Gaius noticed as the other Hydreigon was coming in fast towards him, attempting to smack him down with a Steel Wing. Immediately, Gaius maneuvered around the attack carefully, before picking up speed and continuing towards the Waterfall. It then let out a cry, one that could be understood by his fellow dragon as a taunt for such an attack.
Thomas looked over at Izumi as she muttered to him. "Trust me when I say he was a lot like your Hydreigon before I got him to vent his rage., Thomas whispered to his old friend.
Gaius immediately turned to face his foe as he got close to the waterfall. Gaius easily strafed out of the way of the Dragon Breath. However, upon Riku coming in for the Body Slam, he immediately continued sailing to the side, managing to barely evade the surprise attack, but being in range for the Steel Wing to hit.
Now Gaius was pissed.
Taking advantage of the lack of distance between them, the Hydreigon fired off a Dragon Pulse at his opponent. Though he wasn't going to knock out his fellow Hydreigon, Gaius was still going to teach Riku not to fuck with him.

Riku was very much annoyed—why was he not able to hit this “doppelganger” that had been flying around, taunting him and just strafing off to one side whenever he tried to aim an attack?! He then gave another loud Roar, before proceeding to give chase to the “doppel” that was apparently trying to lure him someplace. In the back of Riku’s mind, he would’ve been growling and hissing all sorts of profanities towards the double’s direction; but outside her Hydreigon just Roared again before tying to strafe forward—and then walking right into a Dragon Pulse attack! The attack caught Riku off-guard; therefore in retaliation he then lowered is head and then began gathering some kind of energy from it—before suddenly veering in really close and unleashing a Zen Headbutt at close quarters! Not content with the way that the Dragon Pulse really smarted, he then veered upwards—before suddenly taking a sharp turn downward and aiming an aerial Body Slam towards his double!
Little did he realize that he was now so very close to the water fall and was in danger of actually getting hit by the spray, but he didn’t care; after he plummeted down, Riku then tried to counter with an up-close and personal Bite attack, hoping that at least one of the three attacks would at least hit the doppelganger! Back at where the two Trainers were watching the proceedings, Izumi was now literally smacking her palm so hard into her face, she could feel the sensation going numb due to the incessant contact of her hands with her face! “Darn, he’s got such a stubborn streak… he’s completely and totally lost it…” she muttered once again, resisting the urge to roll her eyes in Riku’s direction. “I wonder how much your Hydreigon would take; he’s kind of just… attacking blindly now,” she added a few moments later.

Gaius grinned as the opposing Hydreigon walked right into his Dragon Pulse. He didn't expect it to actually hit, but at the same time, was happy that it did. Even if it wasn't his mission to really hurt it, as much as it was to lure it, as long as he didn't knock out Riku before he could go under the waterfall and vent there, Thomas wouldn't be too bothered.
Unfortunately, this left him unable to dodge the next attack. Fortunately, it was a Zen Headbutt, so the main force of the attack had no effect on him, thanks to his typing, all he felt was a "mild" headbutt. The expression on his face could easily be translated to "what the fuck was that supposed to be?" But upon seeing Riku go in for a Body Slam, Gaius strafed to the side, getting out of the path of the attack narrowly, and getting closer to the waterfall.
When Riku bit down on him, his left "head", Gaius willed himself not to flinch, which thankfully wasn't too difficult, due to the attack not doing too much damage to him. And taking advantage of the attack, Gaius attempted to drag Riku in the direction of the waterfall before he could let go. And if successful, he would immediately attempt to blast him using his right head into said waterfall with a Dark Pulse, something that would hopefully throw him off, but it wouldn't knock him out.
Thomas himself silently watched. He was glad that Gaius wasn't trying to murder Riku for this, and that he seemed to be doing so smartly.

Now that his “doppelganger” was veering much closer to the roaring surge of water, Riku could only snort—he’d completely forgotten about Zen Headbutt having absolutely no effect against someone who was partially of the Dark typing; but at least he had managed to land a few more hits on the crazy-ass Hydreigon that was apparently luring him to go somewhere—since he’d bitten down on one of the other Hydreigon’s heads (in reality one of his “arms”), he was expecting to hear a roar of surprise—instead he got dragged along; before being positioned for a—! Another loud Roar shook the forest; because this spitting image of himself had fired off another attack; and with him being unable to break free from the other Hydrei’s grip, was finally blasted under the roaring waterfall—and he didn’t take too lightly to this.
“Urrrgh,” Izumi winced, covering her ears as she heard her Hydreigon roaring again—if she could understand just what the hell he was saying, then it would most likely be full of expletives at this point. Over at the waterfall, Riku was now trying to fire off another attack; but the water pounding down and all around him was making it more difficult to do so—even if he concentrated and took a deep breath, the water that was crashing down on him was making it difficult to conjure up the ball of draconic energy that he wanted to aim so much at the doppelganger that was now flying out of his reach. Instead, he chose to do the one thing he could still muster up the energy for—and that was to Roar, and he did roar a lot. Try as he might to fight off the pounding and pouring water; it was just too difficult to do so—because he was up against a force of nature; and the initial loud roars then dimmed down; and was instead replaced with a lot of thrashing as he tried to free himself from the “jail of nature” that he had been tossed into.
This, of course, made him relive the awful memory of being crushed underfoot by a puny little blue thing that had easily swatted him down with just one attack; and the Roaring came back in full measure. It wasn’t as loud as it was earlier; but seeing the trap made of clear ice catching him dead-on in its path made him go on full-blast rage mode; if you could call getting stuck under a waterfall while roaring your head off “full blast”! Back at where the two Trainers stood, she then faced Tom and then asked, “W-what do you think is happening over there?”

Gaius grinned as he saw his fellow Hydreigon get blasted into the waterfall, just as he had hoped to have happened. As the beast was roaring in rage, he looked at the neck where Riku bit down, noticing that there was blood coming from the bite wound. Nothing that Algernon couldn't treat, but it looked pretty brutal. But it was all worth it, as he got Riku right where Thomas wanted him.
Thomas covered his ears as well, watching the waterfall, seeing Gaius hover around it, blood dripping from where he was bitten. Upon Riku's intermission from his roaring, the trainer released Algernon the Slowking from another of his Pokeballs.
"Algernon, when Gaius flies back here, I need you to treat a wound of his, alright?", asked Thomas. The Slowking nodded to his trainer, watching the scene unfold from a distance by his side.
Again, Thomas covered his ears as the other Hydreigon let out a brutal roar. Something was going down, but it seemed like Riku neither fired out an attack from the waterfall, nor did he emerge from it.
"It seems like it's working. As long as Gaius can keep him in there, Riku should vent his energy. Once he becomes exhausted, then we can start working on reestablishing your bond with Riku...", Thomas answered Izumi.

If Izumi could be able to read the general aura that was streaming from the roaring Dragon that was now getting blasted by the waterfall, she would have a general idea of what had ticked it off to roar like that—and just as he sent out his own Slowking, she suddenly remembered that she had someone who could pick up on emotions in general… and then plucked out a particularly pink Love Ball from her jacket and then sent out her Gardevoir. Watching as the shiny Embrace ‘mon appeared in the burst of red light, she then pointed forward, before saying, “I know you don’t like negativity but I know you can pick up on emotions and stuff. Can you… can you go out there and try to pick up on what Riku’s raging about? Then try to ‘tell’ me what it is so I can fill Tom in over here,” she said, indicating her companion who was no waiting for his Hydreigon to come flying back in order to get the bite mark on one of its…heads/hands treated by the Slowking.
“Voir,” she warbled out, before wading into the water—thankfully it didn’t make her go swimming (as Izumi had completely forgotten to get Teleport for her but would rectify that in due course) and then waded out into the frothy surf. The roaring noise echoed all around once again; but it wasn’t as… rage-filled as it was the first few times. The Gardevoir saw that there was another Hydreigon flying around; but knew that this one wasn’t the one she needed to “come in contact” with, it was the other one roaring and screaming his head off while being pounded by the waterfall pouring down from above. Now that she was as close as she dared to be near the roaring Riku, the Gardevoir then concentrated on what was causing its distress; letting its emotional powers flare up to its maximum as she began filtering everything out, trying to pick up just what he was so pissed off about.
At the same time, back on the shore, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up; a sign that Momo was now communicating with her via the mental images that were being flashed in her mind—if Tom had noticed, she’d closed her eyes, the better to see what was going on. After watching a few moments, she then opened her eyes and then realized… that it wasn’t just the tower that had caused; it was his pride that had taken a serious blow by failing the test that she’d tried before! “Oh… oh, shit…” she trailed off, shaking her head; before beginning to speak up about what was tormenting the Hydreigon so much. “You… you know about the Tower I told you about earlier, right? His… his pride as a dragon was completely and utterly destroyed in battle. By a Vaporeon, no less… one that knew how to Ice Beam…” she continued, trying to sort through the images; and then seeing in her mind’s eye, the first time he’d opened his eyes—only to find that he’d been trapped in a frozen pillar of ice.
She knew that her Braviary had recovered from the shock and was now brimming with resolve, but why not him? What was holding him back?

Thomas watched as Izumi brought out a Shiny Gardevoir, ordering her to read Riku's emotions, and relay it back to her in order to better understand the beast being beaten down by the waterfall. Thomas then watched as the Gardevoir approached the site of the "battle" taking place between the two Hydreigons. He then looked back to Izumi, as she was being fed the findings by the psychic-type Pokemon.
Thomas listened as she told him about her failed attempt at the Tower of Mastery, how the Hydreigon fell to a Vaporeon with Ice Beam. And as unfortunate as it was, Thomas had to say that it couldn't be helped. Though it could've been much worse than it actually was, due to Hydreigon simply being a levitating Pokemon rather than a full-fledged flying-type, it was simply the problem with being a Dragon, among other things.
"That sucks... but I suppose that all there is to be said about it is that it can't really be helped. With very few exceptions, Dragons tend to be... allergic... to Ice-type attacks, so all I can really say about it is to prepare him for dealing with Ice Beams, perhaps with Flamethrower? If you can train him to react in a timely fashion, perhaps a Flamethrower would help to address that problem. Though that's not exactly guaranteed...", Thomas said to Izumi, clearly thinking about this.
"In any case, once he's calm, try to assure him that he's no less of a dragon for this, and that these things happen...", Thomas told Izumi.

She chuckled at the choice of wording that he’d picked out in order to describe the “weakness” of the Dragon-line to Ice-type… as well as Fairy-type attacks. “Not just allergic. Once you hit ‘em with it, they’re down and out like a light,” she said in agreement, remembering that she’d read somewhere that ever since there was a new typing that had hit the known world, the Dragon-kind were thrown even more into chaos with the advent of the “Fairies” coming to light. “I’m actually trying to work on getting him better moves. Most of his moves right now are… too power-oriented, and I’m working on trying to get them set up on a more… balanced scale,” she admitted with a sheepish grin on her face. “I need to get them trained out more. As of now, the only one who has their full ‘move set’ done is Arashi, my Typhlosion. Everyone else is in the process of getting sufficiently trained up,” she continued, before focusing once more on the images that were being sent to her by her Gardevoir.
Over at the waterfall…
The shiny Gardevoir was now hovering somewhere near where the other Hydreigon was flying; and as more and more of the pent-up emotions went through her like a shock wave, she could only do her best to steel herself—because who knew that Riku here had a lot of pride built up on his form? As a matter of fact, she could tell that he was now in the “depressed” stage; because the roaring had diminished; the pounding water was apparently helping to calm him down from the adrenaline-induced rage he’d gone on earlier. She then looked at the other Hydreigon, who was apparently bleeding from one of its “head arms”, and then made a gesturing motion to go over to where a Slowking had appeared on the far side of the bank; because from the way that the red blood was marring the water, Riku’s Bite (or Crunch attack, whichever one it was) had done quite a number on him.
Back at where the two humans (and the Slowking) waited, she then took his words and made a mental note of them—before speaking up again. “Well, will you look at that. The rage is gone… and I think your Hydreigon’s coming back over here. She sent Gaius back here to get him checked out, apparently,” before breathing a sigh of relief. Now that he was sufficiently all petered out (and had no more rage left to fuel him) she then sent a wave of her thoughts to the Gardevoir who was still watching the other Hydreigon getting pounded on by the water fall from above. Send him back here, let him know that I’m over here. Please? She asked Momo, and over at the waterfall, the Gardevoir then nodded before cautiously approaching the tuckered-out Dragon-type…

Thomas listened to what Izumi had to say about training all but one of her Pokemon up to full par. In all honesty, he had yet to get any of his Pokemon up to their full potential. However, it was currently Gaius that was coming the closest to 'completion' at the moment. Otherwise, he'd have to evolve his Scyther, and his Gligar soon. But otherwise, he thought he was doing fine for the moment, if he was going a little slow compared to his liking.
The trainer nodded to her, as Gaius came flying over to the group. Blood was dripping from the wound he received at the hands of the Hydreigon. However, Algernon was already on it, focusing a Heal Pulse into the wound, managing to seal the bite wound. Though the blood would have to be cleaned off of the fur, at least the wound itself was treated. Most importantly, the healing energy served to calm the Hydreigon's somewhat frazzled nerves from the battle, preventing it from having an episode.
Just then, Thomas had an idea.
"If Riku needs to be further calmed down, I can have Algernon here treat it with Heal Pulses. Like with Gaius here, it should not only heal his wounds, but calm him down.", suggested Thomas.

Momo was now inching slowly but surely towards the Hydreigon that was now trying to force his way out of the roaring waterfall—now that he had been sufficiently tired out; and once he’d noticed that the shiny Gardevoir was approaching him quite cautiously, he then pulled himself out of the waterfall with much effort—since Izumi had asked her to bring him back to the shore. Over at where the humans were located, she watched as the Slowking then healed up the Hydreigon’s wounds, before giving her an idea. “That works, too. Anything to calm him down and to make him regain his confidence would definitely work,” she said with a thoughtful look on her face; as she then focused another wave of thoughts towards the two who were now traversing back through the shallow water. Sooner or later, there were two shapes on the horizon—one of them looked human, the other one was more on the monster-like side.
As the Gardevoir and her Hydreigon approached, Izumi then kicked her shoes off before wading right into the water, approaching the Hydreigon and giving him a hug. “Riku… man, I’m so sorry if things have been so very hard on you. That Ice Beam is nothing. Trust me on this. I still believe in you as a Dragon. I know you’re very proud; but don’t let that defeat get to you. Okay?” she whispered as the Dragon-type clumsily fell into his mistress’ hug; before allowing her to just get her scent all over him. He’d taken quite a bit of battering from Gaius as well; and it did show—his stamina was more on the drained side; and he looked more beat-up and banged than the other Hydreigon who was now hovering near the Slowking, who was now observing the scene with some amusement in its eyes. “Riku… come over here. No, don’t attack Gaius; he did what he had to. Come here… uhhh, Tom? Can I borrow Algernon?” she asked with a sheepish tone in her voice; before slowly and cautiously approaching the hyper-intelligent bipedal Slowking, her Hydreigon trailing behind her. The Gardevoir had now come out of the water and was standing on the shore; watching the scene unfold.
