"Yeah, yeah, alright" Josh would speak to Izumi with a snirk as she had forgotten to bring any sort of Pokemon besides Ravana before she would head off back towards another quarter of the ranch. She had given clear instructions. Stay. There. Do not move. Do not go anywhere. She would be right back. Of course, Josh would do as asked, seeing as the Pokemon he was planning to train just so happened to be around. He had returned them to their Pokeballs to surprise Izumi, and waited, and waited. Lightning had fallen asleep in the grass while the two were cloud watching, laying back to back in the grass staring up at the sky. "Gah, hurry the hell up, Izumi..." Josh would mutter as he could hear the Pikachu snoring behind him. What was taking her so long anyway?
Of course, this was Izumi we were talking about. She seemed to be late quite often.

Unlike Josh over here who had majority of his Pokémon grazing near the place where they’d just concluded their first sparring session, Izumi’s own beasties were roaming all over the place—therefore making looking for them much more difficult. She knew that Zan would be easy to spot from the air due to his ‘fabulous’ coloration; but finding Ariadne was going to be a problem. She’d already acquired their containment units and was clutching them in her hands; currently astride her Braviary, Sora—who was cruising along at a sedate pace, not too far above the ground so that the targets she was looking for would be easier to spot.
After a few minutes of flying around, she finally spotted the… pink Metang, who was lazily lounging under the sun, trying to catch some rays on his pink body. After quickly recalling the Metang (who had no idea what had happened as the red beam of light sucked him back inside his containment unit) the Brav continued to fly around—until it finally spotted a Bulbasaur who was lounging near her Grotle and a Snivy, who looked like they were conversing about something.
“Sorry, Hayato! Need to borrow Ariadne for a bit!” she shouted from her current perch, quickly recalling the surprised Bulbasaur in a beam of red light; before giving a two-fingered salute to the two and zooming on their way. Now that she had the two she wanted to improve on, she then made her way as fast as she could back to where she knew Josh was waiting.
Hopefully he doesn’t mind the waiting. I took a while… she mused to herself as she then re-approached the place where he was now lounging; before making her Braviary hover down as low as he could so that she could jump and land on the grass. Once her Brav was hovering as close to the ground as he could manage, she then took a flying leap—and literally rolled her way to the grass, before giving a wave in her Brav’s direction and watching him take off again into the sky.
Now that she was back, she then proceeded to brush off all the grass that had stuck to her clothes before promptly walking over to Josh and giving him a bop on the forehead. “Wake up, sleepy head, I’m back,” she remarked, clutching two containment units in her other hand as she stood over where he was reclining, seemingly drifting off to sleep.

Izumi was taking wayyyy too long. Seriously, how long did it take to find a gay Metang and a cabbage? Finally, she would arrive, with her Pokemon in toe, and booping him on the forehead. He would roll his eyes as he would look over at Lightning, who had dozed off. "Look at 'em. You took so long, Smellzumi, that he fell asleep!" He would joke cheekily, chuckling as he got up. Josh would return Lightning to his Pokeball before wiping the grass off him. "So you got your Pokemon, do ya?" Josh would inquire as Lightning would irritably let himself back out of his Pokeball, tempted to shock his Trainer for putting him back in. "Sorry, Lightning" Josh would apologize, patting the relatively annoyed Pikachu on the head before they would, in sync, back up to make space on the battlefield. "Already made my choices, Zu. Let your Pokemon out" He would say, smirking over at her. Y'know, since she hadn't actually sent out the Pokemon that she had put back in their balls earlier...

“Well, sorry for taking so long. It’s just that I had to look for where my Grass-types were convening. I had to search for the other one, and had to fly out almost all the way to the homestead’s borders,” she began, before proceeding to bop him on the forehead with her knuckles. “What, you’re going to use Lightning?” she continued, looking at the Lightning Mouse, who’d seemingly slipped off into a doze while waiting for her to return.
Her suspicions were confirmed as he then made some room, putting enough space between themselves and having Lightning out on one side of the field. “This isn’t going to be like last time,” she muttered to herself as she took up her position, before clutching the two she was planning on using.
Izumi then tossed the two full-sized containment units sky-high, before watching the red beams shoot out of them. The first one then proceeded to transform into a green quadruped-like flower; the green bulb on its back not yet beginning to blossom. “Bulba?” she heard Ariadne call out, before turning to look at her with a confused look on her face. “Sorry about earlier, Ari. I already told Hayato that I’d be borrowing you for a while,” she said with a sheepish grin on her face. The second flash of red light then transformed into something that Josh might’ve already seen before (or not, she never knew); but instead of landing with a loud thud, Zan had chosen to seemingly float in mid-air; showing off his cherry-blossom pinkish sheen to not just her, but to the individual across the way.
“So there you have it. Ariadne, and Zan. So, you’re using Lightning, who’s the other one?” she asked, a bit confused—because she had two out on her side of the field; however on his end of the place he only had one. What’s he planning? She thought to herself, wondering what he could be up to at this point in time…

"Grass types?" He would inquire, looking first from her Bulbasaur, to her fabulous Metang. "I see one grass type, and a steel type Izumi" He teased, chuckling a bit, but shrugged. "And.... Who said I was using Lightning?" He would inquire curiously. Lightning had been put back in his ball because he was sleeping. The Pikachu had let himself out after waking up. Josh had never said he was using him in the battle... Another oversight on Izumi's part, he supposed.
"Alright, I've already picked my Pokemon" He said, chuckling a bit as he would take two Pokeballs from his belt. He would tap them both, causing them both to grow to full size. "Hope you're ready! These two are proud warriors. They won't be backing down from a fight!" He hyped them up. "Go! Terry! Vigilance!" He would call as he would toss the Pokeballs into the air, with them opening to bring out his two Pokemon. A Treecko and a Tepig would pop out of the balls, landing on the ground as Josh would catch their empty capsules as they dropped down from above him.
"Treeecko!" Terry would let out, stretching before preparing for battle. "Tepig!" Josh's newest team member would respond, with an ember shooting from his snout as he seemed ready for this. The two, who had faced off prior in an epic battle to decide the Tepig's fate, were curious as to why they were both sent out for battle. But upon seeing the Metang and Bulbasaur, they seemed to realize it was a double battle, and that they were teamed. Seeming to accept this, they would nod at one another, and take their places.
"Alright, mind if I start?" He would ask, before smirking. "Vigilance, use Defense Curl, then Flare Blitz on Metang! Terry! Use Scratch, then Pound, both on her Bulbasaur!" Josh would command. They would both nod and charge, the Tepig first curling into a ball for a mini-Rollout that didn't last, but bolstered his defense before an aura of fire would engulf the Tepig and he would leap toward the Metang. Meanwhile, Terry would leap into the air before coming down on the Bulbasaur, first going for a series of scratches, before rearing it's tail back and trying to Pound it into the ground with it's tail.
[Tepig used Defense Curl, Flare Blitz on Metang. Treecko used Scratch/Pound on Bulbasaur]

Izumi’s initial reaction to Josh suddenly using a Treecko and a Tepig (she was sure it was a Tepig, because it was the only remaining so-called ‘starter’ that she didn’t have in her possession yet); but what really drew the cake was the fact that the Treecko shared a nickname with a female redhead’s own Christmas Tree. “Wait a second—your Treecko shares its nickname with Yumi’s Christmas Tree-like thing?! Also, you didn’t even shout ‘GO’ or something along those lines again!” she exclaimed out of surprise, watching as the two were now literally screaming in her direction.
She then noticed that the little ball of bacon was coming in ridiculously fast—and was crackling with flames. Reminds me of Ara’s Flame Charge, but his Flame Charge isn’t this… flashy; nor does it look this dangerous… she mused to herself as she then pointed forward and gave her companions their marching orders.
“Zan! Bring up a Reflect and Light Screen combination, plus boost up your speed with Agility! Ariadne, get your whips going, lash out with Power Whip, and try to put some space between yourself and that Treecko!” she began; watching as the barrel-rolling Tepig closed in on the Metang; who’d thrown up his shimmering pink limbs at the last second and had conjured up not just one, but two distinct barriers that glowed in distinct shades; thankfully the damage that Zan had taken while attempting to block the Flare Blitz had been mitigated somewhat; however there were some scuff marks that had started to appear on his limbs.
Once the Metang had boosted his speed via Agility and had zipped out of the way, the Bulbasaur then let out a cry and unleashed the appendages that were whipping around like crazy; in an attempt to swat at the Treecko away from her! Both of her Pokémon had taken some damage in the initial salvo, therefore forcing her to go on the defensive and to plan her next moves carefully…
Bulbasaur and Metang out on the field!
Metang throws up Light Screen / Reflect combo in order to mitigate the damage from the Tepig's Flare Blitz! After the two defensive screens go up, boosts his Speed with Agility! Bulbasaur uses Power Whip in an attempt to swat and knock back the Treecko, takes the one-two combo hit from the other Grass-type!

Josh smirked faintly, knowing that Tepig was the starter that Izumi was looking for. Josh just needed Fennekin in order to complete his collection. The question was, how would each of them complete their collections? Well, Izumi would be able to just breed the Tepig and get hers. Unfortunately for Josh, he had no way to breed for a facking Fennekin. His collection goal was going to be a lot harder. He did note though, Izumi's reaction to Terry's nickname. "Huh. Funny, I bought Terry off of Yumi" He said, shrugging casually. Funny convenience? How bout it?
"I SO warned you this time!" He would shout over to her. It was true! He really had this time! She just didn't listen, as usual it seemed. "If your ears were as big as your butt, you'd probably have heard me!" He would joke cheekily, with a grin. Izumi was on the defensive for now, though her barriers were a concern. "Leer, Terry! Then block the Power Whip with Pound!" He would call as the Treecko's eyes would glow in the direction of the Bulbasaur for a moment, before his tail would swing around, knocking back the Power Whip. As for Metang, Josh would quickly instruct Vigilance to use Flare Blitz again, along with another Defense Curl, on Metang. The result? The Tepig would suddenly curl into a ball as it launched itself toward the Metang, rolling in a faux rollout, increasing it's defense as it would fly at full speed in a fiery blaze toward Metang.
--------------------------
Terry used Leer on Bulbasaur, Pound blocked Power Whip. Vigilance used Defense Curl, increasing it's defense by 1 stage (x2 total) before using Flare Blitz on Metang again.

“Pffffft, lies,” was all she said as she then proceeded to cross her arms over her chest; watching as the Treecko then used Leer before trying to block the incoming Power Whip with Pound. She knew that the stronger attack would still break through and land on the other ‘mon, regardless of blocking or not (because that’s how moves went, as far as she was concerned—if one of the moves was more powerful than the other, then the blocking move wouldn’t be able to completely absorb the hit).
Seeing as the little porker was on the offensive again, it then resembled another situation that she’d been in quite recently—one of them was just meant to tank the hits and annoy, while the other one was the main source of output damage.
Time to use unorthodox moves… application number 1, I hope this works, she mused to herself, watching as the incoming ‘flaming ball’ then charged in once more; she didn’t know what the Tepig had used before the Flare Blitz; but there was a little ball of blazing flames incoming and they had to get out of the way! “Ariadne! Boost yourself into the air with Seed Bomb, and try to land atop Zan’s back! Zan! Agility out of that incoming comet, and counter it with a Meteor Mash! Then, Earthquake!” she shouted, hoping that their little on-the-fly maneuver would work right the first time!
“Bulbaaaaaa!” she heard her Grass-type cry out, before quickly launching herself into the air, releasing a payload of hard-shelled seeds onto the Treecko below. She knew that going up against something with the same type was going to be a bit of a disadvantage, but there was another motive for it…
The Metang was on the move, quickly boosting itself with the Agility, zipping as fast as it could out of the way of the incoming Tepig, while the Bulbasaur was in the air—and was now on a trajectory falling down from its flight pattern! Izumi was watching on tenterhooks as she then saw the little grass-type falling, falling, falling—and landed with a loud clanging noise on the Metang’s back! Yes! That was a good move! She thought to herself, grinning as the Metang braced itself upon feeling the Bulbasaur’s impact landing on its back quickly aiming a solid, hard-packed punch that was more than enough to send it into next week at the Tepig—if it connected.
After the Meteor Mash was done, the Metang then quickly slammed down both of its heavy arms; before a violent tremor ripped through the surrounding area! That’s why I needed Ariadne on his back… Earthquake is an evil little thing… she continued to muse as she then waited for him to make his next move.
Bulbasaur and Metang out on the field!
Both 'mons on her side of the field get their Defense lowered one stage; as Bulba moves with Seed Bomb, launching itself into the air and raining the hard-shelled seeds on Treecko!
Metang then uses Agility to zip out of the incoming Tepig's way; before Bulba lands on its back; and counters the Tepig with Meteor Mash, before unleasing Earthquake!

"Telling the truth, I swear. You just weren't listening" He would remark. Women and their selective hearing and their selective memories. Seriously, what did she take him for? He didn't cheat. He wouldn't cheat in a relationship, he wouldn't cheat at cards... If he played cards, he wouldn't cheat in a battle neither! Still, Terry had been hit by the indeed stronger attack, though the Pound had done it's job in absorbing most of the blow while dealing some damage itself. But Izumi seemed to have a strategy in mind, one that Josh would need to find a way to counter. If she was going to play unorthodox... He would have to play the same game.
With the Seed Bombs coming down, Josh had a strategy in mind. "Knock them away with Pound!" Josh would call to the Treecko as use it's tail to knock the Seed Bombs back into the air toward their original aggressor. But there was still Meteor Mash to take care of....
"Jump into the air and use Pound on Vigilance, re-direct it's course!" Josh would call as the Treecko would leap into the air, again using Pound, but this time it's tail would hit the rolling flaming pig, re-directing it's course just over the Meteor Mash, but subtle enough to nail it right in the head if possible... Meanwhile, this little tactic also allowed them both to dodge Earthquake due to neither of them being on the ground. "Rollout!" Josh would call to Vigilance as the flaming ball of pig would suddenly accelerate, going right for either Metang or Bulbasaur, not mattering which he hit.

“Pffft, lies,” was all she had time for before the battlefield suddenly erupted into a shower of chaos—because who knew that the two on Josh’s side of the arena were rather… aggressive and charging head-on?! the little Earthquake maneuver would be rendered useless though, as both of this own Pokémon had managed to get some airtime—this was something she was hoping to avoid. Alright, then. Time to deploy the crazy tactics… she thought as she then whistled a loud, shrill blast; before getting to the next steps for this sparring practice. She then noticed that the two were working together—and that she would have to catch either one or both of them off-guard with a surprise of her own.
“Knock away the incoming projectiles with your Power Whip; before attacking them with the same technique, Ariadne! Zan, block them both with Psychic, and do it twice!” she began, before folding her arms and watching as the two sprang into action once more. Seeing that the hard-shelled seeds were mostly zooming back at her, the Bulbasaur quickly responded with a Power Whip of her own; and watched as the incoming projectiles came up against a hail of lashing vines; knocked down and off to one side. Once the imminent threat was gone, the second application of Power Whip came lashing out again at the much-larger incoming projectile! There was no way in hell she was going to let her Bulbasaur get off the Metang’s back; it was rather vital to what she was planning.
Once the thread had passed, the Metang then saw an incoming, literally blazing ball of fire; and quickly threw up both its arms and released two consecutive blasts of nearly-invisible energy; and Izumi felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up and ripple—was this the after-effects of using Psychic? Either way, there were two consecutive blasts of energy that had gone up; and were now directed right at the incoming Tepig! If the first blast of Psychic didn’t hit it, then maybe the second one would…?
Bulbasaur and Metang out on the field!
Bulba knocks back its own projectiles out of the way with one Power Whip, before lashing out with the second one at the incoming Treecko!
Metang uses two blasts of Psychic in an attempt to block the incoming metoer that is Tepig.

Izumi had unleashed quite the onslaught in response, and Josh wasn't sure how he was going to handle it. But there was only one thing he knew he could do...
"Charge them straight on, don't hold back, dodge the attacks and charge in!" Josh would suddenly call as the Treecko and Tepig would nod, with Terry leaping into the air, catching up with the Tepig and launching themselves toward the Metang and Bulbasaur. The Psychic would hold them for a moment, as would the Power Whips, but they continued taking the attacks like Champions, with fierce, dogged determination... It seemed that they had gotten competitive, wanting to outdo the other and taking all the attacks they could throw...
"Hey, what are you guys doing?" He would call. They weren't dodging the attacks.. Why?
Finally, they would clash with their attackers, head on, Flare Blitz and Pound at the same time, side by side. (As agreed to with Izumi) the Pokemon's attacks would collide, leading into a stalemate, a struggle. Neither side wanted to give in... As they tried to force their attacks on their opponents, both Vigilance and Terry would turn their heads to look at one another as they pushed with all their might... And the both of them felt a great deal of respect toward one another at that moment. Their warriors spirit showed... And it was admirable to them both. They would nod at one another before pushing even harder before...
The clash was suddenly engulfed in a bright light. "Guh!" Josh let out as he was blinded for a moment, before the light would suddenly turn into an explosion, sending all four Pokemon back. Vigilance and Terry would land on their feet, but something was different...
"Grovyle!"
"Pigniiiite!"
"Whoa!" Josh let out as the smoke cleared. "You... You guys evolved!" Josh would exclaim in surprise as he realized that Terry had evolved into Grovyle, and Vigilance had evolved into Pignite! "That's... That's awesome!" He said, grinning wide, before looking over at Izumi. "I think we can stop here for now"

Are you suicidal? What’re you thinking?! She thought as she heard him give the order to charge head-on instead of attempting to block the attacks! Well, it’s your problem, not mine… she thought as she then issued her own orders, “Redouble the effort! Dual Power Whip, and dual Psychic on the two, go!” she ordered, watching as the Bulbasaur renewed its whiplashing efforts; while the Metang continued to unload a burst of nearly-invisible psychic energy.
She could only watch in wonder as the two smaller ‘mons redoubled their own efforts, tanking and taking the hits without even backing down; and once the four had clashed together, a sudden flash of light caused the raven-haired girl to quickly cover her eyes with her hands—what was going on?! “Zan, Ariadne! Stand down!” she began, squinting as best as she could through the blinding light that was seemingly coming from the other two—and once the light show was over—there were two very different, bigger, more…menacing-looking Pokémon on Josh’s side of the field.
Seeing that she was going to be at a slight disadvantage now since he had two evolved ‘mons with him and she only had one (plus the other one on her side was still a baby for crying out loud) she then nodded to his proposition. “Fair enough. I think we’ve gotten enough done, hm?” she said towards her Bulbasaur and Metang’s direction, before chuckling and calling them back into their containment units. “Well, we can have another sparring session anyways, depends on what you’re going to bring out for practice. Right?” she remarked his way, before grinning and then saluting in his direction. For now, their little exchange was done.
