meteor, does not mean they're going to eat your soul.*"
"*Oh dosn't it now?*"
The argument froze as the ghost and poison types heard a third party enter the conversation, slowly, their heads would turn. Their gaze would lock on the three pachirisu, two smaller specimens standing either side of a taller one, the leader that the Nidorino had spotted. It was standing tall with a strong, cocky grin, arms crossed confidentally. For a brief moment, the Dusclops just sighed, glaring at the Nidorino.
"*You have got to be kidding me.*"
In a sudden flash, the Nidorino and Dusclops were blasted away, landing on their backs with a burning pain in their chests and heads from where they had faced the Pachirisu. With a groan Target looked back, the two smaller pokemon seeming more energetic as the third was still sparking from discharge. With a low growl he rose straight to his feet, rushing forward with a burning horn filled with poison.
"*Boys, show 'em what we got.~*"
At the command of their boss one of the smaller pachi rose it's paw up and trie to strike down the charging pokemon, hurling an electro ball towards him. Just as it was about to make contact, and Target would attempt to rush through it, a wall of black appeared, a solidifed shadow sneak between him and the attack. Behind him Grim had rose his hands, manipulating his own shadow in order to back Target up. "*Ya know you really oughta stop looking before you leap.*"
"*You oughta keep that one good eye of yours on the prize!*"
Leaping over the barricade Target continued his charge, ramming headfirst into one of the smaller Pachi, much to the surprise of the boss. With a growl the Boss' attention turned to Grim, a paw raised to fire a thunder wave his way, but even as he prepared his attack, the Dusclops seemed to smile with his eye, twirling a single finger. Before he could comprehend what was going on, a punch hit his right cheek, and it was clear from a quick look that his remaining partner had become confused.
"*Ah geeze, you were the dumb one anyway...*"
With a spirt of quick attacks the boss Pachrisu rapidly beat his lackey into unconciousness, just to get it out of the way. Target had pummeled his pall with poison jab until went lights out, and now all that was left was two strong pokemon circling an electric squirrel.
"*What...you boys thing you can beat me?*" With a grin, electricity and static began to burn at his cheeks. "*Me no think so-GAGH!*"The Squirrel suddenly keeled over mid charge, holding his stomache, his eyes darting between his two attackers, wondeirng which of them had caused him this pain. Realizing the Dusclops was missing a hand, he realized the thing was messing around with its own body to deal the damage needed for a curse. "*Oh...we got a smart guy...well I still got the charge for-!*"
Bonk.
In a flash of red, and two soon after, the three pachirisu were gone, leaving a weakned Dusclops and a groaning Nidorino to look up at the red head who had decided to show up.
"What did I tell you guys about picking on wild pokemon? We gotta get these guys healed."
The two pokemon of the trainer simply stared at eachother, sighing in disbelief.
