It was the New Year—albeit an extremely cold one. It meant one other thing for Izumi, though—it was another opportunity to start poking at the Ruins that were scattered across Nue. After ringing up a certain number and leaving a certain message to the individual she’d called, she then bundled up as best as she could—it was cold and snowy, that’s for sure. She’d also made sure that her thermal underwear was on fine, before slipping into the thickest, best winter wear she had with her. Now that she was on her way to the Ruins, she could only guess as to how Josh was going to arrive. Either by Charizard or something else a lot more grandiose. Arceus help me if he’s taking the motorbike… she thought to herself as she slowly made her way down the slippery path, remembering the last time she’d gone on this particular stretch of road she’d almost slipped and kissed the wet, frozen asphalt.
Thankfully she wasn’t going as fast as she was the last time, rather choosing to traverse down the slippery path as slowly as she could manage. The problem with the Ruins was that no two seemed to be the same; and no matter how hard she’d try to make her Gardevoir memorize the entrance point of one of them, they’d end up in another place entirely. There was this…weird thing, this weird feeling that she could pick up just slightly each and every time they traversed the Ruins—she knew that her Gardevoir picked up a lot more than those weird twinges that she felt from time to time, and she suspected that her Lucario could sense the same too. Sometimes I’m glad I’m not like him, seeing weird visions and stuff. That would mess with me a lot. Too much so. She thought as she then waited at the entrance of another set of ruins for her companion to arrive.

The New Year was here, but I wouldn't say new year, new me. Josh felt the same as he did before, obviously. No change, I guess. 2015? Another year. But it was another year spent with Izumi, as romantic and cute as that sounded, so he couldn't complain. But with a new year came a new winter. And Josh hated the pants off winter. Considering the Canadian roots of his writer, he should love snow, right? WRONG. He hated the cold. He hated winter, the only good thing about Winter was that there were less stingy insects going around stinging people and shit because they're dicks like that. But surprise surprise, Josh wasn't on either Charizard or hovorcycle. This time, he was on a Dragonite!
"GROOOO!" Gawain let out as the blue Dragonite would soar toward the meeting spot. They would land beside Izumi and Josh would hop off, leaning against his Dragonite after the flight practice. "Howdy"

Frankly, Izumi wasn’t too impressed at Josh sailing in for a landing on the strangely-colored Dragonite that she’d seen once previously. “Heh, nice try, man,” she began, snickering—how in the world could she miss the unusual coloration of this Dragon-type back on their tour of the Ranch in Unova? She could only shake her head as she then pointed inwards at the Ruins, before saying, “Come on, let’s get going before all the good things are taken,” with a chuckle, before taking the lead and going straight into the Ruins proper itself. Whether or not he’d keep his Dragonite back in its containment unit she didn’t stay too long to find out, but she really wanted to get searching as quick as possible.
It didn’t take too long before she’d find something—the problem was that she’d already seen this one quite a lot of times in the Kalosian Badlands—and already had one on-hand for when she wanted to evolve Bunji’s Ralts, which she’d named Loki (because she’d never gotten around to asking him what nickname he gave his Ralts before he presented her with her own). Crouching down to pick it up, she then turned it over and over in her hands, before snorting derisively. “Hey, J, take a look at this,” she continued, tossing the Dawn Stone higher for him to see. “Looks like someone lost their rock… and I already got one of ‘em in storage…” she continued, before letting the rock land with a loud slapping noise against her palm, and then leaving it atop a fallen column. “C’mon, let’s look deeper in…” she continued, pointing into the inviting darkness.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found a RARE BONE! A bone that is extremely valuable for Pokémon archeology. It can be sold for a high price to shops.

Josh chuckled a bit, it seemed obvious the Smellynator wasn't impressed with Josh coming in via oddly colored blue and red Dragonite. Oh well. "Hey, at least I'm trying to do something new~" he teased, sticking his tongue out at her. He chuckled to her response and nodded. "Aye, let's go" He said. "Alright Gawain, best to return in case we hit a narrow path. If we need you again, I'll bring you out" He said, before returning Gawain to his Pokeball. "Alright, let's go" He said to Izumi as they headed in.
It wasn't long before Izumi would find something. Some sort of evolution stone. "Huh" He said, tilting his head. "I've bought one or two, they're about 40 bucks in the stores. Won't save you much" He said, taking a breath. And then a crunch, he groaned as he recognized it. One of the blasted bones...
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found WISE GLASSES! Looks like another digger lost their glasses in the dig. Lucky you these are just for show, so you can probably sell them off or keep them for yourself to make yourself look smart?

She thought she heard something splintering, before cracking with a rather audible noise coming from where Josh was walking, and flinched at the sound—it was definitely something not too pretty. “Ouch. What’s with all the rubble anyway? Don’t tell me we’ve already gotten here a bit too late…?” she began, unknowingly walking forward—and then her right foot had landed on something with a rather…forced crunching sound. Wondering what it was she’d stepped on this time around, she then groaned, before plucking a containment unit from her jacket pocket. “I swear, me stepping on unexpected landmines is kind of getting very annoying,” she continued, hissing before she popped the containment unit high, and watched as the flash of red light then unfolded itself into an indigo-colored Blaziken, who then looked around at the weird place she’d woken up to.
“Hi, Zira,” she began, as the Blaziken then began to look around rather curiously, before turning to face her with a rather…inquiring look on her face. “Care to light up the path ahead for us?” she asked, before pointing into the gloom, and with a cough, the weirdly-colored bipedal Pokémon then breathed a ball of indigo fire which then bounced ahead, illuminating the hallways ahead for several moments before fading and puttering out with a small pop. “Well, it was a try…” she trailed off with an embarrassed grin on her face, before she then gestured to the Blaziken to follow her as she took the lead in poking through the rubble and overturned ruins that were littering the location where they were searching right now.
WORDS 266 TAGSJosh Dragomir NOTESIronically the icon is tres appropriate, considering how many pairs of lost glasses she's smashed ever since arriving in Nue

Josh couldn't help but snicker a bit as he looked down to see exactly what kind of landmine Izumi had stepped on this time. "Well Velma, looks like you've lost your glasses again" He teased, nudging her playfully with a smirk. "I'm just waiting for the 'Oh, my glasses! I can't find my glasses!' within a couple of seconds now..." he cracked, making goggles with his hands over his eyes and looking at Izumi. "Don't worry, we always find something... Even if it takes a few runs" He said, letting out a groan as he would step on some kind of stone. Realizing what it was, he would casually proceed to punt it down the hall before watching Izumi bring out her Blaziken.
"Huh, your abomination Inferno relative evolved" He cracked, smirking a bit. "Good to see you" He said to the Blaziken as he watched her try to light up the hallway, but to no avail. "Let me try.... Go, Vulcan!" He said as he brought out his own Blaziken, Vulcan, who Izumi would recognize. "Hey Vulcan, I know you can heat up parts of your body via flames. Could you use that to lighten the way?" He would. Vulcan would nod before his legs would light aflame, giving them some light.
"Bon appetite" He said, feeding Vulcan a biscuit for the help. "After you, Smellynator" He said toward Izumi.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found Keystone!! With Mega Knowledge and the correct Mega Stone, this can make your Pokemon Mega Evolve!

It was as if the cosmos were secretly plotting against her—because who knew that she was going to stumble upon yet another one of the rainbow-colored rocks once again?! Izumi then continued to walk alongside her indigo-colored Blaziken, abruptly turning around and then glowering at him for a second. “You know I don’t wear glasses, and Zira is not an abomination…” she trailed off, and to support this, her own Blaziken then drew herself up to her full six foot three… possibly six foot four-inches tall height, the unusual coloration glowing in an eerie manner. “…and yes, she can hear you just fine, thanks very much,” she continued, turning around and then continuing on into the inky blackness.
She was about to peer around a column when she felt her foot step on something round—before she quickly crouched down in order to check it out. Upon scooping it up, she thought she saw a flicker of color; by holding it much closer to a place where the light shone down, she then realized what it was, yet another one of the weird rocks that she knew about, but couldn’t necessarily use. “Oh… oh, hell. Really?” she continued, shaking the marble up at the ceiling, possibly at something, or someone, that only she could see. “Remember those weird ’gods of luck’ we were talking about…? Guess I’ll take a chance with this and see what the final draw is…” she continued, letting the weird Key Stone roll out of her palm, back onto the ground—where it clattered away in the darkness.

Josh chuckled a bit. "I was kidding. But at least I didn't ignore her completely like you did to Vulcan" He teased with a smirk. Vulcan let out a snort in response and kept on lighting the way. Thanks for ignoring one of the first of Josh's Pokemon you met, Izumi. Y'know, the one you saw evolve into a Combusken? But that would quickly turn into something else when Josh saw just what Izumi had gotten. A. Fucking. Keystone. Again.
Josh would lean against the wall, unable to contain his unroar of laughter. "Pfft, oh my god!" He said, laughing loudly. Even Vulcan couldn't resist laughing a bit along with him. "Another of those things? It's like you're meant to be, Izumi" He teased with a smirk. "Seriously, I think those things are addicted to you and you addicted to them"
But then it was Josh's turn to be unlucky. He blinked as he found something on the ground, leftovers from another explorers lunch. He rolled his eyes and casually kicked it aside.
