Now that she’d finally acquired Nixe, she decided that it was time to take out the Penguin ‘mon for a spin. Hoping to add some additional recruits to the team (and for switching purposes as well) she then decided to go to Mount Moon, where Claire said their training sessions would take place. While she hadn’t scheduled a session yet, she decided to get some catching down and done—because the more ‘mons one had on hand, and the more situations she could adapt to, it was the better.
After finally circling around the outside area of Mount Moon, she finally saw the Cave entrance, and then marched in, fully expecting darkness and muck to envelope her. Instead though, there were some instances of light—it was as if she could see! Hoping that she would not bump into anything too fishy, she then toughened her resolve, and made her way into the darker depths of the cave, hoping to encounter something that was worth her actual while… making sure to look around and be on the alert, because one would never know what would appear and jump out, or drop down from who-knew-where inside the darkening cave’s depths…

Just as she was about to start looking around and bracing herself for whatever went “bump” in the night, she heard the ground by her feet erupt, and she almost jumped back out of surprise—just in time to see something sticking out of the ground! It was… for lack of a better word, titchy. “What the heck is that,” he began, snickering and trying not to burst out laughing, before it began saying in what appeared to be monotone, “Dig, dig, dig, diglett. Dig, dig, diglett!” and then inching towards her. Oh crap what did I just do… she thought as she quickly reached for one of the many Pokeballs that she had in her possession… and then finally decided to send out Momo, if but to check and ogle her once again—as she was still in shock to see that her beloved Ralts was no longer a Ralts, but a Kirlia.
Momo appeared in a flash of red light, before doing the one obligatory “introduction” spin. “Kirlia, ki?” she heard her ask, looking behind her and seeing Izumi’s surprised face, before she pointed downwards, almost to the ground. “Well, Momo… Calm Mind first, and then smack it as best as you can with Magical Leaf, okay?” she said with a grin while directing Momo’s attention towards the little thing that was still saying, “Dig, dig, dig, diglett. Dig, dig, diglett!” while making its way towards them. Nope. Sorry, not you, little… finger?! Was all she could add in the back of her mind, before Momo nodded, and attempted to center her focus—when she was suddenly knocked back, as if she’d gotten hit by something? But wait a second… she began, looking at Momo in confusion; as she attempted to ready the Calm Mind once again. “What the hell was that?!” she asked, her voice echoing—and Momo decided to get on with the program, quickly making the leaf-shaped energy materialize and then chase down the apparent “threat”.
The leaves then sailed through the air, catching the Diglett seemingly head-on; before the ground around Momo erupted in a burst of power, and she then added, “Momo, hold your ground, and let’s get it with Confusion, now!” she added, quickly skidding off to one side just in case the ground decided to get all wonky. Momo nodded, and then she watched as the lump of energy manifested in front of her, before it went screaming through the air towards the Diglett, which was about to dodge it—but unfortunately got smacked. “Let’s do it one more time, Momo! Magical Leaf, now!” she called out, quickly realizing that she was trapped in this area until that little thing… got chased off. “Kirlia, ki!” came the answer from up ahead, and she watched once more as the leaves rematerialized and whizzed through the air, smacking the little ‘finger’s’ body from all directions—and it finally retreated off to one side, recognizing that it was about to be defeated—or much worse.
“Whew, glad that that’s over with…” she said, walking back into view and then nodding in Momo’s direction. “Well, shall we go?” she asked, before receiving a nod and a spin of joy. “Kirlia, ki.”

Since her original objective was to look for some more additional firepower for her team, she decided to get some of the more well-known (and apparently loved) Ghost-types… when this sudden “orb” of floating gas stuck its tongue out and scared the hell out of her, causing her to shriek! “What the hell!?” escaped her lips, before seeing that the “floating orb” had an actual face and was leering at her out of spite… “Kirlia, kirlia, ki!” Momo called out from somewhere near her waist area—and then she quickly called out her first command, “Momo, hit that floating blob with a Confusion attack, now! Before it licks the hell out of us!” she added in a squeaky tone, and then the Kirlia swiftly nodded and prepared to unleash the hunk of psychic energy when the floating blob suddenly projected an image of itself, startling Momo out of her concentration!
“Gastly, gastly, gaaaaast.” She heard it howl, as if lost in another world; and Momo quickly shook her head and then attempted to send the Confusion attack once more—and this time, the blob of psychic energy seemingly “emerged” from nothingness and immediately went whizzing through the air, smacking the Gastly right in the face before it was seemingly pushed back by some margin. Izumi quickly added to the command, “Momo, b careful, he looks… nasty. Okay, let’s try a Magical Leaf attack on it—and watch yourself!” she added out of caution, before seeing what looked like a “manifested” fist smack the Kirlia from out of nowhere—what was that?! She then shook her head and saw that Momo was holding her ground, although she looked somewhat battered. “Okay, let’s go, Magical Leaf!” she tried again, and this time, the leaves shimmered from out of nowhere and screamed through the air, passing through the gaseous part—yet hitting the visible “face” at the same time.
“Okay Momo, Confusion attack, one more time!” she added a few moments later, and the same shimmering blob of physically-manifested psychic energy sailed through the air, hitting the spectral figure before it even had a chance to try another attack; and at this point Izumi had a blank, unoccupied Pokeball ready. “You’re coming with me, you know, so behave!” she shouted, quickly tossing the empty Pokeball and watching it burst open and swallow up the “levitating face” in a flash of red light… and now the waiting began. Would it come with her? Would it struggle…?

After she’d watched the ball stop rocking, she knew that she was successful—and then knew that she had another companion for her adventures! She then strode over to where the ball had fallen and picked it up, before grinning and then placing it in her pocket. “Ki, kirlia, ki?” she heard Momo ask from behind her, and she turned around and then nodded. “We have a new companion now. But seeing as I can only keep six on me… well, guess this one’s going in reserve,” she added, and Momo felt the wave of happy emotion wash over her, and she then gave a delighted spin and twirl—before stopping dead and then looking at a certain point behind Izumi—as her back was turned to the incoming… horde! “Kirlia, kirlia, KI!” she heard Momo call out, gesticulating wildly behind her, trying to catch her attention. “Momo, what’s the matter…?” she asked, seeing her ‘mon pointing and apparently flailing, which then made her turn around… and almost fall over out of surprise!
There were approximately several little ones with weird-looking tails, and hearing the chorus cry out as one was more than enough to make her own head spin and flip the nearest rock out of irritation! “Wynaut? Wynaut?! Wynaut! Wy, wy, wynaut!” she heard the entire chorus call out—it was simply appalling—but then she remembered that she was contacted by several people who wanted to get their hands on one of these little… cretins. Realizing that Momo would probably not make a difference, she quickly slipped out her temporary residence and said, “Okay, you can return now…” and watched as she did one final spin, before disappearing in a flash of red light. She then rummaged around and quickly found the one she was looking for, and in another flash of red light, her Deino nicknamed Riku, made its appearance… and she was secretly glad that he was blind to the world, but sharp of hearing.
“Well, Riku… First things first… let’s scare off the weaker ones with a Roar attack, shall we?” she called out, and hearing the sound of his mistress’ voice, he felt reassured, before hunching down and holding his ground, and taking a deep breath, and then unleashing an almighty-sounding roar; one that was enough to make the ceiling tremble and quake. Two of the titchier Wynauts were instantly terrified, and rolled over themselves to get out due to the surprising sound—yet there were still enough of them around…. And she did a quick headcount, before her lips burst into a beautiful grin. Perfect, she thought with another smirk, as the remaining five Wynauts quickly charged in, seemingly as one unit—and then she issued her next set of commands. “Riku, use your Bite attack as much as you can, and go take them down, but don’t overwhelm them!” she added with a tone of confidence, and she heard the lone growl of “Deino!” in reassurance as she watched the little dragon rush forward, jaws bared open in a snarl as the first Wynaut attempted to hold its ground—and then it was just simply a mess.
She could hear the sounds and wails of the Wynauts echo throughout the area, and she quickly covered her ears with her hands, before calling out once more, “Don’t forget to use your Headbutt, and your Dragonbreath attack to keep them at bay!” and then just simply watched the carnage, trying to keep the echoing noise of their collective cries from reaching her ears and driving her crazy. She then continued to watch as one by one, the five Wynauts were eventually tired out, most of them resorting to using some kind of attack that protected them from receiving any kind of status-changing effect; and a few moments later, the first Wynaut simply toppled over from the force and battery of Riku’s continued and persistent assaults of its Headbutt attack. “Keep it up, Riku, and keep using your Bite attack, then follow it up again with Dragonbreath and finally, a Headbutt, go!”
“Dei, deino!!!” it roared, before charging once again into the heat of the fray—it looked like they were just using some of their lesser-known attacks, and she continued, “Keep up the assault of attacks, Riku! Go!” and then willed herself to take her hands out of her ears before reaching around into her messenger bag and quickly bringing out first one Pokeball and tossing it towards the first fallen Wynaut. Not too soon after, two more Wynaut staggered and flopped over in defeat, so she quickly followed this up with two more empty Pokeballs and watched as the devices opened and absorbed them all in a flash of red light—but there were two more, and it looked like they were bracing themselves. She then called out again, “Keep alternating between Dragonbreath and Bite, you’re doing a good job!” and then saw that Riku was pushed back out of recoil—how did they manage to push him back?! “Keep going!” she encouraged him, and he renewed his assault on them, sinking its fangs straight into their tails and battering them with flames seemingly pouring out of his gaping maw, and after some time, the remaining two Wynaut flopped over by the wayside, and out came two more Pokeballs, which swallowed them all up in a flash of red light.
Now she was waiting for five Pokeballs to stop rocking and shaking, because she was secretly thankful she carried a lot of these capturing devices with her… come on, behave, you little ones, I’ll get you your homes! She thought, waiting for all of the balls to stop rocking…

She was expecting one of them would go loose, but watched in surprise as all five Pokeballs wobbled once, twice, three times… and then with a loud, as if almost simultaneous click, they all stopped wobbling. She then blinked, and rubbed her eyes—and then Riku went over to where the five Pokeballs were, and then began sniffing at one of them, before rolling them all together, and then calling Izumi’s attention with, “Deino, dei?” and then shuffling around to where he assumed she stood—he couldn’t see her after all, just listen to the sound of her voice. “Okay, Riku, I’m coming, give me a moment,” she said, suddenly snapping out of that little reverie she’d sunk into; and then walking over to where he stood, and scooping up all of the Pokeballs in one go. “Now, come on, let’s get out of here and get some rest…” she trailed off, before dropping all of the Pokeballs into her other pocket.
“Deino, dei.” She heard him growl, and stood his ground as she quickly took out his temporary residence and summoned him back in a flash of red light, watching as the little bull-headed Dragon-type ‘mon vanish. She then sighed, before turning her footsteps around, and walking back out of the cave, marveling at how the darkness was receding, before finally exiting the way she came, shaking her head once she’d stepped into the harsh sunlight bearing down on Mt. Moon.
