After stocking up on the requisite number of PokeBalls and getting his own ‘mons rested up and swapped out at Bayonada’s Pokémon Center, Kouji decided to return back to the beach front in order to continue searching for even more Water-types that he could use to breed more Aquarium stock for the Bubble Dome in Tyntill. He knew that he’d asked his assistant to take care of the next lined-up breeding request that was still for the Aquarium (except for the last time he could breed for the week, which he could handle himself) and that he would be the one to deliver the payload of eggs that had resulted from the breeding attempt; therefore leaving him free in order to be able to search for more Water-types.
He was originally leaning on specializing in Fighting-types, but now that he was officially associated with the Bubble Dome, he couldn’t help but be attracted to the Water-type as well. Looks like I better start taking notes on Egg Moves and all that… because Erin wants Water-types that have the coveted moves. I think I better call up my mentor regarding this little thing I’ve run into. I know that the Abilities can be found on those weird Swarms that appear at least three times a month; but… I need Water-types! Water-types! Not any other ‘mons! Well, maybe Fighting and Water-types… also Psychic… but yeah… he mused to himself as he retraced his steps back down to the surf; and could only wonder if he was going to start running into the same he’d seen earlier; but then saw that this was a perfect training opportunity to get Voima and ‘Mori up into shape.

Now that he was back and wading through the shallows once more, Kouji was keeping a sharp eye out for anything that would catch his eye. Hoping that he didn’t run into an angry band of screeching, snapping Carvanhas again (like the last time he’d gone fishing in the Sevii Islands) he kept a wary eye out for something that might come floating in unexpectedly on the surf. What he didn’t realize was that he was going to be encountering one of the weirdest Water-types ever—in a very unusual method. He’d already retraced his steps and was now walking along an unfamiliar patch of surf when he suddenly felt himself get showered from head to foot in a sudden burst of water! “What the hell?!” he shouted out of surprise as he then wildly looked around, whipping the slopping-wet bangs out of his face as he scanned the area, trying to pick out where the hell the sudden water blast had come from.
He was about to continue walking on when another torrential burst of water showered him from head to toe—was his unbelievably bad luck with a certain Water-type move back to haunt him? He then chanced to look down and saw that there was a floating… it was definitely something he’d seen in the Underwater Tunnel from Humilau to Undella (and vice versa) and it was apparently not pleased with him! “Alright, alright, geez, I’m backing away! S-sorry!” he managed to chatter out in the pink fish’s direction, because getting doused with water not just once but two times was just a bit too much for him! Now that he’d backed away a few paces, he then recognized what it was—a Unova native, known to have variations because they came in two colors. “Oh boy… well, you’re going to be asking for it…” he continued as he plucked out a particular containment unit and sent out his Flaaffy for the second time today.
“Flaaaa~?” he heard his male Flaaffy ask him, before he raised a soaked hand and pointed forward. “Try to short that thing out. Look at me, I’m soaked!” he groaned, indicating that his entire body had been unceremoniously doused not just once, but twice, with what he suspected to be the attack that would forever haunt him until the end of his days. “Fla-FLAA?!” he heard the Electric sheep mutter out loud, before shaking his head and then facing forward—because the pink Frillish had unleashed another torrent of water; another Hydro Pump! What had caused it to literally go off its rocker, he would never know. Now that there was a huge burst of water headed his way, he then blurted without thinking, “Catch it in the middle with a Discharge!” before quickly retreating further to the shore and slipping on a pair of shades, because he knew how much of a flash-bang grenade Discharge was like.
The pink Wool ‘mon then let out its battle cry, before seemingly staying still—and then suddenly unleashing an explosion of Electric energy that flashed through the clearing—and even if Kouji had his shades on, the resulting after-images were still scorched onto his retinas, even if he was wearing his shades. The torrent of water that was Hydro Pump exploded violently upon contact with the Discharge and forced the Flaaffy back—but it did the same to the Frillish as well. After shaking his head and clearing out the after glare from his eyeballs, the Breeder looked up again and saw that the Flaaffy was still standing. “Alright, get your electricity powered up with Charge; then use Discharge once more!” while still glowering at the stunned-looking Frillish; how in the hell did its torrent of water suddenly vanish?!
Visibly annoyed the pink jellyfish-like creature then rounded once again on the Flaaffy and quickly sent out rapid successions of Bubblebeams; alternating the direction of each incoming blast. He knew that his Flaaffy was in a dangerous situation while Charging up; but a few moments later another sudden burst of Electric energy ripped through the space, not only shooting down all of the incoming Bubblebeam attacks that the Frillish was firing off in order to repel the incoming invaders; but it had also extended out and reached aforementioned pink fish! He heard a loud squeal of pain as the electricity hummed through the Water-type’s body, but knowing that this particular Frillish was going to be a pain and try to drown him again in another wall of water, he continued, “Voi, turn up the electric power! Dishcarge again while it’s stunned!”
“FLAAAAAA!” came the reply, and after charging up a few moments, let loose with another brilliant burst of Electric energy, that did a number and ripped through the clearing. He heard the pained squealing once more; and after the third application had subsided, found the Frillish floating right-side up, passed out due to sustaining so many electric shocks. “Well, that’s that…” he muttered as he plucked out another containment unit and chucked it at the Water-type.

As the containment unit rocked once, twice, then three times—it came to a stop. He then blinked, before scooping it up and then giving a nod to the Flaaffy, who was bent over double and trying to catch his breath. He then noticed that the containment unit had disappeared—but not before a loud cawing noise came from overhead and tried to dive-bomb him! “Oh, they did not just…!” he shouted as he literally dived into the surf; realizing a few seconds too late where he’d landed. Spitting and hissing mad like a cat as he came up for air (and his eyes were assaulted by the extremely salty sea water) he then shook the water out of his face as best as he could, and looked towards the source of where the screeching noise was coming from—it was some sort of sea gull! “The hell was that for…?” he trailed off, shaking his head a bit harder than usual—for he could feel a weird, sloshy sensation echoing in his ears as he did so.
The Flaaffy was bristling; all tensed up and ready for battle, but he decided that the bird wasn’t worth chasing—at least for now. “Hey, Voima. Calm down, steady there, big guy,” he continued, trying to placate the pissed-off Electric-type, because he’d seen what the circling avian had done to his master. “We’re here for the Water-types, not that one. Leave ‘im alone. I’m pretty sure that it was some kind of accident,” he continued in his best soothing voice, and the enraged Flaaffy slowly, but surely calmed down before turning back to face him, wondering if he was okay. “Come on, let’s go. We have to keep searching for more of the fishies,” he added, and with a tremendous effort, the Flaaffy then followed him as he continued to walk down the shoreline, keeping a sharp eye out for any more drifting Water-types that might get washed ashore due to the surf lapping at the sand.

After barely managing to get the aggravated Flaaffy calmed down, it was time to continue their search! Who knew that the two would encounter the singular version of the plural…horde that they’d encountered not too long ago as they continued to walk in the surf—the Flaaffy choosing to waddle along on the sand, while the Breeder himself was walking knee-deep in the surf. “Man, if I didn’t have a lot of requests to arrange this week, I’d be down and out in the water right now, swimming to my heart’s content,” he said with a wistful sigh on his face. The Flaaffy was mucking around in the sand, enjoying himself—it was rare to get times like these to just play around, not worry about anything at all. The little scene of contentment would be shattered, however…as something came in on the surf.
He had to blink several times as he caught sight of something…pink wading in on the shallows; and he very nearly did a double-take; wasn’t this the same one that he’d captured just earlier? “Wait a second. Is it mating season yet? What’re you doing all the way out here?” he asked the Alomomola; having been familiarized with it by this point. “Look, I have no intention of fighting you; I’m here on other business… so… yeah. Go back out into the deeper waters and look for your mates,” he said, before slowly but surely letting the weird Caring ‘mon float back out in the surf, out to deeper waters. The Flaaffy, at this point in time had already gone some ways ahead; and then turned back, wondering where his master was.
“Alright, alright, I’m coming, Voi,” he continued with a sheepish chuckle, as he continued to plod through the surf, in an attempt to catch up to the Wool ‘mon that was waiting for him some ways away.

After skirting around the weird pink fish, both human and Pokémon continued to walk down the shoreline, looking around for something good to take home. Kouji was just about ready to turn around and head back to the Ranch when yet another thing washed up on the surf… it was something he’d never seen before, at the very least. He then closed his eyes and trying to remember if he’d seen it in the Underwater Tube back in his hometown. Almost a minute had passed before he snapped them open once again; and then shook his head—this fish in front of him was definitely nothing that he’d seen, at least if Unova-specific Water-types were concerned. “In any case, you’re mine,” he began, watching as the little weird striped Water-type then snapped to attention before shrouding itself in a veil of who-knew-what.
“Alright, this one means business… Voi, let’s get ‘im… or ‘er, and get out of here and go home!” he began, backing away, scrambling back up to the sand; before letting the Wool ‘mon walk forward. “Let’s start things off with a Charge. Just keep charging up until I give you the signal to unload, okay?” and the bipedal sheep then nodded, before letting out a battle cry. The electricity began to surge around his fur, and Kouji felt the static crackling in the air—he knew that the longer his Flaaffy held it in, the higher the chance more static electricity would crackle through the air. In response, the Finneon then whipped up its own veil…of water. This was something that the Breeder was familiar with, having seen some of the other Water-types perform it; and recognized what it was.
“Oh, crap. Guess we have to switch tactics… Voi, Confuse Ray now!” he shouted, and the Wool ‘mon would stop charging up its power to release a brilliant flash of light; catching the little weird Water-type by surprise as the Confuse Ray went off like a flash-bang grenade full to the face. Now that it had been successfully Confused, he then nodded before addressing the Flaaffy, “Alright, Voi. Continue charging up again…” and the Wool ‘mon then went back to collecting more Electric energy in order to boost the power of the attack that he knew that his master would ask him to fling once he was charged up high enough (if there was such a term). Over at where the Finneon was, it then tried to shake off the woozy feeling of getting Confused at such short-range; and attempted to swim forward, trying to launch a U-Turn attack out of the water.
The Finneon did manage to get the U-Turn, and it came flying out of the water. However, it had suddenly taken a dip and crashed back into the surf; due to the fact that it had hit itself instead of the target. Kouji knew that there was little chance left to capitalize on the time that one was confused, and therefore pointed forward, before saying the magic words that were music to his Flaaffy’s ears, “Unload it all in a great big Discharge, now!” and the Wool ‘mon responded with pleasure. He then remembered to dig around and fish out his shades and slapped them on as fast as he could; right then and there the Wool ‘mon unleashed the brightest flash of Electric energy it could ever muster, reaching well beyond the field where the Water-type was located.
“Arrrgh, alright this is both a good and bad idea…” he muttered as he then looked away—but even as he did so, the flash of electricity was so bright, it left a rather deep impression on his already-shut eyelids, even behind the shades’ protection. As he then shook his head to clear the images, he then saw an inert Water-type floating on the surf, and then hissed, before tossing an empty containment unit at it. “Err, maybe that was too much charging, Voi,” he ended with a sheepish tone in his voice.

After the containment unit (that was floating on the surface of the water) went off with a loud dinging noise, the Breeder then proceeded to chase after it, catching it before the thing went off into deeper waters. As he then scooped up the ball before watching it get teleported off to the PC, he then turned back to face the Flaaffy, who was now waiting for him to get back to the shore. It was slow going, but several waterlogged minutes later he made his return; before kneeling down and giving the Wool ‘mon a hug. “Thanks for all the great work you did out here today. For now, we rest. We’ll return in a few days… you need to recover,” he said, cuddling the Flaaffy who responded in kind—but eventually made his hair all stand up on end.
“Heh, keep forgetting you love discharging static electricity…” he added a few moments later with a sheepish chuckle as he felt his hair beginning to defy gravity. He then plucked out the Wool ‘mon’s containment unit and recalled him in a flash of red light, before looking out at the sunset that was now dipping across the sky and turning the ocean into a medley of fiery colors, sparkling across the water. “Yep. Good job today, indeed,” he ended with a grin on his face as he then turned around and made his way back up from the beach, returning to the Ranch so that he could brew the next few plans on what he needed to breed next for the Aquarium in Tyntill.
