It was a few days after their so-called “exploration” and their dinner date (on the side), and already Izumi had picked up a potential buyer for the second Key Stone she’d found on their previous trek. “Heh, I don’t know what’s going on but the thing’s selling like hotcakes,” she began, making sure that she was all bundled up properly—there was a flurry pouring out at where the Ruins area was situated, but thankfully it wasn’t too heavy…yet. The snow was sticking to the ground though, so it would be best to be careful while navigating the area because ice could get extremely slippery. “At least I can make a nice sum off the thing while I’m at it…” she continued, before slowly but surely skidding down the way they usually took in order to arrive at one of the entrances to the Ruins they were going to poke around.
“WHOA! What the hell?!” she shrieked a few moments later, barely catching herself in time before she ended up kissing the frozen asphalt. “Darn it, we should be more careful than this…” she hissed, windmilling her arms while trying to recover from the almost-spill that she’d ran into just now. “Come on, let’s go… I don’t want to get stuck out here in the wilderness without spending Christmas in a place that’s somewhere warm, toasty and full of food,” she continued with a genial grin in his direction, before finally grabbing her trusty flash light and flickering the thing on, and a beam of light poured out of one end, allowing her to search around the area without encountering any more mishaps.

A few days and one dinner date later, Josh and Izumi were already back on track to pull off one more escapade before Christmas. Hopefully, the RNG gods would be merciful and help them find just what they were looking for. That, or they'd be cruel for Christmas. Probably the latter. Alas, he smirked a bit when Izumi spoke about her buyer for the keystone and such. "Yeah, and you ate just as many hotcakes yesterday" he cracked cheekily with a smirk. It was snowing, aye, a white Christmas might be coming. But it sure as hell didn't help them now.
Josh would reach out, widened eyes, as Izumi fell, grabbing her arm as she'd barely caught herself. He'd help pull her up and playfully smack her rear end as he passed, smirking faintly. "Careful there. You already kissed the dirt, don't wanna kiss the ice too, do you?" He teased with a cheeky grin. "You gotta be more careful, Izumi. The ice is slippery, you know that" he lectured afterword though, back to serious. He chuckled at her complaints as they headed further into the ruins, noticing Izumi had taken her flashlight this time. "I could always use one of my Pokemon to light the way again if needed" He offered.

“Well I’m sorry, but the place you took me to just had bacon pancakes on the menu and I ordered a pile of ‘em. I can’t help it, I just love bacon. Anything with bacon tastes good, you should know that,” she cracked, thankfully avoiding a little mishap in front of him. Thankfully he was there to catch her, on the most part, and she was able to recover in time, and they went on their way. Since she had her flash light out, she was now searching, chuckling a bit when she heard him speak up about bringing out another Fire-type in order to be able to search through the entire place. She then remembered the little scene with Inferno seemingly decimating one section of the Ruins last time into nothing but rubble, and then laughed. “Heh, I’ll take up on your offer… next month,” she continued, making a mental note to search through the area when the sun was out and not as dark as the current weather was.
She then began wiggling the beam of the flash light up and down, left and right, trying to see if she would be able to spot something sparkling if the beam of light caught it in time. She continued to do the weird motion—until something seemingly winked up at her from the floor! Wondering if this time was going to be her lucky day, she then slowly and cautiously approached the thing… before chuckling out so loudly, she just wanted to fling herself off a cliff. There, in the light of the beam of the flash light, was another Key Stone. “Really. Seriously?” she began, before chuckling rather immoderately. She then smirked, before saying to Josh, “Come on, let’s look further in. We don’t know what the hell is waiting in there, but hopefully they would be nice to us,” she said with a rather pointed grin.
The “they” that she’d mentioned was something they joked about over that aforementioned dinner, while she was busy scarfing down the pile of bacon pancakes on that date they had not too long after she’d dropped off the second Key Stone she’d found…

Josh stuck his tongue out at her. "Hey, hey. I love bacon too. But holy hell, I've never seen you eat that much" he teased, laughing a bit. "It's no big though. It was on me, I don't blame you" He cracked cheekily. He would smirk a bit to her considering his offer for later. It would certainly be easier to use a fire Pokemon after all, but it seems Izumi just like to waste battery life on her flashlight instead. Fair enough. Her call, he thought. He would yawn and crack his neck, wondering if their luck from before would continue.
Alas, it was not to be. Josh would start laughing when he recognized just what Izumi had found. "Oh lord" He said, laughing even harder. "Another keystone? Damn Izumi, you really have a knack for finding those" he joked with a grin. "Too bad you already have several, as do I. They're almost like junk to us now, as valuable as they actually are. And nobody will buy these for much" He said, sighing and scratching his head. And their luck had indeed dwindled, as Josh would step on something he hated so much. A junk vase, which he would gently kick aside. Ugh. Pass.

“I don’t know why, they just keep throwing themselves at me,” was her crack to his quip—and that was on the Key Stone that she’d stumbled on earlier. Wondering if there was something up with the unseen gods that dictated their fortune, she then continued to poke around—because in all means and essences, she was acting and behaving like a real explorer; and she didn’t have any Fire-types on her right now at the very least. She then smirked and allowed herself a few moments of laughter when he’d mentioned about the bacon thing; what could she say in her defense? It was absolutely correct; she loved bacon among other things when it came to food. After hearing him comment about stumbling upon one of the things that they both secretly hoped to never see again, she then continued to search through the area…
…until, sometime later, she’d finally chanced upon something. Alas, it would have appeared that their “lucky streak” had run out for the month; because right then and there, in the beam of her flash light a thing was revealed—a very nasty something she’d secretly sworn to stamp out of existence. “Looks like you’re right… luck’s not on our side anymore as of late…” she commented with a mutter, shaking her head and skirting her way around the bracelet that was made of stone. If it was a Fossil or something I’d have taken it but nope, so far, nothing good appearing as of the moment… she thought to herself before finally bringing up the suggestion, “Why don’t we search further inside the place? Maybe there’re some rooms that haven’t been ransacked yet…” she trailed off, the doubt hanging in the air for a moment as they came to a crossroads, a fork in the path.

"No idea" He said with a casual shrug. Who knew why Keystones just seemed to flock to Izumi like rats to food? But, he supposed it was still better than junk, even if keystones at this point were basically junk to both Josh and Izumi due to the fact they both already owned multiple of them, and couldn't seem to sell the spares.
Josh would notice Izumi had found something that showed just how bad their luck had gotten right before Christmas. A piece of junk. He let out a sigh and scratched his head. Why was this happening now? So close to Christmas, and their luck had gone down the toilet. Even Josh's safari zone shots had amounted to bad luck. Annnd then Josh raised an eyebrow as he would find something on the ground that made him roll his eyes right after. Another Keystone. "I think this is yours" He joked as he held it up before putting it onto a rotted stone shelf nearby for someone else to find. Pass.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found WISE GLASSES! Looks like another digger lost their glasses in the dig. Lucky you these are just for show, so you can probably sell them off or keep them for yourself to make yourself look smart?

“Hey, I already got one of my own,” she chuckled back at the quip regarding the Key Stone that Josh had found—she didn’t know that he’d left it on a shelf for someone else to stumble across it in the future, so there was that. She continued to look around one of the rooms, trying to paw around the rubble with her gloved hands, flash light in her mouth—when she felt her foot step on something with a rather loud crunch. Realizing what it was a few seconds after she’d stepped backwards, she groaned; knowing that she’d landed right on another pair of unfortunate glasses; and whoever the owner was, definitely couldn’t use them at any rate now.
“Oh, gosh. What’s with people leaving their glasses all over the place? Isn’t that just absolutely evil?” she began, examining the ruined frame before sighing, and then walking right past it. “I just hope our luck hasn’t gone to the dogs yet, because if it has, then what a bad Christmas we have,” she continued with a chuckle; but somewhere in the joke, it was a half-serious, half-saddened tone. She knew that he’d found something good last time, and she’d settled for the Key Stone per se; at least the duplicate rock was now in someone else’s hands. “Come on, come on… we have to find the mother lode to end all mother lodes…” she started muttering rather desperately under her breath.

Junk, junk and more junk. Would it ever end? Josh could only help but snicker a bit when Izumi "Accidentally" stepped on some poor sap's glasses. He hoped they weren't gonna come back for them. "Izumi, what if those were Velma's glasses?" He joked, smirking a bit. Annnd then Josh stepped on something else. Something he hated. Something he despised. Something he really didn't want to see right before Christ,as. He let out a groan as he looked down at the piece of junk.
"Again?" He said, shaking his head. "I swear to Arceus, it's like we're cursed for the Christmas season, aye?" He said, rolling his eyes. "Unfortunately, it's getting dark" He said, looking over at Izumi. "We should... Probably get ready to head out soon. I just hope that the both of us can find something good to take home for Christmas before we head out. It would suck to leave with just junk"
