Now that she’d finally laid claim to three members of the wish list of the individual who had a Mudkip, she then finally made her way back into Unova and was now headed for the Lab of one Professor Shelena Io, who apparently dealt with Water-type ‘mons. She was quite surprised to find out that she was the individual who had an extra Mudkip in her lab, and she now balanced three Pokeballs in her hands—each of them contained a rabid Tentacool, a languid Chinchou, and an extremely feisty Krabby (as she later found out while reading through the notes that she had been taking down). Now that she’d found the entrance—which looked like it was in an extremely isolated area, she then descended down the lone, cramped stairwell and was not surprised to hear the wind howling so loud the further she went down… or was it her imagination…
Sooner or later she came face to face with a very battered looking green steel door with one dingy light hanging over it (that wasn’t on at the moment, because it was still day time) and then she lcontinued to look for something… anything, really, which served as an entrance to wherever the “real” entrance was—she guessed. After looking around, she finally found a button and hit that, causing the battered green gate to slide open, revealing a much more proper-looking entrance; and then it led to a hatch in the floor. Now what was she going to do…? That question was answered when what sounded like an intercom broke out of nowhere; asking for her name and reason of visit.
Whoa, touchy much? She thought, keeping her face (and voice) as calm as possible when she stated what the hell she was doing down here. “My name is Izumi, Yamamura Izumi; and I’ve come here with some ‘mons for Professor Io’s wish list,” she said, deciding that telling the truth was the best thing to do anyway in this case.

Professor Shelena Io,
Every drop in the ocean Counts
Io paused in her work when the labs intercom buzzer went off. "Hero can you get that?" she called out turning her head away from taking measurements to look out the sub rooms door. The Haunter drifted passed the open frame with a salute. Allowing the occupant inside the upper room as Io paused in her work patting the 4'0" Lapras that floated in the Sub bay on the head. "Be right back." she told it and moved over to the spare intercom inside the room going through the same old slang of who and why they were there.
“My name is Izumi, Yamamura Izumi; and I’ve come here with some ‘mons for Professor Io’s wish list.”
She paused with her lips in a puckered O as her eyes blinked behind the silver wire frames. Well, that certainly turned the tide for her. Io snapped her fingers to get the Haunters attention and motioned quickly for the Haunter to go and help show them in. "That's wonderful." she said trying to keep the excitement out of her voice but failing miserably. "Turn the hatch counter clockwise and pull up to open it. Hero will show you down to the lab." she said and let go of the button. Turning back to the Lapras she finished taking the aquatic types measurements and marked them down on her clipboard as she tipped her head staring at it. "I'm gonna have to think of a name for you." she said tapping the pen to her bottom lip in thought. "I'll do that later though, come on." she prompted patting the top of her thigh. "Out of the water." The Lapra's wobbling anxiously wanting to obey as it floated back and forth in front of the stairs before flopping in a wet belly jump up them and wobbled along the floor following Io back into the lab and over towards Cora's pillow where the pink prickle bush moved over to share.
Turning back to the lab she set the clipboard down on the table next to the pokemons folder and information to be added in as she looked up towards the double doors waiting on her guest to arrive.

It was most certainly a good thing that she was not holding the three Pokeballs (that had been labeled with appropriate stickers denoting who was inside which) when she heard a tinny voice over what she assumed to be the intercom speak back at her; and she then nodded, before saying, “Thank you,” but then the line of communication had gone silent. Crouching down to the floor, she then studied the hatch—it looked old, it certainly was heavy; but with a little elbow grease she would be able to open it up! After contemplating the hatch for a few moments, she then flexed her arms and then began twisting it in the aforementioned counter-clockwise direction. What the hell is the door stuck? She thought, continuing to twist with all her might.
After a few more moments of struggling, she finally heard the thing creak, before continuing to turn it—and then, the hatch eventually rose off of its rusty hinges and was now “free” to accommodate one person, so to speak. She then tugged at it until she could fit herself inside—and almost got the shock of her life when she saw a levitating ‘mon not too far away from the entrance, veiled in the shadows! The hell! She almost screeched, but managed to keep her composure as she slid down the opening—where it then clanged shut. “So…” she began, addressing the shadow in question, “Lead the way,” she ended, looking towards the levitating specter for assistance.
The floating Haunter then turned tail and began leading her through the seemingly endless maze of walkways and paths; before coming to a stop in front of a set of double doors. Before she could ask how she was going to enter, said specter slipped through the doors—and as she approached, the double doors hissed open without a sound—and she was slightly taken aback due to that fact. Whoa, technology never really fails to impress me, she added to herself as she stepped into the light that was pouring out of the room beyond—and came across a bespectacled individual; whom she suspected to be the Professor.
“Hello there,” she began, before automatically going into a bow of respect and then eventually straightening up, “I have three Water-types for you,” she said, quickly digging into her jacket and taking out three Pokeballs. One of them was, quite amusingly enough, labeled with a sticker of a green tentacle (apparently it was a joke on this so-called thing called C’thulhu that she’d read about somewhere); while the other one had a sticker that had a small crab’s pincer on it—and as for the last one, it simply had a light bulb. Why was it a light bulb? She then internally cringed at how that Chinchou had taken al those Thunderbolt attacks without even breaking a sweat.
“The Krabby is a feisty one,” she continued, nudging the Pokeball with the pincer sticker on it, “I wasn’t even going to attack it yet when I approached, he attacked me. I had to defend myself. This little Chinchou on the other hand,” she continued, poking the Pokeball with the light bulb sticker, “…for some strange reason it can take a full-on Thunderbolt to the face and not bat an eyelash. As for C’thul—errr, Tentacool over here—he sure loves his Poison-type attacks,” she concluded, gently nudging the tentacle-labeled Pokebal in the same direction. “They’re all unique in their own special ways; and not to worry, I haven’t given any of them nicknames yet, as I leave that for you to decide,” she ended with another nod; hoping that her explanation was enough!

Professor Shelena Io,
Every drop in the ocean Counts
Blue eyes silently watched the awestruck wonder wash over the girls face. A typical reaction but one Io secretly preened on from time to time. She nodded her head at the greeting before putting her hands into her lab coats pockets. "My name is Professor Shelena Io. How can I help you?"
“I have three Water-types for you,” Io's brows rose up from behind her silver wire frames watching the dark haired girl, Izmith or something dig into her jacket pockets. Her head tipped in curious manner eyeballing the prizes wondering where she came from or how she knew about her wishlist. "Are you from the League?" she inquired side stepping the table and approaching her, "Or are you a friend of the ho- Mr. Nickter?" she recovered that last bit nearly calling her VIP a hobo before rectifying the situation.
“The Krabby is a feisty one,” She reached out with her hand to pick up the Pokeball pausing for a moment in nostalgia at the little trainer stickers placed on it. “I wasn’t even going to attack it yet when I approached, he attacked me. I had to defend myself. This little Chinchou on the other hand,” Boy those brought back some college and internship memories. “…for some strange reason it can take a full-on Thunderbolt to the face and not bat an eyelash. As for C’thul—errr, Tentacool over here—he sure loves his Poison-type attacks.”A bemused grin on her face as she listed to the girl explain each of the Pokemon and their personalities to her. She pulled her eyes from the cute stickers and back up to the girl. “They’re all unique in their own special ways; and not to worry, I haven’t given any of them nicknames yet, as I leave that for you to decide.”
Well that was kind of her. Though Io had to admit she wasn't quite sure how to take all the gifts. The way she paused and looked over at her expectantly was clue enough a verbal "good job" wasn't going to cut it. Io clicked her tongue and leaned her hip against the lab table. "How much are they?" asked crossing her arms and settling into a negotiation stance. Those were three she most definitely wanted for her collection. The only thing was, what could she possibly have that girl would want in return? She looked over at the thud which was her baby Lapras trying to play through the glass dome to the Mudkips swimming around teasing it outside. "Brita, come on now down off the glass." she said lightly scolding and patting her thigh to get the young Pokemons attention. Io turned her eyes back to the girl expectantly. "Well? Do you have a price?"

“Well,” she began, quickly looking around (if in case they were being watch—blame it on her being too paranoid) “I got word from some of the Breeders that you were able to get a recent ‘storm’ of Mudkips, as you may—and that there’s one last Mudkip that hasn’t been picked up yet? The other two siblings… I believe one of them went to another region; as for the other, I have no idea,” she admitted. How she knew about this was thanks to some of her contacts in the Breeding world, and that even if they wanted to get the Mudkip for themselves, one of them decided to give it to her instead as some kind of a Christmas gift.
“Normally, I know that Breeders would charge in the local currency, which is Dots—but I’ve come across someone who I think you’ve met—Leon, I think his name was—and he had this wish list on him; so I decided to look around for some of the ‘mons listed there in exchange for the Mudkip—since I know that it’s classified as a ‘rare’ and all that,” she said by way of explanation, hopefully that was enough to make sense for the Professor in front of her! At the sight of what was going on out back, she had to resist the urge to actually go over to the window and tap the glass at the cute, little mudfish-like ‘mons that had webbing sticking out of their faces; as they were all too busy playing what looked to be a game of chase with the giant Transport ‘mon she knew was Lapras.
“Would these three be fair enough for the price of that one last Mudkip?” she inquired a few moments later—hopefully she didn’t have to bail out more Dots as needed!

Professor Shelena Io,
Every drop in the ocean Counts
A brow rose up in curious concern as her inquiry seemed to set the girl into a shifty sort of grace. Io's eyes narrowed in suspicion, scrutinizing the possible incoming B.S. story this young one would spin for her. “Well, I got word from some of the Breeders that you were able to get a recent ‘storm’ of Mudkips, as you may—and that there’s one last Mudkip that hasn’t been picked up yet? The other two siblings… I believe one of them went to another region; as for the other, I have no idea.” Her tongue rolled into her cheek as she crossed her arms and shifted her stance. "That's rather informative for just hearing it through the grapevine." she said crossing one of her legs. "Is there anything else you care to add?"
“Normally, I know that Breeders would charge in the local currency, which is Dots—but I’ve come across someone who I think you’ve met—Leon," Leon? Leon...Hnn. Her tongue moved down in front of her teeth behind her bottom lip in thought before shaking her head no. It didn't ring a bell. Especially that name, unless it was that Jagermister. The one who left her to baby sit his Pokemon till he "returned" . "I think his name was—and he had this wish list on him; so I decided to look around for some of the ‘mons listed there in exchange for the Mudkip—since I know that it’s classified as a ‘rare’ and all that.”
"Oooh," she opened her eyes wide in recollection, as very few people out of the League itself knew of her every changing want ads. "You mean Ron Jagermister." she said pointing her finger at the girl. "Yeah I know him," she said nodding her head recalling her giving him the wishlist she had. “Would these three be fair enough for the price of that one last Mudkip?” Io's hips pushed off of the counter tops edge and loosened up the brooding stance. Her head turned to look over at the bubble's glass where Skipper and his new spawn were busy smashing their faces against the glass teasing Cora and Brita. "Three for one?" She said walking over towards one of her filing cabinets and pulling out a Pokeball. "I think that'll be an acceptable trade in."
The Professor moved back into the sub-room with the Pokeball in hand before a shrill whistle was heard. The blue faces mashed against the glass pulled back and turned their heads to the right looking towards where the sound was coming from before the whistle pierced the air again and the two swam over towards the open bottomed room. "There you are." she said leaning down and picking up the smaller Mudkip and rubbing her finger up the bridge of its nose as she smiled down at it. "You're going on an adventure okay?" she explained to it and then popped the pokeball open. A flash from inside the sub-room flickered out into the lab itself before she stepped out with the Pokeball in hand. "Be sure to stop back if there's ever an issue or if you need something done with the Pokemon. I like seeing how they're doing and it allows the others to catch up on it's adventure." She stopped back in front of the young girl and reached over taking the three Pokeballs on the lab table and pulled them towards her with one hand as she glided the Mudkip barring one with the other in silent trade. "Anything else I can help you with?"

She chuckled at the professor’s words when she mentioned a name, it sounded awfully like… “Ah yes that’s it, his full name was Leon Jaeger… the Jagermister reference helped me remember his surname,” she said, unable to resist the urge to laugh—instead screwing her face up in a grin. “I don’t know how word gets out, but the Breeders have a rumor mill that operates as fast as a trading business always does,” she said in an off-hand manner, secretly glad that the three feisty ‘mons were indeed, a fair price for the rare Mudkip that she was about to acquire. Seeing that the Professor had gone out back and looked for the smallest of the lot, she watched as the other Mudkips looked on in awe; and what looked like a Lapras was relieved—what the heck was going on behind the glass anyway?
A few moments later, she returned with the Pokeball that had the little Mudkip, and then said, just in case the silence was too overwhelming—“If you have a wish list here, then I can go out and find the rest of them for you—but I assume you may have some people who are already doing that… but it’s all up to you, since I travel a lot and encounter a lot of these Water-types—they’re everywhere, like mushrooms,” she added, scooping up the Pokeball that now had said Mudkip within, and then offered a deep bow. “Unless you have an affinity for another type, then I can go out and get them for you. I’ll be here in Unova for quite a bit,” she added, before slowly heading back towards the entrance, taking these careful backwards steps just in case they weren’t over with the entire transaction yet!

Professor Shelena Io,
Every drop in the ocean Counts
“I don’t know how word gets out, but the Breeders have a rumor mill that operates as fast as a trading business always does.”She pulled back after the trade, the three pokeballs clutched in her splayed fingers as she cradled them to her side. “If you have a wish list here, then I can go out and find the rest of them for you—but I assume you may have some people who are already doing that… but it’s all up to you, since I travel a lot and encounter a lot of these Water-types—they’re everywhere, like mushrooms.” Io knew all too well how numerous the inhabitants were in her field of study. It was one of the reasons why she chose it. She'd never run out of discoveries, the ocean was the birthplace of life after all. "I can give you the list I gave everyone else but with a few updates to it if you'd like. I acquired several new ones since I sent out my prior lists and unless they check into the lab or anything those who have my list are behind on what all I have or am in need of." She watched the girl pick the Mudkips Pokeball up and bowed to her causing Io to promptly do the same though not as low. Just a slight tip forward with a nod of the head. The girl had done her a great service with the three she brought. Now all she had to do was research them. The next words that left her though caused Io to stop mid turn of her head and look back at her. “Unless you have an affinity for another type, then I can go out and get them for you." Io pushed her glasses up her nose with her free hand causing a flash of light to hide her eyes for a moment. The girl had unknowingly opened Pandora's box and Io nearly pulled the black list from the back of her mind when she finished up. "I’ll be here in Unova for quite a bit.” The glimmer faded and Io snapped out of it as she shook the moment off and rolled her shoulders back letting her head toss to the side watching as the young woman backed away towards the door.
"No, that's quite all right. Thank you for the offer though," She placed her free hand down into her lab coat pocket and held up the three Pokeballs in her right hand. "These will keep me busy enough, but if you run into a water type that you think I may be interested in you can call the Lab." she said back peddling towards her desk grabbing a business card and writing down the labs number in blue ink before walking it over and handing it to her. "If you need anything call that number and if you get the machine just leave a message and I'll get back with you soon as I can." She moved back from the girl and lifted her chin in a dismissive nod. "Thank you, for visiting Nacre Labs."

She was slightly surprised at the Professor’s reaction—and she was about to exit the premises when she was handed a card; and upon flipping it to its opposite side, saw that there was a umber scrawled on it in blue ink—and she then heard the Professor’s final words. “I’ll be sure to give you a call in the future; it’s very possible I’ll be running into a lot of Water-types—since they’re almost everywhere you look,” she added with one final bow, before slipping the calling card discreetly into her jacket pocket. She then retraced her steps back the way she came, making sure to shrink down the Pokeball that contained the Mudkip, and she dropped it down into her jacket pocket as she continued the climb, still looking around at the surrounding environment that made up the Professor’s Lab.
After climbing the narrow, tight staircase, she finally found herself nearing the entrance, and with another twist and heft, turned the hatch so that it would open—she guessed that since it needed to be turned counter-clockwise for it to open from one side, she then tried the opposite direction to see if it would open—she had no success at first, but after throwing in all of her strength, it finally budged, and she extracted herself from the simple, unassuming-looking entrance that apparently led to Professor Io’s lab.
“Come on then,” she said to nobody in particular, “…let’s get exploring,” and with another look around, gave a final bow in the direction of the security camera, and then took her leave.
