"No no, THAT is a huge ass" Josh would mutter, gently booting Izumi in the rear end with his foot a bit playfully, smirking faintly. A tease in the middle of the night? That was new. But this wasn't the time for that sort of thing, despite the great timing for the retort, as he would eagerly watch this ceremony continue. The cabbage patch of Bulbasaur would watch as the Venusaur would let out a loud "SAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUR!" Which admittedly hurt Josh's ears a bit. The Bulbasaur would let out a rough "SAAAAUUUUUUUURRRR!" In response, seeming to be mimicking the Venusaur with it's song. The fields of flowers would begin to bloom around them, the dead tree behind the Venusaur would suddenly begin to come to life, with cherry blossoms blooming on it's branches as if it had life all over again. Finally, the Venusaur would let out one more loud....
Before Josh or Izumi could react, all of the Bulbasaur would begin glowing... It was time. "Wh-They're... They're evolving!" Josh let out, as quietly as he could. "Pika?" Lightning questioned curiously, tilting his head. Really? Even Gustave and Ariadne were evolving as well, which Josh noted...
"Whoa... G-Gustaves evolving too!" Josh would point out in a whisper, pointing toward his own Bulbasaur. "So is Ariadne, Izumi!" He would add. Finally, the glowing would stop... And the Bulbasaur would all re-emerge as a pack of Ivysaur!
"Haha! They all evolved!" Josh let out as quiet as he could. "That... That was amazing! I can't believe we got to see it..." He whispered toward Izumi excitedly.

The raven-haired girl then felt a sensation of someone squishing her behind, and quickly turned around as silently as she could manage and catching the tip of Josh’s shoe making contact with her jammies—to which she then made an immediate attempt at smacking him as quietly as she could manage. She had to stop herself though, because any loud noise would catch their attention—and they might get booted out of their current location… or worse.
She could tell that her Braviary was getting pretty antsy as well—for there were several feathers now littering the spot where he stood, and all she could do was to gently pat him on the wings. “Shhh, Sora… just a bit longer…” she trailed off before returning her attention to the phenomena that was happening below...
A sudden burst of light poured out from all the assembled Bulbasaur below, and she couldn’t believe it; that strange, rough ceremony had actually been the ‘trigger’ that would eventually cause all of them to evolve in a single shot?! As the lights show came to a close, she then blinked and saw… a literal mass of what appeared to be their next evolutionary form; and she quickly raked through the assembled mass, trying to pick out where her Ariadne was; why did they all look the same?!
“Note to self: give Ariadne an identifying characteristic, like a ribbon or something,” she hissed, resisting the urge to smack her palm to her forehead; just in case they were overheard from far below. “Okay, now that it’s over… should we head on back now…?” she remarked sometime later, unable to believe she’d witnessed (albeit from a distance) her own Ariadne finally growing up!

Josh smirked faintly at Izumi's failed attempt to get him back. He had been quiet, subtle. Any response on her part would be loud, and they both knew that she couldn't do that. It was the perfect plan at that moment. He would shoot her a cheeky grin afterword, a subtle, small one, but enough for Izumi to notice before he would look back at the ceremony that was taking place in front of them. Just a simple "I win" grin over at her, of course. Because indeed, he had won this round, had he not?
Josh noted that her Braviary was getting antsy. Why the hell hadn't she brought it's Pokeball, he thought? I mean, sure, that could be said for Lightning and his Pokeball as well, but Lightning was rarely ever in his ball, at least Josh had an excuse. The Pikachu actually slept with him, ate with him, breakfast, lunch and dinn dinn. Even snacks, he shared with that hungry gourmet Pikachu. Lightning even tried to brush his teeth when Josh was doing so, and Josh even combed his fur for him in the morning. Point is, Josh had an excuse. Where was the noisy Braviary's ball? Damnit Izumi, you had one job. ONE JOB!
Josh watched with awe as the light show would end, as every single Bulbasaur in the garden would slowly turn into an Ivysaur, including Gustave and Ariadne. Luckily, Josh had been watching Gustave, who had Ariadne to his left, quite carefully, so he'd be able to pick him out in particular when he evolved. He had a big smile on his face, mesmerized from actually getting to see the ceremony, and having those normal evolution jitters of joy from getting to see Gustave grow up and evolve. Their disappointment from before had turned into joy, and Josh had a big smile on his face.
Josh would take a breath and nod toward Izumi when she would inquire as to if they should go home. "We should probably go home" He said quietly. "If Gustave and Ariadne were able to find their way here, they'll be able to find their way back. I have faith in them" He said, as the cabbages would keep singing, now with "Ivy-Ivy-Ivy-Saur!" As if it were some kind of ending song for the Mysterious Garden Ceremony. It was like some kind of big Bulbasaur graduation ceremony... And Josh was delighted that he had gotten to see it.
He would rise to his feet, letting Lightning climb onto his shoulder. He hoped that they'd have no trouble getting back, but if the vines were still there, he hoped that they could just get back to the ranch via Izumi's Braviary when they were far away enough from the Saurs to fly home without accidentally being spotted by them.
Josh would wrap an arm around Izumi, and look back at the singing Ivysaur. He would look over at Izumi with that smile still plastered on his face. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" He whispered, listening to the new song. "I can't believe we actually got to see the ceremony, even if it was by accident... I mean, imagine... We might be the only human beings that have actually seen this ceremony, ever. Might, of course, I'm sure we're not the only ones, but... There's always a possibility" He said quietly, chuckling. "Still... I'm excited. I got to see my Gustave evolve when I thought I wouldn't be able to. As his Trainer... That makes me happy"
In the trees nearby where the Ivysaur and Venusaur were doing their Farewell Song, something would twinkle, a bit of a red flash... Not enough to blind anybody, but it was like a star twinkling, letting out a subtle sound. But like that, it was gone. "... Huh? Did you see that?" Josh would inquire toward Izumi as he had noticed it. Maybe it was nothing? But, somehow, he had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach...
"Pika?" Lightning let out quietly as his ears perked up. He could feel something... Something that the two humans couldn't. But Izumi's Braviary would be able to feel it too. A weird tingling. Of course, they were both immune to whatever it was, but they could sense it in the air...
Josh noticed something odd as he peered down though... Some of the Ivysaur's eyes were... Strange. An odd red hue. Not all of them. Half of them. Half of them, he assumed, were Trainer Ivysaur, Bulbasaur that had come for the festival after training with their Trainers when they were ready to evolve. But he noted that Gustave and Ariadne both weren't like that... But many of them were, and they had paused. As did the Venusaur, who to Josh's horror also had the red, menacing eyes...
Something wasn't right.
Before any of them could react, one half of the Ivysaur, plus the Venusaur, would let out a roar before... They started attacking the other Ivysaur! The confused non-attacking Ivysaur would run around, trying to calm down or run away from their friends turned aggressors. Among the non-aggressors were Gustave and Ariadne, which told Josh that it was the wild Ivysaur that were attacking, and somehow, the Trainer ones weren't effected!
The Venusaur would suddenly attack with Power Whip, whipping at the Ivysaur all over the place, whether they were the red-eyed ones or non-red eyed. "What's going on?" Josh would exclaim, his eyes widening. How had this beautiful ceremony suddenly been ruined by the Ivysaur attacking one another? By the weird red hue in the eyes of half of them, plus the Venusaur, he knew this wasn't a normal thing, this wasn't part of the ceremony...
"This isn't part of the ceremony" He spoke toward Izumi with a knowing look as he would quickly slide down the hill, dashing toward Gustave to try and help him. He knew it was likely that Izumi would be right behind him to go get Ariadne, he thought as Lightning clung to Josh's shoulder for dear life. He would weave through the battling Ivysaur, eventually able to reach Gustave, just as the Venusaur's vines would come down on the poor Ivysaur. "Gustave!" Josh called as he put himself in front of his Ivysaur, just in time to be struck with the vines.
"Guh!" He emitted in pain as he fell to his knees from the excruciating pain. "Pika-Pi!" Lightning would cry out. "Ivy!" Gustave let out in surprise and horror, running to his Trainer's side. "C-come on... L-Let's go..." Josh would groan out in pain as he managed to get up. Just in time too, as Josh heard a buzzing sound coming from not too far away...
"That.... That doesn't sound good" Josh whispered.
Oh, no it wasn't.
A swarm of Beedril, all with the same red eyes as the attacking Ivysaur, suddenly emerged from the trees and would charge down toward all that were in the garden, attacking in a rage. "RUN!" Josh would call to Izumi, Lightning, Gustave and Ariadne as he broke into a run to the nearest exit out of the garden, with Lightning and Gustave fleeing after him.

Thankfully, the Brav had a bit more patience left even after all this time. The avian then turned to look curiously at where his owner was watching, gaping at the scenery below—sometimes he couldn’t fully understand what his human was thinking. All that mattered to the Brav was that he was fed, nurtured and taken care of; and that was what was important to him. He then bent over to address another annoying spot near his wing joint when he thought he felt something…like a twitch, cutting through the air. “Brav?” he looked up all of a sudden; his senses on high alert and were most likely screaming ‘danger’ at this point in time.
Over at where the female raven-haired Trainer was still watching, she then looked up in alarm and stared over to where her companion was watching the scene below unfold with much horror—what had set off half of the assembled Pokémon to go crazy and just flat-out attack the other half of the crowd?! “What on earth…” she trailed off, before watching the gigantic ‘leader’ suddenly lash out at the gathered ‘mons with reckless abandon! She was about to shout out when she realized that her companion was no longer beside her—having gotten a head start and sliding down the hill without her! She then whistled a loud, sharp note—and the Brav who was still addressing a problem spot then looked up before squawking.
“Come on, Sora! We have to go help out Josh!” she shouted, and the Brav quickly sprung into the air, hovering before her—letting her slide on his back before zipping down where Josh had scampered on ahead, aided by a burst of Tailwind. “I know, I’m on it!” she shouted, rocketing past him and flattening herself as the Brav then quickly began cutting through the cavalcade of stampeding Pokémon, before finally picking out where Ariadne was—having stood by Gustave all this time! “JOSH!” she screeched, as the Brav came to a sharp halt, before realizing that there was a loud buzzing noise that had cut through the air.
“Oh, shit, you’ve got to be kidding…” the female hissed, looking behind him and seeing that there was a swarm of incoming aggressors! “JOSH! GET ON! HURRY!” she yelled, quickly urging her Sora to fly as fast as he could manage—having already scooped up the now-Ivysaur by his claws. She heard her ‘saur make a few grumbling noises, but she shouted over the din, “Ari, just bear with Sora! We kind of need to get the hell out of here! SORA! TAILWIND!” she shouted, flattening herself and letting the Brav’s natural speed take over as they beat a rather hasty, unceremonious retreat out of the garden!

Thankfully, Izumi had brought her Braviary along, and better yet, had brought it down with her to try and bail Josh out of a jam. Good, because as they ran, Josh could hear something that he hated so much, but also feared like the plague.
Beedrill.
The swarm of them had erupted from the trees and Josh's eyes widened when he realized they were there. Luckily for him, Izumi had told him to hop on. And that he did. Lightning climbed onto his shoulder, and Josh would quickly scoop up his new Ivysaur, Gustave, in his arms as he would quickly climb onto the Braviary behind Izumi. "Step on it! Those things are gonna make a beeline for the bigger targets!" Josh would call toward Izumi, motioning toward the Beedrill swarm going toward them, with some deciding to attack the Ivysaur and Venusaur below them.
Josh would hang on best he could as the Braviary would use Tailwind, closing his eyes as he held onto Gustave and Lightning, his first priority being to keep them safe as the Beedrill would continue to give chase.

The situation was looking dire, to say the least—and the moment the Brav felt the increased weight piling on his back, he knew he had to go much faster than he normally would have gone. “J, flatten yourself as much as you can! So that Sora can fly faster!” she shouted from her current position, very nearly hugging the avian’s body and snorting up the feathers that were tickling her nose due to how she’d squished herself on the Flying-type’s back. “Also, no need to screech, I can hear you just fine,” she muttered—but more to herself than to the man who was most probably trying his best not to freak out while astride a Pokémon that he wasn’t used to riding on.
“Bank hard to the right, go straight up! Tailwind if you have to!” she urged her Flying-type with a few gentle pats; and the avian then let out a very loud screech as the buzzing noise was picking up in intensity—who knew that the Beedrills that were being driven mad by the same strange occurrence that had caused a rampage of half the Ivysaur would be propelled to chase them down?! “NOW YOU TELL ME!” she shouted over the din of the roaring wind; before feeling the Flying-type zoom out as fast as he could manage, passengers included.
“Sora! Go faster, faster! If you don’t go any faster we’re going to die!” she yelled at the top of her voice and felt the sudden screech reverberating from her Flying-type—he was also struggling to keep a hold on the Ivysaur in his claws as he flew up as fast as his wings (and the Tailwind) could manage!

Well, this whole situation certainly wasn't getting any better anytime soon. Granted, he hoped that this would change, and fast, because he didn't know if this giant 'Murica bird could go fast enough. Between the buzzing, and the flapping of the Braviary's wings, Josh could make out the screams of Izumi as she told him to flatten himself. Josh nodded, holding onto Lightning and Gustave best he could as he tried to flatten himself on the Braviary to free up as much weight as possible. They needed to go faster, or those things, as enraged as they were, would probably kill them!
"I thought it was pretty damn obvious they were after us!" Josh would call out in response to Izumi's complaints. "Go, go go!" He'd yell out as the Braviary would use Tailwind. Josh would grit his teeth, not able to watch.... Finally, he could hear the buzzing fade out as they ended up far away from the garden.
"Land, down there!" Josh called, noting they were back right above the ranch. "Just near the house! We can take shelter there if necessary!"

Now that the ‘drag’ had been sufficiently decreased, the avian then shot right into the sky, letting the adrenaline-fueled state lead him to fly as fast as he could legitimately manage, away from the crazy swarm of Beedrill that were threatening to sting them to death. Once everyone on board had managed to calm down, the raven-haired girl turned around to look at her companion, who was looking a bit on the pale side due to the fact that he was holding on as tightly as he could to his own Ivysaur. “Huh… oh, really?” she remarked, looking down and seeing familiar stretches of land. True enough, the Ivysaur that was clutched in the Braviary’s talons began to cause a racket; to which theFlying-type could only snicker softly.
“Alright, Sora, you heard the man, bring us down for a landing,” she said, patting the Brav’s back in order to let him know that he was good to go. “Brav,” the Flying-type squawked in response, slowly but surely angling themselves down for a landing. “Err… you might want to let Ariadne hop down before you fully land,” she remembered a few seconds later, to which the Ivysaur below snorted; and the Brav snickered. The overloaded avian then came in for a circling landing, stopping a few feet above the ground in order to let the Ivysaur jump out from her position, before fully landing and then hitting the ground with a thudding noise. “Alright, we’re here,” she said a few moments later, patting the avian before sliding off his back. “Saur!” came the affirming cry from the now-evolved Ariadne, who raised a few vines in greeting.
“What the hell happened back there,” she remarked, watching and waiting for him to dismount from the Flying-type. Once he’d done so, the exhausted Braviary would proceed to flop over on the grass and just pass out for a well-deserved snooze, causing the Ivysaur to chuckle in her own dialect. “Saur, saur! Ivyyy!” the female Ivysaur continued, before rushing forward and tackling Izumi right in the stomach. “Oof," she commented, scooping up the much-bigger Grass-type and then patting her on the head. “Well, yeah, J. Care to explain?” she persisted further.

Finally, the Braviary would stop and begin to land. Gustave was getting antsy, so he would let him drop down when Ariadne did. He was heavier now, he had noted, so it was hard to keep carrying Gustave during this ride. It seems evolving him made him gain a few pounds. "Saur!" Gustave let out as he would drop down besides Ariadne. With that, Josh would relax as the Braviary would land. He couldn't hear the Beedrill anymore, which was strange. Why had their rage quelled so quickly? It was as if once they had reached a certain point, the Beedrill were no longer angry, and had just... Gone home. As if whatever had been making them angry was no longer in range.
Once the Braviary landed, Josh would fall off, landing on his back on the ground and groaning, trying to catch his breath, as did Lightning, lying beside him. "Ugh... What WAS that?" He would ask, the same question as Izumi. He would sit up as Izumi would demand an explanation, laughing a bit as Gustave would jump into his arms. "Yes, Gustave, I'm very proud of you!" Josh would encourage toward the Ivysaur as he patted his head. "I'm just glad you're safe and that we found you. I don't know what I would have done if they'd hurt you" He said, nuzzling his Ivysaur. "Ivy! Ivysaur!" Gustave would remark, laughing in its Bulba, now Ivysaur language from the affection. Josh would take a breath and look over at Izumi.
"I... I don't know" He'd admit. "It just happened out of nowhere. The ones that became aggressive had red eyes and just attacked everything in sight..."
Josh's eyes widened as he would remember something horrifying.
"I-I-Izumi...." Josh would trail off, going pale. "The red eyes... Those look familiar from somewhere... D-Don't you remember when we went to the Badlands for training?" He would ask her, looking at her with a horrified expression.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Apr 28, 2015 8:07:39 GMT -5
Izumi could only chuckle at the state of her Braviary; who looked like he’d gone off and drunk an entire casket of sake due to his passed-out state on the grass; before returning her attention to the Ivysaur that was now attempting to noogie her with its vines in order to get her attention back. She’d already been on the receiving end of several ‘slapping’ gestures from her Ivysaur, before she looked up and wondered why the look on his face was one of complete and utter horror. It then dawned on her as he then explained what had happened—and at the mention of the Badlands back in Kalos, it then clicked in her mind.
She then very nearly dropped Ariadne back on the grass out of shock; the Ivysaur was now nuzzling in her hands and she felt the weight pressing in on her. “Oh, crap…” she muttered, before quickly crouching down as close as she could to the ground and letting her Ivysaur hop off for the time being, before she stood back up again and matched his look with a horrified one of her own. “Shit, don’t tell me it’s the same as the one we experienced in the Desert Resort in Unova, too?!” she spuittered out, suddenly remembering that one time when their training expedition in the desert regions of that region came crashing back down on her.
“But… how, when… wait, how did they get all the way out here to Nue, and where was that machine-like thing supposed to be? What the hell are they up to?!” she continued to stammer out; reeling from the realization that she’d just stumbled upon.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Apr 28, 2015 22:18:02 GMT -5
Josh would nod softly, closing his eyes as he tried to process all that had happened. How could this have happened? Why were these things happening in Nue? He figured that this was a problem in Unova... Not HERE! "It seems to be happening in several regions, but why?" Josh would ask Izumi quietly, taking a breath. "Somethings going on here... It couldn't have been a coincidence that all the Ivysaur and that Venusaur, and those Beedrill, would all develop red eyes and then attack everything in sight conveniently at the Mysterious Garden Ceremony. It's impossible. It had to have been done by humans" Josh said, shaking his head. "It had to have been done deliberately... But why?" He whispered, obviously frustrated. How dare these people do something like this to Pokemon!
"We should go check the place out again tomorrow morning. See what we can find" Josh said, taking a breath as he got up. "But for now... It's best we get back to bed before mom realizes we're gone. We're all exhausted from the ordeal" He said. "Gustave, you can sleep with Lightning and me tonight. You've earned it" Josh said with a chuckle. "Ivy? Ivysaur!" Gustave would chirp happily as he would pad alongside Josh and the Pikachu as they headed into the house.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Apr 29, 2015 8:00:29 GMT -5
“I’m not going to complain about checking the place out tomorrow, I’m actually wondering why that same thing would happen all the way out here. Are they deliberately chasing us, or they’re just doing this to mess with… wait a second, is it just the two of us who’re experiencing this phenomenon or something?” Izumi began, suddenly dropping off and getting lost in her own train of thought. Because the way you mentioned it, it’s like they’re deliberately only doing this while we’re around… so I don’t know… but either way, I think something’s definitely wrong… are they chasing Josh down, and him alone…? She mused to herself in the back of her mind while waiting for him to give a definite answer.
It was at the point he’d mentioned that his mum would throw a fit that she realized that it was well into the morning—and then her stomach rumbled rather loudly at that mention. “Oh… oh yeah,” she remarked with a sheepish grin on her face before scratching the back of her head. “Gah, I need to get a bath… might as well start cooking breakfast while we’re at it,” she added as she took a sniff and recoiled slightly—she didn’t realize that her entire body was sticky with sweat due to all the adrenaline and all the crazy happenings that had occurred just now.
“Plus, we got to leave those two alone. Let ‘em get used to their new forms. C’mon, I know that you’re hungry as much as I am,” she ended with a grin, before she made her way over to him and attempted to haul him back into the house.
