“What! Are you kidding me?!”
This was her initial reaction when she’d popped by one of the shops, if but to look for a souvenir to take back to Hoenn, to commemorate her visit to Unova. The attendant behind the counter sighed, before addressing her in a huffy voice, “Well miss, I’m selling it at that price, either you take it, or get out of here… you poor-looking bumpkin,” before giving her another elevator look. Izumi was dressed quite simply (her favorite black-and-red hoodie jacket over a black sleeveless turtleneck, frayed denim jeans and comfortable traveling boots), and then she cast a furtive look around her—almost everyone else browsing through the shop was dressed in similar fashion, though they were just looking, not buying… “Gah, such highway robbery…” she hissed to herself as she did an about-face, before squaring her shoulders and walking out of the store, shoving the door open and finally finding herself out in the streets of Black City once more.
“Who knew that if you were going to this place, you needed a lot of money?!” she said to herself, stuffing her hands into her hoodie’s pockets, before walking towards the nearest lamp post and resting herself on it, looking around. It was a metropolis, and it seemed to be void of any signs of vegetation—and there were people rushing about here and there, pouring out of the office buildings and different establishments, all wrapped up in their own little worlds. After a while, she then found one of the four occupied Pokeballs, and then let its passenger out in a flash of red light, and there was Momo, her Ralts, quickly tugging on the hem of her jeans—like she always did.
“Ralts?” she heard her companion ask in an inquiring voice, while looking around.
It was quite a normal day, it was quiet and subtle. Styling the outfit of her desire today Serenity could be seen attracting all the attention from the men she passed by. Not paying any attention though her hair was tied into a high side ponytail on the left side of her head, her ponytail was curly and she had a bang covering the right of her eye. Her outfit of today featured a pair blue jean short shorts with a long sleeved sweatshirt that held the words "LIGHT UP MY HEART" upon it. The sweatshirt would reveal naked skin upon the right of her shoulder as the left shoulder was covered by the sweatshirt. Upon her feet were a pair of black thigh-high socks with a pair of white sneakers upon her feet.
Wandering throughout the streets of Black City, our young feminine coordinator Serenity could be seen holding quite a few bags within her hands. Even her pokemon Gible was jolting around helping her carry a bag on top of its head. Serenity held four bags in each hand that had separate items within them. This was quite a busy day for her for she loved Black City. The Black City was almost like a shopping for the most wealthiest of people, but Serenity was not rich. This was her parents money of course and she was given quite a few credit cards to spend on her journey. Her father was quite the generous man.
Having the time of her life she would notice a woman leaning on a stop sign across the street. She had seemed to have had a Ralts beside her, she seemed almost like a thug and had quite a bad attitude. Honestly, she didn't scare Serenity slightly one bit for she had almost a rocker look to her. Serenity loved the rocker look. She kinda always wanted a friend like this woman for she seemed to be a tomboy and a tomboy next to a girly girl are told to be the two most perfect set of twin sisters.
Crossing the street as she was now allowed to Serenity would run over while her Gible followed behind tumbling along with the bag in its hand. Gible had arrived first to the other side of the street landing beneath the girl. Looking up she seemed to look scary and Gible would ski-dattle right behind the back of Serenity's leg. Serenity would stand in front of the woman and would hold out her hand and gave a happy go lucky smile, "Hi, I'm Serenity!" Smiling she would do so hoping to brighten this rockers day, "Is everything alright, friend?" Asked Serenity.

She could feel the insistent tugging at her hemline, when a voice interrupted her thoughts—it was also female, which was a relief. Looking up from her sullen mood, she saw that there was another girl in front of her, and quick on the uptake, she introduced herself as well. “Hello there,” she began, before adding, “Well, is it just me… or is everything in this area really expensive?” she added, before realizing that she’d forgotten to introduce herself! “You can call me Izumi… and I was looking for a souvenir shop here, but everything seems to be… unbelievably overpriced,” she added with a chuckle, while she noticed that there was another ‘mon hiding behind Serenity’s feet—it was one she’d never seen before; and it looked pretty nervous.
“Ralts?” she heard Momo ask from somewhere near her feet, giving another tug at her jean’s hemline, before looking over to the other ‘mon. “Oh, go ahead and talk, if you want,” she said, quickly crouching down and giving the Ralts an affectionate pet on the head, her bad mood gone for the meantime. “It won’t hurt to make some friends now, Momo.”
“Ralts!” she heard it say, evidently pleased, spinning around with joy and absolutely beaming. Izumi then turned her attention back to Serenity and asked, “Are you from around here? Unova, I mean. I’m a long way from home… Hoenn, to be exact,” she began, tugging down at the zipper and removing her hoodie without fuss, then tying it around her waist. “I was looking for a souvenir shop here, do you happen to know any?” she continued, while casting a furtive look at where Momo was, attempting to talk with the little… is that a land shark or something? She thought in the back of her mind, quickly noticing the fin on its back.
Gible would dust itself off and the bag that it had held, but looking at the Ralts it would wave saying, Gible~! Gible was a kind Pokemon, but only because it was a Gible. Sometimes Serenity is afraid as to what will happen when it becomes a full-fledged Garchomp for they are very ruthless creatures when facing against enemies of their trainers. It has been told that to control a Garchomp the trainer would have to go under extensive training, but she didn't believe that. For when Gible became a full fledged Garchomp that he would be the same dragon type it was as it is right now, "Well, yeah. When shopping here it can get really crazy with the prices, perhaps I can buy the book that you were trying to buy?" Serenity was kind enough to do so. She didn't want the woman to go home without a souvenir.
Black City was a place to meet not only powerful trainers, but conduct battles filled with powerful Pokemon. Serenity did wonder if Izumi was a powerful trainer herself? She had the look of one that was for sure, but looking around Serenity wondered as to what shop was she trying to obtain the Book from? Turning back to Izumi as she had asked Serenity a question she would do, "I'm from Sinnoh, well, I've been traveling for sometime and I've met a lot of strong and cool people, hehe. How about yourself Ms.Hoenn? How has your travels been?" Serenity would ask giggling a little.

At Serenity’s offer, Izumi felt her eyes widen, before wringing her hands out of surprise! “No, no, you don’t need to buy it for me, I mean, well… if you know some places that sell cheaper, then you could show me around…” she trailed off sheepishly, looking at the shopping bags in her hands—and only noticing now that the little Gabite was holding a shopping bag of its own as well! I don’t want to admit it but I’m on a budget here… dang it I wish I brought along some Lava Cookies… she thought, trying to quash the thought of her stomach rumbling. A few moments later, it did eventually happen—if one listened closely, you could hear the sound of growling, and at that exact moment, she felt her face turn pink out of embarrassment! “Oh my goodness… I’m sorry if you heard that!” she said in a flustered manner, quickly flailing her arms and trying to relieve the situation.
At that same moment, her Ralts turned around and then gave her a smirk—an action which was unnatural for the Ralts line to do. Was she becoming so in-sync with her Pokemon, that it could already tell if she was embarrassing herself? Must be… unless it was my imagination… she thought, trying to hide her face, which was slowly yet surely turning a shade of pink, while keeping her eyes trained on Momo, who seemed to be dancing around Gible, before taking a peek inside the little bag that it was seemingly holding as well.
“Ralts?” she heard her ask, wondering what was inside the little bag the little land shark… err, Gabite was holding. “I’m sorry if my Ralts is the intensely curious type, she’s always like that,” she said a few moments later, trying to smooth over the embarrassing moment a while ago.
Gee, she sure was a nice gal. Serenity would giggle as she felt as though she shouldn't have the need to buy such a thing for her, but looking down Gible would show Ralts what was in the bag and it was a ball. A ball that was in the form of...well...a Gible? Gible would toss the ball to Ralts hoping it would catch the ball. Serenity would giggle because the scene between the two was just too cute! Suddenly, Serenity would jump out of fright as she heard...a beast? That was what it sounded like at least. Yes, a beat. Just causing a rumbling noise to slur about.
Turning to look straight at Izumi she was quite embarrassed, "A-are you hungry? There was a Cafe not too far from the direction we just came. Would you and Ralts like to join us?" Smiling she did so blushing. This was quite something indeed, Serenity never met anyone like her with such a big appetite. Unless, she was just really hungry and missed breakfast. Looking at Gible she would speak, "Gible, we're going to the Cafe we just passed on the way here, remember where it is?" Gible would turn around to face Serenity pointing east to where they had just came for. Gible would begin to lead the way the next in a marching like posture.
Gible did always like being the leader when times like this were needed, but whatever made Gible happy Serenity would let him do. Standing beside Izumi, Serenity would chuckle lightly, "So, what brought you to Black City anyway?" Questioned Serenity.

“Ralts!” she heard Momo trill from where she stood, watching as the little ball (which actually looked like a Gible, just shrunk down to miniature) was tossed her way, and just to tease, quickly harnessed just a bit of psychic power, making the ball float in front of her before she caught it in her tiny hands. After a few moments, she then tried her best to throw the ball—and ended up using her own psychic power instead to make it levitate back towards the Gible’s direction. “Ralts, ralts!” she heard it continue in a very happy tone—which meant it was prone to more spinning around and flailing—much like how Izumi was trying to cover up the embarrassing moment from earlier. “Well,” she began at last, giving a very sheepish grin, “If it won’t be too much of a bother, let’s go to the café you mentioned,” she said with a grin on her face, finally conceding at the notion that her hunger—and appetite—had won out over common sense!
After watching the Gible point in a certain direction, Momo quickly followed, keeping the little ball levitated up in the air as best as she could, and fell “in-step” behind the marching Gible as well—it looked like they were members of a marching band, minus all the instruments. Back to Izumi, she then cracked another grin at her Ralts before continuing, “I came here looking for a Rufflet… and I got lucky, but only after some time. They’re pretty secluded, and it seems that the one I caught was one of the bigger kids of their bunch, as they say,” she said, remembering that mountain hike and the eventual sprint through Lacunosa town, where she’d found the little one, who just… happened to be there. “I also came here on a tour… and hopefully, challenging Unova’s Gym circuit—but I have to get my Hoenn challenge done first,” she added with another grin on her face. “How about you, what brings you here to Unova? Sightseeing, or looking for certain partners to take along on your journey?” she continued.
Izumi never really refered to ‘mons as “creatures”; she referred to them as “partners”—since that was what they were in the first place; unless one had a warped mind of course.
Wow, this girl sounded so cool it made Serenity look pathetic. Serenity was going for the Contest Ribbons trying to become the Top Coordinator, but she was also trying to become the next Battle Frontier Champion or even perhaps a Brain. Facing the girl as she asked her about why she came Serenity would respond, "I simply came for sightseeing really. I need a break from preparing for Contest or training to challenge the Battle Frontier." Stretching her arms she would hold two fingers up sticking out her tongue, "I'm going to become the Top Coordinator who was the first to gain all seven symbols, hehe!" Serenity had big dreams. Really big dreams that were just out of this world, but as she would watch both Ralts and Gible leading the way toward the PokeStar Cafe. Serenity would look at the girl and asked.
"So, have you met any strong trainers or battled any gyms yet?" Serenity asked because she looked strong herself. She looked like the pre-evolution form of a future Elite 4 and could perhaps even become a badass herself. She had the look of a badass, why not become it? Serenity was really intrigued by this girl and she just seemed awesome!
Looking as Gible came to a halt they were at the Cafe Serenity had discussed on the way. Her stomach was growling and she could go for a delicious strawberry cake, "Here we are! PokeStar Cafe!" She said spreading her arms.

At the mention of the Battle Frontier, her own ears perked up. “Oohh, so you’re challenging the Battle Frontier in my home region? Well if you happen to drop by over there, I’d be more than happy to tour you around the area… and you should see the Contest Area in Lilycove. I can’t be too sure though, that if you win in Hoenn, that it would be recognized in the other regions. But still, it’s a good place to start,” she said with a grin on her face. “I’ve really wanted to try my luck at the Battle Pike, but knowing how random my luck can be, I’m starting to have second thoughts about that… but one day, I eventually would do that,” she added with that grin in her voice once more. As for the topic of trainers and Gym Challenges, she searched her mind, before answering with, “Well I know some people who are really getting into training their party, but as of now I have yet to challenge the entire Gym Circuits. I’m still building up my team, but once I do get the six that I’d need, then I’m pretty much ready to go,” she ended, realizing that her dream was getting closer and closer.
That is, of course, if that red-headed idiot would just ease up on the rampage he wants to cause. I have to be there if in case things get ugly, she thought as well, watching as Momo came to a stop, still levitating the Gible-shaped ball—and their “leader” had come to a halt as well, before Serenity spread her arms, as if gesturing to the entire world that this was the place to go to. “Oh my goodness, those cakes look fantastic!” Izumi beamed, her eyes traveling over the storefront’s display—she could see a variation of blueberry cheesecake, along with something that looked like a cross between a Black and White Forest (pun intended); as well as something that looked like, quite literally, a giant cookie. “This sure is making me hungry,” she quipped, before quickly stepping towards the door and holding it open for her new friend to step inside (seeing as she was still laden down with some of the paper bags).
“Ralts, ralts!” she heard Momo call out, before twirling and stepping inside. “Looks like someone here’s excited,” she added with a chuckle, watching as her ‘mon made a beeline for the even bigger cake display inside the store. “Shall we?” she asked, reaching for one of the other paper bags that Serenity was carrying, if to lighten the load she had in her hands.

Black City, a cesspool of greed if there ever was one. A city where Thomas Thaddeus would rather not even bother setting foot in, having enough sanity to go search for his goods elsewhere, and having no desire to battle the trainers who lurk around the city. However, the fact that Thomas' only option was to head to Black City in order to get a part for a machine that was only sold in the city as opposed to ordering it from another region forced his hand.
The trainer, garbed in his black suit, walked out of the shop, grumbling as he held the bag in his hand. The prices in Black City were one of the many reasons he hated the place with all of his heart. But sadly, he needed the machine soon, and despite being cheaper, ordering the part from another region would take far too long for his liking. But at least they had it in stock, and Thomas would be able to make a clean getaway from Black City.
Or so he thought. . .
Weasel was out of his Pokeball, walking beside his trainer. The Buizel smelled something good in the air, and immediately took off. Thomas noticed quickly, his eyes widening in panic as he ran to catch up with the water weasel. He was going very fast, and his Pokeball, alongside the one that contained his teammates, was inside of a messenger bag that would take time to open up, time that would cause the water weasel to break out of Thomas' line of sight.
"Weasel, wait up!", Thomas called out.
After a lengthy chase, it culminated into Weasel sliding into the sweet shop where Serenity and Izumi were looking at the sweets while another customer entered. An obese woman screamed at the site of the strange Pokemon entering the shop, the staff were immediately on guard. However, before the Buizel could potentially go up to the counter, Thomas ran into the store.
"Weasel, wait up!", Thomas called out. The trainer was out of breath, and slightly panicked.
Thankfully, the Buizel only pointed his trainer to the sweets, sniffing at them with a look that clearly indicated he was enjoying what he was smelling.
What the trainer didn't notice was that a familiar face was in the shop as well.
Smiling as Gible was in awe and the girls Ralts was so excited. Serenity couldn't help but feel so nostalgic. Humans and Pokemon's side by side having a wonderful time. Giggling a little bit as she did so. Serenity would smile toward the Izumi as she held the door for her, "Thanks!" Serenity would give her at least two shopping bags that were within her right hand as she smiled and was about to walk right on inside behind both our Pokemon, but that was when something caught her eye.
Turning to face a trainer that was yelling out toward his Buizel Serenity had seemed to be very confused. The Buizel's name was "Weasel" as it was skidattling about without a care in the world. It had seemed as though it was heading toward where both Serenity and Izumi were.
Looking at the Pokemon as it made its way toward our young ladies location. Serenity would stop for a minute to look at the Buizel and then back at the trainer who seemed a litte bit in awe, "Hey, do you know that guy?" Asked Serenity pointing at the man who stared at the two while on a wild goose chase with his Buizel.

She was about to remark about getting a place for them to sit down at (while their own ‘mons were seemingly ogling the cakes and sweets on display) when another ‘mon shot through the open door; and she heard another one of the more… conservative clients within the store give out a shriek about unattended Pokemon and then rambling—before someone (who she presumed to be the weasel-like Pokemon’s Trainer) came in not to long after, all out of breath and calling for his companion to stop—and then it hit her… “Yeah, now that you mention it… he looks familiar,” she began, before scouring her memories of all the past times in Lavaridge—when she was much younger, and still learning how to do things (this was back when they still had other staff members working for the family café) she would remember that there were some regulars who would always stop by, smelling of soot—guessing that they’d either succeeded in defeating Flannery, or not…
“Actually,” she began, dropping her voice to a whisper, “I remember him from back when I was a kid in Hoenn. He was… well, he was kind of a crybaby, seeing as how his companion tended to boss him around at first. But I guess hanging around Lavaridge sobered him up… they were around for a while; and the last that I remember of him was the day he and his companion came by the café, showing off the badge they had finally gotten from Flannery… and then they left,” she offered by way of a quick explanation. After furtively looking around, she found an empty table and then hefted her share of the shopping bags on it, before waving in Serenity’s direction, as if to call her over. “Let’s sit here… and I have an idea,” she added, quickly rummaging around and looking for a particular Pokeball.
In another flash of red light, her Cubchoo, Kuma, appeared, and since the immediate area was cold, she watched his… rather voluminous snot trail glimmer, before hearing the loud sniffling noise. “Choo? Cub, cubchoo?” she heard him ask inquiringly, before giving him a light pat on the head. “Stay here for us, okay? I have something to do,” replied, before giving him another pat and then heading over to where Momo was, eagerly pointing out at the different strawberry-themed cakes, and jumping up and down as well, trying to reach them (even if they were behind a sheet of glass). “Ralts. Ralts… ralts? Ralts!!!” she heard her say, looking in the direction of the doorway, before seeing that they were accompanied by a weasel-like Pokemon, and then looked up at the trainer… and could only stare, before traversing over to where Izumi tood and pulling on her jeans. “Ralts, ralts.”
“I know, Momo. Familiar face, different location… same thing…” she trailed off, before finally remembering his real name—as she’d called this guy by a rather embarrassing nickname back in Lavaridge. “Is that you, Thomas?” she began, still unable to believe her eyes.

Thomas was shocked that his Pokemon had that much of a sweet tooth. After the year they spent together, Thomas figured out where all those sweets that mysteriously disappeared went off too. He assumed that they slipped out of his backpack, or something like that. The trainer felt like he should've known, that he somehow let down his Buizel by not acknowledging this fact sooner.
"Weasel, please don't run off like that again, especially not in a place like this...", Thomas told his Buizel, who gave him an apologetic cry. "It's alright, and we'll get something here. Just point to whatever it is you'd like, and I'll get it for you, bud...", Thomas told the water weasel, who nodded happily.
The two then waited in line, his Buizel once again in line as usual. Thomas was in the mood to get himself something, and most importantly to catch his breath after a chase like that. Just then, he was approached by a familiar face, one that remembered his name. Thomas looked at the girl, recognizing her face as well. She was a girl who was involved with some cafe in Lavaridge Town, a family business. Thomas had gotten to somewhat know Izumi, especially during the times Markus was either in the middle of training for the Gym battle, or was actually going for the badge. They were at least able to exchange names during the time.
He also remembered how Markus came into the cafe in order to show off before they both left town.
"Yeah... that you, Izumi?", Thomas inquired. He was grateful that she didn't call him by that nickname someone had given him in town.
Well this was quite a sight for sure. After entering the store and listening to the history between the two Serenity was quite amazed. A crybaby? Yeah, he had the appearance of one who used to be a baby. It was quite interesting though, but as Gible would be beside Ralts who had already found what she wanted she tried to get Izumi's attention. It was so cute. Gible would still be in awe by the many options he could choose, but had yet to decide what he actually wanted. Bringing out all of her Pokemon this gave Serenity an idea to do the same as well. Reaching into her pocket's she would pull out several pokeball's releasing her Dragonair,Buizel, and Pachirisu. Buizel would just be chill standing beside Serenity as Dragonair and Pachirisu would go beside Gible and Ralts to pick out what dessert they wanted.
Serenity was quite focused on both Izumi and Thomas, was it? They were both almost like...well...lovers who hadn't seen each other for quite sometime. It reminded her of Bunji and Kooga, but they weren't at all long time friends like these two were. It was kinda cute, but Serenity would continue to watch as they became a little acquainted chuckling.

After spacing out for a few moments, she then shook her head, and then nodded. “Yeah, it’s me… it’s been a long time! Ever since you and your dad, I think—came by the café and began hanging out there, who could forget this face? You’ve grown—you’re much taller than I am,” she added with a hint of a grin in her voice, seeing as she had to look up at him now—back then they were pretty much the same height, and if he wasn’t that busy back then helping his dad with getting past Flannery, they would end up playing in the café’s back garden. “So this is where you’ve been off to… Unova. I came here following rumors that there were some special ‘mons swarming around this time of the year, so here I am,” she said by way of explanation—before remembering that Serenity was with her!
“Oh! Please excuse my manners. Thomas, meet Serenity; I ran into her by chance and we ended up here, looking for sweets,” she said, quickly bridging the silence and introducing her childhood friend to who was quickly becoming a very good friend to her—it seemed that the two girls had something in common, and that was an appetite for sweets. “Serenity, you were right on one thing—he’s familiar… but he outgrew me. This is Thomas,” she continued, closing the gap of introductions and then looking over the cake display. “So what brought you to Unova?” she inquired, looking at him. She’d seen him on occasion whenever she went to Lilycove to visit her father, who worked full-time in the huge Department Store over there and couldn’t get home due to all the sales that were going on there. “Last time I saw you, you were still this tall, and running around Lilycove…” she continued, gesturing her hand to a height somewhere near his waist—for he’d definitely had a growth spurt since then!
Momo was surprised to see that more fellow ‘mons had appeared—and from the looks of it, they all belonged to her mistress’ new friend. She then continued to flail and point upwards, unsure of what she really wanted—she rarely got to taste anything from her mistress’ café back home; but since they were all the way out here, who knew if she was going to get a treat? “Ralts, ralts. Ralts!” she said, nudging the little Gible and pointing to something that had strawberries topped on its creamy, feathery goodness, and then beaming—if one could assume that Pokeon could smile.
