Need some breeding done but can't find anyone else to go to? Want connections to 'mons that you can't have? Then come on over to A Taste of Home, where Kouji can do this and much more!
Located in the far northern reaches of Unova (most specifically in Humilau City), this ranch is managed by the youngest of the Sakuraba siblings, Kouji. The reason why his ranch is located here is due to the fact that Humilau’s climate reminds him the most of Kanto’s Vermillion, hence his reasons for setting up base in the small, seemingly isolated “Resort City of the North”. Instead of the usual sprawling range of green grass, his Ranch is located on a patch of land that is linked to both the beaches that made Humilau famous—as well as a square of greenery that ‘mons can breed and graze in whenever they’re dropped off for breeding purposes.
Also, please be informed that Kouji has the permanent Rare License; therefore he can breed Rare 'mons without having to buy the one-use license. Proof is located: here, even if his Inventory says otherwise; for the Rare License had been sucked into the nether void that eats random items from people's Inventories on here. More proof can be found here, just in case more evidence is required.
Prices are very negotiable, the prices listed below are the baseline amount for either Common / Rare breeding.

This was the first time that he was going to attempt breeding; and with two rare Dragon-types even! He was actually trembling as he read the e-mail message that had arrived with the two feisty little creatures that were now contained in, quite amusingly, Safari Balls. He read about something called “Rare Tax” somewhere of some sort, but he’d get to that later; since he was doing this for one of his affiliates, this hot-tempered teenager who was apparently rolling around Unova and challenging the Gym Circuit that his now-home region also had. Damnit I miss Kanto, but I’ll get back to you someday! He thought as he picked up the two Safari Balls and strode out the back; headed initially towards the beach but changing direction mid-way and heading towards one part of his Ranch that resembled a rocky outcrop, and let the two occupants out.
In a flash of red light, he could see why the hot-tempered teenager wanted to breed them—they were dragons. One of them looked very familiar, since they were native to Unova (looking at the two-headed, foul-tempered little creature) while the other one… sorely reminded him of home as well, it was something he’d only read about! Dang it, I hope I get something good from this, he thought as he then let the two loose. “Hey,” he began, before looking at the leering two-headed creature, “Riku, was it? Be nice,” he said, remembering the nickname that this ferocious thing had. To the other one, he crouched down and whispered, “Well, don’t let him intimidate you, just try and get along okay? I promise this is going to be painless,” he added, before giving it a tickle and a pet.
**breeding Izumi's Male Zweilous and Thomas' Female Dratini**
with
Permission given by Thomas, using Zweilous by way of affiliation
That was his first reaction upon discovering that the two Dragons weren’t able to actually do anything. Wondering if sticking them in the rocky outcrop was a good idea, he then sighed, before getting another idea… he then cautiously approached the area where the two Dragons were, apparently glowering at each other—and gingerly approached the female Dratini, which was apparently too scared to even move. Huh, must have been the sight of the heads… he thought as he slowly crept to where the cute little serpentine ‘mon was. “Okay. Come on over here,” he said gingerly, making sure that he had scooped up the quivering dragon in his arms before backing away—to which ‘Riku’ gave a stare.
“Come on now, follow me,” he said, quickly backing out of the rocky outcrop and heading over to the greener pastures, but still a well distance away from all the other ‘mons that were grazing on the grass—and towards the destination, where a psychedelic-looking mushroom (courtesy of the fire-tempered girl) was waiting. “Well then, come on…” he continued, holding his breath as he set the little dragon down; before watching the Zweilous padding out and apparently being entranced by the scent of said mushroom. To his nostrils, the odor was quite sickening, but what the hell; it was for a cause…
After the two were together, he high-tailed it out of the area as soon as possible, and then hoped for the best!

pening the door to the breeding barn, Jason gagged and covered his nose. "It seems not much has changed since the last time I've been in one of these... Well, the smell definitely hasn't." He thought as he walked into the barn. Being in a barn was so.. dreadful. Depressing. Dreary. All those words that start with the letter "d". It's not that Jason had anything against breeders, but because of his father and his upbringing, they always left him feeling worse than he had felt than when he entered. Jason brought his PokeNav out of his pocket and searched through it for the email detailing the information of the breeder, barn, and egg he was to pick up.
He read the email, glad that he had arrived at the right barn it would have been embarrassing beyond all belief should he been at the wrong one and reread the information about the egg. The egg in question was a Deino egg, a dragon pokemon of the caves; One that enjoyed the darkness rather than the open sky. Jason couldn't really find a good reason why he wanted the egg, yeah it was a dragon, but was that it? Maybe he was turning into a specialist or something of dark types. This would be his second one, but then again, he had two psychics and two ghost, so maybe having two dark types wouldn't make him a specialist. Time will tell what he would become..
The thoughts of the future and what it held weren't really what Jason had come to the barn to do and he was glad to find the egg he had requested already set in an incubator. He looked around for the breeder, but couldn't find them. He shrugged, and not really caring if he met the breeder or not, left the money where the incubator had been with a note claiming he had picked up the egg, it also had his number on it in case the breeder wanted to contact him immediately.

Seeing as she didn’t have enough time left to traverse all the way to Unova (as she was elsewhere at the moment) she quickly stopped over at a computer rental facility, and sat herself down on the chair, being very careful to do so—as it really did sting due to the pain she was still bracing herself to be in for the next couple of weeks. That, and typing one-handed is going to be a big problem, she thought to herself as she clumsily did everything left-handed—opening a browser, typing in her mail service provider’s address, and actually signing in. she’d received an offline message from that “pretty boy” that there was some success with her breeding request—and then knew she had to get the other egg otherwise he’d be left in the toast. She then managed to open the “Compose” window, and it took her a while to type this message:
“Hey there, Pretty Fly,
I got your message; so can you ship that other egg over to where I am? I’ll be attaching the coordinates of the drop-off point; so that you know exactly where it goes. As for the so-called ‘Rare Tax’, I’ll pay up for it, seeing as we’re affiliates—and you just started out anyway, consider this my ‘welcome fee’ to the world of breeding. I’ll be contacting you again if in case I need your services. By the way, how’re the ‘mons I sent you? Are they happy over there? You most probably have the fee with you by the time you read this message.
Regards,
Zu”
She cringed inwardly, before sniggering—who knew that she would have another nickname in so short a time? Stop calling me Zu… but it’s unavoidable, Pretty Fly… she thought in the back of her mind as she hit “Send” and watched the message wink out of her Inbox window. She then pulled herself up and off the chair, repeating the entire clumsy process, before quickly rushing over to send over the required ‘rare tax’ coverage fee.
He’d been busy in the back room of the breeding ranch, trying to get some more materials to get everything off the ground, when he thought he heard the front door open and close—and then, he decided to check out front, and was surprised to see that one of the incubators that held on of the two eggs was gone—yet there was a note and some money in its place! He then scooped it up and read through the note—when he heard a ping on his computer—two pings, as a matter of fact. He then sat down and read through the messages—one came from the local money exchange, notifying him that there was some money being sent his way—and the other was from the fire-tempered little girl, who decided to call herself “Zu”. Well, better than calling her by another nickname I have in mind for her… he began with a grin, looking back out towards the Ranch and seeing that the newly-acquired Ponyta was literally enjoying itself, running across the grass and looking for another ‘mon to chase around.
He then quickly opened up a new window, and then sent a message;
“Heya Zu,
Don’t call me Pretty Guy. Well I can’t say anything else in my defense because it’s slightly true; but consider the other egg sent to your location. When you read this message it may have already arrived in your hands, so enjoy and good luck. I’ve also got to say, your Zweilous has a bit of a pride issue—is it really that uncontrollable?
See ya,
Kouji”
After he sent the message, he quickly went back to the storehouse where the Incubators were kept, and then quickly made his way back to the Nursery, and he quickly (yet carefully) hefted the other egg from its lone nest, and then very gently placed it inside the Incubator, and then called up the delivery service to get this extremely valuable shipment out and on its way.
--accepting the following values:
60 dots from Jason, 30 dots from Izumi to cover Rare tax--
This time he was going to try and breed two Water-types—the only thing that was slightly out of place here was the little fact that one of the two was something he’d heard a lot about, in jokes, in books even, on the Internet—and he was going to try and see if he could get something done on the first try! He knew that breeding two Rares together was a bad idea (he flash backed to both Riku and the poor quivering Dratini from last time) so he decided to try out this attempt with a Mudkip; and a Sealeo courtesy of the fire-tempered brat. Of course I’m not going to say that to her face, I just want to try and breed something else… he thought, realizing that it was a good time to learn from the two Water-type ‘mons that were in the same Egg group apparently (at least according to his studies).
He’d also gotten a message from the fire-tempered girl that someone else was going to be picking up the offspring of whatever came out of the union, and he noted down the name, and then picked up the two Pokeballs—interestingly, this Mudkip had come to Izumi in a normal Pokeball and not a Safari ball, so he could only imagine how this interaction would go. Walking out of the back of the breeding ranch’s “front desk” and heading towards the strip of beach that he technically “owned”, he then let out the two ‘mons in a simultaneous burst of red light. One of the red light beams coalesced into something that resembled a walrus-type, but was not yet one—whereas the other beam of light was much smaller—and definitely a thousand times cuter.
“Well then,” he began to the two, before gently letting them explore the sandy area and the eventual fenced-in part of the sea, “have at it, and I know you two are going to get along, because you’re Water-types, hm? Don’t go near that dopey idiot,” he continued, pointing towards the Slowpoke that was seemingly sitting on the makeshift bamboo pier that he had to make in a rush just to keep the Dopey ‘mon satisfied—and then continued, “He doesn’t like being bothered with his fishing. Just stay over here in this area, and I’ll know once it’s done, okay?” he said, petting the Sealeo on its head, which then gave a clap and then tossing a piece of Pokefeed to the Mudkip, which happily jumped up and then began nibbling on it.

Yumi had organised a deal with the owner of the ranch, she had already sent over her payment for the egg she was gonna pick up, a catcher's pack from the sales that popped up around christmas. Right now was just a formality of picking the egg up. Heading up to whatever the ranch had for a counter or place of business, she kindly called over the owner with a sweet smile.
He was just about to look up from the apparent package that he’d received (it had been delivered just a few minutes ago by someone from the courier service) when he heard a female voice coming from the other side of the counter. He then straightened up; and then saw that he wasn’t alone—and that she was inquiring about the Mudkip egg that she’d gotten. Of course, Kouji gave a bow, before saying, “Ah, yes, it’s right here… I was just fixing it—and I’ve gotten the package that must have come from… you, Miss Yumi?” he asked, hoping that he was right on the guess! He then made a secret mental note to himself to avoid breeding rares for now because not only was the upkeep expensive, the Rare Tax was making him dip into his measly bank account more and more as of late.
“Alright, here it is,” he said, ducking down once more and then coming back up with an incubator hat housed a single egg. “Take care of him, alright?” he said with another grin, before hearing a pinging noise coming from his computer. Apparently there were more requests for breeding now; and a few moments later he heard the clunking noise of his transporter as three more Pokeballs dropped in—apparently someone had requested for a Tyrogue, and the fire-tempered brat was sending over some more ‘mons for him to use. Well I’m sorry I’m a bit lagging in the scene, but I will catch up to everyone, he thought as he read the message over—and saw that he would be having a visitor over once again for at least one of the eggs that would come from the breeding attempt to acquire a Tyrogue.
He was secretly lucky that he already had irina, his Vullaby—but how would it take to one of the powerhouses of the sky, another native to Unova, the Valiant Pokemon known as Braviary? He then shook his head and sighed as he carried out the other three Pokeballs and sent out two of them in a flash of red light—he watched as the first one formed into a cute, squat little pudgy ‘mon that had yet to see the world—but was a female, at least he could tell—and the other one was most definitely male—and then attempted to kick him on sight, causing him to duck.
“Ouch, watch it!” he yelped out of surprise, before resisting the urge to roll his eyes. Instead, he then gave the smaller one a pat on the head and said, “Well, you can feel free to spar or go fight anywhere before getting to it, just don’t try to destroy the ranch now, okay?” before silently backing away and then attempting to locate Irina, who was apparently stumbling around somewhere. Finally finding her, he secretly sighed, before saying, “Alright, you can come out now,” and let out the occupant of the third Pokeball in a flash of red light—and saw that there was a proud-looking creature within. “Sora, right?” he began, before giving the eagle ‘mon the once-over. “Don’t be too crazy on Irina now. Go on now!” he said, secretly thankful that at least, one of the breeding attempts was going to be between ‘mons of the same species—and the same region.

These were the first words that Kouji could only say; while one of the breedings was successful, the other one wasn't... and he could only scratch his head as to why it was that way. Also, he had received a memo coming from somewhere stating that the two birds he bred were slapped with a "Rare Tax"; but according to his exact and precise research, the two birds weren't even rare. Okay what the heck just happened... he thought to himself as he quickly dug through the storehouse and extricated one of the overpowering psychedelic mushrooms, and could only scrunch up his nose out of disgust. Apparently the Makuhita and Hitmonlee didn't go down too well, so it was time to bring out the rescue drugs, as they say.
"Well then," he said once more with a sigh, going out to where the two Fighting-types were, apparently having a glaring stand-off with each other, he then placed the mushroom down in an area before walking over to where they were. I don't want to seem to be the bad guy but... he thought once more as he approached the Hitmonlee, who was too proud to give in. "Come on over he--" he began, before it aimed a kick in his direction! "Ah hell!" he shouted, quickly running--but it was apparently a decoy to lead him to where the "psychedelic mushroom" was. The little Makuhita then followed suit, very curious to see what would happen to this harebrained human who even tried placing her with the overpowering, dominating 'lee.
"Well then," he said once more a few moments later, flopping over in the grass as the two were drawn to the scent of the mushroom, "let's try this one more time..." he trailed off, quickly picking himself up and making a mad dash towards the outhouse and slamming the door shut, hoping for the best!
