Their first foray into the ruins had been successful for the both of them. After a short break, they had decided to continue their search through them. Hopefully, Josh thought, their roll would continue. The conditions in here were rather rough, he had to admit... But they were ruins, what did you expect? But for someone involved in fashion, or decor... They would say these ruins were a bit...
Onix-Ceptable.
Regardless of little funny jokes and puns, Josh, with Lightning clinging to his shoulder, would take a breath as he and Izumi walked. He remembered Izumi's outburst earlier when she'd ran into bones instead of a mega stone prior to her finding one herself... And he couldn't help but snicker just a bit. The poor girl. But at least it had worked out for her.
As for Josh... He'd already found one stone. But could he find what he was truly seeking? They would have to find out.
"How you doing back there, Smellzy?" Josh teased, smirking back at Izumi.

After acquiring that unusual marble—which was one of many that she hadn’t acquired as of yet, Izumi decided to humor Josh once more and head back to the Ruins—in order to be able to continue searching. She could tell that he was just slightly disappointed, because the one rock he was looking for was definitely not showing up; and she knew exactly which one he was looking for. With the rumors getting out that there were more kinds of the shiny stuff to be found, she then made a decision to continue searching for the little things with her companion—there were only so many times she could search alone before the solitude drove her nuts.
She then heard him making a crack in her direction, “Heh, at least I’m not dressed like a penguin for our next excursion. So how are you?” she began in retaliation, grinning widely as she approached him in order to deliver a light bonk on his forehead. “Come on, let’s get going. We can’t stay out here too long. Someone told me that there’s a chance the place might still be triggered with live traps… and who knows what the hell would happen to us if we get caught in something nasty…” she added with another devious-looking grin crossing her face. Heh, at least we managed to find something… I hope the good luck streak continues, because last month was full of hits and misses. December, please be nice to us today! She thought in the back of her mind as she then took the lead, walking down the stretch and disappearing into the Ruins proper.

It wasn't long after Izumi's first quip that Josh would respond in kind by smacking her ample rear. A smirk crossed his face as they kept walking. Aye, Josh was getting sort of irritated that the one rock he was looking for didn't seem to show up. But hopefully that would change soon. They'd just keep going through these until he found it, he supposed. He just hoped they would find it rather soon... The hunt would be funner when it was just looking for random stones and not a specific one, he knew.
"Traps?" He asked, looking back to her when she mentioned them. "Huh... I don't know if these places are booby trapped or not. I'm alright by the way... Yourself?" he asked. But it wasn't long before Lightning would step on a switch on the floor, a pressure plate. A pedestal would suddenly pop up from the floor, with a sphere in the center... Recognizing it's shape and look, Josh would take it, look it over, and then nod and put it away.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found a RELIC BAND! A bracelet made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

“Hey, no smacking,” she retorted as she felt her posterior maybe possibly throb a little; was it because of the “are you a penguin” quip she’d tossed his way? Apparently, the little remark she tossed his way didn’t take too long for her to bite again in the ass; because karma was really that fast. Seeing that he’d actually found something the first time once more, she then wondered if there was something that was up with her luck in the heavenly world. Squinting up at the “ceiling” of the ruins, she then sighed, before walking forward—and suddenly feeling her point of view shift from vertical to horizontal as she then came crashing down onto the damp, musty ground! “OW!” she yelped a few seconds later, not realizing that the pink Love Ball had rolled out and that her Gardevoir had burst out of the containment unit, before trying to help her get upright once more!
“Owww, that hurt. Hey, Momo. Wasn’t expecting to see you here. And, thanks,” She continued a few more moments later, pulling herself up with minimal assistance, because she didn’t want to drag down the Gardevoir and cause a mild case of human traffic in the ruin’s hallway. She then looked around, trying to find the offending source that had caused her to fall over and kiss the musty ground. The Gardevoir then let her own levitation powers loose, and a few seconds later, had managed to scoop up a rock bracelet from the ground and it was now hovering in front of Izumi’s line of vision.
“Oh, yuck. Can you toss that away, please?” she said, before pointing somewhere beyond where Josh stood, and the Gardevoir took aim—before letting the rock object fly past her companion’s shoulders, hitting the wall and shattering upon impact. “Help me look again, dear?” she asked, and the Embrace ‘mon nodded; before deciding to walk ahead of her, the better to act as lookout.

Josh couldn't help but chuckle a bit when Izumi fell, but he was also concerned. "Hey, you alright down there?" Josh called down the slope. "Piiikaaaa Piiika?" Lightning called as well. "Hope you didn't hurt yourself. It's going to be a pain if I have to drag you out" he said, giving a sigh, before he saw her get up and her Gardevoir came out as well. The blonde would nod. Izumi would be fine, he decided with a smirk. He would casually hang back against the wall a bit, waiting for her to get her bearings back and look a bit. After he'd allowed that, Josh would head down after her, with Lightning right after him.
"You've got to be more careful, Izumi" Josh chided, putting a hand on her shoulder. "If you get hurt, what am I supposed to do?" He joked with a nervous laugh. "I'd freak out"

After realizing that she’d taken a very bad spill, she then looked behind her and saw that Josh was now checking up on her, seeing if she was okay. “Never better,” she began with a chuckle, before brushing off as much dirt as she could—now that the Gardevoir had taken the lead; she was now free to brush herself as clean as she could manage mustiness aside. She continued to walk up ahead, before remembering to acknowledge the tidings she’d gotten from both Josh and Lightning—“I’m fine, I’m fine. I just need a bath after this run…” she continued, before her Gardevoir had seemingly come to a stop—and was starting at something. Curiously, she looked around her Gardy’s shoulder—but saw nothing but blackness ahead. “Momiji? What is it?” she began, before seeing that the Gardevoir was now levitating something in front of her.
“Oohh, that’s a nice stone you got there… wait a second… that suddenly reminded me of my own blue flower… oyyy,” she ended with a smack to her forehead; hoping that the tidings were not going to be as grim as she had already forecasted them to be. “You can put it down now, and keep going,” she continued, before the Gardevoir simply let the Shiny Stone clatter to the floor, and she simply walked past it. At that moment, Izumi felt a hand landing on her shoulder, and was surprised that Josh had already caught up to their current location so quickly. “I know, I have to be more careful. Avoid tripping over things, and shit. Wait—what did you mean by that last statement?” she asked, backtracking to his last words, but by now she was suspecting something was already amiss at this point…

As Izumi then proceeded to go in further, the air was becoming more and more musty; not to mention that the “ancient smell” was starting to permeate the environs. Just as she thought she’d finally be able to get something at last, she then recoiled in disgust; because her left foot had apparently stepped on something… squishy! “Oh, what in the name of seven hells was that…” she began, stepping backwards and then squinting in the barely-manageable light conditions. The Gardevoir then recoiled slightly at the sight—it was a rotten-looking apple core, of all things.“Ugh, what the hell is wrong…” she began, before stepping around the fallen core; it was giving off a whiff of decay even from here. “Josh, be careful—there’s a core somewhere there. If you hit something squishy, then you’ve stepped on a land mine…” she continued as she shook her head and continued to go further in.
Come on. Josh already found his, and I don’t have mine yet? How many galaxies of chickens do I have to sacrifice to get something awesome? This is totally unfair! She thought to herself, letting the rage wash over her. The Gardevoir that was walking alongside her then came to a stop, before seemingly folding her “arms” across her own chest, and then shaking her head—yes, the wave of emotion that her mistress was exuding was literally washing over her; and even she could tell that by this point, Izumi was very desperate to end this run on a high note. The last time, they’d found something good—why not this time? Were there celestial beings conspiring, conniving against her luck at this point? Was there something she’d done before that was really coming back to haunt her—and bite her in the ass—that was catching up with her at this moment?

Post by Izumi Yamamura on Dec 14, 2014 1:56:05 GMT -5
Around this time, Izumi was just about ready to have another breakdown—even her Gardevoir could taste the emotions that hung heavy on the air. Wondering if she was going to survive another crack at her sanity, the Embrace ‘mon hurriedly looked around—and then spotted it; if it wasn’t for her psychic powers wavering at a certain point, she’d have very nearly missed the rock that was glittering by her feet. Quickly picking it up with her own levitation powers, she then made her way back to where her mistress was just now looking around every nook and cranny. She then called her attention with a warbling voice, “Voir? Gardevoir. Gardevoir?” while maintaining the marble that she was levitating in front of her, the better to catch Izumi’s attention.
The panicked human, on the other hand, was literally scrambling around the dust and muck, ignoring the fact that her hands were getting all slimed up when she heard her Gardevoir’s voice trying to catch her attention. She then looked up; wondering what was the matter. “Yes, Momiji? Is something the matter—“ she began, when she noticed that there was something levitating in front of the Gardy’s field of vision. After realizing what it was approximately ten seconds late,r Izumi then slowly bowed to the Gardevoir, who then bowed back—therefore allowing her to snatch the floating marble out of thin air. She then began running her fingers over and over the thing; before quickly pocketing it—she’d find out what it was later once they got back to a place that had suitable lighting for further examination. “Come on, Josh, let’s get out of here. We need to rest and come back another day.”
