Normally, mentioning Thomas' father in any context was a good way to piss Thomas off. However, the context of this situation was a blatant exception to that rule. Thomas started to break up into a brief fit of laughter. Even though Markus was much taller than Thomas back then, there was no way he could be his father. "Markus... Markus was ten as well, Izumi....", Thomas told her as he settled down.
"Sorry, Izumi... I didn't mean that as laughing at you.... just that I've never heard that one before...", he told her as he caught his breath.
Thomas looked over to the girl who stood by her. Thomas nodded at Serenity. "Um, nice to meet you...", he told her, a little nervous about the presence of a stranger. Granted, if she could be trusted by Izumi, then perhaps he could come to trust her. But then, his experiences have kind of taught him otherwise.
Weasel cried out and pointed Thomas to the treat he wanted to get. A pastry topped with blueberries. Thomas smiled at the Buizel, and nodded. "Alright, Weasel...", he told the Buizel as he put the Pokemon down. The Buizel calmly walked over to the Ralts, attempting to show it that he came in peace, and only wanted to communicate.
"Bui...", it started, somewhat timid at the thought of meeting a new Pokemon.
Meanwhile, Thomas waited patiently for it to be his turn to order, having noted the name of the treat, and the cost.
