Who knew that the end of the year would spell a lot of changes for Kouji? First off on the list, the Golden Egg convention that was held in Kalos quite recently. How was he supposed to know that shit was going to literally hit the fan while he was there in attendance? He wasn’t even sure if his assistant had recovered okay, due to what had happened, but otherwise they were fine. The next bit of startling news was word he’d received that there was this new place that people were needed in—a new region altogether; and they needed Breeders to go over there and settle down. That was the actual start of the logistics nightmare. He’d already had a fight with his benefactor over why they were going to move—but after giving it some thought, she’d okayed the move of the Ranch—now the problem was actually transporting each and every single one of their Pokémon over to a yet-undecided place in this Nue area. His assistant was all over the move, supervising and taking care of things for him—while he decided to drop by at the new-fangled place which was supposedly the “same” (yet not similar at the same time) as the Kalosian Badlands, which he’d gotten quite used to, and fond of.
“Shame, it’s not as dank and as desolate as the first place was… but on the other hand… ruins, wouldn’t one of my older brothers have a run for his money,” he began with a chuckle, knowing that one of them had suddenly decided to turn and go “archaeologist” mode, and was apparently having a fun time digging through the ruins in another region altogether. He knew that his other older brother—the one who was also a Breeder—was still torn on jumping the gun and moving altogether to another place—but he’d decided to just “go with the flow” and see what would happen. After hearing word about those rumors in Kalos spreading out here, he decided to try his luck, and showed up—shovel in hand, backpack of supplies hefted on his shoulders—and Aerodactyl flying high above him, the better to keep an eye out for people who’d dare jump up behind and scare the hell out of him. He’d eventually send out his Gallade once he got digging, but for now, he was just here to “get a lay of the land” and explore a little. He then slipped on a pair of shades to keep the sun out of his field of vision and then began to very carefully traverse the area…
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC STATUE! A stone figure made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

As he took his first tentative steps into the ruins, he could taste the mustiness of the old air that had been trapped in the area for quite a while; and breathing in too much of it smelled like the pavement after a cold, rainy day—something he wasn’t quite privy to. As he then looked around, he then began to curse internally—for he’d forgotten to bring a Fire-type along; because he hadn’t switched everyone out ever since that Sevii fishing run, he was still busy trying to build everyone else up into formidable fighters, and breeding stock on the side. Worried that the light would recede the further he’d dare explore the area, he then decided to just stick to the areas near the entrance/exit, just in case he accidentally set something off and had to make a quick getaway. Far above in the sky, the Aerodactyl that was keeping an eye out for him had come to land on one of the steeples that overlooked the approximate location where his master had gone inside; all he had to do now was to wait for him to get out once he’d found something.
Back down on the ground, Kouji had decided to send out one of his trusty companions, and as the flash of red light transformed into his Gallade, who then bowed in his direction, he began, “Keep a guard out for me, okay? Don’t want anything too crazy happening. Sky’s outside… I just know he’s watching…” he trailed off, passing by a part of the ruins that had no ceiling—and as he looked out, he saw his Aerodactyl perched on what appeared to be an overgrown steeple. Sky then gave a roar of greeting, before reassuming his post of outside guard. Kouji then chuckled, before beginning to tread deeper into the place—and accidentally swinging his hand, sending something shattering to the floor. “Ohhh… crap, oops?” he continued sheepishly after a few moments, as he crouched down in order to see what he’d destroyed this time. As he turned it over gently, the Gallade looking down at it as well, he then recognized it for what it was—were the “undesirables” following them all the way out here, even if they were just originally in the Kalos region? “Ugh, pass,” he said, shaking his head, letting the shards drop—and taking a turn into another room, Rymista, his Gallade at his heels.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found WISE GLASSES! Looks like another digger lost their glasses in the dig. Lucky you these are just for show, so you can probably sell them off or keep them for yourself to make yourself look smart?

As the two members of the “exploration team” had taken another turn and were walking into a new location, Kouji suddenly heard the crunching of something underfoot. He then stopped, and looked around—to which his Gallade gave a very confused look, before pointing own, having realized where the source of the noise was coming from. He then backed away a few paces and then squinted down at the dark, dank, musty floor—and then stretched out a hand to pluck up the object that had made the sound from where he was about to continue walking. As he shuffled forward into a patch of ceiling where there was light shining down on it, he then saw that it was a pair of glasses—but thankfully, it wasn’t the same pair he was using (because he’d left his reading glasses with his assistant, who was still busy trying to fix up things and locate a good spot for them to live in).
The Gallade then looked at it out of confusion, before shaking his head—and his master did the same. “Definitely not mine, that’s for sure…” he continued, before looking for a place to balance the crushed glasses on—it was a gaudy, thick-rimmed pair; whereas his own reading glasses had a slender, minimalist frame. “That’s definitely not what we came out here to look for. Shall we continue searching, Rymi?” he asked the Galladte, to which he nodded—before watching as Rymi actually took the lead this time, the better to protect his master from any booby traps or unwanted surprises that might come tumbling their way. “Lead the way, Rymi. I have faith in you,” he continued, waving the Gallade forward; and all the same to be on the safe side, Rymi then charged up an instance of Swords Dance just to make sure nothing would go wrong.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found a RELIC CROWN! A crown made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

As the Gallade then continued forward, it caught sight of something not too far away, and decided to investigate it, leaving Kouji behind to look through one of the rooms that he’d chanced upon. Most of the rooms in this part of the ruins appeared to be either already violated, ransacked, or worse—but who knew if there were still any more hidden shinies in the area, and he was trying to look at the assembled rubble in the room without having to touch it himself. Crap, I forgot my work gloves, this is bad… why did I leave them behind with all the other Ranch gear? He thought to himself as he resisted the urge to just go poking around and touching everything within sight. He then looked back out into the hallway where he was headed—and his companion was now out of sight! He was about to go calling for the Gallade when he remembered, that Rymista could take care of himself, so he decided to just go into the room at hand and gave everything a sweeping glance, trying to pick out if there were any more good things left.
Over at where Rymista was, the Gallade was brushing vines and other kinds of muck out of the way—and trying to squint as far ahead as he could. The Pokémon had taken a few steps forward—when it felt its own foot brush against something, and that caused the Gallade to crouch down and take a look at what it had very nearly stepped on. Upon seeing that it was some sort of weird spiky crown, a frown furrowed the Gallade’s normally impassive features, before skirting right around it and continuing on deeper into the ruins. Who knew what was waiting for them out here? He could only guess as to how his master was faring, and went on deeper. He could come rushing back to his master’s die if he found something interesting, anyway—that is, if he found something that would prove to be interesting.

Rymista had gone further in, making sure to hack away at any overhanging vines, still on the lookout for something of the small, round, sparkling kind. Who knew that today was going to be an unforgettable day—for him at least. As the Gallade continued forward, he then caught sight of something glittering, half-buried in the dirt. As his foot had gently brushed against the surface of the marble, he then felt this sudden wellspring of power—but where was it coming from? Confused, the Pokémon then looked around, before stomping down lightly again—and then realizing a split-second later that the weird, tingly sensation was coming from somewhere underfoot! The Gallade then crouched down and then gently poked the thing that had brushed against his foot—and then felt the same rush of power course through him for a few seconds before settling down to normal! What was this thing?!
Curiously, he then called upon the last few dregs of his own remaining psychic energies to levitate the marble he’d stepped and very nearly passed, before heading back to his master. Kouji, on the other hand, was still searching for something of wonder in one of the rooms when he suddenly felt the hair on the back of his nape tingle—because there was a weird kind of energy floating in the air. He then straightened up—only to find that his Gallade was right there, a few paces behind him—seemingly levitating something. “And here I was thinking, you don’t have any trace of your psychic powers anymore since you’re more of a physical than a ranged fighter…” he began, before noticing the thing that was levitating in front of him. “May I?” he asked, before watching the Gallade nod, and then he plucked the marble out of seemingly “thin air” and examined it.
“Well… this looks similar to one of the ones we got, but at the same time…” he began musing, trying to gather his wits about the item. “Let’s take it, this looks like one of those new ones…”
