It had been a long road to finishing, it had been a lot of work and a lot of time and effort spent building. But it was finished. "A Piece Of Heaven", a ranch owned and managed by the Dragomir Family and Kouji Sakuraba, as well as Izumi Yamamura to an extent, was finished. Their Pokemon had a place to call home. But now, something else had been suggested this morning by Serena. Building a house.
Serena had known this would come. Her lab/house was too small to hold herself, Josh and Izumi. Kouji was always traveling, but had an area already set for him to rest his head when he was here. But Josh and Izumi lived here, and didn't have a place of their own to live.. And so, she had suggested they build a house, piling their resources and finances, as well as with additional financial backing from Serena, to build it. It would take their own manpower, as well as that of their Pokemon... But the piece of land within the property had been chosen.
Josh and Izumi had already gone back and forth on the blueprints, then had submitted them to Serena for approval. What Josh hadn't expected though, was for her to send it back much bigger then before!
"Mom! We can't afford to make the additional big things here!" Josh called over to Serena. "Its too much on our budget!" He said. Serena would laugh and put a hand on his shoulder. "No, no, no worries. It won't cost you a dime. I'm hoofing most of the costs. Consider it my thanks for all the Pokemon you've brought here for me to study" She said, smiling. "My studies have made me money thanks to you, as well as Izumi with her Pokemon here. The least I can do is give back"
Josh sighed, then nodded. "Alright..." He said, looking over at Izumi. "Ready?"

It had been some time since they’d gone over and over the blueprints that would eventually consist of what they’d be calling ‘their humble abode’; but it wasn’t without error. Several times they had to argue about how the exterior would look like; because it was her secret wish for the inside of the residence to look like something that came out of Shui—or better yet, Ecruteak from all the way in Johto. She knew that her companion preferred things a little more on the ‘modern side; and they’d come to a head several times when it came to the general décor and final design of the place. After reaching a compromise several heated discussions (more like arguments) later, all she had to do now was wait—and see.
She knew that Josh would take care of the legwork, and he’d already given it to his mother to check and approve (or most likely deny) but she then heard the beginning of a shocked outburst coming from the Tho’real shampoo model; saying something about the revised blueprints being way too large. She could feel more heat on her face as she approached the conversing mother and son; before finally hearing that Serena was going to cover the additional…expenses on the final blueprint, and then she gave him a salute. “Yep, I heard… and quite frankly, I’m extremely surprised to hear that she’ll cover everything… she’s sure about this?” she confirmed, just to make sure she wasn’t mishearing any information that was given to them.

"Well, with that settled, what're we waiting for?" Josh would ask, his look of concern replaced with a grin. While he didn't approve of his mother's spending on their behalf, they wanted them to have the best home that they possibly could. If that was what she wanted, then it would be a diservice to her to keep that from her. "So let's see..." He began as he would start looking over the blueprints. Noticeably, Serena had done a bit of mixing. The majority of the house seemed to have the modern theme that Josh wanted, likely since she was hoofing it, that was what she wanted it to be, but... Izumi certainly wasn't left out of her wishes. Josh noticed, first and foremost, that Izumi's bedroom had the Shui theme she wanted so badly. Not only that, but so did the kitchen! It seemed that in making the blueprints, Serena knew of Izumi's love of cooking, as well as how much time she probably spent in her Shui-based restaurants kitchen, as well as how much time she'd spend in there in comparison to Josh. This way, Izumi not only got her wish, but had a comfortable environment to do what she loved as well.
The first thing to handle were the foundations. The materials were already laid out for them, they just had to put everything together. Josh would let out a whistle and a few Pokemon who he had explained the process to previously, would make their way over. Several notable ones were Fawkes, Inferno, Vulcan, Vector, Lightning, Gawain, his group of Timburr, who would be a massive help due to their building expertise, Spagonia and Bastilo. Josh would shoot a wink toward Izumi before getting to work on building the foundations. Josh would begin hefting the large beans and materials needed for stating it, and his Pokemon would follow suit. Lightning took care of the smaller stuff due to his smaller size, while Spagonia used it's telekinesis as a means of lifting the materials.

She could only watch as he began to summon over several of his ‘minions’; apparently they’d been planning on this in secret for quite some time. Izumi knew that most of the house was going to look… ‘Westernized’ as her mother called it; but at least there were some places that were definitely going to have her own touch. “So, how many floors is this rig going to have anyway?” she began, before rolling up the sleeves of the shirt that she was wearing; and then winding her hair into a ponytail before securing it with a few hair sticks, just to keep it out of the way while they worked. “I know that a long-ass bungalow isn’t our only option, simply because there’s way too many rooms to cram into the space that we’ve been given,” she continued, before sneaking a look at the blueprints once again; the better to understand what the hell they were going to do.
The electric wiring and plumbing for their joint was going to be handled separately (or so she hoped); all they had to do was toss the place together, and the rest of the modern amenities would be dealt with accordingly. Did he even get the plumbers and the electricians to come out here once we get the frame of the place done? I hope he did, because this is going to be one hell of a logistics nightmare if he didn’t… she mused to herself as she then hefted one of the lighter beams up on her shoulder. She then chuckled as she saw a group of lumber-tossing Pokémon come out and began hefting up beams many times their size onto their shoulders and proceeded to get to work; she’d seen them way back in Unova, when she’d began the search for her Sora.

Josh wouldn't say he'd been planning this in secret... The Timburr, he'd gotten out of a lucky break in catching. The other Pokemon were used to building, as they had helped him with building his secret base along with camps and such. They had always worked together as a team... This was perfectly normal for them. "Eh..... Three?" Josh would answer to Izumi's question about floors. "Two or three, I think. This seems to indicate three" Josh would answer, handing the blueprints to Izumi, giving her writer input and a decision on if it should be two or three floors.... I mean, they could afford it, either way. The more space for rooms the better, right?
"Probably better we do three with all the rooms we want to cram into there" He would admit, looking over the blueprints again as he would look over at the foundation they were building on. Serena had been... Rather generous with the large plot of land they had been granted. There was space for outer decorating as well, he noticed. They would handle that when they got to it, of course.
As they got back to work and the pieces for the foundation began to go together, Josh would recall that the plumbers and electricians had been called earlier. That was already taken care of, luckily.
Half the day would pass. The first floor's part had been finished. Of course, there was still painting, furnishing, and the like to do... But it was a good start. They would handle the inside, as well as painting and the like later on, perhaps when the whole house's exterior was finished. Josh would take a step back to admire their work, wiping the sweat from his brow. Even the Pokemon would step back to take a break. Josh had lost count of the breaks they had taken, they had been at it for so long...
"Hows it look, Zu?" Josh would ask, looking over at Izumi. It was starting to come together...

Seeing that they were working with such speed—apparently the Timburr were quite used to working with structures, she could see that—the ground floor then began to take shape. She knew that they would have to hold back on painting and furnishing—as the electricians and plumbers would eventually swoop in and begin outfitting the barebones joint with the wiring and piping that was necessary to make the entire thing take shape—she then went over the blueprints once again.
“Three floors and a basement? Basement for storage most likely?” she inquired; because she then realized that they had more than enough junk in order to give the Lilycove Department Store a run for their money. “Well, two floors and a basement would be nice…” she trailed off, after scanning the blueprints and seeing that most of the ground floor was already laid out.
The ground floor would have a staircase leading to the upper levels; and the Timburr were quite busy on that point. Since she didn’t have too many ‘mons that could help with the construction, she herself was the one contributing all the elbow grease possible in order to be able to get the rooms in shape. “Alright, make sure that the stairs are stable enough…” she commented, taking a tentative step into the construction job that was now on-going, building the second floor which would most likely house their rooms. If they were going for a third floor, then that would be the entertainment and Pokémon playroom for the housebroken ones that were lucky enough to know not to wet the floors and… well, one could understand the point that she was trying to make.
“If we have a third floor. That would have to be the Pokémon mini-playroom and a place where we can have movie marathons in a pillow fortress… kind of like an in-house secret base,” she remarked, trying to see the vision unfold in her mind’s eye.

Josh was quite impressed with the speed that they had managed to work on the house. With the Timburr, work had sped up quite a bit, and the more Pokemon he had that could handle the heavy lifting, the better. Luckily, Josh had a good roster of large and strong Pokemon that could handle this sort of thing. Still, the day was halfway done, and their first floor was already complete. With a good deal more work, they would have a house to call their own.
"Hmm..." Josh began as he listened to Izumi's suggestions. "Aye, I'd have gone with two floors and a basement but... We have so many things to shove into a basement, that it becomes kind of useless for anything but storage" He would admit, chuckling a bit. "It's good to have three floors then, besides the basement. Considering all the rooms you wanted in there" He cracked, smirking. "Those rooms you suggested seem okay..." He began as Serena would call out to them.
"Hey! Supper!" She would call out. Josh would look over at Izumi and smirk. "Why don't we call it a night, eat, and in the morning, we can overview everything on the blueprints, finalize it, and get back to work" He would suggest as he turned to the Pokemon. "Good job today, guys!" He called out to them. "Let's finish for today, and tomorrow we'll get right back to it! Get some rest, you've earned it" He said as he would head inside.

Notes: Not ending the thread. Just think it should take more then a single day to finish. And we're not in a hurry.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Feb 12, 2015 8:03:24 GMT -5
“You do realize that we still have to paint this entire thing; both inside and out?” she remarked, seeing that having several of those Timburr did indeed speed up the process of throwing the house together. Still, it was a long way to go; and she was surprised with the speed of how the ground floor had been thrown up—but there were still the second and third floors left to build. Of course, the plumbers and electricians had left at sundown; and they would be returning in the morning in order to continue setting up the wiring and plumbing that the entire place had needed.
She was about to remark on what he’d mentioned when they were called in to supper by his mother; and then shrugged. “Yeah, today’s a wrap. Why not we wake up at the crack of dawn and try to get this done; get a lot of work completed… after all, construction isn’t easy,” she agreed, nodding and scooping up the blueprints before following Josh inside.
Knowing that he’d most probably forgotten the blueprints, she then followed after him, loaded down with all the floor plans and other necessary construction handouts that they needed; and very nearly stubbed her toe before realizing that she’d walked right into the house. “Stupid,” she muttered to herself as she then slipped out of her outdoor sandals and located her own slippers and then proceeded to dump all of the blueprints onto one of the work tables out in the living room; before heading to the kitchen and finally getting a good, hot meal down.
“Josh, you cheese head, you forgot to take the blueprints back inside. Don’t worry, I brought them in and left them on one of Serena’s working tables,” she remarked with a pointed look in his direction—hell, they’d been working hard most of the day. Well, at least she was; for Josh had most of his ‘mons doing the construction at this point in time.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Feb 12, 2015 8:36:27 GMT -5
"Oh, I know" Josh said, chuckling a bit. "Leaving the painting for when the construction is finished, silly Zuzie. That way, if we have to tear something down in order to start that part again and get the right trajectories, we didn't waste our time painting. It's best we wait until we have a design FINISHED, and it's FINALIZED before we get to painting" He said, nudging her playfully. Of course, Josh was tired as well. While Izumi apparently wasn't watching, Josh had been right in the thick of things, constructing the house along with her and his Pokemon. He just had more of his own Pokemon doing the work then Zuzu had decided to with her own. It was a group project and since they didn't have any builders, he, Izumi and his Pokemon needed to become the builders.
As Josh would head inside, he would realize that he had forgotten the blueprints. Heading back, he would see Izumi put them on the table and shrug. "Yeah, yeah, I know" Josh said, sighing to her complaints. "Was about to go grab them" He said, before shrugging and heading to the kitchen with Lightning in tow.

Day 2
Josh would take a breath of the fresh air, rolling up his sleeves and cracking his neck as he looked over their work. The ground floor was finished, and it seemed that the other workers had been here already, likely his mother had called them while he and Zuzu were sleeping. It was time to get back to work. Josh noticed he Pokemon from before beginning to gather. It seemed they had enjoyed the group work, and had shown up nice and early to start again. The blonde would sit down, cross legged, with Lightning sitting beside him as he started looking through the blueprints.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Feb 14, 2015 8:49:51 GMT -5
Who knew that their second day of constructing the house would have them oversleep?! Was it because they’d worked so hard the previous day that sleep tasted way too sweet for them?! Izumi then stifled a yawn as she then stumbled forward, carrying some of the beams in order to heft them up to the second floor.
She’d already decided to have at least Sora and Momiji helping out; mainly because one of them could transport big things with a minimum of effort, and the other one could basically just flick a limb at whatever needed to be floated and have it up in the air no sweat. She then whistled a few times, before watching s a shape soared from the sky and then hovered above her—it was her Braviary.
“Hey there, Sora,” she began, before carefully hoisting up the beam that she was trying to balance on her shoulder—but ended up pitching forward and then just letting half of it fall to the ground; while the rest stuck up in the air, “…can you lift this to the second floor for me?” she continued, pointing to where there were several burly construction workers helping to shape the house’s frame; and with a squawk, the Brav scooped up the beam and lifted it off without even batting an eyelash.
“Damn, who knew that he was that strong?” she remarked, watching as the Brav came down near where some of the other ‘mons were working; waving their own beams of wood—she then recognized that it was the Timburr trio that Josh had acquired sometime ago that was now helping shape the second floor alongside the plumbers and electricians who were watching the ‘mons with bemused expressions on their faces.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Feb 14, 2015 23:54:30 GMT -5
Josh was expecting to oversleep. It was a given, to be quite honest. They had worked hard throughout the day, and Josh had done quite a bit of manual labor as well as planning. His mind and body needed rest, and a bit of oversleeping was the only way for him to get that rest on both ends. It seemed this time, Izumi would be having her Pokemon helping out. And Josh had teamed up with his 'mons as well, all while carrying the things as well. The second floor was going to be more difficult to make due to it being higher up then the first floor. But luckily, Josh had Pokemon like Fawkes in order to carry him and other Pokemon up there. Fawkes was big by Charizard standards, he was good at this sort of thing. And for the Pokemon he couldn't carry on his back, there were special ladders for the Pokemon to work with.
Josh would look over at Izumi and her coordinations of her Pokemon's efforts. "Everything going alright down there, Zuzu?" He would call from the top of the ladder.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Feb 16, 2015 8:50:02 GMT -5
This time it would be the Braviary who would be lugging up materials from the ground headed towards the second floor—and she knew that it wasn’t completely done yet; as the entire thing still had a third floor left to build! “Alright, Sora, bring these up there next,” she began, watching as the Brav swooped down towards her spot. Izumi then pointed to another pile of beams that needed to be lifted; and with a squawk, the avian then snatched up one of the beams before flying them over to the construction site.
The Gardevoir, on the other hand, was helping with levitating the rest of the other materials to the second floor; and she then watched as several sacks of what looked to be powdered cement was now floating towards where the rest of the Timburr were now converging, trying to toss the entire frame of the structure together. “I’m fine down here… just making sure we have enough items for each floor distributed properly,” she called out, wondering just what the hell he was doing up there, instead of being down on the ground and helping iron out the finalized plan of the blue prints. She then caught sight of his mother waving at her; and then knew that her presence was needed.
She then hollered up in his direction, “Be right back,” before leaving the scene. Several minutes later, she was carting a table—which was then eventually followed with several plates full of food; as well as several pitchers of water as well. This was not just for the two of them; but also for the contracted electricians and plumbers to snack on should they want to take a break. “Food’s on!” she shouted a few moments later, once everything had been set up and distributed properly.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Feb 16, 2015 10:27:20 GMT -5
"Gotcha" Josh responded as he noted the Gardevoir handling cement duty. While Izumi didn't seem to like getting her hands dirty as much as Josh did, at least she was being creative with the way her Pokemon were handling things, and handling things efficiently to boot. Josh would help his Pokemon, along with Izumi's Pokemon, on working on the second floor. It was a long and arduous job, but Josh was hell bent on handling it the best he could. This was their house, their personal home, somewhere they would be resting their head and spending a lot of time in. It was important. Both to Josh, and to Izumi. So he was going to do all he could to finish this house and make it the best damn house that he could. They'd sunk a lot of money in already, but Serena had been instrumental with her financial support for the home. It was obvious that this meant a lot to her as well.
After a few hours had passed, Josh would hear Izumi call "Be right back" and would nod over to her as he continued working. The base of the second floor was almost done... And some of his Pokemon had been assigned to wall and floor duty for Floor 1. They were busy putting down the actual floorings on Floor 1, as well as putting the walls up. It was a tough job, but since Floor 1 was completed and would be staying the way it was, since they had done it perfectly based on the blueprints that Serena had drawn up, they could get to work on covering it and padding it.
Izumi would return, with talk of food. Josh, the Pokemon and even the workers would peek over at the cart of food. And before long, a rush of people and Pokemon were crowding the cart to snack.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Feb 20, 2015 4:14:57 GMT -5
Izumi could only watch—and chuckle at the same time—as a sudden rush headed her way; both humans and Pokémon, towards the table that she’d set up that had all manner of sandwiches and refreshments laid out on it. “Alright, alright, one at a time, guys!” she said over the clamor with a grin on her face; as she then picked up the sandwich platter and began to pas it around to the workers first.
Once they’d deigned to get a sandwich (or several) she then made her way back towards the table with a very-much empty tray; before getting the glasses all fixed and filled with the water—and in some cases juice—in order for everyone to refresh and rehydrate themselves.
After she’d passed around enough drinks for the people that were helping them with wiring and all the other fine things, she then turned her attention to the Pokémon, who were now clamoring around a rather tall pile of Berries and PokeTreats that Serena had helped cook up for them. “Alright, you guys, no hogging the food. Make sure everyone gets a share!” she called out, and began to distribute as much of an even share as she could for everyone who was present.
Noticeably, she saw that her Gardevoir was now levitating a few Berries in the air, before letting them drop into her mouth one by one. Her Braviary, on the other hand, was literally trying to throw himself into the drinking dish that she’d set up for the Pokémon to go to if in case they wanted some water.
Now that everyone was catching up and recharging, she then decided to make her way over to where Josh stood, before handing him several sandwiches she’d made herself along with some drinks to help push the food down. “So, what do you think? Looking good, isn’t it?” she began, gesturing towards the skeleton of the house—even if they already had the first floor done, she knew that they were going to take much longer on the second and third floors; because there was a lot of logistics involved in construction, to be completely honest.
The entire world didn’t make itself in a day; and she knew that even if they worked late into the night, they’d still have to slave over everything…

Josh would watch, smirking, as the workers and Pokemon would dig in. Man, everyone must have been exhausted, he thought. They had all been working hard. Annnd there was Lightning, eating like a champion again. He just might out-eat his Charizard, he thought. Luckily, his Snorlax was asleep, so the scent of food in the air didn't reach his nose. Bowser eating all that food under their noses... Ugh, just imagine?
He would smile over at Izumi when she would cart over a few sandwiches, gingerly taking one as they would both peer over at the skeleton that one day would be their house. He would nod, smirking. "Aye, it looks good. And one day, that's where you and me will be living" He said, smiling over at her. "So, what do you think of the idea of being roomies, eh smellzumi?" He would ask, chuckling a bit over at her. It was an interesting idea, living with your best friend, after all.
