Seeing as she was invited to a “formal” affair by none other than Josh, Izumi had decided to dress up just a bit more formally than she’d normally would. Deciding that the red dress she’d worn to Richissime would be a nice touch to wear again, she then wiggled her way into it; and of course, the biker shorts were back with a vengeance. There was no way in hell she was going to be flashing anyone by complete and total accident; even if she wanted to on purpose, she still had some sense of modest dignity.
She then remembered that she was going to be bringing over additional desserts for the Dragomirs, and after some haggling with the head chef of the pastry section of the café, she’d finally managed to wrangle away two cakes. The first cake she’d selected was the Lavaridge Chocolate Surprise; while the other one was a Drunken Strawberry Delight. She could only scratch her head and wonder what had caused their chef to try and experiment with alcoholic mixes for the strawberry cake she’d carted away, but she’d find out later eventually once they’d sampled the entire thing.
Knowing that she was coming on such short notice, she decided to take the fastest route to Littleroot—by calling for Sora the moment she’d stepped out of the café, all presentable and ready. “Brav?” the Valiant ‘mon began, after emerging from the flash of red light and looking at her quite curiously, because she was balancing two boxes in her hands.
Thankfully, he’d mentioned that they also had a PC over at their place, so retrieving her Christmas present for him was a simple matter. Once she’d hoisted herself on the Braviary and gave the directions in order to be able to get to Littleroot, they took off and went right into the sky. Normally, at a leisurely speed the Braviary would’ve arrived at Littleroot in around two, maybe three hours; but since this was a last-minute invitation, they were literally flying as fast and as far as the Brav would go.
Sometime later, they had eventually landed at the outskirts of Littleroot, Izumi looking all windswept and the Braviary ruffling his own feathers as he came in for a three-point landing. After recalling the Valiant ‘mon, she then set the two boxes down and then tried to fix her hair as best as she could; before picking up the two boxes and heading over to the Dragomir ranch proper.
Once she’d arrived at the designated area, she then looked up at the camera that was monitoring visitors coming in and out of the place, and waved at it, before ringing the doorbell.

The fact Izumi hinted to WANTING to flash someone was suspicious indeed, but what can ya do? Regardless, Josh was helping his mother with the cooking for the Christmas dinner. With dad gone, she needed all the help she could get. Of course, Josh wasn't much of a cook. I mean, he spent his whole life learning to make Pokemon food, and learning to survive on basics, how was he supposed to know how to fucking make extravagant luxuries like this? He didn't usually eat much in terms of luxury, the best he ate was either when he visited home, or visited Izumi in Lavaridge. Speaking of, Josh wasn't home very much, he knew this. Hopefully, that would be fixed when they moved to Nue. And speaking of Izumi, he was still waiting for the red-dress-wearing, booty-short-flashing girl to arrive. He still had to prepare her Christmas gift as well. He just hope she liked it.
Eventually though, Izumi would arrive and his mother would ask him to go and greet her. Josh would open the door and smile a bit. "Hey there" He said, looking her over before letting her in. "So, are you wearing the biker booty shorts under that dress as well?" He joked cheekily. He would take a few of the things she was carrying in terms of food and help haul it into the kitchen.

She thought she’d be stuck outside, waiting until sunset—when the front gates creaked open, a signal that she was allowed entry. Knowing the drill by now, she then made her way over to the front door—where Josh was already waiting; a somewhat harried look on his face. “Heh, you look a bit…surprised to see me,” she began, before slipping out of the flats that she’d wore and leaving them in the entryway, before making a beeline towards the pair of house slippers that were left out for the guests. Finding the one pair that suited her feet (did it have some form of memory foam or something? Who knew) and wiggling her toes in quite comfortably, he then divested her arms of the two boxes; and was secretly thankful that even though they were in a hurry, her Braviary flew as straight as an arrow without dropping her off his back.
“Alright, Sora, come back in… it’s just for a while, I’ll let you loose out on the grounds proper out back in a bit, okay?” she reassured the Braviary, who then willingly let himself be recalled into the containment unit, before she popped it down to a smaller, more compact size. Just how the hell was she able to lug around her PokeBalls while wearing the same red number she’d worn in Kalos? It was easy: she had a handbag hanging from her left hand the entire time! Chuckling as she then made her way to sit down on the rather plush sofa that decorated the living room, she then looked around—the place was rather unique in its sense of decoration—with the table in front of her half-crammed with research papers and the like.
She suspected that his mother worked even while relaxing, and that she really needed a rest! A few moments later, she was unable to resist, so she called out, “Uhhh, Josh? Mrs. Dragomir? Do you need my help in the kitchen over there?”

WORDS 332 TAGSJosh Dragomir NOTESMaking herself comfortable...derp
Post by Josh Dragomir on Dec 28, 2014 1:27:57 GMT -5
Well, Josh hadn't taken that long really. I mean, did you think he'd really let crimson dress stay out there in the cold weather? Think about it, lady. "Surprised? Nah, just wasn't expecting you to show up in your booty shorts dress" He joked cheekily with a grin as he would take the boxes to the kitchen. Izumi would hear growling, and Josh would look over to see an Arcanine growling at Izumi, obviously being wary of her. "Arcanine, stop growling at our guest!" Serena yelled from the kitchen. Arcanine would whimper before heading into the kitchen with his tail between his legs, curling up under the table like a dog.
"Sorry about that..." Josh said, scratching his head. "That's my mom's Arcanine. He used to live at the house, but since mom never gets to go home anymore, she recently moved him here to live with her. He's not used to people coming in for services and all, so he growls a lot and he gets wary. He'll warm up to you" He said with a small smile as he headed into the kitchen.
"Of course, Izumi, if you wish!" Serena would call to her question as Josh set the cakes on the table. "Come on in! Josh told me you're a big fan of cooking. If you weren't, I'd have turned you down! But if you enjoy it, feel free to come join me!" She offered.

She knew that making herself comfortable would only last for a while; because some minutes later she then stood up again—but was temporarily barred from getting into the kitchen by something she’d recognized; the bigger version of her Shinku. “Hey… easy there, boy. Easy…” she began, letting the Arcanine take a sniff of her in order to prove that she meant no harm; and eventually she was allowed access into the kitchen. Unlike most of the house, which was rather luxuriously furnished, the kitchen was slightly different in terms of decoration. The essentials were there, yes; but they all looked high-tech and burnished to a shine—the very essence of utilitarian.
“Thanks for letting me into the kitchen. I mean, I know it’s just you two here, so I figured, why the hell not help you out? I can whip up something to add to the table, and it won’t take too long,”she offered, before quickly reaching for an offered apron and slinging it over her red little number. Sooner or later, she was bustling around the area, tossing water and sprinkling salt into a large pot before setting it on the stove. “Sometimes, when things aren’t too hectic, I help out the team cook the dishes over in Café Lavardige,” she began by way of explanation, before going back to one of the kitchen counters and bringing out a strainer along with several cans of tuna. “My little contribution is actually something I made by accident one time, and it sort of became a permanent thing on the menu,” she added with a grin on her face as she then began straining and draining the tuna chunks.
She already knew what she was going to be making; and hopefully his mother would appreciate the taste—because this was one of the dishes he’d sampled out the last time he’d come by the café in order to eat a proper meal.

Well, Josh had told Izumi that at one point, his mother was one of the top Trainers of his old home region. Her only known better was his father, who was once the Champion of the region before everything went to shit. The Arcanine was proof of just how skilled she really was though, and how much respect she commanded for such a beast as a powerful Arcanine that was willing to protect her with it's life. A Growlithe puppy was noticeably napping in the corner, and Josh smiled over at him. "That's Max. He's mine" He said, motioning toward the puppy. "I just got him today, actually, before I got here. He hatched soon after I picked him up, adorable, isn't he?" He asked.
He would help his mother and Izumi with grabbing everything, while she would work with Izumi on the cooking itself. "It's fine, my dear" Serena said. "I've been told you enjoy it, so I figured why not, you know, let you help out since you seem eager?" She asked. "Unfortunately, my son doesn't seem used to cooking luxuries since he's constantly out traveling. I worry about what he eats!" She said with a laugh. Josh uncomfortably scratched his head and looked away in response. Busted?

It wasn’t until much later, after Izumi had whipped together the cream sauce for the pasta dish she was making had she noticed the cute, smaller version of her own Shinku napping in a corner. “Merry Christmas, indeed,” she said with a chuckle, glancing over at the napping Growlithe. That then reminded her of the little situation that she had to address after dinner. “That reminds me,” she continued, after beating the cream until it was soft enough and then bringing out a sauce pan in order to heat it slowly and gently over a low fire. “I… well, it can wait until dinner, but do you mind if I use your PC connection for something? I have my Christmas gift, but since Kouji is already packing up things and shipping them over to Nue, all of my ‘mons were tossed back into cold storage until they get over to the new place,” she asked, hoping that either Josh or his mother would agree.
After managing to heat and warm up the sauce, she then grabbed the bowl of tuna chunks and then dumped it into the white sauce brew, before mixing it together and slightly turning up the fire. “I don’t know how you would deal with eggs in your carbonara, but they said that somewhere, that’s how this kind of pasta is eaten. I guess we’ll find out,” she continued, after finally getting the white sauce to the right consistency. And just like that, right on cue, the pot of water started boiling. She then scooped up the entire bag of pasta noodles and dumped it in, spreading it out across an even-sized circle, before turning back to the topic at hand—and a devious grin so large spread across her face, at his mother’s quip about his eating habits on the road.
Hoping that he wouldn’t hate her later for what she was about to share, she then made her way over to his mother, and then leaned in so that he couldn’t hear what they were going to talking about. “Well, you see Mrs. Dragomir… he’s not been eating too healthy while on the road. Mostly canned, boxed, and convenience store quick-made foods. You know. Like those curries that you boil in a bag, for starters… and if he does get sandwiches… they’re just… well I’ll leave the rest for you to ferret out of him,” she said, wishing that her hushed tones didn’t carry over to where Josh was also setting up for the dinner at hand.

"Of course, my dear!" Serena would say in response to her question as they continued to work together to create a Christmas feast. "You're like a part of the family now. Feel free to use the PC to your hearts content! You could even let your Pokemon stay here at Dragomir Ranch until they can be sent over to your new place! Of course, we're prepping to go too, but we're waiting for the official go-ahead... No need to keep them in balls for an unnecessary amount of time" she said. "You have no idea how busy I am lately, trying to find the wild Pokemon here, that don't belong to Joshua or my husband, and offering them a place with us as trained Pokemon. If they refuse, I have to shoo them away because we're leaving. If they accept, they willingly let me catch them. I caught a Venonat and a Weedle earlier today, and there are more to come, I'm sure" she said.
To Izumi's whispering, she nodded. "He needs to learn to cook, because I figured as much" she replied with furrowed brow. "He only cared about learning to make Pokemon food. He doesn't care about taking care of himself, its a travesty!" She said with a sigh. "You should go with him more since you're both traveling in Nue. Keep him well and keep him fed, will you?" She asked. "You know, before he catches some kind of disease from canned SHIT food" she said matter of factly.
Sadly, Josh had heard Izumi just fine. "Yeah Izumi, you can come with me!" He chirped mock cheerfully... His grin with that looked almost evil. "We can go EVERYWHERE together.... Via my motorcycle" he said slowly, emphasising the word Motorcycle.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Dec 28, 2014 5:34:36 GMT -5
Izumi was completely surprised at his mother’s words, and as a result, her face turned a bit pink at that pronouncement. “A-are you sure?” she began, blinking uncertainly—in her shock she didn’t notice that the white sauce was now starting to bubble quite ominously. “Whoops, let me just get this off the stove,” she continued, quickly snatching it off the flames and turning off the gas. Now that she had the sauce in her hands, she then left it off to one side to cool; and returned her attention to the noodles. Much as she really didn’t want to sell out Josh for being such a poor eater on the road, he did have his way of getting back at her—by mentioning the “M” word that she didn’t like hearing all too often.
“You know, J,” she began, wooden spoon in hand as she walked back over to where the pasta noodles were now bubbling as she began stirring it around, “…there’s a reason why I don’t like riding on that thing. Ever since you told Kouji, who eventually told me, that your rig is currently flying upside-down, I’d rather ride on something more stable that won’t cause all the blood to rush to my head,” she retorted, knowing how much of a speed demon he was when it came to that thing. Her first and last ride on the souped-up motorcycle was one that had left her screaming and whacking him upside the head sometime after she’d managed to get off the darned thing. She also noticed that there was a dastardly-looking evil grin on his face as he emphasized the last word from earlier, and all she could do was wave the spoon in his direction.
“And besides, since we’re moving out to Nue, I’m thinking of bringing over some of the staff from Lavaridge. Start up a sushi bar, or a ramen stall, or whatever, just authentic food from my mother’s homeland,” she continued; now pausing to contemplate the thought she’d voiced out loud. “Hmm, not a bad idea…” she continued, quickly fishing out a strand of pasta and touching it first, before letting it cool and eventually taste-testing it. “Bleh, still too hard,” she muttered a few moments later, before letting the spoonful drop into the bubbling pot and continuing to stir it rather feverishly, otherwise all the noodles would end up sticking at the bottom of said pot.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Dec 28, 2014 11:22:27 GMT -5
Josh didn't seem phased at all, and smirked a bit. "If I recall, Izumi... The reason you don't want to ride the motorcycle is because as soon as you get to a lukewarm speed, you start screaming" he teased, with vengeance in his eyes. Josh hadn't gone THAT fast, after all... I mean, it was a normal speed for a motorcycle to him. He figured Izumi was just being a wuss here.
"Aw, Izumi, are you really scared of moms handiwork?" Josh teased. "You KNOW she's trying her best to make sure its as safe as possible~" he teased again, still ensuring his revenge. He couldn't help it. She'd busted him! He'd make sure she regretted it, of course.
Serena kept working, smiling faintly. "A sushi bar? I suppose traveling is going to have to wait, isn't it?" She would ask curiously. So much for traveling with her son, it seemed, like she had hoped.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Dec 29, 2014 3:51:06 GMT -5
“Well, the reason why I don’t exactly like riding the thing is you could’ve at least given me a warning that you’re going to go insanely fast,” she began, turning around after swirling up the water and the noodles in the pot she was currently manning, before waving the spoon rather threateningly at him, yet there was a huge grin on her face. “Look, I prefer to travel right-side up, not upside-down as you like it on that rig of yours. I’d rather not have all the blood rush to my head and kill me way too early,” she continued, smirking faintly to herself as she then turned around before returning her attention to the noodles, which were now bubbling up nicely.
To his mother’s quip, she then hastily replied, “Well, not really going to stay pinned down too long. I’ve actually got my mother’s blessing to borrow some of the staff from the café in Lavaridge, bring ‘em over to Nue, and start from scratch. Of course, it was hard on her at first… I’d be scouting… well, scouting out the competition, so to speak, so that we know how to position our business in the new place. She’s quite adamant about staying in Hoenn, but eh, I guess that kids can’t stay too long with their parents… I don’t know if she’s going back to her birthplace, but yeah, she gave me her blessing to see the world,” she ended with a rather sheepish look on her face. After letting the water bubble for a few more seconds, she then tasted another strand, before quickly turning out the gas.
“Heh, my dish is done!” she said, quickly reaching for a pair of gloves and then quickly transferring the pot of cooked noodles to a spot near the sink, as she then reached for the large straining bowl and placed it in the sink to dump the noodles in order to drain them. Several minutes later, there was a piping hot plate loaded with pasta, topped with white sauce… and just for kicks, she’d cracked a fresh egg over the entire thing. “Time to find out if this is good or not,” she said with a flourish. “Uhhh… where’s the dining room?” she continued a few seconds later, feeling extremely sheepish at her rather unnecessary flourishing.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Dec 30, 2014 1:16:09 GMT -5
He couldn't help but chuckle, just a tad. "Oh, Izumi. You knew motorcycles are fast... You're just being a priss" He teased cheekily. "As for the upside down thing... Mom's working on it. It was a small glitch, it was hovering too high" He said, looking at Serena. She couldn't help but laugh. "I apologize, dear. Orre technology is curious indeed. I'll have it fixed up soon enough, I promise she said" to Josh's amusement. "Thanks, ma. I just hope Izumi isn't too picky on THAT build too" He teased just a bit with a smirk. "Anything wrong past that is just her being a wuss" He joked.
Serena would nod to Izumi's answer to her earlier question. "I see" She said. "But what are you going to do with your shop when you're out traveling?" She would question. "You need to have that thought out. You going to just close it if you're not in town and working? Or are you going to hire workers? Or is your mother coming with you to help?" She would add.
They would look over as Izumi showed off her dish. "It looks good, dear. Just put it on the table, where everything will be placed" She said, motioning to the table nearby. Josh facepalmed a bit. "Izumi... It's a lab, not a house. We don't have a dining room, this is the dining room. Thus why the kitchen table is in here. There's a dining room at home... But..."
His mother would quickly quip with "If you want to take that dish all the way back to Littleroot, be my guest~" Politely, but also a bit teasingly. Shows where Josh got his wit from.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Dec 31, 2014 1:11:15 GMT -5
“Hey, I am not a wuss,” she retorted at his initial quip, to which she then stuck her tongue out in his direction. “Is it bad to be worried about your own safety and general welfare while riding any kind of transportation?” she added a few moments later, before chuckling and nodding at his mother’s own input regarding the flying thing that was officially hovering upside down. “I just wonder how that’s going to hold the weight of one, possibly two people if it travels long distances… and also, would it last longer if forced to travel above water? I know flight with that thing isn’t possible yet due to its size, but…” she trailed off, looking rather sheepishly at his mother, still holding the steaming dish in hand.
“As for the shop… well, some of the crew from the café’s coming with me they’re apparently itching to travel, like me. But my mother’s just that stubborn; she wants to stay here in Hoenn. But I don’t know. Maybe some last-minute convincing would make her change her mind…?” she said, not realizing that she’d voiced that thought out loud. Due to her getting all swept up with preparing the dish, she very nearly missed the…lone table in the room where they were located. Who knew that the kitchen and dining room would be lumped together in one place? She then realized where Josh had gotten his sassy snark from: his mother. She then burst out into chuckles before setting down the plate on the kitchen table; and was about to ask where the stools where, but decided to leave that for later.
“Oh yes, we can taste the cakes later. I got two, because apparently someone insisted that I bring some more of the chocolate one over,” she added with a pointed stare in Josh’s direction.

"Oh pfft" Josh said, clicking his tongue. "You're a Pokemon Trainer. Danger is the norm, Izumi!" He teased cheekily. It looks like Snarky Josh was back in full force, and to Izumi's likely harm. His mother would chip in. "Don't worry about it, Izumi" She said. "I'll have it all taken care of. And it's perfectly suited for passenger travel. I just need to iron out a few kinks and make it hover a little bit lower. The problem was that it was so high that hitting a rock like it did could cause it to tip over. Just a small thing, I'll have it sorted out soon enough" She said.
Josh chuckled a bit. "Oh, don't worry. Maybe you could give me the option to adjust it?" He would ask Serena. "I mean, I'd love to have the option to... I don't know, tip it upside down when Izumi's riding shotgun" He teased, joked, and evilly made Izumi's life a living hell. "Just need an adjustment option" He said. Serena would chuckle and nod. "I can see what I can do" She said.
Josh smirked over at Izumi from her quip. "Who, me? I'm more for vanilla cakes" He said. "That was you who wanted the chocolate ones, Izumi" He added as he passed another set of tools to Serena.

“Well, my kind of danger normally involves battles in the wild, climbing rock faces, hiking and trekking through the dark wilderness, or swimming through wild currents—weather permitting,” she retorted back, now getting busy on unpacking the two cakes that she’d brought. Thankfully, for some weird reason the two cakes she’d brought all the way from Lavaridge didn’t get squished, and were just perfect—it was like there was some strange kind of force in play. “You know what…? I might as well send out Momiji later, have her memorize this place just in case I get the urge to come by at the last second so I don’t have to fly across the skies… but I guess that may not be necessary since we’re going to that new place eventually,” she continued, pondering on that thought that she’d voiced out loud.
After she’d managed to set up one side of the table, she then quickly bustled over to the sink and began washing out all of the dishes that had piled up in it. “If I don’t work as part of the wait staff, I’m usually in the back of the café, helping wash the dishes—among other things,” she offered by way of explanation, hoping that either Josh or his mother wasn’t going to get thrown off by the sudden weirdness she was currently exhibiting. She then reached for the sponge and began doling out the liquid dishwashing thing on it, before letting it run under water for a few moments in order for it to get frothy enough, before scrubbing everything that was piled in the thing so far. She knew that it was so ironic to do the dishes before the meal instead of after the meal, but she was just that itching to get to wash dishes again.
