Josh was hurting, he would admit to that. He wasn't so prideful as to pretend he couldn't cry like some kind of tough guy. But at the same time, they didn't need his tears... Sure, they were there for him, but this was supposed to be his date with Izumi, one that he knew she had wanted. It wasn't fair to her... Still, the blonde looked over as Izumi and her mother would join him, and Lightning would climb onto his lap and snuggle up to him. He sniffled a bit, trying to hold it in. But... He couldn't. He probably looked ridiculous, he knew. But he'd been holding all of this in for years. Not once had he told this story in full, and he had been trying to keep it all in despite how much it had pained him. Finally, he broke into tears as he buried his face in Izumi's shoulder, seeking her comfort. She meant a lot to him, and he knew he could put his trust in her...

Izumi wasn’t really expecting the tall, the brawny, the mighty, hail-to-all bad-ass Joshua Dragomir had been actually bottling up something this horrible; and really needed a good cry. Aw come on, you don’t have to ask, she thought to herself with a pensive look on her face as both women converged on him, the younger lady hugging him from one side, while her mother had taken the other side and was now rubbing the young man’s back. The two women knew that he really did need some comfort, and that’s what they would be giving him; in spades.
“You know, you don’t have to keep it all to yourself,” she began, rubbing the back of his head; before letting him literally sob all over her shoulder. “It must be tough having to live with this inside you every day…” the younger raven-haired Trainer commented softly, before adjusting her position on the sofa a little bit; in order to get a bit more comfortable. “If it helps, you can come over and talk with me if you’re in the area,” Hiromi piped up in the same soft whisper.
“If you’re not comfortable talking about it with your mother, that is. Just remember that there are people here who care about you—and I’m pretty sure that my Izumi is one of them,” she added with a soft chuckle—which then caused the younger girl’s ears to flush a particularly hot shade of red. “Mum!” she hissed back, attempting to hold back the blush that was spreading across her face. “Really now?! Did you just—“ she trailed off before she noticed that her own mother was sassing her right then and there.

Josh hadn't planned to, or wanted, to break out into tears in front of Izumi and her mother. But he couldn't help it. How could he? He had been holding this in for so long, and he felt comfortable with them right now... He just needed a moment to let it all out. He took a deep breath, looking over at Izumi once he'd finished sobbing into her shoulder. He felt better, at least... It was just something he had needed to get out, and it seemed like the right time with people that he could trust. "I'm sorry" He repeated. "This must seem ridiculous to you. I mean, I came here to come visit your mother along with you, and now here I am sobbing like a baby. It doesn't seem fair to you, and I'm sorry to both you and your mother" He said softly, taking a breath as he gently pulled Izumi into a hug, just seeming comfortable with them for the moment.
Once he'd relaxed a bit, he would sit up on the couch, rubbing his eyes. "I'm okay.." He said quietly. "I'm okay... Thank you... That's been weighing on me for a long time..." He whispered.

“There, there… it’s okay to cry. If you have to let it all out, J, just do it, nobody will know,” the younger raven-haired female said in a very soft voice, letting him perch on her shoulder as he let out what she could tell was majority of the emotional distress that he had been carrying for so long a time. “There’s no need to apologize, young man,” the older woman said in the same tone that she’d adapted since earlier. “If you can’t keep it all in, you’re welcome to drop by and have a talk with me—regardless of whether or not my daughter is with you,” she continued; shooting Izumi a rather knowing look.
The younger girl could only blink; before outright stare at what her mother had said; and she then rubbed her companion’s back; taking turns with her mother who was also doing the same thing that she was thinking of. “Well, you heard my ma, her place is open for you to drop by. Besides, I’m pretty sure it gets lonely here on some nights…” she trailed off with a half-hearted attempt at a chuckle, before gently raising her free hand up and slowly messing with the crop of blonde hair that he had.
“That’s what her line of work included back in Ecruteak, ‘m I right, Ma? You’d entertain out on the stage, and once you were done entertaining, the patrons would talk with you and you’d listen…” Izumi added with an encouraging look on her face. “Now, J, come on, we still have the rest of the city to poke around in… unless you want to call it a day for now and just rest here until we head back out to the Wilds?” she offered his way, wondering what he’d think about the unusual inquiry she’d posed.

The young man would nod a bit to their words, pulling Izumi into a tight hug in thanks. He really was grateful for them being there, both Izumi and her mother. There weren't many people there for him in this life, in this existence... He hadn't been able to rely on his parents as they were so busy for much of his life. Hell, Serena even knew this. One of the reasons, he knew, why she was so overbearing and protective and trying to always be there was because she never was while Josh was a child. Like his father, she was always busy too, and later in life, he knew that she had grown to regret that. While he was in Kotaku in the wilds, he had nobody but his Pokemon... Not a single human being that truly understood him. Even in Hoenn and Nue, it was sparse little. Now... He felt like he could let it out, to someone who cared, who actually understood and cared about him... And for that, he was happy.
"I'll do that, thank you" He spoke softly toward her mother's offer, smiling faintly when they spoke of her doing entertainment on stage before listening to people. "Funny... I was studying to be a counselor with my psychology degree before I came out here, as I mentioned" He added. Did she do stand up, he wondered?
To Izumi's offer, he shook his head. "It's your date, Zu, you choose. I'm fine either way" He said. "If you wanna keep going, I can. Just got a bit sentimental is all" He snarked softly with a chuckle.

“Seriously, J. You’ve been going full-blast ever since we’ve arrived in Nue, you need to slow down a bit and take a breather from time to time. I don’t mind if we callit a day for now; I’m sure my mom can use the company… as a matter of fact… I’ll get back to the kitchen and prepare dinner for all of us… I sure hope you don’t mind staying over here for the evening. Uhh, Ma? ‘sit okay with you if we stay here for the night? I know you miss having company over, so… yeah…” the younger raven-haired female trailed off with an apprehensive, concerned look before returning the hug and finally managing to stand up some several minutes later.
The older woman then cracked the most devious-looking grin on her face, staring at her daughter before finally nodding. “I wouldn’t mind having you over tonight. I’m always here to listen, so if you want to continue with your story, young man, please feel free to do so. Either that, or if you want to see some other pictures…” she trailed off, watching as Izumi then made her way back into the kitchen, in order to get the food ready. “I have some other pictures I’d like to show you, and I know she wouldn’t like it when she’s around… just keep it a secret between ourselves, okay?” Hiromi added in an undertone, reaching over to one side of the sofas before extracting another photo album and then handing it to him to peruse.
If he cared to look, this album mostly contained pictures of a much-older Izumi hanging out around the town, while near the very end of the album were some black-and-white colored photographs; but instead of Izumi, it showed Hiromi as a much younger individual, dressed up all fancily in the kimono that the Kimono Girls from Johto preferred. It was topped off with a group picture of the dancers all outside the Ecruteak Theater in the old region; along with some additional pictures and preserved posters from her former days as a dancer.

"Alright, alright" Josh said, taking a breath as the blonde scratched his head. "I mean, you wanted this today, I can keep going, it's no problem I promise" He would add. "But... I guess if you want to stay here, that's fine. We'll stay the night if that's okay with..." He trailed off, looking toward Izumi's mother. He would nod when she seemed to find this acceptable.
He smiled faintly to her answer. "Well, there isn't much of the story to tell now, I've told you pretty much everything really" He explained. "Well, besides the part where we decided it'd be a good idea for Izumi and me to room together in the same house that's currently being built, but that's another story entirely" He joked with a chuckle, wiping his eyes with his sleeve. At the mention of the pictures, a grin would slowly start to cross his lips as he nodded. "Deal. Will keep it a secret" He said as he would watch Hiromi grab another photo album. He would gently open it, taking care not to break anything. Lightning climbed onto his lap to get a peek at the photos as well.
The blonde chuckled as he looked through the pictures, tilting his head when it got to the kimono girls outfit pictures of Hiromi. Huh, Izumi wasn't kidding about her being a kimono girl. He wondered if Izumi had been made to wear those outfits as well?
