Now that it had been a few weeks since their last…rather disastrous travail through the Ruins, Izumi was now hobbling around with a walking staff. This was caused mostly due to the fact that she’d taken a tumble during their previous visit to the place—and she’d wound up with nothing but pocket change.
After finally emerging from the Ruins, her foot had swelled up to the size of a cantaloupe; and she had to back off from moving around and walking too much. Now that her leg’s swollen state had somewhat receded (and was looking rather normal now) she then hobbled her way out of the Izakaya over in Shui; before placing a call to her ‘travelling partner’ and informing him that she’d be heading out to the Ruins in a few moments.
Once the voice mail message was finished, she then scooped up a particular containment unit, and then tossed it up high, watching as the flash of red light transformed into her Braviary—it had been a while since she’d flown astride his back. She’d been trying to get her Salamence trained to transport her, but with the way his mood swings were going all over the place, it was proving rather difficult.
“Brav?” she heard her avian squawk out, a look of concern flitting through his stare as he watched his mistress hobble over to where he’d emerged, before she’d settled herself on his back. “Let’s go, Sora. To the Ruins, if you may,” she began, holding on to her walking staff as best as she could as the Braviary took off into the air with a loud screech and a flapping of wings.
Several hours later, the avian came in for a circling landing in front of one of the Ruins entrances; hovering before coming to a stop and gently lowering himself so that Izumi could hobble off his back. “T-thanks, big guy. You can rest now,” she muttered, quickly recalling the Braviary in a flash of red light. Now that she was back on solid ground, she then began to hobble forward before finally leaning herself against the wall, waiting for her partner to show up.

Josh honestly wasn't all that excited to get back to the ruins after their last fiasco. It was obvious as to why. I mean, would you wanna go back to a booby trapped set of ruins looking for treasure after Zu already near broke her damn legs doing it? But oh well. The stubborn broad wanted to do it anyway. It wasn't long before she had sent him a message telling him to come to the Ruins. And like that, he would be off. This time, he was on a different sort of mount. What was that? Inferno! The Typhlosion was giving mount duty a spin as he raced through the area like a dynamo with his Trainer on his back, with the Pikachu also on Josh's back. They would come to a stop near the ruins, and Josh would catch sight of Izumi. He smiled over at her. "Return, Inferno, good job, thank you" Josh said to the Typhlosion as he would return Inferno to his Pokeball before heading over toward her.

She then smirked and chuckled as she watched her companion hobble in on… Inferno?! “The hell are you thinking, using a Typhlosion like that,” she began, bopping him on the head as she leaned on her walking staff. “There’s no way in hell I could use Arashi that way, because he’s already got himself to worry about,” she continued, leading the way into the Ruins, leaning rather heavily on the stick as she hobbled forward. Izumik then sighed, before dragging her left foot along as best as she could manage.
“Just be on the lookout for traps…” she trailed off as she began to poke around, using the walking staff as an extended set of ‘hands’ in order to be able to poke around, just in case she’d set something off. No sooner had she let those words fall from her lips did she catch sight of something—which she then poked with the staff. Whatever it was that she’d poked with the staff had fallen over, and smashed with an onerous, echoing noise. “Oh, crap. Don’t tell me we’re in the part of the ruins that’ve been already ransacked…” she began with a groan a few moments later.
She then hobbled on forward, not realizing that her right foot had landed on a rigged tile—which then clicked into place rather ominously, causing her to freeze. “Oh, shit… what was that?!” she began, looking around wildly before hearing a whooshing noise…

"Well, Typhlosion are capable of being quite fast mounts" Josh would explain. "Generally though, smaller passengers use them. But the thing about Inferno is he's bigger than your average Typhlosion, just as yours is. So I gave him a test run there. And surprisingly, he worked well. I was pleased with his results" The blonde would explain. Izumi knew better then to think that Josh would actually abuse his Pokemon like that. He wouldn't push Inferno unless he knew that the Typhlosion was completely capable of it, and Inferno proved it.
The blonde let out a sigh as they would note the junk they seemed to find. Josh would pick up a little gem. Pretty and all, but not what they were looking for. He would toss it aside just as Izumi would step on some kind of booby trap. "... Izumi, what the hell did you do" The blonde called over to her as the entrance they had came in would suddenly seal shut. "....Oh fuck" He muttered as Lightning's ears would perk up as he gazed at the entrance in terror. Even better, the ground would begin shaking below them, and the reason why would be obvious as spikes would pop out from holes in the walls! And if that wasn't enough to give you nightmares, the walls would start closing in on them!
"LET'S GOOOO!" Josh yelled at Izumi as he would pick her up, knowing her running wasn't good, bridal style as Lightning leaped onto his shoulder and he made a break for it down the hall.

Who knew that Izumi’s careless footfalls would cause the entire place to suddenly crumble and go to all hell?! “Holy—Kamisama no haa!” she shrieked, as the door they’d came in from rumbled shut with a rather ominous-sounding noise; before hearing the whistling sound of booby traps erupting form the walls and burying themselves into the opposite side?! “OH FUCK, I’M SORRY!” she continued to screech at the top of her voice, hearing a rumbling noise and looking around—why were things suddenly getting a hell of a lot more crowded than they should be?!
She was about to hobble away as fast as her temporarily injured leg could allow; but she was, quite literally, swept off her feet as Josh had come over and picked her up, bridal-style, carrying her in his arms! She then held on as tightly as she could to her walking staff, and then felt her ears blush red again—why was she so affected by his extremely close presence?! “Lightning, get over here!” she said, gesturing to her position; hopefully the Pikachu would listen! At that same moment, she could hear the sounds of crumbling coming from all around them.
“Oh, hell no. Not now!” she hissed, closing her eyes and holding on for dear life! Due to the way she was currently positioned—they’d gone past something that was glittering on the floor, shaped like an egg. They needed to get out of the place alive, not dead, thank you very much!

"Great job, Izumi! Greeeeeat job!" He would snark down at Izumi who he was carrying like a bride in a horror movie. The walls were closing in, but Lightning would poke Izumi to notify and remind the panicking girl that he was on Josh's shoulder, and that Josh had called him onto it earlier as soon as the problems had started. Nice to know she cares though. Josh would sprint as fast as he could, past the Sun Stone on the ground (Pass) and trying his hardest not to become a pincushion. The walls were getting dangerously close to them, spikes at all and he only ran faster due to panic. His life was on the line. Izumi's life was on the line. Lightning's life was on the line. Even their Pokemon wouldn't survive if they got crushed. He had to do this, and fast! There was no other option, failure was not an option!
He would note an open door. It seemed they had a chance! Breaking off at a sprint as fast as he possibly could, the blonde would leap into the opening, crashing to the ground just as the two closing walls would hit each other in the room behind them. He would groan as he put Izumi down and sat up. "Ugh..." He muttered. "Is everyone okay?" He asked. "Pika Pika..." Lightning muttered irritably, with his face to the ground. "Looks like we're not going back that way" He would mutter.

She was literally hanging on for dear life; never mind the fact that the ominous rumbling was getting louder and louder—not to mention more and more ominous! Izumi knew that Josh was literally trying his best to keep them out of danger—and as they finally sailed through an opening, she then heard the corridor behind them implode on itself with a final, grating noise. “Ugh,” she began, sliding out of his grip and then relaxing her hold on the walking staff as he then set her down—unfortunately, though, his question of asking if everyone was okay was drowned out by Izumi’s sudden yelp of pain.
“Ouch!” she began, quickly rolling over and then pulling out the sharp object that she’d landed on. “Josh, you could’ve been a bit more careful… look at what I sat down on,” she began, showing him… a fang? A claw? It looked like to be one or the other—was it a tooth? “The hell is this?” she continued, examining it rather critically, before tossing it to one side of the room that they’d ended up in. “I’m fine, Josh. How about Lightning, ‘s he okay?” she asked, a hint of concern lacing her tone as she then tried to stand up—but her left leg was now shaking rather violently.
“Ugh… hate that spill I took,” she muttered darkly, quivering as she got to her feet and leaned heavily on the walking staff that she’d brought along with her. “Where do you think we ended up in…?” she continued, looking around—the room was a bit on the dark side, and she’d forgotten to bring along a source of illumination for this expedition.

"Pika.." Lightning let out, giving a thumbs up from his faceplanted position on the ground. It seemed that the electric mouse would be alright, even if he was a bit beat up and a little down in the dumps. Josh would get up, not really happy with how things had gone so far, and looked around. "It seems we're closed in, Zu. I don't see an exit" He would admit. But he wasn't too worried. Because if they couldn't find a way to another room, or even a way out.... They would just have to make one!
"Hmm-Hmm" He muttered as the blonde would grab a Pokeball from his belt and watch as it grew to normal size. "Go, Destructor!" Josh would call as he would bring out his Bunnelby. "Bunnelby!" Destructor let out as Josh would catch the empty capsule in his other hand. "Alright, burrow down and clear us a path!" Josh called as the Bunnelby would nod and start to burrow into the ground, creating a hole for them to go through.
"Let's go" He said as he would motion for Izumi to follow. Lightning would get up and follow as Josh climbed into the hole. Great.
