Who knew that he’d be roped into talking with one of his Ranch’s ‘preferred clients’ over something that really struck a chord with him? To be perfectly fair, the Breeder had some idea about what was going on between his first boss and the sandy-haired, six-foot tall guy that she’d brought into her life (and had caused him to become a rather successful Breeder due to all the requests he’d put forward) but he wasn’t exactly…prepared to deal with the existential crisis that his first boss had put forward to him via private messages a few days prior to this meeting that he was going to have with his fellow male.
Why she’s freaking out is perfectly understandable. It’s just that… well, shit, I wasn’t exactly expecting Darren to drop a bomb on me, too… he thought with a pensive look on his face as he took out his mobile phone once more and gave it a glance. Seeing that he was still re-reading through the message trail he and his first boss had been conversing about for some days now, he then sighed; before wondering—were some men just really that dense when it came to things on certain sides of the spectrum? He was still reeling from the rather…unconventional confession that his assistant had dropped on him; and he was still in the middle of trying to process that information, as well.
Well, this talk would probably help… or something. Since Darren was the confessor and I was the confessee… I should… know how to deal with stuff like this… right? Right?! He continued to muse in the back of his mind, trying to wrap some sense around what Darren had told him on that day they’d done and sang that certain song! Now that he was waiting out at one of Bayonada’s local cafes, the next best he could do was to text Josh about where his location was at the moment, because he didn’t want to give up the rather comfortable spot he’d secured for them to sit down in and formally talk.

Unfortunately for both Kouji and Izumi, Josh wasn't exactly used to the concept of relationships and love. Sure, he could feel it, but he wasn't going to exactly be able to detect subtle signs like Izumi had shown. Josh was very intelligent, but he'd spent his entire life either with Pokemon, or fighting for his life and being isolated from people. The only people he met during that period were ones that wanted to kill him for one reason or another. That was what had forced him to become one with a killer instinct before. People skills didn't exactly come with the territory.
Still... As much as he didn't show it, there was something there for Miss Izumi. He just didn't know how to show it. There was something there, bubbling up, just there inside of him that he didn't seem to realize or know how to show. Would he find a way to eventually? Who knows? All he knew was that Kouji wanted to talk to him. He would walk into the arranged meeting place, nodding over at Kouji as he took his seat.

Kouji was getting rather antsy, the longer he sat in the spot he’d claimed in order to be able to have the ‘discussion’ in private. To be perfectly fair, he was still reeling from the shock of what Darren had told him; because who would’ve thought that his assistant was actually harboring serious affections for him at that point in time?! He was about to fish out his mobile phone from his pocket before he heard one of his clients’ dulcet tones; causing him to look up with his brows knit into a knowing look.
“Oh, there you are… have a seat, have a seat,” he began, indicating the plush couch that was across from his. He’d gone to great lengths in order to be able to get the best spot in the entire coffee house; now it was time to get to the topic at hand. “Alright let’s begin… now; I’m not here to tell you off, but… Mr. Dragomir—or is it Josh, whichever—have you… have you noticed the Fire Lady acting all weird lately?” he continued, not pulling punches and getting directly to the point.
He knew that the sooner he was able to tackle the problem, the sooner he’d be able to remedy this. He could feel a tingly sensation at the base of his neck; but decided to disregard it for now—he had other matters to take care of, more important things to discuss with his co-owner of the homestead out in the Wilds. Now, here’s to hoping I didn’t come off as too strong with the first question… he thought as he then leaned back in the couch, the better to observe the blonde’s reaction to his posed question.

Well, that didn't take very long. No sooner had the blonde haired Trainer taken his seat that Kouji had immediately said he wouldn't try to tell him off before bombarding him with questions. "Fire la-Oh, you mean Izumi" He would respond, taking a breath as he would take a moment to process his question. Had Izumi been acting weird lately? Well, let's see. She had always been a bit aloof around him, it wasn't really easy for him to pinpoint that she'd pretty much liked him this whole time, since he didn't know the difference. The flirting between them had increased, he thought, but honestly, they flirted all the time anyway. It'd been the norm for them since they had met. The only oddity that he could think of was when she had suddenly ran off on Valentines Day, and he had found her curled up on a bench in tears.
"Uhhh... Maybe a little?" He would answer, scratching his head. What was going on with Izumi? He couldn't help but be concerned.... He'd been heavily concerned about her since Richissime.

Now that his companion had mentioned that indeed, the girl they were both acquainted with (in more ways than one) was acting a bit strange, he then sighed, before pulling out his mobile phone again. He then flipped through the lock screen before gliding through the menus; and pulling up the message trail between the two—normally it would’ve been something along the lines of business; but this time the talk between Izumi and Kouji had taken a turn for the weirdly personal.
“You… you may want to read that, start from this date,” he began, sliding it upwards until a flash of light from the screen made him stop. Now, if Josh would care to look, he’d see the following conversation:
I: Hey, Pret, I don’t know what to do.
K: What’d you mean? ‘S rare for you to text me these days and ask for something. Considering your wish list being whittled down and e’rrything…
I: Okay, so here’s the thing. I… I’ve been trying to confess my feelings to Josh. Y’know, the blonde guy?
K: Oh, the client you brought in not too long ago back in Unova?
I: Yeah.
I: See, here’s the thing. You know how… abnormally close me an’ him have been getting’, right? I’m very much sure that this isn’t normal anymore. I’ve… been…
K: Been what, exactly?
I: Let’s just say that I can’t imagine my life without him. He filled the hole that ‘he’ left behind. Not only filled in, but covered it entirely and made me feel more at ease. More… alive. More…human, if you may.
K: And…?
I: I’m pretty sure this isn’t infatuation anymore, but… is it normal to worry to bits about him? Always making sure that he’s okay, and feeling this huge weight being lifted off your shoulders whenever you see someone that you deeply care about?
K: Whoa. Wait a second, how long has this been goin’ on?
I: For… for a while now. But it’s killing me inside! You know the pain of not being able to confess my true feelings for him! I even made him chocolates for Red Day—not that I’m expecting anything back on White Day, but…
K: That’s something serious. I know you’d never normally go out of your way for just anyone…
I: …that’s the thing. He’s someone very close to me. Someone I care about truly, madly, deeply. It wold kill me if anything happened to him.
K: Oh, you have no idea…
I: Hm? What’s that?
K: Oh, nothing. Don’t mind my rambling. So… you’re having a hard time telling him about your feelings, right?
I: Exactly… but… I don’t know where to get the courage to confess outright. I love him, okay? I know that this is something deeper, it’s gone past that point of no return, as several people put it. Once you fall, there’s no turning back. Right?
K: I hope you can get that out of your system. Problem is, what would he say if you did confess? Is… is that what you’re afraid of?
I: …yes, to be honest. I’m afraid of how he’ll react if I just blurt it out, that I love him. Y’know, all the flirting and the passes, and the digs that we’ve been tossing at each other… it pains me to see that he doesn’t get it. He doesn’t get it at all!
K: There, there… I’ll see what I can do…
“That’s…pretty much the extent of it. When you said weird, as again—did anything strange happen? Like, was she acting out of the ordinary, or something?” he asked, looking at the taller guy, gauging his reaction. The pain that was building up at the base of his head was starting to creep in a little further, but he chose to ignore it as much as he could…

"Hm?" He would let out curiously as the blonde would take the phone. He didn't know why Kouji wanted him to read through these texts, but... He supposed it was worth looking at if it was that important. Was something seriously wrong with her? Was she hurt, or hiding something from him? He slowly got worried sick and started to read through the texts. At first, he figured she was just hiding something seriously wrong with her that she didn't trust him with. Then it went to talking about him and he blinked. Eventually, when it started hinting at it, he would raise an eyebrow. What exactly was going on here, now? But as he read more and more, it began to make sense... Especially when the big L word came out.
"...... Oh"
His mouth was open in the shape of an O. He scratched his head, blushing crimson. "I uh... I didn't realize.." He stammered out, handing him back the phone. "I guess I never saw it" He would admit, with a sigh. ".... What do I do?" He would ask, looking at Kouji. "I mean... Izumi's great. She's a great girl. And she means a lot to me. I'm just... Unsure of how I feel about her, about this right now. I'd prefer to talk to her about this myself, but obviously you're playing messenger here. What should I do?" He would reiterate. He could almost sense it, like something was there... But he didn't know how to put how he felt into word.

Kouji could only stare outright at his companion as he scrolled down through the messages up until the very last entry, which was dated a few days before this unusual meeting. He noted that the taller man was now flushing a particularly deep shade of red, and his mouth was hanging agape; evidently surprised at the revelation that he’d just stumbled on. He then reached for the phone before swiping out of the conversation and locking it again, and then returning it to his pocket before facing him with a rather knowing look. Now that he’d asked the million-dot question, the Breeder could only sigh, before gathering his thoughts and then attempted to work out an answer.
He was about to speak when the throbbing pain in the base of his skull suddenly shot upwards, causing him to blink momentarily before a hand went up to the back of his neck, an attempt to massage the pain away. “Ugh. Why did it have to be now…” he muttered with a groan, before he surrendered himself over to the inevitable vision that then popped into his mind’s eye;
It was like he was back in Lumiose all over again—only thing was instead of seeing himself finally getting out and helping Bailey escape, he saw a different scene; it was in the place where he’d seen his first boss get struck by a bolt of lightning.
Only instead of seeing the actual scene of the lightning strike, he could now make out a figure carrying her out of the area, before handing her over to someone—he couldn’t make out if it was a member of the medical team or if it was someone else.
The scene shifts and it shows the two now ensconced inside the white ambulance, the taller blonde never leaving her side, looking incredibly distraught.
“…arrrrgh, I hate it when that happens,” the Breeder began a few moments later, finally blinking as hard as he could—whenever the visions would strike, the headache that usually came along with it would disappear soon after. “Don’t ask… just…ugh,” he groaned, taking a few deep breaths in order to calm himself. Several more moments later he had managed to regain a somewhat composed state, before facing the blonde again.
“There’s only one thing to it: you’d have to ask her directly about it. Has she tried to tell you about what she felt recently? Like, when you mentioned that ‘little’ thing of her going out of character. What exactly happened there, d’you mind sharing with me? Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this,” he added, urging his companion to speak up.

The blonde haired Pokemon Trainer would nod, still a bit exasperated by what he had just read, as he would politely hand the phone back to Kouji, who he had always assumed was... Well, the Arthur type. How he would laugh if he found out that Kouj's rude little assistant harboured and had declared feelings for Kouji, just as Izumi had attempted to declare her own feelings for him? But for the revelation itself? He didn't know what to say. How could he? He had known Izumi for quite a long time. Sure, there had been joking flirts shot back and forth between them, it had become a custom that had grown more and more prominent the more time went on, especially recently. But he never once thought that Izumi harboured real, actual feelings for him. She loved him. She LOVED him. He couldn't comprehend it... The biggest question that came to mind was....
What would a girl like Izumi want with a mentally unstable, rough around the edges sap like him who couldn't win a Trainer battle to save his life? Izumi had even managed to beat Yumi to gain the knowledge of Mega Evolution, while he had failed in his attempts twice, even with Yumi herself at his side he couldn't win. He was a failure in that regard and he knew it. Why wouldn't Izumi want some strapping police lad? Or a guy who could actually cook? Josh couldn't cook. He could make Pokemon food, sure, but that was basic to him. It was second nature and unimportant in a sense that if you didn't know how, you shouldn't be a Pokemon Trainer. But actual cooking? He was useless. She had to do it for him if they traveled together or he would just eat canned foods he'd brought along. Was he even good enough? He didn't understand... He didn't understand love much to begin with, but...
He would show obvious concern as Kouji would blank out. This wasn't normal, he thought, and he was obviously in pain. "Kouji, are you alright?" He would inquire, before answering his question. "She's been... Different lately. Difficult to explain. She tried to tell me something and then suddenly ran off. I found her in tears on a bench later" He would explain.

He was still in the middle of trying to get rid of the pain by blinking as rapidly as he could and shaking his head, when he heard his companion’s voice catching his attention. Shaking his head one last time in order to be able to clear out the cobwebs, he then looked down at the table again, before finally looking back up at him.
“Okay… first things first. When did that ‘weird thing’ happen? Y’know, the one where she burst into tears and ran away from you? How… fishy was her behavior that day? I’m taking a guess she gave you chocolates or something…” he began, trying to see if he would answer; the better to be able to get to the bottom of the problem.
As for his train of thought, he was seriously contemplating on whether or not he should reveal his secret; but then decided not to—for now, at least. “Nah, I’m fine. Just… it’s just a headache, nothing too big to worry about. I tend to get them every now and then,” he continued, hoping that the lie was good enough to shake him off.
I’m dead if he can read auras or something. But I don’t think she mentioned anything like that to me… he thought in the back of his mind, waiting for his companion to answer the questions he’d put forth earlier. With the answers he was waiting for, he would be able to piece together a plan, the better for Josh to understand the concept of ‘affection’ and ‘love’.

The blonde would raise an eyebrow as Kouji continued his weird spasms, but Mr. Breedersnickers would eventually come back to his senses in time for him to answer his questions. "Yeah. She gave me chocolates, I was trying to give her chocolates and flowers but she ran before I could do so" He would explain. "It was... Odd, but I guess now I sort of understand" He said, giving a sigh, and scratching his head. "Zu, Zu, Zu... Why didn't you just tell me..." He whispered, closing his eyes. She didn't have to cry... He would have understood. Sort of...
He had an inkling that Kouji was lying on the second part, but not much he could do. Still, it was shady... What was with how he was acting today? He couldn't see what was going on, exactly... It was odd. He'd have to keep a closer eye on Kouji from now on, he decided.

“Looks like the question just answered itself right there,” the Breeder began with a chuckle. “You know what? It’s better to wait for her to confess her feelings to you outright. Although, I don’t know how you’d react to that if ever it happens…” he added, pondering on the entire…weirdness of the situation between his boss and one of his preferred clients. “Although, it wouldn’t be too much if you helped her feel at ease, you know,” he continued, grinning for a few moments.
“Does she blush a lot or react a certain way whenever you two talk when you’re alone? Normally that’s a sign if someone’s crushing really hard on another. How I missed the signs with Darren—that’s my assistant’s name by the way—I will never know. But to be honest, I don’t know what to tell him after he confessed what he felt to me during that karaoke thing in Tyntill sometime ago,” he trailed off, the grin slowly replaced with a look of concern flitting across his face.
“The problem now is, how will you react? Will you accept what she has to say, or would you turn her down or stall for time? I… I actually had to stall for a bit because Darren caught me at such an unpredictable moment,” he admitted, scratching the back of his head rather sheepishly after that pronouncement. “I told him to let me have some time to think… and until now I haven’t given him an answer. But I now know that he’s not interested in girls, he’s interested in the same… well, you know what I mean,” he added with an embarrassed chuckle.

in due time, the revelation will take place. Josh Dragomir

He would nod in response. "Aye. You're right, you know that?" He would admit, chuckling a bit even if the blush would continue to linger on his face. "It wouldn't be right to confront her on it. When she feels comfortable to tell me herself... Well, we'll talk about it" He said, taking a breath. "I... Yeah, I don't know what to tell her when that time comes. I have a lot to think about" He said, cracking his neck.
He would listen, then, as he would talk about his situation with... Darren? Did he mean that snot nosed snark of an assistant of his? He couldn't help but laugh a bit when he heard about that. The guy who called him scruffy had a thing for Kouji? Bravo. Bravo. He considered poking fun at the assistant later on, but... Nah. It wasn't right, even if he didn't care about same sex relationships. They were no different to him then regular ones, just... Publicized differently.
"I'm... Not sure. Generally only when we're doing the joking flirting" He would admit. "I didn't think she was serious, I guess..." He said, taking a breath, blushing a bit. "As for how I'll react... I... I don't know" He admitted, biting his lip and looking down at the table. "I... I might have to ask for time. I... There's a lot to think about. But... What I do know is she means a lot to me. And I didn't fully realize how much until Richissime" He'd whisper, closing his eyes.
Post by Kouji Sakuraba on Mar 17, 2015 5:34:59 GMT -5
“Did you tell her, or at least inform her about talking to you when she’s more comfortable on opening up, just to be on the safe side?” he began again, hoping to confirm that this wasn’t going to end too badly. Thankfully, his companion didn’t flip his shit when he’d let slip about what his crazy assistant had done, confessing to him right then and there after their little karaoke number over in Tyntill sometime ago; he could take a guess that Josh was one of the people that respected other people’s preferences, regardless of gender.
Either way, he then saw another blush creep across his face as his companion admitted that their subtle versions of digging and ‘flirting’, per se, apparently had an entirely different meaning once his first boss (Izumi) was concerned. He then nodded at the last few words, before finally hitting on an answer that would hopefully help him make a choice when it came to the moment that she would eventually get out what she’d been meaning to say.
“Isn’t that proof enough that you care about her, over at what happened in Lumiose…?” he began, hoping that he didn’t catch him off-guard due to the way he’d worded that little statement. “You-you see… I…” he trailed off, before taking a deep breath and deciding that now would be the time to let him in about this little secret that had been nagging him for so long.
“…that headache earlier, I saw something. Well, it was something of the past. I don’t know why I can see them, though. But… now that you mentioned Richissime… I saw something flash in my mind, while I was tied up and we were trying to break free of those stupid zip ties.
But first, I have my own question for you: do you believe in psychic powers, or anything similar of the sort?” he continued, hoping that the Trainer wouldn’t be weirded out by his rather…strange pronouncement.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Mar 17, 2015 8:54:53 GMT -5
"I did" He would respond to his first question, nodding. He had no idea that THIS was what Izumi was trying to say, but he had given her space and time to say it herself when she was ready, even if he was curious. Well, looks like his curiosity had been sated earlier than planned thanks to Kouji and the texting machine. Or was it a Twitter Twatter thing? He didn't know, he just read them as texts. It could be PokeBook, or Hooter... No wait, he was pretty sure it was Twitter, Hooter was a restaurant he had heard about, which he assumed was based off Hoothoots... Or was it? He'd never been to one before. Regardless...
He would tilt his head at Kouji's... Rather strange revelation. What was he talking about? He... Saw something at Richissime? And what was this about psychic powers? "Well, a maniac and his Pokemon tried to psychic choke Izumi to death, use illusions and meat shields and all that.. So I'm pretty sure you don't have to ask me that since I've seen it myself" He said with a shrug. Ah, the sarcasm and snark machine was back.

The moment the words had left Josh’s mouth, the Breeder felt a chill run up his spine—was that what his vision back in the situation they’d been stuck in Richissime all about? He then felt all the color drain from his face at that pronouncement—who knew that there were other individuals who had that much malicious intent?! So that vision really did take place?! Gah, why didn’t I see that coming?! He thought to himself, touching his cheek and feeling that his hands had gone cold. “You… someone tried to do something that normally only happens in movies out here in reality…?!” he began with a trembling voice, before slumping backwards in the seat he was parked in.
He then blinked a few times, shutting his eyes as hard and as long as he could; the better to get that bloodcurdling scream out of his head—it had sounded so real, so close; who knew that it had happened and he’d seen it mere moments before…or was it after they’d managed to get free of their own zip ties? Either case, the Breeder attempted to take a few deep breaths, the better to calm himself down. “Shit… that really happened?! Getting… how is she still alive after that?!” he continued to mutter to himself, trembling as he shook like a leaf while still taking deep breaths, in a vain attempt to get back to a reasonable state of calmness. Damn it, this is why sometimes I’m scared of seeing the future… or the past… but either way, the visions are getting more and more vivid… he mused to himself, before placing a trembling hand on the arm rest near him.
“You see… the reason why I asked that is because… I saw it happen. Well, the problem is that I’m not sure if I saw it before or during that time… I can see visions. Of the future or the past, I’m not too sure, but either way, I can see visions… mostly fragmented ones. But lately they’ve been showing up more often, with people I’ve been in close contact with…” he said by way of explanation—the longer he kept on talking, the calmer he became, and with a final shudder, he’d managed to gather his thoughts and had regained his center, somewhat.
