EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.
Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. If you find yourself content with being an asshole EPOCH and its members will not tolerate you.

Understand We're All Human. Respect the staffers as well as your fellow members and guests. We all have flaws, tempers and quirks. Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

New Year, New Me? Bleh. But Josh knew one thing that he needed to do. He needed two more dragon types in order to complete his experiment, but there had been one that had seriously eluded him until now, and that was Deino. Deino was a rare Pokemon, it's evolutionary form, Hydrogion, was known to many as a "Pseudo-Legendary". Ironically, it was also the only "Pseudo-Legendary" that Josh had yet to catch the line of, besides the aforementioned other dragon type, Goomy. Josh owned a Dragonite, a Pupitar, Bagon, Beldum, and Gible. His mission as part of this experiment was almost complete... But somehow, the end seemed to elude him at every turn. He had sunk plenty of money in order to take several trips to this one zone, hunting down a Pokemon that not even Izumi could help him with. Here... He knew he was all alone, he had to pull this off on his own if he was going to accomplish his mission. His goal for so long now had been to catch, raise and train, and get to experience amazing adventures with as many different Pokemon as possible, of different shapes and sizes. The dragons and psuedo legendaries were a big part of that mission.
After handing in his pass to the gatekeeper and taking his Safari Ball, Josh would trudge into Zone 5, hell bent on completing this mission. It was going to be a test of luck and skill. He just hoped he had both. With his partner, Lightning, by his side, he felt nearly unstoppable. But the question would be, as they trudged through this cave together, side by side, fighting as one... Would luck be in their favor? It hadn't been in the past with this particular cave, for sure. But Josh took it as a challenge. A challenge he would complete by all means necessary.

It didn't take the duo long to find what they were seeking though, as a Deino would poke it's head out of a bundle of rocks nearby the entrance. "Pika!" Lightning chirped, pointing toward it. He knew what a Deino was, and he knew his Trainer was looking for one! "Hey, a Deino!" Josh said, accidentally spooking it. By the sound of it's cry, Josh could tell it was a female. While not exactly what he was seeking to the letter, a Deino was a Deino. Still, Deino had been spooked and it wasn't happy as it would fire a.... Roar?
Lightning would suddenly be returned to his Pokeball. "Huh?" Josh let out as Gustave, his Bulbasaur would be brought out instead. "Bulba!" Gustave let out, seeming primed and ready for battle. "Alright Gustave, use Power Whip!" Josh would command. "Bulba!" Gustave would let out as vines would erupt from his bulb, slamming into the Deino again and again. The Deino would use Work-Up, and Josh was sensing the possibility of it getting ready for a big attack.
"Hurry Gustave, before it works itself into a frenzy!" Josh said, pointing toward it. "Use Double Edge!" He commanded. "Bulba, Bulba, BULLLLLLLBAAAAAA!" Gustave let out as he would charge full speed toward Deino, who would use Work Up again! Of course, this opened it up to be hit dead on!
"Why in the hell isn't it attacking?" Josh would question. It HAD to be preparing for some kind of big move, so Josh would press on. "You alright, Gustave?" Josh would ask his Bulbasaur as the Bulbasaur was hit by recoil. "Bulba!" Gustave would answer with a nod. Suddenly, Deino would let out a Roar, returning Gustave to his Pokeball!
"Oh damnit, not again!" He muttered, before the next one that came out was... Fawkes!
Who was sleeping.
The Deino would stare up at the Charizard, before it's mischievous side, despite it not having any attack moves, kicked in as it stomped on the Charizard's foot. ".... Oh fuck" Josh mumbled as the Charizard's eyes would open wide and he snarled down at the Deino that had dared intrude on his sleep! "I'm... Not even going to help you" Josh said, taking extra care to step away from the angry Charizard as it's claws would suddenly turn purple and it would punt the Deino a good couple yards and into a wall, before flying at it and hitting it with the prepped Dragon Claw in mid-air, down-cutting it into the ground!
"Hey, Fawkes? I think it's suffered enough" Josh said, scratching his head. The Deino would go for a Scary Face, but Fawkes didn't seem phased as he would divebomb it with Flame Charge, hitting it dead on. "Fawkes? I think that's enough" Josh would say, with a sigh. "Seriously, Fawkes. It didn't stomp on your foot that hard!"
The attack move-less Deino would, despite how weak and beaten up it was at this point, would use Focus Energy, before realizing it's turmoil and running for it's life. The Charizard would hear none of it, and go for Earthquake, sending Deino flying into the wall, beaten and battered.
Josh would let out an audible wince, tossing the Safari Ball at it...

The blonde took a deep breath as the ball would click and it was clear that Deino had been caught! "Alright!" He said as he would pick up the Safari Ball and attach it to his belt. "I mean... Sure, I'm not so happy about how I did it..." He admitted, looking over at Fawkes who was obviously looking around for another fight. "But... We did catch Deino" He said. "Alright Fawkes, return" Josh would add as he would finally decide to call back his grumpy Charizard. "And please... No more trouble. Seriously, you've been a pain lately" He would say to the Pokeball with a sigh. What had gotten into Fawkes lately? Josh would scratch his head in confusion over why his Charizard had been behaving like this.
Finally, he heard the bell ring. It was time to go, it seemed. His time was up. Not like he had anything to do now that his Safari Ball had been used anyway. The blonde would head back, happy to see his collection was almost complete...
. . . !
