And thus, here they went, into the light that they hoped would be the end of the tunnel, the exit, the end. But...
It was for naught. For it was not the case.
Instead, they found something... Peculiar. A spring. A spring inside a ruins? How quaint. A host of Pokemon were swimming around in it, from Remoraid to Relicanth. Of course, Josh knew that there was a good chance they were a nice, unified little community. If either he or Izumi tried to catch one of them... The others would attack and they would be in a lot of trouble. But alas... This spring was beautiful.
"Wow..." Josh whispered as he looked around. Stone walls, yet greenery grew within it as the large spring in the center seemed to be the source of life. He would look back at Izumi. "It's beautiful... But a spring in a ruins? I've never thought it possible..." He would speak softly.

Izumi then looked up from her rather pensive musings, before seeing that they’d wandered into a place that looked…very much out of the ordinary. Sure, she’d heard rumors of imploding rooms and underground rivers, but to see something that looked like it belonged outside; as compared to deep within in the Ruins was something of a surprise. “Whoa… who knew that there was something like this in here?” she muttered quietly, looking around at the seemingly idyllic location that had sprouted out of nowhere, here in the Ruins.
“How a spring managed to appear in here… is something even I can’t really, honestly explain,” she added, before looking down into the pool and seeing that there was quite a multitude of Water-types swimming around within it. “Rats, should’ve brought my Rod with me. But then again we’re just passing through… right? Or am I wrong?” she muttered out loud, not realizing that Josh was nearby and he’d probably overheard her. She then continued to look around in silent awe, before starting to walk forward; the better to be able to search for anything pretty, small, and shining.
Come on, come on. I know that we don’t have much time in here… but please? Give us a shiny each? A rare kind of shiny? she thought to herself in the back of her mind, crossing her fingers mentally as she did so.

Izumi seemed just as surprised as he was when she saw the spring. I mean, you couldn't really blame her. A spring in an abandoned ruins? Who would have thought? He would look over at Izumi and shake his head when she said she should have brought her rod. "Something tells me that the Pokemon here aren't used to being disturbed, Izumi. If you tried to fish in there, or even swim in that pond... There's a good chance that there wouldn't be very much of you left to go and fish something out" He would warn. "They're likely skittish, possibly incredibly hostile. I wouldn't risk messing with them. Trust me" The blonde said.
He would chuckle when Izumi would mutter her little silent prayer for something shiny. Please, something shiny. Knowing her luck? She'd get a Shiny Stone. Of course, he knew she meant a Mega Stone... Something they had never received before. Hopefully Josh wouldn't get the same stone for the 4th time, though... He thought. Still, knowing their luck, they'd be lucky if they managed to find much at all. The blonde would take a breath and take a step into the cavern with the spring in it, peeking around, but remaining careful... Just in case.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found WISE GLASSES! Looks like another digger lost their glasses in the dig. Lucky you these are just for show, so you can probably sell them off or keep them for yourself to make yourself look smart?

It didn’t take too long for the raven-haired girl to start poking around—and a rather loud crunching noise ruined the pristine silence that had permeated all around the room. Groaning to herself, Izumi would then back away as she tried to pick out what she’d stepped on—and saw that it was another pair of mangled glasses, smashed beyond repair. “Oh, shit. Come on, what did we do to offend the mighty gods that point the way to treasure?!” she grumbled in a rumble, sighing as she then kicked the broken frame into a dark corner of the room.
“Come on, J. we don’t have anything else to find in here. Let’s get going, get the hell out of this spring, and keep searching. I don’t think we’re going to be able to find anything of value in this nice little place. Looks can definitely be deceiving…” she trailed off with a dark mutter as she then folded her arms and began looking for the exit—the better to be able to get out of the place right away. They were really running short on time; so she then began to look for a way out of the room with the spring. “Also I was just joking about the fishing thing…” she added with a little huff; why had their luck gone sour so far?
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found Leftovers! You found some leftovers from the previous diggers, clean it up and keep in mind the recyclables!

As they took two steps forward, it seemed that fate had decided to once again make them take two steps back. It came with the sound of a "CRUNCH" that Josh knew Izumi would inevitably growl. He would look back, seeing that Izumi had, of course, once again stepped on a pair of glasses. Okay, well, it was more of a grumble, but Izumi's oh so familiar reaction caused a slow yet quick over time effect from Josh that started as a little snirk, a twitch of the lips, a grin, a giggle, a chortle, a chuckle, and then a full out laugh as he looked over at her, laughing out loud. "Gee Velma, I'm sorry to hear about your glasses!" The blonde would snark over at her, laughing heartily. It had been quite awhile since Izumi had up and cracked a pair of glasses on the ground, and quite awhile since he'd gotten to crank out that joke.
"Alright, alright" He said as he would kick an apple core at the wall as he nearly stepped on it, trying not to disturb the Pokemon, though his laughter had roused the curiosity of some of them, and looked around for an exit.

“Oh, shut it, you,” the raven-haired Trainer began with a little frown on her face upon hearing his reaction to what she’d found some moments ago. The retaliatory sass would come in a few moments as she then saw him kick something out of the way—and it was the rotted core of something she’d rather not talk or discuss about. “Heh, looks like Shaggy didn’t dispose of his trash properly,” she retorted back his way with a triumphant smirk crossing her face for the briefest of moments. Now that he’d managed to bring the topic back to some level of seriousness, she then nodded at his proposition before finally catching sight of what appeared to be an arched entryway that led out of the room.
“Come on, slowpoke, I found the exit,” she remarked, pointing at the way out; before she decided to take the lead and then pulled herself out of the room; hoping that she didn’t run into anything too disastrous as they continued to poke around the place. After emerging from the little room with an idyllic spring, they now found themselves at a long corridor—it seemed to stretch out for miles.
“Tch, let’s go,” she muttered as she plucked his sleeve before proceeding to walk down the stretch of ruins that ran before them. it didn’t take too long for her to finally spot another opening and then quickly made a sharp left inside it; coming face-to-face with a room… that made her smirk and laugh for a few seconds; because the “guardian statue” inside the place she’d found looked like…
“Pfffffft… shampoo commercial model!” she began with a smirk, looking over at Josh before pointing to the statue of what she now knew was an Ampharos, complete with flowing hair growing from its mane. “Wait just a second,” she trailed off, before carefully scanning the floor and then finally picking her way over to the statue; hopping up on the dais and snatching the glittering marble from its plinth. Izumi then hopped back down before winding her way back to where he stood, rolling the marble between her fingers. “Come on, let’s go. I hope you find something good…” she trailed off, clapping a hand on his shoulder.

The blonde haired Trainer would chuckle a bit to Izumi's reaction, giving her a little playful nudge to show he was just kidding around with her. It seemed that he was back to sassing her all over again though, a welcome thing since he hadn't really sassed her in a little while. "Yeah yeah, I think finding trash is normal for us here" He would admit with a small sigh. Ugh, would this ever end? At the very least, Zu had managed to find them a suitable exit. Great, just what they needed. But instead of a way out, they would find themselves in another room. At the end, was a statue of... Some kind of Pokemon with flowing long hair, with a stone that Izumi would grab. He would roll his eyes at her sass, before looking around the room in hopes of finding something of his own. Hopefully, he thought, he would be successful. Otherwise... Well, it could very well be another bad luck season for the blonde.

It seemed that lady luck had finally decided to smile on them both. The blonde would stray from Izumi for a moment, to investigate a strange statue that resembled a large Slowbro shell, except... Bigger, and it consumed a lot of the Slowbro inside, as if it were riding it like a chariot. And below it was.. Some kind of stone. "Hm?" The blonde would let out as he would walk over, and pick up the stone. "Hey, another Mega stone!" He would exclaim. "Pika-Pika-Chu!" Lightning would add in celebration. Of course, as he picked it up, the ground would begin rumbling under them...
".... That's not good" The blonde would admit, cracking his neck. He noted a new entrance beginning to open in the wall, one that led outside... And the other entrance would bring out a giant boulder heading straight for them as the old entrance would close! "RUN!" Josh would call as Lightning would hop onto his shoulder. Josh would grab Izumi, leaping through the entrance... And finding themselves free-falling a few hundred feet in the air toward the trees below.
"HOLY SHI-" He let out as he would wrap his arms around Izumi, before clicking one of his Pokeballs. Josh's blue-colored Dragonite, Gawain would pop out and they would fall onto his back. "Thanks, Gawain!" Josh said with a grin. "Grooo!" He would respond happily. "Onward, let's go home!" Josh called as the Dragonite would start to fly back toward the ranch.
