So it was time.
It was most definitely time.
After several weeks of indecision, Izumi had finally made up her choice and knew just where to be able to corner… well, talk to Josh in a more private setting. Since Shui was out of the question (as she’d already brought him over to her Izakaya once, and she knew that the trick wasn’t going to work a second time around) she knew that it was going to be a toss-up between the movie marathon or the overnight thing at the Bubble Dome.
She couldn’t figure out if Josh was game to be listening to her talking while watching a movie; so in the end she’d decided to take the overnight tour over at the Dome; otherwise known as Kouji’s other ‘work place’. She knew that he’d been bothering her for quite a long time to actually visit the place; so she figured, why not humor the Breeder?
The official start of the date was at sunset, since the place was going to be rented out to them for an entire night (little did she knew that there were going to be other people who’d won at the Date Auction heading over there, but of course she had no idea about this) so she’d decided to wear something a bit more…formal, for the occasion.
Knowing that he was going to be pretty tired of seeing her in red—along with the biker shorts—she then decided to look for something in the shopping district, and had picked out something that she’d hoped would give him a nosebleed, at the very least. Since she was still rather uncomfortable with the notion of wearing anything that had heels, she stuck with her flats; they were a lot more comfortable to deal with anyway.
She knew that her left shoulder was a little…bare, so she decided to wear a white shawl over it, because hell it was so cold! Well, contrasting is a good idea… or is it?! She thought to herself as she waited outside the entrance of the Bubble Dome, looking around and wondering if he was going to show up on the ‘ride from Hell’ or just suddenly appear. She was holding a small bag that contained her phone, wallet, as well as several containment units—you could never go wrong without having a couple of companions on hand. So it’s going to be tonight… don’t panic, don’t lose it. You’ve been practicing too long in the shower. This has to count for something! She continued to herself in the back of her mind, looking around and wondering where her companion for the evening was.

To be quite honest, Josh was surprised that anyone had actually paid in that auction for him at all. I mean, why would anyone? He wasn't really that high on himself in terms of his looks, or his... Well, possibility of attraction to women. So it came as a surprise to him when not only had someone bidded on him, but it would turn out to be Izumi. Of course... Kouji would later take him aside to have a talk with him, so things were explained a little bit better. He was nervous about the day that Izumi would confess, he didn't know what to say to her... How to say it to her. It was odd that the date was starting at sunset... But apparently, it was for the entire night. Quite a long time to stay in a bubble dome, but he wasn't complaining. Still, if Izumi had wanted to go out on a date, she could have just asked. I mean, he obliged her last time. There was no need to spend on him, but... If she wanted an extravagant date like this, he wouldn't complain.
Josh was... Well, not as formally dressed as Izumi was. He wore a clean white dress shirt, with a black tie on. He wore black dress pants, though retained his boots under them. He was trying to look sharp while still looking comfortable, but without going too formal.
Josh would meet her at the annoited place and would smile as he looked her up and down. "You look quite... Beautiful" He would remark with a chuckle. No nosebleeds yet, it seemed. "If you'd wanted a date, Zu, you could have asked" He would snark. "Alas, you set to go?"

The cold wind was starting to pick up; and Izumi could only look around rather desperately—what if he didn’t show up? She’d already left quite a number of voice-mail messages on his number, casually reminding him about the Date Auction (and how she was the one that had snagged him for the date that was happening per se) but what she left out was the fact that she was going to be wearing a different dress this time around. Once she heard his familiar dulcet tones, she then looked up and felt a blush creep across her face at the complement he’d tossed her way—shame his nose wasn’t bleeding due to what she was showing.
“Well, I figured, take a break from all the varying shades of red and wear something to actually complement your color scheme,” she remarked with a chuckle in her voice, before looking around once again—hoping that the Lightning Mouse wouldn’t come out and spoil the evening that she’d already mentally prepared for. “Shall we get going? I heard from Kouji that this place is rather large… and that you should’ve worn something that’s easier to remove, there’re wading sections in the Dome, from what I remember him informing me about the general layout of the place,” she added with a grin, before extending her hand for him to take, so that they could get going with the date itself!

He laughed a bit and nodded. "Funny that the time you decide to pick an outfit that goes with my colors, I decide to show up in something other then black" He said, referring to his white dress shirt. He was still curious as to why Zu had gone to these lengths for this so called "Date Auction" but that was Josh's fault for, albeit being pressured to do so, signing up for the damned auction anyway. "Yeah, let's get going" Josh would respond, looking over at Izumi when she would ask her question. He would look her up and down. Despite the colors not matching his like she wanted, she still looked great, he thought. He wasn't nosebleeding yet, but perhaps eventually Izumi would get it out of him. All she had to do was believe. Don't stop believin, Izumi.
"I'm all good in these, I'm glad I wore this instead of that black suit then" He would remark with a laugh. "Wadey sections? I've never been here so I have no idea what's going on" He would admit, casually shrugging.
Lightning waited within the confines of his Pokeball to spoil Izumi's fun.

“Hey, at least we complement each other’s colors, not clash like what, all the time we’re together outside of formal occasions like this?” she began with a retort, lightly elbowing the closest part of him that she could reach. “At least you showed up. I’ve heard weirder stories about these date auctions… you could imagine my shock when I saw your name up there. So… yeah. I took a chance,” she said in a quieter tone, looking downwards and unable to resist the fact that she was now blushing to all hell. “Anyways, come on, let’s get going in there,” she added, quickly tugging at his arm; in order for them to be able to get a move on into the premises.
Unlike the Izakaya (which she knew was being rented out for the moment as well for the Date Auction as another preferred location for those who’d joined), the Bubble Dome was more on the subdued side—except for the fact that the huge glass done towered above everything else, as if commanding its presence to be noticed at once by any and all who visited Tyntill. Now that they’d managed to find the entrance, all it took was for her reaching into her small bag and pulling out two passes and showing them to the guard on duty, who quickly opened the gates for them, allowing them to step inside.
“Come on, let’s go,” she said quietly, looking around and seeing that the colorful fish tanks were illuminated just so—but these were just the normal tanks containing the normal species of fishies; not the ones where the Pokémon were swimming through without a care in the world.
“I hope you can stand all the water,” she added with a chuckle in her voice.

He couldn't help but laugh a bit, but nodded to her joke, nudging her back playfully. "Aye, I suppose" He said. "I guess it's good to be a little different. Sorry for showing up in semi formal instead of a full blown penguin suit. Because if I was showing up in the penguin suit, I was bringing Lightning and he'd be in the penguin suit too" He would crack. "Y'know, you guys really seem to have an... On and off relationship. What's up with that?" He asked. "Sometimes you like him, sometimes you hate him. Hell, Yumi always seems to get along with him, so I know he's not just hostile to everyone. At my birthday, he was on Yumi's shoulder when I came in" He would add. "Yeah... I actually signed up via pressure. I didn't actually expect anyone to bid, and I figured I'd just kill my own self esteem doing so" He said, chuckling. "Still, I'm happy you did, even if you didn't have to. I mean, you could have just asked for a second date, after all" He added.
As she tugged on his arm, he would do what she wanted earlier and take her hand, as they started walking. He looked around curiously at the Bubble Dome, as he hadn't been here before. "Huh... I've hardly seen actual fish around in the world. Generally it's just Pokemon" He would muse aloud.

“As long as our clothes don’t clash them I’m fine with it. Took me a while before I decided on this dress,” Izumi remarked, showing him the black one-shoulder dress that she was wearing that reached down to pretty much her knees. “I wasn’t exactly counting on it to be just one-shoulder instead of the norm for my dresses…plus it’s a bit shorter… but then again, as long as I don’t look ridiculous in it then I’m game,” she added with a grin, before turning and finally addressing his inquiry about her and his Pikachu’s relationship.
“Well… I don’t know, myself. Just that… don’t zap me with electricity. At least give me a shout beforehand so I can prepare myself,” she remarked, before feeling his hand lace in between hers—and the blush fest would commence.
Now that they had passed through the main entrance, the first few things that had greeted them were glass tanks, molded in all manner of shape and form. But instead of seeing Water-types within them, what she saw actually amused her—they were actual fishes! “Ooohhh, that’s a lot of goldfish, don’t’cha think?” she remarked with a grin, pointing to one of the ‘bowls’ that was shaped like a warped version of what appeared to be a cannelloni noodle; watching as several of the small aquarium fish were swimming through the water without a care in the world.
“As for your earlier remark…” she began, stopping in front of what appeared to be a lightning-bolt shaped tank that had eels swimming and flitting through them, “…well, I couldn’t help myself when I saw your name on that list… so I just had to. I’m chicken when it comes to asking you out for a formal, actual date—not one done on a dare,” she added, finally letting the blush creep in full force across her face.

The blonde smirked faintly and nodded in response. "I suppose you could say that" He said, cracking his neck as he attempted to try and straighten out his faulty neck in wear that was normally out of his comfort zone. He had to admit, all of this had come as a surprise to him, and was a bit overwhelming. What had started out as a pressured dare had turned into a full on date with Izumi, without her actually having to ask him, in the bubble dome for a night.
"Oh geez, Zu. Your dress looks fine" He remarked with a laugh. "Don't worry about it. I always think I look ridiculous in formal wear. It's not my thing, really. I'm not really a formal kind of guy. I like wearing t-shirts and leather jackets and comfortable shit. Y'know, even if people mistake me for a thug" He would crack with a chuckle. It's true, at some point some rowdy looking guy had mistaken him for a thug and thought he was going to kill him, when really Josh was just trying to help him. Great, huh?
He smiled faintly in amusement as he would lace his fingers between hers, with a shrug. "Honestly, I can't really control that, Izumi" He would admit. "Lightning does what he wants. The two times he's zapped you..." He began, not counting Richissime since he knew she had very little memory of it. "Were either by accident or had a purpose. Once was to wake you up because Ariadne was missing, the other was to try and zap a Golbat on your head. I don't think he holds any ill will toward you at all" He remarked. As they passed through the main entrance, he would look around curiously at the glass tanks. Huh, no Pokemon? That was... Interesting. Perhaps the Pokemon were later on in?
"That IS a lot of goldfish" He admitted with a chuckle. "You don't normally see regular fish out in the wild, do you? You generally just see Pokemon" He would add. He watched the aquarium fish with a piqued interest. How had these things been collected? Certainly not with Pokeballs, after all. As they stopped in front of the eel tank, he would raise an eyebrow, but nodded at the explanation. "I guess that would explain it. Here I was thinking my self esteem was going to tank before you came along" He joked with a chuckle.
"Man, these eels remind me of fishy Pikachu" He snarked.

“Are you sure I look fine? I actually feel nervous since I haven’t worn anything outside of… well, you know, my usual apparel,” she continued with a rather flustered look on her face, still watching the eels zipping around in the oddly-shaped tank. “They do? Heh, I’m rather surprised that the tank itself hasn’t exploded yet,” she remarked with a slight smirk crossing her features for a few moments, before she looked up in order to get a better view of her companion.
“Am I doing… am I doing fine so far?” she asked him in a much quieter tone, before catching sight of another set of unusually-shaped tanks that had multitudes of not just gold fish swimming around in its containers. “Oooohh, look over there! Even more fishies! Who knew they’d be able to get all these fishes into one place?” she said, while attempting to pull him along, never letting go of his hand. She was very much hesitant on breaking contact with his hand; that much was certain, because who knew what insanity would happen if she let go of his hand.
“Come on, look over here! These rainbow-colored fishes are just…” she trailed off, caught in the glow of the iridescent lights and watching the fish in the oat-shaped tank much further ahead swimming in unison, as if practicing for a synchronized swimming competition. “They look absolutely pretty,” she added, hesitating on tapping the glass—because who knew what would happen afterwards?
Post by Josh Dragomir on Apr 19, 2015 21:45:26 GMT -5
"Zu" Josh said, landing a firm hand on her shoulder. He would have grabbed both shoulders, but Izumi had a death grip on his other hand. "You look bloody fine. You think I'm used to women in formal clothing? Girl, I spent my life working on a bloody ranch, swimming in rivers and cleaning up PokeShit. I then spent the rest of it fighting for my life in the wild against bloody ZOMBIES. I never once during that time saw women in frilly dresses, or men in fancy ass tuxedos and shit. Sweetheart, my clothes were torn into rags and anyone I ever saw also wore bloody rags. Now, dressed like that... To me? Izumi, you look like a fucking princess. And that's not even GETTING INTO your actual looks!"
Once that was over, he would go back to observing the eels. "Hmm... I'm surprised they haven't gone after any Chinchou that might be in this aquarium. Something tells me that the eels would find Chinchou and Lanturn to be natural rivals" He would observe aloud as they would go to yet another set of aquariums. He would smile faintly as Izumi pulled him to another set of them. "They're pretty indeed. I wonder what gives them that rainbow color?" He would muse aloud, tilting his head, squeezing her hand gently to make sure she didn't get too worked up. Didn't need her passing out right at the start of the date, aye?

Now that was laying it on a bit thick, but otherwise the raven-haired Trainer felt her ears burn a rather deep shade of crimson. “Aw, come on. You… you seriously mean that, though?” she said in a much quieter tone, now that she was staring up at a tank full of what appeared to be iridescent versions of the normally yellow gold fish that she’d only seen in books and just getting lost in the hypnotic way that they swam around the tank. “Your guess is as good as mine,” she remarked at his quip of wondering out loud as to what made the fish shimmer in all known colors of the rainbow; while cracking a smirk at his previous remark about the Pokémon and the actual fish not being found within the same tank.
“Maybe they intentionally separated the actual fishes from the ‘mons… because you never know what would happen if real-life fauna and Poke-fauna get together in a single environment. I’d suppose they tried it out before and got disastrous results… but then again, your guess is as good as mine, to be fair,” she continued in the same quiet voice; before finally catching sight of what appeared to be a tunnel stretching infinitely into the darkness beyond.
“Ooh, come, let’s look over there next!” she added a few moments later, resisting the urge to bob up and down on the soles of her feet and just basically run off like a kid again—because she was trying her best to act dignified while he was around! “We don’t have the whole night, y’know?” she continued on with an attempt at a smirk on her face, before slowly but surely pulling him towards where the glass tunnels stretched from floor to ceiling, showing them a literal view of what the aquatic world looked like.

Sure, that might have been laying it on a bit thick. But he was being honest. Truly, he wasn't used to formal attire at all besides the few times he had worn it, such as Richissime, but Izumi didn't remember Richissime and Josh didn't want to remember Richissime. He would smirk over at Izumi in response to her question, after he'd finished being overly serious. "Of course I do, Zu. Why would I lie?" He would ask her quietly, chuckling as he would boop her nose playfully, albeit gently. He would look up at the tank full of yellow goldfish and watch in wonder. It was... Interesting, really, how they swam around, it was so different from the swimming patterns of Pokemon. As if they were more meant for just swimming around their entire lives then anything else, while Pokemon were meant for all sorts of purposes, both on land and in the sea. He would shrug when Izumi would respond to his crack about the nearby rainbow fish.
"Yeah, I figured there were safety reasons for them separating these fish and the Pokemon" He would admit, cracking his neck. "I mean, the Pokemon would probably just eat them. There really isn't any indication of what Pokemon could be carnivores. Actually, most of them appear to be omnivores, by what I've studied" He would observe aloud before being pulled toward the dark tunnel beyond. He would follow along with Izumi as she dashed off like a kid, still holding his hand, while still trying to admire the view.
"You kidding? We got all night. Relax" He said with a chuckle.

“Well, I know you might get hungry at some point, so I’m trying to get through the entire place so we have more than enough time to spend at the restaurant within the Dome,” she began with a pointed look; before receiving a gentle bonk on her nose. At least he didn’t hit any harder… she thought with a grin as he then voiced out his remarks about the ‘normal’ fishes being isolated from the Pokémon; even she didn’t know how to make heads nor tails if the two vastly different species were placed together in an enclosed space and left alone.
Now that they were traversing through the floor-to-ceiling tunnels, she could only crane around her neck as fast as she could manage—because truth be told, it was nothing like that Undersea Tunnel that Kouji had been prattling on and on about back when he was still making a living in Unova—she’d already gone through the same tunnel and sadly didn’t get the chance to spot a Wailord or something similar to them that one time. “Well, this place reminds you of the Undersea Tunnel that stretches from Undella to Humilau, doesn’t it,” she remarked, coming to a stop near one of the ‘joints’ that stretched on for what looked to be an infinity; before spotting something that looked like a school of sting rays swimming idly by.
“Who knew that there’s more to the world than Pokémon; I mean, look at all the marine life,” she continued, gazing towards the thick glass walls and seeing that there were beautiful coral reefs that had been positioned in such a way that the entire set-up looked absolutely natural; not a thing out of place. “I hope the sharks are in another area…” she continued, staring at the swimming fishes in silent wonder—seeing a school of something she couldn’t identify dart by with a splash of hypnotic color.

"At some point, Zu, at some point" He would remark. "What, did you think we were going to spend most of the time eating? That was last date" He cracked with a chuckle. "I mean, it can't be so big that we'd be here all night from just one tour. If it took all night for a simple tour of the place, then nobody would visit" Josh would add, smirking faintly. You could take away everything he had but he'd still have jokes. "And its not like it'll take THAT long before we clear out the entire Dome restaurant, between you and me" Josh would add, chuckling. "And maybe Lightning, you know how he gets when there's food involved" He'd add. Granted, he didn't know why Izumi was so against Lightning being there. He didn't really ruin the date last time. If anything, they had WAY too much food, more then either of them could stomach even put together, Lightning made sure that the food made by the restaurants staff for he and Izumi, for free might I add, wasn't wasted. He did them a favor, if you asked him. Of course, Lightning knew that if they were eating in a setting like this and it was going to be expensive, he might be less inclined to, unless they had way too much food again.
Josh observed the floor-to-ceiling tunnels as they made their way through, curious about the setting and all of the wildlife that resided within. Izumi mentioned a location from Unova, and he would shrug. "We didn't really travel much in Unova like we had planned on, I don't even know if we visited Undella or Humilau" He would remark, with a shrug. "I never did get to visit a few of those famed regions like I wanted to before Nue became the in thing... Kind of disappointed actually. I wanted to do a little more in places besides Hoenn, but I just... Never had the chance" He'd admit with a sigh. "Maybe one day we can go on a few adventures in a few regions, aye?" He would ask. Sure, there were no more spawns or anything, or mod-work in those regions... But they weren't totally unavailable, right? This writer was sure that plots could still be done if they put their heads together...
As they stopped at what appeared to be some sort of "joint" as it was called, he watched as the sting rays would swim by without a care in the world. "Aye..." Josh responded softly to Izumi's words. "They look kind of like Mantine. But maybe I'm just tired" He'd admit with a chuckle. "They look more like manatees then sting rays, but I can see where some people would make the misconception"
He gazed through the thick glass walls along with Izumi, engrossed in the life within them. He chuckled when she mentioned the sharks. "Scared of sharks, are ya Zu?" He would joke with a snicker.

“Is that a challenge to my appetite?” she began, looking around and following the rainbow-colored school of fish as they swam away to the darker reaches of the enclosure. “You know that challenging me in an eating contest is possibly the worst you can do. I mean, you’ve already seen me go,” she continued, before she began fiddling around with her small black bag and finally managing to extract a camera from its depths. “And of course, what’s this visit going to mean if we don’t take pictures?” she added with a devious grin on her face as she then turned on her small, handheld camera.
Once she’d managed to get the settings just right, she then began to snap pictures left and right with her free hand—while looking around and attempting to get as much of the entire place taken as possible without having to resort to backing away from Josh himself. “You know,” she continued in a quieter tone, “…if the move didn’t take place too soon, we’d have spent our time going around Unova and just basically having fun as tourists. Well, at least we got to tour the old incarnation of Kouji’s Ranch before he moved to Nue ahead of us in order to get established and rebuild the Ranch there in Bayonada,” she remarked with another devious grin crossing her features.
“No, you’re not tired—they do look like Mantine, minus the weird little dishes trailing them behind one of their ‘wings’,” she spoke up sometime later, this time watching as another school of what appeared to be sting rays idled past them. “You know, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d managed to get a Wailord in here or two. The place is big enough to host it, haven’t you noticed?” she added as she then continued to move forward, wondering just how long and how far the tunnel stretched. Would they be able to reach another place, or did this tunnel snake around the place? Either way, he raven-haired girl could feel the cool blast of air-conditioning blowing through the tunnel, and could only chuckle.
“If you were given a chance… would you want to go back to the old world… and just, you know, have fun as a tourist?” she asked him sometime later.
