Who knew that the little action of removing the marble from its rightful “guardian” would cause a trap to be triggered? The raven-haired girl then let out an audible groan, before looking up out of dismay. “Crap, there’s times like this when I hate myself for not following my instincts!” she shouted, quickly pocketing the marble she’d picked up, before turning around and hobbling over to Josh as fast as she could manage. “We have to get out of here, if you haven’t noticed!” she added, spreading her arms out in a grandiose gesture, as if to emphasize the dire straits of the situation that they were in.
If that wasn’t enough to get him moving, the floor was starting to implode from the point where the statue stood—and she knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before they got swallowed up by whatever lay in wait underneath the room! “COME ON! No more time to be spacing out! Let’s get the hell out of here!” she continued, before quickly plucking out her Braviary’s containment unit and sending him out again in a flash of red light. As the Brav emerged, he then gave a surprised squawk, before turning to hover before them. “Come on, come on. come on let’s go!No more time to gawk and just stare into thin air!” she screeched, practically pulling him along before hoisting him astride her Braviary, who then gave her a rather puzzled look.
“I know, I know. I’ll get you your favorite food later, Sora!” she added, hopping on behind him and quickly giving him a few pats. With a surprised squawk, the Braviary then took off; straining himself against the weight of the two. He normally only carried Izumi astride his back, but to have another rider with her was a new experience entirely. “Go, go, GO!” she shouted again, pointing forward to the exit which was now slowly crumbling in. “HANG ON TIGHT!” she yelled, before whistling as loudly as she could—and with a burst of speed aided by Tailwind, the Brav flew much faster, zipping around the falling rubble that was tumbling down from the ceiling.

Oh for the love of god, Izumi, the blonde thought as Izumi's careless grabbing caused them to fall victim to another trap. "For god sakes, Zu, we've been through HOW MANY traps that trigger when grabbing things by now? At least the last time I saw a trapped pedestal, I made an attempt to get past the trap" He would admit irritably. He couldn't totally fault her, she didn't know, but Izumi really did need to keep from being so careless. The floor had begun to crumble below them, and Josh knew instantly, by instinct what was going on. "Lightning, Magnet Rise!" Josh would call toward the Pikachu, who would nod as he would be engulfed in a golden aura, floating through the air. Josh was about to grab the containment unit of Fawkes before the hobbling hootker Izumi decided to grab him and bring him astride her Braviary instead. Fair enough.
"Wait, I can-" He would begin but he had no time to interject. Whatever got them out, he supposed. Josh would hang onto the Braviary as they shot up, and Lightning would grab onto it's tail when he realized it was about to use Tailwind. As their speed went up, Josh buried his face in Izumi's back, still adjusting to the speed change as Lightning would manage to climb the Braviary and onto his Trainer's back, clinging for dear life...
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found WISE GLASSES! Looks like another digger lost their glasses in the dig. Lucky you these are just for show, so you can probably sell them off or keep them for yourself to make yourself look smart?

Due to the rumbling that was now shaking through the room where they’d ended up in, they’d completely passed the piece of junk that was on the floor (Wise Glasses) in a bid to get to safety; because the room imploding on them was kind of a bad thing to get stuck in…! As the Braviary boosted his speed up with Tailwind, he then shot and wove as fast as he could through the falling rubble, and with a loud squawk, barely managed to make it out of the room they’d ventured into as the last of the rubble came crashing down, sealing off the room completely.
“Whoa, whoa! Sora, calm down! There’s no more clear and present danger! You can take it easy now,” she began, quickly patting the Braviary’s back side, the better to inform him that they were out of the room. The Brav then looked behind him; and saw that he still had the strange, yellow-haired human astride him—and was about to come skidding to a halt when he heard his caretaker’s words, causing his adrenaline-filled state to slow down and eventually relax! Several moments later, the Brav then came to a halt, merely hovering in mid-air; and Izumi knew that it was a sign to get off his back.
“Come on, Tho’real, let’s get walkin’, there’s no more danger around us,” she began with a chuckle, tugging at the hem of his clothes, a sign that it was now safe to continue walking around. “I just hope that the near-death escape rewards us with…something,” she muttered as she fished out her Brav’s containment unit and prepared to call him back—once Josh had hopped off his back.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found KEYSTONE! The key. The key to mega evolution. The evolutionary key that leads you to mega evolution. The mega key. That key.

Finally, the ordeal was over. For now, anyways. Knowing these blasted ruins, there were plenty more traps and near death experiences in store for them. Josh felt all tingly as the damned bird would finally land and come to a halt. Lightning's hair had spiked up and stood up on end like a frightened cat. Josh would sigh as he would hold the frightened Pikachu in his arms and climb down, as Lightning's Magnet Rise would wear off, prompting him to cuddle up into his Trainer's arms for protection. Josh would take a breath, brushing down Lightning's fur and giving the poor thing a big hug to comfort it. "Hey... Hey, we're gonna be okay..." He would whisper in Lightning's ear as the poor Pikachu would whimper in fright. Despite being one of his veterans and one of his more dangerous Pokemon, at heart, Lightning was still a big baby sometimes. And sometimes, he was still that Pichu that Josh had found dying in the woods, freezing to death beside the corpse of his mommy...
He would look over at Izumi and nod when she asked to keep moving, and he walked after her, not saying a word, just keeping Lightning in his arms to protect him. He needed him right now...

Once she’d managed to return her Braviary to its containment unit, she then began walking forward, looking around at the state of the ruins that they were in. the place where they’d emerged from looked pretty… “new”, given the state of the room they’d landed in, but this place looked far…older, more decrepit, desolate. She then felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up; just wondering, what the hell was going on? Was there some mysterious force at work here? She then looked over her shoulder and saw that the Pikachu had relocated himself into Josh’s arms; and was being cradled like a little baby.
“Huh…? Is something the matter?” she began curiously, looking at the strange way the Pikachu was acting. In fact, this was the first time she’d seen Lightning so… vulnerable. She then continued walking forward, scanning the hallway here and there, looking for anything that stuck out and screamed “trap”; the better to avoid activating it. She didn’t notice the round egg that had rolled off to a dark corner of the path they were treading, and continued to search deeper and deeper in the Ruins, hoping that their sudden burst of luck the last time didn’t turn around and run out on them.

"He's fine" Josh would promise as he would walk alongside Izumi, clutching the Pikachu like a precious little child. "I think the sudden ride just spooked him is all" He said, scratching the fur on the head of the Pikachu to try and calm him down. "It freaked me out too, but it looks like this whole thing freaked out Lightning a little more" Josh would add, looking down at the Pikachu who was shivering in his arms like a frightened little child. He would ignore the bone that they would walk by, it was pretty much useless anyway, and would fetch little to no value, even with the pointless "Rare" title attached to it.
"It's way too quiet" Josh spoke toward Izumi suddenly, looking over at her. "It doesn't seem right. I feel like something is going to jump out at us any second now" He said, feeling himself shiver a bit.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC STATUE! A stone figure made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

“If I didn’t react as quick as I did, we’d be buried underneath that rubble… or worse,” she began with a pointed look over at her companion’s direction, wondering if he would understand the gravity of the situation that they were in. “Any slower and we’d be dead by now,” she remarked, but with a much quieter tone to her voice, before looking around—and accidentally sending something sailing through the air; before it landed on the ground and exploded into a million little pieces.
“…oops?” she began again, before squinting forward and then seeing the pieces of something…she didn’t exactly want to take out with her. “You know, the longer the quiet is, the more…unnerving it gets,” she continued, before very carefully squinting around and hoping that they hadn’t triggered something that would send them packing! “Hopefully this deathly silence does us some good better than it would harm us, though,” she muttered more to herself than to her companion; who was still cuddling the extremely tense-looking Pikachu in his arms.
Well, I don’t know why Lightning hasn’t calmed down yet, but still… that’s scary… she thought to herself as she then continued to walk forward—before skirting an obvious-looking tile that was sticking out rather obviously. “Heh, not going to fall for that one…” she remarked with a smirk as she then made her way around the obvious trigger before continuing to search through the gloom.

"No, no, I understand that. I'm glad that you acted as quick as you did, Zu" He would respond calmly as he would walk beside her. "I think the whole thing just shocked Lightning, it was all so sudden. He'll be okay in a few minutes, just needs a little bit of rest" He would explain, taking a breath. "I mean, it threw me for a loop too. It was so sudden... So quick, my life flashed before my eyes" He said, scratching the back of his head, noting the out of place tile that Izumi had been smart enough, this time anyway, to not fall for.
He relaxed, closed his eyes for a moment... And tried to sense what was around them. Of course, that was shattered as something would fly above them... Scratch that, a LOT of things flew just over their heads! An entire bloody flock of Zubats would fly above their head, missing them narrowly as Josh ducked down. "Holy shit!" He let out, looking up at the flock as they would disappear further into the ruins. He would stand to his full 6'2 height, brushing himself off.
"God's breath... What in the world was that?" He would whisper.
