Krokorok training
271
Kouji was not surprised to see the amount of ‘mons he had wandering and rolling about the Ranch were of the Ghost type; with Psychic being a close second! Sighing to himself, he then decided to go out on another round of Unova’s unusual “hunting grounds” before setting out to once again to Kalos; apparently his own benefactor had supplied him with some interesting information that could make him get richer if he played his cards right! For now, though, he needed to look around for some more possible breeding options—who knows what he was going to find this time around.
He also knew that he was going to a potentially disaster-filled area, so he decided to wear something a bit more…weather appropriate. His binge-buying over boots had led him to pick up a pair that was desert-worthy so here he was now, wearing something that could keep as much sand out as possible; while still looking comfortable. He also had a pair of binoculars hanging around his neck, though no thanks to the sandstorm that seemed to be always around the Desert Resort, this was rendered almost useless.
That and I know Hiekka needs to get some exercise… he’d be perfect for this area, he thought to himself with a small grin on his face before sucking it up and plunging into the sand-infested area of the Unova region. Even if civilization as already catching up with it, there were still some areas that were practically untouched, this one being a prime example of that little “nature’s beauty” that was left for tourists and locals to protect and cherish.

it became training

After stumbling around the area (and almost swallowing sand a few times due to the ferocity of the swirling grit in the area) Kouji made his first discovery—and was surprised to see that it was just staring at him, wondering what he was doing in this wild, wild world. “Huh. No attacking me, then?” he said for a moment, before deciding against it and plucking a certain Pokeball out and releasing its occupant in a flash of red light; revealing Hiekka the Krokorok. “Ah there we go, Hie. No more time to be lazy, go and beat that thing up now! Dig a hole!” he began, pointing towards the Scraggy that was just leering at him… before pulling up what appeared to be its… underpants?! That almost made him laugh out loud, but he decided not to, since there was a very real possibility of sand getting into his mouth and he didn’t want that. In its defense, said Scraggy then pulled off a very menacing face—but it ended up making Kouji laugh instead, because his Krokorok was now underground, waiting for the perfect time to attack!
Realizing what was going on, it then kicked up some sand—but the Sand Attack was a bit on the late side, since at that moment the Krokorok then came out of the ground and then slammed its body weight—along with the dirt that came along with it—in a Dig attack! After that, the Krokorok skidded back, before the Scraggy came in charging this time, aiming to bust a punch on it when Kouji followed up the orders with, “Try to scare the wits out of it then bring on an Earthquake!” and the Krokorok roared, before revealing a very wicked-looking face, fangs bared at the Krokorok—and it stopped midway, being caught by surprise due to the shining teeth in its maw—and then the ground beneath it erupted in a violent shaking motion. Kouji had to steel his legs because even at the point where he was standing, he could feel the Earthquake affecting him; and then the Scraggy toppled over, being tossed and turned due to the effect of the Ground-type attack that had hit it.
“Psh, c’mon Hie, we’re on the search. Let’s go,” he continued, making a whistling noise and gesturing for the Krokorok to follow him deeper into the drift. At least he knew that the Krokorok wouldn’t be too bothered with the bad weather conditions in the area!

daru-darumaka

Was it just something, or did he just hear his phone go off right at that very moment? He then wondered if something was up as he then checked his pockets and fished out his mobile phone, holding it really close and trying to make out the message despite the howling weather condition around them. Call it real ironic because look at what I just found here… people are actually looking for that certain Pokémon? He thought to himself as he scrolled down the messages and saw that there were two individuals looking for a Fire-type named Darumaka. He then squinted through the grit and then cracked a grin, before saying, “Well what do you know, looks like these guys are in hot pursuit. Okay, Hie! Let’s isolate two of ‘em and get cracking, we don’t have too much time to waste here!” he said, pointing towards the noticeable hulking shadow not too far ahead of himself and the Krokorok—it looked like to be a normal Darumaka family, with three kids and two parents; and Kouji had conveniently forgotten the name of Darumaka’s evolved form.
“Drats. Okay, first things first… let me get out of the way,” he began, steeling his legs as he plowed his way through the sand, before cupping his hands to his mouth and letting the improvised “cone” magnify his voice over the howling weather, “Hie, Earthquake them now! Try to get the parents away from the kids, they’re going to go territorial…” he trailed off, suddenly feeling this pang of guilt—why did they need to be separated? He knew business was business though, and watched as the Krokorok then held its hands up high; as if summoning something to come from the heavens—or the earth. It didn’t happen at first; then a few moments later, the ground began to shake. It then intensified and he was forced to shift his center of gravity as the Krokorok continued to unleash the full power of its Earthquake attack, sending the Darumaka squealing in surprise and out of range of their overprotective parents. Once this was done, he then realized he needed to send out a second accomplice, and then decided against it due to the bad weather—he knew that only certain types could survive the Sandstorm at the current rate.
“Okay Hie, one more Earthquake attack, and then close in for a Foul Play move, because this is going to get nasty—“ he trailed off after seeing one of the two separated Darumaka children suddenly charge forward, and fro what he could barely see through the grit, it was attempting to use one of its Fire-based attacks on it! it had no time to change direction and hit the Krokorok, however—as another Earthquake ripped through the area, the two were violently tossed together, hitting each others’ heads before rolling off to one side. The Krokorok then quickly closed the gap and unleashed its own “retaliation” attack against the Darumaka that had tried to challenge him, turning its attack’s power on its user; something that should normally not be done against a Krokorok under normal circumstances. Kouji, on the other hand, had to walk forward to see what was going on further ahead—because of all the flying sand, it became quite hard to see just what exactly was happening in the battle up ahead. “Okay, Dig attack and knock them into submission! Go!” he continued, and watched as the crocodile-alligator quickly dived into the sand, snaking its way underneath the two. The two Darumaka children looked around in confusion, before seeing a dark shadow darting out of the ground… and then effectively using the grit against them, knocking them both out cold.
“Harsh much?” he muttered to himself, slogging through the grit and then arriving at the scene sometime later, before chucking two empty Pokeballs at the fallen targets.

and done

He was waiting quite nervously, even going forward as fast as he could dare in order to keep track of the Pokeballs that had fallen to the gritty earth. He knew that his Krokorok was leering over the two fallen capsules, watching them until his master arrived on the scene, and he then pointed towards them with a swish of his tail. He then saw the Pokeballs shake once, twice… before clicking; a sign that they had been successfully captured. “Excellent,” he said with a grin on his face, scooping them up and dropping them down his shorts pocket. What Kouji forgot to realize, however, was the little fact that they would get deported to his PC space in a short bit… he then felt his pockets suddenly going a bit lighter than they were earlier!
“What the?!” he said, quickly shoving his hands through his pockets but only coming up with six Pokeballs, one of which he used to recall his Krokorok—then realized that he was only supposed to have six on-hand, the rest would inevitably end up in his Ranch… well, at least that’s how his PC set-up was anyway. Knowing that the clients who had ordered the Darumaka would be looking for them, he decided to place the ad on his “stall” once he’d gotten out of the area; for now he was looking for something else as he continued to go deeper into the Desert Resort.
