elcome Adventurer to EPOCH! A Pokemon Sandbox Rp set in the original region of Nue. Everything you need to know will be in the Guidebook and PokeDex 101!
EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.
Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. If you find yourself content with being an asshole EPOCH and its members will not tolerate you.

"Oh I'm sure we could have found a nice little moment to introduce ourselves before things got awkward" he teased his new companion playfully. Was he being flirty? Who knows. Maybe he just liked her style enough to joke and tesse a bit. Lucky her, right?
She would immediately send her team after the horde, and they seemed to handle it pretty well. Meanwhile she'd instruct he withdrew his own Pokemon into their Pokeballs. While he wanted badly to send his Pokemon out and help, he had a feeling that she had something evil cooking up.
"Alright..." He said, begrudgedly. "Vulcan, return" he said, hesitantly returning his Torchic to his Pokeball. He took out Lightning's ball and held it out to him. "Alright, Lightning, same as Vulcan, return. It's for your safety"
"Pi! Pi-cha!" Lightning would shout though, shaking his head defiantly. He wasn't letting his Trainer get caught in this without him. "Lightning, return" Josh said, hitting the button. Lightning would dodge out of the way though, refusing to give up now.
"Gah, cmon Lightning..." He muttered irriably. "Fine... Lightning, use Thunder Wave!" Josh suddenly called. The Pichu would happily hop onto his shoulder and send out a wave of electricity that would be meant to Paralyze the Sandshrew and Slash he could hit, despite his orders.

One of the Sandslash had decided to sneak up on the Swampert; but with the right timing, the Vibrava came in and pummeled it aside with another Faint Attack, drawing the Swampert’s attention to the supposed “sneak attack”! The Swampert then retaliated with a full-body Tackle, before sending it flying off towards its “crew”, pretty much like a bowling ball. The Garchomp had succeeded in knocking the Sandslash that had challenged it back towards the crowd—they were grouping the incoming phalanx together, because apparently Yuya was up to something—the three then fell back, and she quickly recalled the Garchomp, but left the Vibrava out because it was flying around anyway. She noticed that the Pichu had hopped onto his shoulder and had attempted to fire off one of its Electric-based attacks, though she knew that what the Pichu was doing was an exercise in futility—ground-typing rendered the Electric attack quite useless!
“Now this is where it gets interesting,” she said in Josh’s direction, before she gave another whistle, before announcing her intent—the Swampert was just itching to get it done and over with.
“Yuya, you know what to do! Surf the horde out of the way!”
“Swampert!” she heard Yuya reply, and with a lot of limb-raising, a sudden torrent of water appeared from out of nowhere, headed and crashing down towards the phalanx of Ground-types that were fenced together due to the earlier Ice Beam attack! The force of the water was so strong it had literally flooded the entire area; and she could tell that the ground was going to be one muddy mess now. Ugh, thank goodness I didn’t wear something that I like too much, but still, my boots are going to require a thorough drying-out and cleaning… she thought as she lifted up her foot and saw that the ground beneath their own feet had turned quite mucky. To her surprise, though, the grouped horde was still standing strong—but it was mostly the Sandslash that remained; the force of the Surf attack had made the shell-shocked group of Sandshrew curl up in a panic and they were caught in the ebbing tide of water.
“Yuya, again! Surf, one more time! The Sandslash are still there!”
“Swampert!” she heard her companion call out; and as if on cue, her Vibrava landed on her shoulder, just to watch the moment—after the Swampert had raised its arms high, as if summoning something from the heavens, she then saw another tidal wave come out of nowhere, crashing down on the defiant Sandslash that were trying to swim towards them. However, the ebb of the water was going away from the town, and the Sandslash were unable to do so—causing them to be carried down and way beyond the town limits. Izumi then noticed that the muck was now mixed with the ash, and knew that they were going to have to get their clothes changed right away. “Ugh, sorry,” she began in a sheepish tone in his direction, “…too much water got mixed in with the dirt. Anyway, that takes care of them…”
{Tidal Rage}Vibrava, Garchomp and Swampert are out on the battlefield!
Vibrava continues the assault with Faint Attack, driving the Sandslash back towards the grouped horde; while Swampert comes in for a full-force Tackle attack.
Garchomp recalled from battlefield, Vibrava flying in the air; Swampert uses Surf and floods the entire area, the direction of the current going away from Fallarbor! All Sandshrew are swept away due to the force of the waves.
Swampert continues with another Surf attack, ensuring that even the Sandslash are swept out of the area!

".... Oh, Arceus, that's not good" Josh remarked quietly as he saw the giant wave coming. He would instantly wrap Lightning in his arms and take cover (Despite the only "cover" being rocks), curling up to try not to get swept up and sent flying. The tidal wave would come and wash over them, and Josh's eyes widened as he got soaked. He would cough and sputter, but he had shielded Lightning from the brunt of the damage.
.... Then it came again. Josh held Lightning tighter and shielded him with his body as the tidal wave came again. He groaned from being soaked and shook the water out of his hair. "Fuuuuuuck...." he muttered as he got up, noticing the Sandys were fleeing or were KO'd.
"Guh..." he muttered as he let Lightning climb onto his shoulder. "Is that all of them?" he asked. "Pichu-Pi-Cha...." Lightning murmured irritably.
Nope.
"GOD DAMN DRUNKARDS" he muttered to himself as he noticed the Spinda had appeared. Before Josh could do anything though, Vulcan would suddenly pop out of his Pokeball.
"Vulcan, what are you do-" Josh couldn't finish, before the Torchic had laid his eyes on the intruding Spinda. "TORRRRRRRRRRRR!" he would instantly let out, targeting one of the Spinda with Flamethrower, which would be caught off guard and run for it's life.
Another would leap at the attacking Torchic and attempt Dizzy Punch, but Vulcan would move to the side and start pecking at it's eyes aggressively. "Holy shit, Vulcan" Josh muttered quietly. Where had his Torchic gotten this aggressive streak from?
"Where did he get this stubbornness from?" Josh mused aloud. Lightning would look at Josh and point at him. "Pichu-Pi" he said proudly. "..... Yeah, probably me" Josh said, sighing. Might as well roll with it. It seemed whatever was going on, Vulcan had something to prove.
"Alright Vulcan, use Quick Attack!" Josh called. He was right back in sync with his Torchic now, and he was just as fierce and determined as his Pokemon. If Vulcan felt he had something to prove, so did he....
"Tor!" Vulcan let out as he would charge toward the Spinda he'd hit, starting to pick up speed rapidly before ramming himself into it, sending the Spinda flying back. The Spinda would get up and respond with a Dizzy Punch, hitting Vulcan full on. "TOR!" Vulcan let out in pain as he tumbled back, but Josh would coax him up. "Don't let that phase you, Vulcan!" Josh called out in encouragement. "Use Flamethrower one more time!"
Lightning watched in awe as Vulcan would nod before instantly turning to the Spinda. "TORRRRRRRR!" he would let out as a large jet of flame would coat the Spinda, frying it and causing it to collapse.
"That's two down! Good job, Vulcan!" Josh called out with a laugh. "Torchic-Tor!" Vulcan chirped excitedly.

Izumi sighed in relief—because the Sandshrew / Sandslash threat had been “swept away”, for now. What she was not expecting, however, was the sudden appearance of another band of motley ‘mons that were incoming—and they were something she’d seen and encountered only once before, yet she would watch in amusement as Josh’s Torchic suddenly decided to hop out of his Pokeball and then began attacking the incoming crazy drunkard Spindas without warning! “Whoa, that’s one pissed-off Torchic you got there,” she commented with a bit of a smirk on her face; before noticing that there were two more Spinda headed her way! “Hoo boy, this is going to get real ugly, real fast,” she muttered, quickly plucking out Yuya’s pokeball and recalling her, leaving just Mau, her Vibrava, out on the battlefield. “It’s time for your light to shine, Mau! Let’s get started with a Heat Wave attack, shall we?” she asked the Vibration ‘mon, to which he happily complied, flapping his wings before inhaling and then releasing a hot blast of fire—not as powerful as a Flamethrower attack, but it definitely did get the job done.
The two Spinda never saw what was coming—the first one had taken the brunt of the attack full-on, being forced back several steps and bumping into the other Spinda which was now trying to leer over at where the Vibrava was—before it took a deep breath and then started attacking, causing an Uproar in the general area! “Argh!” Izumi hissed, clapping her hands over her ears—the Vibrava was also slightly dazed due to the sudden increase in noise level coming from the other Spinda. “Alright, Mau, Bulldoze those two!” she continued, and the Vibrava then flew down low, much like a fighter plane would for an up-close attack, before stomping down as hard as it could manage, causing the ground to tremble and shake; but without the intensity of an Earthquake attack. The two Spinda had their Speed reduced, and they were slowed down due to the sudden tremors that shook the area. It didn’t help that the ground was now all muddy—but then the second Spinda that was closing in on Izumi then came forward, rushing with a Dizzy Punch attack! “Mau! Get out of the way!” she shouted, and the Vibrava quickly changed angle and then swooped upwards—therefore making the Spinda miss; instead hitting its companion!
The two Spinda then erupted into an argument, with the Vibrava sniggering to itself, hovering above the two—as he then proceeded to listen to the general outrage that the other Spinda was now causing, complaining that its companion had hit him instead of their flying target. Seeing this eruption of confusion, she then took advantage of it, “Mau, Faint Attack them twice! One for each! Then, use Heat Wave again!”
“Viiiiiiiii!”
The Vibrava then buzzed around like a madman, suddenly vanishing from the line of sight of the two arguing Spinda—when the one that had launched the Dizzy Punch attack suddenly got clobbered from its back side! The other one then caught sight of the disappearing Vibrava, before it, too, was whacked from the front by said buzzing Vibration ‘mon. The Vibrava then flew a short distance, before taking another breath and then breathing another wave of hot fire upon the two, causing them to yelp out of surprise and then running back in the direction of the ash-covered route! “Whoa… they don’t like being burned?” she chuckled to herself, before flourishing her hand forward. “Josh, the last two are all yours. Let’s get this going, and hope that the next horde is the last one…”
{Drunkards Incoming!}Vibrava out on the battlefield!
Recalled Swampert, leaving Vibrava on the battlefield! Starts off with Heat Wave aimeda t the two, knocking the Spinda close together before using Bulldoze on the two. One Spinda attempts Dizzy Punch but ends up hitting its companion instead!
Vibrava flies out of the way, before returning up-close again with two Faint Attacks, one for each Spinda, and another Heat Wave which then drives away the two arguing Spinda!

Josh chuckled a bit as he noticed from the corner of his eye that Izumi had done well with two of the other Spinda. Of course, he couldn't look for long, two more Spinda had decided to rush Vulcan at once!
"Vulcan, look out for that one's Feint Attack!" Josh suddenly called to his fired up Torchic, who just barely managed to dodge one attempted cheap-shot from the unusually aggressive Spinda, then another, and another... Vulcan was moving faster then ever, driven and motivated by something. That drive seemed to motivate his Trainer as well, who seemed to adjust himself to fit his Pokemon like they did with him. The other one though, would come and hit Vulcan with a Dizzy Punch from behind, smashing the Torchic into a rock.
"Vulcan!" Josh called out, gritting his teeth. "You can't give up now, Vulcan! Not after we've come so far!" he yelled out, encouraging him. "You can beat them, Vulcan! I know you can!" he encouraged. "I believe in you, damnit!"
And he did. Vulcan was Josh's very first Pokemon... He'd received him a long time ago when he first started his journey, thousands of miles from Hoenn. Now, his first Pokemon, the timid Vulcan was finally coming out of his own... He was so proud, he didn't know how to show it... But he could now. He would be there every step of the way to support his Torchic and take these things down.
Vulcan would get to his feet after this burst of encouragement and shake the cobwebs out of his little chicken head. Of course, both Spinda were attacking at once now... How could Vulcan take both these guys out at once, Josh wondered.... Wait, that's it!
"Vulcan, use Sand Attack, using the ash on the ground as a substitute!" Josh called out without hesitation. The ash on the ground! Sand Attack would get a little bonus with this hot ash going into the opponent's faces!
"Torchic-Tor!" Vulcan would let out as he kicked the ash like sand into the faces of the Spinda, who would cover their eyes and wobble about, their handicap in terms of balance coming into play without being able to see. They would inevitably bonk heads and collapse backwards to the ground.
"Good, Vulcan! Use Flamethrower on them both! Full power, give it everything you got!" Josh called out. "Torchic!" Vulcan would let out as he took a breath, charging it up... "TORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" he would let out as a white hot, large jet of flame would engulf both Spinda, leaving them a charred mess with X's on their eyes, indicating they were KO'd.
"Alright, Vulcan! We got em!" Josh congratulated, pumping his fist into the air. "Pi-Pi-Pichu!" Lightning celebrated as he mimicked his Trainer's pose. "Torchic-Tor!" Vulcan let out excitedly as he leaped into the air with his little legs kicking about.

Izumi could only chuckle as Josh then began to take care of the two remaining Spinda—and after they were apparently “roasted” by the suddenly-aggressive Torchic that had stepped up to defend his master, she could only grin in his direction. “Looks like your Torchic knew that trouble was coming, but what’s with the sudden aggression…” she trailed off, before giving him another cheeky smirk—and then turning her attention to the sound that was coming from not too far away. She then squinted into the distance, before hissing—and then said hiss became a full-out curse. “Oh no. Oh, hell no, not again!” she said, her intonation rising in pitch until it was a shout, before she then smacked her own palms against each other, relishing the sound of flesh hitting flesh. “We got another wave of drunkards incoming!” she shouted, pointing forward—and then over the din, the cries became more and more obvious—had they called the backup?! Was this the cavalry?“Not on our watch, let’s go!” she said, pointing forward—and her Vibrava took this as a sign to fly ahead, if but to cut off the incoming platoon of delinquent drunkards!
“Mau! Get started with Bulldoze!” she said from where she stood, and she heard the happy buzzing coming from the Vibrava’s direction, as it then suddenly corrected its flight pattern and zoomed downward, much like a fighter plane ready to unleash its payload. The Spinda were apparently on the warpath; because some of their companions (the ones that they had driven back earlier) had gotten back to them; and they were out for revenge! Their clamoring was cut short, however, as the lone Vibrava that had flown out to challenge them had suddenly pitched forward as it landed, making the ground shake and quake. Thankfully, the Vibrava was so far ahead that Izumi didn’t need to worry about hitting Josh’s ‘mons that were out on the field; and all five present were knocked and jostled around—and the grin grew wider on her face. “Mau, do it twice more, Bulldoze the ground!” she shouted from where she stood; and she heard the buzzing rise in pitch as the Vibrava flew back upwards again, barely missing the incoming Dizzy Punch from the first Spinda that had decided to break ranks and attack!
The Vibrava then hung in the air, playing bait; while two more Spinda broke off and joined the first one that had attempted to take a sock at the flying vibration ‘mon that was now buzzing around the three Spinda that it had cordoned off; before diving past the flailing Dizzy Punches coming from the three—hell, there was even an attempt at a Double-Edge attack coming from the third Spinda that had missed and ended up having him land face-first in the dirt—when the ground shook twice more, the Vibrava having taken the advantage of the general confusion erupting between the three Spinda in order to reduce their movement speed even more. Now that they were clustered together, Izumi took her chance by continuing, “Mau, Heat Wave on the three! Don’t let anyone get past you!” she shouted, watching as the Vibrava then flew up high; before the buzzing in the air reached fever-pitch; before the area where the Vibrava and the three Spinda were fighting suddenly lit up with the glow of flames; as the Vibration ‘mon unleashed a hot breath on all three; which led to them screeching in horror. Out of the general confusion, one of the Spinda then catapulted forward in a Thrashing rampage, intent on hitting the Vibrava!
“Viiiiiiiiii!” she heard Mau cry out as the tiny ‘mon got smacked around by something that was much larger; being hit from several sides at once—and then the other two then joined in as well; quickly unleashing a barrage of Dizzy Punches and Tackle attacks aimed at the Vibrava that had fallen due to the surprise impact. She could hear the Vibrava crying out as it was being pummeled by the attacks, and she then grit her teeth, before shouting, “Stay strong, Mau! Find an opening, then Heat Wave them again!” and then crossed her fingers; before hoping for the best! Back at where the fight was ongoing, the Vibrava was trying to stay strong, but even the torment of all the Dizzy Punches were bound to push it over its limits. “Urgh, Mau! Hang on!” she shouted once more; ad upon hearing her Trainer’s voice, the Vibrava then found the courage to finally get up and out of its trap; before quickly taking to the skies—and leaving the three Spinda to fight amongst themselves. Now that he was free of the terror, said Vibrava then quickly inhaled before unleashing a blast of hot breath; but of course it wasn’t as hot as a Flamethrower attack was; yet he knew that he wanted to defeat them; but how was he going to, with his puny form?! The other Spinda that had been socked in the face with the Thrash attack quickly looked skyward and then unleashed an Uproar attack; that had resonated across the battlefield!
Izumi then clapped her hands over her ears as the Vibrava also suddenly took a dip in flight, before she heard herself screaming, “Heat Wave them, keep up the stream of fire!” and then the area not too far ahead suddenly lit up with the glow of flames; for now that the Vibrava was given liberty to go all-out, it was now not holding back as it continued to unleash a torrential burst of Heat Wave attacks; one after another!
{Spoiler}{Vibravas Rampage}Vibrava out on the battlefield!
Vibby starts the ball rolling again with Bulldoze; delivering an area-wide attack; inflicting a Speed debuff on all 5 Spinda! Vibby barely dodges an incoming Dizzy punch attack from one Spinda, then flies up before soaring down again and using Bulldoze two more times, adding on to the Speed debuff that the horde has now sustained!
Vibby then flies backwards a bit before using Heat Wave, therefore taunting three Spinda to follow it, leaving the other two headed in Josh's direction. one Spinda then uses Thrash, catching the Vibrava and then sending it down to the ground; where the three then gang up on the Vibrava!
After being battered and bruised, Vibby finally finds an opening and starts going all-out with successive Heat Wave attacks!
Remaining Horde:
Spinda - 5; Speed -3 due to Bulldoze!
The three Spinda that Izumi is dealing with has their Speed reduced by 3 stages

Josh couldn't help but chuckle and stick his tongue out at Izumi. "He's just getting hot, like you of course!" he flirted casually with a grin before he noticed her trail off... What was going on?
"Oh god... No no no... NOT MORE DRUNKARDS!" he let out in irritation and annoyance as more Spinda would wobble and stumble in. They were heading for the town too... What was drawing them there? Josh let out a growl. At this point, he was as fired up as his Torchic was.
Noticing Izumi had acted quickly and had taken the fight to them, taking 3 herself and leaving 2 for Josh, he nodded and pointed to the two that were heading his way. "Vulcan, let's do this!" Josh shouted, clenching his fists with a grin. "Torchic-Tor!" Vulcan let out with energy. "Vulcan, use Peck on one of them!" Josh commanded.
"Torchic!" Vulcan let out as he went after one of them. Before he could though, the OTHER one would suddenly nail Vulcan with a hard Double Edge attack, sending the Torchic flying into a rock. "Gah..." Josh muttered. "Pichu-Pi!" Lightning cried out in horror as he heard the crack that might have been chicken bones cracking. "Vulcan..." Josh whispered. What was a Spinda doing pulling a Double Edge? What did they want so badly that they'd do shit like that?
They seemed to be mad though, as the two Spinda would suddenly start nailing the cornered Torchic with Dizzy Punch after Dizzy Punch, one after the other. Josh visibly winced, he felt heartbroken... Lightning made a motion to go help Vulcan, but the Torchic waved Lightning off with his chicken wings before he could even hop off Josh's shoulder. What could he do? His Torchic was getting pummeled by these aggressive Spinda....
"VULCAN!" Josh cried out in desperation, in agony, clinging onto some kind of hope that Vulcan might be able to escape...
"TORRRRRRR!" Vulcan suddenly let out, and the area was blinded by a bright light, as Vulcan was absorbed into it.
"Wha...?" Josh whispered. "Pi....?" Lightning let out as he heard the noises, his Torchic glowing in that light... Finally, it would disappear. The light had stunned the Spinda temporarily, and when it disappeared... Replacing the little chicken with a Combusken.
"Vulcan... He's evolved!" Josh exclaimed, grinning wide. One of the drunkards didn't seem to care much though, and would go for another Dizzy Punch. Unfortunately, the new Combusken didn't seem to care for that, and blocked it with an arm before nailing it with Peck after Peck after Peck. "Dodge, Vulcan!" Josh exclaimed as the other one tried to Cheap Shot him with Double Edge, with Vulcan side stepping and causing the Spinda to Double Edge the other one.
"Vulcan, use Flamethrower!" Josh called. Vulcan nodded and opened his mouth. "Com... BUSSSKEEEEEEEN!" he let out fiercely as a scorching hot batch of flames went right into the Spinda that were just getting up and were dazed from hitting each other, scorching them both and KOing the both of them.
"Alright!" Josh said, running over to Vulcan and wrapping an arm around his Combusken. "You did great!"

It wasn’t just Josh that had a sudden evolution happen on his hands—Izumi was surprised to see that even after being battered and bruised by the three Spinda that were unceremoniously ganging up on her Vibrava, and poor Mau just couldn’t find a chance to retaliate! All that was going to change, however, when a bright light suddenly surrounded the Vibrava that was already going down under a continuous hail of attacks from the Spinda—and that’s when she nudged him and caught his attention, “Look… I think it’s not just you who’s going to get a lights show…” she muttered before squinting into the bright light—and then shielding her eyes because the flash had gotten extremely bright! The three Spinda that had also ganged up on the Vibrava were taken aback at the sudden “flash-bang” like light that was pouring out of the Vibrava—it got so intense she had to shield her eyes from the glare! Once the lights show was over, she then blinked her eyes rapidly in order to get rid of the afterimages that were burned onto her retina… and that are when she saw that Mau was a Vibrava no more! Instead of being a small and compact little dragonfly-like creature, Mau had… seemingly grown and had gained a light-and-dark green hue to his body—he even had a longer tail!
What surprised her the most, however, was the fact that he now looked like a fighter pilot who was wearing red goggles over his eyes—and he was bigger, much bigger than she’d remembered seeing him! “Wh—“ she trailed off, surprised to see that Mau was now bigger, better… and had a new storehouse of energy to burn up! “Alright, let’s do this! Mau! Let’s start flinging rocks at those ugly drunks! Go use your Rock Slide attack, now!” she shouted, suddenly picking up steam—even the three Spinda had gone to a standstill upon seeing the oppressed little thing suddenly evolve and transform into a much bigger creature! “Goooooon!” she heard Mau cry out, and lickety-split, the Mystic ‘mon then flung its tail toward the ground, causing a shock wave to emanate from the point of impact—and then a portal suddenly opened above where the three Spinda were located; before raining down a lot of boulders on the three! She then decided to follow it up with, “Alright, continue on with Heat Wave!” and after the initial rock storm had clobbered the three confounded Spinda, the Flygon then flew up high; before suddenly rocketing down and then breathing a hot blast of fire! She knew that she had to eventually replace Heat Wave; because nothing beats a good ol’ Flamethrower attack in any case. Once that was done, she then took a breath and then continued, “Alright, step it up! Hit ‘em with a Bulldoze!”
The Flygon continued to fly low; before finally finding an opening and smacking its tail down hard on the ground, knocking the three scorched Spinda together and then, instead of waiting for an order from Izumi—the Flygon then breathed another blast of hot fire; its Heat Wave attack; scorching the three Spinda and finally driving them away! “Woohoo! Three down, two more to go!” she shouted, watching as the Flygon then flew back towards her and then held out a tentative hand—to which she replied with a high-five!
Flygon starts off with a Rock Slide from above, dropping a load of rocks down on the spinda; before coming up close and breathing a Heat Wave attack on the three. After that. Flygon then flies out of range before slamming its tail down, causing the three spinda to suffer another Speed reduction--and ending the entie thing with another Heat Wave, repelling the three Flygon away!

Josh couldn't help but look over when he saw the bright light. Seems Vulcan wasn't the only one who was struggling, nor was he the only one that had an evolution. He watched as Izumi's Vibrava evolved into a Flygon with a proud smirk on his face. "Pichu-Pi-Cha!" Lightning let out in celebration, and watched as Izumi's new Flygon would pound the snot out of the Spinda he'd been facing, until they both went down.
"Alright, we did it!" Josh said with a grin. "Vulcan, Lightning, both of you return, you deserve a good rest" he said, smiling as he returned both his Pichu and new Combusken to their Pokeballs. "Well, Izumi, it was fun-"
No sooner had he began that he saw from the corner of his eyes... TWO MORE DRUNKARDS! He raised an eyebrow, how many were there? He had to set an example to them somehow, to get them to stop coming... But how?
Lightning and Vulcan were too exhausted, he knew. Who could he use?
He got it.
"Go, Ace!" he called as he tossed a Pokeball, with a Pidgeotto coming out to his call. "Pidgoooo!" he let out as he flew around the battlefield. "Ace, watch out for Double Edge, and use Wing Attack on the rebound!" he called as Ace barely managed to fly by a Spinda attempting Double Edge, who would crash hard into one of the rocks, causing some hard recoil. Ace's wings would glow as he slammed one of them into the back of the Spinda on the fly-back, sending it crashing through the rocks.
Ace was one of Josh's veteran Pokemon, one of the four he brought from Kotaku. He was confident in the Pidgeotto's abilities, if he was careful... What he wasn't expecting was for the other Spinda to suddenly leap into the air and near crack Ace's head open with a hard Dizzy Punch, sending the Pidgeotto on a downward spiral.
"Ace! Pull up! Pull up!" Josh called out. The Pidgeotto, who was stunned momentarily, just managed to fly straight before it could hit the ground, skinning the cat as he flew an inch from the ground for a moment before flying back up.
"Agility, then Quick Attack, Ace!" he called out. "Pidgooooo!" he responded as he suddenly began to speed up, flying by the Spinda who attempted another Dizzy Punch, but the speed increase as he began charging up Quick Attack allowed him to zip by it.
"U-Turn it, Quick Attack now Ace!" Josh called. Obliging to his commands, Ace would fly upside down, backflipping itself as it flew upside down after the U-Turn, slamming into the Spinda from behind in mid-air, sending it crashing to the ground.
Josh quickly grabbed two Pokeballs from his pocket and tossed them at both Spinda, hoping their catching would serve as example for the others. Both downed Spinda would be caught in the Pokeballs respectively as Ace circled to make sure they didn't escape...

She then watched as Josh dealt with the two remaining Spinda—but was surprised to see that he’d brought out some Pokeballs and had chucked them towards the two that had tried to sneak up and attack him while he had his guard down! “Catching them for yourself or for someone else?” she asked with a devious grin on her face; and that was the moment that someone approached Izumi and called her attention. “Alright, give me a few,” she said in his direction before heading over to the soot-covered townsman who had come to deliver the news that the citizenry of Fallarbor had finished cleaning up the town; and she then let out a sigh of relief! In turn, she then shared the information that the hordes had been driven back; and that they were successful at keeping the invaders away. The townsman then shared a few more words with her, before retreating back into the small community, shouting something about getting a free shower at the Pokémon Center.
“Well,” she began again, heading back to where he was now plucking up two loaded Pokeballs, “…the town’s already cleaned up; and we’re free to drop by their Pokémon Center if we want to get a shower… although… I have a better idea,” she trailed off, suddenly remembering that Lavaridge wasn’t too far away from where they were at the moment. She then pulled out her mobile phone and dialed a number, before raising it to her ear and then conversing with the person who’d picked up o the other end. If Josh were to listen in, he wouldn’t understand a word she was saying—this was because Izumi was talking to her mother, and whenever she did so, she’d default into her “second language”; which was as foreign-sounding as it could get! After a few more words, she hung up, and then smirked in his direction. “So… apparently, we can pop over to Lavaridge and get ourselves cleaned down there. It’s just a flight in that direction,” she continued, pointing through the ash fall in the opposite direction. “See you there?” she added with a grin, turning heel and heading towards Fallarbor’s Pokémon Center in order to retrieve her Braviary so she could make the quick trip back “home”!
