It was another cold winter’s day; even if there was no snow in Bayonada—the breeze that was blowing through the town was far colder than it normally should be. Knowing that he still had some extra containment units to use up in order to acquire more ‘minions’ to breed in order to fill up the stock of the Aquarium to a sufficient number, Kouji then began his trek once more—this time having taken copy of a list that his second boss had sent him; and boy was it an extremely long list. He’d printed it out and noticed that some of the names had already been crossed out; meaning they’d already acquired the species in question; and that more than half of them were his contributions.
Well, it’s the boon of someone who has three slots and nothing to do… so I tend to end up using them. Thankfully the person I mailed about borrowing his Goldeen was more than fine in agreeing to let me borrow the thing… because it’s got this weird Ability I swear I haven’t seen yet… he mused to himself as he then began walking around the area; wondering if he was going to get something drifting in on the waters; or on the surf. Alongside the list was his own little notes, edits and scribbling that he’d added not too long after he’d printed out the list; and boy were they ambitious plans for the future. Here’s to hoping I get a nice stream of business next week. That and I got some extra additional requests on the side… I want to help, somehow, he continued to muse to himself as he glanced up from the sheet from time to time.

Who knew that wading in the surf would get him to find something so early? Kouji looked up as the rather distracting flopping noise eventually reached his ears—and he then began to scan the area. He could only guess what on earth was causing aforementioned flopping noise, but as he returned his gaze to the list he was busy scratching notes on, the sound started up again! He then shook his head and this time looked around very carefully—before his gaze fell on something that made him recoil ever so slightly. He recognized the red, orange, yellow and white color scheme of the thing that was making the flopping, splashing noise—he already had one of these!
“What in the world…” he began, shaking his head as he watched the ‘Karp flop over and over, trying to catch its breath. He knew that this particular species of Water-types was avoided like the plague; but its evolution was one to be feared (for he had both before and after versions of the ‘Karp in his breeding grounds)—and sadly, after extensive checking and counter-checking, the ‘Karp was incapable of producing any noteworthy Egg Moves. “Not now, at least…” he muttered as he then changed directions, avoiding the incessant flopping noise—he didn’t know why, but it was getting to him; to be honest.

It didn’t take too long before the slapping noises had faded away; and that he’d finally managed to proceed forward. Little did he know that he was going to run into another bunch of weirdos—specifically, even more copies of Nuijappa along with the evolved form of them. As he continued to scratch down notes on the printed list, he then heard another noise—but instead of flopping and slapping; it was the bubbling kind; and it signaled that there was something approaching where he currently stood. “Uh-oh,” was all he had time for as he then pocketed the list; before scanning the area very carefully. He had an inkling that something bad was going to happen; and more often than not his hunches were usually correct!
The bubbling noises grew louder the closer he stepped to the edge of one of the city’s fishing spots, the more the hairs on the back of his neck prickled and stood up. There was a loud, deafening splash that echoed through the clearing—and with it, announced the arrival of several bipedal, blue-bodied, spiral-bellied tadpoles; along with the familiar form that he already had. He knew that he had to get at least a couple of them to the Aquarium; and that he needed a female one of Nuijappa’s kind so that he didn’t feel lonely. As his hands traveled to his pocket where his containment units were located, the Poliwhirls emerged from the water first; followed by three meek-looking Poliwags. There were seven in total; he then checked his pockets and then remembered he’d picked up a couple of the more expensive-looking containment units and then decided that the trip wasn’t going to be a complete waste after all.
“Alright, time to go use the ol’ divde and conquer strategy…” he muttered as he then plucked two particular containment units and sent out their occupants—the first burst of red light turned into his sassy male Wool ‘mon, Voima; while the second one turned into the Grovyle with the bent tail, ‘Mori. The two then caught sight of the seven and promptly had their eyes pop out of their sockets; shocked to see so many gathered together in such a small space. “Alright, guys, let’s divvy them up. I need… five of them, specifically. Let’s do this!” he began, and the two then gave their respective chirps and war cries. Over at where the Polis were now ‘holding session’, the four bigger ones then decided to split up into two groups of two, one group taking two of the smaller versions; while the other one protected the last young one.
Now that the Poli group had split evenly down the line, the two groups were now charging towards the Flaaffy and the Grovyle, intent on driving them away! “Oh, no you don’t,” he hissed, before pointing forward and beginning, “Voima! Charge up! Just keep charging and don’t do anything until they’re really close, okay?! ‘Mori, turn up the heat with your Sunny Day; and evade them as necessary! Use your Agility if you have to!” and the two out on the field tensed up—watching as the Poliwhirls then began unloading Bubblebeams in rapid succession, headed right towards the Grovyle. Now that there was imminent danger screaming his way, the Grovyle then calmed himself down; before quickly raising both his ‘paws’ to the sky; and a swath of light cut across the place; the sun had appeared! After the sudden flare of sunlight had caused both groups of Poliwhirls/wags to stop temporarily, the Grovyle then hunched down before quickly applying Agility on itself, letting him move faster than ever.
The group that had the two youngsters with them came ambling to a stop before the Flaaffy, who was still Charging up its power—a certain feeling of static began wafting from Voima; and Kouji could feel his own hair standing up as well due to the super-charged energy rippling from the Wool ‘mon. the two Poliwags then stepped forward; before quickly firing off what looked suspiciously familiar—they were Kouji’s most-hated attack; which was Hydro Pump! “Alright, Voima! Let loose with a Discharge! Make it two!” he shouted as he saw the two walls of water screaming in an arc in the sky; before falling down; seemingly headed towards the Flaaffy!
“FLAAAAAAAA!” he heard his Flaaffy cry out; before quickly releasing a flare of electricity so bright it went off like several flash-bang grenades exploding all at once. “GYAH!” the Breeder shouted, quickly covering his eyes with his hands—but that measure wasn’t even enough as the first Discharge rippled through the air, vaporizing the Hydro Pump hail dead in its tracks. The Flaaffy then proceeded to unload the second Discharge; and it flashed through the clearing; spreading far and wide—hitting even the group of Polis that the Grovyle was attempting to deal with.
Gah, that wasn’t exactly the best of moves; I really need a thicker pair of shades… he thought as he blinked as rapidly as he could; before shouting out his next orders, “Voima, Charge up again! Just keep charging and lash out with Discharge as needed! ‘Mori! If you can ehar me, unload a Solarbeam right now; let’s try to end the fight early! Before it drags out!” while rubbing his hands fervently against his eyes; because the after glare was just too much! With a sheepish look on his face, the Flaaffy then began to Charge up once again; while keeping an eye on the four Polis that were now teetering, trying to stay standing. The two ‘wags then unleashed another Hydro Pump barrage; while the ‘whirls continued to unload barrage after barrage of Bubblebeams; a vain attempt to repel the two that were trying to prise the incoming Grass and Electric ‘mons away from them!
The Grovyle then skittered to a stop before quickly releasing a condensed beam of solar energy and waving it in a wide swath; cutting across the group of ‘whirls and a ‘wag that it was trying to cut down; and for good measure—aimed the rest of the beam at the other group that his partner was having difficulty taking down. Now that there was another unearthly barrage of Water-types attacks screaming towards the Flaaffy; it then reacted without thinking; loosing another flare of electricity and joining together with the excess solar energy that was screaming towards the two ‘whirls and two ‘wags.
After all of the attacks had exploded in one big, brightly-lit flash bang-like mess; the Breeder finally looked up… to see that there were seven passed out Tadpoles; all smoking and in various stages of exhaustion. “Oops… that was too much…” he muttered as he then searched through his things and found that he still had several of the weird black marbles and the standard ones; before chucking four of the black Ultra Balls at the bigger versions; and one of them at a Poliwag.

As the five containment units began to shake, three pairs of eyes began to watch just what was going to happen. The four black containment units were shaking quite horribly; and he was half-expecting four bursts of light bursting out of them; raring for a continuation of the slaughter that had happened earlier. Thankfully, that did not happen; and as all five containment units went off with a ‘ding’, he then raised his hands out of relief, because there was no way in hell he was going to have another eye-cleansing session with the flash bang-like experience he’d just gone through.
“Alright, cool, you did an awesome job,” he began, crouching down and scooping up the five containment units and trying to balance them in his arms. The Grovyle and the Flaaffy then let out a cheer of delight; before immediately rushing towards him and very nearly bowling him over due to the force of their tackling! “Well, at least the Aquarium can have more denizens now,” he muttered with a grin as he then watched the containment units vanish; before recalling the two exhausted, but fulfilled ‘mons back to their containment units in order to let them rest. “Well done, you two. Well done,” he ended as he then turned around before quickly departing back to the Ranch.
