There was a rather large lake in the city of Tyntill (or was it spelled Tynntill, who knew) and word had gotten out that there was going to be some sort of “wish-granting” festival taking place later in the day, and that it was something most definitely worth checking out. Wondering if Josh was going to be dropping by much later, Izumi then decided to head out in order to check the festival—she’d only come from Shui, having checked up on a little scuffle that had erupted regarding getting supplies for the restaurant that she was managing (not to mention she had a pile of fliers with her right now, ripe for giving away) and was looking around, trying to scout out a place where she could start handing out the sheafs of paper.
After all, Shui is just, what, one train ride away from this place? Or a quick drive? I don’t know, I just want to get word out, she mused to herself as she then casually, extremely discreetly began placing fliers here and there on some of the tables, hoping that people would pick them up and check it out. She’d had the fliers printed a few days prior, and she currently had the first batch with her (she’d already mailed a stack to a certain Ranch in Bayonada, to distribute as he would find appropriate) and was hoping to take it out on a test run. Ahh, nothing better than tending to the other things while trying to figure out a way to get that blasted knowledge… she continued as she discreetly left some fliers here and there; not looking back at the places where she’d already left them for the public to see.
Now, where was Josh, and what was taking him so long to get here…?

There was apparently a supposedly large lake in the city of Tyntill, and word had very quickly spread that there was going to be some sort of “wish-granting” festival taking place later in the day, and that it was something... Well, worth checking out, for sure. Previously, it had been in Lilycove, but for some reason it had been moved. Izumi had wanted to go previously, but it got moved and she had forgotten, by the looks of it. Josh had given her a call earlier today after finding out it was today to see if the ever-forgetful Izumi still wanted to go.
But since it was a train ride away from the meeting place, Josh had agreed to meet her somewhere. And like she had said on the phone, there were fliers... Well, everywhere. It didn't take long for Josh to follow the White Flier Road to find Smelly Zuzu. Eventually finding her, the blonde would tap her on the shoulder... And Lightning would imitate him by doing the same. And yes, Lightning had tagged along. Couldn't go to a festival without him, right?
"You set to go, Smellzy?" He teased cheekily with a small smile. Seems he was feeling better now at least.

Izumi was still busy leaving fliers everywhere she could manage when she felt not just one, but two taps on the back, causing her to turn around and almost sending the fliers out of her hands! “What the?!” she began initially, almost jumping a mile—but seeing that it was just Josh and Lightning, who were there, waiting for her to turn around and see their presence. “Hey, can it with the smelly jokes, man, that’s getting old,” she retorted with a smirk on her face as she then finished off the current stack of fliers that she had with her. “I was just advertising, as you see,” she continued, handing him the very last one; the better for him to take a look at what she was doing before he’d gotten there.
“Of course I’m ready to go. I just had to finish giving away the fliers. Now we can poke around the place and see what they’re up to… rumor has it you have to gather the flowers yourself from one of the fields near the lake somewhere and make it into a wreath of some sort…?” she volunteered, having overheard some of the organizers who were scurrying around and shouting instructions for everyone gathered. “We have to write the wishes later before setting them afloat on the wreaths… and then that happens as the sun sets and night falls… why they chose that time I’ll never understand,” she ended with a grin, before silently approaching him and then sizing herself up. “Hey, wait a second…” she started up again, before squinting up at him.
Was it just her, or had she gotten taller…?
She would continue to go around Josh, trying to pick out if he was wearing platform boots, or if she was just tricking herself. She knew that she was wearing flat shoes for today, and then checked by looking down, before holding a hand above her head and then measuring just how…far she’d gotten in terms of height. “Am I seeing things, or did I gain a few inches in height…” she trailed off, still measuring and trying to ascertain her displacement.

The blonde laughed, as did the Pikachu, at Izumi's reaction to being surprised by their entrance. "Well, hello there" He teased playfully with a smirk. To her response, he chuckled. "Aww, are the jokes really getting old already?" He would ask. "Alright, I'll leave them be for now. I'll think of something else to call you... Like the World's Worst Ninja. Or Booty Shorts Zuzu" He would tease, in response to a certain event where Izumi had... Well, shown the goods and almost gotten them all killed as a result. The latter being because of her booty shorts or because she had decided to attack a guard for no reason though, is... Debatable.
He would nod a bit, listening to her speak. "Of course, we can do that" He said with a small smile. "We can go whenever you're ready to, of course. We're all set"
He started laughing when Izumi started getting sketchy about getting taller. "I think you did" He said, smirking as he looked her up and down. "Unfortunately for you, so did I. I'm 6'2 now" He cracked, laughing.

“I…. I think I’d prefer the Booty Shorts over the Ninja, at any rate,” she began, reaching up and attempting to whack him across the side of the head at that remark. She then noticed that he’d given her what appeared to be the elevator look—only for him to remark something that made her whack him once again across the other side of his head. “Stop growing taller, you crazy man, how the hell am I supposed to reach you now,” she continued, before eventually giving up and just planting a grin on her face. Now that they were here, she then pointed over at the fields near one side of the lake. “So… we have to go there first and get the flowers. Then we come back here once we’ve got enough, and make a wreath out of them,” she remarked, before quickly taking the lead and weaving her way through the crowds of people who were now starting to gather as well.
She continued to look over her shoulder just to make sure that he was still following her, because the closer she wound on the path headed towards the place where the flowers were growing, the more and more people were apparently converging on the spot and starting to get the same idea of gathering the flowers that they could cart back in order to begin fashioning wreaths and the like. “Come on, hurry up before all the good flowers are taken,” she called out to him, finally reaching the vast expanse of field and seeing that there were people already searching for nice flowers to add to whatever they were going to make. She then began to look around, trying to pick out something that stood out to her eye—looking for the right kind of flowers was just as taxing as growing them, it seemed.

The blonde snickered, just a tad. "Or Booty Shorts Ninja" He cracked cheekily, wrapping an arm around her playfully. "Hey, you tease me with names all the time. It's only fair" He teased, poking her nose. "Beep" he added with a grin. Despite all that happened at Richissime, like the revelation of Josh's... Darker side, he seemed to be chipper, and even seemed to be teasing Izumi like he used to when they'd first met. It was a refreshing sight for sure, though if Izumi thought that; was a mystery. He playfully swatted her away when she whacked at him for being taller then her. "Hey, it's not my fault you're the size of a Smurf" He teased, playfully ruffling Izumi's hair. And with that, he would follow her as she talked about flowers. And flowers. And flowers.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm not far behind" He said when she was constantly checking on him within the crowds. "Do you need me to hold your hand so you don't lose me?" He teased with a bat of the eyelashes.

“I am NOT the size of a blue thing that has an incredibly large nose!” she began, retorting back as fast as he’d whipped out the Smurf comment, attempting to reach up and give him another whack upside the head, but completely missing and hitting thin air instead. This, of course, happened before she took the lead and headed down the way, hoping to be able to score some of the good flowers before they were all taken. At his last retort though, she stopped dead cold in a patch of field that had already been picked clean of flowers, and didn’t turn around for a few moments. The reason why she didn’t turn around was because she could feel her ears burning their hottest; and her mind was going a mile a minute.
Did you literally just say that to tease me, or is there another meaning to it?! She mused to herself, still unable to bring herself to turn around and face him directly. She knew that if she didn’t think of an ample retort in time, he’d seize the opportunity to not stop making fun of her; so she then whipped around as fast as she could manage while balancing on heel of her foot, folding her arms as she faced him. She then stared at him, before finally speaking up, “Did you really just say that to taunt me, or is there another hidden meaning to your words?” and looking rather unfazed at the latest dose of sassing that she’d received from him, complete with batting of eyelashes. On his visage, that particular action didn’t look too nice; in fact it was outright weird, borderline creepy—but she didn’t dare say that out loud.
She kept her hands folded across her chest, while still giving him this rather…scrutinizing look; without making it turn into her own attempt at a “withering glare” (which she had a lot of practice of; mostly with a certain figure who was most probably gallivanting in the afterlife now, unless that individual still had some unfinished business and was lingering as a shade on this world).
WORDS 354 TAGSJosh Dragomir NOTESOoohh, you actually got her thinking.

"Are you sure about that, Smurfette?" He would tease as he poked her nose again. "Looks like a smurf to me, you're just lacking the blue" He teased with a cheeky grin. Afterword, he and Lightning would quickly go searching for flowers best they could. Of course, they continued to find nothing, but would look back at her when Izumi would decide to address the teasing crack about holding her hand.
He chuckled when she confronted him, and shrugged. The eyelash batting, as well as what he had said, had been a joke of course, teasing her. Of course...
"Honestly, it was a joke" He admitted flatly. "Buuuut if you want..." He began cheekily as he would hold his hand out to Izumi. If there was a hidden meaning... Well, I suppose we'd have to find out later, wouldn't we? Lightning meanwhile found this hilarious, and started laughing in his Pika-language. Still, Josh's hand was offered.

“Hey!” she began, attempting to smack his hand away as he had a pass at poking her nose. While it wasn’t too hard (in fact it was more of a gentle tap) the fact remained that he was now on a roll and it was going to be impossibly hard to stop his teasing once he’d gotten started. While he went to look for flowers, she’d gone and done the same—however, she didn’t have that much luck either and came up with nothing. After managing to corner and confront him, and having him admit that he was mostly teasing, a little part of her died inside—because she was hoping that he’d meant it, but who knew if he really did? She couldn’t read anyone’s mind, that’s for sure, but she could take a guess by reading their facial expressions; but even she was a bit bad at it.
Izumi was torn on two things: would she remain as standoffish as ever, and refuse the proffered hand; or would she just go ahead and take a risk and just grab it? Her train of thoughts was suddenly interrupted by Lightning, who was now chuckling in his Pokémon language at the entire scene. She didn’t know whether to think if he was just joking around, or if he really was serious about that. Either way, the hand was still extended, and she was literally unable to make a decision—when some impulsive reaction made her go forward and grab his hand and then pulled him along. “Well, let’s go look deeper in the fields for more flowers… and talk, if you want,” she began, leading the way—and not facing him; simply because her face had broken out into a full-on blush once again and her ears were literally burning as red as they humanly could; thankfully her long hair hid her ears from visible sight!
WORDS 316 TAGSJosh Dragomir NOTESYou're making her think even more. Omg why.

After some hand smacking and some hesitation, Izumi would finally decide to take his hand. He would smile and shrug, seeming pleased about these developments. The blonde would trudge forward along with her, like he had a choice anyway, she was pulling him right along at top speed! He had noticed her not looking at him, and he was tempted to speak out. Of course, if it weren't for the fact that Josh was better at hiding a blush, he'd be just as bad as she was. He'd learned to hide his emotions a little better back in Kohaku, and it was mainly a habit now. When your opponent, or in his case, an assailant, didn't know what you were thinking, the bigger your advantage, and the smaller their advantage. Of course, Izumi wasn't an opponent. Or an assailant.
Finally, they would come to a field of red flowers, and Josh would sit on his knees to try and find the best one he could. Of course, this one in particular wasn't for a wrath, because he would pick one of the red flowers and gently tuck it into Izumi's hair! Perhaps this was some kind of peace offering for teasing her? Regardless, afterword he'd go to pick more for the wreath.

She didn’t care if she was dragging him along (and if Lightning was managing to keep up at her rather shocking pace) but she could definitely hear footsteps stumbling, struggling to match her pace! As they came to a place that was full of red blossoms, she then let go of his hand and began searching. With the color of the flowers attracting her to them, she began to gather up the nice-looking blossoms in her hand; only stopping for a few moments as she saw that he’d only gotten a single flower so far. “Aw, come on, you expect to make a wreath with just one—“ she trailed off, before noticing that the single flower he’d plucked was now resting in her hair!
What’s he up to… okay, girl, calm down, stop, don’t blush… don’t blush… she chastised herself; but for all the mental berating she was doing, her external actions were starting to betray themselves. Izumi then felt the beginnings of a blush creep up on her face; what had made him do this? She didn’t understand if there was any motive (but if there was, who knew if it would happen now, or later) and then blinked, before watching him retreat in order to pick more flowers. Seeing as she had an armload with her right now, she then began to sort through them, keeping the flowers that would bloom as the day went on and leaving the ones that were already in full blossom—because the later the buds opened, the more beautiful the effect would be.
“Uhhm…” she began, returning her attention to the flowers that she now held in her left hand, “I wanted to ask… what made you do that? In Shalour?” she trailed off, hoping to break the potentially awkward silence that had built up between them.

A lot was running through the blonde's mind. A lot of emotions, a lot of questions, and a lot of uncertainties. How he felt about Izumi... He was uncertain. Unsure. His actions were instinctual, they were his actions yes... But it was like a hand, a set of fingers but yet a spectral one, guiding him... Guiding his actions, his words. Perhaps in a matter of time, he could make; mayhaps, a lick of sense of it?
These thoughrs ran through his head as he would continue to pick flowers. Lightning, the Pikachu, would hop off of his shoulder to start picking flowers as well, trying to help as best he could. The Pikachu just wanted to help after all, and maybe picking flowers could be fun? "Pika Pika Pikachu~" Lightning chirped cheerfully as he would keep picking flowers. This was actually sort of fun!
Josh would turn to Izumi. "Hm?" He answered when she would ask her question. "Pray, what did I do in Shaolur?"

Now that she had a smaller, more presentable bunch of flowers in her left hand, she was about to bend over and pluck some more for preliminary examination when she heard him address her; like he’d not done anything wrong. Her brows then knit themselves together, more out of bewilderment rather than shock, and she then stood up and then turned around to face him. “You… you forgot?” she began, looking down at the armload of red flowers in her hand, before continuing, “That disaster of an attempt right after I recalled Ry back and ended the whole thing. You literally went into that noxious cloud?! Were you crazy?!What if you keeled over and died because of that…” and huffing a rather impatient sigh afterwards. What he did was crazy yes, not to mention borderline suicidal… but… then again… she mused to herself as she then turned her attention back to the flowers.
She then crouched down and then looked at the flowers, before blinking away the tears that suddenly began to well up at the edge of her vision as she remembered the second defeat she’d faced; a rather trouncing one at that too. “I… I don’t know why the fuck we were faced with that, it was like there was a counter for our every turn, a block for our every strategy… why don’t they want us to win? What is it with them being really unconditionally nasty people with second-timers… pray, third-timers if ever?!” she continued, biting her lower lip as she tried not to burst out into tears and make a fool out of herself in front of him.
Instead, she proceeded to busy herself with searching for more flowers, grabbing any unopened blooms and adding it to the pile that was building up in her left hand.

Josh would casually glance over at Izumi as started to bend over, just subtlely peeking. Of course, this attempt would be stopped by Izumi suddenly whipping over in response to him answering her question. "Oh, that" the blonde would answer as his mind went back to the Tower fiasco. He would let out a sigh, and smile faintly as he would get up, reaching down and running his fingers through the fur of his Pikachu, with Lightning letting out an affectionate "Chaaa~" in response. "Lightning was in danger, and a Pokeball wasn't going to save him, nor were they going to let up just because the battle was over" he explained. "I refused to let Lightning be poisoned for my inability to locate him and return him to his Pokeball in time" he stated. "I did what any sensible Trainer that cares about his Pokemon would do, Izumi. Nothing more"
He would nod afterword. "I agree. It felt a bit.. Fixed. It didn't feel like a battle, more like a punishment" he would admit as he continued to pick flowers. "We learned more from ourselves then the ones who claim to be wise"

It didn’t take too long for Josh to catch on in regards to what she was referring to; but by this point in time the tears were already pouring down her face, even if she didn’t want them to. I don’t know. It feels like we were cheated and walled up, forced to admit defeat even before we could make a choice or even get things started… she mused to herself as she then began rubbing her eyes surreptitiously with her right hand; hoping that he wouldn’t notice. “I wonder if there really is a way for us to get it without having to go through a truckload of jerks who’re thirsty for battle… like, explain how it’s activated. Just plain and simple explain how the hell it’s done,” she continued, trying to hide the sniffles in her voice by reaching for more flowers and inspecting them, but only plucking the ones that had yet to fully open.
“Sometimes I’m thinking if it’s still worth chasing the darned thing down. If I know, you and I are the ones with the biggest collection of pretty marbles and rainbow rocks, but without any damned idea on how they work together… why can’t we just do it via trial and error is anyone’s honest guess,” she muttered, trying to veil the disappointment in her voice; while inspecting the flowers that she’d gathered and began separating the ones that were fully bloomed form the ones that hadn’t exactly opened to full flower yet. After a few more moments of silence, she then straightened up and then wiped her face with her right hand, before turning to where she presumed Josh was facing—or gathering flowers, and then continued, “Hey, if you have enough, we can go back to the gathering spot and start constructing the wreaths that we’ll send out over the water later…”
