EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.

Understand We're All Human. Respect the staffers as well as your fellow members and guests. We all have flaws, tempers and quirks. Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

It was pure luck that Izumi had somehow managed to score the thing that was now resting inside a special box that was lined with crushed velvet that she was now trying to hide in her grasp—it was a purely lucky find on the online retail equivalent in the Pokémon world; after some quick negotiations and transferring the amount to the seller’s account, the marble had been signed, sealed and delivered to her just an hour earlier. Oh, how the young one was surprised at the amount that she’d offered to pay—but the raven-haired girl merely shrugged and said, ‘It’s for someone special to me,’ before turning red in the face and thanking the seller for their time and patience!
The box was similar to those that contain engagement or wedding rings—no, Josh and Izumi weren’t at that stage yet, but she was trying to get around her blockade of infinite shyness at that point—so hopefully the tall Tho’real would enjoy this little surprise (even if it was somewhat late) that she’d scrounged up for him. Now, where is he? I know that this is going to be a prelude of tackling two birds with one Ultra Ball… meet up here, then go to that part-time advertisement I saw stuck all over the lamp posts and fences asking for help in that… Stone Emporium. Well, I need a refresher course, and Josh doesn’t know who gets what yet, so, why not take two problems out in one go? She mused to herself, chuckling slightly as she began tossing the little black velvet box up and down in her palm to pass the time.

Josh wasn't entirely sure why Izumi had requested he come meet her at Bosky Hamlet. I mean the two practically lived together already. Why couldn't she do it at the ranch? Did she not want his mother to see or something? She wasn't trying to slip him a pair of her panties or something, was she? Nah, that was nonsense. He doubted Izumi would do something like that, unless it was a joke. Still, she had mentioned before wanting to give him something on Valentines Day, but hadn't and said she wanted to do it later. She had mentioned on the phone when calling him here that now was the time. Of course, he was curious, though still very curious about what had caused her to burst into a fit of tears and run off in the first place.
The blonde would ride into Bosky on his motorcycle, with the Pikachu taking the side passenger seat. Once they found a good place to park, he would hit the brakes and cut the engine before tossing his helmet into the storage pit, helping the Pika off the bike as well. His long hair would fall in front of his face, and he would blow it aside. He would find Izumi and smirk over at her as he came over, while the Pikachu tried to basketball shoot his own helmet into the bin too, failing several times before getting it and then joining them after his victory dance.
Josh would smile at Izumi as they came face to face. She might notice something different though... He'd shaved his beard!

Izumi was still tossing the container up and down, a rather…distracted look written all over her face. Would the plan she’d thought up of actually work? Or would it be a total flop? In any case, the reason why she’d slipped away from their ‘lair’ in the Wilds was in order to meet up with the sea-green haired girl who’d given her the marble that was now housed within the little container she was flicking up and down, up and down. The moment she caught sight of a familiar flash of blonde hair, though, she quickly palmed the small box and let it slip down into a pocket on the back of her jeans, watching as he approached.
Was there… something rather different about him this time around? She then blinked, trying to pick out what it was. Only when he’d approached her and waved in acknowledgment, she then noticed what was different about him—the little stubble he’d been rowing was gone! “Ooh, clean-shaven,” she began, a smirk on her face, before readying herself to dodge any noogie attempts that he would toss her way! “In any case… thanks for coming out all the way here. Remember what I said earlier, during out short phone call before you came out here? I… I have something to give you. Two things, in fact,” she continued, looking away—because there it was again, the blush that was creeping up on her face as well as her ears was returning in full force.
“But first… can… can you close your eyes? Please?” she asked, hoping that he’d humor her and follow her simple request at the very least.

The blonde chuckled as he would rub the spot where his beard used to be once Izumi had brought it up. "Yeah, re-growing it. Trying to get a smoother look instead of rugged and rough. I'm going for a whole new look" He revealed. "How does a trenchcoat sound?" He would ask, smirking a tad. While the premise was a joking one, he did appreciate her opinion. He really was going to wear a trenchcoat. "I was thinking a black trenchcoat, with large designs on the arms, and on the shoulder that Pokeball logo that I have on my current one. Get one custom done, maybe. Of course, still wearing a blue t-shirt under it. And black pants, trackpants or splash pants maybe. Something comfortable. Black boots... Maybe steed toed, maybe something more suited to multi environment, not sure" He admitted with a shrug. "Wearing a scarf instead of a bandana too, perhaps. A bit of a change" He said. "Oh, and fingerless gloves. Need to protect my hands in these harsh environments" He would add. "What do you think?"
But for now, it was time to get to the business of what she had brought him here for. He notice the blush on her face as she would talk about giving him... Two things? Double surprise, huh. "Alright..." He began as he would curiously close his eyes.

She was waiting to see whether or not Josh would humor her and follow her directions, and she breathed a little sigh of relief to see that he’d followed her rather… odd request, just because. Is he just playing along or is that for real? She thought to herself as she then rummaged around in her back pocket before slowly approaching where he stood, just to make sure that he wasn’t cheating. Upon approaching and seeing that he wasn’t, she then smiled softly, before beginning, “You really want to know why I asked you to come all the way out here? It’s because… I got something for you,” she began, finally pulling out the box and then popping it open.
Unfortunately, it the box didn’t contain a ring, it contained something else—a particular something that she knew the blonde-head would enjoy immensely. It was all a matter of luck when she’d logged on to her usual account in the online trading service, and saw that there was someone selling the rock she’d just picked up and placed inside the box that she was holding, face-up, right now. “As for your little wardrobe change… you’re really favoring most of the colors on the darker end of the spectrum, aren’t you?” she continued, snickering softly as she continued to walk around him, stealing glances at his eyes before making sure he wasn’t peeking.
“Eh, whatever works for you, but hey… you can take a look now,” she continued, coming to a stop in front of him and holding the small box, that had been opened; its contents facing him. If he was to look, he’d see… it was a marble. But no, it wasn’t just any particular marble; it was one he’d been literally on edge to find ever since they’d started prowling through the Ruins together. “I… I found someone selling this online… and so, I decided to get it as my very late birthday present to you. Happy Birthday, J. Here’s your very own rock for Fawkes,” she managed to blurt out, feeling her face suddenly flush a delicate shade of red once she was done talking.

"Well, you did say you had something for me already" He would remark with a small smirk as he kept his eyes closed, awaiting whatever it was that Izumi wanted to give him. Honestly, he was curious. Maybe a little bit anxious, a bit excited... What was it that she needed to bring him all this way for? He doubted it was anything dirty, they were practically in public, after all right? "Izumi, look at me" He said when she would remark about his wardrobe. "Most of my wardrobe, right now, is black, Zu. It's always been like that. It's just a change of jackets, really. And a different scarf" He said, taking a breath. Finally, she would tell him to open his eyes, and he would comply. What he would come to see in front of his very eyes was the very last thing that he could have possibly expected from her.
Charizardite X.
Josh recognized it as the same kind of stone that Yumi had shown him, one of the only Mega Stones he knew of. He had seen it used, and wanted to use it with Fawkes... He had searched relentlessly over and over again in the Ruins in hopes of finding it, but had never managed to find it. He had worked so hard, wasted so much time and energy, but never any dice.... But here it was, right in front of his very eyes. His eyes widened in surprise. He couldn't believe it. Was this real? No... It couldn't be real. But it was. His lips twitched into the biggest grin that Izumi had ever seen out of him.
"I.... I... I can't believe it..." He whispered, staring at the stone that he had worked so hard to find. "I...." He was speechless. This was real. Izumi had really gone and found it for him. He didn't touch the stone first though, the first thing he did was pull Izumi into the tightest hug that he could muster, holding her close and tight. "I... I don't know what to say. Thank you..." He whispered into her ear softly. "This is possibly the greatest gift I could ever ask for"
The hunt was finally over, thanks to Izumi... He felt his shoulders relax a bit. It was like a giant weight had lifted itself off of them.

Izumi then began to watch his reaction—what would the first expression on his face be like, upon seeing the very thing he’d been searching for so long had finally decided to make its appearance in front of him?! She then caught sight of a grin beginning to spread on his face, before feeling herself getting pulled into a sudden hug! “Wh-whoa!” she began, maintaining a grip on the box. She was actually expecting him to poke the thing first, because she knew that the glint of disbelief had passed in his eyes as she’d caught him staring at it, trying to comprehend and register the fact that it was real.
Thankfully, I got to it first… paid a rather hefty sum for it, but it’s all worth it in the end… she thought as she then heard him muttering the sweetest nothings into her ears; which then caused her to default into her blushing face. She knew that her ears were literally on fire (read: burning a shade of red so crimson it’s a crime) but her hair thankfully hid this little fact. “You… no need to thank me. I know you’ve been looking for it ever since I found mine all the way back in Kalos. So, in a way, your search has finally come full circle,” she continued, hugging back with her other hand; making sure to snap the box shut with her right hand—just in case the marble decided to make a break for it.
She then buried herself in his arms for much longer than what was normal; because who knew if she was going to be getting this chance ever again?! After a while, though, she needed to come out for some air, and she slowly untangled herself from his grip, before rummaging around in her pockets once more. She then found the containment unit she was looking for, before popping it to full size and then holding it in her left hand.
“I know you’ve wanted a Snivy so much… so here’s one for you. I know as much as you do that we’re in the business of getting these ‘starters’ all together, so I hope this brings you closer to your dream…?” she trailed off, presenting her second present to him, clutched in her left hand. If he cared to look, he’d see a snoozing Grass-type, curled up inside the containment unit.

He would smile a bit as he would playfully mess with her hair a bit. He couldn't believe she had managed to find something this rare, and had gone so far as to pay out the ass for it, just for him. The smile on his face would have to probably be torn off in order to be removed, it was practically glued on! Despite her humble reactions, he chuckled and shook his head. "You really didn't have to, Izumi. I mean, sure, I've been looking for ages but... You didn't have to go such lengths for me. I'm not worth it" He would say softly, fully expecting a Thor'eal reference in response. He knew it was coming.
But instead, over came the second present. Y'know, once she managed to tear herself from him after snuggling him for god knows how long. It felt nice, he supposed... She was a good snuggler. (Pfft). This time, Josh would peek into the Pokeball curiously, and his smile only widened. It was a Snivy, the second to final addition necessary to complete his starter collection.
"Izumi, I could kiss you" He joked as he took the Pokeball. "What's the catch?"

At the last part of his first retort, she then cracked a devious grin—because who knew that even after all this time, they were still going at it in regards to the hair and shampoo commercial model thing? “Heh, you really deserve it. I’ve watched you search high and low, up and down, for the one marble that continued to elude you…until now. I went and got that for you, because you’re worth it. You’re definitely worth it,” she began, folding her arms across her chest while still holding the two presents that she’d gotten him. She knew an indirect dig when she saw one, and she never failed to respond in kind to it!
“You know, instead of just makin’ jokes about kissing me, why don’t you actually go and do it?” she said without thinking a few seconds later; before realizing the words that had just come out of her mouth! At that sudden moment, she then turned around, the better to hide the fact that her entire face was now burning a shade of red so criminal, it was definitely not allowed to be flashed in public! Once she’d taken a few deep breaths in order to be able to calm herself down, she then turned around in order to face him, and to answer that last question he’d asked her.
She then decided to take a few steps and began walking, before looking over his shoulder in order for her to be able to give herself time to think. Once she’d picked up a slow, steady walking pace, she then spoke up, “Well, why do you assume that there is always a catch in everything? To be honest… I hope you don’t mind your Snivy being a guy. When it comes to certain Pokémon… I have a tendency to favor them as a specific gender,” she said by way of explanation, before dwelling on some of her particular focuses.
Gabriel, Oceanus, Momiji, Arashi are a few examples of me being picky with my genders. Hayato, I can’t do anything about her since he likes being a girl now. Mudkips… eh, I’m saving that name for a particular one… she continued to muse to herself; and kept on walking—until she caught sight of something that had been pasted up on a nearby lamp post. Curiosity got the better of her, so she then made her way over before snapping up the piece of paper and then reading it, before turning around to face him once again.
“Hey, J? I think I got the answer to your problem. Y’remember the time I called you over outside of Lavaridge and told you what the marbles are? Here’s the answer,” she remarked, showing him the flier under his nose. It was an advertisement for part-time help at Bosky’s own version of the Stone Emporium.

Oh lord, here came the Thor'eal references again. He knew this was coming. He so knew this was coming. He would raise an eyebrow as he noticed it, and shook his head. "Oh, of course you'd do that, Izumi" He spoke, letting out a sigh. He couldn't be serious for one moment, could he? Oh well. No point in remaining serious, aye? She'd done him a kindness, he'd go with whatever. He'd let it slide... This time. Maybe. But the next retort wasn't going to be so lucky.
"Oh really now?" He would ask when she would flat out tell him to go and kiss her instead of just making jokes about it. "Okay" He snarked as he would pucker his lips and lean in just a bit as Izumi would turn around in embarrassment. "Come ooooon, I'm over heeeeeere~" He would tease. Of course, the subject was soon changed. For now. He would shrug when she would mention genders. "Oh no, it's fine, I'm the same way" He said. "I'm picky bout em too" He would add before letting out an audible "Hmm?" When she brought up the stones. A part time job, the sign said... For what?
He would make the kissy faces at her again afterword, just to tease her.

Unfortunately for Izumi, who knew that her companion was going to take her words seriously?! She’d missed the face he’d pulled off, complete with wet, slobbering lips at the exact time she’d turned around in order to be able to hide her embarrassment. As she turned around once more, she then saw that he was trying his hardest not to smirk or otherwise laugh in her face—what had caused him to have a reaction like this? She was then only slightly surprised to find out that he was also just as picky with genders like she was with certain members of her little ‘legion’; before she’d showed him the flier and his last retort was asking her about the side-job in question.
“Duh. You forgot that time already? I told you what the marbles were and whose was whose, but I guess you weren’t paying too much attention to what I was saying that time. This is kind of like how I did it before in Lumiose, at the Stone Emporium at Vernal Avenue. Assisted the cranky guy there for an afternoon; and then at the end of the day, he told me which stone goes to which Pokémon.
Of course, since I’ve beein buying and finding some new marbles myself, I’m a bit left in the dark on who they belong to, so it won’t hurt to have a refresher course about them, would it?” she said by way of explanation—finally bursting out into laughter the moment she saw his face all screwed up, wet lips and all.
By instinct, she then smacked the flier in his face, letting him kiss the paper instead. “You’re joking with me again, Joshie-poo. This is serious digs. Come on, let’s go and get to the store, we don’t have all day, y’know?” she remarked, sniggering to herself as she then remembered what she’d called Josh in order for him to catch her attention. Joshie-poo. Ah, yes, another piece of ammunition to use in the war of the flirting… she thought with a smirk on her face as she then reached for his arm and attempted to drag him along the way, since he didn’t look like he was going to budge anytime soon.

"If I recall, you told me what the marbles did, and about the Tower, but you forgot to disclose just what marbles applied to what Pokemon, Zu" He would explain, scratching his head. "The only reason I knew about Charizardite X was Yumi. She used it, and told me 'bout it. Since I've wanted to really work on my bond with Fawkes, I thought having a goal like being able to use the Mega Stone for him to Mega Evolve would be the perfect motivation for both of us. Fawkes lives to get stronger. For some reason he's obsessed with it. I wanted to use this to my advantage to finally bond with him and get him to listen" He would reveal. "That's why I've searched so hard for it. And now that I have it, I can finally put my plan into action. Of course, I've always wanted to use Mega Charizard X in battle too... Ever since I saw Yumi use it, so this gift means a lot to me" He said with a soft smile.
He would dodge the attack this time, and laugh as Izumi would drag him away. He would pull her into a noogie as they walked off.
