"... No, no, no. Lileep and Cradily are most certainly not simply photosythesizers - a single look at my earliest papers could have told you this." Muttered the Professor, in his study, pen angrily scratching at papers on his desk. The look on his face was most certainly annoyed, if not down-right bored.
He was the head of his field, and no one questioned it - he owned almost every fossil species, and had made reports of such quality and findings of such value that he was seen as authority. So it was often that others within his field, often younger and less experienced, sent "findings" and "possible theories" to him for confirmation, further study, and so on. It always seemed to be the case, however, that they didn't bother to check on previous research beforehand - most often than not, he either already discovered what they sent to him or it was utterly false. He almost hoped for the day that they would send him a report with truly valuable information. And, honestly, it would make his day much easier if they just read his papers before sending him things.
With a mark of a pen, he made the final touches to the report response - utterly unbased.
He really needed an assistant in his life. With a tired sigh, he pushed up his glasses and looked down at his desk - he'd need to go get some more Lum Juice. As he was about to get up, however, a Pokemon suddenly appeared: Osiris, the Alakazam, teleported into the room, telekinetically holding the very glass that Arthur would have desired. A smile lit the face of the Fossil Professor - it was a given fact that all his Pokemon roamed the grounds of the Symphonia Labs freely and as they wished - visitors often made comments about the fossils that sometimes tended to the outside gardens, or the flying Pokemon above. The agreement between Professor and Pokemon was simple - they stayed within the grounds and kept it in shape, and they got to do whatever they wanted on grounds, under the shadow of silent and gentle Mt. Moon.
And so he smiled softly and took the glass of juice, placing it on his desk carefully. "Thank you, Osiris - how goes the reading?" Inquired the Professor, making conversation.
Well, Brutus just stabbed Caesar. Replied the Pokemon, telepathically, before nodding and teleporting off.
Yep. Today was a slow day - whether that was a good thing or not, that remained to be seen.

Kanto, huh? Josh had never been to Kanto in his life, much less Mt Moon, or much less a LAB near... Or in... Or on... He didn't know, Mt Moon. If he recalled, his friend Red was from here. Red had talked all about Kanto during their temporary period of traveling together, just as Josh had introduced him to Hoenn. It had been an interesting partnership, though Josh hadn't seen Red since their temporary parting. He wondered where the kid had gotten himself off to.
Regardless, for now he was here in Kanto because he had promised Professor Symphonia that he would visit the lab in future when he got a chance. As he walked into the grounds, he looked at the fossil pokemon that the man had amassed. Damn, he was right, he DID have pretty much every fossil Pokemon there was.
Speaking of fossil Pokemon, Josh was here for more then just a lecture... A handful of reasons, actually.
For one, he figured Arthur would appreciate a little reunion. On Josh's shoulder clung a Pikachu, Lightning. The same Pichu that had been Josh's partner when he met Arthur. Standing next to him and overseeing the grounds was Inferno, who at that time had been Josh's Cyndaquil. Now, of course, Inferno was a mighty Typhlosion... And mighty indeed, he was bigger, and definitely more muscular then most Typhlosion. Izumi had noted it and said it was likely hereditary. He shared this trait with his siblings.
And you couldn't forget the wild card. The entire reason they had met was because Ace had been trying to get the frisbee during training and the Pidgeotto had crashed into the Professor during a training session. Now, of course, flying overhead was Ace, now a proud Pidgeot.
But a reunion wasn't the only thing on the cards. Josh had told Arthur a story about a Tyrunt he had seen in the Safari Zone... Well, he had a surprise for him now.
"Professor?" Josh called out as he came near the lab. "It's Josh, I promised I'd visit!" he called out. "Pika pika!" Lightning chirped, echoing his trainer.
As the newcomers walked onto the grounds of Symphonia Labs, the Professor didn't really hear nor see them - he was far too engrossed in his work to even pay attention. This was often the case - luckily, the other Pokemon were used to his lack of attention, and so they brought themselves to action. As Josh had approached, near the door were floating Norton, the Porygon-Z, and Magnetrix, the Magnezone, seemingly having a conversation. Both Pokemon, after seeing the incoming strangers, floated off inside the lab's manor. Other Pokemon were visible too - Aurorus was eating some leaves from a nearby tree, a Tyrunt trying to nip at its legs playfully, the Kecleon was changing colors to match the berries in the Berry Garden. Jupiter, Arthur's Dragonite, flew down closer to inspect them, waving hello to the other Flying-Pokemon. Hearing Josh's call, Jupiter flew down to the manor and called down Osiris.
Osiris quickly teleported down to the front gate, listening to Jupiter explain the situation. In a second, the Psi Pokemon was back up with Arthur.
"Professor, if I may..." Osiris began.
The Fossil Professor looked up from the pile of papers he was angrily taking a red pen to, adjusting his glasses. "What is it, Osiris?"
"Visitors are coming." the Pokemon informed in a very manner-of-fact way. The Professor looked outside, lifting the blind on the window, seeing the incoming person. He looked familiar, but it was too far from up here to tell.
"Very well, Osiris - go and welcome them inside, I'll be down in a few minutes."
The Psi Pokemon nodded as it teleported out of the room, only to re-appear at the door. Calmly, it walked towards Josh, its face stoic as any other Alakazam's. It communicated telepathically with Josh and his Pokemon, speaking directly into their minds so Josh could hear it as human language. "Greetings, Visitor, and welcome to Symphonia Labs. My name is Osiris, and I am the Professor's Alakazam. Wherefore do you visit?" Inquired the Alakazam. The other Pokemon in the area appeared somewhat curious, but otherwise maintained to their business. It was not uncommon for visitors to show up at Arthur's, sometimes demanding a PokeDex, sometimes simply looking for a place to sleep.

Josh would look around the grounds at the Pokemon that frequented it. The Professor really seemed to pride himself on collecting a variety of different types of Pokemon, he thought to himself. He saw a Porygon-Z, a Magnetrix, a Kecleon, a Dragonite.... The latter of which reminded Josh that his own Dragonite was a tad oddly colored. An Aurorus, a Tyrunt and others. But once they got to the entrance, that was when things got interesting.
An Alakazam would appear before them and begin to speak telepathically. Josh's eyes widened at the sudden speech, but he remembered at that moment the intelligence of Alakazam, and it's abilities. Welp, as tired as he was from the trip, he wasn't here for a place to sleep. Nor was he here to demand a PokeDex, as much as one might fit him considering all the time he spent in the field. He took a breath, relaxing after that realization of it's abilities, nodding to his welcome. "Thank you for the humble welcome, Osiris" He greeted calmly. "We're from Hoenn, if you're asking where from. I met the Professor during his last visit, and had promised him I would come visit him here at the lab for another lesson at some point. I also... Brought a few Pokemon he might like to see" He explained, pulling out a few Pokeballs. The three Pokemon already out of their balls would remain silent for the time being, allowing their Trainer to speak as they looked around this strange area.
The Pokemon that payed attention quickly went in their merry way, quickly adjusting to the visitor. The Pokemon were sometimes on alert - there had been times when bad people had tried to break into or attack the lab, but the moment Osiris showed up, they were fine. He was like an form of uncle to the rest of the Pokemon - not like Nautilus, the Omastar, who was more like a father, but an uncle, comforting, wise. Plus, they had seen his psychic power - not that the Pokemon like Magnetrix or Norton couldn't deal with an attacker, but Osiris was simply better trained. Jupiter's presence also helped.
The Psi Pokemon nodded, slightly peering into Josh's mind as he spoke - nothing major, nothing noticeable, just making sure the Trainer before him wasn't lying and trying to get inside to steal or something. It had happened before. Stepping sideways to allow the Trainer to go inside the main room, Osiris replied "I see - the Professor would love a friendly visit, or so I think. Personally, I hypothesize he spends too much time working on his papers, but do not tell him I said that." Incredibly, Osiris chuckled. "Please, come inside and make yourself comfortable - the Professor will be right down."
Osiris welcomed Josh into the entrance hall. It was easy to tell that his entrance hall also doubled as a library of sorts, with giant shelves lining the walls - rows upon rows of books, some old, some new, leatherbound and not, lined the shelves in patterns that seemed to relate more to theme and topic than source or age. There were chairs, old but comfortable, and a table in the entrance room, as well as stairs that led up to the upper floors. The room would have been very dark if it were not for the giant skylight on the ceiling, letting soft sunlight flow in. Atop a bookshelf, Morgana the Spiritomb and Pierce the Sableye looked upon the entering visitors with curious eyes, Morgana more mischievous and Pierce more serious. With a sharp look, however, Osiris made the Ghosts behave.
It only took a minute or two for Arthur to show up atop the stairs - he had put away most of his papers already. He smiled softly, adjusting his glasses as he quickly remembered and recognized the man in his entrance hall. "Mr. Dragomir, what a pleasant surprise - welcome to Symphonia Labs." He announced, as he came down the stairs.

Josh noted that the Alakazam appeared to be staring at him for a moment as he spoke. Almost as if he were gauging him... But he was sincere, there was nothing to fear, even if he felt a bit uncomfortable by the way that he looked at him. Regardless, the Pokemon seemed satisfied as it would stand aside and allow him access before speaking. Once welcomed into the entrance hall, Josh would nod and head in, with Lightning, Inferno and Ace behind him. Ace would perch on Josh's shoulder, and Lightning would climb onto the other as the Typhlosion would walk beside him as they would head in.
Josh couldn't help but admire the decor of the lab. It was very different compared to Denise's, which he was more used to. The hot mess known as Denise's lab was quite the shift compared to the much neater lab of Arthur, for sure. It felt classy, classic... Vintage, yet professional. Josh took a breath as the sun hit his face from the skylight. He would notice two Pokemon from the corner of his eye... But did not comment.
Soon enough, down came Professor Symphonia from his fabulous magical perch of stairs. The man would greet him and Josh would smile in return as he waited for him to come down the stairs. Josh would extend his hand to shake. "A pleasure to see you again, Professor Symphonia" He would greet politely. "I apologize it's taken me so long to come drop by for the lessons and the like, as I promised. Things got quite busy in the last couple of months. I've been catching and training Pokemon, and bettering myself in the process. There was a point where I actually isolated myself in a cave on a mountain in Hoenn with nothing but survival provisions and my Pokemon, dedicating ourselves to training without distraction, for two weeks" He explained.
"But I'm here now. I finally perfected Ace's flight training, so he was able to assist me in getting to Kanto" He said, patting the bird on his shoulder on the head. "Speaking of, I remember that I had a certain three Pokemon with me when we met. I figured you'd be curious on how they'd been since, so I figured I'd bring them" He added with a small smile. "Of course, you remember Ace, who was a Pidgeotto at the time he accidentally interrupted your training session" He explained, motioning to the Pidgeot on his shoulder. "Not to mention the Pichu and Cyndaquil that followed me when we gave chase" He added, before motioning first to the Typhlosion standing beside him. "This is Inferno, the Cyndaquil from before. Inferno, say hi to Professor Symphonia, will you?" He asked the Typhlosion. "GRAAA!" Inferno greeted with a somewhat friendly roar. He was trying to sound friendly anyway, but most Typhlosion roars usually sounded pretty menacing. Especially given the oddly increased height and muscularity of this particular Typhlosion, only adding to the menacing appearance. Of course, Izumi had explained to Josh before that this might be due to genetics. It seemed to run in the family, looking at Inferno's big brother.
"And finally, my Pichu from before is still hanging around on my shoulder" He said with a laugh as he would motion to the Pikachu hanging onto the other shoulder. "Pikachu!" Lightning greeted friendily with a wave. "They've been healthy, which makes me happy. They've become some of my top team members over the last couple of months" he added.
"But, before we get to the things you wanted to talk about in terms of fossil Pokemon that you mentioned wanting to discuss and share should I come visit... I actually wanted to show you something" he revealed. He would take out three Pokeballs before letting them all out.
"Anorith!" Let out the first one that popped out, an Anorith. "I caught this one not too long ago, her name is Armanus" He introduced. "I know you're big on fossil Pokemon, I figured I'd show you a few I've caught since last time" he said as he would let out the next one.
"Amaura!" Let out the next one, an Amaura. "This one's named Sammy" Josh claimed, patting Sammy on the head. "He hatched from an egg just a few weeks ago. Chipper little guy" He said. "Oh and uh... Remember when we last talked, I mentioned an oddly colored Tyrunt that I met in the Safari Zone, that got away from me?" He asked as he let out the last one.
"Tyrunt!" Yoshi would let out as the oddly colored Tyrunt would pop out, just as Josh had said. Yoshi was green, with a few red spikes along it. It's belly was white as well. "I happened to stop by the Safari Zone again and recognized him instantly when I found him. By how eager he was to join up when he did, I'm guessing his mother wasn't exactly around anymore" He admitted, scratching his head. "I never did see a Tyrantrum with him. I probably just scared him off by accident when I first saw him before" He said, sighing. "Still, since the 2nd meeting, he's been a little bundle of energy. A tough one too, probably good I didn't battle him the first time" He admitted with a small smile. "Very tough, he gave me a very hard fight when we did finally battle"
"Tyrunt!" Yoshi let out, staring up at Arthur curiously. He smelled like... Like Pokemon familiar to him! But why? The Tyrunt was curious.
"I actually have a few more fossil Pokemon, but I couldn't bring them due to the travel regulations" He revealed. "If you desire though, I can use a PC to bring them here if you'd like to see" He added. "Up to you, of course"
As the Professor arrived, the Alakazam decided to teleport away - he had a play to finish, and more importantly, chores to take care of. His job was to keep the library well-organized and spotless, and his own tendency to read half the books he organized was his own downfall. The actual laboratory was filled to the brim with half-read and forgotten books Osiris had been interested in reading, but quickly got distracted from. It was his bad habit, rally. More often than not, he was busy, not because there were a lot of books (there were), but because he disorganized them. Caesar deserved to be finished before being put away - that speech was good.
The Professor smiled as he listened to Josh come in and explain his adventures. There was a certain sense of jealousy, friendly, sure, but jealousy nonetheless, as he listened - he'd been stuck in a Laboratory for a few weeks for now, not really being able to do anything for that matter. Only reports and counter-reports. It was ridiculous, really - his Pokemon only trained slightly, and they maintained their battling skill only by their sheer ability and age. He was a bit impressed about the whole "stay in a cave and train like that" fashion - it reminded him of that old Elite Four, Lance. Arthur had done something similar, albeit it was more about research than training. Not that he didn't get training done - Geodude family Pokemon and Zubat family Pokemon accosted him every other day during that month...
With all the hubbub and ruckus of all these Pokemon in the manor's entrance hall (it was normally a quiet place), Nautilus, Arthur's Omastar, and Mandragora, the Cradily, moved in from one of the side hallways, falling in behind Arthur's flanks without him really saying anything. As the Trainer presented his first three Pokemon, Arthur simply nodded and gestured in greeting. "It is a pleasure to see you all again, and to have you at my Laboratory. You remember Mandragora, my Cradily, and this is Nautilus, my Omastar." Introduced the Professor. The two Pokemon simply nodded and bowed in greeting, waving with their respective tentacle-like limbs.
But the moment the Fossil Pokemon came out, Arthur's interest peaked. What incredibly well-kept species! What delightful Pokemon! Just look at how cute they were! Arthur's Pokemon simply waved and nodded in greeting, but Arthur himself was enthralled to meet them. With a speed that was truly unexpected, he approached, and his eyes carefully examined each Pokemon with care and talent. "Such well-trained and wonderful Fossil Pokemon... Truly, a delightful sight to show me, Mr. Dragomir. And your Tyrunt's coloring... so fascinating..." The Professor approached the Fossils, both amiably and interested, careful not to scare them, but completely focused on their existence. Both Mandragora and Nautilus recognized the situation, and both rolled their eyes in annoyance - Arthur had dipped into his Fossil Mode.
Quickly, without stop, the Professor began blathering facts and tidbits about the Fossil species that stood before him, like Anorith's curious lacking of a Water-Type, even thought it was a sea-dweller, or Amaura's interesting lack of predators in its genetic community, making it a unique specimen when it came to Pokemon sociological features, and how it was not rare for Tyrantrum mothers to leave their children behind after a few months, especially if they believed that the child was ready for the wild. Mind you, these are only parts of his continuous splurges of information - he kept going and going.
When Josh mentioned a PC, Arthur simply pointed to a PC in the back of the entrance hall - it was well-kept, but obviously not normally used, as Arthur kept all his Pokemon in his laboratory. The Professor was too distracted, too enthralled with the Pokemon before him. Such incredible discovery, such delightful work...

While the Professor seemed cordial and quiet as Josh recounted his tales and introduced his Pokemon, he suddenly went into "Professor Mode" the moment Josh had introduced his Fossil Pokemon. Josh admitted to himself that he should have seen this coming, considering his specialties as a Pokemon Fossil Professor. He couldn't help but smirk as bit as the Professor obsessed over the Fossil Pokemon. Meanwhile, Josh would turn to the three currently with him that weren't fossils. "Why don't you guys go out into the grounds and meet the other Pokemon while I talk with Professor Symphonia?" He offered to them. It wasn't fair to them to just have them sit there with him while he conducted business, without something to do, when there were tons of other Pokemon outside. They would nod and head out, and Josh would look back at Arthur, who was still in professor mode.
"I'd be careful of Yoshi" He said, motioning toward the Tyrunt who was watching Arthur curiously. "He's a little mischievous, and a bit childish and curious. He might nip your fingers if you're not careful" He warned. The Tyrunt was tilting his head as he watched Arthur with tilted head. Amaura's head was also tilted, seemed curious, and Anorith was peeking around the room. Josh smiled faintly and listened to Arthur's facts and tidbits about each species. He seemed eager to learn, and hung onto every word. Anorith was a sea dweller, but not a Water type... True facts he knew, but he admitted that it was a curious affair indeed. How Amaura was extinct prior is a mystery if it had a lack of predators in it's genetic community. They should have bred like Bunnelby. Tyrantrum mothers leaving their kids... That would explain a lot about how and where he had met Yoshi, for sure. And told a bit about his mindset and behaviors.
The Tyrunt would look over to notice his friends, the Pikachu, Typhlosion and Pidgeot heading outside though. Curiosity would overtake him and he would take off the moment Josh had turned to head to the PC to get the other fossil Pokemon he owned. Josh noticed it though and looked back. "Hey, wait! Yoshi!" Josh said as he took off after the Tyrunt. "Tyrunt! Ty!" Yoshi let out as he would find himself in an area full of Pokemon that smelled... Familiar, somehow! "Ty!" He let out and started jumping for joy. Josh would stop and tilt his head... Just what was going on with the Tyrunt?
Suddenly, Yoshi would begin glowing, and erupt into a bright light. "Guh!" Josh let out as he would shield his eye for a moment from the sudden flash of light, but would try and see what this was as he looked over... He watched as the Tyrunt would transform right in front of his very eyes! He grew... And grew... And grew! Finally, the light faded, and Josh saw the result... Yoshi had evolved into Tyrantrum!
The Tyrantrum, now at a good 8 or so feet tall, let out a loud roar as he examined his surroundings. ".... Well, shit. I didn't think I'd trained him enough" he admitted, scratching his head. Still, he was fascinated and enamored by the new form of Yoshi..
The Professor paid no mind to Josh’s warning – in fact, he paid no mind to most anything. Partially, because he knew the dangers of the species – he had studied every single one, up close and personal. His own Aerodactyl had once tried to bite his head off: if the Professor could survive that, getting some fingers repaired because of a curious Tyrunt wouldn’t be that difficult. Certainly, his own toes had some doses of Heal Pulse done to them because of Notus, his own Tyrunt. The Royal Heir Pokemon had a bad habit of testing everything with its teeth, something the Professor was trying to correct. Bu on the most part, Arthur was too enthralled, muttering facts over facts on the species before him. Nautilus and Mandragora simply shook their heads and told the Pokemon that he wouldn’t hurt them, that he was just like that from time to time.
At this point, the Professor’s other Pokemon were now beyond curious – these Pokemon were being released out into the lab grounds, and not one of them were Pokemon they knew. This was something that never really ever happened, at least not on the grounds as a whole. Igneous, the Magcargo, slid around the corner of the manor, looking at the Fire-Type with somewhat-apathetic eyes. Magnetrix, the Magnezone, floated out again, analyzing the three Pokemon, each with one eye. Even Falchion, the Skarmory that normally never landed, came down to investigate the hubbub and the other Flying-Type in its territory. Most of the Pokemon just watched from afar – curious, and certainly not hostile, but not really engaging. They took after the Professor, after all.
Arthur had even somewhat ignored the Tyrunt leaving, or Josh attempting to go for the PC. He studied the different patterns on the Amaura’s sail, or the claws of the Anorith, and every so often a squeal-like sound would escape his lips as he just couldn’t stand how CUTE they were. Look at the Anorith’s eyes, look at the Amaura, it was so adorable! He was so happy he got to raise the Aurorus he had now, Boreas. She was a thing of beauty, but as an Amaura, she had been almost as cute as Nautilus or Mandragora. I mean, look at i-
”ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!”
And in that moment, the Professor’s Fossil Mode was broken.
As the visitor’s Tyrunt evolved, the Pokemon in the Laboratory all went from curious to worried, and some even got on their guard. Osiris quickly teleported to the courtyard, ready to defend the manor if necessary – Morgana, the Spiritomb was at his flank. Boreas, the Aurorus, showed her head again, but now seemingly guarded, as if it was judging whether she should attack this random new threat or not – Notus, the Tyrunt at her side, growled and snapped at the big one who invaded this territory. Even Jupiter, the Dragonite, flew down to attempt to reinforce the ruckus. Arthur quickly got to his feet and excused himself from the other Fossil Pokemon, as he ran outside to investigate, Mandragora and Nautilus at his heels. Arriving, he began assessing the situation. A part of him raved with excitement of discovery and interest – this was something he had never really seen before. But he was more worried about the safety of his Pokemon, his lab, and himself, for the moment. If conflict arose now… Well, it would only be by his Pokemon’s quick response that he could do something about it. His voice turned tired, almost annoyed, as he adjusted his glasses, all of his present Pokemon watching the situation as he.
”…Mr. Dragomir, please tell me that this new evolved Pokemon will not be an issue.” The Professor stated, calmly. He had seen many a Pokemon begin to disobey their owner after evolution. ”otherwise, I’d ask to return him to his Poke Ball, lest an issue arise.”

Josh looked around and watched as Arthur's Pokemon would crowd around, many of them in alarm... Preparing to attack. Josh would stand in front of Yoshi, his brow furrowed as if he were ready to protect his Tyrantrum should they see him as an enemy and attack. Of course, he wasn't sure if Yoshi would attack as well... He had suddenly evolved! What if his personality changed? Of course, all these would be answered as Yoshi would let out a roar, obviously a bit upset by the tension. Seeing his Trainer though seemed to give him comfort, and he would lean down... And lick Josh's face!
"Haha-Yoshi stop!-Yoshi! That tickles-Stop-Hahaha!" Josh let out, squirming as the Tyrantrum showed affection toward his Trainer. The Tyrantrum didn't seem to want to cause trouble, it seemed he had only wanted to play with the other Pokemon, and had ended up evolving. Obviously the hostility had upset it for a moment, but Josh being there in his defense seemed to have calmed him down.
Lightning, Ace and Inferno would walk over, staring up in amazement of their friend's evolution. They would wave up in joy, and Yoshi would look at them and happily roar in response. To Arthur's stern question, Josh would wipe the dino gunk off of himself with his sleeve and shake his head. "He'll be just fine, Professor" He promised with a smirk. "He just wanted to play with the other Pokemon, by the looks of it" He said, looking over at the Anorith and Amaura that had walked out and were amazed to see their new friend having evolved. It was interesting to see the odd color scheme on a full on Tyrantrum too...
"You guys get acquainted, I'm going to grab my other Pokemon" He said as he headed back to the PC that Arthur had mentioned. He would return later with a few more Pokeballs.
"Alright, here's some of my others" He said with a grin. "Come on out, guys!" He said as he would bring out a few more fossils.
"Archen!" Petri let out as he looked around. "Tir!" Franklin, his Tirtouga called toward the Archen. "AERRROOOO!" A younger looking Aerodactyl would call out as he looked around the place.
While Josh seemed quite calm and collected about the situation, Arthur was, while a bit annoying to admit, not. Just because the Trainer had been very calm about his Pokemon suddenly evolving, neither Professor nor other Pokemon necessarily calmed down. The Alakazam put his spoons down, and everyone backed off a little, but they kept their eyes on the situation - watching. That was a scare that they did not need - it'd had not been the first time that the laboratory was threatened, and they learned from that experience before. The tension eased only slightly as more of Arthur's Pokemon began poking their heads out, questioning the source of the roar. Most of the younger Pokemon went back to their own business, but the older ones stayed - they didn't outright demonstrate hostility, but the Professor just didn't feel comfortable with the situation just yet.
"How shall we proceed, Professor?" Questioned Osiris telepathically to the Professor.
"Without issue, Osiris - we shall keep an eye on the situation, but unless phenomenon arise, we shall only do what we do best: watch and learn." he explained.
Some would accuse him of overreacting, hell, some would accuse him of being cold to the situation. But while he did not like thinking so suspiciously of people, it was a learned behavior - he did this, not out of instinct, but out of security. He wouldn't allow anyone to hurt his Pokemon, even by a tragic mistake. If that included being overly cautious when it came to a giant Pokemon like Tyrantrum, then he would do so, gladly. There were too many Ghosts in Symphonia Labs to be having more lack of life.
Even the flashing of new Poke Balls and more Pokemon didn't faze him that much - he didn't go into Fossil Mode, he watched the new Pokemon with curiosity, but not that unbridled excitement he had not too long ago. The Fossil Professor's eyes studied the others up and down, while some of his Pokemon waved hello, somewhat nervously. They were more focused on the bigger fish behind them. Zephyr, the Professor's Aerodactyl ,would cry out similarly in response to the first Aerodactyl.
"...Hmmm... Fine specimen, Mr. Dragomir, very well-trained, just like the first three. That Aerodactyl is somewhat young, no?" Arthur mused.

Josh wasn't ignorant to Arthur's change in behaviour. Even when he had brought out his Pokemon, even more fossil Pokemon, might I add, Arthur didn't have the same gusto, that same wild joy in studying them like he had before. It disturbed him a bit. Was his Tyrantrum really that intimidating, that he'd tensed Arthur so much to go to this point? He didn't know there had been issues here before, of course, so he was completely confused as to why things were still tense despite Yoshi making it obvious he was harmless.
He would nod then, to Arthur's question. "Aye, he and Sammy are my youngest fossil Pokemon, with Yoshi by the looks of it being the third youngest... Of course, that's a guess, judging by his behaviour as he still seems to be a child, even if he's... Rather big now" He said, looking up at Yoshi before looking at Aero. Aero would cry out toward the other Aerodactyl, obviously thrilled to find another of it's kind here. "I've had Aero here since he was a baby. When he was really small, he used to travel with me and he'd ride on my head" He explained, chuckling a bit at the memory of that. "He loved it. I think he misses riding on my head though. He tried once, and he made us both crash to the ground!" He said, laughing in response.
How tense the other Pokemon were towards him, how hostile they were... Yoshi seemed to realize it. His excitement faded, his tail, which was previously wagging like mad, would tuck between his legs. He would let out an obviously upset whimper and duck down, trying to hide his large frame behind his Trainer while trying to nuzzle against his shoulder for comfort. He just wanted to make friends! What happened?
Josh sighed as he looked back and wrapped his arms around the Tyrantrum's head, best he could. Despite his size, Yoshi was still really young, and a bit of a big baby. "Hey... It's not your fault..." He comforted quietly. "Don't cry... They just need to get used to you... I know you got excited and just wanted to make friends... You can't control when you evolve..." He whispered. "Come on, don't be upset... It's gonna be okay..." He promised, stroking the Tyrantrum's head as it tried to bury it's face in his shoulder without crushing his Trainer.
It wasn't so much about him not trusting Mr. Dragomir - on the contrary, Mr. Dragomir had demonstrated himself to be a strong Pokemon Trainer and person not only by coming here and showing his Pokemon to the Professor, but by the way he behaved around his Pokemon. A bit aloof, certainly less serious than what he would expect of someone of his age, but still, he was a strong Trainer, that much could be said. Arthur, out of practice and washed out as he was, doubted he could take him in a serious fight. So no, it wasn't so much that he didn't trust Mr. Dragomir's ability.
He just didn't trust happenstance. Circumstance. Chance. And the unknown that was this Pokemon. Even if it presented itself as friendly, he wasn't going to give any chances to his luck to take the reins.
But he wasn't about to make this Pokemon suffer because of his past distrusts. Noticing the whimpering from the giant Pokemon (which did little to placate his demeanor, but he did soften somewhat), the Fossil Professor waved a hand. "Everyone, would you please back off?" He called out to his Pokemon. Many of the Pokemon had already been losing their guarded emotions and went away, but others, like more stubborn Osiris, reluctantly teleported back inside, taking Morgana with him. In fact, all Pokemon began filing out to their own business again, only to leave Mandragora and Nautilus at Arthur's flanks. The Professor's glasses clicked as he adjusted them again, the idiosyncratic motion more out of habit than out of need.
"On behalf of my Pokemon and myself, I apologize for their... No, for our behavior. I also apologize to you, Yoshi, for being harsh." He said, in a calm and collected tone. It wasn't so much that it wasn't heartfelt, but he was trying to appear calm and kind. The Pokemon at his side bowed in respect and apology, but they shared the emotion with Arthur. Arthur was a man of habit, set in his ways, often. And this was a habit, albeit more a behavior, that he wasn't going to let go any time soon.

Josh didn't blame Arthur for being careful. He didn't blame the Pokemon, either. He knew that they had a lab, and a group of Pokemon to protect. His Pokemon would likely behave similarly, at least until they understood the situation. Josh did not fault any of them for acting as they had, even if they had spooked his Tyrantrum.
Finally, Arthur would have his Pokemon back down. He was unsure if they were already planning to, but that was the case here and now. The Tyrunt would begin to calm down as it saw the hostility go down, but still seemed to be disappointed that the Pokemon were going away. Josh noticed this, and seemed to put two and two together.
To Arthur's apology, Josh would shake his head. "No, I should apologize. I didn't know Yoshi was going to evolve and spook you and your Pokemon" He would respond politely. When Arthur apologized to Yoshi, the Tyrantrum would nod and let out a friendly roar, seeming to forgive. "I don't think Yoshi knew he was going to evolve either" Josh said, running his hand along the Tyrantrum's head. "As a Tyrunt, he was very much like a curious child. A very playful one too, he used to always run around and play with the younger Pokemon, especially my fossil Pokemon. He... Doesn't really strike as a predator type, but I've had people comment before that some of my Pokemon don't seem to behave the same as expected, such as my Houndoom who is a rather friendly critter" He would explain. "He loves meeting new friends, and goes right to any new Pokemon that I bring home to the ranch. Seems like he sensed the ones out here and probably got curious and wanted to play. Of course... And then he evolved, and then everyone got hostile, and it was probably a shock to him" He admitted, with a sigh. "He wouldn't hurt a fly out of battle though. I promise"
”…Spooked seems like a bit of an understatement, wouldn’t you say?” He commented offhandedly, chuckling a little.
The Pokemon was friendly, yes, and now the question and worry was not so much if it would act violently, but if it would accidentally cause an issue. This, however, was a much lighter thought – not the giant cause of guardedness, of insecurity, that the first thought had given him. Just make sure he didn’t step on the Berry Garden, make sure that the windows weren’t accidentally scratched. Housework. It was common in a laboratory such as his, where Pokemon walked around so much. Was he completely unworried? Of course not – the Fossil Professor very rarely actually settled down, unless he knew that there would be no problem. But at least he could fake calm. He smiled again, adjusting his glasses into normalcy. And even if he wasn’t completely calm, he was much calmer than he was five minutes ago.
Maybe one day, he could be calmer. Perhaps one day, he could settle down much easier. But his scientist self didn’t really like that – he liked control, he like security. Life wasn’t that way – it was obviously wild, chanceful, random. But even knowing this, nothing stopped him from trying to control as much as he could. Was that bad? No, not really, he thought. He nodded to Josh’s statements.
”I believe you, Mr. Dragomir. I don’t doubt that your Tyrantrum is quite the friendly one.” Arthur statement, his Pokemon nodding in agreement. ”Pokemon are more grown by their environments than by their natures. I’m sure that being around such a social and well-mannered Trainer has curbed that natural Predator’s streak that the species can be imagined for. In fact, I do have an acquaintance who has a very friendly Gyarados. Funny, that very same Gyarados is a mighty battler, but still, outside of battle, it’s quite the polite Pokemon.”
Not that he didn’t keep an eye on the Pokemon. But still.
