The rain actually had started to bother her, as a matter of fact. Her hair was sticking to her face.. her bouncy pigtails lost the bounce that allowed them to be called bouncy and instead looked floppy. She felt wet.. and well..
"I hope you didn't use the attack to get my clothes to stick to my body, Danny. Starting to think you did with the way I have apparently have the prettiest face." she said, her eyes becoming more flirtatious. Some might find it a tad awkward her doing so.. only being 15 but then again Danny was only 19. Their love would be controversial but not unheard of.. no the real problem is that Arietta's flirting sounded so but was not genuine. She didn't find this person attractive. Sure he seemed like a decent guy and honestly he should take that as a compliment. She didn't meet many decent guys. Still.. the most attractive quality about him honestly was that he seemed to find HER attractive. She was not someone who found other people sexy.. but she liked to think she was sexy in the eyes of others. She was a little oddball.
While saying this Misdreavus unfortunately was still learning that paralysis was like.. the literal not funnest thing around. The feeling of not being able to move and having two attacks with great range heading towards her was like.. mucho stinko. She did find that after the Emolga made it's move that it could move.. but not with the level of speed and grace that it would normally find flying. This Emolga was a class A pain in her tush, and she very much found her a big meanie.
She still hadn't forgotten the mean things she had said. They had her feeling more sensitive then she ever would like to admit. Boo boo.
Misdreavus could tell she was doomed. DOOOOMED she said. Those Shock Waves would be her untimely demise, boo boo. <With my last breath, I curse you meanie!> Misdreavus eyes send out a wave of pure grudge energy.. a time honored Ghost tradition in her family. That tradition would.. apparently die with her. This Spite attack would limit the usage of Shock Wave.. in fact in such a short manner of time especially with more uses it would find itself unable to use it again for the rest of the battle. Emolga had even used it a second time right after.. ho ho..
It took the attack with honor. Dodging was out the question.. perhaps it had given the strong and silent cutie a chance to avenge her though. <Mawile... avenge me my sweet..> That was enough.. she thought as her eyes fluttered and fell to the ground with all the grace she showed in life. Meaning she was a giant actress and even at this moment she wanted to make it good. "Oh Misdreavus.." she giggled.. it had actually been a set up they had planned.. but her Pokemon was a big silly. She obviously didn't hear the words but it was hard for any Pokemon to faint the way Misdreavus had. It made her smile though and made the sting of the moment not so bad. At least there was that.
Maybe that was Misdreavus' intention all along. No one would never know now.
You don't know them like I do
Why do the good die young!? Misdreavus uses Spite as she is knocked out takes her last breath.

"That's...that's...!" When did Arietta's clothes start hugging her so tightly? An even bigger question was how he managed to miss such a detail during all of this. He supposed that the distance played a role, and perhaps keeping his Pokemon conscious was his immediate priority, but now had to ask himself the dreaded question; was it a bad idea to use Rain Dance when fighting girls? "I'll have you know that I am not that clever! That was an unforeseen consequence, and--" What was with that amused look in her eyes? She was having a jolly good time over there, which was far from the bashful reaction he expected. "I'll just look the other way." There was no way he was letting someone that looked younger than his sister toy around with him like this. If Amber was here now, she'd beat him until he was one with the ground. No thanks.
Aph's efforts paid off, weakening the Misdreavus to the point of fainting, but Arietta's precious pearl had enough energy to let loose a final spiteful curse. ||I'm not that mean. You need to learn how to take the heat, ghostie.|| The Emolga tsk'd, shaking her head as the spite left a subtle mark on her neck. It wasn't something she could feel, and since she was a tiny critter herself, not even Danny was able to catch a glimpse of the strange mark. It was finally Arietta's turn to reveal her second Pokemon, which was rather frightening to think about. If her first Pokemon was able to knock out Larry so easily, what else did she have in reserve? "It's even now. Told you we could catch up." He laughed, acting as if he wasn't worried in the slightest. Aph could totally handle her next Pokemon, no matter how powerful it was. And if she couldn't, well, there was always the option of using Volt Switch.

Arietta's eyes danced around the form of her Misdreavus and then at the Emolga for a moment, needing validation that her little gambit had worked. When she got it, she smiled and returned her Misdreavus to the safety of her Poke Ball. "Thanks for the help friend." she said, smiling at the ball.. the sort of smile that you did reserve for a friend.
Shifting one to the other, she pulled out her next Poke Ball from an area attached to a belt she as wearing. She wanted to find another way of carrying Poke Balls in the future. Arietta didn't enjoy the strange modifications she had to do to her fashionable belts to get this to work. She only had two for the moment though so thins would work out.
"Go Mawile!" she cried, releasing her next friend from it's ball in that flash of red light. Mawile quickly appeared in front of them, looking excited to be out. It was easy to tell what was going on.. it was in the air. This was one of the moments it lived for. This was what it was so excited for Arietta's journey for. Mawile was definitely part of the reason Arietta was doing what she was doing.
Arietta tended to her mirror her Pokemon but with Mawile it often went both ways. Mawile brought out her seriousness, but in the right setting Arietta could bring out some more silly traits in Mawile. They were rather in sync in many ways really. "She's been with me since I was little.. so.." a smile on her face. Her body language radiated confidence.
Mawile's turn to notice it's enemy.. something flying. That was a tad annoying. <"I'm suprised Misdreavus had any problem with you, normally it's her job to deal with the flying rats. Get ready!"> she said, smirking but then releasing a powerful strange hissing sound that seemed amplified by her second jaw. It was a really intimidating sound.. something Arietta herself still found worth a slight shiver down her spine. The sort of sound that she had seen deplete a Pokemon's ability to start an offensive before it started. Arietta didn't waste any more time though, lest she serve Mawile up to the same paralysis fate from before. "Iron Defense into Swagger into Crunch!" she called, which caused a series of commands for Mawile. First it's jaw would strengthen up.. almost seeming to shimmer as it became hard as metal. It already was to be honest, but now it even had a somewhat metallic sheen to it. It would take far more abuse now. Then she made another similar but still different enough sound based move, amplified in the same way she had used Intimidate but it had a different sort of vibe about it. It radiated the same confidence that her trainer had.. but had a strange sense to it as well. The sound would often confuse those that heard it. Then it wouldn't be the dodge game.. it would be time to just charge in a take the first blow. She would jump as high as she had to to give her jaws a chance to clamp down on the Emolga..
All this violence was starting to get to Arietta little. "These sort of battles are kind of brutal..aren't they?" she would say after the attack either hit or miss.. it didn't matter. The point was still true.. she didn't know how she felt about it.
You don't know them like I do
Mawile's Intimidate works upon entry, and then it attempts Iron Defense, Swagger, and then a Crunch attack.

The longer he waited to see Arietta's final two Pokemon, the more his toes bickered and pinched each other, dancing with anticipation for the sudden reveal. At least he had a chance to see a second one, which immediately bounced onto the field with confidence and energy. As a species, Mawile was familiar enough to him due to its cute charisma on popular Hoenn shows. Danny couldn't ignore those sweet looks, but he also couldn't ignore those huge chompers that hovered over her head, acting like a live guillotine that was ready to strike. 'I feel like I could lose a hand if I put one in there.' He thought, shifting about uncomfortably as he held his right hand close to his heart, making damn sure that that sly Mawile didn't make his thoughts come to life. "For that long? Wow, lucky. I didn't even meet Larry until a few years ago, and he was my first." Loosening up at her small introduction, he figured that the Mawile couldn't be that bad if it was able to tolerate small children. Now if Arietta happened to be missing a limb or two, then it'd be a different story. Aph wasn't too intimidated by the new kid on the block, giving the Mawile a quick glance before grinning with confidence.
<"A flying rat? I'm way cuter than that! Look at my fuzzy tail. My puffy cheeks! I'm at least part teddy bear, Toothy."> Toothy, unfortunately, was the only nickname she could come up with for this trash talking session. The perfect insult would probably come to her a few days later, and she'd probably spend an incredible 10 minutes moping about a missed opportunity to sound cool. That's life, Aph. Before the turn could begin, the Mawile let loose a terrifying shriek that nearly made Aph's heart jump out of her mouth in horror. "W-What the heck? Don't kill my little Aph!" Danny didn't take the Intimidate much better, looking as if a ghost rose to the dead just to lay a curse on him. The Iron Defense didn't look like a good sign, blessing their tough challenger with heavy bulk to properly protect herself.
Another cry struck through the silence. Aph was stunned, stuck processing what was going on as Mawile charged right at her, effectively sweeping her into those giant fangs with a Crunch. While Aph preferred to be groomed with the teeth of a comb, she handled the attack well enough, though escaping was going to be a problem. Wiggling and squirming out of the Mawile's tight grip, Aph tried to sweeten her escape with an affectionate nuzzle. Her cheeks sparked as she rubbed herself against the hard, iron skin, putting up as much of a fight as possible until an opening would let her sneak out. "Try another Shock Wave, Aph! You gotta be forceful with these things. Assert yourself, and amp up that voltage." The solution was simple enough on paper, but Danny completely missed the sneaky trap Misdreavus set up before fainting.
It also didn't help that confusion made everything even harder than before. It was a struggle to resist whacking herself in the face due to the strange sound echoing in her head, blocking out Danny's words when it was most inconvenient. <"H-Heh...If that's all you got, Toothbrain, I'm disappointed. You're just a loud biter. Bite bite bite! Chompity chomp! You're no different from me, you beaver."> Talking with the feeling that 10 hands were scratching at your brain was ridiculous, but she managed to get an obnoxious Taunt off before the Mawile could do anything worse.
At Arietta's comment, Danny had to pause as he took in the state of his two Pokemon. She had a point--it was hard to see this as friendly battling. "My Aph is so small, it's almost like watching her get eaten on one of those nature shows." He had to admit, when his Pokemon were so young and dear, this wasn't easy to watch. "Hey, but maybe it won't be so bad if we treat them to something nice later to make up for it. If I had the extra cash, I'd take everyone to Pok 'E Cheese. That would cheer just about anyone up, no matter how brutal the battle, right?" He asked, looking to Arietta for any sign of agreement. Saving up for that didn't sound like a bad idea, actually. But until then, maybe he'd just have to treat them to some good eats.

Arietta thought about what he said.. he only met his Pokemon recently? She didn't know how she would feel without her Pokemon having an influence on her for so long.
"I am lucky." she said with a smile. It.. came out a tad odd. She didn't mean it a negative way, it was more the realization that she was lucky popping into her head. She was sure that Danny and his Pokemon were close though. She could get that feeling off him. It's part of what made him easier to approach for her.
Mawile on the other hand was dealing with some shocks, some more potent then others. Toothy to be honest.. was kind of cute. It was fine with that. The nuzzle probably would have been cute were it not for the vantage point keeping Mawile from really seeing it.. and instead all it felt was the feeling of her body tensing up and becoming unresponsive.
Paralysis wasn't fun. Especially when her body would just.. not.. move!
She struggled against it.. she wanted to hit this Pokemon where it hurt. Although Toothy hadn't affected her much.. Toothbrain and the beaver comment did. She wanted to play a little.. rough with her but she found herself unable to. Frozen in place.. she tried to take some deep breaths and calm herself down. She couldn't though.. there was a fire in her that was actually somewhat uncharacteristic of her... the power of taunt was an interesting one.
<"I'll show you! I'll get you! I'll make you.. you.. you'll get hurt and stuff!"> Taunt wasn't making her the most eloquent either.. she just couldn't think of doing anything else but attacking her.
Arietta could see that her Pokemon wasn't going to move for the moment.. and sighed. She didn't really understand what was going on with her, this being her first showing of Taunt though. She knew she was acting strange.
"Oh. Yeah. That sounds really nice doesn't it?" she said, although part of her told her she should not enjoy going to such a childish place.. but him saying he wanted to made her feel like she could. Yeah.. he wasn't going to judge it was his idea even! "I'd love to get to know you a little better Danny and do something other then this too. We'll have to keep in touch too. E-Even if you are a weirdo." she was trying to sound suave and cool.. but a touch of nervousness could easily be found in her voice.
Maybe they could even be friends..

Riled up even further at the Mawile's hastily made comments, Aph's lack of patience was tearing her apart. With a splitting headache that made her want to ram her head into the nearest wall, it was difficult to even concentrate on the battle at hand. Her claws dug right through her soft fur, scratching and pulling at her skull in order to ease the tension in her head. "Aph?" Danny tentatively called out to her, but his voice only seemed to aggravate her confusion even further. Another trainer might've waited to see what would happen. Another trainer might've recalled their Pokemon to give them a break. Another trainer would assume that the power of speech and delivery wouldn't be the solution to this situation. Danny was none of these trainers. "C'mon, Aph. Use Shock Wave! Give her the ol' triple bolt." To him, the best plan right now was to go all out offensive before any other nasty surprises caught up to them.
The command sounded vaguely familiar to the Emolga's ears, but any attempt at using it while under the ghastly spite could only result in failure. Taking in a deep breath, she began to release the stored up electricity in her cheeks, only vaguely recalling the motions of the familiar move despite the occasional confusion pangs. Right when Danny thought that the attack would go off, the mark on her neck scolded her for even thinking of using that dreadful move, nibbling at her skin with vengeance until the sparks on her cheeks resided. <Urg...I can't! I can't do it! I can't! I can't! They'll get me...the ghosts! The ghosts will get me.> The Swagger and Spite combination left her tiny legs trembling as her breaths became uneasy and quick, and like a cat with the midnight runs, she bolted and hopped all over for no apparent reason.
To Danny, without a doubt, felt as if this scene was beyond bizarre. Something was up, and it looked an awful lot like confusion. But when did that happen? From the Mawile? The Misdreavus? "Ah, geez. Aph. You tried, you beautiful creature." Lament and sigh all he wanted, but that wasn't about to cure Aph of her dreadful headache. Poor girl was even clawing at her head because it bothered her so much, and the Mawile was peaceful and vulnerable to boot. It would've been the perfect time to strike! But maybe this temporary stalemate wasn't a bad thing. At least the only thing hurting Aph was herself.
At least a pretty girl like Arietta was around to keep his mood and spirits up. Somehow, it was so much easier to act cheerful when at least one person was watching him. "Of course we should stay in touch. Once we're done here, we should exchange numbers. Or emails. Whichever is easier for you." Oh, goodie. Finally he could have a girl's number in his phone that wasn't his two moms or his sister. "Hey, that's mister weirdo to you. And I'm the best weirdo out there. In fact, by hanging out with a guy like me, I am guaranteed to make everyone look better and smarter. That's in my contract. Indeedy. Don't pass that up." Despite the vicious little battle going on, it felt good to know that yes, he could still make friends and flaunt the Danny charm at a time like this. All was well.

Arietta was smiling softly at Danny. He really was a dork, but he was a harmless and kind dork. The kind of dork she could actually feel comfortable around. Words were just hard, she didn't exactly know how to go about saying the things she wanted to say. "We'll have to make sure to hang out a bunch then. We're hanging out I mean really soon. Promise?" was what eventually decided to come out of her mouth.. and it at least somewhat gave the right impression. If Danny knew Arietta better, he would understand that it was a compliment her saying that. Maybe one day.
She wondered what having a human friend would be like.. the thoughts were making her heart beat a little fast.
On this day though, there was a Pokemon battle happening. Mawile was still paralyzed.. which was bothersome. However she caught her Pokemon just barely breaking it. Still, there was a crudeness to Mawile right now that was unusual. Mawile seemed to really want to go at the Pokemon she was facing.
<Gonna get you! Going to make you.. you sorry!> Yeah, there was something off about her. It made Arietta a little frazzled, her Pokemon was usually such a stable little steel thing.
"Go ahead and Play Rough!" she called, deciding to keep it simple. It was the best move to use in the situation. Mawile rushed forward and attempted to strike a series of blows, with it's steel jaw and it's little body arms and feet. It was adorable.. but rough. It really didn't matter if a few of them missed here and there, she hoped that enough would make the difference anyway.
Just like Mawile.

Arietta's interest in him was flattering, especially when he now had to promise that they'd meet up again some time. Of course he had full intentions of finding time to goof off, and time spent goofing off with friends deserved higher priority. "Your wish is my wish." He kept up the friendly antics as he tried to inch himself a little closer to her, seeing no reason for two trainers to have so much distance between themselves during a battle. "Of course it's a promise. It's not as if I'm flooded with dates or interviews. I wish I was, but I don't have that many cool points yet." Someday, he'd love a taste of that sort of fame and attention, but getting there wouldn't be easy if he remained a rogue trainer in Orre.
He barely knew Arietta, but he had the feeling that she was a good person. His hunches weren't the most accurate thing ever--and he knew this well, but he couldn't see the harm in making friends.
The only harm going on around here was when a certain Mawile was able to break through the electric chains that kept her in place, and that Taunt that Aph used was suddenly looking like a bad idea. Aph's ears twitched at Arietta's command, and she knew that something was coming her way. What it was, she had no idea, but bracing herself proved to be futile as the Mawile smacked her right in the jaw. Feet smashed against her plush cheeks as arms yanked at her ears, making Aph scowl with pain as comical dust clouds censored the worst of the assault. By the time Mawile had her fill of Emolga Execution, Aph was struggling to stand, heaving and wheezing as she swayed uneasily from side to side. Having a sense of balance would've been so lovely at this point, but she lacked the energy to keep it up. <Not as...sorry as...your face.> Aph managed to snap back, but her frustration was only making it even harder to see straight. With another pained gasp of air, she slumped down onto her knee, staring down in horror for having more bark than bite.
Luckily Danny distanced himself enough from the conversation to notice Aph's plight, and he didn't like what he was seeing. It didn't even seem fair to force her to fight, considering the Mawile's Taunt induced tantrum, and Aph's condition altogether. "Baby girl, return." Holding out her Pokeball, he recalled her to safety before she could protest. "Sorry, but you shouldn't push it. Not in a casual battle." It just didn't feel right, and seeing his little Emolga injured like that was enough to make him uncomfortable. Aph threw a fit through the lid of the Pokeball, but Danny ignored her. At least his final Pokemon had enough muscle power to potentially save the score!
"Gawain, it's time for some dirty Revenge." A buff Pinsir snapped his horns together at Danny's opening line, and while he did feel as if he left a mighty fine first impression on Arietta and Mawile from his tough guy facade, he wasn't all that fond of being ordered without being warmed up first. <No hello? No 'Hi, Gawain! Please do this for me?' Kid, you're pushing it.> He snarled, flashing Danny the middle finger by obnoxiously waving it around like a spotlight. As much as he would've loved to see Danny's reaction, his eyes were locked onto the Mawile's, and she was sporting a jaw that looked as powerful as his spiky horns. He huffed as he stomped his two feet and stood his ground, lowering his head to give the Mawile the chance to attack first. Revenge was a low priority move, so whatever she did was going to hit him pretty hard, but that only made Revenge even more powerful. No matter what she did, he was ready to charge after her and lift her into the air with his horns, effectively turning her into a living steel hammer.

Arietta somewhat appreciated the gesture, when Danny started to move closer.. and Arietta sort of responded by doing the same. She was thinking a similar reason when she did, starting to feel a little off by the space. She understand it helped with that whole.. two people facing each other thing. At first that's what she had wanted. She had wanted a feeling that she was putting whatever she had against this fellow rookie trainer. A sort of preliminary test as to who was ahead of the game. That's... what she had come for right?
Still.. that was starting not to feel.. entirely like what she wanted. There was something about creating a smaller distance between them that.. felt nice. This was starting to feel friendly and with a focus more on fun right?
Suddenly she felt something smack her in her mind. Realization at what was happening. She had come to prove something. Why though? She felt a little confused herself..
She stopped right in her tracks, recoiling a little. What was she doing? A guy.. this guy had just been nice to her is all.
She was starting to feel stupid. As if there was a mocking voice in her head belittling her.. 'A person doesn't treat you badly and you start getting all needy and soft? How pathetic.. you're just asking to be hurt. Who knew you would be the type to just start going gaga for some guy you just met.'
She wanted to scream at her inner thoughts, making her hesitant.. making her doubt herself. Making her angry at herself.. she didn't want it to be this way. Feelings her bubbling up in her stomach. A scream that was aimed at her thoughts bursting out of her.. she could only channel it into.
"Mawile! Play Rough!!"
Mawile in her own way was right on board with that idea. Not taunted by her inner thoughts as much as she was still being taunted by the effect of Emolga's attack. She stood sturdy, still feeling adreanaline from the earlier smack down with the Pokemon. The actions of the Pinsir registered in Mawile's brain.. and then she took off in his direction.
<Hey.. Macho Man, check this out!>
Arietta didn't know what kind of an attack Revenge was, but by moving forward and attacking Mawile would have no chance of dodging the retaliating blow. Still, if he wanted to give it.. he would likely have to stay and get hit by Play Rough too. That's what he wanted though right? It's a good thing that although Arietta did not and would likely never know it.. until recently this move would have been a OHKO for Mawile.
Thank goodness for Fairy typing.
Arietta have recollected herself moved closer to Danny again. "Sorry about that, got a little carried away with myself.." she made a casual sort of laugh and smiled at him. She tried her best to play it cool.. to tell herself she was in control of the situation. She tried not to think about she had channeled her confusing emotions into aggression yet again..

Allowing Mawile to make the first move put Gawain at a disadvantage, but a single Play Rough wasn't dangerous enough to cost him the battle. Grimacing as those tiny fists whacked at his face and yelping as her heavy horn slammed against his foot, his Revenge attack felt even sweeter as he retaliated with some heavy blows of his own. <Ha! Your moves are pretty good, but they aren't good enough yet. Maybe next year.> Gawain reacted by attempting to latch onto the Mawile's horn with his own, prepared to lift and slam her into the ground with a furious Seismic Toss. The move transitioned so smoothly for Gawain, that Danny didn't feel a need to interject. Looked as if Gawain was handling the situation well enough on his own, and even though his Pinsir was still a new addition to his team, this was obviously not his first battle.
"Looking good, buddy. Keep it up." If Gawain's move pool wasn't so small, he would've suggested tagging on another attack. Note to self, consider buying a couple of TMs to have a little variety. Gawain fired back a reassuring thumbs up as he fought the Mawile, feeling confident enough in his power to take on the roughhousing fairy.
Switching back to social mode with Arietta, he had the sense that he missed something when he wasn't looking. Immediately he thought about asking her what the issue was, but he shook the idea off with a shake of his head. "I was caught up in the battle myself, so you're fine." For all he knew, she was staring into space, or maybe she was distracted by how awesome his Pinsir was too. Arietta was even smiling at him, which he took as a sign to keep talking. "If you're ever looking to get in touch, well, here's my number." Flipping out the phone that was hiding away in his pocket, he only had to tap a few buttons to get it unlocked, revealing the home screen that had his phone number plastered on top as a banner. "Boom." The rich, dark purple phone case seemed to wink as the light reflected on it, only to hide as he passed it onto Arietta. The words were legible enough despite his distracting wallpaper, which was a picture of a young, dark haired girl hugging Larry, smiling from sea to shining sea at the camera.
Amber must've been around 13 or 14 in the picture, give or take. Sure, he had more recent pictures of his sister as she traveled to who knows where, but it wasn't often when they had pictures taken together. "I should be in Orre for a while, but just in case I'm not, hit me up and I'll fly from one region to another. Well, not that Larry is big enough to fly on, but...I'll think of something." Thinking that flashing her a thumbs up was the most reassuring thing ever, he did just that.

Arietta watched as her taunted Mawile was gripped onto tight.. and then slammed down against the ground. The force was enough to knock her tough warrior right out, her eyes looking intense every second until they were closed and her body became loose and simply layed there. It was over.
That was it.. she glanced at her Pokemon laying on the ground, it's energy spent. She saw the phone in front of her but.. "Give me a second, hold on!" she wanted to get his number.. but she needed to do this first.
She hustled over to her Pokemon and quickly got on her knees. The Pinsir was still likely somewhat nearby, but she was comfortable enough with that. It didn't matter so much. A finger traced her Pokemon's face and she lifted her tough girl onto her lap.
"Hey there. You did amazing.. you and your sister did amazing." She.. felt a lot of things at the moment. She knew she was honestly disappointed about the result of the match. Right now though that didn't matter so much. She felt far stronger a overwhelming urge to let Mawile know it was okay.
This might not have been Danny's first battle.. but it was Arietta's. Her very first actually. Up till now there had been a lot of studying and practicing a lot of wondering. She had stalled for a while now. This was the first time they really actually did something.
In a very real way, Mawile had been Arietta's first friend. She just.. she felt she knew that Mawile didn't want to lose in any match. No matter how friendly. "We did amazing. I always knew you were one of the strongest around. You proved that today, you did. It's.. okay. It's not like before." she said, getting further lost in her little world with Mawile for a moment. Mawile brought up everything in her past.. it all became so clear.
"It's not like before. When the kids didn't understand me and I know you wanted to prove to them how much better we were." she smiled at this.. the silly thoughts that brought her smiles were sure interesting. "It's okay to lose to this guy.. he's.." she looked back at him, and giggled a little. He was suck a dork... that thumbs up before even. "Different, anyway." she smiled and pet her Pokemon gently one more time before returning her Pokemon to it's Poke Ball.
Play it cool time.
She stretched and tried to look a little nonchalant. "Sorry about that, I knew Mawile needed that." she said.. she actually seemed okay. Happy even. She smiled as she took the phone and glanced at the number, pulling out her own cute looking phone. It was so fashionable.. from it's cute wallpaper to it's design she was obviously trying hard to make sure it looked like something a cute popular teenager girl would have. She opened up her contact list and if Danny was a naughty little snoop.. he might notice it was rather bare. Just.. home on it.
It was such a fancy, fashionable phone.. was it simply just very new? It looked pretty new. Then again though the model was ever so slightly outdated.. had she simply just not used it much?
In fact then, the girl had to pull back up her phone and dig around her options. "Oh um.. here?" she said, handing her own phone over on a screen that had own number on it. She handed his phone back too and took her relaxed pose again. "Whose the girl?" she asked, looking a little mischievous as she did. "Your girlfriend? She looks a bit.. young for you. I mean you could at least go with someone more.. my age.".

When it looked as if the Mawile was down for the count, Danny and Gawain shared victorious grins. Gawain wasn't sure if he still had to be in battle mode, but he carefully backed himself up so Arietta could comfort her Mawile in peace. Not that he'd ever need that kind of motivational speech for losing a battle. Bug boy was too thick skinned to let something like that bring him down, but the Mawile looked less experienced than him when it came to battles, so he couldn't be too hard on her. Danny quietly motioned over to Gawain to give the pair even more space, coaxing the stag beetle back towards him before they could ruin Arietta's moment. Patting the big guy on the back for a job well done, he hesitated before recalling him back into his Pokeball, somehow thinking that Arietta was going to throw out a third Pokemon to battle.
"Whoops..." He mumbled, figuring that that wasn't the most fair battle out there. It wasn't exactly uncommon for him to forget things when he was caught in the moment, and he could've sworn at one point three Pokemon were mentioned before the battle started, but now he felt silly. Now he had to wonder if he had to apologize for such a thing, or pretend that it never happened. He happened to catch her looking up at him as she continued to comfort her friend, and from the way she laughed, he had to wonder what was being said over there.
Horrible slander, perhaps? No, probably not. He was too incredibly gorgeous to be slandered by someone he just met. Once her business was taken care of, she made her way back like a cat strutting down the alley. It looked as if nothing could phase her, except maybe a bucket of cold water.
"Not a problem. I mean, technically it wasn't a fair battle for Mawile. Still great training for everyone." He paused, wondering if the positive speech was necessary. If everyone was ok with how the battle went, even if he did feel kind of guilty for winning based on team size, then it was probably best to drop it.
Her phone looked adorable; something that he would've expected from a girl her age, and it looked way newer than his cheap model. He was more of a computer guy anyways, so he didn't exactly mind what model phone he had. As long as he liked the color, which in this case was purple, he was set. He was a nosy poop, but he couldn't imagine how he'd see anything interesting from someone putting a number in their phone. If he knew her better, maybe he would've tried to snatch her phone so he could prank call or text someone in her contacts list, but he typically reserved that behavior for his goofier friends.
Actually, he was kind of thankful that she didn't go and do that to his phone just now. Balancing both phones in his hands as his thumbs worked away, he gave a final nod to signal that the deed was done. "Your phone is almost cuter than me. Can't believe I have competition from a phone." He joked as he handed it back, even prepared to tuck his own phone away until his new friend got curious. Taking his phone back out again to make sure his wallpaper didn't magically change when he wasn't looking, he snorted when he saw the usual picture of Amber and Larry huddled together on his teenie phone.
"At least your age, huh? Right now that girl is probably older than you are." He had to snort at the thought of Amber being mistaken for his girlfriend. That wasn't the first time someone made that mistake, but it was easier to laugh it off than act horrified at the thought. "She's my sister, actually. Unless you mean that stud of a bird right next to her. Then yeah, you got me. I'm dating a bird." He joked, flipping his phone back shut as he crammed it back in his pocket.
Her line right felt a little suggestive to him, and figuring that nothing bad could come out of it, he played along. "I'm a proud single Danny at the moment, but if that ever changed, I'd probably need like...an entire bag of good luck charms to make it last." He wished he was joking, but as much as he loved to flirt, had no idea how to handle what came after flirting. How did trainers handle the dating scene anyways? He knew it wasn't the most conventional thing to date while possibly being in two different regions almost all of the time, but it must've been possible.
They must've spent a good half hour battling each other, because when Danny finally noticed more people than usual walking around, he figured that it was close to lunch time. Now that was something Larry and Aph could appreciate after a tough first trainer battle.

She gave him a smile. It was a goofy sort of smile as she took a deep breath. This guy really was something wasn't he?
"So she's an old haggy now, you say?" She didn't quite mean that. Quite. I mean.. she really was the perfect age though. That really couldn't be denied by anyone with any sense. Once you hit 15 you were the perfect age for a few years. At your peak.
She looked around the sights again. That vibe of running water and the sun. There was something peaceful about them after all that fighting. She supposed that was something that getting your adrenaline going was good for. It made the quiet moments even better.
She was reasonably sure she hadn't broken out in a sweat though right.. she didn't need acne to hit her when she was taking so much pictures of herself.
She laughed at all the stuff he had said at this point. He was being.. kinda cute. Seemed upset about using the third Pokemon. "Nah, I told you could use all three. I mean.. that's how I wanted it. I guess I was pretty sure they could do it. I mean, I'm still sure they can do it! They are amazing! The best!" The young girl's cheeks where a little puffed up as she got defensive over her Pokemon. Just because they didn't do it once didn't mean they couldn't do it again!
You don't know them like I do
My posts will be more regular now. Dialogue cuteness flows much easier for me.

He had to laugh at Arietta’s vocabulary, easily imagining Amber with a dozen wrinkles around her cheeks and eyes as she flashed him that condescending stare she always gave him whenever he went over the top with hilarity. Sometimes, he really did imagine her as having the personality of an ‘old haggy’, and she was the younger sibling. ”You got that right. She’s the goldie oldie, and I’m six. Possibly younger.” Satisfied with talking at his own pace, he suddenly slowed down when he realized that Arietta was spending more time listening than talking. It wasn’t something he was good at noticing, but after having his ear yanked by his father and sister for so long due to his lack of listening, at least he was aware of the problem. It was just a tricky problem that he often forgot about due to being in his blissfully ignorant state of mind, but by the time he calmed down, he had a chance to catch it after it happened.
Relieved with Arietta’s answer, he had a harder time feeling guilty regarding that sort of reasoning. ”I believe it. They might’ve been the best before, but now they’re the bestest. I bet they all gained so much experience, that their experience points are preggers with experience points.” Of course, his Pokemon were in the ultimate bestestest tier, and Larry was the king, but he restrained himself from going on another bragging spree. As far as he was concerned, he already had the chance to show them off, so he didn’t mind passing the spotlight the Arietta. ”But the real question is: can the best best the best? You know, Gym Leaders. I’ve thought about it myself, but then I Youtube’d some of the battles and x’d out of the tab faster than you can say ‘Weary Wingull eats Chris Pringle’." Now that was the truth. Regardless of the Kalos sized faith he had in his companions, after watching a couple of Gym Leaders go at it, even he could tell how outclassed he was. At this point, it felt impossible to get a single badge, but all trainers had to start somewhere, and how was he any different from them when they first started their journeys as trainers?
Exactly. As long as he worked with his team, and boy did he hate work thanks to his birth mother, he could get somewhere. At the very least, he wanted to one-up his little sister. It sounded like an easier goal than beating up a bunch of gym leaders at least. Why go for a mob when you can just take down the boss? That logic worked for his sense of pride, even if it did sound pretty silly.

She still didn't know what to make of his banter. On one hand there was a playfulness to it that she was sure many people found quite charming. Still..
There was something else. Arietta couldn't shake the feeling. It felt like there was something hiding about all of that. When he spoke.. all she got was charm. No information. She didn't like it.
"Look.. you can be honest with me, you know? Wierdo. What do you really think of my Pokemon. Like you said, there are so many amazing trainers out there. I know my Pokemon can do anything they put their mind to but.." she said. Adorable claims of being best bestest aside, she knew that's not exactly how Danny felt. It was a bit repeating now but again, they were just adorable. They weren't anything else. He was kissing ass. She had a fine one and deserved it, but she wanted it to be honest and true.. full of things she could actually hold onto.
"I can understand though, it's not easy to know someone does something better then yourself. I think the key is to remember that you have something they will never have, and if you bring it out.. you'll be able to accomplish things they never could. Everyone has something special that makes them better at certain things then others."
"It just so happens that what makes me special will make me the best." she said, smirking.
