”Hm. Messages.” Altair grinned wryly. ”I think I know what this is about.”

The blond haired man pulled up the old template he had been using for these sorts of transactions....

Altair grinned in amusement. "Let me guess... it's from the white haired man, right?"

Altair nodded and stood up. "The pokemon to be bred are already in their proper rooms?"

"Of course."

"Good." Altaur sighed and stood up from his seat. "Time to work my magic again. Let's go~"

"You and your matchmaker tendencies...."

Altair rolled his eyes and just walked out of the room.

"Is the breeder in charge here?"

Zernebog asked as he walked through the door like he owned the place. Considering that over half of the breedings done by the breeder in charge so far involved his pokemon for one reason or another, he had reason to act like that.

"Nope." The cashier said. "He's off doing important stuff for the job he's forced himself into part-time for."

Zernebog chuckled. "Figures."

He then sighed and then walked to the counter. "Alright. To business then. I'll be taking the Clamperl egg and one of the Shellos eggs. 40 dots all in all, right?"

"As per our deal, yeah pretty much."

"Good." Zernebog grinned. "And remember to leave a Shellos egg for one Prof. Shelena Io , alright? I'll be asking her to come here in a few days to pick it up. It'll be the payment for breeding the Clamperl."

"Alright. Got it." The cashier nodded.

"I heard you had Shellos eggs for sale," Aeon said first thing after walking through the door, "I'm in need of some more water types, so will 15 dots be enough to pay for an egg?"

It wasn't entirely true that he needed more water types, but he did want more water types since some of his Pokemon with fire type moves tended to be rather excitable. The last thing he needed was a house fire when the weather out was still rather cold.

[Prof. Shelena Io]

Io was a very busy woman and in her haste to take care of the Pokemon lending she did found an e-mail she missed from a day ago. It was from a Stavros and by the way she was reading it there was an egg waiting on her in exchange for the Pokemon rental instead of cash. .... Well, that was a bit of a downer that was until she read further finding it was a Shello's. Luckily the breeder had his contact information in his signature and she immediately called to have him send it as well as her Clamperl back to her through the Storage system and she'd have Rain pick it up for her. "Thank you, Mr. Stavros, it was a pleasure doing business with you, and that Romanov."

”No problem, Mademoiselle Io. I will send the egg and your Clamperl back in due order.” Altair grinned as he spoke through the phone. "I hope that you have a wonderful day.”

With that, he turned off his phone. Just in time too, as his cousin burst into the office.

"Cuz, there's a buyer for that last Shellos egg we got. Oh, and you-know-who picked up his order too."

"Ah, yes. Tell the person that I will have the last egg out shortly.” Altair said as he began to head for the door.

"Will do."

Some time later....

"Here is your egg, monsieur.” Altair smiled pleasantly as he handed over the Shellos egg to Aeon. "That will be 15 dots. Now, if you will follow my assistant he will help you finalize the papers for the egg.”

He gestured towards his female assistant, who waved shyly.

Altair turned around from his chair, an eyebrow raised as he stared at his cousin. "Oh? Let's hear it, my friend."

The cousin grinned. "You only have to do one breeding for this week. It's been a real slow one, you see. That means you get more time for yourself this time, bro~! Maybe now you can take that vacation that you're actually supposed to be doing."

Altair chuckled as he stood up from his chair. "I suppose that is good news for me. I could use a slow week to finally finish the song that's been bugging me since December. So what am I going to breed anyway?"

"Bisharp and Mienfoo." The cousin shrugged. "I'll tell you what it's for later. It's a bit complicated to explain and might need the papers and stuff from the client organization."

"...Organization?" Altair blinked. Okay, that was a new one.

"Like I said, I'll explain later. Now work your magic, bro~!"

Altair looked at his two pokemon with a small frown. Said pokemon looked utterly impassive at their failure despite the embarrassing nature of it. But he knew them well enough to know what they were really feeling about the situation.

Perhaps there was something about Javert's personality that required him to use the mushrooms so much? It was an interesting theory to pursue, if nothing else. Something to occupy his time along with the other big thing that he had been asked to manage.

"Well, I guess it's time to bring out the mushrooms again." Altair chuckled as he pulled out the yellow mushrooms from his pocket and tossed one to his Bisharp. "That should help you out, bud."

Evita's face twitched as she struggled not to laugh and keep a straight face. Evolved or not, Javert was still mechanical as ever in bed... though she swore that she was seeing a little fire lately. Might've just been the trick of the light though.

Crimson eyes looked down at the small green and blue pass in his hands holding it reverently like a theater award or even a badge. This was it. The first real proof of his developing skills as a breeder. Holding it felt just as sweet as a standing ovation from the crowd after an exhilarating performance.

It made feel driven to do more than he had ever done before. More alive, even. Perhaps this was the new thing he had been looking for all along. Maybe Rachel and Shelby were right after all; he needed to find other things for himself aside from performing... and maybe this was it. Pimp or not, getting this license had solidified his resolve to-

"Hey cuz!" Altair jolted, the sudden interruption from his thoughts having more of an effect due to how deep they were. "Hah, getting all introspective again, aren't ya?"

Altair turned around and gave his cousin a flat stare. "What is it?"

His cousin grinned cheekily. "Well, Mr. Overachiever Hotshot, someone apparently heard of you getting that shiny new license, so you just got two requests from the mail. Go check your email in your phone."

"...What? Already?" Altair blinked. "But I just got this."

The cousin shrugged. "Hey, I dunno how or why. I just deliver the news. Now go stare at your phone and work your magic!" He then left the room, grinning.

Altair shook his head and sighed in exasperation before taking out his cellphone and reading this week's requests. Back to work. No rest for the wicked, as his best friend would say.
