No sooner had he gotten back to the Ranch building proper did he hear a very loud, alarmed, if somewhat agitated squawk reverberate through the air. “Oh, crap,” Kouji hissed to himself as he then proceeded to make his way back into the store room near the Nursery and approached a particular paper bag; which he’d just recently refilled with a surplus of the funny yellow mushrooms. “Damn it… why did I have a feeling I was going to get a bad draw today…” he chuckled to himself as he then plucked out one of the funny-smelling things and closed the door behind him.
To be fair, it had been a while since the Breeder had drawn a dud; so making the trip back to the store room in order to get the ‘magical enhancers’ was a bit refreshing. Once he was back out on the Ranch grounds, all it took was ten minutes in order to reach the tree again—and quickly toss the mushroom towards the sheepish-looking Rufflet’s direction once he’d soared down from the upper branches.
“Orn, I know you got the nerves. Have a mush, it’ll help,” he said with a mysterious grin on his face as he then watched the sheepish avian fly back up into the nest in order to be able to try again…

There on time of course - five minutes early, in fact - Lucas got out of his car at the ranch and took a moment to just admire the place and stretch for a moment. It was a beautiful day, with spring finally getting a foothold and sweater weather all but done everywhere outside of his home of Iceburgh. Besides all that though, he was quietly excited for the purpose of this trip.
It was probably mildly ridiculous how happy spoiling Jerry made him, but so it went. There was a Fennekin egg up for adoption, and while Jerry probably had little idea yet about the breed, the psychic abilities in their evolutionary line were sure to be of interest to him. And now that his friend was over his difficulties with fire, Lucas didn't have to worry about the idea.
Locking the car, he would make his way over to the ranch to alert whoever was there and pick up the egg, and then afterwards another ride would take him back over to Jerry. The only question left was whether or not to wait for the egg to hatch before presenting the Pokemon to him. He supposed it came down to a risk and benefit analysis of a small fox popping up out of nowhere.

Who knew that this particular request would be extremely complicated?! Well, for starters, Kouji had gotten a text from his first boss asking if he was open to getting her a Buneary; which he said he would—but the kicker here was that she was looking for two very specific moves, to boot. “The fuck, where am I going to get something that has Cosmic Power?! Teeter Dance is easy, I can borrow one of Luella’s Spindas no problem, but Cosmic Power? What on earth…” he muttered to himself as he then began searching through the repositories of all the people he was affiliated with—before the answer presented itself in a rather ironic manner.
“Well, shit, why didn’t the Professor tell me he had that move on one of his cohorts?! Hope he’s not using it…” the Breeder said to himself as he quickly punched in a series of two coordinates. Several moments later, one of the containment units that housed one of Luella’s two Spindas had appeared; but it was the second one he was rather nervous about—what if he was out in the field and he had the Pokémon in question on him?! Mercifully, though, the second containment unit arrived with a loud clatter; before he remembered—he didn’t have a Buneary—or any of its evolutionary line for that matter!
Thankfully though, the second containment unit had arrived; and he let out a sigh of relief. Once he’d scooped out the second containment unit, the Breeder then punched in one more series of codes, before watching as a third containment unit appeared—and this time it held the bunny that his first boss was looking for. Once he’d secured all three, it was time to get to work! He then began to bustle around the outside, before eventually finding where his male Smeargle had seemingly hidden himself—he’d noticed that Raphael and Araki had a tendency to hang out together, and this was definitely the case as he’d spotted the two apparently doing something together in a concealed brush. “Uhhh, sorry Ara. Can I borrow Raphie for a while?” he said with a sheepish grin, before stepping into the clearing and scooping up the male Smeargle and leaving the female alone for a while.
Once he’d finally gotten the male Smeargle alone, he knew that it was time to get the move-passing down. “Well, first things first…” he muttered, before quickly sending out the Professor’s ‘mon out first, because he knew that the guy who was crazy about avians was always very busy, and he needed to return this one quickly. “Uhhh, hi there,” he began in the silent Claydol’s direction, watching as it made its appearance in a burst of red light. “Uhhh… can you please demonstrate your Cosmic Power to Raphael here? It’s not going to be too much—“ he trailed off, before watching as the Claydol began to spin slowly, its own body humming with a strange kind of power! At the same time, the male Smeargle flew into action, committing the Cosmic Power to memory while it was still in the middle of its demonstration.
Now that the first move was done, he then quickly recalled the Claydol, before sending out the Spinda, who hit the ground with a rather loud thud and began walking around looking absolutely wasted. “Man, what does Luella feed you guys…” he chuckled to himself with a grin before gesturing to the male Smeargle that was with him. “Mind if you demonstrate your Teeter Dance to Raphael here?” he inquired, quickly digging around in his pockets and preparing a Lum Berry for his Smeargle to eat—he knew that this move was one that could literally make one dizzy just by watching it! as the Spinda began doing its rather crazy, volatile dance, the Smeargle’s tail brush flew into action once more—not only had it gotten hit (and was in a state of absolute confusion now) but it had also copied and committed the Teeter Dance to memory in the process!
Once he’d managed to feed the now-tottering Smeargle the Lum Berry, he knew that it was time for the main event—and sent out the third and final Pokémon of the day. As the Lopunny hit the ground with a graceful landing, he then chuckled—who knew that Yumi had several species that were all unique and strange in their own ways? “Alright… Raphael, try not to be too rough on our guest today, alright?” he began with a cheesy-sounding chuckle, before leaving the two alone. He had to return the two borrowed ‘mons right away, and hoped that he’d be able to get some good news in a few hours…

To be honest, it had been a long while since Kouji had done any actual breeding. For that matter, he then decided to fulfill several special orders—because he’d gotten word that there were several Gym Leaders that were out and looking for a few additions to their team rosters. One of the two orders for the week even came along with a special request: a Sandile that could learn two particular moves! Well, thankfully I already have one of them, the other move’s not going to be a problem, so yay me, I guess? He thought to himself with a bit of a snicker as he then bustled around the spot, finally managing to retrieve the necessary containment units from storage in order to be able to proceed with the harebrained requests.
He could only stop and wonder as to why there was a sudden influx of Gym Leaders lately, but it was all well and good, he guessed. Now that he had an extra containment unit in his hands (the rest of the required partners were all his and just grazing outside) that had come from the Transporter, he then walked out to the grassy back and began searching high and low for where his aliens had parked themselves. It had taken several minutes of wandering—and a couple of headaches later—but he’d finally managed to lure away his Roswell from Marvin, before sending out his first boss’ Kadabra. Even if he had Casey, he knew that her Kadabra had another one of the more beneficial moves that the alien could inherit, and he then left the first pair alone with a knowing nod in the Kadabra’s direction.
The second pairing was going to be a bit trickier to find—considering that he knew that his Araki had only just recently recovered from that insanely long vacation, he was hoping that she was ready for some action. He’d already managed to find Hiekka, his Krookodile, and watched with a hint of amusement as the bipedal reptilian followed him closely behind while he was searching for both Araki and Sky. Once he’d managed to find the two (and had persuaded his Sky to demonstrate Fire Fang to Araki before she’d committed it to memory) he then patted his Krookodile’s snout, before looking down at the nervous Smeargle. “Well, have fun, you two,” he said with a smirk, before turning to leave them alone for some ‘private time’.

A large, imposing businessman with a beard and a black suit entered the premises with a suitcase in tow. All of the people immediately parted for him and didn't bother to shout at him for cutting through the line because he was scary as fuck and looked like he could break a man in half like a twig with his bare hands alone. Arceus only knew what type of pokemon a guy like that kept for company.
Said man didn't care for their nonsense and simply went straight to the reception area. "Hello. I am Marco Andes. I am a representative of Miguel Hidalgo. I am here to pick up the eggs he had requested."
The receptionist stared at the large man with a little bit of fear before he cleared his throat. "Of-of course sir." He gestured to the door on the right. "Go over there for the paperwork and processing. By the way, the Vullaby has hatched already."
Marco grunted. "That's alright. Just gimme the Sandile egg and the pokemon after I finish with the paperwork and I'll be out of your hair."

Kouji had apparently been contacted by Joshua regarding securing one of his Breeding spots for the week; and since he didn’t have anything else to do, he’d made a quick note in the ledger that as located out on the front desk, just in case Darren might end up missing the memo. Either way, he then made his way over to the Transporter and punched in several codes, hoping that a fellow Breeder didn’t mind his dipping into the other storage in order to find the one that he had to borrow for this particular attempt.
Once the two containment units had arrived, he then proceeded out back, taking a closer look at the two occupants located inside—one of them looked very much like a canine, while the other one looked like the laziest Pokémon alive. He could only guess as to what was going on, but either way, he’d already done some checking in and realized that the one that looked like a very sloth individual actually had a move that would prove to be extremely beneficial in more ways than one; and that one of the recipients was the canine that was licking its chops while inside the containment unit.
“Here goes,” he began as he sent the two out; watching as they both hit the ground in a flash of red light. Once the canine had finally managed to land on the grass, he then heard several yipping noises; before whistling and then attempting to calm him down. “Whoa, Makara. Calm down, boy… don’t bite me; and don’t mess up this partner of yours over here, okay?” he remarked, indicating the Slakoth (not that he knew what it was called as of yet) before giving the Houndour a rather pointed look. “Alright, please be on your best behavior,” he continued, before leaving the two of them alone for some private time…

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away
Unlike other certain Gym Leaders, Novel had no qualms about coming and picking an egg up himself. He saw it as an opportunity for free advertising for whatever place he was going to. People got excited over Gym Leaders, right? So it would make sense that one making a request for a specific Breeder or even shopping in the place would get more business! That's how Novel saw it anyway. At least he was trying to help in his own, ego stroking kind of way.
Walking up to the counter, Novel took a slip out of his pocket and placed it down. "I have an Elgyum Egg on hold here. Might I have it?" he smiled at the person behind the counter as they took the paper and looked it over. Nodding, they stepped away for a few minutes and returned with an Egg, as he had requested. "Thank you very much. Tell the Owner that I'm very pleased and would like to continue business here." Putting the egg in the protective pouch he had hanging at his side, Novel started to leave.

Kouji knew that he was running a bit short on time; and that he had to actually get these two requests done as fast as he could before the day had ended. He then hobbled over to the Transporter and punched in a quick series of codes before waiting for his Transporter to go off. He then noticed that it was looking a bit dirtier than usual; and sighed—what had Darren been doing; where had his assistant gone off to anyway? It wasn’t like him to suddenly up and vanish without giving him warning or a day’s notice, and it was definitely very odd on so many levels.
Some moments later, several loud clattering noises echoed throughout the area and he then saw a quick succession of containment units fall into place. Knowing that he didn’t have enough time to dawdle and idle around, he then began scooping up all of the containers as they appeared—they were all familiar; and he knew that he was going to have a rather tough time ahead of him, either way. He then quickly bustled out to the expanse of grass located behind the office premises; and then made his way over to where the grassy grounds stretched out to the grove of trees not too far away. “Time to get cracking,” he began, sending out the first pair—watching as the beams of red light materialized into what appeared to be a Heracross and a Gligar; and they both belonged to his first boss. “Alright…. Mushi… and Scorpius, right? Try not to kill each other,” he remarked, before quickly leaving them alone.
Once he’d put a considerable distance between the two, he then sent out the second pair—secretly hoping that she wasn’t using them—and watched as a Typhlosion hit the ground; accompanied by one of the twin Ponytas. “Ara… uhhh, yeah. Try not to harass Ixion here, okay?” he said, giving the overfriendly Typhlosion a nuzzling pat before turning around and beating a hasty retreat.

It didn’t take too long for Kouji to actually get a…mixed bag; while the bugs had hit it off (unfortunately there was only one egg, and that egg was pretty much accounted for at this point in time) the other pairing hadn’t exactly drawn its straws evenly. The Breeder could only scratch his head and attempt to figure out why the two hadn’t gotten along—maybe there was something wrong with the way he’d given them the pep talk? He then proceeded to hop off the stool right at the moment his extremely distressed Chansey showed up at the door, looking absolutely stressed.
“Yes, Neili, I know… something went wrong… partially my fault,” he said with an apologetic smile before walking by the pink Egg ‘mon and giving her a pat on the head. “Well, go take care of the one egg for now, hm? I have to patch up things between the two Fire-types…” he muttered to himself, quickly making his way to the stock room before searching through the pile of assorted materials that had been haphazardly tossed within; before finding the rather crumpled brown paper bag that was emitting this funny smell.
Several moments later, the ashen-haired Breeder had gone out back in time to see a very distressed-looking Ponyta (or at least what he assumed was distressed, due to the way the Fire Hoese was acting all skittish around him) and he could only sigh; before squinting in the distance and seeing that the Typhlosion looked absolutely sheepish. “Well, it wasn’t your fault, Ix,” he began, patting the Ponyta’s nuzzle before heading over to where the flustered-looking Typhlosion had parked himself. “Ara, what’s wrong? Got a case of the nerves?” he asked with a gentle tone, before tossing the funky, rubbery mushroom at the Typhlosion’s way. “Here, have this, it’ll calm the nerves,” he continued, watching as the mushroom traced an arc through the air before the Typhlo had roasted it mid-angle with a small burst of fire and caught it as best as he could manage between his jaws.
“Alright, let’s try this again,” he continued with an encouraging look as he left the two alone; hoping for better results…
