elcome Adventurer to EPOCH! A Pokemon Sandbox Rp set in the original region of Nue. Everything you need to know will be in the Guidebook and PokeDex 101!
EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.
Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. If you find yourself content with being an asshole EPOCH and its members will not tolerate you.
RULES
Understand We're All Human. Respect the staffers as well as your fellow members and guests. We all have flaws, tempers and quirks. Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

Another day, another patrol, and some more wandering/training with his Pokemon. At least he would be if he hadn't been sent once again on an egg chase. The price this time was steep, too, something about a failed attempt and rare Pokemon. She better pay me back for this one...

After getting word from his assistant that the lone egg that his Neili and the borrowed Castform had produced had been claimed recently, Kouji knew that it was time to get to the next breeding request that Josh had put forward. This was supposed to have been done the previous week; but due to the hijinks and unbelievable antics that most of the Water-types over in the Bayonada Ranch had caused, he’d decided to attempt to get a ‘bumper crop’ of Water-types for the Bubble Dome in the meantime.
Now that ‘mating season’ had ended, he was now back to the slow, sedate pace of how things normally went at the Ranch. He’d already asked Darren to ship off the three Spheal eggs to the Bubble Dome over in Tyntill, therefore leaving him to process the request at hand.
Once he’d sent back the borrowed Castform via the Transporter, he then made his way over to where it stood, before punching in another sequence of codes; and watching, waiting for something to drop in. A few moments later, a Safari Ball made its appearance; and he then quickly scooped it up before heading outside to the recently-installed man-made lake; because even if his Ranch still had a small beach front, some of his Water-types were allergic to salt water (or couldn’t handle the salinity of the thing per se) and needed ‘fresh water’ in order to be able to flourish. Once he’d found his Gyarados swimming rather amicably in the lake, he then whistled as loudly as he could; before waving at the serpentine ‘mon who was just about ready to take a dive.
The Gyarados looked up and then promptly headed over to him, before lowering his head in a bow and lingering not too close to the shore—to which the Breeder answered back. After the little show of rites, he then sent out the contents of the Safari Ball; and saw a familiar sight hit the ground—it was a Deino! “Hey… Rynn, can you be nice to this one for me, please?” he shouted, waving over and pointing to the Dragon-type that was now lingering along the shore, inhaling the smell of the air that was breezing through the ranch.

Josh had been busy lately. From helping host the Flash City Extravaganza, to building a house in the new ranch, he'd been spending quite a bit of time working. So much that he hadn't had time to pick up Reg and the egg until today! He would drop by the part of the ranch where Kouji was working, looking around to see if he could find him. "Hey Kouj! I'm here for the egg!" He called, as Kouji had texted him about picking it up a few days ago. He could hear the other man shout something about it's location, and he would nod and head outside. "Hey Reg" He said, picking up his Deino with a smile, who would look down at the egg nearby. Josh would nod and take the egg as well, smiling down at her. "Let's get you guys back, I'm sure your friend is waiting for you" He said, referring to Garcraft, his Gible who Reg had become quite close friends with.

Today was a very special day. As far as Kouji and Darren were concerned, they were drawing pretty close to the triple-digits in terms of bred Pokémon; and due to the ash-haired Breeder’s affiliation with the Bubble Dome, the number would not have been possible. Now that the moment was near, he’d already asked Darren to go over to the Transporter and fetch a couple of Pokémon from the Ranch’s extended Storage System that had been hooked up to the homestead in the Wilds; while he himself went out into the Ranch proper to look for the Smeargle that would finally be getting some action. It didn’t take too long before he heard Darren’s unusual Castelia-born accent wafting through the air, rushing his way before unloading an armful of containment units in his direction.
“Geez, th’s must’a be a big thin’ if ya wan’ me ta get the ‘mons fer ya,” he began, before dumping the load of containment units in his arms, and then turning around to exit, stage left. “Thanks, Darr! I’ll buy you lunch later, okay?!” he shouted back, before examining his Smeargle, named Araki with some regard. “Alright, girl… this is going to be a bit crazy, so please bear with me, okay?” he began, before snapping up the first containment unit and then sending out its occupant; revealing an Ekans who then began to hiss in a rather sibilant-sounding voice. “Err… I don’t know what Josh named you yet, I’ll ask him later,” he began in the Snake ‘mon’s direction, “…but can you demonstrate Glare to Araki here? Don’t overdo it, now…” he trailed off; before the Ekans had mustered its best withering Glare in the Smeargle’s direction.
Even if the Smeargle felt her own limbs going numb, she then lifted her paintbrush of a tail before sketching and committing to memory the Glare status change as best as her numbing limbs could muster. “Alright, alright, can it, cool down, simmer off,” he said in a rush, noticing that the Ekans was going all predatory and quickly recalling the Pokemon in a flash of red light, before things got way too hairy. “Now that that’s done…” he muttered to himself, plucking out another unit (and recognizing who owned it) he then sent out its occupant in a flash of red light; watching as a Mudkip hit the grass. “Hey there, Shuyin,” he began, grinning as the Mudkip then proceeded to tackle his legs, “…mind showing Araki over here what your Mirror Coat looks like?”; before quickly reaching into his pocket and feeding his Smeargle a Lum Berry—because the Smeargle was Paralyzed and was most likely regretting getting involved in all the funny shit.
As the Smeargle’s tail flew into action after seeing the Mirror Coat first-hand, he then quickly recalled the hyperactive Mudkip; before finally getting the main event out—watching as a Snivy emerged from the third flash of red light. “Ahhh, the moment of truth. Tsuru, was it?” he began again in the Snivy’s direction; before watching as the Grass-type gave him a curt nod, “…can you and Araki be nice to each other, please? If anything comes up, please look for the Chansey—she knows where to find me,” he ended; before bowing in their direction and then scuttling away, leaving the two for some ‘quiet time’!

Darren knew that both of the eggs from the magical number that they’d recently attained were automatically reserved for their use; and as such had to reply to several email inquiries asking about a Smeargle egg as well as Snivy eggs, respectively. Although he knew that the male would be eventually going to his boss’ ‘significant other’ (or so he suspected), he knew that his boss would be needing the other offspring in order to be able to fulfill the promise of a painter for one of the clients that the Ranch had entertained recently.
Now that the magical number was behind them, it was time to return to the list of breeding requests that the Bubble Dome had lined up for them to do. Once he’d sent a text message to his boss (not knowing where he’d gone but he could certainly take an educated guess) regarding what he was going to be getting done today, he then made his way to the Transporter.
Several minutes later, he held a particular containment unit—after examining the content, he then made sure to travel back out to the fresh water lake; because the Corsola that his boss had was rather skittish and didn’t want to go back into the temporary Aquariums that they’d set up near the Nursery. “Th’s i’ nuts,” he began, before quickly letting the Pokémon fell out from the containment unit in a flash of red light.
He then blinked, before making sure that this wasn’t the one that his boss called ‘Shuyin’; thankfully, the containment unit wasn’t like what he’d seen. “Phew, ‘safe f’ now,” he added, before kicking off his sandals and wading into the lake’s surf. Several minutes later, he’d returned with a pink, spiky fish in his hands that then jumped out of his grip and made a rather showy way of announcing her presence—by promptly dousing the Mudkip with water.
“’ey, ‘ey! B’ nice!” he added, sighing and resisting the urge to roll his eyes skywards; before quickly making his way back to where he’d left his sandals and leaving the two alone for some ‘special bonding time’.

Darren wasn’t exactly expecting the Chansey to find him, while making distressed-sounding cries at the same time. “Wh’t? Are y’ say’ng tha’ th’ didn’t get an’thing don’?” he began, after several minutes of trying to interpret just what the pink Egg ‘mon was trying to convey. Oy, I need Boss’ help in order to be able to understand just what the hell this thing’s saying… he thought with a cross look on his face as he then stood up, before hoisting himself out of the work chair he’d been perched on, drawing out some blueprints for another wacky contraption that he was going to attempt to build in the near future. “Lead th’ way,” he added, following the Chansey as he then made his way down and towards the store room, snatching a certain paper bag and retrieving one of the mushrooms.
It was also at that moment that he’d felt his pocket vibrate; and after retrieving his phone, saw that there were more breeding requests to be fulfilled. He then stopped by the Transporter and punched in a few codes; before waiting for the two containment units to arrive. The first one was housed in a weird PokeBall that looked like a net of some kind; while the second one was straight from the Aquarium, housed in one of the special Dive Balls that he’d seen several times before. As he scooped up the two containment units, he then slowly made his way outside, before heading right towards the man-made lake and then hissing a sibilant sigh. “A'igh’, a’igh’, have som’thing t’ calm th’ nerves,” he began, quickly dropping the mushroom between the Corsola and the Mudkip, before skittering away and leaving the two alone.
He then headed out to another section of the man-made lake’s shoreline, and sent out the occupants of the two containment units he was cradling in his other arm; before seeing a turtle and something that resembled the Mudkip appear out of the flashes of red light. “A’igh’, please don’ be diff’cult on each oth’r, ok’y?” he said, giving the rather hesitant-looking Tirtouga a pet; before flicking a two-fingered salute in the Swampert’s direction and making his way back to the building proper…

Since his boss still hadn’t returned from the Ruins that he so loved to poke around and mess in, he could only sigh. Sure, one of the two requested breedings had gone off without a hitch—giving them three eggs to boot!—but the other one literally fell flat on its face. “Oy, s’riously?” he began, sighing as the Chansey made her unscheduled appearance in his work room; they’d since then decommissioned the room that held the temporary fish tanks in it and turned into something viable that the both of tehm could use. “A’igh’, a’igh’, I’ll get ta ‘em,” Darren continued, before hopping down from the work stool and following the pink Pokémon out.
He then made sure to stop by the store room and grabbed one of the funny mushrooms from the paper bag; before sending a message to Kouji that they were running low and should probably get to restocking as soon as they could. Once he’d managed to find the Swampert and the Tirtouga, who weren’t seeing each other eye to eye in this case; he then approached whom he presumed to be the male (the Tirtouga) and gently dropped the ‘shroom in front of him. “Here, helps t’ calm th’ nerves,” he began, giving the nervous-looking turtle a reassuring pat on its head, before staring at the Swampert—who knew that this Swampert had already been gender-bent form male to female, and was now liking hi—her status as a member of the opposite sex?!

After asking Darren to make the delivery of not just one—not even two, nor three, but four Mudkip eggs over to the Bubble Dome in Tyntill—Kouji then turned to the current order of business that he would be accomplishing today. Once he’d made his way back to the Transporter, he then began to input a series of codes, before waiting for the lone containment unit that he was going to use to appear in the receiving dish.
Several minutes later, a Dive Ball that he recognized as coming from the Bubble Dome had been delivered, and once he’d taken a peek through the top, he then saw that there was a Barboach inside it—he could only guess if either Darren, or one of the assistants had sent it out to him.
Either way, he then made his way out to the back where the man-made lake was situated; before searching the shores up and down for the heart-shaped fish that he’d ironically nicknamed ‘Ai’ because he remembered that it meant ‘love’ in the dialect of Shui; plus the associated legends with the weird heart-shaped fish that was native to his first boss’ home region.
“Alright… come on out,” he began, before pressing the Dive Ball to full size and letting the Barboach splash around in the shallows once he’d emerged from the flash of red light. “Now, wait there, I got to fetch your partner,” he muttered, checking to see that he was wearing shorts before kicking off his sandals and then wading out into the deeper parts of the lake.
Several minutes later he’d returned with a heart-shaped fish flopping around in his hands; before letting the Luvdisc hop out of his grip and landed with a splash near the Barboach. “Alright, meet Ai. You two… just be nice to each other, okay?” he ended with a knowing look in the Barboach’s direction, before retrieving his sandals and then leaving the two in peace to do their thing!
