POKÉMON TOURNAMENT EXHIBITION MATCHES @jax[attr="class","match"] VS[attr="id","vs"] Without further delay, here they are! The day has come. With as much promotion as possible, the League Exhibition Matches were set to begin today in Nue. The wilderness surrounding the Ranger Station seems to be have been tamed by the loyal rangers stationed in Nue in preparation, and people are flocking to the area to fill up the grand stands. For those unable to make the journey, the cameras are rolling - ready to capture every bit of the battle! Screens larger than life circle the arena to display all the relevant battle statistics, and the arena itself is standard League decor. Once you've shuffled pass the popcorn vendors and taken a seat, you're treated to the clear voice of the announcer, who preps the crowd in a display of engaging speech and gets everyone ready for the upcoming matches. Behind the scenes, the two getting ready to battle are waiting in their own rooms - all the kind of preparations one could wish for in the world and more. Once the time has come, the contestants are announced and introduced as the enter the field, taking up their places on each end. The referees then explain the rules for the crowd and the match begins! This will be a 3v3 Singles battle, substitutions allowed. BATTLE RULINGS- One mega evolution will be allowed per character per match. However, it should be noted that all matches will be broadcasted in regional television, and so anything participants do will have site-wide implications.
- Failure to reply to your match within 72 hours will result in disqualification, unless prior notification has been given.
- All battles will be constantly looked over and reviewed by our battle coaches to avoid unfair methods or power playing. Minor faults will be treated as the yellow cards of a soccer game, and three minor faults will accumulate into a red card, or disqualification.
- Battle calculations must be done with Pokémon Showdown's calculator, and each post must include a detailed battle summary. Examples can be found here.
A step-by-step guide to Showdown's Calculator can be found here.[newclass=".match a"]font-family:inherit;font-size:inherit;line-height:inherit;[/newclass][newclass="#vs"]text-shadow:-3px 0 #000,0 3px #000,3px 0 #000,0 -3px #000;[/newclass]

The Electric RogueJax Ryder Jax stepped into the arena and ignored the large crowd around him the best he could. Being the youngest Gym Leader out there, he had to prove to Elric that he had indeed grown and become a much more powerful trainer than that weak child from before. On his face, there was a written expression of pure determination that read that he wasn't going to go down easy, no matter how much older and mature the other trainer may have been than him. His belt felt light-weight though with only three Pokeballs lined along it. There was a light-breeze and Jax's T-shirt billowed in it, relaxing the boy just a little when a cool breeze caught his sleeve and traveled through his shirt. A little dust had also kicked up and hit him low around his ankles and skater styled shoes, it was a nice day to ruin with a good storm though!
The sun beat down on Jax's back as he squatted to the ground and stretched his calf-muscles from where he stood, soon, his opponent would show herself and he would have to be mentally prepared. And with the events that have occurred to him within this past month, he thought he was more than ready to handle this challenge! Even his shoulder and ribs had finally healed all the way, giving him full mobility once more!
(I did my best to get this out on time. Sorry it was such short notice! Lemme know if anything is unsatisfactory via PM Will-Will)

To Be a Man In all honesty, she didn’t feel ready. She felt rushed – this didn’t happen when she was leader back in Snowbelle. Sometimes, she wondered if becoming Brook’s Co-Leader was a good thing in her life. Not because of anything related to Brook himself, but rather because everything seemed to spurn and move ever since she moved to this region. Nonetheless, all the things that happened didn’t really count as bad things. Still, as she waited, she felt a bit of pressure on her. She didn’t like this whole build-up. She would just rather get to the battle already. She was good at that. Theatrics, boy, she loved those, but suspense was never her thing. She was still unsure as to her opponent. She was ready to display herself, to defend her title. Technically, her title wasn’t in danger, as her opponent wasn’t an Ice-Type user, but still, she was the Snow Queen, and no one else in the League could take that from her. Normally, she would fight in a double battle, but this seemed feasible, in a sense. She was ready to play her position, at least – she was the snow queen, so she came as regal as possible. Her favorite gown glimmered and shimmered gorgeously with every movement, shaping itself around her as if it was woven on her very skin. The icy-blue tone complimented her eyes, with different shades of blue and white as if it was covered in snow and ice. The long, flowing cape was perhaps her favorite part of the outfit, even more than the tiara on her head filled with aquamarine and opal (it had been her mother’s), and even more than the shoes that matched the dress perfectly. She felt truly regal as she wore it, and thinking about that, thinking that she had earned and worked through her title as the Snow Queen of the League was very… therapeutic. She wasn’t about to be beaten by anyone. She had asked… She had asked how many theatrics she had allowed, and the League replied with “Go Wild.” They really shouldn’t have done that. She stood at the door to the arena, ready, waiting for her cue. Without any wait, she released her one of her Pokemon, as quietly as she could. Braum, the Avalugg, laughed and a beaming laugh, jolly and bright. The Snow Queen smiled softly, comforted by her Iceberg. She felt her confidence surge back in her. She was the Snow Queen – she wasn’t about to be beaten without a hell of a fight. She liked titles – they showed a past, in a few words. Hers… Well, she was about to demonstrate hers. She patted the Iceberg Pokemon softly, who nodded and dropped down, letting her climb on top. She sat down, regal, opulent, as Braum marched out, carrying her on his back, trusted vassal of the queen. The crowds roared as she walked out, her dress seemingly flowing into the Pokemon under her. While she enjoyed the attention, her eyes focused on the opponent. A child… But she knew better. Children were apt Pokemon Trainers, just like anyone else. Determination… stubbornness… was that preparedness? She didn’t know this boy, but she was ready to learn. Battle taught people a lot about each other, she always said. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you!” she called from across the battlefield, grabbing one of her Poke Balls from her dress, still on her Avalugg, who smiled and laughed at her politeness. That was probably the most he was going to get from her right now. She wasn’t rude, no, she was just focused on battle. The battlefield was her specialty. There would be times for pleasantries later. She let out her first Pokemon from the Poke Ball. Maokai the Snover seemed very nonchalant about the situation. Even as the snow clouds gathered above them, the hail from the Snow Warning ability coming, the Snover seemed somewhat… dull. ”Well, shall we begin the ball?” She asked with a playful tone. The referee seemed appreciative that she was already prepared for battle, looking towards her opponent for confirmation so he could begin the battle. @jax 689 CODED BY SYLVIE

The Electric RogueJax Ryder Jax bounced to his feet from a squatting position with gusto, holding his fist up and opening it to wave at Madeline. She was refined, that was for sure... much more refined than he was. Jax had dirt on his ankles and shoes and his hair was a mess from the wind blowing. -It's a pleasure to meet you!- she shouted at him from the other side of the field, making him grin big and wide. " Nice to meetcha too!!" He shouted back, laughing happily. She seemed nice enough, and that just made him all the more eager to battle her. -shall we get started?- All he heard was started. " YEA! Let's get this show on the road!" He was more than ready for this match. Jax had sat down with Ohm, the Pokemon he was going to start with and worked out a game plan. Reaching for his hip, he hocked the first ball out onto the field, watching it open and release the Elekid from it's ball. " Let's do this, Ohm!" "Bi bi!" Ohm was geared up and ready for a battle. Jax was pretty good about prep-talking his Pokemon and getting the pumped up for a battle." Let's shock this crowd!" --------------------------------- Health: 100% Pokedex Name: Elekid ALIAS: Ohm GENDER: Male ABILITY: Static MOVE SET: Discharge | Thunder Punch | Low Kick | Thunder Wave
