After retreating to Sandgem Town in order to be able to refresh his team and have a few snacks, he then returned back to the outskirts of the town; because he was not leaving the area until he had the two targets that he was looking for! One of them was for a fellow Breeder; while the other one was more of a personal agenda for himself! Now that he had a reliable assistant for his Ranch, he could therefore trust Neili (the Chansey that he was keeping for himself) to tend to the eggs; and hopefully train her up in order to be able to tend to the customers as well. Back to the topic at hand… he was back in the waist-high grasslands again; keeping his eyes and ears peeled for something, anything else that was not what he’d encountered already.
Urgh, thankfully I can tell the genders apart… a little. Otherwise I’m toast, he thought to himself as he then turned around silently on the spot, trying to keep his eyes peeled as well for darting shadows or whatever else would try to catch him by surprise! Got to use different ‘mons now; because Hiekka and Liekki already got their time to shine. Come on, come on… I need at least one of the two targets so that I can continue searching in this unusual area! He continued to himself, trying to keep as silent as possible—because with each revolution he made, the grass always rustled; and even the slightest noise was bound to scare off even a single ‘mon that would even dare approach where he stood!

Kouji then heard rustling, and then very slowly turned around on the spot—trying to see what it was. What he was not expecting, however, was the fact that it was going to be something that he wasn’t particularly interested in—it happened to be a… what were a group of beavers called again? The term had escaped his mind, but there he was, staring at what looked like a family of brown-furred beavers that were just… there, hauling twigs, sticks and what even looked like cloven pieces of logs to wherever they were going to build their home! “Urk. Why did it have to be them…” he muttered to himself, backing away very slowly—hoping that he wouldn’t be seen by the two Bibarel that were hauling the bigger pieces of logs.
There was no way in hell he was going to get the two bigger ones angry; because from the looks of things he’d come across a family that was just starting out… “Nope,” he said, shaking his head and leaving the family of four to haul off their stock of wood, and wading in a different direction through the waist-high grass. He could only guess as to why this setion was left to grow wild—was it because more ‘mons were hiding if the grass was taller? Or was there something else to it entirely? He could only shake his head as he continued to shove aside some of the itchier stalks that were harassing him; because who knew if he would be able to find something that was hiding in the darker parts of the outskirts?

Who knew that his searching would actually… result in him finding one of the “targets” that he was asked to search for?! He then chuckled as he began counting the parade of marching… vines; and was a bit surprised to find out that there were five of them, a pair of Tangrowth leading three hapless, harassed-looking Tangela. He then realized that he could hit potential pay dirt, so with a grin and a few quick motions, he fished out his mobile phone and then sent the guy who’d been looking for the walking vines a message, alerting them of the sudden sighting. “And… looks like I’m actually ready to get ‘em so that I can continue looking for the frickin’ Easter Bunny,” he added with another grin, quickly plucking out two Pokeballs and sending out their occupants—and for the first time in forever, his Vullaby, Irina, made her appearance. Alongside her was the living sentient pile of magma, which he called Liekki. Now that the two ‘mons he was going to use was out on the battlefield, he then looked at the five walking masses of vines—and as one, all five of them stared back; before he decided to get the ball rolling.
“Alright, Liekki, you know what to do. Approach and set up with Smog, keep emitting the gas until they get poisoned. I’m not going to take any wild chances! Iri, set up with Tailwind so that we can make the most of it,” he began, and the Vullaby let out a squaw before leaping into action, flapping her stubby wings as best as she could manage. Once the jet of wind had whipped up behind them, the Slugma then inched forward, slowly but surely emitting the cloud of noxious purple fumes that were suddenly blown in the direction of the walking, sentient mass of vines! As if in retaliation, the two Tangrowth then suddenly had their bodies aglow; but he couldn’t guess what they were up to—the Tangrowth had used two successions of Growth in order to be able to boost their stats, before quickly lashing out with their vine whip attacks, hoping to deliver twice the hurt! The Slugma was unperturbed though; as she continued her slow, steady approach towards the group of five; the Tangrowth were shocked to see their Vine Whip attacks had gone up in flames due to the heat that the Slugma was emitting! After it had begun its approach, the noxious cloud of purple fumes then began wafting around them; and Liekki then began her slow yet steady circle around them, still exhaling the poisonous cloud of smog directed at them.
The Vullaby hung back; waiting for further instructions, and she let out a squawk; catching Kouji’s attention. “Yes, Iri? Oh, just let Liekki do her thing. She may be a bit slow in terms of movement; but thanks to your Tailwind, she’ll be able to keep up with them,” he said, turning his attention back and watching as the cloud of purple fumes continued to envelop the squirming mass of vines. Even if he couldn’t see it from where he was, the entire flock had been poisoned after the Slugma’s fourth, fifth circle around the little group—and he then decided to change and take a different tack; changing commands midway. “Alright, Liekki, change tactics, let’s go unleash the flames on them! use your Lava Plume and wear them down!” he continued, and this time the ground around the five started rumbling ominously—before revealing a vein of lava right underneath them! The pillars of fire then shot up and outwards from the vein that had split open; and began raining down on the surprised horde; which then attempted to retaliate with all manner of Grass-type attacks—only to end up getting singed and burned away due to the extreme heat that Kouji could feel, even from over here. “Alright, Iri. Try to go in close and take out one of the Tangrowth with your Punishment attack, okay? Try to stay out of the line of fire!” he shouted as the Diapered ‘mon squawked out loud before quickly waddling over in order to be able to assist the Slugma in taking down the plant horde!
Meanwhile, over at where the Slugma was…
The two Tangrowth had gone off and used Growth twice more again; annoyed and angry at the fact that they were not able to hit the Slugma the first time; and they felt the stat increase affect them; before one of them began to lash out with Constrict! The other Tangrowth had continued to power up itself to the maximum, and was about to join the foray with a very-powered up Constrict attack as well—when something suddenly took it by surprise from behind; it was the Vullaby that had snuck up on them and used its attack in order to subdue the other Tangrowth! Over from where he stood, he then bellowed, “Alright, Irina, keep it up! Punishment, then Steel Wing! Liekki, keep up the firepower with that Lava Plume attack, don’t stop until they’re passed out!” and then squinted through the heat haze, trying to see just what the hell was going on. The Slugma continued to rain down plume after plume; after plume of flames on the little gathering of five; and the Vullaby continued to taunt the Tangrowth it had already attacked with a surprise Punishment attack with another instance of the same attack; only for it to be caught be the Constrict attack!
In retaliation, the Vullaby then hardened her wings and veered in close for a Steel Wing attack; while there was fire raining down from above on the shell-shocked Tangela—two had barely managed to get away; but one wasn’t so lucky; it had been hit over and over again with blasts of flame and the heat had overloaded its system, causing the tangelo to conk out on the ground! Now that it was down to just the Tangrowth, the pillars of fire became hotter and hotter—driving off one of the two Tangrowth in order to regroup—while the second one had gone down under a hail of Punishment attacks from the Vullaby who continued charging, despite the fact that her Speed had been reduced somewhat! Now that the rain of fire was receding, he then looked up and then saw that there were two inert figures on the ground, being circled by two ‘mons… and then plucked out an Ultra, as well as his last remaining PokeBall, out and then caught the two inert vine-creatures, watching as they vanished in the flash of red light, before falling to the ground…

Kouji watched as the two balls he’d tossed sucked in the mass of vines, and then three pairs of eyes stared at the two capsules with some apprehension; they then heard the dinging sound go off once, twice… on the third time, it was a successful capture! He then raised his hands out of relief, and the Vullaby gave a squawk in his direction; while the Slugma continued to leer at the two captured ‘mons that were now sent off towards his Ranch—but they wouldn’t last too long their either, because he had to deliver them to the purchaser.
“Well, we can head back to the town again. I need to get you guys rested up and check on something…” he trailed off, quickly recalling the two and then turning tail, before heading out of the waist-high grass and then heading back to Sandgem in order to refresh his team and be able to re-group, so that they could continue the search for the particular little bunny that they were looking for.
