Winter season was a very dangerous time for many pokemon, especially ones that were meant to be outside but struggled with such a thing. A specific pokemon was part of a swarm pack, usually showing up in this specific temperature to make full advantage of her body type, but she had an unusual problem in that she did not deal well with the cold at all. Her body would often tense up in the weather and her mind would turn to mush, making it very difficult for her to focus or get anything done. She was going with her brothers and sisters but easily got left behind because the weather made her hard at focusing or hearing and also being seen. The other pokemon had little idea she even went missing when she disappeared, which only made situations worst as she struggled to find them also.
Luckily for her, at that time she was stuck near a breeder named Blitz who saw the pokemon and immediately felt terrible. He knew a lot about Snorunt and their typing, so he knew their love of ice but this pokemon just looked miserable. She had a big snot bubble in her nose and tears filled her eyes. She was also continually shivering when he spotted her and he wanted to help as best he could but found it a bit difficult at the moment.
He took off his jacket and gave it to her but it didn't seem to warm her up at all. And he on the other hand began to freeze with it off which didn't help... He tried to pick her up and hug her but she resisted as she didn't know him. Yet, the resistance wasn't even too great as she always felt weaker around this weather so she gave up easily. His only thought and hope was that he could possibly catch her. He took out a pokeball and held it near her, hoping she'd go in. It was their only hope, she was freezing and the pokemon would likely keep her warm.
He tried to reason with her, saying this to the poor Snorunt to help her out but she also looked a bit hesitant. His hope though was that the cold would win out... He gave her two choices here... Freeze or join the ball. He hoped she'd choose the latter.

Brr... Brr... Br... Quinn had been freezing her tail off in the season of December in Sinnoh and she honestly did not know if she could survive the entire year like this or even do more than one year. She had started her journey in Fall, excited as the weather as good and she was happy. But now the sun rarely ever came up and the weather was never above freezing. She had a huge struggle dealing with it for a month, sometimes struggling even in that week so she just did not see how she could keep it up for the year. There just seemed to be no hope at all and this idea really bugged her more than anything else as she really wanted to enjoy her experience in Sinnoh but found it so hard when she could not help keep warm.
The season also led to other pokemon causing havoc and creating trouble. On in particular was a mischievous Snorunt who loved the cold and also seeing others freeze. When she spotted the trainer, she could only think of one thing. Making her more miserable. And with that thought, she immediately tried to step it up, creating snow and wind that would freeze Quinn more. She felt the chill in the left and right of her and at first did not see where it was coming from, not knowing how to deal with it until she eventually spotted the pokemon.
Oh, she wasn't a happy camper there when she met the culprit. And within seconds, she took out a pokeball and decided to teach it a lesson. Out came Babe, her Bisharp who was getting used to his new size and strength and he met the Snorunt face on. She tried to keep it up some more, sending an icy wind at him but he took the damage easily being strong against ice moves. She saw that as a threat and tried to follow through with an icy wind, but before she could get it through... She met two slashes in her chest and fell on the ground, unable to battle.
At that point, Quinn threw a pokeball and hoped to capture her.

SNORUNT Male Moody Headbutt, Icy Wind, Protect, Leer
Vesta had called again. This time about a Snorunt. Piper, as usual, had been happy to hear from the other woman, and glad that the request could be more quickly completed than the previous one for a Beldum. The search there was still ongoing on that front, and going off on a hunt for the little ice type would be both a welcome vacation and a way to more efficiently assist her new friend.
Done up again in cold weather gear, Piper trooped out with Winston and Vermont, leaving the ever eager Finna behind this time because she simply couldn't handle the cold. Tips in her phone network of breeder and trainers had pointed her in the right direction - apparently there was a bit of a Snorunt convention going on in the area of a recent snowstorm - and Piper waded through nearly a foot of the white stuff. Winston led the way, hopping and leaping about, as Vermont rode in Piper's arms, ears twitching as she looked around in awe. The search didn't take very long.
"Choo!" came Winston's excited alert, and Piper looked up and to her right to spy about ten Snorunt playing around a fallen tree.
She let Vermont down and both she and Winston went off to join them instantly, Piper watching them from a distance, at first, but then moving closer to offer snacks as the Pokemon got to know each other and began to play.
It ended up being Vermont who found which Snorunt who come to be Vesta's, in the end. The Cleffa apparently had adopted Finna's method of making friends, and managed to find the one Snorunt in the bunch who seemed more than willing to indulge in a little friendly sparring. While Winston was getting swamped with playful, chattering Pokemon, Vermont and her latest companion moved off to the side near Piper.
The Snorunt opened with Leer. Vermont used Copy Cat and followed suit. A Headbutt from the Snorunt left Vermont reeling only long enough for her to bounce back up and use Charm, which had the other Pokemon hesitating with every attack, holding back Icy Winds that would have chilled the little Cleffa and giving her more than enough room to pepper him with Pounds. She did get knocked off her feet a few more times, but the fight was all in good fun, and the duo came hobbling back to Piper afterwards, Vermont the apparent victor though it seemed they considered it a tie.
While Winston continued to play with the other Snorunt, Piper set out more snack for the two and patched them up a bit with a potion.
"If you like to battle, a friend of mine would really like to train you," Piper suggested softly. The Snorunt's interest perked, he played with Vermont a while longer before it was time for Piper and company to head back to town. The Snorunt made to follow them, after what appeared to be a farewell to his friends, and Piper smiled and withdrew a Pokeball to catch him.

CATCHING
Species: Snorunt Gender: Male Ability: Inner Focus Moves Ice Fang | Bite Protect | Double Team
Sinnoh, definitely one of the more remarkable regions when it came to scenery. The towering spire of Mt. Coronet loomed over the region like the great horn of some savage beast. Aeon was making his way up one of the winding paths lining the mountain’s rocky surface. There had been word of a large number of Snorunt in the area. He really couldn’t help getting more Pokemon for his ranch.
Shifu trotted along behind him, the Meditite not being bothered too much by the chill in the air. Aeon himself had his scarf pulled up over his nose and mouth, the wind being a bit too chill for the Orre native. If it weren’t for the prospect of a new type of Pokemon to breed, he wouldn’t be in this region at all.
It didn’t take long before the two were ambushed. At first there was just a faint rustling in the grass nearby. Aeon paused, but when it stopped and didn’t continue he wrote it off as just being the wind before continuing on. That was the moment one of the same Pokemon he was after launched out of the grass. While the Snorunt was aiming for Aeon’s leg, Shifu was close enough it didn’t take much to intercept and take the Bite instead.
The attack was rather weak, ending up with Shifu standing there while the wild Snorunt chewed on his arm to little effect. He looked up at Aeon, annoyance clearly written on his face as he held his arm out. The breeder blinked a moment as he looked at the rather comical scene before letting out a small laugh.
“Just…Force Palm it or something,” he said through the dying laughter to the now more annoyed Meditite. This was part of what he loved about having Pokemon; the ones he managed to get always managed to end up entertaining him one way or another. As Shifu did whatever he wanted to get the Snorunt off him, Aeon pulled a Pokeball from his bag.
“Medi,” Shifu still sounded annoyed, but gave a nod to Aeon before turning his attention to the Snorunt still gnawing on his arm. The Pokemon was trying to growl and sound ferocious and terrifying; but to the Meditite it seemed rather unintimidating. Before doing anything, Shifu used Calm Mind to bolster his power. With that complete, he was able to set his palm against the Snorunt’s forehead with deceptive calmness. The Force Palm attack easily dislodged the Pokemon from his arm, and both he and Aeon watched as the Snorunt rolled a short ways away into a snow drift.
Once the Pokemon’s rolling had stopped, it just lay there. They watched, waiting for it to get up and continue attacking, but it still just lay there. Aeon walked over and gently nudged it over with his foot, and saw the Snorunt had been completely knocked out by just the one attack.
“Well…that was easy,” he said a bit stunned as he tossed the Pokeball, watching as the unconscious Snorunt was pulled inside.
Tsuki meandered along the mountain paths of Sinnoh’s Mt. Coronet. To any normal person, she would look horribly underdressed. The Ghost specialist didn’t really feel the cold though. Exposure to so many Ghost types had desensitized her to the cold chill. So she continued to meander, gleaning a bit of warmth from the Litwick clinging to the top of her bag as he napped. Her Shuppet, Max, floated alongside her as usual. {I’m hungry,} he whined in Tsuki’s ear.
“Oh? Now what happened to ‘Ghosts don’t get hungry’ from yesterday?” She was used to his little antics like this. He was always contradicting himself to get what he wanted, and she’d learned a long time ago how best to counter it.
Before the Shuppet could make a rebuttal, a flurry of snow kicked up, biting at the girl’s skin. She threw her gloved arms up to protect her face from the small icy particles until they died down. “What the heck was that?” Tsuki sounded rather indignant at having so suddenly had a miniature snow storm hit her.
{It was a Powder Snow,} Max said as he floated around, scanning the area, {I think it came from over here.} He floated up over a drift of snow, large enough to conceal a small Pokemon easily. Tsuki quickly followed, her long stockings keeping the cold sting of the snow off her legs.
Once beyond the snow, she could see Max hovering around a Snorunt. The small Pokemon had its back to her, but seemed to be pouting. Curious, she looked at Max, “Has it said anything?” The Shuppet merely shook his head, continuing to hover around the Snorunt.
Tsuki kneeled down behind the small Pokemon. “Are you alright little Snorunt?” The trainer’s question was answered with a wail from the Pokemon. Quickly, Max translated what he could from the Snorunt’s barely comprehensible cries.
{Her mother went off somewhere with a trainer and hasn’t come back,} Max spoke rather apathetically. He really wasn’t fond of playing translator for random wild Pokemon.
“Why don’t you come with me then, I’ll bet you’re hungry,” Tsuki smiled warmly.
{So her mother was captured, big whoop, no reason for charity.} Max’s callous attitude only caused the Snorunt to start wailing again. Tsuki gave the Shuppet a rather heated glare. “Max, shut it.”
Before Tsuki could do anything else to keep the Shuppet quiet, the little Snorunt had gotten up and run toward her. She buried her little face into Tsuki’s leg, still crying pretty hard. Tsuki couldn’t help but pat the small Pokemon gently before pulling out a ball. “If you come with me you won’t ever have to worry about being left alone again,” she cooed, patting the small Pokemon still. The Snorunt nodded against her leg, and Tsuki gently tossed the ball at her, the light quickly pulling her inside the ball.
Fei sneezed, feeling the cold seep into her bones. It's a good thing she decided to go with male clothes today, or else she might have died. It's really unfortunate that she doesn't have anymore thicker clothes, but those are expensive and she doesn't have the money.
It doesn't matter, she was here to see the snow ans snow she will see. She still felt bad for being unable to get that Vulpix egg for her current Pokemon, so the next best thing for Christmas is to see snow, right?
"D-do you guys like it?" she asked, teeth chattering slightly with the cold. The snow is pretty though, and Fei can't bring herself to regret coming here, her companions by her side. The two Pokemon beside her nodded, but worry and concern were written all over their faces. While they are happy for the gift, the intention that Fei have shown, the blue spot that are starting to show on the girl's skin is not very reassuring. The Vibrava huffed, using Dragonbreath to keep the girl warm, but being low leveled and not very well trained, the fire died away soon after, even though it's dragon fire.
Snowy, the Prinplup, let out a worried chirp. With a nod, she and the Vibrava decided to execute an idea together, that is, to bring Fei back to civilization, somewhere warm before the girl freeze to death.
The Vibrava clasped Fei's shoulders, who let out a 'meep' of surprise, too shocked and cold to ask anything. Before Skyrie could take off, however, a sound rustled near them, and it was Snowy who heard it. A blue glow as Snowy powered up with Agility, and the Prinplup tackled at the source of the sound with Drill Peck, finishing whatever it is with a Whirlpool, trapping the wild Pokemon that could, or could not have attacked them.
"Prin-prinplup!" The Prinplu commanded Skyrie to go ahead anyway, to bring Fei back to warmth, and the Vibrava nodded, taking flight.
"Wait, wait!" Fei called out, voice harsh and nearly gone from the cold, fumbling with what she assumed to be Snowy's pokeball, trying to aim at the Prinplup to return it to the pokeball from the air. It missed, and hit the body of the fallen wild Pokemon instead.
Fei blinked, taking a look at the pokeball, realization dawning on her face. This isn't Snowy's pokeball! She fumbled with another, this time guessing right and successfully returning her second Pokemon back, as Skyrie take her higher and higher and away to a warm place.
Arceus knows they all need it, pretty snow or not.

“Keep those fires burning, you two,” Ramona told her companions, feeling the chill of the cave as one would feel the moistness of a liquid through a latex glove. Most people would be cold from being in such a place for a prolonged period of time, but Ramona had the flames of passion and youth to keep her warm. Of course, having a Charmeleon and Chimchar in such close proximity didn’t hurt either. She blinked, looking to her sides: there were only two Pokemon with her. She had brought along three.
“Remix?” she called, looking back for the Ground/Rock type, finding it a few yards back eagerly digging into the earth below. “Remix,” Ramona sighed, clicking her tongue as she walked back to tear the Larvitar away from its buffet, “I know it’s tempting, but we’re not here for that. You can eat all you want later, but right now we’ve got a Snorunt to catch.” Yes, that was what they were there for. Indeed, she already had one, but more Snorunt couldn’t hurt, right? Especially so Aria could have another friend. Oh, there was one now! A slow smile made its way across Ramona’s face as her eyes spied a small, conical-looking creature toddling down the path. Before anything else could happen, a stream of fire promptly engulfed the ice-type.
“Beat, what the hell?!” she exclaimed, looking down at the Charmeleon who merely shrugged in response. “Oh gosh, I hope you didn’t hurt the poor thing too badly…” she muttered, running up to the prone Snorunt’s body and tapping a Pokeball against its form. “In any case, we’ve gotta get to the Pokemon Center, stat.”

“Dimushka? Are you sure that you can help round most of them back up to their caves? They are so many that they might be too much for you and your pokemon.”
Zernebog smirked at his grandmother and raised an eyebrow. ”I wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t sure I would be able to do it, Babushka. I know better than to risk our home out of arrogance and pride.”
“If you’re sure, Dimushka.” His grandmother bit her lip worriedly while her trusty Abomasnow and Absol stared at him with dubious eyes. “Are you sure you don’t need our help to drive them off our area of the mountain range?”
”Yes, Babushka.” Despite his grandmother’s worry, Zernebog looked completely confident. ”I am. Besides, I need you and Dedushka to hold down the fort while mom is away on business. We can’t have it swarmed by those Snorunts. It would be hell to thaw out all the ice like we had to do a decade ago during the last severe swarming of ice pokemon.”
“Very well.” The grandmother chuckled and slapped his back. “Come back safe, Dimushka. And you and Rion better give those Snorunt an ass-whupping they’ll never forget!”
”Oh don’t worry, we will.” Zernebog chuckled as well as he watched his grandmother and her pokemon finally leave the vicinity. Well, he was glad to know that his family trusted him to do this much, at least.
Once his grandmother and her pokemon were out of sight, he then began to systematically release all of the pokemon on his person at this very moment with him. Light was spat out from his pokeballs and solidified into the forms of a large black winged dragon, a blue and black bipedal jackal, a blue and black humanoid rooster, a small orange monkey with fire on his butt, a small blue and cream shrew with orange spots on his back, and lastly a large black and white metal creature that was floating off of the ground.
The jackal looked a tad uncomfortable with the present weather while the rooster, monkey, and shew were shivering violently within the bitter icy gale-force winds that buffeted the mountain range constantly, made worse by the winter weather despite their inner heats’ best attempts to stave off the cold. Only the dragon and the metal creature remained unaffected, and that was because the former was used to the bitter cold despite being a fire type and the latter was a logical machine that didn’t bother to complain or show weakness about such things.
Chuckling to himself, Zernebog took out a few scarves from his bag and placed them around shivering pokemon, with each one giving him a grateful nod when he wrapped it around their necks. Once he was done with that, and then gestured for his pokemon to follow him down the steep slopes, where the swarm of Snorunts was beginning to climb up.
”Positions!” Zernebog ordered. The assembled pokemon quickly took their places on the cliff, with Diomedes and Hyperion falling back as they both took to the skies. The two of them then started lobbing balls of aura and fire respectively, smacking the first wave of them off of the mountain due to sheer surprise.
They managed to do the same to the second wave that was climbing up the cliff before the third one finally wised up and started to dodge them while climbing, seemingly multiplying themselves by creating multiple afterimages… not that it helped those who were hit by the balls of energy. But it did allow the thining numbers to advance further on.
That was when the rest of Zernebog’s pokemon began attacking. Flame attacks and the odd concussive wave of telekinetic force began flying, removing more and more of the Snorunts from the invading swarm and thinning them out. It didn’t take long before leader of the swarms finally appeared, easily barreling through all of the attacks of the defenders with a thin hexagonal shield that managed to dissipate all of them.
Unwilling to quit though, Helios stopped it from advancing by spitting out a tornado of fire at it as soon as its shield vanished, trapping it in a vortex of flames. Once it was trapped in the flames, Hyperion took the chance to fly over to the center of the vortex and unleased a torrent of his signature blue flames, severely burning the Snorunt inside and removing the vortex at the same time.
Overcome with pain, the Snorunt became unconscious from the combination of super-effective attacks from Hyperion and Helios and slumped over, her black form standing out amidst the ice. Upon seeing their leader in such a sorry state, the rest of the Snorunts finally fled.
The battle had ended with a decisive victory. Zernebog smirked and stood over the form of the Snorunt that had managed to make it the farthest.
”To the victor goes the spoils, as they say.” Zernebog chuckled evilly as he tossed a pokeball at the downed Snorunt and watched as it was sucked into the pokeball….
