With her attempt to capture Agatha and bring her to the authorities ending with the red head feeling awestruck at the level of power and experience radiated by this powerful trainer, Yumi had decided to try and leave with something else to leave her mark on the world in some way. She had known that Agatha had tried to summon a few legendaries in the past, specifically one the rocket files only referred to as "the storm caller", odds were it had another name on file, but she didn't have access to any of those files specifically.
In her hands she held the small white device that was supposedly able to summon this mighty beast to her, and it didn't even need a special power source like...well Agatha mentioned badges, but Yumi had to wonder how they could power anything. Regardless, she had no clue how to get it to work, everytime she got one light on another went off, and with the threat of an explosion earlier that day as the machine slowly overheated in her hands, she decided to turn it off entirely and wait till she got it in more professional hands, which brought her to the mountains of Shui, riding atop Desmata, her tyrantrum.
Arriving at the mighty gates, cameras turning to point at her, Yumi felt like she was on show, despite wearing one of her less revealing ensembles. All she could do was look into one of the cameras and try and hope that they also recieved sound.
"Hey! I was er...told a proffessor works here? I kinda need him to look at something."

On the other hand, Damian himself was in the middle of examining the second hover board that his peers in Arkose had given him; and was debating on whether or not to disassemble the darned thing in order to get a better look when he thought he heard something go off. He then looked around curiously, until he caught sight of the intercom system that had been recently set up showing that there was a visitor outside. Hmm, that’s strange, the only visitors that come by here are fellow League Professors… so who’s this supposed to be? He mused to himself as he then heard a female voice crackling over the speaker. “Alright, alright, I’m coming!” he began, dragging himself out of the work space and then slightly limping towards where the other hover board was stored, leaning against the wall.
Ugh, crap, can’t walk too fast yet. Have to hobble around in this case… unless… he continued to muse to himself as he then got an idea. Not too much time had passed, and the female redhead didn’t have to wait too long, because the steel doors that had been built into the side of the mountain then opened with a silent swishing noise, and out came Damian, balancing above his own personal hover board, before coming to a stop a few inches before the gate. “Yes, how can I help you?” he began, looking at the rather large Pokémon that his visitor was currently hitching a ride on. He was already debating on whether or not to open the gate when he felt his pocket vibrating; and as he scooped up the flip phone he always carried on him and read the message that awaited him, he then understood just who his visitor was.
“The League sent you over, right?” he called up to the redheaded female, to confirm that she was indeed, the individual that had been referred to him due to something that they would be discussing in due course before pushing a button on the opposite side of the gate, and watching as it whirred silently open in order to allow her inside.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi tilted her head as the door to the presumed lab opened up beyond the fence, curious as to what this professor would look like. She was expecting someone old, maybe in their 30s at the youngest, but the grey haired man that came out actually seemed younger than her in some ways. She had a hard time giving him an age in her head, and quickly grew curious if it was just a lucky draw with his complexion or if he really was one of those young prodigies. Even more intriguing to her was the hoverboard he used. Hover tech was no stranger to her, it originated in Orre she thought, but even then, ir was extremely rare for her to see it. She didn't even know Josh' Mom had made a hover tech bike all her own.
It was only when the league was brought up that Yumi was brought back to reality, her fingers running along the scales atop her dinos head, looking back as she tried to actually recalled the league. She had asked them about the device themselves at some point, and they were the ones to point her here...did they really have to call ahead? "Er. Yeah. That's me." Without need for a command Desmata lowered his head, giving Yumi a path to walk down the bridge of his snout, hopping down a small step to the ground and standing before the prefoessor, odd white device in hand.
"I needed someone to look at this...it has something to do with a very powerful flying type, and I've been told that's your area."
Post by Damian Moreau on Apr 19, 2015 6:56:38 GMT -5
At the mere mention of ‘flying-types’, Damian’s ears twitched and perked up; and there was this gleam that sparked in his eyes as he had to struggle for all of an infinitesimal moment to keep his excitement under wraps! He then cracked a grin, before slowly maneuvering the hover board nearer to where the female redhead was now descending, before finally coming to a stop—and it was at this point he caught sight of something rather cubical-sized in her hands.
“So this,” he began, finally hopping off the hover board and hobbling over as best as he could manage (without making it too obvious that he was still recovering from the effects of the Aerodactyl mauling he’d encountered some weeks prior) before coming to a full stop a few feet away from the female and affixing his gaze to the contraption—“…is the thing you’ve got for me to look at?” he inquired, looking hopefully at the object in her hands before returning back to the hover board and hopping back on it.
“Come in, the lab’s further down the passageway over there,” he continued, pointing at the doors he’d appeared from. “Feel free to leave your companion out, there’s a field not too far from here where he can graze with my avians,” he added; very much curious as to the object in her possession. “I’ll save the questions for when we’re in the lab,” he added, before making his way back to the entrance, and then holding it open in order for her to be able to slip past him. “Sorry if it’s a bit damp; this was the only place in Shui I could find that could host a lab without sticking out too much like a sore thumb… what with the city’s ‘lost by time’ motif and everything,” he said by way of explanation as he began to lead the way down an illuminated corridor.
Even if they were inside the mountain, the air wasn’t as dank, or as moldy as one would normally expect it to be. “Air purification systems at work. Silent yet very helpful. I hope you’re not feeling too light-headed,” he continued as he then came to a stop outside another set of sliding doors, before he leaned in and then practically squinted at what appeared to be a small keyhole. In all reality it was a retinal scan; and once he’d also pressed his finger to the shimmering pad that was located beneath it, the doors slid open once more; revealing the lab proper itself. “Silly me, I forgot to introduce myself,” he began over his shoulder as he then hopped off the hover board a second time and then set it back onto the storage rack nearby, atop another identical rack that was empty, “…normally I go by Professor Moreau, but please, feel free to call me Damian,” he continued, hoping that he didn’t give her a scare or anything.
Right then and there the echoing noise of several pairs of wings fluttered throughout the place, and he then clicked his tongue a bit before whistling—and a pair of Pidoves then came to circle around the redheaded newcomer. “Yin, Yang, don’t scare her or do anything crazy, you hear me?” he addressed, before finally managing to park himself in front of one of the empty research tables—as the other one held a schematic of blueprints laid out, while the third one held an identical hover board resting on it.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
With the invitation to come inside Yumi was a little more at ease about her chances of getting this thing looked at, not that the text ahead of the league wasnt reassuring enough. She turned to her layed down tyrantrum, tilting her head, ready to tell him to go lay in the fields, but with how relaxed he seemed, and how his eyes were already beginning to fall, she knew full well if she said nothing he'd just fall asleep there.
"Er...I think he'll be good."
She turned back with a small smile, keeping the machine under her arm as she skipped in behind, gasping a little as she got a taste of the much fresher air, finding it like a strong hit of something good to her lungs. Something good yeah, but surprising nonetheless. A light pat of her chest made her quickly adjust and she was walking straight into the lab, jumping back a little as the two pidove flew around her head, twirling about to try and keep an eye on them, smiling more and more as her impression of this professor grew more and more positive.
"Oh, er, you want it here?"
She tried looking for a spare chair but was glancing so frantically she couldnt find one, instead just shrugging, standing before the table, and laying the device on the empty surface, patting it down despite there being like, no dust on it. "You know this is meant to summon the powerful flying type, yeah, I er...I have no clue how it works. All I know is its based off some sorta badge powered prototype. That version, as I'm told, controlled the summoned pokemon too, but this version, I'm not so sure. I dont even know if it needs a new powersoure..." She was trying to stay as vague as possible. She was always super cautious when it came to rocket related stuff whether she had to be worried or not. Maybe she could say she got this from Agatha, but still, she preferred to keep that away as long as she could.

The two Pidoves were now circling rather curiously around the female redhead; while Damian was busy trying to clear out enough space on one of his work tables in order to have enough room to poke at the thing that he was going to be examining. Suddenly realizing that he didn’t have any chairs set out for his guest, he then came to a complete stop before quickly shuffling—more like hobbling—over to where there were several stools parked and returned to where she stood before placing it near where she was located.
“Gah, sorry. I just got carried away by this little thing you brought in…” he said in a completely sheepish manner, before quickly averting his gaze back to the table where he’d placed the cubical object. “So, before I get started and hopefully not have to dismantle that little thing you brought for me… care to share where you’ve found it? Did it come from a junk shop, or you just randomly found it somewhere out on the road?” he inquired, now looking between her and the curious thing that was silent as a stone, now resting on the table.
“Of course, if you don’t mind I might have to take it apart to see how it works… my avians aren’t reacting strangely to it or anything…” he added a few moments later, watching as the two Pidoves then flew off to circle for a few moments around him, before chirping and zooming off in the opposite direction.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
When Damian got up to get her a seat, she was both relieved, as she felt it somewhat rude to wander off and try and find a seat, but also a bit bad as she noticed the slight limp Damian was supporting, unable to help but wander how he'd injured himself. Probably testing out one of those hoverboards littered around the lab? "Heh, thank you." She sounded a little nervous, clearly feeling worse for not asking if she could find a seat herself as she took the one he set down for her, looking over the device as Damian himself poked and prodded it.
"Where did I get it?" This was something Yumi was sort of fretting about. She clearly knew WHAT the device was capable of, so she couldn't say she found it at some random junk store. Maybe she could tell the truth? But then again the league might not take well to someone having made a deal of sorts with Agatha...then again the truth can always be manipulated a little...."I found it on one of the sevii islands. I heard a bunch of rumours one of those old E4 members of kanto was hiding out there, and when i was looking for her, ya know, trying to help the league and stuff, I ended up finding this. From the stuff i found around it I kinda assumed it was the device she once used to summon that big white flying monster back in Kanto." That was close enough to the truth as she was willing to get, but to be fair, it was a lot closer than she was expecting herself to get too.
"As far as taking it apart goes I don't mind. So long as you don't lose any parts of course." She leaned over the table, looking over Damian's hands as he toyed with the machine. "If there's anything I can do to help make it work, I'd be glad to, of course."
Post by Damian Moreau on Apr 27, 2015 7:38:41 GMT -5
Now that Damian had wandered back to the table where the cubical object now sat, without any obvious power source protruding from any of its sides, he could only guess as to how the thing was operated. “Sevii Islands, hmm…” he muttered, wondering if it was indeed possible for the place to have wreckage of something like this, visibly intact, there. The caveat in the entire thing was when she’d mentioned the ‘big white flying monster’; that made him stop and look right back at her. He was already in the process of poking the thing, trying to see if there was a way he could get it out of the housing; but the ‘big white flying monster’ really did have his attention.
“When you mentioned the Sevii Islands… and that ‘big white flying monster’… don’t mind if this is purely conjecture, but… the place where you acquired this thing, was it a mess? Like… did a hurricane… or anything of the sort rip through and got destroyed…?” he voiced out; hoping that this niggling suspicion in the back of his mind was just suspicion and nothing more. Because if she did mention the ‘big white Flying monster…’ and this thing… could it be? Is it actually possible? He mused to himself with a rather critical look, before he began to rap his knuckles all over the surface of the machine. It made a hollow noise, yes; but in some places it felt…thicker, than the rest. “Hope you don’t mind,” he continued, quickly reaching for the movable standee where his tools were haphazardly parked.
“When you mentioned ‘monster’, I can’t help but wonder…” he began, trailing off into silence as he then flipped it over as deftly as he could and began looking for the correct screwdriver. Once he’d found it, he then began to remove the screws, one by one; before setting them off to one side as he worked his way around the piece of metal. “…I can’t help but wonder… because I suddenly remembered something that my colleagues over in Arkose had mentioned in passing… that there was some sort of… riot, or something, that had broken out in the Sevii Islands. Though, I can’t be too sure if the riot is linked to this machine…” he continued, voicing his thoughts out loud as he finally managed to wiggle the last of the screws apart, and very carefully lifted the casing up and off its hinges in order to reveal what lay within.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Oh boy, seems her little lie did have a flaw afterall. Even though she'd tried to relate it to the truth, mentioning the beast it was meant to summon had raised a little too much suspicion. Still, she could possibly work her way out of this...and this time she'd be telling nothing but the truth, even if her earlier lie would stand through it.
"W-well no. I mean, the place was a mess yeah, but nowhere near hurricane levels." She began, leaning up a little to watch him move for his tools, looking over the machine while he was away, wrapping her knuckles along it as he had and wondering what on earth had caught his attention. "The place i found it was like some old hideout spot? When I got this thing I ended up being surrounded by a bunch of grimer and Haunter. Maybe the riot was all the chaos that I created trying to get myself out of that mess?"
Part of her story about this machine, relied on the knowledge of what had nearly happened in Kanto a few years ago. She'd assumed it might be world known, but Nue was a relatively new region, so it was possible that more natiive members of the region had little knowledge of the day the Kanto E4 had summoned that legendary beast. "As far as Hurricane's do go though...like. I told you it was Agatha I was searching for right? The reason i wanted to help the league find her is because she supposedly used something like this to summon that white beast I mentioned." SHe knew full well he story was becoming a mess, but the worry she had about how this professor might react to her getting this from Agatha herself, despite her wanting nothing in return, was a real one, so the longer she could avoid revealing that, the better.
Post by Damian Moreau on Apr 28, 2015 22:10:38 GMT -5
At the mention of ‘Agatha’, Damian’s brows shot up so high they were threatening to vanish into his hairline; but thankfully he’d already bent over the machine and had carefully set the exterior off to one side, so this rather surprised look had passed. “Well, I did mention Arkose, so you can probably tell that I’m not from this region either,” he began, finally seeing the interior of the machine he was examining. It was a mess of colorful wiring, to say the least; but there were also certain switches here and there located on some circuit boards that snaked around the maze of wires that were jutting out from all directions.
Of course, his attention was pretty much on the machine itself, but it wasn’t until he’d dwelled on what the female had mentioned about its location did he realize that there was something just a bit off about it. Hmm, I know that there was a riot that broke out there some time ago, but should I dare ask…? Well, nothing to lose if she doesn’t answer… he mused in the back of his mind, before turning the contraption around slowly and then trying to figure out which switch actually turned the device on. At the last second, he then decided that flipping the switch to operate while in the labs was certainly a bad idea, so he then left the contraption alone before looking back up to his female guest.
“Well… I’ve already determined that the switch to actually make this thing work is in here,” he commented, gesturing to several switches that were lined up on one side of the circuitry. “The problem is determining which one. They don’t have obvious labels. Much as I’m tempted to flip them all at the same time, I don’t exactly want to risk my lab exploding right now…” he trailed off with a concerned look on his face; before rotating the exposed contraption around as best as he could without actually setting the wires off.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Spotting the several switches herself, Yumi couldn't help but sigh. She knew this likely wouldn't be a simple task, but hey, at least now she knew it wasn't some sorta dud, so her trip to the Sevii islands wasn't entirely wasted...still. Summoning a pokemon of legendary proportions like this would not be a good idea unless they had at least some time to prepare...which is when the red head got a little idea.
"You're right...summoning it inside would be stupid but..." She trailed off, wondering for a moment if her blonde pal would actually be up for helping her. "You seem to have an idea of what this might summon, hurricans and stuff right? Well. What if I leave, give you a few days to tinker with it and determine the right switch, and before you flip it on, me and my friend can arrive and make sure you have some back up incase things go downhill. I mean, I wanted to be there to see it anyway, but you can never be too careful right?"
She wondered if her offer even sounded that smart in the first place. Afterall to Damian she was probably just some random trainer who found a potentially amazing, or deadly piece of machinery. "I mean, either way, that leaves you with plenty of time to determine what button does what, right?"
Post by Damian Moreau on May 1, 2015 6:21:43 GMT -5
While Damian comprehended the possibilities of all hell breaking loose if he did decide on just flipping all the present switches and just leaving everything up to chance, the female redhead then offered a similar option to him. “That works too, to be honest. Can you leave your contact number with me then? I’ll give you a call once I’ve gotten this entire thing figured out,” he began, now intently observing the series of switches that were lined up almost too neatly on one side of the device.
He was very much itching to take apart the wires and hopefully figure out what power source this contraption used (since it had no obvious telltale signs of needing to be hooked up to something); and there were quite a number of possibilities already running through his mind.
Flying monster… let me see… I know that one of the colleagues in the lab came from Kanto, so he mentioned something about ‘three legendary birds’; and that my home region also has the Weather Trio, only one of them can fly though… but then again… so many possibilities… he mused to himself in the back of his mind before realizing that his guest was still in the labs with him!
“Well, yes, that’s generally the plan. Give me a week at the most, and then I’ll get back at you with my findings. Where do you plan on activating this? Iceburgh? Somewhere isolated, preferably?” he inquired, reaching for a pen and some extra Post-Its he’d found on the other table, before quickly scribbling down his number on it before tearing it off the pad, folding it and then handing it to her. “That’s my number, feel free to either call or text me for any updates,” he ended with a rather determined glint in his eyes.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi had to admit, it was somewhat fun watching Damian lose himself in the device, if anything it at least proved to the red head that he'd be devoting most of his attention to it in order to get it working! "Yeah, here." Taking what she assumed was just a spare piece of file paper from the desk, she proceeded to write down her own number, having to take out her phone halfway through to remember it clearly. She had never really needed to give out her number much afterall. In fact she was sure she hadn't even given it to Josh yet. Good thing she knew where he lived eh?
Taking Damian's number herself, she listened to his idea on finding an out of thw way spot to work with. Iceburgh was perhaps not the best. If her pokemon had to fight, she'd rather not force them to do it in the cold. "I'll look for something good. Promise." Takingt the Postit, she gave a two fingered salute from her forehead as a wave goodbye before proceeding to head out, already imputting the new number into her phone. "Have fun with that device Damian."
