Honestly, he was getting sort of annoyed.
As Josh journeyed to the next set of ruins to meet his companion, Izumi Yamamura he couldn't help but feel a little bit irritated at the sudden run of bad luck lately. But that was how things seemed to be. A bit of good luck. And then more bad. And then even more bad. It was infuriating, to be quite frank, but... What could you do? When you're only getting junk during your search, all you can do is just keep chugging along in hope of finding something great like a... I don't know, a Mega Stone, maybe?
Izumi wouldn't know what Pokemon Josh had brought with him as a mount today, since he had gotten here first. Oh well, needed a break from the joke anyway. He could have walked, as far as she bloody knew. The blonde would play with his phone while he waited, as the Pikachu would run around in circles trying to chase his own tail.

From the flip side of things, she’d gotten stuck at the Izakaya again—but that was only because the health inspection bureau of Shui had come around and her presence, as well as her mother’s was required in order to be able to get some of the additional papers smoothed out. Now that the entire ordeal was over (with her mother taking charge for the rest of the day) she then left word with the staff that she’d be going out to the Ruins now. After slipping out the back entrance of the restaurant, she then decided to go there the same way as she’d done the last time—astride her Braviary, Sora.
She knew she’d take way too long in order to be able to get there if she went to the Ruins on foot—and that Josh had already left a voice mail message for her; it was highly unusual for him to go to the Ruins ahead of her; because normally the reverse was the case, she’d end up heading to the location first, and then have him show up.
She could only guess as to why his mood had turned sour—it was most likely caused by the bad luck they’d encountered during their previous visit to the place. “Oh, well…” she muttered as she then urged her Braviary to soar down for a three pint landing some several hours later, coming to a stop in front of the rather… disgruntled-looking Trainer.
“Hey… why the long face? Cheer up, ‘cause the life of the party has arrived,” she began, quickly recalling her Braviary back into his containment unit in a flash of red light and shrinking it down before dropping it down her jacket. “Come on. let’s keep at it…” she trailed off hopefully, before pointing at the entrance and then deciding to take the lead in exploring this time—even if he’d gotten there before her.

Finally, Izumi would make her presence known, and as she did, the blonde would smirk faintly. He was honestly unhappy with their progress so far, but hopefully things would turn around for them. Before he addressed her, he would pick something up, hiding it from Izumi's view. He would pocket the mega stone, noting it as one that Izumi mentioned wanting... He smirked faintly. This would make a good gift, he thought. But he'd keep it a surprise for now.
When she did show, he would smile faintly over at her. "Let's keep at it, then" He would agree, and he started to walk alongside her, with Lightning walking behind them as well. Josh's part of this was done. No more then one artifact per shot, he was told. Perhaps later, when the cooldown expired, he could grab more... It seemed this particular ruin had not been ransacked as much as the last one.

Thankfully, the little spill that she’d taken a few weeks ago was healing up nicely; and the only signs of it remaining was the penguin-like hobble that she’d take whenever she was in a hurry—she was still dragging her left leg along, but not as much as she’d gotten used to. “Sorry, got held up at the Izakaya. Health inspection bureau came over,” she began with a sheepish chuckle, before hobbling her way ahead of him—and then stopping to take a look at him in the dim light. “Is it just me or is your rage seething and simmering under there?” she continued, wondering why he wasn’t too talkative, normally he’d be starting things off with a few teases and digs aimed her way.
She’d missed his surreptitious action of snatching something up and pocketing it, and it wasn’t until she’d very nearly walked into a pillar did she regain sense of where she was going. “What the…OW!” she groaned, hissing as her forehead made contact with solid rock, forcing her to take a few steps backwards in order to be able to rub her hands against her forehead. “Damn it… sorry. I was so preoccupied with some…thing,” she began, looking up and noticing that she’d walked into a statue of what appeared to be… a duelist?Well, it definitely doesn’t have any of those weird-ass items that can send you back in time and relive someone else’s memories of how they came to be trapped inside that object, that’s for sure… she thought to herself as she then gave the statue an elevator look.
“Hey, J, doesn’t this look…weird, to you?” she began, pointing to the statue before her attention was averted to something…glittering, seemingly in the statue’s hand. “Shiny!” she shouted excitedly, quickly taking a flying leap towards aforementioned statue; injury permitting, and then plucking the glittering marble from its hand. No sooner had she done that, the room they’d walked into began to heave and rumble…
